I’ve been using this product for a couple weeks now and it has already done wonders for my hair. I naturally have very coarse, thick, dry hair and use a litany of oils and deep conditioners to keep my hair maintained. I feel like using this product consistently may alleviate that. This oil is on the thicker side, (which helps weigh down my thick hair- in a good way) and initially smells fruity / clean but somehow dries down to a more masculine clean scent (which I prefer for my hair). I have dry, bleach dyed blonde hair and the humidity makes my hair so frizzy and tangled. It has a natural smell that didn’t bother me and the texture wasn’t too thick, thin, or oily. I think I found another go to product to help tame this mane. I loved the frizz-free results that stopped frizz at my hairline without making my hair greasy (AMAZEBALLS), but whew, the smell is awful. Luckily the smell goes away after thirty minutes or so. I have medium thick 2B wavy/ curly frizzy hair and I have one heck of a time trying to get my hair under control. I used this, in combination with the Dyson Airwrap, Verb Ghost oil (for shine), Verb Ghost hairspray (for hold), and IGK Good Behavior Smoothing Balm. I was pretty impressed by the results. For an amateur it was an easy at home blow out, and my results have held for 3 days without my hair looking greasy or wild. If you are on the fence I would say try it if you can get past the smell for the amazing results. This one was the cherry on top of the cake when it comes to making my hair oily. It was hard to wash out the next cycle and wow it sure made my smell like outdated, expired old lady perfume. Just no, whatever this scent is, they should change it and remove the ingredients that leave the film. OGX itself is an amazing brand- something to keep in mind is that I am super picky when it comes to hair products because I love to touch my hair and play with it. Scent is also very important to me as hair makes up a majority of what individuals smell when you have a lot of it- and I have a ton. I used this as well as the brand’s silk blowout spray so I’m not sure how much of the result is this product or that product BUT this spray smells so so good and makes my hair feel super super soft. The way it sprays isn’t very good though, it kind of shoots out and hits just one spot. You are probably better off spraying it in your hands and working it into your hair. I didn't like this spray at first, but it def grew on me, here to order more. It literally is the only thing I can find that works for static fly away for my thin hair. DO NOT spray it directly on scalp area, it will leave ur hair feeling dirty. I use it on dry hair and mist the sides lightly using my hand to slide down my hair so that its in evenly. I do have to carry it with me to work as I find it needs a second application due to wearing my winter coat and sweaters, friction etc. gets my hair all re-staticy. This product was recommended by an Ulta consultant. I like to have my long hair (about eight inches past my shoulders) smooth and straight. It is like hay and very frizzy even when it's not humid. When I worked in Florida and other parts of the south and lived on the coast in California I never found a product that would tame my hair. This product works for me. I have used it during the Arizona monsoons, on a boat excursion in San Francisco and in Ft. Bragg where it is very humid and damp. I don't use it per the instructions on the container. I wash my hair, blow it out with a brush (at this point it is still very frizzy), then use a flat iron (before the humidity gets to it, this is what it should look like), then I immediately spray some in my hands and run them through my hair (don't use so much that it dampens the hair). Optionally I use a curling iron on the top most layers to give it a dressier look. I sometimes use hairspray to hold the curls in place. When I comb out the hairspray it stays smooth. Then my hair is never frizzy until I wash it two or three days later.Review

I really love this stuff, but from reading the reviews I see where other people thought it was going to do much more than it actually does.. which is probably from the wording on the bottle. I've used this stuff since a hairdresser put it on my 14 year-old self and my over bleached hair. Back then, I didn't even read the bottle I just knew I could straighten the life out of my hair then spritz this on and it would look semi healthy again. NOW my hair is MUCH healthier and I probably get a bottle of this once every year. All it does for me is adds a healthy looking layer of shine to the dull spots of my hair after styling. I read several of the reviews after I tried this and this appears to have worked for some thick hair people, but I saw other fine hair people stating that it turned their hair brittle and dry, which is the experience I had. I thought it was a different product I got on the same day that damaged my hair, so I used this a second time and my hair felt as if half of it had disappeared, it felt thin and