I had the Canon Selphy but the ink cartridges only printed maybe 10 pics before I had to change. Opted for the Canon Tr150, Great printer. Compact, opted in for battery pack as well for portability and based on my use the first time(printing 4×6 Photo booth style pics), starter ink cartridge printed roughly 60 plus(hard to pinpoint as I had customers ask for 2-3 reprints, based off actual content count on drive). Worked well. Print quality looks good and print time was okay roughly minute per but towards end when I had multiple customers could of used a second printer though….overall I recommend. I'm above average user(events, weddings, portraits) so worth the money so far.Walter

I travel out of town and my company likes to print things last minute or make me print last minute with the possibility of not having a printer to print to. I decided to invest in a portable printer so I wouldn’t look unprofessional to my clients for not having paperwork ready. This printer was easy to setup. It has its own “wifi” so it’s almost like a bluetooth printer; no need to be connected via cable nor need a flash drive. The only con I have is that the ink doesn’t dry instantly so I’ve encountered ink smears when I accidentally touch the printed paper. It could possibly be because of fresh new ink but who knows. Either way, it’s great. I carry it in my backpack. I use the power cable but I think I’ll also invest in the battery to avoid having to carry the power adapter.STACIE

Portable compact printer designed for people on the go! Recommend getting the battery pack (LK-72, costs $99) if you want it to be truly portable. Set-up was a breeze, took me less than 5 minutes to get it connected to my home Wi-Fi (5 GHz) and was able to print my first doc as soon as the set-up was complete. It took me a bit to figure out how to switch networks from home Wi-Fi to my Verizon MiFi hot spot and to configure it to a "wireless direct" print option. All the magic happens when you select the "settings" icon that is displayed on the LCD screen, which wasn't quite obvious the first time I looked at the screen as I kept searching the app for settings option. It goes without saying "when everything else fails, read the manual". The online printer manual link on the canon app came in handy for instructions on how to configure, change settings, connect to cloud, etc. I was able to print documents off of my IPAD (over Wi-Fi), smart phone (Wi-Fi), and PC (via google cloud printer) with all the devices connected to my Verizon WiFi hot spot. I saw couple custom template options on the settings and haven't explored those yet, but I see them coming handy to print custom forms on the go. Haven't tried the USB option to connect the printer directly to the PC, but might be good option when you are not connected to the internet. I noticed the printer does consume quite a bit of ink when you choose high quality prints so be ready to shell out ~$40 for replacement cartridges. Overall, I like this printer and it is compact and portable even though it's a bit pricey for a portable printer, but definitely avoids the misery of running around to find a printer or begging someone else to get you copy of your presentation when you are on the move.TechGeek

It does NOT come with all items needed to work after set up!! I do not mind needing additional set up since it is a multi-function machine. But come on now! No user manual with instructuons, no printed sheet with easy set up that lists AT LEAST the LINKS NEEDED to DOWNLOAD more set up just to simply PRINT A DOCUMENT. No cord to connect to laptop! (Only wireless printing!). Ok but more downloading for since it is "wireless". Hum, still can't use it. I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED A PRINTER REQUIRING such work to set up. The printer was advertised as coming with installation CD and manual, however neither was in the box from HP. There was only a page referring you to their on-line set-up, which would be a problem if internet is not available. It did not come with a printer cable, although that was indicated on box. After much trouble trying to install the printer via the Wi-Fi options, and downloading the necessary software and instructions, it would not work on the local network where we were staying. Locating the necessary files and information was challenging on the HP support site, which directed you to unrelated help pages if you used the search function. Once installed, any attempt to print a page using the local wi-fi port option crashed my computer completely, requiring a hard shut-down and restart to regain control of the computer (Windows 97) after a page partially prints out. The same result if any attempt to scan a document with it. Only by shutting off all wi-fi functions of the printer and using a separately purchased USB cable could successful printing and scanning be achieved. That said, once the horrors of getting the unit set up were done, the print quality and speed is good, as is the scan operation, if somewhat cumbersome to access via their interface. The printer is compact, and easily portable, and the battery power is likely to be useful, although I have not used it so far, other than having to spend the two hours to charge the battery before being able to set it up. However, be aware that if you are traveling and not on a home or business network, the wireless functions are useless, and operation is only possible using a direct cable connection to the printer. If you don't need the scan and copy functions, I would look to a different manufacturer. I would expect the problems would be the same with the HP print-only version as the set-up software appears to be the same for both the OJ-200 (printer only) and OJ-250 (all in one) versions. If you do purchase it, get the extended Staples warranttee on it, as based on my other experience with HP printers, they fail after a year or so, and it is expensive compared to non-portable units.CHRISTOPHER

