I preface my review with the comment that I may have had really bad luck. When I got my Neobike it was awesome, looked well made, sturdy assembly was easy but a bit strenuous for someone who is out of shape, to put togther. I rode it for about 4 months and started noticing slippage on uphills. Finally, I did an uphill and it got to the point of not being rideable anymore so I called support, email was terrible, they never responded but phone was great and they sent out a new belt, with a free belt tension tool ($100 if you bought it). So about 3 months later I start feeling the slip again, again I call them and I am told that they have an issue with some of the bikes. I could put a deposit on a replacement while I send mine in ($1500) so I did that. The bike I got was a used one and did not work from the onset, the flywheel would just start spinning whether I was going uphill or down then it would overheat in about 5 min. So I kept mine and sent the replacement back. They refunded the deposit then I had to do another deposit for another replacement. Again I get a used bike and this time it works so I start using that, after a month I ask how the bike that I sent in is doing and I was told that the way it works is I keep the used bike and we are done. I did not like that but if it works then fine. After a couple of months I start to get disconnects from the bike to the training computer over Bluetooth, it was weird as it would be fine when I started then after 5 miles it would start to disconnect to the point where it stopped connecting altogether. As I tested multiple computers, different OS's, disabled any wireless tech near the bike it just got worse and worse. So I call up Tech support and after a month of waiting for the engineers to get back to me I finally just asked for my money back, which they gave me. To be honest, when the bike worked, it was well worth the money, when it did not the tech support was good and bad but each time it would take about 1 month to get a replacement, about another month to work on troubleshooting with support so in the end, for the year that I had it I got to use it for about 6 months. I still think, maybe if I would have got one more replacement I would have got the good one, the one that did not break in some way or another because I loved the bike itself. I will hand it to Garmin, I bought the bike from Zwift and they still sent me a full refund check, and when I talked to their Tech support they were great so I really hope I just got a lot of bad luck as I still miss doing some of my rides on TACX and even considered using the refund check to buy a brand new one.Brett L.
This is a great trainer. It does everything that I would expect from a trainer in this price range. Setup was easy, but requires two people to install the legs, as the center section is very heavy. Some other reviewers claim the center top section rubs on their thighs, but I don't have this problem. I really appreciate the tablet holder and tray in front of the handle bars. The first time I used the trainer, I noticed a very slight clunking feel while pedaling. It turns out the left crankarm pinch bolt needed to be tightened. The bike has been smooth pedaling since. The only minor issue that I have with the bike is that the seat height adjusting handle is too long and hits the top rear section of the bike when trying to rotate the handle 360 degrees. I may shorten the handle (cut about an inch off the end) so that it can rotate freely. With all the different cycling apps available for this bike, I look now look forward to riding inside!Philip D.
Combined with road feel, it really replicates my outdoor rides when I use the Tacx software and films. Zwift cobblestones are a killer and the smooth tarmac bliss. I love the road feel and getting to as near as possible a real ride indoors. For serious training, the responsiveness is super. Much better than a couple other smart trainers I have (my kid use them now). It also lovely and quiet! I pondered buying this as the cost was pretty high, but now see its a worthwhile investment – even managed to convince two friends to get it (when I say I did, I mean the 'trainer' convinced them!)Baron Z.

This bike is one of the best investments we've made. It performs flawlessly and there is plenty of versatility whereas we no longer need a gym membership. The price point was perfect the membership price is certainly worth it. Therefore, I would highly recommend this piece of equipment in your gym. However, we bought Echelon shoes and just over 30 days later my Velcro broke. Since it was after 30 days later I could not return them. We had other dealings with customer service in the months just after buying the bike. The customer service leaves much to be desired as far as buying accessories from the company. They are a third-party and getting a hold of the corporate seems to be near impossible. I still gave the five star review simply because the equipment is outstanding. Just don't buy accessories from their store if you need to return them it is quite a process.
