First of all, Moroccan Oil is the best. It smells great, it feels great, it makes me commit (which is hard to do). I had previously bought the hard styling gel for my husband and he was blown away! I bought this product in-store about a month ago and have spent the last two weeks recovering from the severe reaction that stemmed from it. After looking up the ingredients on the package, I realized too late that there are a few key irritants in the product that reacted negatively to my skin. My symptoms include scalp irritation and tenderness, face sores, and intense swelling around my right eye. I would highly recommend steering clear from this product and brand. Because regardless of the quality (price) of products I use, my wash n go will last 4-5 days—which I’m absolutely fine with. So I wash it every 4-5 days, which is too often for a lot of people; not my problem. I love botanical-based products like these because they’re usually easier to work with—when you have long hair that’s a plus. In my opinion, it clumps my type 4 hair like a mane choice gel, but with less hold, more moisture, WAY MORE slip and I don’t feel a residue in the coming days. My hair just feels softer as the week goes on. As said on YouTube, this is a medium hold not a strong Wetline-type hold. So it’s a perfect, affordable option for someone who washes often and typically wears wash n go’s, like myself. Due to the softness of my hair, I would also use this for twists—I don’t do twist outs. I don’t think it would have enough hold for fingercoils on my hair. Overall, I do love using this gel, it plays well with a variety of leave-ins and mousses, so I’ll be repurchasing it. Just in other places because it’s cheaper.
I received this product from Influenster as a sample to try. I gave 3 stars to try and keep it neutral. I’ve never been big when it comes to hair products like mousse, gels, hairspray, etc. I don’t like my hair to be crunchy, stiff or sticky. I also don’t really have curly hair…it’s actually wavy but even more so naturally frizzy and I usually straighten it or braid it. I tried it because I love the first product that I tried by the same company which is the oil mist. But unfortunately I didn’t like the gel for the reasons I stated above. This product is decent but wets the hair a little to much. Not bad but it feels more like a conditioner than a shining gloss. Unfortunately I put it on Donna Bella Hair extensions 18 inch clip ons. I bought the extensions for the 1st time bcuz Sally doesn't sell euronex extensions any longer. The Donna Bella extensions are the worst extensions I've ever purchased. I wasted $307 (Black Friday sale price) for 2 sets. The 18 inches is a lie. They are barely 14 inches and my euronex extensions that are 3 years old with massive breakage are still better than Donna Bella brand new. The new extensions have never been used and while I styled them there was so much breakage already that I could see as I ran my brush through them. This curl cream would be great for you if you’re not looking to have too much hold in your hair. It’s thick, but it doesn’t create a very strong cast for me. As you can see, my hair is already frizzing at the roots and it’s not completely dry yet. There’s no cast to scrunch out. The pump is also really hard to use and only dispenses like a dime size of product with each pump, which means I need to pump twice just to get enough for one section of hair. It is very hydrating, so I can’t knock it down too much, but it is probably my least favorite ouidad product, which is saying a lot because I LOVE ouidad. Just for reference, this was purchased for and used on biracial, relatively thick, spiral curly hair. This is a very lightweight, non greasy product with relatively good slip. It ends there. If this was the only product you wanted to use. No gel, no mouse, no oils, no creams, no leave in, no frizz control, I mean zero other products, then this might work for you. It immediately interacts with other products by leaving white clumps all over your hair. It doesn't matter if you use less/more of it or if you use less/more of the other, it is a disaster. I've tried this with SEVERAL other products from different lines and it always ends with the same result. It doesn't absorb later and disappear, instead the clumps turn into white flakes. I received this in one of my recent boxes and was excited to give it a try, mainly because I have been trying a lot of different curl remedies and find many of them to be too greasy, have too much perfume, or leaves my hair feeling sticky. I used this as suggested and sectioned my hair and applied it from root to end and let me hair air dry. My curls feel soft (not crunchy), not greasy and not sticky either. Overall, I this may be my favorite curl activator I have used to date. My curls didn’t shrink up past my shoulders and they weren’t full of greasy residue. My curls did feel heavier but not overwhelmingly heavy and they didn’t shrink as much as they usually do. I think depending on your hair type this could be too heavy for finer hair or finer curls. I have never tried a product like this. It is kind of pasty which was surprising; Activator made me think it would be watery but it was thick, similar to a gel. I followed the instructions and evenly distributed it through my detangled hair (after using the shampoo and conditioner from the same product line). My hair felt sticky at first, I was afraid it was going to look limp. I allowed my hair to air dry overnight (did not tie it up). The next morning I simply fluffed my hair with my fingers and was surprised that my curls appeared shiny, moisturized and had a wet look, but the curls were actually dry to touch. Interesting 🧐😁. The activator gives the same look that a messy wet spray activator gives without the mess. I never use activator because I don’t like my hair to be perpetually wet. But this is a product I will likely continue to use because it is mess free. The Creme of Nature Pure Honey Shrinkage Defense Curl Activator pairs well with the Creme of Nature Argon oil edge control because they both provide a similar shine. I think I’m in love 😍.
