20 Best Pee Cleaner For Dogs (Jan 2023 Update)

I was told it didn't have to be cleaned up from where it was used, but after first use, there were suds indicating a cleaning substance which I cleaned up and dried. I was told it was a safe to use around children and pets ingredient, but not what it is. I'm one of those picky, well-educated, caring humans who likes to investigate things and not take someone else's word. What exactly are all the ingredients in this product? I can't sweat it was this product, but something was stinging a small scratch on my finger. No, I'm not the type of person who sues and I never have. If I'm not happy, I just won't use the product. Unless it harms my family or pets because I've been deceived…. that's a whole different story.Sandra P.

My mom's dog is 17 years old, blind and incontinent. Bless his little heart… We are pretty good about his routine and taking him out on a schedule but as you can imagine, accidents will and DO happen. Now I did not have to spend alot on this product. But the claims made for the product sounded EXACTLY like what I was looking for. However, honestly speaking, I will tell you exactly my personal experience. It has an odd smell, not horrible but just odd. It does take care of lingering urine odors – for about 2-3 days, then the urine odor returns. So the MAIN question on the cleaning part of this product is answered. If the urine odor returns, I'm assuming the urine us still there. All of the reviews that state this thing works are true. My teenagers were in charge of keeping the litterbox clean because we have two cats. They do an excellent job of keeping up with it in general. They did, however, become a touch sluggish over the break. The smell was so awful that I was practically retching by the time I smelled it from down the hall and told them to clean it. The damage had been done, even with the clean litter, and all I could smell was cat urine. So I came on here and read all the 5-star ratings and decided that even if it only functioned half as well as the reviews said, it would be a success. So when it arrived, I just opened the bottle and poured about a third of the liquid over our laminate floor and sprayed it on the walls surrounding the litterbox. I set it aside for an hour. However, even standing outside the room, we instantly saw a difference. I also brought the litterbox outside and sprayed it with this stuff, but I didn't let it sit, instead wiping it down with baby wipes. After an hour, I washed everything out, replaced the clean litterbox in the room, and went outside to clear my nose to see if I could smell cat urine. I couldn't smell it. My children couldn't either. I invited my MOTHER (who despises cats and is a stickler for cleanliness) over for the grand verdict, and asked her to smell not only the house, but the room as well. She was taken aback by the fact that she couldn't smell anything, and she actually stated it smelled GOOD! It does have a light herbal aroma to it that isn't bad. In her episodes of separation anxiety, she would have accidents almost everywhere and then track the mess everywhere else. My former tools were not keeping up, and–try as I might–I couldn't seem to ever get all of the spots or get rid of the smell.Enter Angry Orange and the blacklight tool. I used it once, and my carpeted apartment had never smelled better. I was once again confident that I was helping pruppets without screwing over my landlady.The accidents, unfortunately, continued. Never fear, I thought, because I have Angry Orange! However, when I went to use the product a second time, the spray bottle no longer worked. Thinking I had just worn it out with too vigorous use, I transferred the miracle substance to another bottle. Voilá! Once again, my apartment smelled like oranges instead of–you know.Again, though, the next time I tried to use my Angry Orange, the spray bottle no longer worked. I have a small male cat whose age was a little hard for myself and my local vet to pin down in his first few visits. It turns out that although my cat is awfully small, and despite him being cute to where my neighbors think he is a female, he is very much a full grown Tom Cat at this point. He needs to be neutered, but his appointment is still some months away and apparently last month he just decided to become an aggressively territorial little meany and he started spraying anything left unattended whenever he didn't get what he wanted. Mail, packages, a cookie tin (I was also confused at this one), baskets of laundry, a plastic grocery bag, and my entire living room became his primary targets. Up until now I had tried using everything to remove the smell and nothing would work. I'd deep clean the whole apartment, take a walk outside to neutralize my nose, and open my front door again to just be greeted by the same persistent cat spray stench.Cue Angry Orange. I read the reviews and instructions and basically deduced that this should NEVER be used on untreated wood and plastic. Using a little math from the guidelines on the back of the bottle I used 2 Tablespoons (measured with metal measuring spoons) in 16 Ounces of warm water inside of a glass spray bottle ***.it's perfect! I sprayed the carpeted areas I knew for sure that he had targeted heavily and I even sprayed some onto a rag to wipe down nearby hard surfaces and walls that may have been caught in the crossfire. I kid you not it worked almost immediately. Even after initially spraying I smelled the horrendous cat spray stench after a panicked search I found a literal gooey sticky puddle of cat urine that had congealed *retch* under a glass vase. I sprayed the vase and washed it down, plus I sprayed the surface it was sitting on and wiped it clean ***.gone Perfect. Absolutely KILLED the stank.Once the carpets dried I used my carpet shampooer (Hoover PowerDash for Pets) with just warm water and a bit of urine neutralizer and the results are great! Just make sure to fully empty and clean your shampooer afterwards to avoid the plastic destruction other reviews have shown. It's not advisable to use Angry Orange directly in these types of machines as Orange oil/peels are somewhat caustic.H2O