It's a very basic printer and I was able to get it connected to my phone pretty easily. It prints and scans from my phone just fine (although it's a little sluggish). My macbook, on the other hand, was a different story… I tried to get it connected to my macbook for hours and it never connected. Even looked up Youtube videos to troubleshoot and get different ways to connect it to my laptop. I gave up, it's a lost cause. Fortunately, when you sign up for the HP app, you can directly email documents to the printer itself and it'll print out. So I've been doing that as a roundabout way to print documents from my laptop and it has been working flawlessly thus far (I've had it for about one month). Overall, it does its job, but it obviously has some caveats. I wanted to splurge a bit more and get a nicer printer, but everything was sold out, so I settled for this one. I don't print or scan a ton, only once in awhile, so this will do for now. Also, I'm a simple man when it comes to printers. I just want something to plug into my laptop and just print and scan documents. All this smart app stuff is just unnecessary to me and overly complicated for what should be a simple device. But again, I had a lack of options. The app itself is good, I just find the idea around it for a freakin' printer to be ridiculous. So yea, it's a decent home printer, but if you need a printer for work, I would definitely look for something better. As far as print goes, this wasn't a bad printer, however if you want the insta-ink option and wifi, you may be in for a fight. I bought this on a Friday night and after some struggling, was able to connect to my computer and phone, via wifi. I was never able to set up the insta-ink subscription. I kept getting "there in an error with your subscription". I did print several things, including a picture, and the print was very good. However, since one of the main reasons that I purchased this printer was the ability to save money with the insta-ink program, this was only a partial success. Fast forward to Monday, when I could reach out to customer support. After 15 minute on hold with the virtual assistant, I was able to connect with customer support. He understood the issue and said it would take about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, he wanted to connect into my computer, which I was not comfortable with, so he kept having me do different steps. After another 40 minutes, I told him that I had to work and would have to contact them back. 1 hour down. After work, I contacted again through the virtual assistant. Again, they wanted to remote in, again I said no. Again said 20 minutes to fix. The printer was hooked up, I just couldn't get the insta-ink program to work. They couldn't explain why it wasn't working. after 1/2 an hour of doing the same steps over and over and she still couldn't get the insta-ink to work, I gave in and let her remote into my computer. She took another 40 minutes, but finally got the program to work but somehow managed to kill the wifi. I couldn't connect without a cable ( which was not included and I just happened to have from an old printer) and she had no idea why. She sait that was another department and I would have to contact them. Anothe hour and a half of my time (I'm up to 2 and 1/2 hours now) and still don't have my printer working. Fast forward to Tuesday, after work, I contacted the department that she instructed me to, this time I held on the phone for 20 minutes or so. Again, when rhe person answered, he sai 20 minutes to fix (this must be a standard answer for everything). This time, when he wanted to remote in, I gave assess. He kept taking to me, explaining what he was doing, but again, could only get the printer to work wit a cable. When I asked what he would have done it I didn't have a cable, he said that he could've mailed one or I would've had to gone out and purchased 1. But he was going to fix it so that I could print via wifi. After almost an hour and a half, he reset the printer to factory specs, had me turn off the printer and restart my computer. My computer came back on, the printer never did. He said that the printer was outdated and that there were better ones now. I gave up. He wanted to keep working, told him I wasn't interested, that I was packing the printer back up and returning to store. He wanted me to give more time… after giving HP over 4 hours of my life, I said enough. Packed the printer up, Will never purchase an HP again.JayneG

I needed a small all in one for the space it had to go into. Printers started getting rather large compared to what they were years ago and it was getting hard to find one to fit in the space. It's a cheap printer, feels like a cheap printer and I don't know how long it'll last but it may surprise me. HP claims it to have a 1000 page per month duty cycle and I don't print anywhere near that number so maybe it will last 4 or 5 years … or maybe not. I've only owned this a couple of days and so far all the functions seem to work OK. It was very difficult to set up using a wifi network with a security password so one word of advice – use your smart phone to install it on a secure network. The phone set the printer up quickly after I struggled for quite a while on the computer. Also, you need to log into the printer for internet access and it asks you for a password – I found it is either just the "enter" button or "space" then "enter" buttons. Once I got it all set up it seems to be working OK. One thing I've always hated with the 2 ink cartridge system is wasting some unused expensive ink; I've signed up for the trial of the instant ink program to see if it is more economical to do it that way. I took away 1 star because of the setup and how cheap it feels. I would have probably bought a little better all in one if they made more (and the store having more options at the time of purchase) of the size I need. If it lasts for 4+ years based on my usage that will be great.Vinny

The OfficeJet 200 Mobile is compact and weighs approximately 6 pounds, the size of a big-screen laptop. It holds 50-sheets and handles multiple sizes and thickness of stock. Printed pages land on whatever surface the printer is sitting on, eliminating the need for an output tray. The print speed is something to be expected of any mobile printer – not extremely fast but not extremely slow either. Setting up was fairly easy. Initial setup took less than 20 minutes. The printer is easy to configure and use on the go. It is light enough to carry, turn on, and start printing from any mobile device that supports Wi-Fi Direct/Wireless Direct or that has a USB port on it. You’ll need a WEP password for WiFi. The OfficeJet 200 supports another mobile-connectivity feature, called HP Auto Wireless Connect that, once set up, printer reconnects with your computer or mobile device automatically when the two devices “see” each other again. Although the OfficeJet 200 is not meant as a photo printer, photos printed on premium paper came out a very good quality. When ready to recharge the battery for the next show, demonstration or next day’s work, simply charge the battery off AC power with the unit turned off and reach a full charge within 90 minutes. You can also charge the battery, more slowly, via a USB connection. The battery is good for about 500 prints. A disadvantage is, since the OfficeJet 200 uses only two ink cartridges, an outage of just one color means you'll have to replace the whole three-color cartridge instead of each individual color. Well, if you are considering buying this printer, I recommend it ONLY if you get the extra Geek warranty. One year 10 months later with a call to HP support and "I'm sorry, the final solution is to buy a new printer because of the hardware failure". Lol, the FINAL solution. It was great while working. I'm still on the fence if I'll get another or switch brands. If anyone has the same issue, I was told this error code is related to the printer network not allowing it to connect either to wired or wireless internet and could not be fixed by me or any authorized retailer. I do a lot of youth program volunteer work and when at camp I usually need office functionality so I've been lugging around an All In One printer which was not too convenient. Even for simple printing a small printer still required a power source. Enter the Epson Workforce WF-110 to save the day. It's amazingly small and light-weight (roughly 12"x6"x2.5" at 3.5lbs, in comparison to most color inkjet printers). It has a rechargable Lithium battery to make this an ultra-portable printer. Heck, there is even a supplimental external battery that you can purchase to extend combined battery life. It has wireless capability, either as a network printer or using Wifi Direct with any smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop with WiFi connectivity or you can connect directly with the supplied USB cable (which also charges the battery in the printer). In conjunction with a cell phone using Adobe scan to photocopy documents I can directly send those photo-scanned documents to the printer so no more need for the bulky All In Ones. This printer is compatible with most portable devices such as iOS, Android, FireOS, Windows but using it with a Windows 10 S device requires you to obtain an Epson print and scan app from the Windows Store (I'm not running Windows 10 S on any of my devices so I was unable to verify operation). I did seamless print a photo-scanned document using my Android phone. Extremely easy. Due to its compact size the ink cartridges are a bit on the small side and you can expect about 200 page average. It requires 2 cartridges – one black and one tri-color. There is also a ink waste cartridge that you need to replace occassionally. I think this is a well thought out product fitting a specific need. I definitely wouldn't use it for a lot of printing for a number of reasons. The paper feed tray is limited, there is no paper output tray so you need it on a flat surface with some room in front or you need something to catch the printing. At almost $300 it is a bit pricey and there are cheaper home or small business printing options available (you can get an All In One home/office printer for less than $100 like the Epson XP-440). But if you don't print much at home and need something portable much this might be a good overall solution. I love this printer! It's a perfect solution to my mobile needs. The only thing I wish they would have included is a carrying case. Since it's a mobile printer it should really have a case. Of course there are 3rd party cases available online from various sources.Technopackrat