lost all volume. The mids and ends were uncomfortably dry, split and brittle afterward. I’m trying desperately to repair the severe damage this product caused with oils and Olaplex, but it will take time. My hair is pink and it’s having a hard time holding color now. This product needs to have a warning that it’s unsuitable and dangerous for some hair types. When a product doesn't work, I wait til the last minute to review because I give it multiple chances. The only thing this product said that was true is that you would feel heat. My hair didn't get shiner or glass like, in fact it got a little frizzy. Directions are simple as is application. However for the amount you have to use makes the size of the product laughable especially if you have to repeat. You'd have to purchase the product weekly. That would be expensive. 11/10!! I love this product!! I have dark hair so it makes it look extra shiny after I wash it! Plus, it makes it smell super good too. I was nervous that this product was going to end up drying out my hair, but it doesn’t at all!! After I use it, I just condition as normal, and my hair feels sleek and smooth for days after I wash. I always just let my hair air dry, but I’m sure with a little product or oil and a blow dry, it would make your hair look even more shiny!! Another thing I like about this product is that a little goes a long way. My hair is down to my waste, so typically when using hair products, I need a lot to reach the desired effect. The bottle for this product has “doses” on it so you know how much to use, and really I only need to use like 1 1/2 doses per wash. Though I do only wash my hair like twice a week, I have had this bottle for about a month now, and I still have about half the bottle left. In the instructions of how to use this oil, it says to work it though hair after a blowout. Very often, I blow out my hair with the Dyson Airwrap round brush and self-grip rollers. Self-grip rollers have a tendency to pull at the hair and break off small strands. I definitely think this oil is great at smoothing those strands after the blow out. You don’t even have to use a full pump for the oil to do that job. With either 1 full pump or less, the oil smooths the hair without ruining the blow out or making it greasy. My hair gets greasy QUICKLY after washing, so I really enjoy that I can use this oil for blow outs & it doesn’t affect the time in which my hair usually starts getting greasy. Also in the instructions, it says you can use this oil in your hair before washing. I’ve done this a handful of times now. I find the oil dries down in a fair amount of time, so I like that I can douse my hair with multiple pumps, put it in a pony tail, and after about an hour, it looks normal enough to do do things that I don’t have to look really impressive for (ex: errands). However, I notice when I completely oiling my hair up with this, it’s rather drying in comparison to other oils. For instance, I also use the Shea Moisture 100% Argan Oil, which is much cheaper, and it gives my hair that smooth oily feel that I aim for prior to washing. With this oil, I find that myself going back and re-oiling my hair due to the dry feeling. Again, I’ve only used it as a prewash a handful of times, so I have NOT noticed yet that the dryness is a lasting affect after I wash. I haven’t tried this yet on wet hair. Overall, it’s great for blow outs since a small pump goes far and it is light weight. When using larger amounts, I notice the hair feels more than dry than oily, and I worry this will eventually affect the dryness of my hair. This was so extremely disappointing, I even tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and used up the entire thing before giving my review. I honestly love so many Ouai hair products, their detox shampoo and scalp scrub are some of my absolute favorites! Unfortunately this was such a dud, I honestly cannot believe how many positive reviews this has received. First thing, the smell is atrocious. I like nice smelling products, and even if its unscented or a mild scent I usually don't mind but THIS! I could not get over the scent, its a very woody/herb/patchouli scent and its STRONG. Next issue I had with this is that it didn't really hydrate my hair, if anything it felt more dry after, it didn't really absorb and just sat on the hair looking wet/oily. I purchased this to deal with my frizzy coarse hair that has been misbehaving badly with all the wet weather in Sydney. The product claims that the styling effect will last up to 3 days or until the next wash. The instructions say to use on damp or wet hair so I use it while drying my hair after a wash. It is heat-activated, so you need a hair dryer, and preferably finish with a flat iron. On my thick long hair I need about 15-20 sprays and comb through. The product does assist with heat protection and styling, and my hair does look smooth and straight as it usually does after using a flat iron. I use this on my hair when it’s damp/wet to help keep it smooth. I have a LOT of very