Our cat of 5 years decided to start peeing on the carpet out of no where. I can't be 100% sure why she started doing this, but I assume it's because she's a cat, and I had the nerve to come home after work one day and pet her in a way where she would be forever disgusted with me. When I wake up what do I smell, nothing, absolutely nothing. I stick my nose to the carpet and just smell a slight hint of orange, and precisely 4% cat pee. So I get out my trusty spray bottle again, give it a few more sprays, wait 10 minutes, dry the carpet, and only 1% cat pee. In the process of trying to get him quarantined and deal with the smell, my clothes were saturated with the awful stink. I thought it would be worth trying this product on the horrific smell. Lots of clean up today of dog, tile floor from when I walked back in after catching said dog, and of course, everything I was wearing in addition to his bedding. I mopped with the Urine Destroyer diluted strong in water so house smells good again. I then soaked my clothes and the dog bedding for abut an hour in a bucket with laundry soap and a couple cups of the Urine Destroyer. The smell is gone! I am thrilled at the low cost solution and will have this product on hand to deal with future close encounters of the skunk kind in addition to any pet bathroom accidents.KRAY

Dear Clorox, this product is legit. I have tried to convince my friends and family…well really any household with males about this product, and not one person has heard of it. I really wish it wasn't so hard to find, I live in Columbus, Ohio and have a hard time finding it. In addition to, I have looked in hardware and grocery stores in Canal Winchester, Lancaster, and Athens with issues. I'm currently on the hunt to find a couple of bottles to send to my sister who lives in the Athens area with a household of 4 males.JustMeInOhio

