Best Steamer For Tile Floors (2023 Update)

I have many animals and hardwood and tile throughout my home. I have had a Shark and Orek steam mops before and thought they did a decent job. But I am a hardcore Bissell fan when it comes to vacuums because of the massive shedding from the pets not to mention my drooling Mastiffs. I went with this Bissell for the brand and am more than satisfied with my choice. This model, 1940W, does an exceptional job of cleaning both my hardwood and tile floors without streaking or having to go over the saliva enzymes 20x before it lifts. I can really clean my floors easily on the medium setting and did my kitchen, dining room, living room, and hallway which is about 1600sq. feet without having to refill the tank. The scrubbing pad made easy work of getting up any spills or sticky spots, all in one quick motion. This is steamer mop is far better than the other two I had. The cord is plenty long and the scent discs which I didn't think would be a big deal actually are. The whole house smelled wonderful and the scent even wafted upstairs. The large pad surface and swivel head are a huge plus. I highly recommend this product and Bissell in particular.ShoppingSherpa

I bought this when it was deeply discounted to replace my other current options, which were either a bucket/mop with a lil fabuloso or pinesol or getting on my hands and knees with a rag. I already have a Dyson handheld cordless vacuum, so I decided not to get the vacuum steam mop combo version, and just get this lighter steam mop only instead. Just as the Dyson made me not mind vacuuming, I thought that getting the lighter steam mop would do the same for me but for mopping, even though it's corded. I have to say, it does what it says it'll do. It's not as detailed as spending hours in the floor with a hand-rag, or as deep cleaning as soaking the tile floor with a mop-bucket but it's wayyyyy less mess, dries wayyyy faster, it's wayyyy more ergonomic, and more likely that I'll do this more often than the other two methods, which was basically out of desperation once a year. I also really like that the pads are reusable and washable, even if it's kind of a pain to remember to wash them, and don't even mind the cord. It's the perfect length to cover my entire kitchen without unplugging. Glad I held out for this. I'm actually looking forward to having and maintaining somewhat clean floors from now on. #sweepstakesErin

I bought my Dupray Neat Steamer 2 years ago. It’s become one of my favorite cleaning tools for tackling the tough and weird to clean things like the couch and our big area rug. Since my last cleaning, I had an issue with the cap getting stuck despite proper cleaning and air drying after my last use. One of my favorite things Ive ever bought. Its so easy to use. I absolutely love it. I love that I can use my own cloths on it instead of purchasing the expensive pads. It does come with 3. My only complaints are I wish the hose detached and it would be nice if there was a safety switch so I could lock the trigger so my 2 year old cant mess with it. If I need to take a break I have to shut it off and put it up so he cant get it. Then I have to wait for it to heat back up. Other than that its definitely worth the price.Beth

I've been using this steam cleaner for a while now. I used it to completely clean an apartment that I was moving out of and the landlord was impressed with the cleaning job that we did. The carpet was a little trampled down in the high traffic areas and the stream treatment helped to bring it back to its former fluffy self. I am amazed at everything I can clean with the Black & Decker 8 piece Complete Steam Cleaning System. Amazed at how steam can clean! I thought mopping my floors thoroughly cleaned them & the grout lines, nope! Steaming them using the grout tool, & the complete steam steam system, I couldn’t believe the dirt it brought out. Using this is so easy, snap on the grout brush, filling water, plug in & turn it on. Reading which settings is my Only complaint, the manual is printed a little small. From grout to steaming the floor after to finish is simple, power off. Take off grout brush and snap on the mop. It really doesn’t get easier! I found using this also so comforting, the sound of the steam, how smooth and easy the mop glides on my floor. So much better then mopping! My glass shower doors look amazing using the squeegee. This is my 2nd steam product ive used in my home. I have a larger steam mop that works great. I was a bit skeptical at first since this one is smaller compared to its cousin. The different connections is very smart to include because we have used this in our showers and walls in the bathroom to help speed up the process to cleaning. When i used the steam mop i used half water and half pinesol and havent had a issue with the compartment getting damaged. I took before and after shots and youll be surprised as to how a regular mop doesnt do the job. You may smell clean but the steam mop shows how it truly gets the job done. So many uses. This steam mop system comes with everything needed to steam clean almost everything in my house. It takes under a minute to heat up and be ready to use. The water reservoir is very easy to fill. The pads are washable so I don't have to spend money on disposable pads. I normally use a spray mop with cleaner on my floors. It works fine but I wanted something to really get the floors clean without the use of cleaners or chemicals. That is where this mop comes in. It steam cleaned my tile floors as well as hardwood floors so well. My hardwood floors never looked that clean with a regular spray mop. Love this mop. Cleans carpets, windows, furniture, just think of what you could possibly clean. Believe it or not this mop with detachable handheld steamer will remove wrinkles before your eyes. u hust received this item today. I was excited to use it si ive only used this one time so far, on my hardwood floors. It heated up quickly and lasted longer than expected. It was able to get up some spots that regular swiffering or mopping couldnt get. I do not like how short the cord is. I dont have a large house and my stuck vacuum can be plugged in the center of the house and go everywhere. This steam mop have to be plug in two separate outlets, and would've been more if I did the whole house. Also i don't like that the plug can't be clipped on the cord to store. That seems like its just obvious for it to gave that little extra piece. Those are my reviews so far. I'll update if it warrants.Tracy