This product gives me all kinds of life honey 🍯. Never have i ever had this much curl definition without shrinkage. I am really surprised! I noticed when putting it on that it did something to make my hair lay down. I was concerned that there would be no hold and that I would wake up the next day and my hair would be smashed and messed up. To my surprise 3 days later my hair was still moisturized and defined at least in the front. I am an extremely heavy sleeper on the back of my head and having the back of my hair smashed gave me the opportunity to try the product on 2nd day hair. Needless to say it lived up to the hype. After applying only a little bit of water those curls were once again popping. I would not suggest refreshing without adding some moisture to the hair it cause the hair to be sticky.lashonda.p

I've always had very thin, flat hair, even after I went from a level 1 to level 9 blonde. I bought this product on a whim after using Rusk sulfate-free shampoo and was really surprised to see that it actually works! This is the only product after all the mousses and texturizers that actually added body and volume to my hair. It also prevents my hair from getting super oily throughout the day, which is important since I only wash my hair every three days. The only con I would say is the strong chemical smell, which is almost reminiscent of nail polish remover. The smell disappears after your hair dries. I don't use heat after using this product (just spray into towel dried hair and let air dry) and it still does wonders. Only a few spritzes are necessary, so the bottle lasts a long time!Sophie

This spray definitely adds volume and texture to my hair. I use it on clean, damp hair and then let my hair air dry overnight. In the morning I use a curling iron to create a slight bend and my hair does look thicker and feels more voluminous because of this spray. It also has a nice amount of hold so I don't need another product and with the addition of a little flexible hold hairspray (I like Got2b Mind Blowing) I'm out the door. This spray adds just the right amount of texture so that I don't really have to curl my hair if I don't want to. I can add a little more Thick and that amplifies the texture factor big time so that my hair has that rocker chick vibe rather than the beachy waves look it has when I curl it. Either way, this spray is super versatile. It isn't sticky or stiff and yet it works great and my style stays put for several days. I like everything about this spray and highly recommend it, especially for fine hair. It isn't heavy and won't weigh hair down. I had been looking for a new hair shine spray. I have medium/dark brown hair with blonde highlights, and my hair is very dry and damaged from using heat and dying/bleaching in the past. I’ve had my hair colored in just about every color you could think of so my hair is very damaged. It’s getting way better now but a few months ago it was completely unmanageable. I like using shine sprays because they make your hair so much healthier and glossy looking. My current shine spray is Garnier Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray. It was only 7 dollars, has great ingredients, and gives amazing shine without looking or feeling greasy. I had been thinking about getting this matrix shine spray for awhile. Ulta was having a huge sale on matrix products so I used that opportunity to pick this up. It was only 10 dollars so I got it half off. I usually LOVE matrix products, and even though they’re pricey they tend to be worth it especially when you have more problematic hair. This was a disappointment. First of all the smell is terrible. Usually their products smell great but this literally smells like those lemon hand wipes you get in little single packets. It’s not unbearable but definitely not a good smell especially for a hair product. Nobody wants their hair to smell like lemon scented cleaning supplies. Good thing the smell doesn’t last because it’s not a good one for a hair product. Now, I could put that behind me if the product worked well but it didn’t. It literally didn’t