Honestly haven’t had any major complaints about the vacuum. We do have kids so we use it probably every other day to 2 days. It’s a compact vacuum which is a plus. The one tiniest complaint I’d have is after going back and forth a couple times there are some items that you would think the vacuum would pick up, but doesn’t. Instead, I use the detachable wand for those odd pieces. I should clarify, the vacuum has picked up 99% of what is seen on the carpet. It’s just those random odd stragglers and it doesn’t happen every time. As for our tiles, I just use the wand to pick up anything necessary then jet swift it but that’s a different product.GL

To start off I would have to say that the Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum is a high quality performing product. There is very great suction when it comes to pet hair and even popcorn in the carpet that my child had spilled. The spinning brush is adjustable to many settings. Such as bare floor to higher profile carpet. It does a great job of pulling dirt and hair out of my medium profile carpet. It isn't to heavy so when I use the extended hose handle I can carry it from place to place. One thing in was not a fan of was the multi dusting piece. It was a little to bulky to fit into my window seal to get that dirt out. The smaller end was also not long and thin enough to fit into my dryer vent. The dusting piece also added extra unnecessary bulk. It is a nice concept but it isn't as great as the individual pieces. Other than my opinion on the duster, I really enjoy and love my Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum. If you are contemplating this purchase, I recommend you try this product. Other than marrying my ex husband, buying this vacuum was the worst decision of my life. It is bulky and cheap plastic. Extremely loud and makes my arm go numb from all of the vibration! It has a "hardwood" setting but the brush still spins in that setting, which can scratch the hardwood. I was excited about the pet brush attachment, but is doesn't really work since the attachment will NOT stay on the hose or in the attachment holder, for that matter. It does not have much suction, I feel running a lint brush over the carpet would pick up more! I won't even give this vaccum away because I wouldn't want anyone to hate me!BBB Customer

I bought this Oreck XL Commercial floor sweeper as a brand-new backup unit for an existing Oreck Xl home vac that I bought back in the 1990's. The original one still works just fine and the only maintenance it has ever required, other than bag changes, was a single drive belt replacement. The Oreck XL is a workhorse floor/carpet sweeper! And, the best part is that I recently got this brand-new one for $200, which is less than half of the price I paid for my original Oreck XL, back in the 1990's. The Oreck XL Commercial vacuum is light in weight (8 pounds). The low profile makes it incredibly easy to slide underneath a bed (you can even store it under there, between uses). It has a very comfortable ergonomically-designed handle with readily accessible on/off control switch. Each vacuum bag is top-loading and holds an incredible amount of debris. The filter bag is easy to change, is reasonably priced, and prevents any sneeze-producing dust from ever escaping the vac during use.vintage-connections

5/15/19 I did a lot of research before I chose to get one of these. I found out that the motor is only a 4 amp motor and I wondered if that was going to be powerful enough to do a good job. (I knew the motor was very long lasting.). I figured that because the discharge bag downstream of the motor was so much larger then comprable vacuums, that there would not be much back pressure on the motor and so by design, you probably don't need such a powerful motor. I also figured, that if you design a vacuum cleaner right, why would you need a 10 11 12 amp motor? I like the fact that it had a good quality cord that you didn't have to bend over to wrap the cord up it had a big bag so you didn't have to constantly buy bags did it was durable, because it is what janitors use and hotels across the country. I also know that my carpet was not a shag carpet it was a lower carpet and it was a hardwood floor. So I figured I would buy it from Walmart and try it and if I don't like it I can get my money back. WOW!!! I am so impressed with this machine! It picks up like you would not believe everything and I love the fact that you don't need a motor that is so powerful it belongs on a saw to cut wood. I love not having all these gadget cheap accessories that falling off all the time. I love being able to get underneath stuff. I love the lightweight. I love the switch on the handle in case I suck up a sock or shoelace. so that I can shut the motor off before I burn up a belt. I love the fact there's a spare belt underneath. I love the heavy-duty cushioning around the motor housing. And I really like the way the brushes are set up the beater bars very well-designed very simple very rugged very durable. (I believe in keep it simple KISS.)! So what if it's a tad noisy. And the negative review the guy posted about not being able to get us handle tight……well…… Some people are just not the least bit mechanically inclined. I like it better than my Bissell, KenmoreJay

Our Princess vacuum just died. We have always had problems finding bags for it anyway… We received a used Oreck as a gift many years ago and it still runs and cleans super. We still wanted a second vacuum on the top level. Well, that was a no brainer. The Oreck is very lite and easy to maneuver. Best vacuum cleaning we have ever seen.Brian

I am delighted with my cordless Animal V8 Vac it is just what I was looking for, light and easy to use, and no cord to trip over, with a powerful suction, and always ready to go. At 80 + I was finding my old friend, A Slim all-floors upright vac over ten years old and still going strong rather too much for me, I was thinking of having someone in to clean for me. Now I have no need to, and my new Animal V8 will soon pay for itself. My daughter is very pleased to adopt my old Slim All-Floors vac as it had many more years of service to give. My old Dyson DC16 recently died and I was frantic to find a similar replacement. I was just looking for a cordless handheld to quickly vacuum up small areas or spot clean. I saw this V8 cordless Motorhead looked almost identical to my deceased Dyson and an extra perk was that it had a detachable wand so I wouldn't have to bend down/stretch for those hard to reach places. It was $100 off so I ordered it. Straight out of the box, it was heavy. My arm was instantly tired after trying to use it above my head. Multiple issues: The air powerful air coming out of the exhaust vents blows debris everywhere. My small contained mess was now scattered everywhere! The direct driver power head has a plastic guide on the front. This makes it impossible to suck up anything that is larger than that clearance space. I have a parrot that drops sunflower seed shells and Cheerio cereal on the floor and this Dyson just pushes them in front of the vacuum. No room for them to be picked up because of that guide. Strike 3 for me was emptying the dust container. You have to pull hard upward to lift the head off the vacuum which then triggers the dust container bottom to swing open. This did not work easily or smoothly at all. Basically, I had to use two hands to both pry the top part up while pulling the bottom flap down to empty. If it were just one small flaw, I'd get over it but this isn't an inexpensive vacuum! I am beyond disappointed and now I have to drag it back to the Club for a refund.TMc

Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is light weight & really easy to remove the canister from the stick stick. Glides nicely over our entire house which has mostly wood floors and tile, but did well on multiple rugs with different pile heights. It even comes with attachments to clean the stairs, furniture or our SUV & truck. We had a different cordless one but needed a vacuum we didn’t have to worry about running out of battery 1/2 way through our home. The cord is super long so that helps us from having to re-plug every few feet. The dust compartment is simple to empty and clean out with a press of a button. We have 2 dogs and 4 kids so we’re constantly vacuuming, the power is awesome and it’s convenient to easily unload the debris. It’s lightweight too, so it’s easy for me to move around the house without it being a hassle. There is a little downside to it, which is that it doesn’t stand on its own, so you’ll have to either prop it on something or fold it (which is easy) in order to do something else if needed while vacuuming. So I’m taking it down a star for that since I do have to stop and pick up toys etc having kids & pets constantly playing.Heathermthomas

The Shark Rocket Pro, picks up VERY well. The area I first vacuumed with it, was a area that had been vacuumed the day before. Within five minutes, the Shark had picked up A LOT more. The vacuum was easy to assemble and the attachment comes apart easily to be able to vacuum the ceiling and other had to get to areas. The Shark glides across any floor easily and turns easily. The only drawback I found with this Shark machine was the motor was near the top of the handle and it made the machine top heavy. It doesn’t stand on it’s own. There are two small attachments that didn’t have anywhere to attach to the machine, that I could find. But, as well as this machine works, I find these to be minor problems. As you can see from the photo, it picked up quite a bit after only a five minute vacuum. I have animals and cleaning hair has always been a problem.adcatex6

This Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum works GREAT ! I really like how light weight it is, I can very easily maneuver it around the house with little effort and let me say how GREAT it picks up all the dirt and debris from my floors. My carpets are much cleaner/fluffy and my hardwood floors are cleaned better than when I sweep. I am very excited and satisfied at how much debris/hair/dust/dirt was in the debris container. This vacuum has PLENTY of attachments that I can use on my stairs and I'll even be cleaning my curtains and window seals. As small as this vacuum is, is does the job QUICKLY and very EFFECTIVELY, much much better than my current canister vacuum. This Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is much quieter and very stronger in terms of suction than ANY vacuum I've ever owned. I went from 45 minutes of vacuuming to 15 minutes, WHAT A GREAT IMPROVEMENT ! Having purchased two Dyson handhelds in the past, I thought I would give Hoover a try this time around (as I do own a pull around canister Hoover that I've had since 2007 and its been awesome) . Unfortunately, I am left disappointed. If you want a vacuum that won't suck up the smallest of crumbs but rather push them around and shoot them out in every direction causing you more work, clogs up with little to no dust particles constantly, and then get zero help or back up from their customer support, then this is the vacuum for you! Because the vacuum couldn't be returned to store once it was used, I contacted the company directly. They proceeded to copy and paste their "de-clogging" instructions, and then ignored the rest of my emails. I am capable of reading a manual and this didn't help me what-so-ever. I cannot believe they actually advertise this as a PET model, because I am using it for much less dirty jobs than pet hair and/or litter, etc. and it's essentially useless. The only good thing I have found about it is the dual batteries and the battery life. However, that isn't very helpful alone when the vacuum doesn't do its job properly. Unfortunately due to the lack of support from Hoover itself, I will not be purchasing any more of their products or recommending to anyone else.kmitschke

I am quite impressed with my new vacuum. Every detail of it seems well thought out which means a lot in this day and age. It really seems to be built to last a long time. All the electronic parts are protected. I really appreciate the brushless "digital" motor. Every little detail is engineered like the battery and charger LED animations syncing together. It came with a silent 4-amp fast charger that charges fully in one hour. This is even including that it waits to charge the battery until it is the optimal temp so it doesn't degrade faster. Each battery and the whole vacuum have a three year limited warranty. The batteries have built-in smart BMS's that communicate with the vacuum and charger to make sure the cells are within their optimal ranges. I noticed the wheels are multi-piece with rubber tread unlike other vacuums I've seen. The whole vacuum is quite simple and intuitive. The phone customer service was some of the best I've ever had. The packaging was recyclable, even the plastic bags. The regular mode seems to clean better than our old corded Shark vacuum and the boost mode is crazy and like suctions it to the carpet. It gets a whopping 9 minutes of run time on boost mode though. The brushroll head is like 3/4 the width of the Shark's so you have to do more lines. The brushroll motor stopped many times to cool down today while I was vacuuming our nasty apartment's carpet. I needed to swap batteries a few times. I charged the other battery while I was using the other. I got the second battery for free as a promotion and it's very needed. Being a cordless stick vacuum is really quite nice but while it can go all the way under couches the weight is located where your hand is which makes it feel a lot heavier than it is. The hours of online research I did was definitely worth it. It would've been a five-star review but Hoover/FedEx's communication on the payment and shipping was very non-existent. Did lots of research on many different brands/types of battery powered handheld vacuums for auto and coffee cart cleaning. I roast my own coffee, addicted to espresso daily and those things can be a bit messy at times. This vacuum makes very short/efficient work of cleaning everything I put it through. I could tell just by unboxing it that the build quality is outstanding just based on the feel of the materials used, let alone actually charging/using it. The system is very well thought out with every possible attachment needed for all sorts of mild/moderate cleaning jobs. Very compact to get into the most confined areas too. The filtration system is as efficient as advertised as it never loses suction and the actual filter stays spotless due to the design. Super easy to empty the filter container with no mess/inconvenience. Have seen a few complaints in reviews regarding the battery capacity and yes it does fade when being pushed on MAX cleaning, but it does a great/quick job nonetheless. People should understand you simply can't have MAX performance/capacity simultaneously… Both battery packs give good runtime for the use I put it through and charge in a reasonable amount of time and don't experience any sort of low self-discharge when sitting on a shelf unused for any realistic period of time. Nice to have the option to buy more packs as these age as we have had to toss other brands when the battery fades due to it NOT being user serviceable and just dies. Last point I will make is the awesome design of the powered brush roller as it works very well at various angles and being able to remove the brush roller for easy cleaning is ingenious. Most other brands require the debris to be cut/pulled off of that part due to terrible design.Thomas