we moved homes and omg, when I say this, I mean it, but this is my absolute most favorite utility ever. the previous home owners weren't exactly the cleanest and this steam vacuum wasn't gonna take any of that. paint on the floor that even those industrial grade stain removers couldnt peel? no problem. sticky icky gooey set in mess on the counter? no problem. nasty stains in the bathtub? no problem. disgusting window stuff? consider it gone. cabinets dirty and messy? not anymore. this little tool has been phenomenal when it came to cleaning everything around the house, the house legitimately felt like it was brand new after we were done with rhis. btw for anyone wondering, I did all this by using the pressure attachment only on the steam vacuum, nothing else. while steaming the messy spots, I would rub it back and forth with the steam vacuums nozzle itselfShamim

First of all, Use distilled water only & it will work longer… just like an iron. Important to use distilled water!!! I have had mine for over 10 years . It still works great, has no handle (broke cause I dropped too many’s times) It still cleans like a champ! Dogs, cats , kids & I absolutely still my favorite part of cleaning! Is a must! Ok, where has this hark – Shark® Professional Steam Pocket® Mop been all my life? Previously, I had always used a regular broom and mop to clean my floors and thought that was enough. Well, after this pandemic hit, I really wanted to be sure to keep my home clean and sanitized. Well, look no further. This mop steamer is amazing! It has 3 functions, light dust, steam and scrub. Well, I started with the steam function first, and was amazed at how gently it steamed my floors. I had a few spots that needed a little extra tmatrwntion, so I switched to scrub mode which was pretty amazing roo. I then completed the floors on steam. When I was done, my floors looked better than they ever had, and were so clean I felt like I could eat off the floors!! The pad is easy to remove and hand or machine washable. I had this steam mop PRE pandemic and unfortunately in a move, lost it. So I bought the new improved one. What a loss. My old one was a pump steam feature which allowed more controlled steam from the human cleaning. This new one “automatic” and is so sporadic it’s annoying. It does a full blast of steam for around 20seconds. Then stops all steam to build up steam momentum, in which you lose about 30-40 seconds waiting. It’s a lot of wait time for a good clean. In which it does clean well. But it’s so annoying. I want the old technology. I could pump the handle on the old one, to release as much steam as I wanted and use an entire container of water in one steam moment, if I wanted to! This one is too time consuming. Until the end, in which you save a dirty spot, and you turn off the machine and GIANT puffs of steam emit, in which you can scrub to your hearts delight. Unfortunately I prefer steamed water to clean so I will keep this dumb upgrade. I miss my old one.ThisGirl

