20 Best Products For Thick Coarse Hair (Feb 2023 Update)

I have a fine, thin and arm-length hair that lack volume snd that require daily washing (thanks to the genes in my family). I have used many, maany professional hair products to find which one would work best for me, many of them being professional brands and higher on the price range. Had my hopes high with this one, but unfortunately they were not met. The good things are the bigger amount (300ml vs standard 250ml) and not too strong scent. These are the pluses for the conditioner and shampoo. Unfortunately the conditioner is too heavy in my opinion and despite washing it off properly it still weighs down my hair plus I really have to wash it the next day (which with other brands sometimes doesn’t happen). I also noticed that my hair became more frizzy and just not looking good.. I will try to finish the bottle (half way through!) but won’t repurchase.Alicja

I do not have fine or thin hair, but it isn't course or thick – I just have a lot of it. Because of that I struggle with volume at the roots and most shampoos and conditions either clean my hair and leave me with a dry scalp and flat hair, or it is weighted down and gets oily quick. No matter what, I always have to use a volumizer and still dont achieve the hairs goals I dream of. FINALLY! The hair of my dreams has arrived!!!! (Actually, I am still working on growing it out) I took their quiz on Ouai's website and was recommended the medium shampoo & conditioner. I went with my gut after reading the ingredients/goals and got the fine shampoo & conditioner. MY FOREVER DUO! I have used this combo and both air dried my hair and blow-dried my hair. Each time my results were amazing!!!! Naturally air-drying my hair left me with loads of body and volume and not only looked healthy, clean and bouncy – but it also felt amazing and smelled wonderful. When I blow-dried my hair, I had so much volume and it did not fall at all. I wash my hair twice a week and have to use dry shampoo and with this combo I made it through workouts and sleeping crazy and still had clean hair. That is a FIRST!!! I switched to the Super Dry Shampoo before turning their shampoo/conditioner and loved it…now I don't even have to use it unless I want a little refresh but overall I am good to go. This brand is quickly winning me over with all of their hair products I’ve tried! I bought 3 travel sizes of products, including the Don’t Blow It Fine (H)air Styler. I decided to try it out when I showered last night. My hair is fine, flat, and straight. There has only been one time I’ve had beach wavy hair that looked good (and it was accidental—exciting, but I didn’t try to style it as such, nonetheless). Every other product left my waves crunchy, dirty looking, and incredibly unflattering. I’ll be honest, my expectations weren’t too high for Don’t Blow It because of all of the other products I’ve tried. After washing my hair and towel drying it, I applied BB’s Don’t Blow It according to the directions. I didn’t use a lot because I wasn’t sure how it would make my hair feel, but I noticed when I squeezed some into my hand that it’s consistency was totally different than anything else I’ve tried. I also noticed it had a nice, light, clean scent to it. Two pleasant surprises before I even applied it! Yay! As it was air drying, I would scrunch my hair a bit but that’s it. About 20-25 minutes after application I decided to take a look at how things were going, before heading to bed. I was SHOCKED! It works!! It was creating waves like I’ve never had! I wasn’t sure how it’d look this morning after sleeping on it but I was one happy lady when I laid down. Fast forward to this morning—I looked in the mirror and was speechless! This is the best hair product I think I have ever tried! My hair was always soft, shiny and naturally very curly – until it turned grey! The texture changed, it is coarse, frizzy and lost a lot of the curl. I have a cupboard full of products to try and calm the frizz and nothing worked. I just use a tiny amount of this Don't Blow It, Fine and it totally transforms my hair, it's now soft, curly again and frizz free and it stays frizz free in between washes! Love it!bikerb