I received this vacuum for Christmas, and have been using it daily for about three months now. I really wanted to love this vacuum, but I don't. The main issue I have is with the self-cleaning brushroll: Sure it doesn't tangle, but that would require it to actually pick up fur in the first place. This vacuum adamantly refuses to pick up any fur that isn't just sitting loose on the surface of the rug…which is deeply unhelpful. The roll just wipes fur along, without doing anything to agitate the carpet. I have used the entire battery life of this vacuum on my single living room area rug, just to still need to use my rubber broom. For a vacuum that costs >$300, this is extremely disappointing, and considering the vacuum is called the "pet pro," I truly don't understand why this vacuum simply cannot handle fur in any regard. My second problem with this vacuum is that it leaks dust from every single joint and seam the entire time I'm using it. Who wants to be covered in dust from vacuuming? Not I. Additionally, the wand itself clogs constantly in a way that's very difficult to clean out. In fact, most of this vacuum is difficult to clean, outside of changing the filters. I have two cats and a lab mix who sheds like it's his mission on earth, and frankly, this vacuum just does not cut it.LindseyJoy

I've never made a purchase that I've been more disappointed in. The vacuum worked fine the first couple of times now every time is vacuum my house I have to unclog the machine from the many many many potential clog spots. I never once had this problem with our previous dyson vacuum. I have a golden retriever, so yes, having to maybe unload the vacuum is to be expected however for a product that supposedly specializes in pets, it does a TERRIBLE job. I've had to take apart the base of the bottom when that gets clogged, the shaft of the vacuum comes apart and now hair seems to get clogged making the base of the vacuum essentially worthless. I am so so so bummed and wish I would have returned this while I had the chance. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU WANT A PRODUCT THAT ACTUALLY PICKS UP DOG HAIR.Megan

I absolutely love that it is cordless. I loved the black friday price… i think it was $159 or $179 something like that . WAY under the price for a dyson. I absolutely love it. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat all whom shed ALOT. I use this vacuum daily, several times a day and have not had any issue with the battery. Keep in mind i mentioned having a little zoo of animals, so the first month i had to take the machine apart to be able to remove clogged hair on the long stick. The instructions dont really tell you how to clean it. There is more than just emptying the basket. To avoid it getting clogged, i now try to blow out all the hair in the tubes Atleast once a week. Only negative i would mention is I wish it was a bit stronger and wish it gave an option on height. For example if there is a leaf on the floor it will not suck it in becase the vacuum in not high off the ground to pick it up. I believe the dyson is a tad stronger but its not worth paying $400, when i can just use this one for under $200. I do not regret purchasing this at all. Out of the box, the vacuum was great. Sucked up everything. Within a month, it was basically a glorified hand vacuum. The only way I can get it to do anything is to use remove the hose and the attachments. The actual suction when using it upright is terrible. It vibrates like a dolphining F1 race car, makes a hideous popping and hissing sound from the side, and worst of all, leaves fuzz, dirt , and giant hard balls of lint all over my floors rather than actually cleaning them. Using this vacuum is more work than simply using a broom and a hand held dirt Devil. Customer service was helpful in trying to fix the issues but the suggested solve didn't work. It does quality performing for pet hair to include the turbo extension tool for upholstery. DO READ ALL the instructions so you know how to properly use it. Don't assume! The tools are ill placed with the placement and storage of the electrical cord (always falling off). The telescope for the hose to attachments doesn't lock properly and always ALWAYS pushing back in. I don't have an issue with pet hair on the roller getting stuck, but I do with human hair and any amount of length to trash. The spot where the hose connects to the canister is constantly getting clogged because it is small and narrow, needs to be wider. Pay CLOSE attention when taking the filter out of the canister and putting it back; there is a reason it is meticulously marked. The alignment must be perfect or it won't go back together properly; this is the same for everything on the vacuum. Hard to push when vacuuming (hence one of the reasons I said to read instructions carefully)? You have to provide some air to release the amount of suction, so it moves easier with the little knob on the left; by the way, it moves also on its own.feltermail

Within 1 minute of its' first use this model #2475 Pet Hair Eraser Turbo had its' brush roll stop spinning before a small 10×10 foot area was complete. The belt assembly is centre mounted so debris from both sides of the brush roll collects towards its' centralized belt motor which sits open with nothing to protect it from debris. This results in it being the furthest thing from the "tangle free" unit it is advertised as. Removal of the head screws holding the bottom cover in place is quite easy so I was able to see what was causing the jam (see picture attached). The manufacturer claims the unit can accept hair length of 4-8 inches. The longest of the hairs in this pictures is 3 inches, so the job in question should have been well within the manufacturer's guidelines. Upon reassembling the base the unit promptly got jammed a second time. After once again removing the clog I decided to give it a different task, cleaning hardwood. This unit has a key feature for those with hardwood floors, its' brush can turn on/off, saving your hardwood from being scratched by the roller. Sadly there is very little suction (see video attached). I found without the brush roll spinning the machine picks up essentially nothing. The last major feature this unit is its' heavily marked "pet hair eraser" attachments. The Pet Turbo Eraser" is nothing more than the same "turbo brush" or "handi-mate" that has been commonplace on vacuum's since the 1950's. The "two in one" pet brush is a traditional fabric brush as is the crevice tool. There is nothing fundamentally different with these attachments than what is industry standard from most vacuum suppliers. I've had Bissell units before, the last being the significantly cheaper "Clearview Alergen Lift-Off Pet Upright Vaccuum." It lasted 2 years before dying a few weeks after its warranty expired precipitating the purchase of this Turbo model. All in all a poor vacuum. Don't buy this.Jimmy