I've been looking for a truly compact and portable printer to take out with me on sales presentations and negotiations to write and print contracts, photos, and leave behinds on the fly. It's so much more satisfying and leaves a greater impression when you can print out new contract terms or sell sheets and give it to your client right then and there. If you're looking for such a printer, the Epson WF-110 fits the bill admirably. There's a lot to like here. Size wise, it's competitive with other printers in this category, should fit inside an average briefcase, and fits perfectly in my leather laptop messenger bag. At about 3 pounds, it weighs about the same as another laptop, which is remarkable when we're talking about a wifi printer with a built-in battery that can do legal, letter, 5×7, and 4×6 prints. The battery is good for 50 color and 100 black and white prints, which should be good for most portable purposes, however I always bring the AC/charging cable with me anyway. Getting setup to print is a pretty quick and easy affair as well. The printer has a little digital screen to hook it up to your WiFi network for wireless printing, or you can connect to it directly if a network is unavailable. From my Android phone, it was as simple as downloading the "Epson iPrint" app and following the prompts, and from my MacBook I just had to add a printer in System Preferences and it was ready to go in just a few clicks. I think setting up the printer's WiFi as the first step will make everything else easier setup wise. I was able to configure both my laptop and phone with the printer in about 8 minutes and haven't had to reset or reconfigure anything else since, so I'm pleased. I was able to print from my laptop and phone with the printer 40 feet away in another room at the other end of the house, so I'm happy with the range as well. Print speed wise, it's noticeably slower than a regular full-sized printer, but you have to expect some compromise when going to something smaller, lighter, and portable. Black print speeds aren't bad at all, but full color prints slow it down considerably, which is why I think this is more suited for contracts and mostly text based prints. However, it does print photos and images fairly well. On Kodak Super Glossy 4×6 paper my color photo prints came out with good color and passable resolution. It's sharp enough to put up on a fridge door and most conventional photo prints, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for professional quality photo printer crispness. That's a bit unreasonable to expect in this compact package anyway. Thankfully, it does a great job for text, word docs, emails, and webpage printing on basic 8.5×11 paper. If you're looking for a quality portable, wireless color printer, definitely give the Epson WF-110 a look. You can essentially fit an entire office workstation (printer, paper, laptop, chargers) in a messenger bag.BIGASN

As a Realtor, I'm constantly on the go and working with documents on every transaction. Although many documents can be signed electronically, there's still a very real need for printing contracts and other documents on the go. With the Epson WF-110 portable inkjet printer, there is now a solution. This small printer is the BIG solution! As an Epson printer user, my expectations for ease-of-use and reliability were already set high, and the WF-110 does not disappoint. Most of the setup processes and features are the same as a full sized office printer, all packed into a unit that is about a foot long, half that in width and about 2" tall. This printer fits in my bag along with my laptop and iPad when I'm on the go. In the box, Epson provides the printer, black and 3-color ink cartridges, charging cable, USB cable, replacement maintenance box, CD-ROM with drivers and a hearty user's manual. The user's manual has a quick start section, which I read through before getting started. From unboxing to printing via WiFi took about 10 minutes. This includes downloading the proper drivers from the Epson site, setting up the WiFi connection and installing and charging the ink cartridges. Setup is done on your computer and on the 1.4" color LCD on the printer. Battery Life – the battery was partially charged when unboxed, so using the included power cord I connected it and began charging while setting up. Overall it took about 2 hours to fully charge. I've already taken it on the road to a couple of Open Houses and printed out disclosures, contracts and assorted documents. The battery is still showing 2 of 3 bars. This really surprised me as I expected to have to carry the power cord (and I did initially) when I took it on the road. Now I simply make sure it's fully charged and I put it in my bag for the day. I would recommend keeping the printer on the power cord if it's going to be used all day in a small office environment. Print Quality & Speed – This is a portable printer, so I expected it to lack decent output and speed in lieu of portability. Not the case, as the B&W and color output is above average and compares to the output I've seen out of office printers. Speed is also great, it's listed at just under 7 pages a minute in B&W, and it easily and quickly printed every job I sent it's way. I have not printed any photos as of yet, as this is my road warrior and will print photos on my office machine. WiFi and AirPrint – I'm an Apple user and my current WF printer doesn't support AirPrint, so I was really excited to see it's supported on the WF-110. Printer and WiFi setup was done through a wizard on my Mac and once setup, my iPad and iPhone automatically recognized the WF-110 as an option in AirPrint. WOW, it couldn't have been easier. There is also the Epson Connect options which allows printing to the WF-110 from anywhere via a dedicated email for the printer, pretty cool! Controls – The 1.4" color LCD is very easy to use along with the toggle buttons on the control panel of the printer. The paper tray hold about 20 pieces of paper and is easy to adjust to different paper sizes. Pros: – Portability – this printer will fit in most backpacks or briefcases – Rechargeable Battery – no need to carry the power cord when on the road. – WiFi and AirPrint support – Excellent print quality in both B&W and color – Did I mention Portability, yeah, it's small, light and performs like larger office printers. Cons: – This is a niche printer and should not be considered a replacement for an office printer..unless you are limited with space and don't have significant printing needs. (not really even a Con, but should be noted) Overall, the Epson WorkForce WF-110 portable printer has changed the way I can do business on the road. This is such a cute little portable printer, a great price, and the quality of the pictures are awesome. I was hesitant at first but I am glad I ordered it. The pictures print out exactly how they look on your phone and the app is super easy to use.Rebert