I absolutely LOVE this bike and the community that rides it. I bought my bike (Costco 4S) in February 2021 and today, (11/15/2022) I completed my 1000th workout. I have over 800 rides and almost 200 Fitpass classes completed. The variety of classes makes it possible for me to ride either a live or on-demand ride every day, whether I feel like riding 75 minutes or want to take it easy with a 20 minute low impact ride. The instructors are exceptional. While I have never met any of them personally, they project warmth and compassion, and make me, the rider feel like I am important to them. The feeling I get from them is that this is more than just a job, it is really their passion and they care about us, their riders. The variety of Facebook groups specific to Echelon are numerous and there is something for everyone. When I had an issue with the attached tablet not allowing me to log in, I sent a Facebook message to Echelon and within 5 minutes I had a message back with instructions how to reset the tablet. Ok people this is not a shirt you can stuff back in the bag and return to QVC. The thing took my husband 2 hours to put together and it weighs a ton. So here are the details to assist. Full disclosure I'm a 5'4 fat lady (working on changing the fat part, hence the bike.) So I had been using the x-bike and wanted to level up for a sturdy bike that I could do standing cycle jogging out of the saddle. I'd been using the fancy bike app with my x-bike so and didn't want to spend the extra on a bike with the attached monitor. Like I need another screen in my house??? I like using the bike with my Ipad so I can take any class, you tube, peloton app or just netflix and spin so this seemed to be the ticket. Ok so here's the downfalls: 1- THE SEAT IS A TORTURE DEVICE- this was just not doable for me or my 14 year old son who validated my concern. So no problem, did some research and ordered a new bike seat on amazon, spent an hour or so learning how to change on youtube now comfy seat- check. 2- Configuration IS A SQUEEZE- ok so if you move the HANDLEBARS up they also move outwards from the body, assuming that all riders are super tall that want high handles, they say to raise them high if you are pregnant have back pain or are a beginner, so you better be tall too. Of course, you can move the seat forward to match but then wait my knees are in a funny position, and oh how do I get off this thing? The brake is right on my who-ha while I try to shimee out of this thing. So now I just find myself riding too far up and back to avoid knee pain or who-ha dismount, so feel like I'm bracing for dear life to get to those handle bars way forward. 3. The setting to move up the seat are not very clear and make it difficult to find the right spot again if someone else uses the bike. Wind-up! So with all this you wonder why I still have it. Well, it's a nice bike, I spent about $1000 bucks time and energy getting it set up, and I'm assuming that as I get thin these issues will subside. Having had the Kickr Bike for a month now, I'm probably in a better position to write down a few things about my experiences with it. Firstly, the fit is brilliant – after using the app to set up the bike using a photo of my own, it was nearly – but not quite – there, so I ended up with a tape measure to get the reach just right. This only took a minute or two, so over all, the app works really well in sorting the fit. Gears: I wish my road bike had these gears! Never known anything so smooth/ so easy to change, and there's also the option for more technically-minded people to set their own ratios and group sets. Only downside I can see is that when I go back out on the road bike once our winter is over, I'll be wondering why I can't just shift from those dangerous cross-over points. I love the gears. The experience of using the bike actually takes a bit of getting used to, as there is definitely a bit of 'give' when you're pedalling with any great force. This probably makes the Kickr feel more like a 'real' road bike, but it did take me a while to get used to and to accept that it wasn't about to break! Build is seriously good, and good looking. It's certainly raised a few eyebrows when I've proudly shown it off to anyone. I've found that long rides on Zwift are just better/ more comfortable, and that's probably because the pedalling action is so smooth, gearing works so well, and I know there's no risk of my chain accidentally falling off the small ring when I've frantically dropped it down mid-climb. It's still early days, but I'm using the Kickr almost daily, because I miss it if I don't, and that's a good thing.Karen S.
I love the whole bike form. Previously i had my previous race bike on my kicker. I always felt a bit precious. Straight out the box very easy set up. Rode pretty much straight away. I had a guru fit to tranfer numbers over but didnt really correspond as bike was then way out of proportion so i measured my road set up instead and after 4 to 5 months and tweaking i have a sweet set up. As with most bike shops they wouldnt swap saddle. I do find this annoying as female couldn't ride on supplied one from wahoo. I have changed tape too as quality ok but not nice feel. Wahoo maybe option changes in the future! The gearing i matched to my present bike and run on zwift although do run wahoo occasionally for firmware updates. I recently have steering which as im 62 kg i can get past larger people and not use excessive watts. Sigma as usual was great,bike sells itself but were vere helpful at the Oakham branch. Hopefully this helps as its a big outlay but worth saving your bikes extra running costs when on the turbo.Lisa jane
I had saved up to buy a new road bike, but as the winter approached and the days became shorter and colder, I decided that buying a new road bike in November would be pretty pointless, as I wouldn't really get the benefit of it till next Spring. So, I decided to buy this Wahoo KICKR bike and get some serious indoor training done over the winter instead. The bike is SOLID. It weighs about 60Kg. Extremely well packaged (arrived on a pallet). You will need 2 people to get this huge box to wherever you are setting the KICKR up. Once set up, I updated the firmware and got the bike adjusted to approximately the same dimensions as my road bike and hooked it up to Zwift. The ride is amazingly smooth. Gear changing is sheer bliss and instantaneous compared to grinding my drivetrain on my road bike. The virtual gears are superb. You can select any combination of cassettes and chainrings that you want. I have it set up as Shimano Di2 with an 11-34T cassette in the rear. Brilliant. The tilt function is brilliant as well. It really adds an extra layer of realism to the Zwift experience, especially on rolling roads like Titans Grove. There are a