long, very straight hair of medium thickness. I use two pumps and apply from my ears down and work it through my hair. I air dry my hair but when I occasionally blow dry it, this works just as well. I don’t apply it to my roots. It smells amazing, high praise coming from me as I’m sensitive to scents! It’s fruity and a bit sweet, but not overpowering once my hair dries. I bought this cuz I saw all the good reviews about it. I’ve had several different serums at home but when I tried this for the first time, I’m in love. Not only is it lightweight, but the scent smells awesome too! The quality is good, it made my hair soft and tangle-free. Hair is so much smoother, silkier and no frizz at all. Doesn’t make my hair oily too. I attached a pic of my hair after using this serum however, I would like to point out that in order to achieve what I’ve shown in the pic, you can’t just rely on one product. I did use garnier anti-humidity leave-in conditioner on damp hair before using my heat protectant to blow dry. Right after that I applied this serum and then DAvines OI Oil as a finishing (another great product). The serum itself is good, I only used it from mid lengths to ends. The packaging size tho, it’s quite small. BUT! Only 2 small pumps is enough for my hair (I’m southeast asian and my hair length is below my chest, it’s medium thick) so a little goes a long way! If you have thicker hair, you need to section your hair to a few parts, I only sectioned to 2 because it’s not that thick. I have naturally quite thick and wavy, long hair and was looking for a product to help tame the frizz I get in more humid weather. I’m not sure if I’ve noticed much of a difference with the frizz, but have noticed that the cream unfortunately does give my ends a little bit of a “crunch” after blowdrying. The cream itself is quite nice to apply to damp hair and has simple, effective packaging. However, I don’t love it for me! I think I will go with a spray next time just because the amount of hair I have means I end up using a lot of product to get the heat protection.
I have mid-back length, very fine, straight hair. I bleach it regularly and while it does have a little bit of damage, my main concern is that it gets frizzy and tangled, especially during these humid summer months. Redken Frizz Dismiss conditioner has been somewhat helpful in keeping my hair under control. While I still have some frizz and tangles towards the ends of my hair, it has helped in making my hair softer and more healthy looking. This conditioner has a very nice scent to it, somewhat like a mixture of vanilla and fruits. The scent smells great when applying, but it does not have any lasting power on the hair unfortunately. The large bottle is very convenient, and will last for a very long time! I do have a hard time using the bottle though. It is too heavy to hold one handed, and the product is too thick to squeeze out. I will have to purchase a pump lid or a smaller bottle to transfer the product to, and I would have much preferred if the bottle came with a pump lid already attached. This is hands down the best product for my hair. I use the Frizz Dismiss shampoo and conditioner combo, and need no other products. My hair is long, blonde, and super fine, but I have a lot of it. I have quite a combination of curly – to – straight hair, which can result in a hard-to-manage frizz situation. Other non-frizz products weigh my hair down too much and take away any volume or wave. This does not. Because my hair is so fine, I must take very good care of it for it to grow out long and stay that way, while still looking full and healthy. Redken Frizz Dismiss is absolutely the best for my hair. For comparison, I would otherwise use Biolage Smoothproof shampoo/conditioner – which works and is good, but for my hair type this Redken is a strong number 1. I have spent months trying curl products. I have tried CurlSmith, CurlMix, Bumble & Bumble, CurlyWorld, and Monat. All of these had their strengths and weaknesses, but for my curl type it didn’t vibe. First week using Ouidad—I was so hooked. It’s clean ingredients, water soluble, and has product for every curl type. My Curls are bouncy, light, and so moisturized. Just for reference, this was purchased for and used on biracial, relatively thick, spiral curly hair. This is a very lightweight, non greasy product with relatively good slip. It ends there. If this was the only product you wanted to use. No gel, no mouse, no oils, no creams, no leave in, no frizz control, I mean zero other products, then this might work for you. It immediately interacts with other products by leaving white clumps all over your hair. It doesn't matter if you use less/more of it or if you use less/more of the other, it is a disaster. I've tried this with SEVERAL other products from different lines and it always ends with the same result. It doesn't absorb later and disappear, instead the clumps turn into white flakes. I gave it three stars because it doesn’t really work that well with my curly hair. I just started used