My cat had missed her box in a storage room and as I tried to clean it up it spread underneath various storage containers. I washed the vinyl floor with vinegar and water twice without success. The maintenance person suggested this product. After taking everything out of the room I sprayed it heavily an d left it for 15 minutes and then dried it. The next morning I could still smell some urine so I repeated heavily spraying and letting it sit for 15 minutes and then drying it. There is no more smell at all. I like this brand and I like the bottle it's a good spray bottle and u get alot of the product for ur money. And I also like that it takes the oder away too and the stains it worked great for me I used it when my new puppy peed all over my living room carpet I used about half the bottle but there was alot to clean and I vacuum my carpet after and it's good again! Used this on a few spots where my cat has made some gross smells on. It seems to eliminate the smells and stains pretty quickly. It is a huge bottle for the price and will last a long time. I just used this for the first time today because we have a cat that has gotten in the habit of peeing outside her litter box. It's pretty simple to use and smells nice. A friend bought this for us so I'm not sure I would have purchased it myself. There are some homemade remedies online that might work as well but don't smell as nice. This was recommended by our veterinarian to address the neutralization of odors from urine not contained in the litter box–such as when a cat is ill and not properly using the box, or due to behavioral issues. I had a large amount of cat urine on two very expensive oriental rugs. I used the product as directed, poured one entire bottle on each rug. The both rugs had a very strong perfume smell which dissipated after a couple of weeks. If you get your nose down to the carpet now (one month later) you can still smell the perfume but there is no odor of cat urine. The room does not smell perfume like. We were using another version of natures miracle but the odor was just too strong for me to tolerate. And it would last for days. That wasn’t an issue much in the past as our last chihuahuas were well house trained and only had issues with kidney stones, or aging. But now we adopted a chi mix who has to be tranquilizer to be inside his cage AND at 3 is not house trained AND he’s petrified to go outside. We finding this was a real blessing. IF you follow the directions you will never have a stain. As with all enzymatic type urine removers, the odor is sometimes worse than the urine odor. This does have an odor BUT it’s SO much more tolerable, as I have trouble with odors. Of course because you must get all the way down to the floor, we saturate our carpeting as instructed, and find the odor will linger for 2-4 days. Now I definitely did not use this product as originally intended. I don't have a Hoover wet vacuum or carpet cleaning vacuum of any kind. I simply diluted to the strength recommended on the bottle of 3oz of cleaner per one gallon of water in a sprayer, pre-treated the area and let it set for about 10 minutes. Came back with a stiff brush and worked the cleaner into several spots that had been pretreated and blotted it up with a cotton towel. OMG I could not believe it. One year old stains that have had nearly every carpet cleaning product applied to it over the year came up with ease. I was truly amazed. I did not take a before picture as I was not expecting this product to work at all. I am just shocked out how amazing of a job this product did on those pet stains. We have 2 indoor cats that from time spit up hairballs, etc. that leaves stains from time to time. From using this product, I can say that is does work to remove dirt and stains from carpets. I did not have parts of the carpet that particular smells bad (from urine or anything) to say for sure that us removes all the smell, but overall the product smelled very good and left the carpet smelling good afterwards. When using the carpet cleaner, I previously carpet cleaned the house about a month ago and when using this new product, it removed even more dirt from the carpet. I wanted to make sure I gave it a chance before I wrote my review. My cat peed on my bed and it got thru my blanket, sheet, mattress topper and it got on my mattress. I washed everything else a few times and that took care of the smell on all of that but I couldn’t get the pee away from my mattress. It smelled at night and I couldn’t fall asleep and I tried every pet stain remover we had in our house. So I decided no harm in trying this… I used it for two days. Sprayed really close to the mattress and let it soak. Then I took a damp rag and scrubbed and did that about twice. The second day I just sprayed it and then an hour later I blow dried it to help it dry faster. It worked! I can’t smell the pee anymore (thank god) and I can finally sleep! Well, it works! Usually I use natures miracle but it wasn’t actually cleaning my carpet that well and the smell was just insane after a while. A couple of minutes after scrubbing this into my carpet in some spots where my dog had marked hard, I didn’t think it was going to work and I could still smell the urine but after an hour of letting it air out, the stains were gone except one bad one (I’d expect that and will just try using this again in that spot more thoroughly as it was lightened back up by 50%) and the smell was gone and everything smelled good again. Took some elbow grease but it works well for bad pet stains and smells.Hannah

We have been using Furry Freshness for a few years now and don't believe there is anything better on the market for removing stains and odor. Following the directions on the label, after the area is sprayed on the spot, the spot and odor are GONE! Amazing results! I have 2 dogs and have used furry freshness on dog urine, vomit, and poop stains on our rug and bed and love how it works to remove odor and leave behind no frangrance or odors. I’m so happy to have found a product that removes odors and stains so well. Just spray to saturate and let it dry. I do feel the need to keep pets away from product while it’s drying but that’s a small inconvenience compared to the results I’ve gotten.