I purchased this product many times and used it faithfully for years. I have curly 3b hair that is fine and thin, but very porous, prone to frizz, dries slowly, and damages easily. I liked the concept of this product – a single item that promised air dried “model off duty” cool girl locks. The formula is not a gel, butter, mousse, oil, or leave-in conditioner, which were the main options for girls with curls for years – none which were standalone – forcing me to purchase multiple products trying to find the elusive perfect combination/ratio of products.) Don’t Blow It was easy to toss into my gym bag for pre-work spin class. The packaging was secure and application was easy. It didn’t weigh down my individually fine strands or irritate my sensitive scalp. No perceived buildup and the scent was light and pleasant. No crunchiness, greasiness, flakes, or stickiness. However, the control, frizz protection, hydration, etc. provided were all pretty minimal. As a result, I couldn’t get great 2nd or 3rd day hair when using it. The presence of silicone so high in the ingredients list didn’t thrill me either. Expensive product to only get one day’s use out of as you need to fully coat small sections of hair for it to work. I have suffered for a long time with heat and chemical damaged hair that what fine, dry, breaking , splitting, wispy at the ends and just would not grow past my shoulders! Now it is the middle of my shoulder blades in two months maths and still feeling thick at the ends from when I had it cut in November. So far I am loving this! I have been having an issue with my hair and it thinning out. Since I have started to use this I have noticed a huge change in the effected area. It was not pricey at all, infact I think is super great price. I was looking into others that were more expensive and am so glad I found this because it is sure doing what it is supposed to. A little does a long way. It does have a little bit of a odor to it but it goes right away. Its not strong and smells often bother me. I will definitely be getting this again and I recommend getting this, if you need some help like I did. I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. I will repeat purchase, as this shampoo does strengthen & restore my hair due effective natural components: Jamaican Black Castor oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter & Peppermint. It's sulfate-free, eligible for colored hair, by the way. The scent is really extremely pleasant like parfume for hair. My man loves the aroma & makes compliments. The only minus that I detected is that as It nourishes hair, my hair becomes one day ahead in comparison with other shampoos with cleaning leading role, not restoring. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. I really like using these products and how my hair feels after using them. I ordered the whole set during the flash sale and when I received the products the shampoo, conditioning spray, and the conditioner weren't closed properly so most of the product was in the bottom of the box. I sent an email about the issue but I received another email for a link that doesn't work to open a ticket. No one has reached out to me and I have been sent the same link twice. My previous order the pumps on the bottles were broken. I just chalked that up to shipping but when the products are sent to you already opened, that's a whole other issue.Marcia W.

This is one of my top five shampoos for people who have a four c hair texture! The smell is amazing. It definitely gives off hints of pomegranate and honey which is the perfect snow combination. It provides a thick rich and full leather without having to use 17 pumps of shampoo. I Projects like that mielle products are parabens and sulfates paraffins and mineral oil all free. I will be the first to say that being that I have for sea hair this is not a detangling product. Moisturizing absolutely. Cleaning your hair it also removes all the impurities. I was a little disappointed when I received my black Friday package from Mielle. I have ordered before and have been pleased but this time it was like everything was thrown in a box and shipped. The box was so beat up its like the products could have came out and almost would have im certain had it been tossed around any more and I know that part wasn't so much their fault but I figured it would have been put into another box to ship to prevent that problem. The products had no confetti at least to soften how its thrown around everything was so greasy i thought for sure a product or 3 were leaking and also nothing was wrapped at least in bubble wrap considering how it was boxed up. It’s my first time using this and wow! I have very! thick Afro curly hair and it is very dehydrated I am constantly looking for products that hydrate, especially deep conditioners and shampoos. Get ready for a long review because I do not write reviews so this product is one of a kind for me to write a review! The texture of the balm is so luxurious and rich in moisture it glides on to the hair and encapsulates each strand in moisture and deep hydration! I left it on with a shower cap for about 5-10 mins and then rinsed it off. It revived my curls and my hair looked and felt so healthy. I will use a steamer for future treatments with this product to infuse it into the strands even further. I'm naturally a brunette & have had damaged hair for a few years from using flat irons daily and constantly coloring, and I recently decided to get a blonde balayage which made my hair even more damaged from the bleach. My ends have always been "crunchy" and dry. The first time I used this product I was completely blown away. I wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner and then apply it to my damp, clean hair in the shower for about 5-10 minutes (usually however long it takes me to wash my body & shave) and then rinse with COLD water to lock all the nutrients in. I apply a generous amount focusing mainly on my ends and then working my way up. Doing it this way distributes majority of the product to my ends and middle shaft, and minimally at the roots, otherwise my hair will be really greasy. It immediately makes my hair softer and smoother with little to no tangles. I wash my hair only 2-3 times per week, and I've been using it every time. I washed my hair last night without it and I could tell a difference before I even got out of the shower. My hair was crunchy, dry and unmanageable. When I use this product I can easily run a comb through it with little to no tangles, and I have no need to add any other product to my hair (if I'm letting it air dry, otherwise use a heat protector). It does have a smell to it that smells like dryer sheets or laundry detergent to me haha. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product! I might even try the shampoo&conditioner line.Claire