My son had been wanting a Polaroid or similar but I thought carrying around a camera and phone was redundant and found this and he loves it! She prints pictures all the time. The software works great and had no issues (she has an iPhone X). Definitely recommend!Casey

The HP Sprocket Photo Printer is the first model I have heard or used from HP. Though I have used similar Poloroid cameras in the past (such as the Fujifilm Instax – which usually always produced photos with a "washed out" or old school effect), I really like that I can print from my smartphone rather than the actual camera unit. The device is very easy to use. All I had to do was connect it to my iPhone via bluetooth and then download the Sprocket printing app available on the App Store. From the app, I can print photos that are already in my photos library on my phone, or print photos from social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. I much prefer this rather than carrying an extra camera unit such as the Instax. This also allows my friends and family members to connect and easily print their own photos. You can also add effects in the app which is nice. You can then resave the edited photos into your photo library to share or re-print later. The print quality is just okay. It is kind of what you expect for an inkless printer that is meant for fast and fun convenience. I can see horizontal lines in some photos, and vertical ones in others (maybe this is because of the different photo orientations I was printing). The colors were bland but still better than the old Instax I used to use. I wouldn`t recommend using this printer for something like wedding or other special occasion photos which deserve higher quality. I do like that it takes no more than a minute to print a photo. After doing some browsing online to see how much extra paper costs, I was kind of shocked. At around $0.50 per page, these are expensive little sheets! I`m not sure if I would continue to use this product unless I can cut that cost by half. I would also like to see the price of the actual unit drop to $100 or less so that more people can afford and consider purchasing this as a gift. I think this would be a decent gift for kids. Cons: Cannot print over wifi or through networks, no USB/flash drive support (or any other types of memory), print quality is just okay. I would consider other options but for a quick gift for a teen or younger, I think this would be great.Samir P

The Sprocket is really cool way to print pictures from your phone. Its easy to do just download an app and then you can print out pictures. You can also add filters and words and personalize them. Its just a fun way to print pictures since everything is on our phones now. The machine is cute and you don't have to buy ink for it. You do have to purchase the paper and that can be found easily online. Would recommendkim.t