ouidad products so there’s a learning curve. I have coily and s shaped curls. It’s a blend of two different types of curls. The gel would work very well for someone whose hair is not coily like mine. I need something a bit different or stronger. I would say that in comparison to million other products that I have tried, it’s one of the better ones. It doesn’t make my hair feel crunchy which is great. I've struggled with finding products to tame my type 3B curls for as long as I can remember. I have tried mousse, leave-in conditioners, gels, and all kinds of creams. The product is a clear gel and you need only use a dime or quarter size amount depending on how thick/long your hair is. The product has a very natural, floral smell that doesn't overwhelm you. I use this product every day with my Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave In Conditioning Cream and they work extremely well together. This lightweight gel helps tame frizz while also letting the curls keep their natural shape without any crunchiness or residue. I have used this gel for over a year now and it has become a staple in my hair-care products. The product locks moisture in your hair and leaves it hydrated all day. A bottle of this product lasts me about three-four months. This product really does it all when it comes to taming frizz and moisturizing curly hair, but that is to be expected given that the bottle is almost $30 for only 8.5 FL. OZ. When you think about it, this high price does get to be too expensive for a smaller bottle when you use this product on a daily basis, but I have yet to find any other products that work as well as this one does with my hair. I have 2C, high density, coarse, porous, long hair. Since adding heavy highlights to blend the grays, my hair has been a dry, frizzy nightmare! I have read endless product reviews, watched countless You Tube Videos regarding care and products for my hair. I use a leave in conditioner applied in the shower to soaking wet hair. I then use a curl primer. I scrunch these products into hair and micro plop to remove excess water. I then apply curl keeper just like gel, using praying hands method to coat each curl. I add more to the crown and smooth over waves. I then plop for 10-30 minutes depending on if I’m air drying or diffusing.
I actually prefer to air dry and this product allows that, though it takes hours to dry. Can form a slight cast which I actually love. Once fully dry any crunch is easily scrunched out. I NEVER have shine in my hair due to the coarse texture but with this my curls are defined and shiny. Best part is that even in high humidity this holds perfectly.
I cannot speak to 2nd or 3rd day hair as I haven’t been able to test this part yet.

I NEVER have shine in my hair due to the coarse texture but with this my curls are defined and shiny. Best part is that even in high humidity this holds perfectly.
I cannot speak to 2nd or 3rd day hair as I haven’t been able to test this part yet.

I was hesitant to buy this because of the bad reviews, but it was on offer in my local store so I thought I would try it out. I have naturally straight (with a very slight wave) and thick hair and I have been dealing with frizz and fly aways because of the summer humidity and wet weather. I use this serum in conjunction with the dream lengths conditioner (not the shampoo as it makes me look oily), wonder water, and no hair cut cream. It makes my hair soft and shiny without weighing it down or making it look oily. It tames frizz and flyaways but over time I need to reapply on dry hair to smooth it out again. An added bonus is that it smells great and it offers heat protection which will help with preventing frizz too! Overall I think it's a good serum for my hair type, but I guess it might not work so well for others.Carys25
Enjoying this hair serum on my fly away baby hairs this summer. It gives my hair a nice shine and not too oily if the right amount is used. I do have thin hair so if I overdo it, this is too much. The only reason it’s 4 stars is because it doesn’t last long at taming frizz. I find myself going back to apply more after a few hours if I can for a refreshed hair look. I do love using this before my heat tools and my hair has grown a lot and stayed healthy!isabella.m
Fantastic product. My hair was quite dry and frizzy, whilst the ends just looked dead and messy. I bought this and saw a massive difference in my hair condition from the offset. I use about 4 pumps throughout the lengths and it really smoothes the hair and makes it look so much healthier and shinier. This nourishing hair oil from Sol de Janeiro performs pretty well, and I love that it has the classic scent from their Bum Bum cream! The bottle is beautiful and made of weighted glass, giving it a lux feel. The formula is rich and definitely on the thicker side, but once warming in between my fingers I am able to apply it easily. Just 1-2 pumps is enough to disperse throughout my ends to mid-length without going overboard (I have relatively long hair). I can also confirm that it works to calm frizzies, makes my hair more manageable and gives a nice shine. While it is nourishing to a degree as well, I wish it delivered more moisture into my hair. Adding more doesn’t seem to do much for hydration, while adding too much just makes my hair look greasy and slick as expected. Despite that drawback, I still think this makes a great light hair oil overall. I received this complimentary in exchange for my honest review.Alyeeh
