Quite Happy with or without a Pandemic. Not having been to a salon in over a year, I wanted to try something, and used this with HairFlair for beach waves. Glad I purchased 2 boxes, because I did run out, and I have short hair – so if you have long hair – get a few boxes. (my hair is barely touching my shoulders). I have used this perm for the past couple of years and was very happy with the results, it left my gray hair soft and the curl was very nice and there was no strong odor to the solutions. However, I just purchased a box and went last week to get my hair done and was astonished. First the solutions stunk like a very stong perm, it actually was burning my nose and making my eyes water, I had to cover my face. The hairdresser was even having a hard time breathing. The curl is awful, there really is no curl and my hair feels real dry, plus I have noticed my hair is falling out quite a bit and in the front part where my bangs are it feels like a brillow brush and when I look closely, I have little stubbles. This perm really did a number on my hair. I have always liked this perm and always bought it to get my perm done, but I am not sure what happend this time. Not sure if they changed the solution. Any Ideas of what could of happend. I bought this to perm my mother's hair. She has complained for a while now that her hair has gotten thinner. So I googled how to perm hair, ordered this perm and some rods, and got to work. The worst part was that it took so long to roll the hair on the rods. As you can see from the picture the curls turned out very well and really lasted a long time. I liked it so much that I ordered one and permed my own hair. This is the first perm I've had in several years! Mine also did well and I have so much more body. There was no noticeable damage to our hair. Mine is color treated, my mother's is not. I should note, too, that we both have thyroid issues but there was no problem with this perm "taking". This is packaged for shipping with inadequate padding. I have ordered several times recently and the boxes inside the shipping package are crushed, torn and damp from the permanent wave solution leaking. When I ordered this product before this was never a problem. Also the perm is excellent, when you get the kit in good condition.Sue

Quite Happy with or without a Pandemic. Not having been to a salon in over a year, I wanted to try something, and used this with HairFlair for beach waves. My hair is thick, previously colored, and super straight. Scent isn't bad, not like 'perm solutions', and I kept it at 20 minutes and got the wave I wanted. Glad I purchased 2 boxes, because I did run out, and I have short hair – so if you have long hair – get a few boxes. (my hair is barely touching my shoulders). Definitely buying again, and saving $200+

However, I just purchased a box and went last week to get my hair done and was astonished. First the solutions stunk like a very stong perm, it actually was burning my nose and making my eyes water, I had to cover my face. The hairdresser was even having a hard time breathing. The curl is awful, there really is no curl and my hair feels real dry, plus I have noticed my hair is falling out quite a bit and in the front part where my bangs are it feels like a brillow brush and when I look closely, I have little stubbles. This perm really did a number on my hair. I have always liked this perm and always bought it to get my perm done, but I am not sure what happend this time. Not sure if they changed the solution. Any Ideas of what could of happend. I have been going to this hair dresser for over 30 years and like I mentioned earlier, I have been using this product for the past couple of years with excellent results until now.

I bought the above perming solution and permed my hair today. I have NEVER had a problem with perms with other solutions (not bought at Sally's) and my hair would take the perm beautifully. Followed the steps on Naturelle, to the T. Now my hair has the texture of a poodle, despite using rod sizes 5/8 and 11/16. Not only is the texture/feel/look of my hair ruined but it is also FALLING OUT in clumps. I am distraught and trying desperately to save my hair. Do not buy.
Very easy to use and works great on my Mom's 83 y/o thin color treated hair. No dryer or outside heat source involved or needed. Perm is self-activated to set waves/curls. I alternate small pink and grey rods and perm produces well-formed tiny waves and curls, giving Mom's thinning hair the fullness she likes. Smell is still that of a perm, but not too bad. Perm lasts in Mom's hair for about 2 to 3 months.