few issues though… Issue 1: My main complaint about this bike is that even though its pretty quiet in general, it makes a terrible whining noise whenever I hit 75rpm cadence. I checked the web and most people seem to have the same. I contacted Wahoo support and they confirmed that this noise is "normal" and that if they sent me a replacement bike it would sound exactly the same. Just mentioning this to anyone seriously thinking on buying this KICKR bike. I've sort of got used to it now and I don't get it very often as my normal cadence is higher at about 80-85. Issue 2: The saddle that comes fitted is.. so-so. I find it fine for rides up to about the hour mark, but anything longer than that and my bottom gets pretty sore. My Specialized Body Geometry saddle that I have on my road bike is far more comfortable. Santa is now bringing me another Specialized Body Geometry saddle (from Sigma Sports) to swap the stock Wahoo out. This should sort out that issue. Issue 3: The handlebars are fine in general. They just don't feel as good as the bars on my road bike. They are narrower in diameter and I think the tape is cheaper than the tape on my road bike, so they just feel not as good. Wahoo could improve these at the price they are charging for the bike. This may be a project for me next year when I am due to change the tape anyway. I have allocated 4 stars as a rating , even though I LOVE this bike. I do seriously think that Wahoo could improve the thing by sorting out the whining noise and fitting it with better saddle and nicer handlebarsCMC

It's not the sexiest trainer out there, but its functionality is terrific. Below are my thoughts. Positives: 1. This bike is rock solid. I have never felt uncomfortable when sprinting; it barely moves. 2. I like that it has both the Ipad holder and Iphone holder. I plug in both devices and have my iPhone display the gear ratio of the bike. 3. Gear ratios: you can simulate just about any gear ratio, and it's great. I matched mine to my road bike and have improved my performance noticeably. 4. Stages Iphone App: okay, but not great. It does the job. I had problems setting mine up but IT was responsive. Reset the power meters before every ride and display the "gears" to get the best experience. 5. Connecting the bike to Rouvy is simple and works immediately, every time. Some mild complaints: 1. The saddle clamp has to be tightened as tight as possible for it to not rotate forward or back. I tightened at first to the torque listed in the instructions and stripped the very poor friction plate. Now I clamp it down as tight as possible and it works fine. 2. The gear-shift button locations aren't perfect. The buttons on the drops are awkwardly placed and without unwrapping the entire handlebar, you can't move them. The hood buttons are well-placed, but lack the tactile feel of the drop buttons. I got used to it soon enough, but would have liked this to be designed better. 3. The bottom bracket is wider than my road bike. I'm a narrow person, so this is probably a bigger deal for me than others, but it means I can't fully get my pedal position right between indoor and outdoor bikes. 4. Switching the handlebars from the high clamp to the low clamp is tedious. There had to be a better way to design it. That being said, once you get the fit dialed in, it's great. 5. The water bottle holders are just fine. I would have loved a place to put a power bar or two. With how big this bike is, having another place to put something would be welcomed. 6. Changing pedals is unnecessarily difficult due to the tight space between the frame and cranks. Do not lose the allen wrench that comes with the bike; you will need it and no, I can't find any other allen wrench that works.Chad G
The good and the bad: I love the platform for my phone and my iPad with charging available. The bike is very solid and easy to adjust. Pedaling is smooth and sort of road-like. The custom gearing is nice to have. The customer service/tech support people are excellent. They address concerns rapidly and work with you until the problem is solved. Unfortunately, in the 8 months I have owned this smart bike, I have had several opportunities to work with the dedicated tech support person when the bike is not working. I had problems with the cockpit, and he sent me a replacement for me to reinstall. I had a problem with the power assembly that took three weeks to solve over the phone and via email while having parts sent that I had to learn how to install. I've had problems every couple of months that occur for no apparent reason. I have been able to solve these problems on my own but I ended up missing workouts while I take the time to troubleshoot. I'm comparing the SB20 to a Wahoo Kickr, but there is absolutely no power smoothing. In ERG mode, if you try very hard to maintain exact cadence, it helps to smooth power readings, but it's still hard to stay in power ranges. The power readings vary widely. Like the Kickr, you need to use level mode for workouts with short sprints, but the Stages Bike requires level mode with 30 second sprints and surges because it takes 15-20 seconds to get to the power window. High cadence intervals are a challenge. If you don't maintain the high cadence after the interval and drop your cadence slowly (while your legs are trashed), the power will drop abruptly and then surge past your FTP power. It's less painful to drop cadence slowly. Maybe that has a good training effect, but it feels like you have to work to accommodate the power functions on this bike. Unless you have the Stages app open (I don't because I'm using SYSTM), there is no audible or haptic feedback when changing gears in level mode. I purchased this bike around the holidays because it was on sale for $2200, but would I do it again or would I shell out the extra money for the Neo or Kickr bike? I think I would spend the extra money to have a reliable indoor setup. Anyone want to buy a used SB20?Bradley P