This product is great. It puts the Shark steam cleaner to shame. Its very powerful and last quite a long time on just a cup of water. It will give you about 15-20 minutes of continuous usage. However, if you press the trigger sporadically, it can last about 30-45 minutes. The steam blast is loud and packs a punch. I use this thing to clean and sanitize everything from my bathroom to the kitchen (always sanitize the nozzle with bleach or alcohol after use to avoid cross contamination). Another great feature is all the attachments it comes with so you can steam clean almost anything. My only issue is the quality of some of the attachment. The small brushes and scrub pads aren't really reusable. After the first usage, they start to fall apart, especially the scrub pads which are excellent for cleaning your tub and tile. You can buy more attachments online, but its kind expensive costing 10 for 5. One reason I switched to steam cleaning was to save money on cleaning solutions, but if I have to constantly buy the attachments, eventually it will work out to cost more than the cleaning solutions. But I recently used the steamer to clean this very disgusting fridge in the apartment Im renting. I bought this tool to clean 1/2 grout tile floor grout. It worked great for the first 10 minutes, and it would great for the process, except it is not designed properly. I has a special small nozzle head, upon which small brush attachments are placed. There are three pieces, brush, nozzle, and nozzle attachment (to hook to hose or hose extension). The nozzle is made of thermoplastic, like the rest of the unit, except the pressure chamber cap, which is brass. The nozzle needed to be made of brass as well. The thermoplastic heats up, and a threaded piece (with o-ring) when at temperature cannot handle GENTLE scrubbing with the brush. (e.g. for the purpose it is made.) The nozzle fitting jumps the threads every time, once it heats up. So the unit is only good to use for about 10 minutes, before the nozzle gets soft from heat, and falls off constantly. If they made the nozzle out of brass, and the end piece (nozzle attach) out of metal, it would work great. But they didn't, so it is pure frustration to CONSTANTLY put the nozzle on again, and again, and again. This gets 1 star. It works great for 10 minutes, then its useless. If used with the larger attachments, it would probably be a great value; but I need it to clean grout. It says it cleans grout, but it really doesn't.MesaGuy

I've only used the MC1275 once to clean shower floor tile grout using the scrub pad attachment. I filled the steam chamber one time with distilled water, and the steam was ready in approximately 5 minutes. It was easy to control, but did a marginal job restoring the whiteness of the grout. The scrub pad itself came loose and separated completely from its plastic base in under 10 minutes. While the steamer worked as advertised, steaming cleaning the grout didn't live up to my expectations, and the scrub pad's durability was a major disappointment. The good – it produced steam reliably; control is easy to maintain. The bad – the scrub pad is virtually useless for scrubbing applications; steam alone will not magically clean discolored tile grout.beforemytime

It is very ease to use. Set up was simple. The amount of steam was easy to control. It has definitely met all of my expectations with flying colors. I also like the fact that it is an American made product. The warranty is also a great selling feature. Highly recommend. Update: We have had an incredible amount of rain and our "dog" room was a muddy mess. We have tile and it was covered with dried red clay mud. Had a pest problem. Vapamore cleaned any remaining boric acid I had in carpet. Never again will I use boric acid. It is difficult to remove and can poison you after you think you have vacuumed it up but not all comes up even after several vacuums. Vapamore also disinfected mattress, couch, loveseat, chairs, kitchen floor, pillows, drapes, etc. Easy to maneuver the unit due to its compact size and wheels. The main arm has two easily detachable sections which elongate or shorten the sprayer to varied lengths for ease of use. The back of the unit has storage for the smaller attachments. Be careful this storage space doesn't open up while you are emptying remaining water from the unit as you could lose a few small parts down the drain. Important to read all the safety info prior to first use so you don't make a bad mistake which invalidates the warranty. Limited lifetime warranty looks pretty good. I can see myself purchasing an additional floor mop cloth at some point in the future. This cloth is easy to remove and toss in the laundry. It can get dirty quickly if you do not do your standard vacuuming of carpet prior to steam disinfection. The hot steam dried quickly from upholstery. Nothing was left sopping wet. This is important in order to avoid mold. Can not stress this enough.Candice

I have two long haired cats. In my kitchen near the stove I had a lot grease buildup from cooking. Lately I stated to notice my cats hair was shredding and the loose hair was now getting in the grease. I ordererorderer the H20 Mop because I really needed some help. This product took just minutes to put together. The water heats up even quicker and it really did the job. The steam loosens up the grease and the hair, and with one wipe it came off. I can't wait to tackle my bathroom. But this saved me a lot embarassment since my family is coming over for the holidays. No one would have wanted to cook in my kitchen before. It takes less than a minute to warm up. The heat is hot enough to melt away candle wax and nail polish on hardwood floors. It is a little hard, however, to clean vehicle seats with but that's what a detailer is used for! I recommend it. I use it for my tub, my floors and my rugs. I received my mop within 3 days and having owned a previous one, similar but not a Black & Decker, I was very impressed with the quality of the standard of material of the mop and Portable Steamer and accessories. I cleaned the white tiles in my kitchen and was happy with the result. Steam mops are magical! My cleaning heart is so happy! We moved in three years ago and the floor in our bathroom has always looked like this. I probably scoured 30+ years of grime out of these tiles. So gross! Still not my favorite tile, but I can at least live with it for a little while longer and not get totally disgusted every time I look at it. The Bissell Powerfresh Slim 3-in-1 is my new best friend! Using the handheld pod, red brush, and a bit of elbow grease to scrub both tile and grout it performed really well. The grime was really built up and I had to clean out the bristles often, but I was expecting that for the initial deep clean. I also pretreated the tile flooring with a vinegar solution to loosen the dirt before scrubbing and that worked like a charm. For a big job like this I had to refill the tank several times, but if there was a larger water tank it would have added extra weight and made it difficult to maneuver the pod. Haven't tried the extension arm or the mop head yet, but I think it will be a great way to keep all that grime build up at bay.Anna

