I've had the cleaner for about a week. So far, it works great – just as advertised. Very well built. It's heavy especially when you pull it out of the water. It is definitely able to climb walls and steps. Strong suction. Even though the cleaner doesn't state that it cleans the water line, I've seen it climb above the waterline at points during the cleaning cycle. It was able to pick up small debri that my old cleaner (using a hose connected to the skimmer suction) could not pick up. I like the fact that I can clean the dual filters inside the cleaner and using a skimmer basket with a sock filter, I'm anticipating that I won't have to clean my pool pump cartridge filters as often. You can purchase ultra-fine filters to pick up sand and fine dust. I would recommend this cleaner.Weymann
Amazing. We have a beach entry and for 15 years every sweeper I tried would get beached and flip water out of the pool. Babysitting a pool sweep us MOT my idea of fun. I received my Dolphin today and it is my first pool robot from this company. My previous robot was a total did that broke a drive belt after a few weeks of moderate use. So, when I bought this Dolphin I was hesitant due to the fact that a lot of these robots, regardless of brand, tend to have issues with long term durability. For how much these things cost, you don't want to have to have it fixed every month or two, or lose your money when owning a pool can cost a small fortune every year anyway. Not all of us pool people are flush with money to burn on shoddy equipment. Having said that, I immediately noticed the fit and finish of this Dolphin is very nice. It looks like it should hold up a lot longer than my last bot. I also was smart enough to purchase the four year warranty, and I highly recommend any potential buyers to do the same as I can't attest how long this thing will last. What I can say is that is looks pretty good quality and it has been running like a dream. However I did have to pull it up on its first cycle due to a clog of leaves in the top impeller. Seems to clog easily. Not overly difficult to clear, but after five minutes it had stopped, so it did catch my attention as something that may require frequent cleaning to keep it running. It runs well and seems to make a big difference in the pool. I really like my Dolphin so far and it is absolutely higher quality than that last one. Will update this review in the future if I have any issues besides clearing the filters and the impeller. Good buy! And good bye!

The cleaner is a great vacuum, it has suction and easily picks up all the dirt and leaves in our pool. However, there are several issues that make this $600+ purchase a big regret.If you have a ladder as opposed to stairs, the cleaner will wrap itself around them repeatedly; strangling itself until there is no cord left (see photo). There is no way to untangle it from outside of the pool. I find that I have to get in and push the cord to the bottom of the pool, lift the ladder and free the vacuum. I tried putting gallon jugs filled with sand behind the stairs but the vacuum is so strong that it just pushes them out of the way or climbs right over them. Apparently I will now have to spend another $300 on new stairs that it can’t get behind.Another negative is that it is very heavy to lift out of the pool. When it is filled with water it is easily 25 pounds. It also has a power supply on it with a timer so in theory you could just leave the robot in the pool and have it automatically run every few days. The problem is that the power supply is only water resistant and if left out in the rain, water will destroy it. A replacement power supply is $250. So if you do not have a covered area near your pool you will need to build some type of housing to keep it out of the elements, or you can’t utilize this feature. Since I have nowhere to keep it dry I either lug the beast out of the pool when it is finished and find somewhere to store it or detach the power supply and take it inside, leaving the robot in the pool until I need to empty the basket. I have no idea if that’s bad for it or not but lifting it out is a pain especially for someone with a bad back.I really wish I had done more research before I bought it!UPDATE: The belt on one side also comes off at least once per cleaning cycle. I’ve used it less than a dozen times so it can’t be worn out. This is junk and I honestly hate it. I could have purchased 5 Aquabugs for this price. The last one I had lasted 5 years with no issues. I thought I was upgrading. What a waste of money, this was a huge purchase for me.Jessica M.