The good: this is a nice build of bike hardware. It is solid, and you can really push on it. Plenty of adjustments. The bad: Stages has no business being anywhere near software. Even though you can theoretically set it up to have 50 gears, on Zwift it functionally has only two: 1) too easy and 2) impossible. Any other shift to any other gear makes no functional difference. So I bought this bike thinking it might make Zwift rides more realistic – that it would adjust to the conditions. It does…. like the bare minimum. Downhills are slightly easier. Uphills are slightly harder. I'm a software nerd by nature, so I have literally worked through every setting methodically, and I can't find anything that approaches a natural feeling. When you are climbing a hill, again, it's either way too easy of a gear with a high cadence, or you shift up and you almost have to stand to push the pedal down. Also, connecting EVERY SINGLE TIME on the start up Zwift screen is a debacle. I have to connect it incorrectly to the whole bike for the Power Source so it picks up the Controllable portion, then disconnect the whole bike and reconnect the power source just to one of the pedals per the "correct" Zwift settings. Maybe this is Zwift's fault – I don't know. I just know it's a horrible experience and no one is helping…. Case in point, their support department literally took months to respond to me, then closed the ticket on me when I didn't respond in a few days. No one answers the phone. I have used my NordicTrack S22i Studio Cycle for over a week now, and I am very pleased with it's functionality and the iFIT app. I assembled the bike myself, which took me about an hour, and found the instructions to be thorough and easy to follow. I did run into some initial software issues, and ultimately had to call NordicTrack customer support. The person who helped me was very knowledgeable, and he insisted on remaining on the phone call with me until all of the updates were installed and the bike and software were functioning correctly. Before deciding which brand (NordicTrack vs. Pelaton), and which model I wanted, I scoured through many reviews to come to my decision. I came to the conclusion that, due to the amount of technology associated with these bikes, things can go wrong with any brand and any model. Knowing this, I also knew that I wanted an extended warranty from a reputable company who would back the warranty. Once I had determined specifically which bike I wanted, I shopped it between NordicTrack direct, Best Buy and RC Willey. All of them offered it for the same price, so then I narrowed it down to the warranty. I read reviews on the warranty provided through NordicTrack, and quickly removed them from my list. I don't have any prior experience with Best Buy's Geek Squad, but I have had a very positive experience with RC Willey's extended warranty with a $3,000 refrigerator I purchased through them. Price wise on the 5-year extended warranties, RC Willey is considerably less expensive than the other two and, if you don't use the warranty, they will give you 50% of the price of the warranty back – if you request it just prior to the warranty expiring. BONUS! On top of all of this, NordicTrack and Best Buy were both 2+ weeks to actually receive the bike after purchasing it. With RC Willey, I was able to pick it up the day after purchasing it. I bought this bike to advance my fitness journey. I spent 2.5 hours putting it together. The first bike’s screen was defective and would only stay on 2 minutes max. After troubleshooting with technicians, i was going to need to replace parts. Thats a big no from me… its a new bike. I then requested a replacement bike. Spent about the same amount of time, but was able to sign up for ifit and begin the first wokrout. As soon as it increased resistance the magnetic resistance system would rub against the wheel and spark. I troubleshooted this one as well and found that either magnetic resistance system or some bolts were defective. I am returning the second bike and requesting a refund immediately.Cburge

I preface my review with the comment that I may have had really bad luck. When I got my Neobike it was awesome, looked well made, sturdy assembly was easy but a bit strenuous for someone who is out of shape, to put togther. I rode it for about 4 months and started noticing slippage on uphills. Finally, I did an uphill and it got to the point of not being rideable anymore so I called support, email was terrible, they never responded but phone was great and they sent out a new belt, with a free belt tension tool ($100 if you bought it). So about 3 months later I start feeling the slip again, again I call them and I am told that they have an issue with some of the bikes. I could put a deposit on a replacement while I send mine in ($1500) so I did that. The bike I got was a used one and did not work from the onset, the flywheel would just start spinning whether I was going uphill or down then it would overheat in about 5 min. So I kept mine and sent the replacement back. They refunded the deposit then I had to do another deposit for another replacement. Again I get a used bike and this time it works so I start using that, after a month I ask how the bike that I sent in is doing and I was told that the way it works is I keep the used bike and we are done. I did not like that but if it works then fine. After a couple of months I start to get disconnects from the bike to the training computer over Bluetooth, it was weird as it would be fine when I started then after 5 miles it would start to disconnect to the point where it stopped connecting altogether. As I tested multiple computers, different OS's, disabled any wireless tech near the bike it just got worse and worse. So I call up Tech support and after a month of waiting for the engineers to get back to me I finally just asked for my money back, which they gave me. To be honest, when the bike worked, it was well worth the money, when it did not the tech support was good and bad but each time it would take about 1 month to get a replacement, about another month to work on troubleshooting with support so in the end, for the year that I had it I got to use it for about 6 months. I still think, maybe if I would have got one more replacement I would have got the good one, the one that did not break in some way or another because I loved the bike itself. I will hand it to Garmin, I bought the bike from Zwift and they still sent me a full refund check, and when I talked to their Tech support they were great so I really hope I just got a lot of bad luck as I still miss doing some of my rides on TACX and even considered using the refund check to buy a brand new one.Brett L.
This is a great trainer. It does everything that I would expect from a trainer in this price range. Setup was easy, but requires two people to install the legs, as the center section is very heavy. Some other reviewers claim the center top section rubs on their thighs, but I don't have this problem. I really appreciate the tablet holder and tray in front of the handle bars. The first time I used the trainer, I noticed a very slight clunking feel while pedaling. It turns out the left crankarm pinch bolt needed to be tightened. The bike has been smooth pedaling since. The only minor issue that I have with the bike is that the seat height adjusting handle is too long and hits the top rear section of the bike when trying to rotate the handle 360 degrees. I may shorten the handle (cut about an inch off the end) so that it can rotate freely. With all the different cycling apps available for this bike, I look now look forward to riding inside!Philip D.