Assembly was simple although at first I didn’t realize the screw that holds it together was taped to the handle, and I worried it was lost. Also to those receiving this mop with what looks like a “used” water tank and are returning it because it appears to have been used and then returned: I believe Bissell water tests these machines to check for leaks and to make sure everything works properly before packaging up for the consumer, so you could order ten of these and all ten would appear “used.” If all the other components and packaging appear to have not been opened and used once before, it’s safe to say your product hasn’t been used and then returned. The power cord was neatly folded and the twist tie did not appear to have been undone before and retied, the mop pads were clean and smelled of the manufacturer not like someone’s detergent. The screw came in a sealed plastic bag taped to the handle. Pretty safe to say it hadn’t been used before. The scrub brush is amazing. I use it on the caulking by my baseboards to get up dirt and dust. I will say, the “light” steam setting seems a bit too light. Maybe just for a quick dusting of your floors. The high setting is the way to go if you really want to see some steam and a good amount of wetness left behind on the floor. I had mopped with my traditional mop a week before using the steam mop, and to be honest I wasn’t too surprised that the pad was dirty since I’ve always assumed the mop was leaving dirty water behind. I was excited to buy this to clean/sanitize my floors in the entire house. I have large marble tile (very glossy) in first floor and semi gloss wood floor on the stairs & second floor. I started downstairs first, and worked my way upstairs. I followed the exact directions, and the first floor with marble came out terrible with super large streaks of water. I had it set to high steam, and was using the rough textured pad for the stains. I then began the stairs, and worked my way up to the second floor. Refilled the tank with water, and began the same process on the second floor and came out way better. This doesnt work great with high gloss tile. Wood is better to absorb the moisture it leaves behind. Pros: the cord is very long, and the tablet it comes with in the box left my house smelling really good. I will give it one more shot with the first floor’s marbel tile on low steam setting, and the white pad to see how it goes. If the outcome is the same, I’m going to return it.Chris

Rarely does a product exceed my expectations like this inexpensive little gem! Easy to use, works better than expected, cleaned stuff off my tile floors that I couldn't scrub off, and also worked well on the carpet. This steam cleaner works well with no leaking. The pads are durable and wash well. I air dry them. You do need to fill the water container again during mopping if you have a big area. It heats quickly so not much time is lost. The only problem I have had is that the handle needs to be sturdier. When pushing the mop, the handle tends to bend some.Linda

I bought this two months ago to replace my previous Shark steam mop (a different model), which my daughter "borrowed". I have also had other brands of steam mops in the past. I like that the water tank is removable and can be filled directly from the tap and there is not a little jug which needs to be stored somewhere. I like that it is light and relatively small and hence easy to store and carry. I also like that it stands up by itself. My previous mop had the flip over option and the cloth was like a pocket, with only one side open. Unfortunately it shrank on its first wash and never fitted properly again, often coming off mid-mopping (one of the reasons I did not press y daughter to return it), so I liked that this model's cloth attached differently. The bit I did not anticipate with this model was that whilst the cloths stays on fine when mopping hard floors, I cannot use it to steam clean carpets as the cloths sticks to the carpet in preference to the mop. I wish I had known this before buying this mop. This is the first steam mop I have had where you have to prime the pump to get the steam flowing. This requires you to pump the handle a few times. What the instructions do not say is that you have to continue the pumping action to keep the steam flowing. Now, this happens automatically as you are mopping the floor, but when you stop to move the mop around furniture (which most of us have on our floors) the steam stops and then you have to pump it several times to get it going again. Same issue if you want to hold the mop on a stain to give it a while to soften, steam flow stops. So, overall I would not rush to buy this model again, despite it having some good features.CN263