I really like my Bissell rug cleaner but this CleanView Pet Slim Corded Vacuum, not so much. Don't like the way it doesn't stand up on it's own. The button to release the dirt cup is in an awkward spot. Don't like the dust cup because if you handle it the wrong way, the dirt falls out of a hole (which is where the dirt enters in the first place). The "head" is floppy. It doesn't stay up (like a Shark) where you have to push down on it. There is really no place to grab and carry it comfortably, especially for a short person (which I am). I am on the lookout for a new stick vacuum. I should have sent this one back but it's too late now.Nancy

We have dogs and cats with bare floors so hair is a big issue in our home. I purchased this vac as a replacement for cordless vacs that I am constantly having to buy. They quickly lose their suction and battery power so this time i went with a corded vac. I own a kirby, I love it for my deep down cleaning but is so cumbersome for my daily (yes daily) vac of my home. The cord is long enough that i only need to use 2 outlets to vac 4 bdrms 2 baths kitchen and 2 living areas. Plenty long enough! Love the cord length! Suction is great. The edge pulls debri (I mean dirt, dust and lottsa hair) from the edges of my baseboards and from under furniture edges. This vac has 2 settings 1-suction only, 2-suction with brush roll. I first assumed being that I have bare floors, that i can vac w/ just the suction. However when it was powered on I had lifted the vac head then switched to brush roll while it was in mid air, POOF, all sorts of hair went flying everywhere. Apparently static caused hair to stick to the "undercarriage" of the vac head. I now vac my bare floors w/ brush roll going. The vac head sits quite close to the floor so when I vac my exterior door mats and rugs some get sucked/sealed to vac head making it difficult to vac. Perhaps maybe wheel adjustment to keep this from happening. I now just broom those that i cant vac. Pitty. The tube does not extend or get shorter. Its kind of a hassle when im trying to vac in tighter spaces. Another thing that I love about this vac is the it lays completely flat completely parallel to the floor w/o the vac head lifting up like most vacs do. So the reach under furniture like beds, desks and tables goes as far as up to the dirt canister. Another issue, when i must remove the vac head to use tube only, the hook to where the cord gets wrapped around gets in the way of me wanting to reach tight places. Why cant cords get wrapped at the top portion of vac not all the way down its shaft. Canister is larger, big plus!sylvia

We ordered this particular model on Amazon via The Bissell Store (still as of 2022) after seeing the owner's commitment to helping local animal shelters. Only after contacting customer service did we find out this is actually a discontinued model with many problems.
The roller bar itself started burning after 11 uses or 3 months so we returned it to Bissell. The replacement lasted only a month before it too started to smoke & leave marks on the roller bar.
We only use this on our hardwood floors, and three large wool area rugs yet this is the worst vacuum we've ever owned.
Now returning for a second time. We have been told, that "the latest" version or Model 28311 does not have the same problems.
This has been such a disappointment, especially when you're purchasing via the Bissell store directly and there is no mention that you are purchasing an older, discontinued model.

I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. I LOVE DYSON. It’s been a love affair for @15 or so years. I had the V-6 and made an excuse that college child needed so I could get the V-11animal. No one in my house were allowed to use. It WAS my baby – empty nester at the time. I bought it shortly after it first came out so it has the screwed in battery. I needed a cordless vacuum that was able to pick up Belgian Malinois Shepard fur from H _ _ _, easy to use, lighter than a full vacuum BUT WORK AS WELL OR BETTER than a full-size – I have chronic back pain and fibromyalgia and numbness… Yes in my crazy perfect vacuum dream world this existed and it DID! Thanks Dyson! It checked EVERY box of my needs, well except price. It was the most I have ever spent on something for me but dang it I deserved it and NEEDED it. It has been absolutely incredible! I would have told you 2 years ago do whatever you need to and buy bc it has incredible suction, awesome holders for tools with wall mount and on pole, adjustable suction on torque floor tool, adjust able power – Eco for low dirt area, Auto and Boost for deeper and stronger suction. So those are PROS. CONS are you need to press trigger to power it so with my neuropathy in hands at times I cannot vac, need to remove any attachments to empty dirt bin, after @8-12 months the bin empty slide started to stick, and then at 2 years (WARRANTY EXPIRED) and @5 months it started to shut off and then turn on. Called customer support and and they did a video troubleshoot and said it’s the battery. Well no battery in stock. Actually ABSOLUTELY ZERO SPARE PARTS for my baby have been in stock for over a month now! A week or so later it stopped more and then shut down. Called again and told it was the cyclone part (a guy on YouTube had same exact issue but his warranty was still active) BUT NO PART available. He told me to call or go to my nearest Dyson service center. Well the nearest in @1.25hrs. away. I do not have a car – getting divorced so I took my Dyson V11 animal and he got our 25 y/o car worth about the same. He fought for my V11 which was honestly a no win – I don’t know what he was thinking. Lol Plus the service center when I finally reached a person said that maybe it’s the trigger and I could mail it in. I still haven’t decided bc why pay to ship something that there’s no parts for? I rarely ever leave reviews but this thing is great! This is my first Dyson purchase and I have a German Shepard mix who sheds constantly, this V11 handles his hair with ease. I love the flexibility to use it anywhere with the attachments that are included, my personal favorite is the mini motorized tool. The simple design makes it easy to clean and maintenance. This thing picks up dirt that you don’t even see, especially in carpets and area rugs. I am also one who cares about packaging and this thing is packaged perfectly. The only downside, like all electronics is the battery life. 5 to 6 minutes on boost mode is not enough for a vacuum of this cost. I would like to see Dyson sell an additional king power cord that can be used to power the vacuum directly more like a traditional vacuum if needed for those of us with bigger houses with lots of carpeted areas.Jxustin