Combined with road feel, it really replicates my outdoor rides when I use the Tacx software and films. Zwift cobblestones are a killer and the smooth tarmac bliss. I love the road feel and getting to as near as possible a real ride indoors. For serious training, the responsiveness is super. Much better than a couple other smart trainers I have (my kid use them now). It also lovely and quiet! Everyone was so right about this bike! I am so impressed with how nice this bike is. The material that was used is heavy duty! It took about 30 minutes to put it all together and for me to experience my first ride! This bike is so smooth and so quite! It's extremely sturdy. I decided to purchase this bike after an exhaustive searching and researching spin bikes. After a hiatus from fitness, I remember very well what a quality bike should look like. The 1805 met every checkbox I had and the price was great. It's sturdy, has all the functionality I wanted, and combined with an HR monitor, cadence monitor, and Peloton App I can get an exceptional cardio workout right from my own home! Another bike I considered where the L1 Spinner. I wanted durable, low maintenance, and a no-frills experience. Something reminiscent of the various gym spin bikes of the past. I just assembled and used my bike so this is an initial assessment. 1. Delivery was fast! 2. Packaging was exceptional. 3. Assembly instructions were very clear. There are very few steps so the process is easy. All parts went together easily (I.e. no misaligned holes, etc). 4. The seat was surprisingly comfortable. 5. I got a great workout with only three turns of the resistance knob. (Each turn moves the knob halfway around. The knob can be turned 16 times, so 8 full rotations.) 6. The handlebar isn’t padded. Some may like this but I had to use a towel. I might add padding. 7. Build-quality seems very high. As the title says, I definitely would recommend this bike.BK

It took 3 days to ship from Walmart (was told it'd take 2 – but it's the holiday season during a pandemic, delays will happen) and it arrived in great condition. Assembly was fairly painless (took roughly 30 – 45 minutes with the "help" from a toddler – could've gone quicker without the help most likely). All required tools were packaged with the parts. Upon completion of assembly, I downloaded the Echelon Fit application and began the process of connecting / registering. The description / title of the item stated that it would come with a "6-month free membership ($120 value)" but when I created my account it only gave the option for a 1 month trial. The app registration was clunky and it seemed like you were unable to actually do it from within the mobile application (it had to be done via the web). In order to get the "free 6-month membership" I ended up having to reach out to Echelon support twice and provide them proof of purchase. The bike itself appears very solid. Peddling makes no / minimal noise and the resistance knob moves as one would expect. The seat is uncomfortable (at least to someone who doesn't normally cycle), so I would recommend buying a gel cushion or a different seat to replace it. Once connected to the app, the metrics appear to show up well. The app really could use some serious work on Android (I did not test it on an Apple device), but it's functional… mostly. All in all, it seems to be a very solid bike at $500. Had I paid more, I might be disappointed but it fits my requirements (which were being able to see resistance / cadence metrics, sturdy / durable bike that will last, and affordable).Justin
I am a regular runner, average around 20 miles a week and generally work up to around 40 a week when training for a half marathon. I bought this to incorporate cross training and replace the easy miles while keeping the quality runs. So I am new to spinning, not new to fitness and cardio. After 3 rides, I am impressed. Like many others, I find the seat uncomfortable while riding, but I am pretty certain that is just because I have not regularly ridden a bike in several years, so I need to get used to it. If I remember right, I had the same issue adjusting back when I did ride. So, you can buy a different seat, but you probably just need to adjust. I have no issues with the pedals, I know some people prefer clips and replace these pedals that come with cages, but they are just fine for me. The app is pretty easy to use, and the 6 month free access to on demand classes feels like a great deal. I have not done a class because I am following a structured plan and own a heart rate monitor, but Ive heard good thing from my brother-in-law who recommended this bike while I was researching options. I was a little concerned about the 32 levels of resistance compared to Pelotons 100 levels, but I find myself riding between resistance levels 15 to 22 to hit my target heart rate. I feel like I am long way from needed a level 32 resistance.Jason

On the downside; I did not find the seat comfortable – I have a lean build with narrow sit bones and I sink into the seat so much it squeezes my man-parts. The pedals require two hands to adjust. I am used to exercise bikes at the gym where I can sit down and reach over with one hand to pull the adjusting strap tight. The water bottle holder doesn't easily accommodate a larger bottle. The written instructions about signing up for the app are incorrect. And, Echelon make it hard to simply establish an account for free (freestyle rides) without paying for a subscription. The small wheels used to move the bike are made from a very hard plastic and have a narrow profile so when moving the bike it left small indentations in my red oak hardwood floor. Fortunately the bike accommodates a standard wheel used on many inline skates, skateboards, etc. So, I swiped a couple of soft wheels with a wide profile form my kids roller blades and that solved that problem. Lastly, if you are a taller rider be cautious. I am 6 feet tall with a slightly longer than normal inseam and I adjust the bike seat to position 14 or 15. There are 16 positions. Each position is about 9/16 of an inch. And, if I could add one item to my wishlist it would be more adjustability on the handlebars; a bit more height and a forward-and-back adjustment would be nice. In summary, the bike is good and I do recommend it, but it does require some tweaks.Thomas

