New Induction Cooktop, Model FGIC3066TB. Bought new Cuisinart Induction Ready Pot and Pan set to go with my new cooktop. Did magnet test on the bottoms of the pots and pans per the Owners Manual and the magnet stuck strongly to each one. The new pots work perfectly on the smaller burners, and I am very pleased with how the cooktop functions on those burners. However, the large center burner never gets hot enough to boil water, even when I use the exact same pans that I use successfully on the smaller burners. Had a certified service tech come out who replaced the generator and coil, but it still won’t boil water. When the tech called Frigidaire, he was told that only pots magnetized on the bottom AND SIDES will work on the large burner. No where is that stated anywhere in the Owner’s Manual. The Manual and your website state that if a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, it is induction compatible. Since the same pots boil water just fine on the smaller burners, clearly they are compatible with induction cooking. The tech said that Frigidaire told him that the only way I could ever use the large burner is to buy yet another pot that is magnetized both on the bottom AND THE SIDE. Surely this cannot be correct. As it stands, the large burner is completely useless to me. I bought my new pan set relying on the information in your Owner’s Manual to ensure compatibility. I never would have bought this product if I’d known about the apparently secret requirement that both the bottom AND SIDES must work with a magnet if I wanted to use the large burner.Unhappy Customer Mary
We bought this cooktop 5 months ago and love it! All the benefits of induction ring true. Heats fast, power easily controlled, and no scorching overflows onto cooktop. I have not had to scrape anything off the cooktop since we purchased it. Wet paper towel has kept it clean! To address the cons: Noise – It does make a hum especially when using the boost or power feature, but its one of those things you get used to and is not a big deal. Touch controls – This is a bit of an annoyance. Sometimes if you move the pan or set some ingredients you are about to add near/on the controls, all burners get turned off. Usually you don't realize it until your pan has cooled. We are getting better at avoiding this issue, but it is sometimes hard to prevent. Last issue we are currently dealing with is the glass top broke. It is weird, when looking around the edge, their is a small (1/2 mm) gap between the glass and the support that the cooktop sits on. We had a plate fall, striking the edge, chipping the glass and creating a crack across the cooktop. Fortunately, the cooktop is under warranty and Frigidaire sent someone out to look at it. We are currently waiting on replacement glass top to come in for the final repair. Frigidaire and the service company has been very responsive! I only wish there was a trim ring to protect the edge or support it from underneath better to prevent this from happening. I really like my new cooktop, but there are a few things it's important to consider if you currently have a different type: 1. Not all of my pots and pans were induction-friendly, so I had to replace my Cuisinart pots. It wasn't a huge deal, and I found an inexpensive set that works fine. It's important to try the magnet test, even if the set says it's induction friendly. 2. You have to be a little bit careful with the surface, it's slightly more scatchable. I've had it for about 10-12 weeks now, and I think that I've got one very slight scatch. It's important to use the recommended cleaner and only a non-scratch pad–I was probably not careful one day while cleaning or cooking. 3. If water sloshes on the cook surface, it will shut off all the burners. I'm a bit messy, so that's happened more than once. Despite these setbacks, I really love this induction cooktop. The heat is direct, so my kitchen doesn't get as hot, especially since only the part of the burner covered by the pan heats. This being true, it is much easier to clean since I never have burned food to scrub off. It's safer, since the heat is going directly to the pots, although there is a little bit of heat after using a burner for few minutes. It would be difficult/nearly impossible to burn yourself. And the main reason we purchased this one is for faster cooking–it does not disappoint. I think I can now boil water with Power Boil setting in less than two minutes. This is not a super-fancy cooktop, but the arrangement of burners, with a large eye in the middle, two smaller ones on each side, and the 4th smallest eye in the back, is really convenient when cooking more than one item.Nancy

I bought this cooktop 2 years ago and it has already stopped working. It look and worked great when it was working. We had 2 different Frigidaire techs come out and had to pay a $99 service fee each time. Nothing was under warranty and they aren’t sure what can be fixed. We are now having to buy a new cooktop. This cooktop produces even, precise, and rapid induction heating and takes some practice to get used to. Boils water very quickly! An interesting feature of induction is the cooktop itself is not actually heating, but rather the cookware heats up which in turn returns heat to the cooktop surface. Induction does require specific cookware, and the stainless steel set I'd used for 20+ years was not compatible. Most modern stainless cookware will now be compatible, as is cast iron. Bridge mode of the two smaller units looks promising but I've read this can create uneven heating (on a griddle, for example). The slider heat controls are not ideal. I purchased a Frigidaire induction cooktop to replace a GE profile cooktop that I broke. I wanted to replace the GE with another GE to make sure it fit in my granite countertop …but in these days of Covid that became impossible. I’m very pleased with the Frigidaire it fit beautifully actually fit better I don’t think it heats up quite as fast as the GE but I’ve gotten use to it. I like the control panel better and the fact that you can lock in the setting you choose. It also has a timer I like the layout and all in all I’m very very pleased with the Frigidaire induction cooktop. I would definitely recommend a Frigidaire cooktop!LesleyM