I have spent a few days with the HP Sprocket printer now. It is a unique device with that will stand out to certain users – specifically those wanting a fun way to print photos off social media. The prints come out as 2×3 wallet size photos that double as stickers. The device itself – It is very small and portable for what it is, it is about the size of 2 average sized cell phones stacked on top of each other. It charges with a micro-usb port, which didn`t take long and then it can print without needing to be plugged in. I am not sure how many prints you get from one charge, but I`ve printed 10 photos and it still has power, so that`s pretty impressive. As far as usability, it is pretty simple – the instructions just guide you to download the Sprocket app for your cell phone. Once you have done this, it will walk you through getting your first photo printed. You can add frames, filters, stickers, text and more to your photos, making this more geared towards printing fun photos instead of something that is going in a frame on a wall. I enjoyed the experience. The HP OfficeJet 200 is a must-have for the busy professional or someone with a hobby who travels a lot and needs to print documents on the spot, perhaps a contract, drawing or receipt. The OfficeJet 200 Mobile is compact and weighs approximately 6 pounds, the size of a big-screen laptop. It holds 50-sheets and handles multiple sizes and thickness of stock. Printed pages land on whatever surface the printer is sitting on, eliminating the need for an output tray. The print speed is something to be expected of any mobile printer – not extremely fast but not extremely slow either. Setting up was fairly easy. Initial setup took less than 20 minutes. The printer is easy to configure and use on the go. It is light enough to carry, turn on, and start printing from any mobile device that supports Wi-Fi Direct/Wireless Direct or that has a USB port on it. You’ll need a WEP password for WiFi. The OfficeJet 200 can also print from USB thumb drives, as well as PictBridge-compatible digital cameras and other PictBridge-ready devices, via another USB port dedicated to that, or cloud sites. Text is clear enough for most business applications needed on the spot, like handouts, diagrams and flyers. Colors are bright, clear, and accurate, and the graphics and photos embedded in documents came out detailed and without perceptible banding. When ready to recharge the battery for the next show, demonstration or next day’s work, simply charge the battery off AC power with the unit turned off and reach a full charge within 90 minutes. A disadvantage is, since the OfficeJet 200 uses only two ink cartridges, an outage of just one color means you'll have to replace the whole three-color cartridge instead of each individual color. Well, if you are considering buying this printer, I recommend it ONLY if you get the extra Geek warranty. One year 10 months later with a call to HP support and "I'm sorry, the final solution is to buy a new printer because of the hardware failure". Lol, the FINAL solution. It was great while working. I'm still on the fence if I'll get another or switch brands. If anyone has the same issue, I was told this error code is related to the printer network not allowing it to connect either to wired or wireless internet and could not be fixed by me or any authorized retailer. The HP Sprocket Photo Printer is the first model I have heard or used from HP. Though I have used similar Poloroid cameras in the past (such as the Fujifilm Instax – which usually always produced photos with a "washed out" or old school effect), I really like that I can print from my smartphone rather than the actual camera unit. The device is very easy to use. All I had to do was connect it to my iPhone via bluetooth and then download the Sprocket printing app available on the App Store. From the app, I can print photos that are already in my photos library on my phone, or print photos from social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. I much prefer this rather than carrying an extra camera unit such as the Instax. This also allows my friends and family members to connect and easily print their own photos. You can also add effects in the app which is nice. You can then resave the edited photos into your photo library to share or re-print later. The print quality is just okay. It is kind of what you expect for an inkless printer that is meant for fast and fun convenience. I can see horizontal lines in some photos, and vertical ones in others (maybe this is because of the different photo orientations I was printing). The colors were bland but still better than the old Instax I used to use. I wouldn`t recommend using this printer for something like wedding or other special occasion photos which deserve higher quality. I do like that it takes no more than a minute to print a photo. After doing some browsing online to see how much extra paper costs, I was kind of shocked. At around $0.50 per page, these are expensive little sheets! I`m not sure if I would continue to use this product unless I can cut that cost by half. I would also like to see the price of the actual unit drop to $100 or less so that more people can afford and consider purchasing this as a gift. I think this would be a decent gift for kids. Cons: Cannot print over wifi or through networks, no USB/flash drive support (or any other types of memory), print quality is just okay. The Sprocket is really cool way to print pictures from your phone. Its easy to do just download an app and then you can print out pictures. You can also add filters and words and personalize them. Its just a fun way to print pictures since everything is on our phones now. The machine is cute and you don't have to buy ink for it. I have spent a few days with the HP Sprocket printer now. It is a unique device with that will stand out to certain users – specifically those wanting a fun way to print photos off social media. The prints come out as 2×3 wallet size photos that double as stickers. The device itself – It is very small and portable for what it is, it is about the size of 2 average sized cell phones stacked on top of each other. It charges with a micro-usb port, which didn`t take long and then it can print without needing to be plugged in. I am not sure how many prints you get from one charge, but I`ve printed 10 photos and it still has power, so that`s pretty impressive. As far as usability, it is pretty simple – the instructions just guide you to download the Sprocket app for your cell phone. Once you have done this, it will walk you through getting your first photo printed. You can add frames, filters, stickers, text and more to your photos, making this more geared towards printing fun photos instead of something that is going in a frame on a wall. It's a very basic printer and I was able to get it connected to my phone pretty easily. It prints and scans from my phone just fine (although it's a little sluggish). My macbook, on the other hand, was a different story… I tried to get it connected to my macbook for hours and it never connected. Even looked up Youtube videos to troubleshoot and get different ways to connect it to my laptop. I gave up, it's a lost cause. Fortunately, when you sign up for the HP app, you can directly email documents to the printer itself and it'll print out. So I've been doing that as a roundabout way to print documents from my laptop and it has been working flawlessly thus far (I've had it for about one month). Overall, it does its job, but it obviously has some caveats. I wanted to splurge a bit more and get a nicer printer, but everything was sold out, so I settled for this one. I don't print or scan a ton, only once in awhile, so this will do for now. Also, I'm a simple man when it comes to printers. I just want something to plug into my laptop and just print and scan documents. All this smart app stuff is just unnecessary to me and overly complicated for what should be a simple device. As far as print goes, this wasn't a bad printer, however if you want the insta-ink option and wifi, you may be in for a fight. I bought this on a Friday night and after some struggling, was able to connect to my computer and phone, via wifi. I was never able to set up the insta-ink subscription. I kept getting "there in an error with your subscription". I did print several things, including a picture, and the print was very good. However, since one of the main reasons that I purchased this printer was the ability to save money with the insta-ink program, this was only a partial success. Fast forward to Monday, when I could reach out to customer support. After 15 minute on hold with the virtual assistant, I was able to connect with customer support. He understood the issue and said it would take about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, he wanted to connect into my computer, which I was not comfortable with, so he kept having me do different steps. After another 40 minutes, I told him that I had to work and would have to contact them back. 1 hour down. After work, I contacted again through the virtual assistant. Again, they wanted to remote in, again I said no. Again said 20 minutes to fix. The printer was hooked up, I just couldn't get the insta-ink program to work. They couldn't explain why it wasn't working. after 1/2 an hour of doing the same steps over and over and she still couldn't get the insta-ink to work, I gave in and let her remote into my computer. She took another 40 minutes, but finally got the program to work but somehow managed to kill the wifi. I couldn't connect without a cable ( which was not included and I just happened to have from an old printer) and she had no idea why. She sait that was another department and I would have to contact them. Anothe hour and a half of my time (I'm up to 2 and 1/2 hours now) and still don't have my printer working. Fast forward to Tuesday, after work, I contacted the department that she instructed me to, this time I held on the phone for 20 minutes or so. Again, when rhe person answered, he sai 20 minutes to fix (this must be a standard answer for everything). This time, when he wanted to remote in, I gave assess. He kept taking to me, explaining what he was doing, but again, could only get the printer to work wit a cable. When I asked what he would have done it I didn't have a cable, he said that he could've mailed one or I would've had to gone out and purchased 1. But he was going to fix it so that I could print via wifi. After almost an hour and a half, he reset the printer to factory specs, had me turn off the printer and restart my computer. My computer came back on, the printer never did. He said that the printer was outdated and that there were better ones now. I gave up. He wanted to keep working, told him I wasn't interested, that I was packing the printer back up and returning to store. He wanted me to give more time… after giving HP over 4 hours of my life, I said enough. Packed the printer up, Will never purchase an HP again.JayneG

I needed a small all in one for the space it had to go into. Printers started getting rather large compared to what they were years ago and it was getting hard to find one to fit in the space. It's a cheap printer, feels like a cheap printer and I don't know how long it'll last but it may surprise me. HP claims it to have a 1000 page per month duty cycle and I don't print anywhere near that number so maybe it will last 4 or 5 years … or maybe not. I've only owned this a couple of days and so far all the functions seem to work OK. It was very difficult to set up using a wifi network with a security password so one word of advice – use your smart phone to install it on a secure network. The phone set the printer up quickly after I struggled for quite a while on the computer. Also, you need to log into the printer for internet access and it asks you for a password – I found it is either just the "enter" button or "space" then "enter" buttons. Once I got it all set up it seems to be working OK. One thing I've always hated with the 2 ink cartridge system is wasting some unused expensive ink; I've signed up for the trial of the instant ink program to see if it is more economical to do it that way. I took away 1 star because of the setup and how cheap it feels. I would have probably bought a little better all in one if they made more (and the store having more options at the time of purchase) of the size I need. If it lasts for 4+ years based on my usage that will be great.Vinny