Used for one summer. Very easy to setup and use. Takes about 2 hours to clean the 12'x25' pool. Does an 80/20 job. If you want a perfect cleaning, do it yourself.Biggest challenge so far is with the controller. The plastic pieces between the faceplate and the switches on the control board are loose. If the controller is moved too much then they fall out of place and the buttons stop working. I then have to open the controller up and reposition the plastic pieces to re-establish the connection between the faceplate and switches on the board.2nd challenge is with the shape of my pool. It is a fiberglass pool with integrated seating. I have to put buckets into two of the seats to prevent the cleaner from going into them. If I don't it climbs into the seats and can't get back out. It also can't handle the shape of the stairs so avoids them. Oddly shaped pool owners beware.A consideration is that you should not rest the cleaner on the scrubbing brushes. Therefore you'll need to figure a way to store it, supported only in the middle if you are not willing to shell out the cash for the carrying caddy.Summary – It's a pool cleaner. After 20+ years of cleaning the pool myself, I decided to spring for a robotic vacuum system. I researched all the different brands, and decided that the Dolphin brand was well respected and consistently got high reviews. I have a couple issues that kept me from giving a five star review. First, it's not great at climbing the walls. Sometimes when it goes up to the waterline, it will just lose its grip (suction?), and fall to the bottom of the pool. Also, it sometimes will lose suction while reversing directions, and will start to float up slightly. This causes it to miss debris at times. If I was going to purchase again, I would have bought the next model up. For that additional $125, I would have had a system that "remembers" the shape of my pool. The CC model has to relearn the shape every time it is used. Also, the debris filter/basket often gets "stuck" in the robot if there is sand in the pool. More than once, I have had to use the hose to spray out the robot before I am able to remove the basket. As the owner of an older Gunite pool, I find that the amount of sand that is in the pool to be higher than could be expected for a newer Gunite pool, or a liner or Fiberglas pool.Peter T.

Not knowing anything about pool cleaners I feel I did a good job comparing many models on line. I was very impressed with the features and comments about the Maytronics Dolphin E30. Our pool is 19×38 feet vinyl lined and I have never used a cleaner, so first time using a cleaner. My disappointment is an area of the pool is never cleaned. If the cleaner is placed mid length of the pool an area in the deep end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the deep end an area in the shallow end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the shallow end an area in the deep end is not cleaned. At the end of the 3 hour cycle there are always a few leaves left in the pool. My Polaris 360 pool cleaner started acting up "again". I just got done doing the tune up kit replacing everything at the start of the season but the wheels started not rotating and it would get stuck in the corners. So I decided to purchase a robitic electric cleaner. This was the best deal out there. My opinions after about 3 weeks of using it; It doesnt cover the pool as good as the Polaris. I still have leaves in the bottom and have to run it about 3 times. It however cleans my liner better then the polaris. I gave it a 3 as its not bad but it could be better for the price… There is so much more someone could do to make this pool cleaner great, but that might be in the higher priced ones. I wasnt going to spend over $500 for a high end one. So I guess you get what you pay for.Mike R.
This is my first robot pool cleaner and I'm very happy with the results. Apart from a little manual brushing in the tight corners and the stairs, the robot does a fantastic job taking care of the rest. Cleanup is easy and quick. Only take 2 minutes to clean the basket and filters. This does need to be done often (after every 2 cycles in my experience). Taking apart the impeller is also very easy. We've got 2 dogs and 4 girls with long hair so the impeller does get gummed up with hair after a month or so. It's wall climbing ability is great and it has no problem scrubbing the scum line. WiFi connection has been so-so. Not sure what that's all about as everything else connects just fine. I end up using the Bluetooth connection most of the time which is slower but adequate. Manual steering is tough to get the hang of. The delay is too long between command and action. Once you get the delay down, it is nice to be able to steer it to the dirty spots for spot cleaning. Still easier that seeing up the manual vacuum.
I researched and bought prior to opening my pool this year. Went with the DX4 over the DX3 because of the longer cord, duel brushes and extra filter inserts. Decided against the DX5 because I didnt think I wanted the blue tooth and remote capability. If i was going to stand there and control it why not just vacuum it myself. (I can get my pool spotless in less than 20 minutes start to finish.) Put it in as soon as I opened pool. Pool is clear but a lot of winter sediment and grime. Ran about 2 hours but could see spots that it never touched. Ran it 3 more times (another 6 hours for a total of 8 hours and it finally seemed to hit every part of my 16×32 pool. Was very skeptical and thought about returning it. Next day there was accumulated debris in different parts of pool that had settled from the night before so I put it in and went out. When I got home the pool was clean except for one spot and the stairs. Ive watched it go thru 6 full cycles and it has never gotten past the 1st step. Also tried the pleated filters which are much harder to clean out the debris. I think I will just use the smooth filters because they are super easy to clean. If you want to cut costs I would try the DX3. Im not sure if I really needed the 3 extra cord length or the duel brushes. If you want to make sure you get every little speck of dirt I would upgrade to the DX5 so you can steer it to the spots it might miss.Robert T.

