We own a Newfoundland that loves the water. Last week of June we had a hot spell where temps were in the 90s consistently for days. Nights were humid. Trying to make sure all our dogs had plenty of water, we neglected to do a brush out at night under our Newfies chin and around his ears. Consequently mats formed over the hot days with areas not drying completely which made the mats worse. Mane n tail was recommended, it does work with smaller mats, I spent several moments every day working on the larger mats, following the directions, with very little success. We learned a valuable lesson with our Newfs fur and what we need to do better. Ended up cutting the larger mats to a smaller size, then applying Mane n Tail working on the smaller size mats. Our Newf was very patient but would only hold still for 1015 minutes provided I moved to different areas on his chin, chest and ears. Chewys delivery was great, smell of the product was fine. Its not a miracle mat untangler, also depends on the kind of fur being untangled. Works much better on our Great Pyrenees fur than our Newfie fur.Anonymous

I have very fine, high porosity (very absorbent), blonde curly hair. I don't have the best of luck with styling creams, some work and some weigh my hair down, some feel very crispy, some make my hair look instantly greasy. This stuff works! I wash and condition (sun bum regular or Pacifica pineapple curls) and then put a little of this styling cream into my wet but not sopping wet hair. Then I sleep on it and in the morning my hair is good to go. Nice natural looking and feeling curls that stay in. If I could give this zero start I would. It left a sticky residue on ny hair that actually added to my tangle problem – I had to rewash it. I love that this can be used on wet or dry hair. I have very fine, blonde color treated hair and it can end up straw like and dehydrated, I just mist this product on and gently pull it through and it totally closes the cuticle and gets rid of all the extra frizz. Also love that it doesn’t make my hair stringy like most hair oils that are anti frizz would do. I have curly but super thin hair, and with post partum hair loss, products can be kind of heavy. I was using the Color Wow spray, but the nozzle let out too much product and it was easy to over do it. The plus to this product is the nice mister spray. The nozzle lets me spray just the right amount on my hair to help avoid getting too much product on, but just enough to allow it to work its magic. I tend to have dry hair, and this leave my hair really smooth and silky. As for the scent, I actually haven't noticed anything overpowering about it. If you are on the fence about it, try it. Ok, again, this might be long. Sorry. I am 47 and have Hashimoto’s. I have fine, thin hair that, thanks to my illness, is slow to grow and easily damaged. I once had hair to my behind but hashimoto’s left me with ever shrinking, thinning, horribly damaged hair that got shorter with every trim. It was above my shoulders when I finally got desperate for a solution. It took two years but I now have a routine that has given me healthier, growing hair again. So, as you can imagine, I’m reluctant to change any part of it. But for the past week I switched my routine fully to only the pureology products I was sent for review. Now as one might see in my reviews of the shampoo and conditioner in this line, I didn’t hate the shampoo and conditioner but I wasn’t a fan either. However, this leave in conditioner, I would say, is the star of the line. It was pleasantly scented and was able to reduce the overwhelming peppermint scent left behind by the conditioner. It did what it’s meant to do. It is the product that left my hair feeling soft, and left it looking shiny and healthy. I would buy this part if the system again. And, once I used this with my normal routine I could see that it worked well on its own and did indeed help to hydrate and condition my hair and my hair did not get super oily, fast using only this part of the system. I did receive this product free in exchange for my review. That being said all thoughts and opinions are my own. It has a relatively thin, for conditioner, and slippery feel to it on the hands. It is lightly scented but nothing overpowering. I don't feel the scent really lingered on my hair after drying. The days I used this my hair was definitely smoother and softer compared to my normal styling products. That being said I feel this leave in caused some build up issues for me. I have very fine, wavy hair that is super prone to build up. My hair is also quite easily weighed down. This leave in didn't initially weigh my hair down which impressed me since leave in conditioners tend to do so. However after several days of use my hair started to look weighed down, a bit dirty immediately after washing and styling and it lost most of its wave. I did a clarifying wash which corrected the problem. This leave in does have a few silicones (amodimethicone, dimethicone and dimethiconol) and silicones tend to cause build up issues with my hair. If you are someone who can typically use silicones without any issues I would not expect this product to cause any build up issues for you. Overall this is a good product and I would generally recommend it. I would advise caution though if your hair doesn't tend to play nicely with silicones and/or if your hair is especially prone to build up.NamelessAria

