I have been taking these prenatal vitamins for several months now, and they are excellent. I like the ingredients, and I didn't have any nausea with taking them on an empty stomach. They are large and don't have a great taste but that doesn't bother me because I like the ingredients. I would've loved to continue using their postnatal vitamins, but unfortunately I have had so many issues with their subscription service and customer service that it's not worth it to me to continue ordering. I have had problems for three months in a row now which has led to me running out of vitamins twice, and in my multiple interactions with customer service, I only had one person actually apologize for the inconvenience. I had to fix most of the issues myself after many times of logging onto my account, re-ordering vitamins, and checking things to make sure they were correct. Experience: I searched for a prenatal for months I wanted something natural that would provide my baby and I with the vitamins needed without all the additives. I picked it because it is natural has a good source of vitamins and minerals . It is expensive compared to others. However, I feel like it's worth it because it contributes to you having a healthy baby. I have taken it in an empty stomach and it does not harm me. My fingernails have always chipped but after starting to take this for only 1 week I've noticed that they are now strong and they don't bend or chip. I don’t know if it was just me personally, but when I take my dose, it makes the subsequent sip of water taste like blood. Fair warning! But that’s my only complaint. Otherwise, this is an amazing supplement. I’ve dealt with iron deficiency anemia, severely low ferritin levels with low-normal iron, for over 1.5 years now. My symptoms are very severe. I’m currently taking the highest dose of ferrous sulfate by prescription, but the side effects of nausea and constipation are horrid. Taking that twice a day is very rough. I was recommended by a medical professional to take BloodBuilder daily as a booster to the heavy ferrous dosage to help with the side effects and help absorb the iron as it has superfoods and vitamin C. And it did!! I’m back to being regular again whilst still taking my prescription. I found this very helpful for the chronic anemia because it allows me to get my levels up even higher without feeling sick to my stomach. It’s great as a standalone for someone with mild to moderate anemia, but I don’t recommend this as a substitute for someone with severely low levels, it’s not enough iron to combat dangerous lows by itself. I have been taking these for over a year now. I started when trying to conceive and still taking them now that baby is 4mo. At one point I did have to take them in the evening but I believe it was due to my morning sickness. However, I did not find that these specifically made me sick. Totally think this vitamin is the best. Dr. Allowed me to take this supplement during chemo. I feel that by taking this supplement while taking chemo allowed me to feel some energy, which helped with a positive attitude. I’ve been looking for a daily multivitamin for a few months and saw this one as the “Best Vegan” multivitamin. I’m not vegan but I loved that I could buy it over the counter. So I purchased. I don’t notice too much of a difference, I’ve only been taking for a few weeks. I will say I feel it has too much B vitamin which is probably required for vegans. When I was pregnant with my first child, I researched and tried several different prenatal multi-vitamins. I ended up sticking with Garden of Life myKind Organics Prenatal Multi because it is one of the only ones I could find with the NATURAL form of folate. So many prenatal vitamins out there are using folic acid, which is the synthetic form of folate. I see a couple reviewers below are a bit misinformed on this aspect so I would highly encourage everyone to do their own research on this. The natural form is the easiest for us to absorb and transfer to baby. I'm so sorry to hear this parent has a baby with NTDs, but blaming a prenatal–or worse, yourself–is something I hope they can overcome as there are other factors that play into the unfortunate outcome. The Men's 55+ Multi Gold is the first multi I have found that does not contain magnesium stearate (which gives me elevated trans fatty acid levels) and uses whole food organic plant sources as a base with targeted usage of carefully isolated natural nutrients to cover B12 and D, for example, while NOT containing cancer causing synthetic vitamins like folic acid, isolated vitamin A and isolated vitamin E. Additionally, my vitamin D and B12 blood levels are currently ABOVE optimal ranges so I needed a multi with less D and B12 than the Fuhrman's Men's Daily that I had been taking the last couple of years but with more B12 than the Garden of Life MyKind Men's Daily I was taking before that which left me with a slightly increased MMA level (i.e. subclinical B12 deficiency). I'm a first-time hopeful mommy-to-be, and I wasn't sure which prenatal vitamins I wanted to commit to until I found Pink Stork! I compared ingredients against recommended doses, and these vitamins have it all!! I love that they include DHA as well. I really want to love this prenatal, but I have a few issues with it.First I'll start with the pluses: it has decent ingredients, doesn't have a bad taste (it tastes orangey, due to a little flavor packet inside the bottle), the pills are easy to swallow.Now for the cons: I find that it actually makes my stomach upset after a few hours. If I take it during the day, I'm nauseous for hours, if I take it at night I wake up with a horrid stomachache. I have a mild case of HG, which has been well managed with Unisom at night, but I switched to this prenatal and I've regressed to daily nausea again. Second complaint is that though the flavor isn't bad going down, if I take them during the day I have an orangey flavor bubbling up all day no matter what I eat or drink, almost like fish burps. It's very annoying. Lastly I really wish it was a one a day pill instead of two, but that's something that could be overlooked if it wasn't for the other issues as well.So to surmise, I'll have to switch back to my old prenatal which is disappointing, especially considering the price of these pills.Kira