add any shine or gloss to the hair. It didn’t feel heavy or greasy or sticky on the hair, but it was basically like it did nothing. Since I got this half off I wasn’t TOO mad but still disappointed. I’ve tried a lot of matrix products and this was the first one that had been disappointing. Definitely don’t recommend. I hesitated to buy given the mixed reviews but have had great results. Worked much like a good mousse but easier to apply and less residue. My hair type is thick (as in a lot of hair) but fine (as in the texture is straight and silky) so it pretty much lays against my head. This stuff is terrible. I have used Sexy Hair Slept in for years and this is not it. This one is so watered down if I turn it over to squeeze out the way it was intended, the product just gushes out into a puddle of slop. Not only that, it smells different. This is a headache inducing, overly perfumed tube of junk. I'm thinking probably some kind of conditioner. The real product feels viscous and thick and actually gives volume and style. I started using this stuff a few years ago and its now my goto for quick styling. Ive used other products but they either leave my hair too greasy, crusty or tacky. This cream is easy to work with and holds my thick head of hair easily. It also washes right out and isnt real messy. Ive only run into a single tube that seemed a bit more watered down and runny but since you need a bit of water to style anyway it doesnt really matter. Definitely recommendAnonymous
I have extremely short hair, and was looking for a texture cream that would emphasize the texture of my cut a little spiky but not over power it, and be goopy. I have tried numerous products, but decided to give this one a go, based on reviews. It is perfect. After using this product, my hair looks textured and great, but it doesnt feel like I have a product on it. Very lightweight, but does the trick, and I can actually run my fingers through my hair and not feel product. I have 2C, high density, coarse, porous, long hair. Since adding heavy highlights to blend the grays, my hair has been a dry, frizzy nightmare! I have read endless product reviews, watched countless You Tube Videos regarding care and products for my hair. I have purchased so many products that it is insane, and none fully managed to clump my curls/waves and provide humidity protection.
I use a leave in conditioner applied in the shower to soaking wet hair. I then use a curl primer. I scrunch these products into hair and micro plop to remove excess water. I then apply curl keeper just like gel, using praying hands method to coat each curl. I add more to the crown and smooth over waves. I then plop for 10-30 minutes depending on if I’m air drying or diffusing.
I actually prefer to air dry and this product allows that, though it takes hours to dry. Can form a slight cast which I actually love. Once fully dry any crunch is easily scrunched out. I NEVER have shine in my hair due to the coarse texture but with this my curls are defined and shiny. Best part is that even in high humidity this holds perfectly.
I cannot speak to 2nd or 3rd day hair as I haven’t been able to test this part yet.

This creme is INCREDIBLE. If you have 2c-3a HIGH POROSITY & PROTEIN THIRSTY hair, this will be amazing for you. I have 2c-3a very low porosity, protein sensitive thick hair. Unfortunately this over-proteinized my hair type after just one use. By the second, my hair was strawlike in texture- though my curls were still beautifully enhanced with a lot less frizz & super bouncy. Both of which are hard to achieve as I'm just starting my curly hair care journey. I'm only taking a star off because it feels exactly how it describes- a lotion for your hair. You know how when you put hand lotion on? And you wash your hands later and the lotion reactivates? That's sort of what this feels like on the hair, except it never really dries down. It also felt like it created buildup because of that. By the second time of use, I felt like I had to wash it out with clarifying shampoo. I used a big amount the first time, and small the second- not really any difference in feel, just less curl definition. But that is virtually the only downside this product had. Just make sure your hair actually NEEDS the protein this packs, if it doesn't then this will kill your hair.k