I recovered a feral female cat in my home and she got out of the crate….I let her out; she was contained to one room….and my mistake was thinking all cats know to use the litter box. She did not. The dear creature finally emptied herself the day after surgery, leaving two enormous piles of the most foul smelling feces and untold amounts of potent urine under my couch. It took several days to vacuum up all that water, two treatments of the foam to push back the odor of wet carpet, and several shampoos with the carpet shampoo, but my apartment is fresh smelling with no sour odor in the carpet. I bought this product today after several attempts with other products to remove the smell of cat urine. Let me note none of the other products were specifically for cats. Buying this was a last ditch effort before having to have the hardwood flooring replaced. I was expecting to apply the natures miracle and it maybe help a little. I began to spray I noticed the spray has a pleasant smell, and maybe 10 seconds later I notice the urine smell is getting better (not just masked). Also noticed it worked well spraying it into cracks in hardwood flooring, and wherever there was urine still would faintly turn yellow/brown, the change in color really helped let me know where to spray. The areas I treated are almost totally dry now and no urine smell has returned. I am beyond impressed and grateful.HollyDay79

Several reviewers commented that they don't like the way this cleaner smells. I suppose it's a matter of personal preference, but I think it smells like most kinds of carpet cleaner. I didn't find it to be overwhelming, and it certainly smells better than cat poo. I have 2 five-week-old kittens who are still learning to use the litter box and had a couple of accidents. With a household of both cats and dogs (owning/dogsitting/fostering), you can imagine lots of accidents are bound to happen. The Nature's Miracle Advanced Stain and Odor eliminator gets the job done. I can literally see the stain breaking down when I spray this, and then I blot it up. I took off one star because the scent is overwhelming for me, and I'm not a fan. I have a sensitive nose, and the smell of it just reminds me that this is a pet household where accidents happened. I moved into a house where 2 dogs tore up the house because of negligent pet owners. one dog was larger and was only let out once or twice a day on his leash to do his business. they gave away the smaller dog eventually because it was hyperactive and kept urinating on the carpet. they abandoned the house and their mess along with it… the slumlord vacuumed but I went over it with the Arm and Hammer animal odor eliminated stuff and my Dyson ball for animals vacuum, then let the house air out for a few hours. it perfumed the smell and still reeked of dogs. then I rented a Rug Doctor from Wal Mart and used the Rug Doctor shampoo for animals… I went over the carpet twice (spraying forward and back) and once again opened the windows and doors for a few hours. keeping in mind my 2 year-old son has had allergic conjunctivitis and a fever from going in and out of this disaster area for 2 days, I am enraged at this point because the overwhelming perfume smell was gone but the dog smell was still obviously there. I went to Petco last night to find ANYTHING with a hefty price tag on it that looked like it would work (without having to rent a carpet cleaner again) and bought this for $15.99 along with a lavender-scented Arm and Hammer odor-eliminating candle (which I haven't tested yet). I went over every inch of that God-forsaken carpet… today, the air in that placed is finally neutralized!!! there is a faint smell of the spray but 1.) I cant express how much I don't care, considering what I've been through, literally, already and 2.) that will be remedied with an air purifier and my candle (or any oil burner, diffuser, or potpourri- I never recommend air sprays). my only suggestion is that if you are under the same circumstances I was and plan on spraying as much as I did, wear a rubber glove because it leaks onto your fingers and the smell doesn't wash off. that said, I suggest renting a carpet cleaner using this brand's shampoo to save yourself time, effort, and frustration, if you ever find yourself in my situation… and apparently order it online since it's cheaper?Raynie

We have been very happy with this product. Thanks goodness we do not have to use it often. But we use to have an older cat that would pee outside the little box while inside it. We were always cleaning. We ended up getting a gallon. The price worked out way cheaper for us at the time. We would bounce between this product and the white bottle one. We ended up using this product more though. I would recommend all Nature’s Miracle products. But just remember this just because it says miracle on the bottle sometimes it isn’t. So items just can not be saved. But for carpet, floors, even clothes I have had good luck so far.michelle.d

When my cat had a urinary infection she went every where and the smell was awful. I tried many products nothing got the smell out of the floor and basement area. My cat is a grade A jerk. She's cute and fluffy, but kinda a poop head. That said when she gets surly she will protest pee (my vet says shes fine, just that Torties have catitude) This stuff is pretty good I use a few products from them, the smell is mild and completely cuts cat pee smell, and removes stains including blood. It's a bit spendy but you get what you pay for. Cat tax added!nataly.l