Within 3-days, I noticed a few scratches on the burners , & I used the proper “ cleaner & pad “ ( purchased from the same Lowe’s Appliance Dept., with Guidelines from Sales Expert.) I am disappointed with the endurance quality of your Top. Being a gourmet cook, I have had a GE Performance CookTop for 6 years, I have never had any scratches- issues; except a few oil/food stains around burners sometimes. And the “ stain-rings “ were cleaned & removed easily & totally by the “ white pad “ without any damages to the Top. I just donated this GE Top to Habitat for Humanity. So far so good! I added extended warranty because you pretty much have to these days (needed repair to my first, another brand). The Power Boil is a great feature. I agree that the warmer burner wasn't necessary~ would have preferred another 8 inch burner instead of that and the huge "Large Burner" (for canning, etc.) I'll never need. As for its messiness ~ it is. Spatters are everywhere after cooking. The 3-part cleaning kit provided works amazingly well ~ but you must spend 10 minutes after each stove use, and after cooling. I've removed the plastic knobs since they get dirty, as well as under them. This was the same with another brand ~ it's the nature of the glass. Had I known, I likely would not have gone with a cooktop when I built the kitchen (not to mention the difficulty in replacing it). Was aiming for kitchen cleanliness, but must also watch out for crumbs and drips that lodge in small space between glass and counter ~ a design flaw on all cooktops.GEsinceMom
It works fine. I am just not happy with any new appliance. I didn't think that I would have to buy all new pots and pans to use on the cook top. My Copper bottom pans jiggle when I cook with them. Also the stove top stays hot for a very long time so I have to end up removing the pot when I turn it down. (I would rather have that than not being hot enough) Still getting used to the stove top. I had a coil top electric stove for over 36 years and I loved that stove top. It was still working when I had to replace it.. Had to replace it since we were replacing our counter tops with granite. I am sure that this stove top will only last a few years like all the other new appliances we have bought.. Also there is a lot of maintenance to keeping it looking new. Lots of cleaning with special creams and tools. We bought a GE dishwasher which we do not like at all. It takes 175 minutes to wash the dishes and the soap (finish table) does not dissolve. It is a lot smaller than my previous dishwasher. So we are running it more often and it takes 3 times as long.
Having the largest burner at the back of the stove behind the dials is inconvenient. The "warming" burner is a wasted element. It doesn't heat at all unless on HIGH, and even that takes minutes to warm up. The cooktop is very sensitive to cookware as it's recommended not to use curved-bottomed pans, enamel coated or cast iron. Cleaning the cooktop requires special cleaners. I like the rapid boil and ability to adjust heat to the size of the pan on the large element.Diane FM

Sleek, compact electric cooktop for my new kitchen. Generally I prefer electric, but decided to bring my 1930 Kalamazoo wood/gas cookstove to my new home, and planned to use the gas burners. This is intended to supplement the cookstove. This unit will actually replace the first one I purchased, which worked upon installation, but before I even moved in had an issue that the company would not rectify – possibly a mother-board for the controls. In retrospect, I probably should have purchased a model with knobs vs. electric touch pad, but with care it should last. The white glass blends in with my countertop well, and the surface should be easy to keep clean. Just have to be careful about not allowing items to rest on the control panel; it can be locked to avoid little fingers from accidentally activating the burners. WE LOVE THIS COOKTOP!!!! We were so pleasantly surprised to see how well this cooktop works. We installed it into an island so that the surface of the cooktop is the same as the counter. Cooktop is easy to install. Instructions have the usual translation issues using words you may not be familiar with. First issue. Instructions say you can use any flat bottom pot. This is incorrect. This is an INDUCTION stove. It will only work with steel or iron pots. Pots rated for induction stoves. Next issue. Had it one day and already has a scratch in it (even though we did not use it, just set pots on the burners to see if they worked) Top is difficult to clean. Again. Not used, just touched from installation and trying the buttons. (See smudges on video) Last. Left lower burner registers an error that says there is an open circuit. We called the service number that I had to look up on their web (no service number or email in the manual). You get a third party company that sends your information to the Manufacturer. After three calls to this number, and no response from the manufacturer in 48 hours, I packed it up and returned it.Catch22Iam

It does not appear to be able to modify so as to mount flush with the counter. the size is correct, and it appears to be a replacement for the current unit. Thus we will be returning the unit and keep looking.