I really enjoy this hair oil, especially the smell! The fragrance is the same as the original fragrance in the rest of the line. The smell is really heavy, but not overwhelming. It does calm down, but you’ll still be able to smell it all day. I have long thick hair with dry ends and rely on oils and and sprays to keep it soft and manageable. Most oils I will use a dime sized portion, but this product comes in a glass bottle with a dispenser that only puts out one drop at a time. The consistency is tick, even sticky, more like a serum than a runny oil. Being so thick, using more than a drop or 2 does leave my hair greasy. It’s well worth the price and I’ll definitely repurchase for the fragrance alone, but it won’t replace my other products that I still need for tangles and frizz. My only real complaint is that a glass bottle and oily hands don’t mix – I’ve dropped it several times and worry it will shatter one of these days. Just be super careful with that and you’ll love it!alexrae
Ok, so I bought this on the app early access day and will give my honest review. I use many different oils as I like to switch up my products every time I wash my hair, including Moroccan oil, olaplex oil, Dae prickly pair oil, ouia oil, gisou and briogeo don’t despair repair hair oil. Compared to all of those, this is by far the thickest oil for sure. I have thick straight hair and a lot of it, so I can get away with a good amount of oil. I am a stay at home mom so I have times where I actually use products to style my hair, and times where I put in more nutrient moisturizing products to just let it sit in a bun. This oil is definitely better distributed on damp hair, on dry hair it’s kind of thick and skips as you run your fingers through but I have to say it smells AMAZING and does have a few unique ingredients which I look for when buying hair care. With that being said this is definitely more of a treatment oil for me that a styling oil and it gives self care vibes with the smell so I give it a 5 star! Would be nice if it was slightly less thick but I’m sure that’s due to the unique ingredients. Sorry for the long review! Smell and texture is lovely, but having a difficult time finding the right amount to use for my hair in order to get it to "do" something without making it heavy/greasy. I have long, thick, 2C/3A hair and use Hairstory New Wash for cleansing. I was just looking for something that gave my curls some extra moisture and definition with minimal hold. I can see how this might be a better product for straighter hair or even curlier hair that has a clearly defined curl pattern straight out of the shower. On a sidenote, if your skin is sensitive to fragrance, I would avoid this. I have sensitive skin and allowing my hair to air dry causes irritation where the product comes in contact with my face and neck (via my wet hair).Rachel L.
This is a great product! A little goes a long way. It is pretty pricey, but I won't dock a star just for the price. It feels very light and absorbs almost immediately, leaving my hair nicely hydrated. I found this product when I was searching for a silicone-free product that makes the hair feel like it has silicone in it. For context, I love the way silicones initially make my hair feel, but then they require removal with relatively harsher shampoos and my hair ends up feely quite dry if I use silicone-heavy products too frequently. If your hair is silicone-sensitive in a similar manner, then this product is definitely a good one to try! I have been using this for over a year as a leave in conditioner, flyaway tamer, and general mood booster because it smells ah-mazing. I have worn my hair naturally curly in the past year and a few months ago got a keratin treatment. Milk has been helpful in both situations to keep hair looking and feeling hydrated, and I use it on damp hair as well as dry hair. When I'm traveling and am short on space, I pack this for multipurpose hair conditioning needs. It does not have any hold, so it's not really for styling (at least not for my thick hair).Natasha