After reading these reviews I can't help but think that these machines are designed to last for roughly 2.5 years. My machine did the exact same thing that others have written about. I purchased this machine back in January 2020, about a month ago it started cutting off during use. The cutting off started getting more frequently to the point where the machine stays on for about 2 seconds before cutting off which makes it inoperable. So I call the service center to be told that my machine is out of warranty as of January 2022 and a replacement motor will cost $116. It is really unfortunate that a $700 machine is designed to last 2.5 years before you have to put more money into it. The sad part about it is that most people will pay the $116 because you can not get a new decent vac for that price and secondly, you have already invested $700 in this machine. It is very disheartening, and I wish I would have went with a different brand.Trise

Just moved to new state, left old vacuum for daughter. It was a larger Dirt Devil that we needed for all the shag carpet in that home, but our new home is a lot of hardwood and low pile carpet and I didn't feel I needed another large vacuum. Read some reviews and as with any product you will read "best" and "worst" – so you just have to decide if it's a chance worth taking … for me, IT WAS! I absolutely love this little devil 😉 lightweight and so very easy to use. Does a FAR better job than the traditional dust mop I was using before it arrived. I will say that we don't have children or pets, so it has a pretty easy gig. Doesn't have real strong suction, but very sufficient for our needs. Nice long cord. A snap to put together. Seems sturdy as I've dropped it 2x already and still works perfectly fine. Because it is small it won't hold a lot of debris, but again sufficient for our needs. I like that there is no belt that needs to be replaced and there is not rotary brush that needs to be constantly cleaned … I hate that! The only con is that it doesn't stand up by itself (need to lean it against something) but that was just a matter of getting used to leaning it on something and not just letting go of it. Works equally on hardwood and our low pile carpet. VERY pleased.Carol

I live in senior living, and not that strong; I moved into here with a Dycem. All the floors are laminate except bedroom rug. To use Dycem is difficult, is too heavy, and mars laminate. This little vacuum fills the bill, does not have beater bars, is maneuverable, goes up against baseboards and flattens out underneath things. The suction is excellent, gets dust, hair and whatever, and is very lightweight. Great simple solution, it was easy to put together and get out of box.Helofu

Really great at collecting fine particle dust, etc. Picks up from carpet, incl deep pile, or hard surface. Good power/suction and easy to switch from 'floor mode' to 'dustbuster' mode. We purchased the Shark corded stick model at Target a few years ago. At first it was great, and I recommend it for smaller houses or apartments since it's lightweight and small. It's powerful for its size. But it's not super durable. From what I've read, Shark doesn't make many replacement parts and there aren't many opportunities to repair their products. After about 2 years, several important parts were broken, including the hinge holding the dust cup together. We've been using packing tape to hold together the dust cup, and we have to cut off the tape to empty it and then re-tape it shut every time. Also the main little interior hose at the bottom that connects the head to the stick cracked wide open. The brush gets wrapped with long hair easily. The suction is pretty bad now, probably because of all these issues. Overall pros: It's great on wood floors, good on rugs, and works well while it lasts. Lightweight and easy to maneuver and carry up stairs. I like the attachments and they're easy to use. Long cord. Bagless is more environmentally friendly, although it's best to empty it into a plastic bag anyways. It's a good deal when it's on sale for $100. Overall cons: Doesn't stand up on its own. Cheaply made. The dust bin is really small. It's a hassle to empty the dust bin because you have to unplug the whole vacuum and carry the entire cord out to the trash can with you to empty the cup. Also, bagless vacuums just seem dirtier to me since the dust and hair isn't actually contained. It's always gross emptying it and trying to avoid the cloud of crap flying up at you. It is amazing honestly. We vacuumed our carpets with our old Shark right before we went to Target to look for a new one. We came home and vacuumed again over all of it. The canister filled up TWICE. I was mortified lol. This vacuum has powerful suction and harder tips on the roller that RAKE the carpet and get the film of dog hair out of my thick plush carpeting. I’m not lying. If I was unimpressed, I would tell you so! You DO have to empty the canister more than you would any other vacuum because it is small. If you are continuously vacuuming every room in your house and not emptying, you are going to put extra stress on the motor. It IS a stick vacuum. If you need heavy duty, 5-6 rooms at a time vacuuming, this isn’t your vacuum. I had to empty after EACH room because my vacuum obviously wasn’t doing its job. But I expect next time I won’t (I hope) because I will be pulling out the vacuum daily and keeping the dirt to a minimal in general. I really wanted cordless but my man insisted he didn’t want to deal with battery issues. I’ve never had a cordless and I just wanted one so bad. Cords irritate me and get in my way lol. But this purchase was good. So far I am very satisfied. I will definitely come back and redo my review if I feel like my opinion has changed in a couple months. I’ve had this vacuum for 4 years. Here are my thoughts: PROS 1. Good suction, still finds dust and dirt and pet hair 2. Lightweight and really low profile so you can vacuum under things easily 3. Price is amazing for the quality 4. No bags and all the filters I can clean out on my own and reuse. Huge cost and environmental savings. 5. Easy and fast detach / attach for getting corners and using the tools that come with it. 6. Dust bin opens easily and smart so I can hold it over the trash and won’t get dust everywhere. Less messy to empty than others. CONS 1. Corded 2. Hose broke down in head where it bends and flexes as you vacuum, I noticed it at year 3.5, so I had to replace that segment of hose (had holes/cracks in it). I purchased a hose at Home Depot and found some instructions online. Overall it was moderately hard to replace. 3. Suction does not adjust when you vacuum over rugs like the expensive name brand competitor so I have to stand on one end to hold the rug down due to the suction wanting to pickup the rug. 4. Doesn’t sit upright, must lean against a wall when it’s not hanging on the wall given it is too heavy. If you pause during vacuuming to pick something up etc. the thing may fall down while leaning against the wall. Takes a bit of experience to get the perfect, no-fall lean figured out.jessica.b