I have to say that I LOVE this product, but I don't use it for what its original intention was. I find that as a curl refreshing spray it was way too heavy and left my hair with an unpleasant coating which I assume is due to the different oils in it. The ingredients list is amazing, though, and reminiscent of a homemade mask I used to put on my hair before wash days. I made that transition and now spray my hair thoroughly the morning of wash day and let it sit for about an hour. Rinsing it off with shampoo helps get rid of that greasiness, but my hair still absorbs all the nutrients and feels so healthy and soft afterwards. I've also noticed that it's gotten easier to detangle since I started doing this. All and all, I think this is a great product, but would emphasize that, at least for my hair, it didn't quite work for it's intended purpose.Frannie
I love the Refresh and Detangle Spray. I always have. It is light for my fine curls, gives me great definition and moisture. I use it as a Refresh Spray, but it also works for me as a light leave-in. I really wanted to be supportive and like this product, especially since I’ve seen all the “influences” raving about it. But it just did not work for my naturally curly hair. It instantly dried my hair, the texture of it was just awful. Difficult to explain, but the moment I sprayed it on I noticed a weird texture to my hair that I was not ok with. I thought once I followed up with the cream, my hair would feel better, but nope it only added to it. I have healthy curls, never dyed hair, so none of those are factors on why this product did not work for my curls. The scent of the product is great, the curls after they air dried and settled were ok, but did not get that instant WOW effect like EVERYONE appears to be having. I couldn’t get over how it instantly dried out my hair with that awful texture. I did try application over the course of a week, and my view still stands, it never got better, every application the texture felt the same. This product is missing hydration to the formula, which is important for curly hair. If the formula is ever updated, I’ll give it another try. The packaging also needs improvements, I too received a broken spray bottle. I’ll stick to my other curl specific line of products that I also purchase from target for now that fall within the same price point. But, by all means, try it out and see is it works for you!Banana

I have baby fine hair and really dislike conditioners that you leave in. I often use detangler and found this to not only detangle but also condition hair as well. Nice scent, not feminine by any means. One downside is the sprayers on this product shoot more of a stream than a mist so I have to use another spray bottle to get a fine mist. That resulted in deducting a star. I have to say if your hair is oily, this is not the product for you as it does impart conditioning and someone with oily hair would likely find it over conditioned. I thought this was going to be a leave in conditioner spray like pretty much every other one on the market. I was wrong. To start off, this isn't a liquid.It's literally like what comes out of your conditioner bottle, which is to say that for some thing that's marketed and sold as a spray, it's really thick. Which leads me to my next point: it won't spray out of the provided nozzle. It kind of half mists, but if you're trying to apply it to you hair in a hurry/quickly, you better find something else because I spent five minutes trying to spray it on to just a quarter of my hair. I bought this product because the normal brand I use wasn't available at the store I was at at the time. However, upon this one attempted us, I'll be pitching this in the trash and making an extra trip to get the leave in conditioner spray that I normally use. I love this leave-in! It makes my hair soft and smooth, aids in detangling after I shower, and helps protect it before blow drying. I have very long hair and a little bit goes a long way. As an added bonus, the smell is incredible – I always feel like I'm on a tropical vacation any time I use it! This is my summer savior. This is the product you want in your vaca bag to the beach. Spray on your hair for the days you want to enjoy the pool or ocean. Leaves a greasy film on your hair which was concerning at first, but after swimming in the salty ocean, and shampooing later, I realized it’s purpose. That film protected my hair to the max! My hair never knew it was exposed to the salty ocean, hot sun rays, chlorine-saturated pools. My hair felt as if it was never touched by anything harsh. My go to product for the summer months. This is the BESSSSSST detangling product I have ever used. I discovered this 6 months ago. This product was missing from Sally’s site for a few months & I thought it was discontinued. I had a heart attack & tried other brands to see if I could find a back up. I still cannot find another mist that works this good. I have straight, coarse, thick hair that is bleached. It gets tangled so easily and this stuff is like magic to get it out. I’ve had huge bird nest-like knots before & this got them out with no breakage. This was a very helpful product. Although I also paired this with SILK ELEMENTS. The Ion detangling mist smelled very good although to improve this product I would have to say try to some way improve the long lasting. It drys out very fast on my hair. This is my first time trying this. It leaves my hair really soft and silky. I have only used it a couple times so far so can't speak for longer or more frequent use. This is such a cute and sturdy brush. My head is very sensitive and I absolutely hate brushing my hair and even more so when it’s dry. I have 3b type hair and I don’t normally use brushes with bristles like these anymore, but I decided to try it on my dry and tangled hair and I have to say that I like it. The bristles are a lot softer than I expected and they move with your hair while you brush so it makes it a lot less painful. And because the bristles are soft they can get damaged pretty easily. This brush is the best brush I’ve honestly ever used on my curly hair. It is nice and flexible to reduce the tension on the hair which helps with breakage. I LOVE this detangler spray and so does my 7y year old. She has long, wavy hair that tangles faster than you can imagine. she is constantly moving, so her hair is ALWAYS getting knotted up. My 4 year old daughter has terribly tangle prone hair. We have tried a couple of other detangle products with not much luck. Brushing her hair has always been a daily battle. But this stuff is amazing! It works so well – I was able to brush almost completely through her hair after spraying it on with almost no effort. For years, I was using Sauve Unscented, but it seems it was scented and my allergies and asthma hated that and I noticed my scalp was very itchy…. I tried a few other hairsprays and got the same perfume scent and itchiness. Took a chance on this hairspray. Most scent I get is a light alcohol smell that goes away instantly and does work as good as the others. Only thing I have to do is run hot water on the spray hole so it doesn't clog up.. which it did a couple times. But all in all, I will purchase this again.
Product works well. Hair is smooth, tangle free, and has added much needed moisture to my hair. YOUR BOTTLING STINKS. Price is already expensive. You should rethink how you got this thing package. The nozzles do not work and other people have also complained not just me. If you buy this product get your own spray bottle. Or unscrew the top and just trying to not drop all of the liquid through your fingers and use it directly onto your hair. The product will also make you cough. There is a strange smell that will make you gag if you accidentally breathe as your spray the product on your hair. My advice get your own bottle to spray on the products. Hold your breath when spraying the product. Then dry hair and style your hair … enjoy
It is very hard to find unscented products that work nicely on hair — especially if you HAVE to use them. My dermatologist had me switch to all unscented products due to skin rashes, eczema, etc, and I find it has helped to use these and Vanicream products. The styling gel is very nice, and works nearly as well as the high end (scented) product I used to get from my hair salon … I wish they made an unscented hair oil to tame flyaways.