I really like the bike a lot. It could be perfect with a few changes… The seat adjustment should allow two inches more forward movement. The handle bar should have three inches more rearward adjustment and three inches more height adjustment. The fly wheel drag adjustment is really really imprecise. You never know how many clicks it will take to get a resistance increase. Some times 2 clicks gets you 0 increase/decrease…. some times 1 click gets you two degrees of increase/decrease. Water bottle is difficult to get to. Instructions for the console are horrible! I mean really really really bad. No excuse for this. This is a cheap and easy fix. Also, A movie should be made on using the console like you produced for putting the bike together. Then put a large red sheet of paper In the packaging advising the buyer to view the videos before assembling and using the bike. I am 6’5”, so some of my suggestions are specific to us tall folks, but If you made these changes you could effectively market to tall users and “ own” that user group.David
The bike itself is solid and well built. Very good quality and quiet operation. The reason for only three stars is because of the console. I find it unusable. First of all there is no light. Second, it has batteries but you must be pedaling to program it. There are no videos to explain how it operates. I emailed DBF and they sent me “enhanced” instructions. Virtually incomprehensible. I love my 1260sc. Compact, smooth and sexy looking. Probably fits better in a gym than your home gym but I like it like that. Looks like a spaceship and a futuristic tank. And that is part of its appeal. Stable as heck! Handle pads are thick and don't wobble. Did I say it's solid like an oak tree? Seat is a bit uncomfortable BUT all bike seats get replaced eventually anyway – trust me it's a very personal choice. Would've loved to have a slightly heavier flywheel (comes with 35 lbs instead of 40 or 45 lbs) but it's not because it lacks resistance. Bluetootch console is awesome! Let's you hook up to all of your electronics, TVs, headset and all the cycling apps and programs. Would be nice to have pulse grips or a bluetooth heart rate monitor but it has a WATTage indicator electronically hooked up to the bike already which NO OTHER BIKE has in this price range. It let's you know how hard you are TRULY pedalling and this is actually the feature what made me decide to eventually purchase it out of all the others in the market. The Sole SB900 is a good bike, but not for me. My bad. Due to Covid, I read reviews and bought this bike without trying it out, and it has some drawbacks that for me are major. On the positive side, it is a very solid bike and rides smoothly and quietly. The seat is very comfortable, and seat and handlebars adjust up and down, and back and forth, which to me is a requirement. The first drawback. It has a 40 lb flywheel. I didn't really understand what that meant before I road it – now I do. It means that the flywheel is so heavy and even with no tension, I cannot really bike as quickly as I would like. I am used to a spin class workout, and this is what I was going for. I know that Sole does not offer on line classes, but I am using the Peleton app so I didn't think there would be a problem. I miss my warm-ups cycling 100+ RPMs with minimal tension. Drawback number 2. The consol does not measure tension, only RPMs and thus, it can only tell your RMP, speed and distance – the second two are merely a function of RPM garnered from revolutions of the flywheel. As a result, it cannout measure output or Watts (how hard you are working). The watts displayed are only another way of displaying RPM, thus, per the console, you are exerting the same amount of energy cycling at 70 RPM whether you have 20% tension or 100% tension. Similarly, I spent an hour on the phone setting up my personal parameters – female, weight, age. A total waste of time, because the consol will display the same calories irrespective of your effort, based only on your RPM. I am quite annoyed that none of the many reviews I read pointed this out. In fact, the pointed out the negative of competitors only providing a console per their tablet and subscription service. It was easy to put together. The bike is very quiet. I have tried a few programmed rides. The hill starts out way too easy (I think the resistance was on 1 or 2), then switches to something (like 29), which was like riding a one speed bike up a mountain. Who rides a bike like that? I tried the HR programs and they started out too easy, try to change the level and it raises your target heart rate. Eventually it gets around to raising the resistance based on your target heart rate. I prefer to start out with the cardio program (which is separate from the HR) it keeps my age and weight( so I don't have to enter all of this every time) and itt allows me to adjust the resistance manually. Then I saved this to custom. The custom will store your program, but apparently only one program for one user. It would be better if you could have at least two separate users, like most other machines these days. I tried the sole app on my phone, but I wasn't impressed by it. I have been saving my progress in the polar beat app, which also tracks my progress on my rower, treadmill and bowflex trainer. I wore out the drive mechanism in my last bike which was a Nordic track lcb( Nordic track quit making the drive bearing, so I was unable to fix it.) So I'm hoping this one from Sole lasts forever.The seat goes high enough for me (I'm 78 inches tall and still fits my wife who is 63 Inches tall.)GentleOpossum-47583