After more than a decade, my Powerforce 6579-3 finally fell apart enough to replace. I dreaded replacing it as I loved it. Maybe making it lighter with a longer cord could've made it better. Now I've got the Powerforce Helix. I'm glad I didn't throw away my old vacuum yet. I previously threw out a carpet cleaner and the replacement didn't come with the same accessories. The Helix was a bit the same way. The hose on the helix is lighter (good) and stiffer (bad) and doesn't extend as long as my previous one. Thankfully my old one fits so I'll use it. Also, the new extension and crevice tool are both shorter! The new one has an oval brush attachment. My old one had a triangular brush, to get into the corners and it could be rotated to use another triangular attachment for picking up stuff from flat surfaces. Because it could rotate, there were gaps in the pieces which lost suction, so that could've been improved. With pets, a crevise tool isn't as good as a brush tool for the corners. I'm glad all my old hose and attachments will still work. And, I found a way to fit all but the rotating brush attachment to the new unit. The new hose and attachment feel cheaper because less material was used. That makes them lighter and I'm sure they'll perform just as well. The old flexible hose could be a problem if something got stuck in the end as it would quickly contract to it's small size, pulling the unit, which could fall on you. Just vacuumed the house and it took a LOT less effort with the lighter weight. That push-button to empty the container at the bottom is brilliant! I would definitely recommend this vacuum. I also feel they made good design choices and removed previously good ones.Dan

Liked the price but isn’t a good vacuum so you get what you pay for. I’ve turned this into my “outdoor vacuum”, for my outdoor patio rug and bought a new one for my carpets. The main reason for not liking this is that it spits out debris and who wants that? It spits out debris worse when you use the attachments but does it when doing regular vacuuming as well. It also doesn’t have any sort of edge to edge cleaning to it and is actually quite bulky. New one purchased is much better it’s also by bissell and is more money but worth it. The bissell powerforce helix turbo rewind pet is the one. The only difference in the name is helix is included and somehow it’s so much better! It looks very similar but made better for sure and has the edge to edge technology I desire and it works fantastic! Unfortunately I had to purchase that 2nd vacuum because this one was just not good, however I’m fine with having an outdoor vacuum, now my outdoor rug stays cleaner and it’s ok for the debris for this reason only. The price was cheap so it wasn’t a total loss.Mary

1-1-2022: GOT THIS VACUUM NOVEMBER 2021 AND IN DECEMBER IT STARTED TO HAVE TROUBLES RUNNING OR WORKING SMOOTHLY. THE ROLLER WOULD FREEZE UP AND NOT WORK AT ALL. I am struggling financially but needed a vacuum and in looking for one I noticed prices were all so high but this one was not so bad and that worried me at first. I also appreciate and am grateful that the assembly was so very easy and thank you Bissell for sending it mostly all assembled already and providing easy simple and understandable instructions if needed. I am also happy that it is smaller and lightweight and easy to operate. I struggle with pain (back, shoulders and arms) so with this vacuum being lightweight it is easier to move and use. I am in a small place with very little options for storage for a vacuum, and this vacuum fits so nicely in a small coat closet, making it easily and quickly accessible. In operating this vacuum… yes it really does “suck” and “sucks” very well! I have two dogs and therefore my carpet is often very full of dog hair it seems and this vacuum sucked that up along with so much dirt that I did not know was there in the carpet. It made my carpet look so much better after I was done. Emptying the larger collection container is pretty simple and easy as well as taking it all apart for cleaning (and there are easy instructions on the vacuum for taking apart and putting it back together which is very helpful). I feel that it has a great design for the brush roller that meets the carpet. The only thing at this point that bothers me is the electrical cord is shorter than I wish but if that was a big problem I could just get an additional extension cord and add to it and keep it there with the vacuum. Overall, this vacuum is exactly what I needed and wanted so thank you for all (that I had just mentioned).Suzan

I really loved this vacuum with great features and a decent price point and it worked very well considering I have a dog that sheds a lot. Most of my flooring is hard surface and use(d) this primarily for doing the carpeted stairs, quick clean ups and under furniture. The hose on the power head tore a few months ago and I could not find a replacement for it, unless I purchased the entire power head which is almost as much as I paid for the whole vacuum. So, I used some Goop to glue the holes and it worked for a while but now so many segments are torn that the cannot be glued together anymore; still no replacement hose available. Disappointing.Scott

My husband and I are in our 80s with the usual arthritis and back problems. When we bought this vacuum we thought we had gone to Heaven early. It is so light and flexible and it gets under and around furniture so easily. The suction is terrific and emptying the canister is a snap. So we bought a second one for the other side of the house. The minute it arrived the first one would only run for less than a minute and then shut off. It was fully charged but still refused to work! I feel really let down by a product bearing the Eureka name. Eureka has been the name of choice for over 50 years in our household. Such a shame!Unhappy Senior