I had the Canon Selphy but the ink cartridges only printed maybe 10 pics before I had to change. Opted for the Canon Tr150, Great printer. Compact, opted in for battery pack as well for portability and based on my use the first time(printing 4×6 Photo booth style pics), starter ink cartridge printed roughly 60 plus(hard to pinpoint as I had customers ask for 2-3 reprints, based off actual content count on drive). Worked well. Print quality looks good and print time was okay roughly minute per but towards end when I had multiple customers could of used a second printer though….overall I recommend. I'm above average user(events, weddings, portraits) so worth the money so far.Walter

I travel out of town and my company likes to print things last minute or make me print last minute with the possibility of not having a printer to print to. I decided to invest in a portable printer so I wouldn’t look unprofessional to my clients for not having paperwork ready. This printer was easy to setup. It has its own “wifi” so it’s almost like a bluetooth printer; no need to be connected via cable nor need a flash drive. The only con I have is that the ink doesn’t dry instantly so I’ve encountered ink smears when I accidentally touch the printed paper. It could possibly be because of fresh new ink but who knows. Either way, it’s great. I carry it in my backpack. I use the power cable but I think I’ll also invest in the battery to avoid having to carry the power adapter.STACIE

Portable compact printer designed for people on the go! Recommend getting the battery pack (LK-72, costs $99) if you want it to be truly portable. Set-up was a breeze, took me less than 5 minutes to get it connected to my home Wi-Fi (5 GHz) and was able to print my first doc as soon as the set-up was complete. It took me a bit to figure out how to switch networks from home Wi-Fi to my Verizon MiFi hot spot and to configure it to a "wireless direct" print option. All the magic happens when you select the "settings" icon that is displayed on the LCD screen, which wasn't quite obvious the first time I looked at the screen as I kept searching the app for settings option. It goes without saying "when everything else fails, read the manual". The online printer manual link on the canon app came in handy for instructions on how to configure, change settings, connect to cloud, etc. I was able to print documents off of my IPAD (over Wi-Fi), smart phone (Wi-Fi), and PC (via google cloud printer) with all the devices connected to my Verizon WiFi hot spot. I saw couple custom template options on the settings and haven't explored those yet, but I see them coming handy to print custom forms on the go. Haven't tried the USB option to connect the printer directly to the PC, but might be good option when you are not connected to the internet. I noticed the printer does consume quite a bit of ink when you choose high quality prints so be ready to shell out ~$40 for replacement cartridges. Overall, I like this printer and it is compact and portable even though it's a bit pricey for a portable printer, but definitely avoids the misery of running around to find a printer or begging someone else to get you copy of your presentation when you are on the move.TechGeek

I bought this printer for school because a couple teachers need us to print things for some reason. It’s a really cool printer and it doesn’t take up too much space. I don’t print that much only for the occasional forms or pictures so I don’t know how much of a load it can handle but it prints just like a normal printer I guess. It doesn’t scan documents but I don’t need that feature anyway. It’s very easy to set up, putting in the ink was the hardest part because in slow. Keep in mind that your not only investing in a printer but also ink so I would suggest signing up for the instant ink. Pros: I like the size of the printer and the neatness ie only one cable and cover streamlines it even further. Print quality is good – when it prints!! Cons: Pain having to manually do the back to back but not the end of the world. Worst part is that it constantly loses connectivity and shows message 'printer offline'. Because it's cable free you cannot connect to either the router or the pc/laptop to try and reconnect. Done the reinstall HP Smart app, unplug printer, unplug router, power down laptop. Horribly disappointing. Ink cartridges are very small, requiring constant/expensive replacements – ink supply will deplete rapidly after printing regular office documents (not the more ink intensive photos). I am a big fan of Canon product. Their things work well with each other with no hassle and good reliability. This unit is just what I wanted to replace my 15 year old Canon printer. The Good: Set-up is basically straightforward and easy. Wireless Wi-Fi hook-up went smoothly. Print colors are fine for everyday use. I was replacing my LBP6230 Laser printer that I had used for over 10 years but the quality of the printing was inconsistent so I decided to replace it. I decided my printing needs had changed and went with the lower cost LBP6030 laser printer. The text and graphics looked as good as the LBP6230 when it was printing good. The on feature I miss is the ability to automatically print on both sides. But I knew that when I bought this printer. I only need two sided printing less than 2% of the time and I can still manually do it.John