I have owned two of these machines the first one lasted 3 years. My last one made it 4 years. These machines are built too fail. My first one was a joke i thought it was a lemon from the beginning, It would not clean my pool I would put it in the pool push the button and 5 minutes later the read out would start flashing at the exclamation mark. I took it out of the turned it upside down and the flashing would stop. Then it started to loose a track at every use, then after about 2 months the left wheel stoped rotating. I took it in for repair and the cost of the single motor installed was over $800.00? So I bought a second machine within a year of use the power cord started to come apart at the plug, then broke off completely the following year. Out of warranty by 2 months. $150.00 for a new cord. last year my robot started just circling around on the deep end of the pool then just stopped moving. I took it in for repair and was presented with another $ 850.00 bill. So let's reflect $900.00 for the first machine then another $950.00 then $150.00. So I spent $2000.00 dollars on pool cleaners for 5 seasons of use. I could have paid a pool guy to clean my pool for less…james p.
I don’t write reviews but I had to for this one. I purchased this pool cleaner about 3 years ago. Yes it’s been a great cleaner and a time saver. However, into our 3rd summer we have noticed that is stops mid-cycle and quits working. We give it a little push and it starts back up. After doing this several days we decided to take it into Leslie’s to have it services. Due to it being out of warranty we were prepared to pay what we needed, to get it working again because let’s face it, I did not want to lose my $999 investment or clean my pool manually. After 3 weeks of it being at the Leslie’s store I decided to go check on it (never received a phone call or update). The service person told me they ran my machine and found nothing wrong and had to place a phone call to their “repair” company a week prior and had not received a return call. I asked if they had tried calling back and he said no. He told me to take machine back home and try it out again because they found nothing wrong with it, so I did. After a week of running to machine and having it continue to stop mid-cycle, I called Leslie’s back and same service person told me to bring it in and to “remind him” to call the service company again. This is the worse service, and having spent thousands of dollars in this store is very disappointing. I’m sure my machine will sit there another 3 weeks before I have to go check on it again. I gave this 2 stars for the two good years we got out of it. Now it’s on to cleaning my pool manually until I find another machine from a different location. Good luck to everyone else.Patty G.
First time pool owner so I thought I'd make it easy on myself and buy a robotic cleaner. I did the research and because of the many positive reviews I purchased the Polaris P825 back in 2018. And in the beginning it was great! Just put it in and let it do all the work. Fast forward to 2021. Had put the Polaris in my in ground pool and walked away. Came back about 1 hour later and it had stop. And a good portion of the pool floor looked like it wasn't touched. I looked at the control panel and it was dark. So I pressed the power button, lights came on and I started the Polaris again but this time the lights stayed lit for only a few seconds and went dark again. After several more attempts I brought in to Leslie's to be checked out. Several days later I received a call from them stating that the gear box and the electrical cord were both bad. The cost of repairs would just almost equal buying a new one. This cost me over $900 dollars and I only get 3 years worth of use? This is why I cannot recommend the purchase of the P825. Being retired I try and make smart purchases. Looks like I was wrong on this one.Peter K.

Have had my Tiger Shark for about 8 years and ready for something new. I was never really completely satisfied with the way it cleaned my 18 x 32 inground pool. Goes over same area continuously, and skips other areas completely where dirt has accumulated. It worked better when new, perhaps it’s just worn out. Very, very heavy to lift out of pool, and the cord is so tangled, even though I turn handles everytime I put it in the pool, as recommended. On the plus side, the cartridges are very easy to clean, and setting it back up to clean is easy. Hayward needs to redesign the Tiger Shark with swivel cord and easy lift.Carmen V.