I bought this for my neice coming to visit me. She always wants in my professional hair stuff…. So becayse she's so young I went out and grabbed her own "product" for her to keep at my house. She lived the smell..and felt like a big kid gwtting to help her hairdresser Auntie help do her hair!! It is not sticky or tacky. This product was on sale and so i bought this instead of what i ususally buy. This product smells pretty good not exactly like strawberries but still really sweet! My girls really like the color of the bottle and it is a little bit easier to hold the bottle with the ripples on the side but is off set buy how flat the bottle is. The spray just shoots out and only mists a little making it difficult to work with. Because of the spray i wont be buying this product again; i makes only chuncks of her hair wet instead dampening her hair like i need. The formula is nice and helps with detangling hair so i will only be using the rest of this product as backup.heaven.r
My son has really long, thick, and curly hair. He is also severely autistic and can’t stand the sound or feel of his hair being cut. (It take at least two adults 3 hours). Since it is not always in the cards to cut his hair we use this so we can brush it with the least amount of problems. I have tried several other brands as well as leave in conditioner this is the only thing that works. He even loves to have it sprayed on his head. When he gets out of the shower and first thing in the morning he will bring it to me. I would recommend that anyone in the same circumstances or with a hair type like his use this product it is awesome . I added a picture of him from the back it does not smooth his hair but it tames iterica.l

My hair is fairly curly and I have knots and tangles after swimming or in the wind. I was hoping this detangler would work like Palmers but without the strong scent. I was wrong. It may have helped a bit when first applied but left my hair a frizzy mess. Unfortunately, I am returning the unused bottles. Maybe it will work with your hairtype.Lori
I used this first on my three year old daughter who has extremely fine, curly hair. While most products I’ve tried weigh her hair down, this one does not! Additionally, it makes her sometimes wavey hair into perfect doll-like curly cues. The product makes her hair look like a small curling iron was used to make those perfect spirals. Not only does the product work in both no humidity and high humidity, but it also smells really nice. It doesn’t have an over powering aroma at all like you get with a lot of products. It’s an understated flowery smell. This product is ideal for my daughter and I plan on using it too. I’m so surprised it’s from suave and not a super expensive brand. Back to review another product from the 2020 spring walmart beauty box collection! Now I’m kind of biased on this product since I’ve been using it even before I got these samples. I purchased the full sized bottle at family dollar for under $6. Now let’s get to the results. Whether you follow all the curly hair rules and regulations or whether you just follow whatever your curly hair responds to, you might want to give this a try! It’s very good if your hair is in DIRE need of moisture on your refresh day, or just simply to define your curls on wash day. It’s also color safe if you have color-treated hair. If you hate the smell of coconut oil, I don’t think this is for you. However, the smell goes away after a while. It’s not as heavy as the coconut curling cream from @cantubeauty which I’ve also tried. I usually pair the curl defining cream from Suave with the leave-in conditioner and serum gel that come with the same line but it works well with products from other lines as well. My hair has no complaints so far. And for those of you who are curious as to what my hair concerns are, my hair is high porosity, color-treated, dry, damaged, and my curl pattern is 2c/3a. My daughters hair is naturally curly plus it's also thick and it often gets tangled. Apart from using conditioner when her hair is washed we needed something else for in between hair washes and this spray does just the job. We spray it on her hair and as well as using a tangle teezer detangling brush the knots soon come out effortlessly. So would I recommend this product to anyone else ?