After years of horrible experiences with inkjet printers from the same manufacturer, I have to say the ease and reliability of this little machine is a pleasure. I'm still on the starter toner after 2 months of use, and the fact that it prints immediately, quietly and without jams is a pure joy. Opened the package and set it up, took about 30 minutes +. Setting up on a Mac for wifi took some time, HP and Epson do it better (for this). The main purpose of purchasing this printer was for foiling. After doing some lengthly and spotty research, I ended on this. I waited until the price dropped around Black Friday and it shipped very quickly–evening arriving a day early! It sat around until I could muster the energy (holidays are draining) to pull it out and find a place to put it alongside my Epson inkjet. I did a test print and then used heat to transfer the foil, needless to say, it works. If you are like me and are still wondering about whether it works for foiling, look no further, this works, has wifi and is cheap (hopefully the cheapness won't lead to short-term uses. A few of the reviews of this printer state that print paper can be fed from the front as well as the rear. This model is rear feed only. Since it's impossible to mis-state this if you own one, it is reasonable to conclude that is that some of these review are bogus. Whoever has the biggest incentive to assure genuine reviews really needs to address this. The idea of separate tanks is appealing, since it creates a sense of economical operation compared to the unified tank designs. But you can still expect to use a lot of ink, per my own experience and according to cost-per-page comparisons I have read online. I don't have a problem with this – every printer sold neds a strategy to make money and this is what happens with low cost printers. Finally, if you want to avoid the wireless setup but also want to print from two computers in the same room, consider a 2.0 Manual Switch Selector, such as the Newlink sold elsewhere on eBay. The printer has been in use for only a short time, but so far, so good. It does what I need it to do, and right now, I expect nothing more. When I first started using desk-top printing, I began with a Canon. When it gave out, I went to another manufacturer. Looking back, probably not a good move: Two of the other brand gave out in less than five years, so back to Canon. I try to operate under two guidelines after buying a product: If the product serve well for a reasonable time, would I buy another? and, Would I recommend the product to another buyer who may be looking for something similar? I was excited about this printer because of how small it is, but after two weeks I'm extremely disappointed by it and would return it if I was still in the Best Buy return period. Setting up the printer requires connecting it to wifi through the HP mobile app. No problem. It was my understanding however–from an official answer on the HP website itself (screenshot attached)–that opting in to the HP+ program, and consenting to always leave the printer connected to the internet/never use 3rd party cartridges, was optional. This appeared to be true in the first few days I had the printer: I went through the setup steps in the mobile app successfully, then when it prompted me to sign up for HP+ (without a Decline option), I was able to print so I just closed the app and moved on. The printer worked fine for the first 20 pages I printed, then stopped printing with an error stating I needed to complete the setup process. Well it turns out that in reality, completing the setup process is not actually possible without opting in to HP+, and without that opt-in the printer is now a $130 brick on my desk. I have no interest in promising HP I'll always leave this printer connected to the internet and always use their cartridges. My last HP printer lasted me nearly 20 years. Will the web service that this thing connects to for permission to operate even exist at that point? Probably not. Particularly frustratingly, I successfully printed some things right after setting it up, but didn't hit that 20 page threshold where it completely locked up until it was outside of the return window. On top of all of this, the print quality is pretty bad. I wasn't expecting perfection here, I recognized that with this model I was trading DPI for a smaller form factor. That said, I expect a laser printer to produce crisp text. This printer does not produce crisp text. Regardless of the source document, it produces strangely jagged/dithered text that looks significantly worse than a cheap inkjet. So here I am with a printer that produced 20 fuzzy pages before demanding my indefinite loyalty to HP before ever printing again, and I'm left wondering: why would I ever buy another HP product?adelessert

Unfortunately, this is second HP printer I have bought in the last year that has not lived up to expectations. My first one (an inkjet photo printer) stopped working unexpectedly within 4 months of buying, and after following user guides and YouTube videos for a week, I officially called it a lost cause and ended up trashing it. As a hobby, I print and bind books for myself and others. When I print, I print anywhere between 100-300 pages at a time. I bought this printer because of it's portability, size, price, and I also didn't need any additional features (i.e. – fax, scanner, etc). The machine occasionally overheats. I did not find this anywhere in user reviews for this machine (and I researched for DAYS before deciding to purchase this one). I end up having to wait anywhere between 10-15 minutes for the subunit to cool down before continuing. If I have 20-30 signatures, each containing 10-20 double sided pages, I end up having to wait every 5 of 6 signatures. In addition, because it does not have auto two-sided printing, I have to manually move my signatures and alternate between printing even and odd pages. While this in and of itself is not difficult, this causes the pages to misalign. Therefore I end up with a two-sided page where the margins are different on front and back. I have done all I can to try and fix this, but nothing seems to work. The last straw (and what has made this a 2 star review) is the print quality for text. I am incredibly unhappy with the way my last document just printed. The text is NOT clear and came out choppy. I have two examples, one printed with the laser jet and one with my inkjet photo printer – I think it's most evident in the photos w/o flash. I am printing from a document I created in InDesign, converted to PDF – so it's not an issue with the document. I ended up stopping one signature in and switched to my inkjet for the rest (which is now a canon photo printer that I LOVE), which resulted in using all my blank ink because I had to get this printed one way or another… All in all, if you are printing little to none and don't need all bells and whistles (and also don't mind subpar print quality), this is an OK machine. The black is truly black compared to an inkjet printer which is nice. Setup was straight-forward. Otherwise, PASS and spend the extra $100 for a better quality printer. This printer literally came out of the box ready to use. The setup guide that comes in the box is super easy to read and understand. All I had to do was literally take the printer out of the box, plug it in, remove some protective tape and download the HP Smart software on my phone by taking a picture of the QR code in the Setup Guide. It was that simple! It even took only a minute to get the HP Smart Software loaded on my computer as well. The printer itself is very fast and quiet and being so small doesn’t take up much real estate on my desk at all. It works seamlessly from a phone print job to a computer one. The second I press print on any device, this printer starts working and spits out the sheet in record time. The only thing I was not happy about was the lack of a paper drawer as the paper needs to sit freely on my desk in the paper feed. Other than that, I couldn’t find anything I didn’t like about this printer. The buttons are also very self-explanatory including the quick copy button which was seamless! Moving to the software, the HP Smart software is a very simple platform which makes it simple to scan and print documents right from the software itself, yet the only limitation is it only supports PDF documents directly from the software. It automatically adds the printer to your list of computers, though, so that you can print any type of document from your computer directly from other platforms such as Word and Excel to name a few. I am so glad I bought this printer before the pandemic. I needed it when I was attended college and all the printers lab printer had some type of problems or the next lab office was far from my classes. So I decided to buy this printer to carry with me to have my assignment printed for my instructor. Even thought I did not use it for my purpose at that time, I recently open my printer box this semester and I love it! This printer is all I use now. Only one problem it makes a loud noise when it begin to print but otherwise I like it. I mean I love! I plan to call Epson and ask if the noise is normal or not. This printer contains nothing but headaches. I have replaced ink cartridges twice, maintenance box once already and I am now unable to print something greyscale because the color cartridge is empty (yes, I followed the directions on "how to bypass" but it doesn't work. Surprise surprise, the monitoring software does nothing to help. It only forces you to their website to buy something new.) All told, I think I've only ACTUALLY printed around 25 pages with this thing. I bought it because it's small and portable. So it gets a star for the compact size, portability and battery life. This would be a great printer – good print quality, small, wireless, rechargeable – if it worked regularly. Ink cartridges are preposterously expensive and don’t last long, which would be a problem if the printer worked long enough to use up the ink. The printer has constant error message, most often that the ridiculously expensive ink cartridges are “not recognized.” Please, do not buy this printer. Don’t even think about buying it.Me yep me