Had it a week and pool never been so clean. run 4 hours a day for 5 days so cannot yet comment on reliability. Good points, cleans well without damaging liner in any way, filter is easy to remove and clean, good fun to relax and watch it make random choices about where it will go next. This is my first purchase of a Pool vac. Ive had it for a few months. So far so good. Cord length I use this on a 30' above ground pool, power supply is about 5 ft away. The cords reach, just barely. Cleaning effectiveness: It vacumes the pool floor pretty well, sometimes it takes a second run to get everything. It floats on purpose: I was a little concerned when I saw it "float" repeatedly when I first ran it, but I came to realize it is popping up its front intentionally inorder to turn. I think this is what others have mentioned when they talk about it floating. You have to ignore it and let it do its thing. Filter: The filter that comes with it is good for small leaves, grass and bugs, but I'm glad I ordered the microfilter. It gets all the algae and sand sized dirt. Wishy Washy Warranty: The warranty is unclear. They want you to purchase it at a local pool supply authorizedvendor for full coverage, but I called around and the local version is about $150 more. I purchased the Walmart extended warranty for $50 to insure that all was covered. Hopefully I never have to test out the warranty. 4 Stars it does a good job of cleaning, but because it takes two runs to clean completley, there is a local supplier clause in the warranty, and I had to purchase the second filter, I dont feel that it warrants 5 stars. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. I can spend time swimming instead of vacuuming. I sometimes wish I would have gotten the model with remote control and auto timer, but that's a few hundred dollars more. Hopefully it lasts for many seasons.ME
I purchased this item last year on sale from Walmart.com at the end of the swim season. I began using it this spring. The cleaner does not climb walls , and that is fine, but instead of going at 90 degree angle and then backing off, it continues to move in the same direction. same spot , causing major tears in my vinyl liner in-ground pool. Have attempted to contact walmart vendor as well as the manufacturer(Maytronics) with no response. All I want is pool cleaner that won't damage my pool. Its under warranty , but no responses from vendor or Manufacturer. Help me Wal-Mart. Hold your vendors to a higher standard than this.Arkansas

Robot performs so much better than my suction cleaner. It picks up the fine debris/dust and the larger debris. I have a zero edge pool and needed a cleaner for my catch basin. My suction cleaner couldn’t reach it, but this one can be used for both since I just need to plug it in for power. It cleans much better than my previous suction cleaner and better than the pool service I canceled. I decided to invest in a good cleaner and actually get my pool cleaned and scrubbed. This robot climbs up the wall and scrubs both the walls and waterline tile. I am a fan of the Pick Me Up feature to have it waiting there to be easily removed from the pool. I have also used the manual control to bring the robot to the pool edge manually for easy removal when I don’t have time to wait for pick me up to allow the robot find it’s way to an edge. I've only had it a week, but it has successfully cleaned the bottom of our pool each time. I like the way it backs up to the wall and shoots water up the sides to dislodge anything that might be trying to hang on there. I bought this to replace the old version of the Intex vacuum. I especially liked the fact that it climbed the walls and didn't have the sectioned hoses the sprayed water everywhere like the old one.This has a larger compartment to store debris and is easier to remove and install. The handle also helps make it easier to maneuver. It scoots along the bottom and moves right up the side. Slick.Unfortunately, it gets stuck quite a bit. We have a large stairs that it always seems to hang on. It tries to climb them and just stops. It's annoying enough that I'm looking at getting the old version again. I don't like wasting money like this, but I also don't like being inconvenienced like this vacuum does.Sam
Bought this for a 33' round pool hoping to save a buck and cleaning time. First, if you do not have an Intex pool, you need to get some crazy fittings in order to adapt this properly to a standard inlet. All they had to do here was create a single part that adapts standard inlet threads to the Intex inlet. Had more than enough flow to make this work with a 2hp pump. Mostly, the device would crawl up a side and just hang out near the surface. It has brushes that rotate with the wheel assembly, but they rotate the same speed and direction as the wheels so don't actually brush anything. Once, when I got the device to appear as if it was working, going forward and backward in a random pattern, I let it run for about an hour when the pool was quite dirty then pulled it out to check the debris collection. There was less than a gram of particulate collected. Cleaned it up, repackaged it, and returned.T. H.
Coleman Power Steel 18×48 Above Ground Pool with sand pump filter. We check on it and talk to it like it’s a child. Nothing to dislike. Don’t foresee any issues. Keep it clean and the pool clear of items. It will do it’s job. It scooped up a small earring, leaves, and algae. Stops occasionally at the top of water line to use the soft brushes to clean the scum line. It’s completely nonexistent. Can’t say enough good things. It attaches easy and quickly. Starts clearing the debris and it’s quiet. The ease of cleaning the insides add to this high rating. Simple with only two locks versus the four on the others. We tried many times on an automatic pool vacuum. This puts others to shame. Quality, cost competitive, and WORTH IT! Recommend highly. The green is the fault is a new sand filter we haven’t mastered. Not this item.Update – be aware that the hose may become tangled with the machine found out (inadvertently) it floats to the surface when turned off. We built a new pool in 2019 and the pool builder installed the Prowler 920. It worked great when we opened the pool for the first time in April 2020 but quit in September 2020. I contacted Pentair for warranty assistance one year ago today. Several of the service providers I was given didn't know they were Pentair warranty centers. I've shipped the unit to two different service providers (actually had to drive three hours round trip to pick it up this last time because no one would answer the phone). It is sitting in my garage still broken one year later. I bought another pool cleaner to use in the meantime. I do not recommend this unit and definitely do not recommend an extended service policy as there is no infrastructure to support it.Brian