I received the Living Proof full thickening mousse free for review from PINCHme and I've honestly really enjoyed this product. This mousse is said to boost volume while holding your style and I would definitely agree with that claim. Its lightweight and smells quite nice. It's not a super airy mousse but it's not super dense either. It doesn't evaporate right away but it's not heavy or sticky at all. I have pretty long hair so instead of the standard egg size I typically use maybe two egg size dallops. It has been way too hot and humid here lately to do much with my hair, and while the directions say to blow-dry, I just can't. I apply it to my damp hair right after my shower and then I tie it up in a bun. When it's fully dry and I let it down, it's so full of volume and the texture is lovely. The waves are beautiful and they do hold all day. Many products of this type cause my hair to get frizzy and almost static like but this one doesn't do that. I get no flyaways or frizz with this mousse and my hair smells so great. It's a nice, light clean smell, very subtle. I've really enjoyed using this product and I would definitely recommend it. Oh, and I like the packaging as well. The button you press to dispense the mousse is a nice solid button. For those of us that have hands and fingers that might not work so well, I had no issues.ARain

For Baby Fine Hair People: This works! It's the only product I've found that actually makes my genuinely baby fine hair look thicker and appear to have some body. The effect lasts all day and onto the next if you decide not to wash your hair every day. I use it sparingly and blow dry carefully though, because it does make your hair a little stickier before it's dried. That can cause baby fine hair to break when combing. So use it, be very gentle when combing or brushing, and enjoy. This product works better for my baby fine hair than the Living Proof Full Thickening Cream. I found that product to be too greasy and it weighs my baby fines down. I wrote a long review about the LP Thickening Cream and dealing with baby fine hair in case that's helpful to anyone. My one complaint about LP products, or any in general, is fragrance. I'm picky about scents and would never wear this scent as a perfume, so why would I want it anywhere on my body? I wish all these products had a fragrance-free version.asnetall