Purchased a week ago. Smooth, easy wireless set up. Quick B & W printing. Prints card stock, photo paper, both glossy & matte very well. Rear feed great for cards & photos. Scanning is easy with numerous functions. Would give 5 stars if it had an ink system that was more economical. So far, I think this is an excellent printer and a good value. I had purchased a Brother printer in the store that was $100 more because it was in stock, and the Canon was not, but it would not print cards without jamming, so I returned it. Staples credited my visa without any questions or hassle. Had to order the Canon online, but it came overnight, and it is a much better printer, for a lot less money. Will continue to purchase from Staples due to this excellent customer service experience.SUSAN

So far, so good! I have terrible luck with printers and they just don't seem to last. This one replaced another Canon PIXMA that I was never able to get connected wirelessly and would constantly give me errors that it wasn't connected or offline. So, understandably I was a little hesitant to get another Canon. This one had decent reviews which were on par with or better than the others I was looking at, and since it was on sale for a fantastic price, I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! Setup was a breeze, and this is the first printer that I've had that not only easily connected wirelessly, but has stayed connected. Even adding my smartphone to wirelessly print was a piece of cake. This printer practically set itself up every step of the way. It does everything it said it would do and is easily meeting my needs. So far I'm extremely happy.ToyFoxGirl

I want to start with the good that could have earned this unit 5 stars by itself. The MFC-J1205w multipurpose printer is magnificent. The colors on my presentation were flawless with no paper bleed while printing. The machine prints black and white at a surprisingly great rate of speed for a printer in this price point too. Picture printing is actually really good but that is not what I think of as the go to for this unit. I still do not quite believe the Inkvestment portion of this product, but I will say I printed a ton of stuff and according to Brother’s I can print a ton more at almost 1,200 pages worth before having to get a refill. Brother like others has a pay refill program that I perused on and feel like it could be a great value when the time comes. On to the negative for me, I gave this device 3 stars ONLY because I was not a fan of the original setup process. It took me forever just to get the printer to connect to my WiFi. Then I had several issues with the drivers for my PC, the Brother website registration process, and the app. I am pretty easy going with regards to setup and installation, especially on a new device but this was silly. I 100 percent understand that they will work through these hiccups, but it is 2021 and their competitors don't have these bumps. Once installed though, everything works fine printing and scanning from the PC. The app is super fluid and easy to use on my android device. But I always think about how easy this would be for my mother to come over and print to. It would not be right now for this particular Brother's printer. So, for now 3 not 5 stars and I am not just being generous with that the print again earned those hands down.Christopher

Brother printers seem to be of exceptionally high quality. The last one I had worked for 11 years and then started printing only blank pages. I tried a Canon next but after only a month or 2, it stopped printing under Windows, though its scanner/copier function still worked. So, I went back with a Brother. I had wanted to buy Brother before but my local OD store didn't have any in stock. So, I ordered this unit from their web site. It's been a few months now and it still prints fine, so it must have been the previous Canon that was defective. Let's hope this one lasts another 11 years! The ink tanks also appear to be an improvement over the old ink cartridge system. With my old Brother, I had to replace the ink cartridges every few months. On this one, I haven't had to get new ink tanks yet. Another improvement over my old Brother is it would clean itself seemingly every day, which, to me, was just a means to waste ink and force you to buy ink cartridges more often than you needed to. This model appears to clean itself only when the power is cycled back on after it's been turned off.dbminter

The Brother MFCJ1205W INKvestment printer seems like Brothers entry-level INKvestment printer seeing that it is just your basic 3in1 Print, Copy and Scan printer. However, it does come with wireless technology by the way of WIFI and has an app called Brother Mobile Connect that enables you to print any document or picture you desire from your phone. The app is very well laid out and easy to use. I would have liked to have seen more info on the different ways to set up the printer on the network with direct connect and using the IP address of the printer and cloud print in the set up instructions. The easiest way to get it online is to just add it to your network during set up on your computer when it gives you the choice. I tried setting it to local on the computer it was connected to and it still prompted me to let it be connected to the internet on a couple of the additional steps for diagnostics and ink management etc. I was going to connect it local and use direct connect to print from my phone and I could not get it to work that way like I have before with other printers. It may do it but with the Brother software suite installed on the computer they really want the printer online so they can tell you when to buy more Brother ink for it and for diagnostics as well as the online suite that is available. I just went ahead and installed all of the software including the extra document handling software that seemed to be quite useful and included pdf software. The MFCJ1205W holds a lot of paper in the slide out paper tray. I do not know if it is 250 sheets but it seemed like at least 150 maybe 200. More than twice as much as the old printer it replaced. It also has easy-to-access ink tanks on the right front of the printer. You just open up a door and there is a separate compartment for just the ink rather than having to open up half the printer to replace cartridges like other inkjet printers I have had. I really loved the ease of access and simplicity involved with changing ink tanks. Another feature I liked was the hideaway USB cord connection on the side under the scanner lid. Additionally, I noticed is that for a compact all-in-one printer the Brother MFCJ1205W has some weight to it and feels like it is very well built and sturdy. For anyone looking for a simple 3in1 printer without a document feeder or fax capability, this is actually the best one I have come across and the fact that you can get it for $99.00 and it is an INKvestment printer with large capacity ink tanks available makes it a great deal to me. I would not hesitate to recommend it!Androidaholic