This is my first spin bike. After doing research, this was the bike that had all the features and qualities I was looking for. I did not want connectivity to classes; I just wanted a meter to register my speed, heart rate, time, distance, etc. The digital display has large numbers, but no backlight that constantly stays on throughout the workout. The seat is comfortable. It rides smoothly and quietly. It's a very solidly built bike. I wish the handlebars were a little more padded. I shift my hands around on the bars to avoid painful pressing on the same spot on my hands. I wanted the option to switch to clip-on shoes, but I'm finding the toe cage option to be just fine. I preferred magnetic resistance for less maintenance which this bike has. If multiple people are using the bike, it might be difficult to reset your personal resistance level in the same place. You have to go by feel of the resistance as you spin as opposed to setting it at a specified number. I'm the only one who uses my bike, so this type of resistance knob setting works for me. We looked at the different stationary bikes for some time before ultimately going with this one. I wasn't worried with 'riding w/others' & didn't find a reason to have the specific shoes especially since it's 2 of us. It's quiet & the dial for resistance is smooth. Handlebars are positioned well comfortable. Seat could be a little cushier, there's a possibility to replace that part. Also, no need for a monthly subscription, which apparently you need for others to work. Overall, I am very happy with this bike & would recommend for those who are self motivated & can either watch regular tele or pull up a workout on Amazon Prime. For me, I just couldn't find the need to spend twice as much to be in the 'in crowd' riding what everyone else is, but that's how I roll! This is an awesome bike!! It was easy to set up (I did it by myself; 57 y.o. female), silent operation (great for apartment dwellers), very well made, and exceptionally sturdy, the wheels and the somewhat compact design make it easy to store away, the electronics are user friendly. I ordered the comfort seat because I don't have much padding on my bum. I wear a chest strap and, the armband monitor that's included works very well. Being able to charge your phone while riding is an unexpected bonus! I love the SPD clips on the pedals with the option to use the basket! I cannot think of any negatives…really! The JRNY membership is a nice bonus. I open it on my phone and mirror the screen to my TV. No need for a tablet! If you do some research, you will find that most of the screens that come with spin bikes are not very good and don't last long. When I am doing the virtual journeys, you can actually feel the bumps in the road…crazy fun! The 3 lb dumbbells are another nice bonus! I honestly, couldn't be happier. I bought this bike from Dick's about six months ago. I use it almost every day and am quite happy with it after a few additions and modifications. First, the few negatives: I modified the water bottle holder so that it is more forward to avoid hitting the bottle when standing. I swapped the pedals that came with the bike for SPD pedals which work with my mountain bike shoes. I didn't find the JRNY app to be useful. The bike display is OK except for the cadence/RPM display. I have no idea why they use that bar rather than displaying a number. I use zwift and the bike pairs with zwift nicely and displays cadence in the zwift app along with heart rate and power. I'm not certain how the bike reports power and there's some evidence that it overstates power. I don't race on zwift and only do workouts and group rides so I'm not really too concerned about having accurate power numbers. Here are the good points: The bike is very stable and comfortable. It has lots of adjustability to fit the rider. The saddle is remarkably good for a stationary bike. The magnetic resistance is great and very responsive. The bike is absolutely silent and very smooth. The bike is a very good value for the price. It's not quite a full smart bike because it doesn't adjust resistance automatically based on changes in terrain when using an app like zwift. I don't downgrade it for that because it doesn't claim to do that. I knocked off 1 star based on the water bottle holder position and the cadence display. (I would rate it 4.5 if I had that option). This bike is made by NordikTrack and is branded as Schwinn IC4 and an almost identical Bowflex C7 which only slightly differs cosmetically. NordikTrack could easily fix those two issues. Several users reported problems with the pedals included with the bike. I didn't use them as I swapped them for the SPD when I first started using the bike.man with dog

I'd been using a basic wheel on turbo for years and was thinking about an upgrade for some time. This one ticks all the boxes and hasn't disappointed. Easy to set up and assemble straight out of the box, built really well, pretty accurate power, easy to calibrate and easy to pair with virtual training software (like Zwift). In use, it feels much closer to real riding than cheaper products do and you really feel you are getting a workout. It replicates gradients up to 20% really well and the speed and cadence sensor are reasonable. For me, the only areas it falls down on are the integrating app, which is a bit confusing and clunky (you need to app to calibrate the machine) and price; other similar products are £100 or so cheaper. It would also be nice to see a cassette included at this price. On the whole I would recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a mid-high end turbo.JMarsh90
The service from Pushys was excellent as usual. The trainer, however, left me disappointed. For context, I have purchased the Direto XR to ride and train on the Zwift platform. I'm a seasoned cyclist & I intended to use the trainer for power-based training to improve my fitness and performance following a short break. I have updated the firmware using Upgrado app to latest version with no issues. The trainer is quick to setup, Zwift recognises the sensors for power and cadence immediately The riding in the basic Ride mode is impressive and immersive, the trainer responds quickly to changes of gradients and the whole experience is very good. The problem with Direto XR appears in the Training (ERG) mode. The training programs are based on intervals where Zwift expects the cyclist to reach and sustain specific power thresholds within a small tolerance. Unfortunately, the power readings being sent from Direto to Zwift are erratic and oscillate wildly by +-20W despite pedaling with stable cadence and effort. I have tried to change multiple settings in both Direto's my etraining app and Zwift however the result is the same. A quick search on the Elite forums (which you cannot access unless you are an owner of the trainer) discovers that this is a common issue with this specific trainer. There are more than 200 messages with no clear resolution. The Elite support usually explains this behaviour by the extreme accuracy of the trainer. That very well may be the case, however it makes the trainer unusable in the Zwift training mode. You will fail the training and the whole experience is extremely frustrating. The trainer can be enjoyable exploring the virtual world of Watopia, however is not suitable for the ERG based training in Zwift.Marek P.