I use this on damp hair and let it air dry. Before this product I had flyaways and frizz. However after using this product I can definitely say that my hair looks amazing! I can't imagine how much better it will look if you use heat styling tools! I would recommend for anyone to try but note: you really don't need a lot. I have hair to just past my shoulder blades and I only use a dime size as recommended. I accidentally used more the first few times and it didn't work as well, but now that I figured out how much I need it definitely makes my hair look and feel amazing! was def excited to try a hair gel complimentary from DevaCurl for my honest opinion that claims to be not crunchy. I'm always very skeptical about products that claim to work hair miracles because I've experienced many let downs.. One difference about this is it says to work it in while curls are soaking wet. I still did get a little frizz but nothing like with what i usually use. I would purchase this and recommend it to other curly people. Yes! Her hair is fly-away frizzy with light curls like mine, and I think she'll appreciate this as I do. Even when I unthinkingly put a cheap gel on first one day (that I usually layer on when my hair is dried), it came out great with the 2 products piggybacked! And the effect lasts a few days between washings. I just need to fluff it up with a pic, even teasing parts a bit (I'm THAT old!) then smoothing over and applying hairspray. I did like the previous formulation better; I s'ppose the company got shamed into changing it (due to a TV documentary). But this is a great product for my fine hair.joyce
I used to use the Arc Angel gel and always liked it. I switched to Ouidad, which works great, but if I leave Ouidad on my hair for too many days without washing it, my scalp gets itchy. I saw Deva had changed the formula so I gave it a try. The gel has a nice thick consistency and you don't need a lot, which is great, however, you don't get nearly the definition and shine you used to get with Arc Angel. At the end of the day my hair is frizzy, the next day it's really a mess. I'm going to go back to Ouidad and just try a different formula. If you were a fan of Arc Angel, prepare to be disappointed.Mary

i had my husband try this product for a month to test it out fully. After a month i did not notice much of a difference as for thickness and neither did he. however the products smelled amazing, his hair was less frizzy and appeared to fall out less. He had thin straight course hair. His hair appeared to be stronger and slightly fuller. First of all, this styling smells phenomenal. It's sort of fruity, and so so good. My husband immediately complimented it. I like that I can put it in and let my hair air dry if I choose, but you do get better volume and bigger results if you use a blow dryer after putting it through your hair. The texture isn't sticky or greasy, since it's water-based. It smooths through damp hair easily and spreads thin so there's no big globs anywhere. It says to flip your head over when drying your roots for extra volume but I didn't try that and still felt like my hair was thicker and fuller looking!kali.c

If Noodle-head weighs your curls down too much, try this!! I have long, fine, curly-wavy hair that tends to be dry and fly-away. This does not weigh down curls or get greasy (noodlehead did both). It defines my curl pattern, eliminates frizz, adds shine, but does not get crunchy like a sprunch spray or gel. I finger comb sopping wet hair, *do not towel dry*, spray ends with generic leave-in conditioner, and scrunch in about a half-dollar sized puddle of this stuff from roots to ends. Gently squeeze with cotton tshirt and pile on top of my head in same shirt to air dry. I’m good for about three days with just water spritzing touchups and a little dry shampoo on day 4. Wish it csme in big pump bottle!