On Baby Fine Hair and this product: I have real baby fine hair. Lots of people talk about having baby fine hair, but really don't. It's a mixed blessing. Straight baby fine hair is so smooth that clips, bands, etc. can slide out of it unless there's silicone on the inside of a clip to grip the hair. If your baby fine hair is light in color, it may be almost see-through when backlit. This is not great if you want to feel like you have a nice full head of hair. If you take a strand of baby fine hair and hold it parallel to the floor, the strand itself is such a small diameter that it forms almost a sharp 90-degree angle hanging straight down from the edge of your fingers; no curve of any sort as it hangs down. It's hard for straight baby fine hair to hold a curl unless you do harsh stuff to make it hold. That, in turn, damages your hair. Almost any processing damages baby fine hair. It's also very easy to break strands of baby fine hair so you have to comb or brush carefully. Baby fine hair will blow everywhere if there's the slightest breeze. In my case, that means I've always got messy hair. Light baby fine hair is a pain if it gets blown onto your face or into your eyelashes. You can feel it's there, but it's hard to see the individual delicate strands and hard to detect them with your fingers. That's the scoop on baby fines. You live with it and figure out how to deal with it. BUT, straight baby fine hair can be so shiny and smooth that it can look and feel as luxurious as silk when it's in good condition. Like babies' hair! This can be lovely if your hair is thick enough. I've tried this product as directed with bad results. The product is too oily or thick even when put on extremely sparingly, so it weighs my hair down, making it look unwashed and stringy. So, I decided to try to use it as a rinse after shampooing, and have had better luck. I distribute it throughout the hair from roots to tips and then rinse it out. Baby fine hair people will feel a kind of stickiness or roughness once it is rinsed out, and will have to comb their hair carefully so as not to break it, but it adds product in just the right amount for real baby fine hair to have some bounce and look thicker without weighing it down or making it look greasy. It's not going to be a dramatic difference though. I have had far better luck with the Living Proof Thickening Mousse. After trying what feels like hundreds of conditioners, mousses and creams that did nothing, LP Mousse has been my go-to product. It's the only product I've found that makes my hair look thicker and that lasts all day looking great. It makes me feel almost like I have normal-people-hair! But I take breaks. I found that blow-drying damages my hair too easily, and the mousse, although super effective at making my hair look thicker and giving it more body, makes my hair sticky enough that I break hair easily, even when combing gently. So, Baby Fine Sisters take note. You have to handle your hair really gently with these products. Personally, I'd opt for the LP mousse over the cream, and be gentle with my hair. Every time I get my hair done at the salon, my hair feels SO soft. The last time I went in March, I finally asked my hairdresser what she uses and this is what she showed me. I immediately bought it that same day and have been using it ever since. My hair looks and feels SO much healthier, and I've definitely seen more growth than before. I bought this during Ulta’s liter sale along with the corresponding conditioner, and it’s wonderful! My hair is left feeling clean and easy to manage! The formula has a great scent and lathers well. I usually double wash , and this shampoo is perfect. It doesn’t dry out my hair, and I really feel like its bringing moisture back into my hair. One thing to note is since I started using this formula, my hair dries STRAIGHT. I’ve had naturally , ringlet curly hair my entire life. It’s very bizarre. I’m not sure if it’s because of this shampoo and conditioner, but I don’t use heat or any other product that is new. Definitely odd, but who knows!aiyana.b