If you are looking for a small, steam mop that delivers big results, look no further! I decided going in, that this steam mop was going to just be mediocre. But, much to my surprise, cleaned like no one’s business! The little water basin could be a little larger, but it’s not a deal breaker imo. Once plugged in, expect to be ready to mop away in about 20-30 seconds. Yes, for once a product literally gives an accurate description. I use a spray bottle with 1-3 ratio of vinegar water and spray as I mop to give a little extra disinfectant. By the end of my clean, my washable reusable mop pad is filthy with yuck. The mop was super quick and easy to set up and the longer cable meant getting around large floors wasn’t such a task after all, I was reluctant to buy in favour of a cordless but couldn’t find one, I guess for electrical safety reasons these cannot be cordless. Plenty of steam, remember to do the pump action if you experience low steam with it. It takes me moments to go around and do all of our floors here, and the mop came with two pads so I’m not without if the other one hasn’t gone in with the mucky wash yet. The pad head itself twists around in movement so I can easily manoeuvre it down the sides of the toilet and any other skinny gap floor areas that fit. The price was competitive in the sale, and for something as good as this I would go as far as saying overall my purchase is outstanding. Highly recommend!Rachel

I have owned a few steam mops so I know my steam mops. The Sharper Image SI-160 stood out to me as it’s much sturdier than I’m used to. The parts are made of stronger material which makes me feel it’ll stand the test of time. The mop is triangular in shape which I imagine is to assist in to getting in to tight areas and corners. The mop was easy to assemble and the water reservoir was easy to fill. I did find that it took a few tries to actually get the steam to start coming. I pressed the button on and off a few times until it got going, but once it did, it stayed on. This steam mop didn’t leave my floors wet as others do, rather lightly damp. The steam level can be adjusted, though I used it at max steam. I was happy to see that it was successful in getting out a couple of stubborn built up spots on my floors. The cord is long which is a well thought out detail, letting me continuously mop the floors throughout my apartment. The mop doesn’t have an area to loop the cord around, which I thought was lacking. I also found the mop to be on the heavy side (along the lines of a vacuum cleaner). I guess that is due to it not being made of flimsy material, though I still do wish it was a bit lighter. My biggest issue with this mop is that it doesn’t stand on its own. You need to lean the handle against something as the handle doesn’t prop up to stand. I also found that the buttons didn’t fully snap into place as they should, though perhaps I need to be more forceful in snapping it into place. I haven’t used it in the handheld form yet but I’m excited to. This feature is so innovative and I love that it’s all integrated into one product. The harder brush for the mop may be interesting to try out as well for the really tough stains. All in all, I find this mop to be innovative and generally well made.Estilee

It’s okay. It’s not out of this world like the reviews led me to believe. I based my purchase on the reviews. When I got my steam mop, there was a piece missing. I’ll say that the sharper image company did get that rectified quickly. Target said they couldn’t get a hold of the vendor, not sure how I was able to do it so successfully. Target wanted me to return it. It takes at least a minute to warm up and seems to steam mop well. I’ll be getting something else to use in between steam mopping.Mapia

First time ever using this brand steam mop and found it to work really well. Assembling it is a breeze. The spout cup is easy to fill (just slide the rubber piece over to fill it and put back into place) and snap it into the handle. When I plugged it in (there’s no on/off button), it said it would be ready to use within 25-30 seconds but I just heard a ticking noise but I think that was just the water seeping into the mop and actually takes about a minute or two in order for it to be completely ready. The trigger, when pressed, releases the steam. I personally don’t care for the trigger because it seems to get in the way of handling the mop when mopping. I like the triangle head as it’s easy to reach into corners easier. The mop pad (two are included) stays on well with velcro and doesn’t slip or slide off. The mop glides very easily over floors and gets HOT! I was curious to see how hot it gets and was pleased at how well it steams! My floors look and feel clean so it does a great job at getting into the grooves on my floor. What I’m disappointed most about is that there isn’t a cord keeper on this mop and no place to keep the attachments. I can wrap it around the handle but it doesn’t really stay and constantly slips off. This could very easily be a five star mop if these two features could be improved. My wife and I love the Shark Steam Pocket Mop. It was easy to assemble and did not require any tools. The directions are easy to follow and it comes with a measuring cup to make it easy to fill with distilled water. We filled it with water, plugged it in, waited 30-45 seconds, and began mopping. If you want more steam, just pump the handle a few times and it increases the amount of steam released. It works great around the stove to remove oil that splatters out of the pan. It is also great for use in the bathroom to disinfect the area around the toilet. It comes with two mop covers that are machine washable. We use it on our porcelain tile and hardwood floors and it works great. I wish it held more water so I did not have to refill it as often. It is small and lightweight but does a great job steaming the dirt and grime off our floors. I highly recommend the Shark Steam Pocket Mop!Joseph12