Bought these three and was installed last week. So disappointed in the quality. Cook top is so hard to keep clean with knobs. Glass shows every drop of water spills and then hard to remove. Dishwasher shows ever finger print along with stainless oven. Bought an LG refrigerator what a difference in quality compared to the Kitchen Aid. Love the refrigerator! This KitchenAid Cooktop replaces our old JennAir, and we were looking specifically for a cooktop that had a downdraft (DD) exhaust build into it. We loved the DD in our old JennAir and wanted to make sure a new one had it. Installation was easy as we were replacing the countertops in our kitchen and did not have to have a unit of the same size as our old one. Just had to realign the exhaust hole in the wall (cut a new one). The KitchenAid heats quickly, offers a variety of sizes with four burners and the multi-speed exhaust allows adjustment for the amount of exhaust needed. Cleaning is fairly easy but I would not recommend the use of an abrasives on the glass surface. Boil-overs or spills can be "scraped" off using a razor blade tool, like one for removing paint from windows, then soap and water. The build quality is very good and performance to date had been great.BKSchoffner
This is first time use for glass cooktop. Much different than my old coil cooktop, but getting used to it. I do have a hard time keeping it spotless and clean. Trying to find the Affresh cleaner and scraper. Just did up-grade to kitchen; already had KA dw, added KA cooktop, KA single wall oven (which is still sitting in my dining room), new quartz counters, The kitchen is beautiful and love what we have so far, just need the oven installed but that's another story. Maybe an "ON" light a the burner that is actually ON would help remind which burner is hot.mulie

After having new cooktop, from another manufacturer, literally burn up after 12 days we purchased this Monogram unit because it was the only one in immediate stock. We have not been disappointed. Installation was incredibly simple and took maybe 15min. Controls are simple to use and straight forward. Love the built in timer which has enough volume to hear over other noisy kitchen sounds. The included Hestan Cue 11" pan, which I thought was gimmicky, is actually really nice and we've gained quite a few cooking tips by using it. The best overall feature of this cooktop has to be the ease of cleaning. The grey finish has little dots all over it which I'm guessing helps but using a non-ammonia glass cleaner it cleans up any splatter, etc, in seconds. The fried competitors cooktop was unbearable as it was smooth black glass and no matter what always had a leftover streak. We've had this a month, and overall it's technically fine, but annoying. It works very well – heats up quickly and evenly, looks very nice, cleans up well. The problems are with the sounds and controls. It beeps annoyingly if you place anything on the control area, which is across the front center of the stove, so that means it beeps a LOT. It's driving everyone in the family nuts. And the controls require a surprising amount of pressure to engage. I know these are contradictory complaints: controls are too sensitive to pressure, and yet somehow not sensitive enough when you want them to be. Sometimes I have to pound the control multiple times to get it to move to the right heat level. Very frustrating. That said, it does always work, and the fact that the controls aren't knobs makes the whole stove easier to clean. However, it I had it to do over, I might opt for controls along one side rather than in front, and more manual rather than fancy electronic. However, it sure is an attractive stove, if there can be such a thing, and I'm not unhappy we got it.nlew
I've only had this a few days but have cooked every meal on it since the day it was installed! I love the middle 5th burner that can adjust to 3 sizes. Quick to boil water!! The smooth surface is so easy to clean and the touch control pads are modern looking. Knobs Super easy to use and it has been a breeze to adjust to how it cooks. I love the lock feature. I had this similar GE model back when it first came out in the early 2000s in another house. We've moved and hubs said I could renovate the kitchen. I knew exactly what I wanted! I have always preferred cooking on a gas stovetop but that option isn't available to me, so I replaced an older traditional electric coil cooktop which effectively had two settings: hot and hotter. I LOVE the precision my Cafe cooktop provides, from barely warm to almost instant very hot. I honestly think it's better than I can get with a gas stove. An unexpected bonus was the advantage of having a smooth cooktop in a small kitchen with limited counterspace. That is, when I'm not using my cooktop I can lock it so it's not turned on inadvertently, and then with a quilted mat over the top it becomes additional countertop.MaryT

I purchased this cooktop for its sleek look(no control knobs). I have had electric smooth ranges for many years and always liked their ease of use and cleaning. Hated the control knobs as they are the most difficult part of cleaning a stove. This cooktop has worked well even with touch controls. The only complaint is the chimes when turning on the burners or trying to turn on a burner while it is locked. Since the chimes are also a great safety feature, I will certainly get past them. I do wish I could use a burner and lock the cooktop so I couldn't accidentally turn on additional burners. Unfortunately, the lock only shut's off the entire cooktop. I just replaced my old cook top with this model and so far am impressed. The elements seem to heat up faster, and I like the ability to select the burner size. Because there are no protruding controls, when cooking for a large crowd I will throw some kitchen towels over the surface to create additional prep or other work space. I knocked off one star because the unit did not fit precisely into the existing space. It was a bit smaller than the old opening so we had to add a support piece and seal the back edge which was not overlapping the granite. It also has a deep section, which required lowering the oven situated below, and installing a new cabinet trim piece. If the GE fit guarantee is honored, I will be especially pleased. For those complaining about it is hard to keep clean – ALL glass cook tops are like this. Paying attention while cooking and using the provided products to clean up spills right away will maintain the sleek look.
I ordered this cooktop to replace another GE Profile unit that developed frequrecommended. It installed almost exactly in the previous units counter cutout. There was a minor interference with the counter top due to the relocation of the screws that hold on the control box cover on the underside of the cooktop. Otherwise it was a direct replacement for the older unit.The controls are a little different, but once you get used to them it operates as desired and is overall a good cooktop – recommended.A1s2d3f4