I decided to try a different brand so I went with this one due to high reviews. The smell is nice but unfortunately it makes my hair feel really greasy for some reason and weighs my hair down. I do have dry hair due to some previous damage but it just does not work for me. I wash my hair and dry it instantly or let it air dry, both ways…hair feels greasy. I even shampoo twice and still the same. I am sure this works for many people, but for me unfortunately it does not. I found this on my last trip @ Sally’s and I was originally going in for the Zotos No Poo shampoo for curls, but noticed this right next to it! I remember Wella being a pretty decent mid range brand and the last time I tried this it had “diamond dust” in it and it smelled delicious // this looks revamped with Lime Caviar which idk what it really means but it’s cute lol 😂 I’ll take it reminds me of the brand, Alterna and their brand is all about Anti Aging hair care + Caviar everything 🔥🔥🥰🥰 // this new version smells different but still great it’s a light scent, not heavy at all. I got this product in travel size from an ulta blind bag with the conditioner a while ago . I used this on a whim for travel and was completely hooked !!! I have PCOS which causes me to have an extremely oily scalp that has dandruff / buildup. I have tried probably 100s of shampoos . Paul Mitchell tea tree , organix ,biólage , selson blue , head and shoulders and even a prescription shampoo along with many more and none of them have helped control my oily scalp and are usually extremely drying on my hair causing breakage and lots of frizz . Ever since I switched to this shampoo my scalp feels so clean and my oil has drastically reduced to the point where I can wait 2-3 days between washes ! I have been using the shampoo and conditioner combo for fine hair every 2-3 days for about 10 years. It was excellent until they changed the formula 1 year ago?? Now, I can't stand the scent, it is so strong!! I exchanged it once because i thought it was expired but, no, i guess that was the new scent. Performance wise, it is not as moisturizing and I also find myself using a lot more of it to get the shampoo to foam and for the conditioner to make my hair feel soft. I like to use this mask in conjunction with my all soft shampoo. It has the all soft scent….sweet and not overpowering. It definitely helps my hair to feel soft and shiny. It doesn't look greasy afterwards either…but it is definitely a heavy cream which is why I took off a star. Fantastic hair treatment. My hair stylist recommended this for me to use once a week avoiding the roots and I have never had softer, nonstaticky hair in my life. I have thin, fine hair it is color treated, in case that is relevant that breaks easily, and this keeps it silky smooth. I live in Chicago where it is humid in the summers and dry as a bone in the winters, which means I get frizzy when its hot, and have bad static when its cold. I usually apply in the shower after shampooing and squeezing out the excess water. I let it sit in my hair until Im done with the rest of my shower before rinsing. Ive started doing this because the dry Chicago air is really causing so much static. Plus, it seems to keep my hair more smooth and doesnt break as easily when I brush it out. It’s no secret that I adore everything Redken puts out on the market, and that stands true for this product as well! This is one of my top favorite high end hair mask! I have a very thick ponytail however my hair is super fine so my hair is usually limp and lifeless. It has been very difficult to really do anything fun with my hair until I tried this powder! Now, I have incredible volume and even I can make my hair look like I came from the salon. For starters, the product is a super fine powder and a very little goes a long way. My first use I really overdid it and ended up wasting a bunch of product. It dispenses nice "puffs" out of a controlled nozzle dispenser so it's easy to put right where you need or want it. It smells very light and heavenly fresh too. I would describe the smell as clean. Even though the powder itself is white, it becomes translucent on the hair and can not be seen. The volume and texture it adds is really incredible! It lifts the hair right at the roots and manages to keep it up all day! If you swish your hair around with your fingers, it lifts it up even more. It's really amazing when you have to go right from a day look to a night look. At first, I thought it was a bit too heavy, but I realized that I was using way too much product. Once I got the amount right, my hair felt (and looked) incredible. This is an absolute MUST if you put your hair up! It just gives your hair that gorgeous, voluminous and lifted look that you see all over IG. It aslo helps hold the style too while still being able to move your hair. No stiffness at all. I'll also add that I'm really pleased at how well this will wash out of my hair. It doesn't build up a residue or make your hair feel gross. It simply washes right out. This is my first time trying Verb and I am happy to report I love this hair plumping product! I've tried a bunch of different hair volumizing products. My biggest complaints are that many of them have a strong smell, leave a grimy feel on your roots or they just don't work. I've even found some I really like but the smell gives me a headache. Not Verb!! There is almost no discernable smell and it works fabulously! I went for light volume today, nothing over the top. I pumped a little Verb Volume Texture Powder on the underside of my roots and zuzzed it in. Then added Verb's Volume Dry Texture Spray to the rest of my hair. I finished with an Aquage's detailing cream just to smooth my flyaways a bit. I'm set on repurchasing this fantastic hair duo! Full disclosure: I got this product free in exchange for a review. But I will purchase this product when I’m out. Here’s why: it smells clean and fresh without being an overpowering scent. The pumps dispenses the right amount of product preventing accidentally over applying, so my hair doesn’t feel gunky. It adds natural looking volume without leaving white residue, and without using an aerosol, and my hair doesn’t lay in an odd way that can happen with hair spray or texture putty. I’m including two pictures. The first one is using it on the right side of the picture, and the amount of volume my hair still had on that side after 12 hours. It also helped second day curls hold their curl on that side, whereas the left side was flat by the end of the day. The second picture is me using the texture powder on fishtail braids, and it worked so well to add volume to make those cute puffy braids I’m always seeing on Instagram. And if you have bangs, this stuff helps them look so good. I’m constantly getting compliments on how good my bangs look since I started using this.starkyshark