Right out of the box, this mop was easy to assemble and begin using. It is recommended that you only use distilled water in the mop. I used the mop on my tile floors and it was very easy to move around since it was so lightweight. It dries very quickly and cleans and sanitizes. I love that the cloth attachment comes off so easily and can be thrown in the washing machine. It would be nice if it were cordless/battery powered, but the cord is long enough that I was able to get around most of the house. I also wish it held a little more water so that it didn’t have to be refilled so frequently. Overall this is a great mop, is easy to use, and dries quickly without leaving a chemical smell or residue.sage33

We had two different inexpensive steam mops when we lived in the UK. They were easy to use and made cleaning up the kitchen or bathroom a breeze. They last longer if you use distilled water because it was eventually the hard water that built up in the first one that it quit steaming after 3-4 years of steady use. When we returned to the US, I bought this one based on the good reviews. It came with two washable pads which is convenient and you can use either side for cleaning. However, I was disappointed to find after buying it that the pumping action is necessary to produce the steam. This means when you are trying to push it or pull it across the floor, a lot of the energy you put in results in the handle going inward instead of the mop moving. This makes it much more laborsome to mop and makes for a sore arm. This was annoying at first but after a few month it stopped producing much (or any steam) and instead drips water on the floor behind it. So now we basically have a $60 piece of junk as it doesn't steam.Ticket to Ride fans

I loved all the attachments on this steamer. Once I started steaming, I couldn't stop! I used every attachment for different purposes. The microfiber cloth and rectangular attachment worked great on my wood floors! The small nylon brush and steel brush were awesome for grout lines! I would have given a 5 star review; however, I wasn't impressed with the window tool. We have a glass shower and it took a LONG time to clean…and didn't work well. Traditional glass cleaner was much more effective and a LOT easier. I also wish the unit came with more microfiber cloths.SJO

This cleaner does a very good job of cleaning. It heats up quickly and has very good pressure, which is adjustable. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the locking buttons are hard to press to release attachments. I have pinched a finger several times and currently have a blood blister from trying to remove attachments.cat mom

I deep cleaned my entire house with this steam cleaner. It's amazing. It stands by brilliantly without leaking steam while I move things around to clean more. I find that the 700ml lasts a good while before needing to be refilled. The only draw back is that if you must refill you need to let it cool off and depressurize before adding more water. Pros you can use tap water but make sure you maintain per Dupray instructions with vinegar rinse after so many uses. I used every single attachment and I love it but I still need to get the hang of the squeegee. My favorite moment was getting the cracks between my shower surround that I couldn't get with anything else. The pressurized steam blasted out the gunk. It was disturbing and oh so satisfying at the same time. I feel better knowing that I can clean soft surfaces that I can't throw in the laundry, especially for the coming baby. 100% worth the cost, and I'm glad I chose the home over the Neat.Christy R

I bought this two months ago to replace my previous Shark steam mop (a different model), which my daughter "borrowed". I have also had other brands of steam mops in the past. I like that the water tank is removable and can be filled directly from the tap and there is not a little jug which needs to be stored somewhere. I like that it is light and relatively small and hence easy to store and carry. I also like that it stands up by itself. My previous mop had the flip over option and the cloth was like a pocket, with only one side open. Unfortunately it shrank on its first wash and never fitted properly again, often coming off mid-mopping (one of the reasons I did not press y daughter to return it), so I liked that this model's cloth attached differently. The bit I did not anticipate with this model was that whilst the cloths stays on fine when mopping hard floors, I cannot use it to steam clean carpets as the cloths sticks to the carpet in preference to the mop. I wish I had known this before buying this mop. This is the first steam mop I have had where you have to prime the pump to get the steam flowing. This requires you to pump the handle a few times. What the instructions do not say is that you have to continue the pumping action to keep the steam flowing. Now, this happens automatically as you are mopping the floor, but when you stop to move the mop around furniture (which most of us have on our floors) the steam stops and then you have to pump it several times to get it going again. Same issue if you want to hold the mop on a stain to give it a while to soften, steam flow stops. So, overall I would not rush to buy this model again, despite it having some good features.CN263