We love this! Our pool place recommended it and also said we could get it for less on DiscoverMyStore than from them. It saves my husband from having to spend 2 hours cleaning the pool. The pool was about 20 years old when we bought the house and had the main drain covered. That can make getting enough suction to clean the pool VERY difficult. We also believe we may have a leak in our line between our skimmer basket and the pump/filter because we get bubbles. This also makes suction to clean difficult! This product has made my husband fall in love with our pool again! We plug it in and let it go, it runs a few hours very similar to a roomba but for your pool! Once done we open the basket that collects the debris and wash it with the garden hose and then thoroughly rinse the unit the same way, allow to dry and then place in our storage shed! We run it 3 times a week as we usually only swim on the weekends, so Friday, Saturday and Sunday!cbadmanp

The pool was built when we moved in and little did we know that our neighbors pine tree would dump thousands of needles during the summer into the pool and would spend so much wasted time scooping it out. After 3 years wife and I were fed up and looked into maybe installing another skimmer (previous owners only built one). We went with this and are pleasantly surprised! The pros: It comes ready right out of the box and since its solar, no recharging and goes from day to night and gets everything from the needles, to leaves, to little bugs. Super easy to clean and needs very little maintenance. I do take it out once in awhile and hose it down and when the kids are swimming as I dont want them breaking it. It has been running non-stop since I got it two weeks ago and its going strong. Has a remote so can control it when its too far out of reach. There are some cons though: It does get stuck in the skimmer a few times but its easy to move either by remote or push it out of the way. Once the pool returns turn on it sometimes doesnt have enough power to reach that side. It would mainly stay on the deep end. For me its ok because I figure the jets would push the debris that way anyway. I wouldn't recommend running a robot vacuum at the same time as it can get caught in the floating cord. I did run them both once and the cord blocked the paddles that it uses to get the debris. Otherwise, I think this is a great investment for pools with one skimmer and those that get alot of top debris in the pool and dont want to waste time skimming it manually.
BUY THIS PRODUCT! I can't say enough good things about the robot or the company. First, it works exactly as it should and is so simple to operate. I have never used the remote, though the instructions seemed pretty easy to follow. I just put it in the pool and turn it on (push 1 button). It runs itself without my intervention more than once every few days unless it's leaf drop season which may require a little more frequent basket empty. The basket empty is ridiculously simple; turn it off, open latch, lift basket out and then invert to empty, tap, return basket to it's place, close latch, push button to turn back on…15 seconds tops. This thing works so well both my pool guy and my geriatric parents love it, can operate without instructions or assistance and missed it when it was out of commission. That brings me to my next reason to love the Betta: the company actually stands behind it's product! We used the robot pretty much around the clock from the day we received it…rolling around the pool all day and night for 6 months. Sometime in the Fall I noticed it wasn't operating normally and upon inspection one of the propellers wasn't spinning freely and to my laymen's eyes it appeared some corrosion build up had affected the propeller attachment. We have a salt water pool and while nothing in the materials referred to this as a contraindication I surmised the salt and the metal/solar electric had caused a reaction of some type building up calcifications. I did my best to clear the issue but never found adequate improvement for the propeller to function normally again. So our entire household (and our pool guy) mourned the loss of the Betta as it was put aside. I briefly contemplated buying another because I liked it so much, but as the same thing was likely to happen again, I decided and annual $500 investment wasn't my best option. Fast-forward to April when I realized through cleaning out manuals that the Betta had a 1 year warranty (and I was 1-2 weeks shy of the year purchase date) so I decide to contact the company to see if they would respond. To my shock and complete admiration, they didn't hesitate, just sent me paid shipping information and instructions to return it as well as an estimate of time and instructions on tracking it's return! I could not believe how great their service was and that would have been enough as I expected the robot might be beyond help. In just a few weeks I had received confirmation the robot was received, fixed and being return and I now have it BACK IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER and cleaning just as before without being charged a dime or given ANY pushback as to responsibility. UNBELIEVEABLE! I have since noted there is a Betta 2.0 that refers to salt pools so I imagine they may have discovered there was some unanticipated salt pool interaction with the Betta original and they've corrected the design in the updated model. If I lose this one I will most certainly be buying a Betta 2.0. So if you have a Chlorine pool don't bat an eyelash, but if you have Salt just get the 2.0! You will not regret this purchase.
I honestly can't heap enough praise on this cool little robot. I've only had it a week (so I'll update my review if problems should arise), but so far this thing is truly a game changer. Living here in Arizona with our pool surrounded by many huge Palo Verde and Mesquite trees, I was having to clean the pool with the net probably 4-5 times a day just to even attempt to keep it remotely clean.