I have mixed white/black, curly hair (texture closer to the white side), so moisturizing is a daily must for my long, curly hair. I love the formula of the product. The product sprays out in a mist, which dispenses a bit more fine than previous leave in conditioners I have used. Due to that, I have found myself over spraying. I found out once brushing that the spray conditioner actually let out a good amount. However, I have since adjusted – takes a minute to get used to. The bottle itself is not my favorite. Although very pretty, the push top to spray the product is rather tough to push down with one finger. The top also spins so while attempting to spray the product it twists in a direction that does not spray on the hair. My hair feels moisturized and soft when using this product. I bought this product for $30, really excited to try and revive my frizzy, dry, straight hair. I feel like this product may work for people with fine hair, but it personally didn’t work for my thick and wirey strands. In addition to this, I live in a pretty humid place so that could also be why it’s not helping. The smell is also strange and reminds me of a public bathroom? Completely not what I was expecting 🙁 I sprayed around 10 times on the full length of my hair and brushed through it multiple times and saw no change. If anything, my hair feels even more brittle. I’m going to return this to sephora and try the moroccan oil treatment and see if that works better, because clearly this product was not suited for me.caitlyn chen

so my hair is a ficall being. but at this moment it likes this product, after drying with a microfiber towel after showering. I have both sizes, purchased the travel side to see if my hair liked it, and then bought full size after a recent business trip. so far so good. I have fine, wavy color treated hair that is crazy frizzy in humid weather. which is basically 10 months of the year where I live. I was on vacation and angry at the product I brought with me, and on a whim went to the on site store. So I bought the shampoo, conditioner, curl creme, gel & the refresh spray. Ever since the first wash, I’ve noticed a difference and lots of improvements. My curl pattern is pretty all over the place but this product has made my curls a lot tighter in areas where they weren’t looking too good. I’ve also noticed a lot more volume and my hair definitely feels moisturized. Not to mention the products all smell amazinggggg! The one thing I would say, the refresh spray feels like it weighed down my hair a bit much so I added some water to the product to dilute it a little bit. I was gifted the travel set that comes with the shampoo, conditioner and creme. I have curly and waves hair naturally. I am so pleased!! I usually use the Redken extreme length shampoo and conditioner which leaves my hair kinda matted after day 2 as well as greasy and frizzy. HOWEVER after using Rizos products I have been able to just refresh my curls without completely washing my hair and it’s stayed hydrated, not tangled and less frizzy. I just love that I can actually go more than 2 days without feeling like a grease ball. Will continue to use this product and buy the full size. Also love that it’s latina owned!!Prisilla

I have wavy hair and been trying out these products for about a month now. I love how it feels very light. Some other products I’ve tried make me hair feel heavy when I put the leave-in conditioner. With the shampoo and conditioner, just a little bit goes a long way. The products all smell great but it did take some adjusting as the scents on wet hair is quite fragrant — though I will say it did not give me any headaches which typically very fragrant products do like for example I can no longer wear perfume. My only critique is I wish they did offer an option that was no fragrance or at least very little. 5 out of 5 stars still tho!Steph T.

I have long, loose curls that turn more into waves the longer I go in between washes. Before I was a mom, I maintained my hair by combing/washing every other day. If I wasn’t about to wash, I didn’t comb because my hair would get too frizzy and lose some of its shape. Since becoming a mom, washing once a week is my new norm. The tangles and frizz were awful since I tried not to comb often. But since I started using this product, I can go that whole week in between washes and feel confident about my hair! Each night that I don’t wash, I apply Cantu, comb a little, and braid my hair for the night. It’s been easy to maintain, and I love how smooth and relaxed my hair turns out.In Need of Protein

I've used many Leave-in conditioners but this one actually works! The first time I used it the instructions said to apply "generously" of course when I realised how thick and creamy it was I decided to ignore this and apply a little more than I would normally but not by much. I noticed when I ran my hands under tap that the greasy feel came away before I'd even used soap! So, the second time I used it I applied it liberally. I have long hair and used as directed this time. By the time it dried I was very surprised that it gave weight to my fine hair and made it bouncy! So I highly recommend this product. I'm in my 70's and don't usually leave reviews because they would generally be negative and knowing not everybody has the same experience thought my 2 cents worth wasn't worth the bother. Over time I hope to discover that it's other promise of making my hair "healthier" comes to fruition. I'll let you know. I don't usually buy this product but I will in the future.veelav

This is just about my favorite Lange product. You only need a little bit too! My hair is thin, fine and with a natural wave. I have used Thick It after applying the lotion or the Whip Volumizing Mousse. I’ll need to try both next time and see if they are compatible. My guess will be, Yes! The Glaze kept my frizzies to a minimum. Hair was nice and soft and did not flatten my hair…I did keep it away from my roots. This Glaze made my recent beach trip so much better not having to full with my hair too much after sleeping on it.Barbara G.

