I have tried other Volumizing and texturising powders and thought it worked well, until I tried this one and it's absolutely trumped the others. The main other powder I had used to become micro dust in the air, so bad that I had to hold my breath to apply and run. This big sexy hair one is less of a sticky resin, more of a soft flour in feel. It's meant to be fragrance free, which was important as my husband is allergic to strong fragrances. It has a very very subtle pineapple scent that is lovely, but doesn't linger so my hubby is happy. The white powder doesn't show up white on my brunette hair, it isn't too sticky feeling and it makes my hair bounce up nice and high after a fresh wash. I have dead straight, silky, fine hair, so it can look super limp after a wash. But now when I use this product at the roots it looks twice as thick and I now I feel like it looks just as nice as when I curl it. I can't praise it enough. I have a very thick ponytail however my hair is super fine so my hair is usually limp and lifeless. It has been very difficult to really do anything fun with my hair until I tried this powder! Now, I have incredible volume and even I can make my hair look like I came from the salon. For starters, the product is a super fine powder and a very little goes a long way. My first use I really overdid it and ended up wasting a bunch of product. It dispenses nice "puffs" out of a controlled nozzle dispenser so it's easy to put right where you need or want it. It smells very light and heavenly fresh too. I would describe the smell as clean. Even though the powder itself is white, it becomes translucent on the hair and can not be seen. The volume and texture it adds is really incredible! It lifts the hair right at the roots and manages to keep it up all day! If you swish your hair around with your fingers, it lifts it up even more. It's really amazing when you have to go right from a day look to a night look. At first, I thought it was a bit too heavy, but I realized that I was using way too much product. Once I got the amount right, my hair felt (and looked) incredible. This is an absolute MUST if you put your hair up! It just gives your hair that gorgeous, voluminous and lifted look that you see all over IG. It aslo helps hold the style too while still being able to move your hair. No stiffness at all. I'll also add that I'm really pleased at how well this will wash out of my hair. It doesn't build up a residue or make your hair feel gross. It simply washes right out. This is my first time trying Verb and I am happy to report I love this hair plumping product! I've tried a bunch of different hair volumizing products. My biggest complaints are that many of them have a strong smell, leave a grimy feel on your roots or they just don't work. I've even found some I really like but the smell gives me a headache. I pumped a little Verb Volume Texture Powder on the underside of my roots and zuzzed it in. Then added Verb's Volume Dry Texture Spray to the rest of my hair. Full disclosure: I got this product free in exchange for a review. But I will purchase this product when I’m out. Here’s why: it smells clean and fresh without being an overpowering scent. The pumps dispenses the right amount of product preventing accidentally over applying, so my hair doesn’t feel gunky. It adds natural looking volume without leaving white residue, and without using an aerosol, and my hair doesn’t lay in an odd way that can happen with hair spray or texture putty. I’m including two pictures. The first one is using it on the right side of the picture, and the amount of volume my hair still had on that side after 12 hours. It also helped second day curls hold their curl on that side, whereas the left side was flat by the end of the day. The second picture is me using the texture powder on fishtail braids, and it worked so well to add volume to make those cute puffy braids I’m always seeing on Instagram. Over lockdown I grew my hair out like a lot of people and decided to go to for a traditional barber cut afterwards ending up with a slick back style. I found my existing hair products a bit lacking so decided to look into getting more professional (if you will) products. After some research I liked the look of Uppercut's products and also their brand ideals and after browsing their site settled on the Matte Pomade. Now that I've been using it for a while and figured out the best amount and application for my hair I'm really pleased with it. It's light and not too shiny giving my hair a natural look which I really like. It also washes out well with water meaning I don't have to put my hair through shampooing every day but still working without making my hair greasy or limp a couple of days after shampooing. I do find I need to hold the sides with some hairspray but that could be down to my hair or inexperience in styling longer hair (any plans for adding hairspray to your range?). Just on a side note, I was sent a really handy little guide with the product that gave scores out of 10 for hold and shine for all the styling products which was much more helpful than the info on the site in my opinion. Seems quite effective in adding volume for men with a finer hair type and looking for a product that does that. Could be re-applied intra-day if desired or needed, as it is to be applied to dry hair rather than wet. I would say this also means it doesn't really combine or work very well if you try to add it after using another styling product (say you wanting it just to add more volume for example). It functions more as a standalone product from what I've found. Because it has a less firm hold it should work well for those after something to allow a looser natural-looking style and adding volume at the same time, less so for those who want a style that needs a more controlled styling product with a firmer hold to pull off.Luke