I use this on my curly hair— a little goes a long way— to hold my curls but to keep them soft and not crunchy. I put it on after my clients when they get a perm and many of my other clients who used to use Redken Curl converted to this because it gives the same feel but without the hefty price. I bought this for my 6 month old son who has very kinky black hair (an amazballs fro that brad would kill to get his hands on), and myself who has loose, curly waves (and I am hispanic) so I needed something dynamic. This works great for both our hair, but especially my sons fro! After bath, comb out the kinks, pull this through his hair, let dry, and then poof it up! Before i had my hair bleached by my wonderful long time hair stylist, i used the brand mondo wave tech foam for my natural curly hair. So after having my hair bleached by my stylist i had no issue or second thought to order the wave tech hydration foam. It did not go well. My hair clumped together badly, and became extremely knotted again, after using the xmondo toner shampoo. Fast forward to trying to brush it when it was dry. I had horrible sticky caked product on my scalp, hair, and in my detangling brush. Horrible to feel how sticky and caked my hair was. I was mostly happy with this product; it makes my hair feel really nice and seems to have helped mitigate any heat damage from diffusing on low. However, I find it weighs my hair down a touch. There are ways around that but for me it involves using more product which I'd prefer to avoid. Despite it saying it has a gentle hold, I didn't see or feel any. That's fine with me, I have the styling foam from this line to do that, but it's kind of baffling how they have it on the bottle, lol. All in all this stuff is nice but if you have fine hair you may want to try another product.Donnie
This has been a lifesaver for me. My hair is on the thinner side so I have needed product that would leave my hair feeling lighter instead of heavy. The product is free of parabens and other sulfates that are responsible for holding hair down. It has a wonderful scent that isn't too overwhelming. It's light and not overbearing. This keeps my curls in check and pretty all day. Something they would NEVER do without product. Does not really control my frizz on the top of my head, but does so everywhere else. I gave this to my daughter who has beautiful, thick, really long hair. So much hair that her stylist has to use 2 perms when perming her hair. After shampooing my hair I towel dry my long color treated hair very gently with a water absorbing towel and put a few pumps of the 14 in 1 Miracle Worker into my hands, rub them together and apply to my hair from midway down to the ends. I can then let it air dry while I sleep and wake up to a gentle wave in my hair. If my hair looks slightly frizzy during the week, i will pull into a ponytail, wet my hands with water and slightly dampen my hanging ponytail hair before putting a few pumps of 14 in 1 Miracle Worker into my hands, rubbing together and disperse onto my long haired ponytail. I bought this because I recently had to have brain surgery due to a brain bleed, and my scar was itching like crazy. This sooths my scalp and stops the itch as soon as I spray it on, wet or dry hair. It also helps with the frizz, enhances my waves. I like that it prevents breakage and strengthens. It's moisturizing. It helps detangle. It's super affordable. I use this before I blow dry my hair. I just do a quick spray around all of my hair then scrunch it in. I then blow dry my longer pixie cut. It gives me some body and adds texture. It also helps with frizz and humidity. I have to say I think this is a great product but I could do without the scent of it. Unfortunately it smells like a mans cologne and not even a nice one! My hairdresser used this product on my hair before my wedding and my hair was really beautiful and shiny for at least 2 weeks after but I couldnt find it anywhere as it seems like a hairdresser only product, which makes me think it must be so good, only the insiders know about it It has a warm feel when you apply it which can feel weird but makes me think it is working right away and my hair was definitely more manageable after using it. WOW! This is the most incredible hair product. I've been using Oribe Gold Lust shampoo, conditioner, and oil for years. I decided to try this because many of the reviews I read were positive. First of all this cream smells very nice. I don’t know if this just isn’t a fit for my hair type but it’s really kind of sticky and doesn’t give me much silky or sleekness. My hair is fine and naturally curly, also chemically treated and frizz prone. This kind of made my hair feel sticky and tangly and not silky at all when I blew it out, and I definitely got frizz later when I went out in the humidity. I like other Oribe products but this didn’t work for me or my hair. For the price I was really hoping it would be a knock out but I’ll go back to my other tried and true favorites 1) Olaplex #6 and 2) Kerastase Discipline smoothing cream. I finally gave up just looking at this and finally ordered without any expectations even reading the excellent reviews. I been using kerastase discipline for years and happy with it as it kept my thick curly hair straight for a week even in humidity just a few touch ups between washes. But wanted to try this because my friend swear by it and the oil as well. It is AMAZING!!!! Is very thick when put it on your hands but once you rubbed it became a cream easy to spread on the hair, the smell is citrusy to me but very light, once I put it on my damp hair I do a twist and clipped wait for maybe 20 minutes and start blow drying, just doing that my hair is soooo soft and shiny with a beautiful salon look but I do flat iron after and OMG the softness is even more and my dry/splits end just disappear! Hair looks super healthy, and no greasy at all no matter how much you use, hair looks naturally straight and very light to the touch.I’m obsessed with this cream it’s been very humid here in Canada and my hair stay the same as when I ironed. It is worth the price and is just a bit more than the discipline one so I think I will stick to this one as a get more benefits. Hope they start selling in the stores too.