Not only does this product smell like citrus and orange, it truly is a glaze for your hair. The texture and consistency is exactly like a glaze icing, YUM! I am of Mediterranean decent and have curly, frizzy hair. I purchased the Glaze Hair Lotion to style my hair curly. It is absolutely AMAZING!! I use the glaze lotion in combination with Lange's curl cream to help lock in my style. It has allowed for me to skip the hair spray, which is huge!! I can achieve soft curls without all the gunk. I love this product! It only takes a small amount and it works great for curls and frizz! I've tried so many products to help with defining my curls that I can't even count how much money I've wasted. This products actually works! This has been a godsend for me personally. It's also the only oil I've consistently repurchased. A little goes a long way so the large bottle lasts quite a while. It helps reduce frizz all over and leaves hair looking so healthy and shiny. Again, a little goes a long way, rub between hands well before applying. Definitely test out how much your hair needs because it won't be much. I digress. I let it set a bit before messing with my hair and my curls are so soft and so bouncy after. First, let’s talk initially how gorgeous this packaging is because I think we need to take a moment to appreciate it 😍 Initially as I opened the product the entire cap came off and I was wondering how to properly apply this product. I had no idea there was actually a pump because it’s hard to tell and you end up taking the entire cap off. After reading other reviews apparently I’m not the only one this has happened too. Not sure why that happens but it is alittle off putting however if you just pull up on the cap a pump is included for the product to be dispensed, I absolutely love the smell! It smells so good and is heavily scented if that’s not your thing. I used this on my hair two different ways. I applied it to mostly the ends when it was wet after a shower which I didn’t really like the way it made my hair feel. It didn’t feel like it was absorbing into my hair. I also used it dry on the ends and to help flyaways stay down as it was dry and I was blow drying and straightening. I didn’t notice any long term improvement to my hair after using this product but it does smell amazing and keep my frizz at bay. I have curly hair with lots of damage and I definitely need a good oil. I prefer a leave in conditioner but I definitely think a oil has a place in a hair care routine as well. For the price I probably wouldn’t repurchase this product but I definitely want to try other products from this company. I got this in a set with the Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo and Conditioner. I really do love the set and feel that they work as a whole to keep my hair silky. I have bleached hair and when using other hair care brands I feel like my hair feels very dry. With Oribe products, my hair feels healthy and rarely gets tangled unlike when using other brands. I tested out Briogeo's be gentle be kind set in the Banana scent and it not only did it dry out my hair, it also gave me A LOT of dandruff. Keep in mind that I have never once noticed dandruff in my hair before using Briogeo. Switched back to Oribe and my hair is as healthy as ever! No dandruff in sight.laura.c

In the instructions of how to use this oil, it says to work it though hair after a blowout. Very often, I blow out my hair with the Dyson Airwrap round brush and self-grip rollers. Self-grip rollers have a tendency to pull at the hair and break off small strands. I definitely think this oil is great at smoothing those strands after the blow out. You don’t even have to use a full pump for the oil to do that job. With either 1 full pump or less, the oil smooths the hair without ruining the blow out or making it greasy. My hair gets greasy QUICKLY after washing, so I really enjoy that I can use this oil for blow outs & it doesn’t affect the time in which my hair usually starts getting greasy. Also in the instructions, it says you can use this oil in your hair before washing. I’ve done this a handful of times now. I find the oil dries down in a fair amount of time, so I like that I can douse my hair with multiple pumps, put it in a pony tail, and after about an hour, it looks normal enough to do do things that I don’t have to look really impressive for (ex: errands). However, I notice when I completely oiling my hair up with this, it’s rather drying in comparison to other oils. For instance, I also use the Shea Moisture 100% Argan Oil, which is much cheaper, and it gives my hair that smooth oily feel that I aim for prior to washing. With this oil, I find that myself going back and re-oiling my hair due to the dry feeling. Again, I’ve only used it as a prewash a handful of times, so I have NOT noticed yet that the dryness is a lasting affect after I wash. I haven’t tried this yet on wet hair. Overall, it’s great for blow outs since a small pump goes far and it is light weight. When using larger amounts, I notice the hair feels more than dry than oily, and I worry this will eventually affect the dryness of my hair. I feel that I can find a cheaper oil to smooth my hair after blowing it out.PastaPrincess69