I am about 1 year into my CGM journey, and at this point – I rarely find products that work as well as my hair's natural oils. Even though I try to avoid shampoo, when I do use it (before hot tools or after about 3-4 weeks of conditioner rinses) I need to add a bit of moisture to make up for what I've rid my curls of. I tried this product after a wash day. It is one of the only products I've tried recently that actually feels natural in my hair. It helps to define curls and rid frizz. It dries with a light cast, but just enough for my hair to clump not enough to leave a waxy/dry texture like other competing products. I rarely feel comfortable using only one product. It's either a natural look sans products, or a mix of products (leave-in, oil, cream, maybe gel and spray etc., Depending on the style). This product is a mix of both worlds; leaves my hair natural looking without being too fluffy, yet offers enough moisture and oil for clumping without being heavy. Love the shine it adds. Ouai Curl Crème saves time for me since it's a cream + oil + hydrator + styling product. Great for traveling with. Easy to refresh dry hair with or style wet hair with. The scent is so luxuriously floral yet sweet, the packaging looks elegantly simple, and the bit about the "ex" on the packaging gave me a good chuckle. Ouai Curl Crème has my curls screaming, "oui, oui!" I have natural roots, ends relaxed and dyed (damaged), mix of curl textures (2b-3c), long length. This product is clearly a creme that is not shy to define, and give your hair a subtle yet noticeable shine. IMMEDIATELY after drenching my hair in water, and applying the product, I barely had to touch my hair, and the definition was VERY apparent. Y'all, when I say, I was shook… I have never in all of my 21 years of life had a product instantly define my hair upon application. I barely had to finger comb. It for sure provides a nice element of moisture as well, and I find that the more I've used it these past couple of weeks, the softer my hair is getting. I'm not 100% sure if it's this product, or some of the other products that I've been using in my hair for the time being, but I do know that this is clearly the moisture and defining agent in the squad of hair products I've been using. This product has chia & linseed oil, babassu oil, and coconut oil in it, which are clearly carrying the product and running so that it doesn't even have to jog on it's own. Babassu oil is known as an oil that promotes high moisture retention, which seals the moisture into your hair shaft (ideal for high porosity hair types), and you know lack of moisture retaining products in your haircare routine is one of the #1 causes for breakage. Chia seeds are rich in fatty acids which work to not only penetrate your hair shaft (great for low porosity hair types), but seal in the moisture as well. Linseed oil is the same as flaxseed oil, which is high in vitamin E, and not only treats hair loss, but promotes growth. For my dry scalp peeps, flaxseed oil also can be used to prevent dandruff, and can provide relief. If you have damaged hair, or chemically processed hair, this is very ideal, since it has great moisture retaining properties, and it seals damaged cuticles. I have pretty curly hair but it's very fine and I was worried this cream would be too heavy but that is not the case at all! I use this on my hair while it's wet by section with a denman brush and my curls look incredible. if you diffuse, it creates a great mask for the curls that you can brush out after. my curls seriously last 3 days through workouts, sleep (I plop/pineapple my hair without a bonnet and they stay!) DC humidity, all of it. I use it with the OUAI medium shampoo and conditoner, and it's smells great! not perfumy or overwhelming. cannot recommend this more! in my pictures the one in the green shirt is day 3 curls, the other one is day one.larklewis

I didn't like this spray at first, but it def grew on me, here to order more. It literally is the only thing I can find that works for static fly away for my thin hair. DO NOT spray it directly on scalp area, it will leave ur hair feeling dirty. I use it on dry hair and mist the sides lightly using my hand to slide down my hair so that its in evenly. I do have to carry it with me to work as I find it needs a second application due to wearing my winter coat and sweaters, friction etc. gets my hair all re-staticy. So my hair is already prone to frizz, and the damage from the dye & heat doesn't help. After I get my hair straight, it's still puffy and doesn't look good. I put a pump of this on my hands and fingercomb it thru the bottom half of my hair haphazardly and VOILA! I instantly have sleek piecey styled hair. ALL other oils or serums I've tried have been too heavy, or caused all of my hair to be greasy by the next day. This is the absolute perfect formula for my white girl hair and worth every penny. I have used it during the Arizona monsoons, on a boat excursion in San Francisco and in Ft. Bragg where it is very humid and damp. I don't use it per the instructions on the container. I wash my hair, blow it out with a brush (at this point it is still very frizzy), then use a flat iron (before the humidity gets to it, this is what it should look like), then I immediately spray some in my hands and run them through my hair (don't use so much that it dampens the hair). Optionally I use a curling iron on the top most layers to give it a dressier look. I sometimes use hairspray to hold the curls in place. When I comb out the hairspray it stays smooth.