I JUST purchased this vacuum and am in love with it!! It worked incredibly!! I couldn't really believe… Like, finally, I just found the BEST for me vacuum. It's lightweight, it swivels, on high mode it kicked butt!! The extensions are so easy to put on/off… THERE IS NO CORD!! YAY!! I could probably say a whole lot more things that I love about this vacuum and the only thing I didn't love was how it doesn't stand up on it's own.. but no biggy, you can lean it somewhere, precariously.. Today I'm sad.. the battery lasted no time at all on the high mode, and having a dog, that was one of my the fav thing. on the medium mode, it's mediocre, seeing as I know what it CAN do.. I'm just recharging now, having to wait to do the last room of the house, the dogs room no doubt, and I'm going to need high mode.. it's just so disappointing I literally just got this thing yesterday, let it charge fully, and then I got to play around with it and all the extensions last night, cleaning my bedroom ceiling, the blinds, etc.. now on DAY 2 it lasted maybe 5 min on high mode.. and it was charged.. it takes a while to charge, don't even know if mine works? The bottom dot just flashes for ever, then after a while I look at it, and no lights are on so i disconnect the charger, put it back in, and nope still a blinking light… I'm so disappointed..Khrista

I just moved into a new apartment and have saved up for this Dyson and it was the best decision I have made. My new place is a 2 bed/2 bath apartment with mostly hard floors and carpets in the bedroom. After going to Dyson’s website and taking their quiz. First, I have to suggest going through Dyson’s website to purchase and not through a 3rd party (Amazon, Target, etc). Dyson offers a price match, you are ensured a warranty, if you wish to get additional attachments, you can know you are getting the correct ones. Next, after know about what model and price point I needed, I was able to look at each machine and pick out the best that would work for me, my cleaning routine, and my home. My Dyson came with so many different attachments (included!!!) but the reason I chose this one was it had different heads for one for each type of flooring, carpet or hard floors. I can remove the wand to make the attachments handheld to clean my couch, add it and a soft bristle head to clean the walls and the top corners next to my ceiling. I could go on and on. This isn’t a vacuum… this has replaced so many different tools I used to clean and, above all, my favorite part, as new apartments can come some lingering bugs, I take the head off and can stay far enough away and still catch and dump the creepy-crawlies. It is my new bug killing machine. As I said, I could write a novel about how much I love this Dyson. It was worth every penny.heather.n

First of all; I have a DC33 for almost 10 years and it is still working excellent, I had repaired a minor cosmetic issue but this is a great tool from Dyson. I really appreciate the thoughtful design of these machines and everything that Dyson produces. This is an outstanding company. Now, we bought the V8 Absolute and we are even more impressed with such beautiful design, with such a great details and mostly with the efficiency of a Dyson. The quality of the VB-Absolute is visible and tangible; this is a great investment and a great tool to implement in our home. I got a V7 in Jan 2019. Initially, and for about 1.5 yrs., I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then my housecleaner told me a charge didn't last more than 10 mins. Because I have another plug-in vacuum, I didn't think much of it at the time. Then I hired another cleaner. She brought her own vacuum so it hasn't been used at all since Jan 2022. Just in the last week, I tried to use it and it only lasted about 30 seconds. I had a very good experience with the website and service person on the phone but I have been advised that a new battery is necessary. If that is correct, I must say that I am disappointed in Dyson. I expected better performance from their machine. For a machine that is 3 1/2 yrs. old and only used perhaps 2 years of that (and not solely because I have another machine), I think the battery should last longer. And, if the cost of the battery is 1/4 of the price of the machine, I think that is even more disappointing. And, it's the cost of the battery + shipping. My carpenter husband has battery powered tools, uses them consistently and has never had to replace a battery. That knowledge doesn't help me. Is it possible that the charging station is defective? At any rate, as much as I loved it in the beginning, I'm pretty unhappy at present. I recommended my vacuum to lots of friends at first but now, I would have to tell them the whole story and what to expect.Bren

This vacuum is the worst vacuum I have ever used. I had the Dyson upright and loved it, but when it was time to replace it we decided to try the canister, because we believed it would be more convenient. For starters, this vacuum does not have a power head, it is a suction head and so if the vacuum loses the slightest amount of suction the brush does not rotate. The hole which connects the floor attachment to the hose is slightly smaller than a marble so it constantly clogs. I have spent more time unclogging this vacuum than any other vacuum I've owned. This vacuum does not clean – it is a very expensive floor duster. We have cats so from time-to-time I will find small pieces of cat kibble on the floor – the vacuum does not pick it up. The list of things this vacuum does not pick up is seemingly endless, but here are a few examples: coffee grounds individual staples crushed egg shells, lint, small pieces of dried leaves in the fall small pieces of paper fine needles from artificial Christmas trees and garland bits of thread bits of wool dried flower petals tiny bits of mud from shoes I've tried vacuuming the cars with this vacuum, but it does not have the suction to pick up the tiny little pieces of lint that collect on the upholstery and floors. Basically, anything larger than sand or dust, this vacuum does not pick up. If you place the vacuum head right over the small item you are trying to vacuum up sometimes you will get lucky and it will pick it up, but if you vacuum up anything larger than a couple of pieces of cat food – the connection between the vacuum head and the hose gets clogged. I have had this vacuum since August 2018 and dread using it every time. I have unclogged it so many time the tip where you insert the screw driver to release the brush from the head is starting to wear. Last night I had enough of this over-priced, novelty item – I was decorating the house for Christmas and had remnants of artificial pine needles all over the floor – the vacuum clogged five times where the vacuum head attaches to the hose and twice where the hose attaches to the canister. After nearly 40 minutes of vacuuming and unclogging the vacuum, I finally dug our old $149 Canadian Tire Shark vacuum out of the storage room and had the floor clean in less than five minutes with no clogs. A $650 vacuum should at the very least be able to compete with a Canadian Tire $149 special. After the nightmare and waste of time I had last night trying to vacuum my living room – I finally had enough with this vacuum and I am dropping it off at the electronic recyclers. This was without a doubt the worst purchase I have ever made. I kept it for two years, because of the cost of it and I didn't want to throw away $650, but I literally cannot deal with this vacuum any longer. I really liked the Dyson upright – it was a bit heavy and cumbersome to use and it was very awkward to vacuum stairs, but it picked up everything I needed it to and it very, very rarely clogged. There is absolutely no comparison between the canister and the upright! I have called customer service and did all the trouble shooting tips, I washed the filter and then bought a replacement filter when that failed. If you have to vacuum more than dust from your floors – do not buy this vacuum. If you are insistent on purchasing a Dyson vacuum – go with the upright!NatalieF