This was so extremely disappointing, I even tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and used up the entire thing before giving my review. I honestly love so many Ouai hair products, their detox shampoo and scalp scrub are some of my absolute favorites! Unfortunately this was such a dud, I honestly cannot believe how many positive reviews this has received. First thing, the smell is atrocious. I like nice smelling products, and even if its unscented or a mild scent I usually don't mind but THIS! I could not get over the scent, its a very woody/herb/patchouli scent and its STRONG. Next issue I had with this is that it didn't really hydrate my hair, if anything it felt more dry after, it didn't really absorb and just sat on the hair looking wet/oily. Some hair oils I love for example are the Olaplex and Gisou hair oils!hailey.p

i got this in a free gift set of a lot of minis & samples and i didnt expect much from it at all; i have used many different hair oils before and never really "clicked" with any of them. i also didn't expect to even remember half the items i got in this sample kit because there were so many. this stood out enough for me to take a picture of the little sachet before throwing it out. i thought i accidentally used too much but even with me using a lot it didn't weigh my hair down at all. in fact it actually gave me more volume, somehow, and my hair usually gets flat & greasy quite quickly. it smells so nice and the scent is subtle but lingers all day. it made my hair look so glossy & thick. i will definitely be purchasing the full size soon.aj

This is the best brand I have for a hair mask. It’s cheap and great. There’s one for hair growth toooooo. Normally I get that one but hey didn’t have it here to pick. But you can leave it in your hair in the shower and shave and do all your stuff oorrrr leave it on your head with a cap and fold clothes lol I’ve done both.. either way.. ummm wow. Leaves your hair silky. I should do it more often but I have so much hair that the tub is good for 2 washes vs normal people like my cousin can do 5 washes with hers lol I do it every other month if I remember.ashley.p

I was a bit skeptical because i saw a lot of people with much more textured and thick hair saying that it didn’t work well for them for one reason or another. I have 2B hair that has suffered a lot of damage due to using heat & breakage from brushing with the wrong brush. Anyway i love the rosemary and mint oil from this company so i went ahead and got this product. my hair loves it, it leaves my hair looking really shiny and healthy even after straightening. (hair is straightened in photo) my hair looks soooo silky when i dont use heat and let it air dry with this product. My hair doesnt clump up either with this stuff either. In the past ive used other products that clump my hair up and make it all crunchy but not this stuff. The smell is immaculate too!!!! It smells so good that one of my friends said i smell good and he is so weird about scents and things like that. this stuff is already an essential in my hair product supplies and i would really recommend giving this brands products a try if you need some moisture for your hair!Momokuma

Very badly packaged! Purchased this product with ten other products when everything was $6.99 (I believe it was a Black Friday special). EVERYTHING was damaged!! All ten of the products were thrown in a box with nothing securing them! Well, you can imagine what happened when going through the shipping process. a couple of the products were bursted open which caused all of the products to be greasy and sticky when they arrived to me. Extremely messy! I was highly disappointed but didn’t want to go through the trouble or sending them back. I just use what’s left in the containers after the spillage.smh… I would love to give this product five stars, but after I received my package with ten products just thrown in one box with no wrapping to protect the items, that’s hard to do. I really love the scent! So sweet with a hint of fruit but not overpowering. I have 3B curly hair and use it for CGM (curly girl method) styling. The product is nice to use on wet hair, makes it softer and easier to manage, it's also good to refresh your curls the next day after washing your hair (I make my hair slightly wet, and use it). I recommend applying some styling gel on top. Never made my hair greasy. As you only need a small amount, this bottle will last for a long time, years, if your hair is short or medium length.