I bought this 5 week s ago, great trainer. Works brilliantly with Zwift app. Great at replicating hills up and down. I find it works best with tablet rather than laptop, as can sometimes not connect up straight away to laptop, but that could be the laptop at fault. It doesn't seem as good with other apps which use ERG mode. ( Interval training) such as Wahoo app. Folds up and takes up little room. Since buying this, I have seen the later Direto XR available for £546, I paid £494 for X model, and would say If you look around and can get the XR for a good price, then buy it. As it works better in ERG mode is more future proof, XR is compatible with Elite Rizer. But this is more than enough for most people. Warning using it on Zwift is addictive.Fudge2009

Bought this a year ago and have used it over the winter months. The trainer is great, provides constant and even resistance. I would HIGHLY recommend a trainer specific tire, as anything with a tread will be noisy. The included Saris Speed Sensor is awful and I ended up purchasing a different one to provide the feedback I wanted.SteveL
The trainer works easy enough setting up/connecting to your bike, however the cadence/speed sensor was confusing as not all apps work with both speed and cadence. This was unclear and took a long time to figure out via the email support team. There are no calls being accepted with customer support nor the store, so it took me hours of research and days to finally get up and running once I figured out how the sensor worked differently. The fluid squared must be recently new because the app support teams did not know what it was/it was not an option on the biking apps. It does work with Peloton, which is great! Overall Im satisfied, but wonder if I couldnt have achieved the same end result for cheaper.GabC
This is a great trainer. It is made in the USA and the build quality is outstanding. Add to that, the unit is designed to be easy to assemble and simple to use. Clamping the bike in to the unit is a simple one motion process and the bike is firmly held. The wheel tension knob is genius! Just turn it until it clicks and you have the correct pressure on your tire. I have owned other fluid trainers, but this has to be the smoothest and most consistent I have ever used. It truly provides linear resistance that gets more challenging as your speed increases. I have not tried it with the Saris training tire yet, but the noise level with a standard road tire was minimal. The included speed sensor works well and paired immediately with the Rouvy app on my iPhone. I did have some issues mounting the sensor because the inside width of my rear hub is pretty narrow. I've had this for six weeks now and am thoroughly enjoying it whilst still getting to learn how to use it. I did a lot of reading about the various turbo trainers available and chose the Tacx Flux S as a mid to higher end option. The spec offers 1500 watts resistance and a 10% slope. I felt at aged 61 that would be more than adequate! I set up my Cannondale Synapse on the trainer. The advantage of this was that my bike was already configured for me after a bike fit so was comfortable. Because the Synapse has a 105 group set, I put a 105 cassette on the trainer too to make it directly parallel. The Flux S does not come with a cassette so there was a slight extra cost there, together with an even smaller cost for the tool that enable you add or remove a cassette. Initially I just rode a few power rides to get a feel for the machine.Once I knew I was around for a few weeks, I initiated the 31 days free trial of the Tacx interface. I set up my old 49" LED TV in the garage with an old surround sound Blue Ray player with the plan to plug the laptop in to get an immersive experience of the software. Sadly, the HDMI ports failed on the TV but I can watch DVD movies via a component lead. The Tacx app comes with rides that can be logged as power or slope workouts at no charge. Then there is a fee for the training programmes and the 'movies' which are classic rides from around the world. You watch the ride unfolding (hence the big screen TV!) and the app simulates gradients by adjusting the resistance on the flywheel via Blue Tooth. I've now started the Tacx training programme which will take me through various rides with incremental effort. The programme starts with a measure of Functional Threshold Power (FTP). I think I managed to set my first FTP st too low a level by not quite realising when I was supposed to exert myself maximally. This will be rectified at the next FTP test! Whilst reading about trainers, many reviewers wrote about the need for a fan to keep cool as obviously there is no headwind. Despite it being set up in my garage, and despite very cold weather, I still got very hot and sweated out at least 1kg despite drinking water so I guess a fan is the next expenditure with which to annoy my lovely wife! Finally, how nice to be riding with no worry of SMIDSYs, close passes or any other road misdemeanours that we normally risk on the road. No significant negatives to report. I did find the app slightly clunky initially but I think that was just normal learning. Also, don't forget to hit 'start' for the programmed rides. I was 10 minutes into this mornings 90 minutes before I realised! Final word of thanks to the Sigma team who answered all my questions by email prior to purchase and are providing me with good after sales care too. If you're thinking about it, go for it. I bought this smart trainer as my first leap into smart training during winter and lockdown.. Having read the reviews tacx have got it right. This isn't the most up to day packed with features trainer that you pay Iver a £1k price tag for but something that is easy to set up easy to use and great for me to ride indoors. I hooked it up easy to my garmin and zwift and it worked as described. Living in a remote area I don't have the best Internet but it was sound. The speed lags a little but that hasn't worried me and I think that's more an Internet issue. I can thoroughly recommend this product and Sigma we're absolutely brilliant in every way. I pre ordered as they were out of stock and as soon as they came in one was despatched to me rapidly. A superb service from sigma. Thank you.Sevy
I am really pleased with Tacx FLUX S smart trainer. I was a bit hesitant with this purchase, having read a number of reviews criticizing the inconsistent connectivity from the trainer to display devices. I have not had any connection issues. I use the FLUX S with Zwift through my laptop (MacBook Pro). I connect with an ANT+ dongle, but Bluetooth seems to work, too. I had to get a USB-C adapter for the ANT+ receiver. Everything has worked without issues for my first 5 rides – to include my Garmin cadence sensor and Garmin Heartrate Monitor. I also connect the trainer to my Garmin Edge 530. It works without any issues…but this is where I downgrade this review by a star. For some reason, the data output on my Edge 530 differs from the data from Zwift. The mileage and watts often come in lower on the Garmin than what Zwift shows. I am still sorting through the Garmin documentation and it just may be user error on my part.