I like it enough to buy it again. It's inexpensive and the spray has good force to cover a large area. I have an 8 week old puppy, and he's had a few pee accidents, nothing major, and it's just a little… but you need something meant for pet stains like this, because otherwise the odor stays in the fibers and the dog will keep on urinating in the same area. This seems to work well enough, of course I don't know how well it works if the stain has settled in there for a while.NYCGalOut

When my sweet girl cat started peeing all over the place, I quickly took her to the vet who quickly referred me to this product, along with meds to treat the problem. Natures miracle kept my cat from revisiting the same area where she has already peed. Truly a miracle. Stains gone & the smell too. Cat had a urinary infection. Sometimes my kikat likes her breakfast so much that she gets excited and gobbles it up too quickly. This results in a not so pleasant clean up of mush about 15 minutes later when she decides to spit it back up. Clean up wouldn't be nearly as easy without this product! My mum used Nature's Miracle with our pets when I was younger and now I'm a true believer in it. After you physically remove any "sick" for the floor, a few thorough sprays and a paper towel will soak up any leftover stains and ordors. It's the best! I would recommend to any pet owner.sarah.h

We have 2 cats and small dog. Any can have an off day, and each of them, at one time or another, has deliberately "gone" where they shouldn't have. Whether it's a rug, specific part of a room, or just opportunistic accident, this spray has been wonderful! Nature's Miracle makes great products; this was a new one for us. I am convinced that using it has helped keep my dog in particular literally stop any indoor accidents. Probably combination of better watching and an effective spray, but having seen my dog go to the front door rug, sniff, and Not potty…Priceless (no more hearing my daughter scream because a cat or dog went where they shouldn't. I bought the product a month ago when we adopted a puppy from your Toms River store. This product is great on my hardwood floors and has a nice citrus smell. It has worked with our puppy not going in the house. With the help of the product we were able to house train our 3 month old puppy in a few weeks. I have been using this for three years now and it is wonderful. I use it on clothing to get out every stain imaginable, along with pet odor. Pet Urine, vomit, grass stains, dirt stains, you name it and it will come out. It’s safe on wood, cloth, plastic and metal surfaces. I have 7 cats, 4 dogs and run a daycare, so trust me I know what I’m talking about.Rainwater

I wanted to make sure I gave it a chance before I wrote my review. My cat peed on my bed and it got thru my blanket, sheet, mattress topper and it got on my mattress. I washed everything else a few times and that took care of the smell on all of that but I couldn’t get the pee away from my mattress. It smelled at night and I couldn’t fall asleep and I tried every pet stain remover we had in our house. So I decided no harm in trying this… I used it for two days. Sprayed really close to the mattress and let it soak. Then I took a damp rag and scrubbed and did that about twice. The second day I just sprayed it and then an hour later I blow dried it to help it dry faster. It worked! I can’t smell the pee anymore (thank god) and I can finally sleep! Well, it works! Usually I use natures miracle but it wasn’t actually cleaning my carpet that well and the smell was just insane after a while. A couple of minutes after scrubbing this into my carpet in some spots where my dog had marked hard, I didn’t think it was going to work and I could still smell the urine but after an hour of letting it air out, the stains were gone except one bad one (I’d expect that and will just try using this again in that spot more thoroughly as it was lightened back up by 50%) and the smell was gone and everything smelled good again. Took some elbow grease but it works well for bad pet stains and smells.Hannah

Omg!!! I’m impressed! My son and puppy marked their territory in a couple places in the house and we could never get the smell out. It was embarrassing and we haven’t had anybody over because of it. I saw this in Walmart and decided to try this since the other sprays didn’t work. I sprayed this on a spot and it has a strong lemon smell. I went back over there an hour later and I smell NOTHING. I can’t believe it! It definitely works the first time like the bottle says.dominique.p