If I could rate this 10 stars,I would. This powder is AMAZING. Best volumizing product I have ever used. It's super cheap, my hair does not fall flat after an hour, I'll wake up the next morning after using it and still have volume, it's insane! I will say it does cause a weird texture to the hair and makes it almost feel sticky and rough, but it does not look like it at all. It's a white powder, but I have even used it while my hair was a brunette color and it blended easily unlike some dry shampoos that are white etc. It is also super easy to apply and while this bottle may look small, it lasts months. This product would have been great except the powder does not land on your head when it comes out of the bottle. Seriously. As soon as you spray it (and I tried from every angle and distance), the powder flies away from your hair, not onto your hair. A little might land on it, but not enough to really do the job, and the rest is wasted becoming dust in the wind.purpledancer01

If you need your hair to stay but don't want the separation that gels or waxes tend to provide … then this is perfect. My pixie-short hair has not been cut in 12 weeks … thank you COVID … gah … and this product gives it amazing lift. With the addition of a small amount of holding spray … my hair doesn't look 3 months old. I think this would be perfect to add crown volume on even longer hair. It does have an odd tacky texture to it if you touch it … not that there is anything wrong with that. My niece (a stylist) recommended this highly. I got a haircut from my sister-in-law today and when she was cutting my flat, lifeless bangs she pulled this stuff out. Spritzed it on, used a round brush to dry my bangs back out and boom, instant lift. Um, it's still got lift almost 9 hours later! I have run my hands through my hair too many times to count, pulled it down flat and then ran my hands back through it, still had lift! I bought a bottle from her at the salon and I can't wait to use this stuff again. I have struggled for so long to find something I can use to lift my bangs, especially after flat ironing. This stuff is amazing – please never stop stocking! It gives great texture and volume and a little goes a long way. The formula is genius – liquid that turns into a powder. Before this, my beloved texturising spray was Loreal Wildstylers Next Day Hair – but they discontinued which broke my heart. I searched high and low until I found this – and I think its actually better. Love this stuff. Female with fine/thin hair and struggle with volume and hair getting greasy within a day. This stuff at my roots has allows me to go 3-4 days without washing my hair instead of every other day. It makes your roots somewhat grainy feeling but I don’t mind. Comes out white powder puff but you can’t see it in your hair at all once you work it into your hair. What I love the most is that I can fluff my roots with my fingers throughout the day with a sudden boost of volume that holds for hours. I’ve spent 10 years trying mousses and sprays for root volume and texture. This is the answer. FINALLY. Something that works! My hair looks great. No smell either which is nice.Peter C.

The spray doesn't hold for long in humid weather conditions but it does give the hair a little volume. I was hoping for a more dramatic look with this product since the price is too steep, but i was disappointed. Also, the bottle is too small, will likely end in 3 or 4 uses (and I have really really short chin-length hair, won't even last that long for people with longer hair). This is literally THE best texturizing product that I've ever used. I've tried everything in all different price ranges- including the very expensive Oribe texture spray-this wins hands down. I have fine thin hair and many sprays or texturizing powders weigh my hair down or make it sticky. This product works perfectly to give me lift and texture without being too sticky. I will definitely say though a little goes a long way and it's very buildable. I literally panicked when the company told me they were discontinuing this product. Please don't discontinue it. For anyone with thin hair, this is truly a remarkable product. As stated in my title a little goes a long way. One thing I really like is it leaves no white residue and seemingly “melts” into your hair. Even if too much is worked in I find that I can brush out any stiffness with a wide tooth comb, and start over. Truly this has been a game changer for my dark, thin hair. I gave this 3 stars only because of the new delivery system with the bulky pump. Actually I was being generous. I have been buying this for years with the smaller bottle that fit nicely in my travel bag and was easier to control the amount used. I could sprinkle it on my fingers and more accurately place the product where I wanted it for lift and body. With the pump, I have no control of the amount dispensed so it makes my hair look dull and dry. If I try to spray it on my fingers it goes EVERYWHERE! And the new bottle is VERY bulky for travel. Wasted plastic packaging! I love the product, hate the pump. I even opened an old bottle and poured the contents of the pump bottle into it. Maybe some people like to use a lot of the product in their hair and like the pump. But for those of us with shorter hair, perhaps you could also offer it in the old shaker bottle. I put this in ONCE a week ago when I purchased it and I still can not get it out of my hair. I’ve washed close to 20 times, 3 different shampoos, a bar of soap and dishwashing liquid and it’s still in my hair. Ten years ago, working in a Regis salon, I was testing new products and ran across this miraculous powder. I love that dry shampoo extends washings for days. This is like dry shampoo times ten.
