I like this product. I've been using it for a while. It definitely has a good hold on your hair without making it look like there's anything in your hair. I would recommend maybe adding some natural ingredients to make it smell a little better, if possible. Also, I don't know who did the wrapping, but filling up the entire box with confetti paper for a small container of this cream pomade was not the move. If it's like an environmentally friendly thing, I get it, but find a new option. I recently bought American Crew Fiber Cream 3.3 oz (not the first time via Walmart online)but this time the bottle had some transparent and very liquid substance inside instead of a creamy fiber texture. I still have the old one and the labels on the bottles are the same "American Crew Fiber Cream". I love American crew products, and this fiber cream is by far my favorite of the line now. This product is not a over thick cream, doesn’t dry, flake, or become hard, or greasy. A softer more moldable cream version of fiber for those who used it long ago. A very small amount in towel dry hair. My hair is about 3 inches, and works great. A true medium hold. I'm so pleasantly surprised by this paste! I've been using Paul Mitchell's Wax Works for many years but Ulta was out so I opted to try something new. I've tried many styling products over the years and it's hard to find a texture product that doesn't weigh down my fine hair or leave me with a sticky product feel in my hair. This paste hold my style all day, better than anything I've used. I wore a beanie outside in the cold and when I removed the hat, my hair popped right back up! I have very fine, high porosity (very absorbent), blonde curly hair. I don't have the best of luck with styling creams, some work and some weigh my hair down, some feel very crispy, some make my hair look instantly greasy. This stuff works! I wash and condition (sun bum regular or Pacifica pineapple curls) and then put a little of this styling cream into my wet but not sopping wet hair. Then I sleep on it and in the morning my hair is good to go. Nice natural looking and feeling curls that stay in. As someone who has stick straight hair, I love this product. A disclaimer, my hair is not capable of getting that cute scrunched look. If I want curls, heat is my only option. I have 3 different textures of hair: the front/sides are soft, tight spirals, the back is frizzy, tight spirals, and the underneath is soft and wavy at most. This curl cream brings out the best in all 3 textures and makes all of my hair wildly soft!! I've been a huge fan of Sun Bum for a few years now, so I was amped when I saw that they made special curly hair products! This costs about twice as much as my old curl cream, however, I use about 1/2 to 2/3 what I used to use, and my hair is 10 times as happy. Plus, I trust Sun Bum's commitment to loving the ocean, which is an important factor to consider when choosing your products. I've also been using it with shampoo/conditioners other than Sun Bum's until I finish my old stockpile, and this cream is a stand-alone master. This is my new favorite hair product. As someone with a lot of hair, but very fine hair, it’s hard to find a product that doesn’t weigh me down- this allows for my hair to have shape and volume that lasts. The best results I’ve had came from using a denman brush to curl my hair, smoothing the roots over once. This method achieved beautiful formed waves for three days after. Verb is much less expensive than other curl products I’ve tried and it out performs all of them. I would highly recommend this to anyone with loose curls or waves, especially those with fine frizz prone hair like me. For reference I use this after I wash my hair with a kevin murphy cowash. Wow, I love this! I was hesitant because I see a lot of influencers use it and I always worry that that over hype things. But it really does reduce frizz and hold curl. A little goes a very long way, so it is easy to overdo it. My hair is 2C/3A and I live in a pretty dry climate and this was the perfect balance. I will say it did seem to "weigh down" my hair a bit more than other products, however, I'll take slightly less volume to have non-frizzy and light curls. Overall not a bad hair product, and gives you the light hold it advertises. I tried it on both wet and dry hair and the results are a bit different. If you want to get a bit more hold I'd say apply it while your hair is still damp. If you're just looking to tame flyaways and freshen up your hair go for it dry. Only slight negative is the scent. Has a distinct barber shop kind of scent, which is not my taste but I know a lot of guys will probably like it. I’ve always been a bit iffy on adding on sea salt spray as part of my routine but I decided to give it a try (apart from the small sample I’ve used) and I’m glad I did. Not only do I use this daily, I sometimes skip the gel and use the spray to fix my bed hair when I'm running late. I hated the residue that it left on my hair and the lack of my hair feeling clean after using this. My ex-husband was very bad about using the last of a product once it got down to the bottom of it. Anyone who dyes their hair copper knows that copper pigmented hair dye will not stay onto the hair particle for long. A brand new copper color hair do will last about a week or two before it fades into a honey brown color, and eventually a yellow-brown color. With this in mind, there are products that will help to prolong the dye coloration and slow down the fade process, and I turn to Redken shampoo every time to get the job done whenever I need to prolong my copper dye. I use this along with the Redken conditioner Color Extend and shampoo three x a week, conditioner once a week, and my copper pigmented color will last about 2 months before it fades onto a honey brown and eventually to a yellowish brown by the 4 months mark. I have used the American Crew Fiber and Pomade. This product, the "Forming Cream" I would describe as the middle, the perfect balance. My hair is thick, somewhat coarse, yet soft. I wear my hair short, almost like a buzz and usually let it grow longer so that I can comb it over (by longer I'm talking 4-5 inches on the top, sometimes more). What I didn't like about Fiber is that it can be too clay like and usually made my hair too stiff. I found fiber to work best the shorter my hair was, but even then it was a super strong and stiff hold. It was actually working as intended, but not to my liking. What I didn't like about Pomade was the high shine and depending on how much used, greasy feel to my hair. Compared several products in the store for about 1/2 before deciding to get this item. Will probably be buying this item regularly. Also, I do not use this product every day as I have found that using it maybe a few times a week ( 3 times at most or every other day) and just moving the natural texture of my hair around provides adequate grooming keeping my hair looking natural and not stiff or saturated with hair grease and gook. I have short, slightly soft, and loose curly wavy hair that is probably less coarse and kinky where the texture of this cream is stiff enough to provide definition but not so stiff that it flakes up or feels greasy to the touch. I did not expect much from this product having purchased it to fix up my hair after being unable to afford a haircut for a pending job interview. I didn't get the job but my hair still looks great from the product and save me $35 at the barber.Michael