This vacuum makes other vacuumes seem like garbage created in back alleys by neanderthals that started a vacuum business, like they're lies an imitation of vacuum technology. Stop wasting your money on hundred and something dollar vacuums every year or two and hating them the whole time as they don't really clean your floor cuz their suction never really sucked and you sit on the floor and unclog them all the time. Just buy this vacuum! they have a 14 day full refund return policy if you don't feel it is superior enough to be worth its price tag believe me it is. Check on price match. if it's not on sale haven't seen it for more than $100 off. Might think it's crazy to spend so much but it's that much better the other ones are crap made by tricky robbers. Sure it is an investment but you will be so blown away by the quality of how well it works I bet you won't return it and you'll see it as an investment because you know how the other ones just break so might as well invest and have it last for 5 years and enjoy your vacuuming experience. Easy to use everything's in its place simple powerful puts other vacuums to shame it should be illegal to sell the other vacuums it's literally like stealing your money whenever you compare it to this vacuum. a vacuum is an investment that should work well that helps keep your family healthy and safe it shouldn't break every couple years like the last few uprights I bought I also feel like the fact this is a canister vacuum is just a much better design as well but I think any Dyson is going to just bring it as far as vacuuming goes the other vacuums literally do not seem like Vacuums in comparison I can't stress that enough. It looks like it's kind of big in the picture but it's not it's nice and Compact but has a big enough canister and it's got handles where it should and slots for everything and all the attachments you would need without going overboard secure don't fall off when you're not using them which has happened with the attachments on other vacuums quite annoying. I mean you will want to vacuum more if you have this vacuum you will want to clean your floor completely just to see it like clean stuff it is fun too use! It is bafflingly silent it is the quietest vacuum on the planet you could probably vacuum with this vacuum in the same room with a sleeping person and the person would not wake up. Almost forgot whenever you vacuum and you maybe vacuumed up something that might be a little larger such as a penny let's say and you know how you usually hear the penny kind of Slam around the corner is it goes in this literally doesn't Slam at all it just gets vacuumed in it doesn't sound like it's getting hit at all or damaging your vacuum in anyway which is very comforting the vacuum is doing its job not asking you to pre clean smaller items before you vacuum.Zeldarocks

I’ve had mine for three years and I love it as much as when I first got it. I have to say this works best for hardwoods or other hard flooring. I got one for my mom and her housekeeper said it hurt jar back but she used it for carpets. I wouldn’t recommend it for that. If they advertised it for wood floors I think it would have a rating of 5 stars. I have all hard flooring and it is fantastic. It basically dusts the floor with the rotary tool. It just glides behind me with little or no effort. It has so much reach. It cleans everywhere, cracks, corners, underneath the bed, ceiling fans. I can vacuum the house in no time. To me it is so much better than the stick vacs. You don’t have to hold the weight and you can do the entire house and never loose power. I would definitely recommend this for hard floors!!!LisaSt

We have a German Shepard that sheds like mad all year long. One could build another dog out of all the fur he sheds! We purchased the Bissell Crosswave a few weeks ago and I am thoroughly impressed. Our area rugs have never been cleaner (they are dark blue so the fur REALLY shows!). And it's so easy and convenient to use. The canister is easy to remove and empty. The wand is easy to take off and use for those nooks and crannies with the slim tool (which has a handy brush that slides up for dusting). Setting the height level while vacuuming works like a dream. With our old vac you had to turn off the vac to adjust the height. It has amazing suction. The power cord is nice and long so you don't have to keep moving it to a different outlet to reach. It's the best vacuum I've ever used on bare floors as well. It doesn't shoot the debris around but actually picks it up! The inside of the canister has removable parts that can be rinsed off as well which is a nice feature as here in Arizona it's very dusty. If I could give more stars, I definitely would!Kaarin

I have a German Shepherd who is very floofy. I narrowed down my choices between the Bissell CleanView® Rewind Pet Vacuum Cleaner ad the Dyson Animal II. I have had 2 Dysons before. The feature that made me decide on the Bissell is that it has an adjustment dial for 5 different brush heights so whatever you are vacuuming can be done effortlessly with just the right amount of suction regardless of the surface – tile, this rug, p[lush carpet etc. I have tile, carpets and rugs. The other strong selling point was the included upholstery attachment, which works like a dream on dog hair. The only thing I feel that could be improved is the length of the electrical cord. It's not very long so I have to unplug it and plug in at a different area of my larger rooms. Other than that I love the CleanView® Rewind Pet Vacuum Cleaner ! #sweepstakesTracy

I had no idea that my carpets, my floors, my home was THAT bad until I used this incredible cleaning machine! I knew my old vacuum (also a Bissel) was needing replaced, and the suction on it still worked well but it had some other issues so I decided to buy a new vacuum, Boy oh boy am I glad that I did! After vacuuming my no carpeted floors with this vacuum, they looked like I had just mopped them! It picks up pet hair like a pro! I love how the canister opens up at the bottom with just the push of a button, no mess, no fuss! And one of my other favorite features of this vacuum is the self wind up cord! What a time saver and back saver! I get so tired of winding the cord up. Also it makes it easier to bring from room to room without having to trail a cord behind you or get caught up in it! Yes, I love this vacuum! It works so good that if ever the makers of Bissell came to me and asked me to do a commercial for them, not only would I do it, I do it for free!