I used these throughout my pregnancy (I'm about to have our sweet baby in a week or so), and plan to finish up my almost-full bottle postpartum. I love the price, the ease of ordering and cancelling/moving shipping dates, and the fun packaging. The company in INCREDIBLY thoughtful- I have reordered every month for about 9 months, and in the last 2-3 months they've included some samples for me! I was so pleasantly surprised that they went above and beyond and did that for me. These products also always contain a handwritten note (LOVE) and they have all been prayed over. In addition to the B-complex derived from fruit and vegetables, it contains digestive enzymes and other probiotics /the ingredient list is truly impressive!/. It’s also great that they use real Folate instead of Folic acid which is an artificial derivative. I definitely feel better and have more energy when I am taking this regularly. Vitamin Code's RAW line is exceptional in terms of quality. The vitamins are made naturally, so they are, actually, food, and your body therefore takes them up more easily and readily. Unfortunately, these vitamins are quite expensive (due to the much more expensive process to make them), so you have to think a bit about your priorities. One reason many people choose the RAW vitamins are that "you can take them with food or without, because they ARE food"– that's what the company says. It's true, of course, but I don't buy into this idea personally. I think all vitamins work synergistically, and when you pop the pills in your mouth, you should pair it with food and other supplements you take. (Note: this does not apply to amino acids or many herbs, many of which should ideally be taken on empty stomachs, and NOT with food.) Back to the review: These RAW vitamins are top-notch, as I said, and I highly recommend them. Among other fantastic attributes, B vitamin helps relax the muscles, and I therefore take one every night before I go to bed (along with magnesium and zinc, which also promote relaxation). The suggested dose on this one is 2 per day, and I take one morning and one night. Because it is a food-derived vitamin, I think a greater percentage is absorbed by the body, and therefore there is no need to hike up the doses, as many people do with B vitamins (because it is a water-based vitamin, you cannot overdose on it). I took these Prenatal a whole month before TTC. Luckily, I only took 27 pills. Thinking I was doing justice to my body, I am now disappointed. I used Vitex and this supplement only and low and behold 8dpo I got a BFP! But the moment my HCG level began to rise, it became more difficult for me to stomach Vitamin Code Prenatal. It got to the point where I literally was gagging each time, I opened the top or tried to take the pill. My body literally rejected the pill, and I couldn't take it anymore. I started to get horrible acne and my lips became unbearably dry. I don't know what is in them but it's a "NO" for me. I have begun taking Ancient Nutrition Prenatal and feel wonderful. No nausea, no smell, no dry lips, no acne, and no symptoms yet! I hope that these supplements didn't do anything that will cause harm to baby. Purchased Thorne Prenatal due to all the rave reviews from research… but 3x/day doesn’t mean these pills are small. In fact, these pills are much bigger than any other prenatals I’ve taken (theralogix, rainbow light, one a day, etc)! AND, they have a terrible sulphur smell (and taste, should you not be able to swallow it quickly with one gulp)! My bottles have 06-2024 expiration dates. ACTUALLY WORKS!!! I have hair to my hips and noticed significant thinning within the past 6 months or so. I started using these vitamins after being told about them by not one, but TWO dermatologists out of separate offices where I have gotten my routine skin checks. I went ahead and tried it despite the hefty price tag (about $80 per bottle which is a one month supply). The bottle contains 120 capsules, so four pills a day. According to the label the potency is so high that I went ahead and started using half of the recommended dose, or two pills a day instead of four. Since I have acne prone skin I didn’t want to take an excessive amount of biotin which can make my acne worse (and deeper). Just two pills a day for almost one month and I have baby hairs growing back where my hairline has been receding! It’s incredible! Pills are easy to swallow, great ingredients with no clean fillers. I will continue to use for at least the next six months to decide if I should continue, depending on regrowth or thickness which will hopefully come back. Easy installation. If your car doesn't have ISO connectors I can recomment buying a car specific adapter cable. I got one for my Astra and it made installation a whole lot easier. Easy connection through Bluetooth. Playing music through the Bluetooth link sounds good, as do phonecalls. No echo on both ends of the connection. The phone button starts googe search on your phone.