If you are looking for a small, steam mop that delivers big results, look no further! I decided going in, that this steam mop was going to just be mediocre. But, much to my surprise, cleaned like no one’s business! The little water basin could be a little larger, but it’s not a deal breaker imo. Once plugged in, expect to be ready to mop away in about 20-30 seconds. Yes, for once a product literally gives an accurate description. The mop was super quick and easy to set up and the longer cable meant getting around large floors wasn’t such a task after all, I was reluctant to buy in favour of a cordless but couldn’t find one, I guess for electrical safety reasons these cannot be cordless. Plenty of steam, remember to do the pump action if you experience low steam with it. It takes me moments to go around and do all of our floors here, and the mop came with two pads so I’m not without if the other one hasn’t gone in with the mucky wash yet. The pad head itself twists around in movement so I can easily manoeuvre it down the sides of the toilet and any other skinny gap floor areas that fit. The price was competitive in the sale, and for something as good as this I would go as far as saying overall my purchase is outstanding. Highly recommend!Rachel

Only just unpacked my new steamer but it scores 100% for ease of using steam controls with an arthritic thumb. This was a replacement for a highly recommended hand held steamer I received as a Christmas present but was unable to hold down the trigger that produced the steam, due to my arthritis. This steamer uses a whole hand grip on a much larger trigger, it is also light, although not flimsy, making it easy to maneuver on its three wheels. The steamer is very quick to heat up and ready to use in less than a minute. The steam jet is powerful and I would recommend this product. The design has been well thought out and all the accessories have a place to be stored on the machine. However I cannot find a convenient way to store the hose and power lead as neither are detachable. At present I have wound them around the steamer but this is less than satisfactory and given the rest of the design is so good I would have thought there was a better solution.249ers

I purchased the steamer to clean my shower glass. I was going to remodel my bathroom because I could not clean the shower stall glass. It had hard water build up. I decided to purchase the steamer as the last resort to try and clean the hard water spots. I used it and took my time and the shower door and the glass look brand new and I decided not to renovate my bathroom just new paint and decore and with the clean glass it looks 100% better.Padilla