I started using this cream because a friend of mine said that it would tame my hair LOL. I have a ton of very wavy hair that could have been very pretty curls with the right stuff well… This is definitely the right stuff. Before I've used this my hair was frizzy, wavy but not soft and silky. Once I started using this turn my curls into beautiful 1 and my hair nail looks healthy shiny and the frizzies are all gone! I used this many years ago when I was relaxing my hair to smooth it while drying under hood dryers. When I transitioned to natural hair, I tried almost every product on the market until I got my hair cut and asked the stylist what she liked for natural hair. When she mentioned this product I remembered the results on relaxed hair so I bought some immediately. I wash and apply about a quarter size amount twice to my hair which is short on the sides and long on top. I can easily detangle the top and twist single curls all over; let them dry and pull apart the next day for fabulous curls that last the week. I still two strand twist them anyway at nite but there really is no need. My hair is thick 4B/C and this gives it moisture and shine. I also use a twist sponge with the product on the sides to make the curls pop – loads of compliments and looks of approval. The 8oz bottle will last months; a little goes a Loooonnnggg way.KP
I use to use this product in high school 30 years ago- permed long curly coarse hair and I loved the product. Soft bouncy no frizz curls. Decided to try it again on my straight coarse colored hair. Unfortunately this product didn't work for me at all. I have fine wavy-curly GREY hair. I used the product as directed and my hair became extremely DRY and stuck out every where. It did not feel soft and my waves & curls were gone. I like my hair soft, curls and waves defined and frizz free if possible. I am not sure why this product did not work for me. I bought this product to enhance my natural waves and wanting to be a curly girl. I was sold instantly on the smell initially it’s divine! After washing my hair and towel drying it I applied the product and scrunched it in I got the waves but my hair felt really awful, looks good but doesn’t feel great. For a better feel in your hair, use only on damp hair not on dry hair it must be damp. Killer waves I have. Buy this product yes for the smell and the waves.bellisa

This is the only gel that makes me hair curly/ wavy after I put it on, I don’t need to scrunch my hair to see results, it just starts to curl. After that of course I scrunch it to my desire of curliness* but this is in my top 5 of gels. I don’t like gels bc they contain a lot of harsh stuff that can damage and dry out your hair but this here is the best! You won’t go wrong and the smell is like.. in between masculine and feminine. I can’t describe the smell but in my opinion is smells great. Definitely not fruity, it’s smells woodsy I guess but again I’m not good at describing this. This is the best curl cream i have ever used! I tried so many creams and all kinds of mouse and they would be heavy and weighing down my hair or leave my hair crunchy which i hate so much i used about a dime size amount ( my hair is to the middle of my back) and i put it on my semi damp hair and now my hair is so soft and the best curls I've had in a while. I have fine curly hair that misbehaves between cuts, especially if I’m trying to grow it out. A combination of this product and the REDKEN CURVACEOUS RINGLET works really well as leave in conditioning products. I adjust the balance as my hair grows. If I need more weight I use slightly more of this product. If my hair is long enough and has good weight and needs definition or fly away management, I use the other.Donna T

I received this sample size product complimentary to try from Influenster and Moroccanoil for my honest review and opinion. I really liked the smell of this cream. My hair is kinda weird it’s curly underneath but on top it’s more wavy and frizzy. The parts where my hair is naturally more curly curled super pretty and looked great but the wavier pieces it didn’t change much. It felt a little heavy also but I may have just used to much product. I feel i would need to use it a few more times to give a more accurate review but right now I’d say it’s an average curl defining cream. I also let my hair air dry and I’m curious how it would look if I used a diffuser. I think I’ll end up buying a full size and give it a try. My daughter also has curlier hair than I do and I feel it may be better with her texture and curl. Overall I liked it and would recommend it for anyone with curlier hair.Meliss86
I LOVE this product and this whole brand. I was sent a sample of the curl defining cream and the smell won me over instantly. It just makes your hair smell so good. My husband thought it was my shampoo or conditioner, but he told me my hair smelt so good the first time I used this product. I even went and bought the perfect defense heat protector spray after they sent me this sample. I use it after I curl my hair with my straightener and it just makes my hair smell amazing, reduces any frizz left, and makes my curls bouncy. I also let my daughter use it and she loved it as well. She has super curly ringlets and used it after a shower and her curls looked so good. They were bouncy and frizzless. Received this as a free sample from Influenster. The sample size was a bit too small for me to get a full idea of how this product works for my hair specifically as I usually need a few weeks of use to make a fair judgement, but from a limited perspective, my takeaways are as follows: Smell- amazing, the standard MoroccanOil smell Texture- I prefer styling creams and used this in place of my current one and I did notice that this left a bit of a shell to my hair after use. If I had enough to try again, I may use a bit less product next time, though I didn’t use much. Seems pretty concentrated. If I had received a full bottle, I do think I’d continue to use it until it ran out but I don’t think I’ll be purchasing this item. Everyone’s hair is different and mine reacted sort of “meh.” Not bad but not impressive either. I think fans of the line will not regret the purchase, however I didn’t find that I had any urge to switch from my current styling cream (although this one smells so much better)roxanneh