we already have a high-pressure cleaner from Kärcher and are convinced of the very good quality of Kaercher. we already had a steam cleaner from Kärcher in Germany and have finally been able to buy one again here. The operation is very easy, there are various attachments and you can start right away. Everything plug system, cartridge purely, water purely and off you go. The system can be operated in two settings. The normal function is quite sufficient to clean surfaces. The power level with the small brush is perfect for corners and places where really the hard dirt is. We have a few thousand square feet of glazed ceramic tile in our home, therefore we hoped that the Shark Steam & Scrub, Scrubbing and Sanitizing Steam Mop Model S7001 would be a new, better method of keeping those floors clean and sanitary. We have other Shark products which perform well, thus we had high expectations for the Steam & Scrub mop. My initial impressions are somewhat mixed, and somewhat less than we had hoped for. The Shark Steam & Scrub Steam Mop requires very minimal assembly. Snap in the upper handle and it is ready for the attachment of the scrubbing pads, filling with distilled water and almost immediate use. The Model S7001 has a few upgraded features as compared to the more basic Model S7000. The Shark Steam & Scrub uses two microfiber scrubbing pads, and comes with a total of four pads. The pads are composed of Polyester and Nylon which washes clean very easily, and should also be reasonably durable. Replacement pads are also available. The Steam & Scrub also comes with a plastic cup which Shark refers to as a filling “flask”, which is uniquely shaped to accommodate the narrow lid of the water tank. The cup holds approximately 8 ounces of water, and the water tank on the Shark Steam & Scrub has a capacity of approximately 16 ounces. I found that when operated primarily in the “Normal” cleaning mode, 16 ounces of distilled water provided approximately 30 minutes of steam operation. Shark recommends using only distilled water, which is clearly intended to prevent the formation of mineral scale deposits which would occlude the steam producing components. Shark does not approve of using any other fluids or chemicals in the water tank, including vinegar. Since vinegar cannot be used, the Shark cannot be readily descaled if mineral deposits resultant from using tap water were to clog the internal components. The supplied microfiber scrubbing pads are easily attached to the bottom of the unit. They are a large 7-¼” diameter which gives the Shark Steam & Scrub a wide cleaning path. The scrubbing pads have an integral donut shaped plastic ring with teeth that align with slots in the drive spindles. The attachment of the scrubbing pads to the spindles is completed with four Velcro pads. Even with the integral alignment aid, the scrubbing pads do not center absolutely perfectly, which results in minor oscillation of the mop head while in operation. The Shark Steam & Scrub is equipped with a very long power cord of over 22 feet, which is very convenient in reducing the necessity to unplug and reconnect at other electrical receptacles. There is cord storage on the handle, but there are no provisions for storage of the scrubbing pads. The unit is very lightweight, and subject to tipping over if left upright and unattended with the power cord dangling. The Steam & Scrub is rated at 1120 watts, which means that it is drawing 9.3 amperes of current. Resultantly, the electrical resistance potential of the long power cord can result in the cord and plug feeling slightly warm; but not dangerously hot. Preparing the Steam & Scrub for use simply required filling the water tank with about 16 ounces of distilled water utilizing the provided filling flask, attaching two microfiber scrubbing pads to the spindles, plugging the unit in and cycling the single control button on the front of the unit to the desired cleaning mode. Tilting the handle back towards the operator activates the motor which drives the rotating scrubbing pads. The Model S7001 has three Cleaning Modes, as compared to the two modes of the Model S7000. The Cleaning Modes are “Light”, “Normal” and “Deep”. The Model S7001 is differentiated by the addition of the Deep cleaning mode that the S7000 lacks. Both the amount of steam generated and the rotational speed of the scrubbing pads are controlled by each of the Cleaning Modes, with “Deep” cleaning mode producing the most steam (and consuming water fastest) and using the highest scrubbing speed. The Steam & Scrub carton label claims that the scrubbing pads rotate at 150 Revolutions Per Minute (RPM), presumably at top speed in Deep cleaning mode. The S7001 is also differentiated by its mop head having two, four LED “headlights” which are very effective. Shark also makes the product claim that the Steam & Scrub “Steam Sanitizes 99.9% Bacteria Removal”. It is important to understand the steam sanitization capabilities and procedures in order to evaluate whether or not the Steam & Scrub will meet user needs and expectations. The following is excerpted directly from the Shark Steam & Scrub User Manual, and explains how sanitization may be accomplished in actual use: TO SANITIZE*: 1 Attach clean Dirt Grip® Soft Scrub Pads to the scrubbing mop head. 2 Plug in the unit, tilt the mop handle down, and press the mode button to select the DEEP setting. The machine works as stated and I really liked it but it leaves terrible swirl and streak marks on the floor. If you have a small floor with no windows to shine across them you won’t notice. But if you have a long expansive hallway like mine you will. I used distilled water and cleaned the floor several times with fresh pads (8) just to be sure it wasn’t residual cleaning product from previous cleaners. Returning is becoming a nightmare! They want me to ship this one back to them and send me a new one. Like that will do anything but cost me time and aggravation. But here’s the kicker, you can’t get the handle back off to ship it back! The CS agent told me to get something bent just perfectly to fit behind the hook where the cord goes and stick it in there. Lol!!!! Even if I had this magic tool the pin is not visible to push it with. I currently await a call back because it ain’t happening. This is a huge pain!! This Shark Steam and Scrub Steam Mop offers outstanding cleaning power and a lightweight, easy to handle design. The steering and maneuverability are remarkable, and make cleaning my hard floors as easy as can be. The smooth handling, low-profile design allows me to reach tight spaces around the house with ease. It is perfect for scrubbing big or small areas around the house. Even though it is compact and lightweight, I was quite impressed with how effective it is at cleaning and sanitizing hard floors. The cleaning method it uses is a combination of steam and rotating heavy-duty cleaning pads. I really like that after it is used, all that remains is a very slight dampness that quickly dries, unlike a traditional mop. It features 3 cleaning levels: Light, Normal, and Deep. Included is a water filling flask, and I was surprised by how little water it takes to fill the reservoir, and how long it lasted with the water tank filled. I used it on the Normal setting, and was able to clean my Master Bath, Home Office, and Living Room one one and half tanks of water. The water reservoir is very easy to fill because it takes so little water and thankfully there is no dirty water reservoir to drain. It feels very well built and is exactly what I would expect at this price point. The cleaning pads are suitably heavy duty, and I expect them to last quite awhile. Shark has included 2 extra cleaning pads, for a total of four in the package. The cleaning pads are washable, but what I have been doing is hand washing them with dish detergent. It features bright LED lights that are useful for illuminating hard to see areas. Another great feature is the 22 foot long power cord that minimizes the amount of times that I have to change outlets.Kotor
