This little cream is like a magic elixir for those of us suffering with dry, sensitive (hormonal) skin. It’s so very soothing and hydrates so deeply. It doesn’t sit on the surface of the skin like so many other products marketed to dry skin. It actually sinks in and makes your skin feel more balanced and noticeably softer to the touch. Plus, there is no scent, which is such an added bonus. It wears very well under makeup with no pilling. Instead, I feel it helps my makeup to glide on easier as my face is prepped. It’s such a good price as well. For us in Canada a 40ml tube is 40$ which is so economical considering what I usually pay for skin care. It’s helped my skin so much this winter as we’ve been in lockdown and stuck inside with the heat on all day. Sometimes, in the evenings I just take a big blob of cream and massage it into my face for 20 minutes and I feel like I’ve had a mini facial. It really is a lovely product. I am 24 years old and I always have rashes on one cheek, especially before menstruation. I accidentally bought this cream in a pharmacy and used it in the morning and at night. Full disclosure I was entirely prepared to hate this and give it a bad review as it wouldn’t work for me like most others didn’t but I’m so glad I was proved wrong. I’m someone who is sooo picky when it comes to moisturizers because I always hated how thick and oily they felt on my skin. While I do have combination leaning oily skin I was a bit apprehensive on its claims but I truly 100% am loving this. It is super lightweight which is something I always try to find in any moisturizer because I need for it to be lifht right AND effective. It sinks into your skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling wet at all. Makes true on its fragrance free promise bc i can’t smell a thing and my skins gotten a bit more sensitive as I got older so that’s great! I’ve been wearing it as my moisturizer under my makeup and I really like how it feels. I think this is something I’ll end up repurchasing as I like the amount you get is quite decent plus the price point is good. I like that it’s in a squeeze tube more than a pump too!stephanie.v
First impression when unboxing: The box and bottle are the same as the traditional packaging, simple, effective, pleasing to the eye. I opened the flip cap and took a whiff, there’s a light scent that reminds me of tanning lotion/sunscreen (kind of like that cooking bacon-esque scent). I read other reviews saying that a little goes a long way so I squeezed out a pea sized amount. The formula is super light, and is a water gel consistency (which made me nervous for the mattifying factor). I started with the back of my hand to see a comparison. A little definitely went a long way, and traveled up my entire forearm. I compared my hands and the hand with the product was significantly less shiny, and all of the cracks (it’s cold and dry where I am at the moment) were blurred. I tried it on my face and it definitely mattified my oily areas, but I wasn’t sure how hydrated I was. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave behind a film, but at the touch it felt like I didn’t have anything on and felt like I needed to reapply. When I did reapply though, it felt like I overused product so it definitely achieved its claim to fame. It’s not my holy grail but I’ll definitely use the whole tube especially since it didn’t break out my sensitive/acne prone skin.julia.s
I'm not particularly wowed by this product, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I do think this moisturizer lives up to its claims – matte finish, good for oily/combo skin types. My skin used to run on the oily side until I really got into skincare. Now my skin is more normal, though still acne prone.I've been using this moisturizer daily, AM PM. it does the job, but I don't mind a more hydrated look, hell, even feeling more hydrated would be nice too – something I'm not really getting with this moisturizer. If you like a more matte moisturizer, then this one is for you. Texture reminds me of a gel-cream, so not the sticky jelly texture like some gel moisturizers.The design of the cap also isnt the best. one of the two attachments broke after only 2 uses. they're too wide set apart from each other compared to other squeeze tubes that I use. Ive been waiting to review this product because I just wasnt sure about it. If I could, Id give it 3.5 stars. Let me start by saying I have very problematic skin. My skin is super dry and easily irritated. A lot of moisturizers exacerbate my skin problems. I chose this because I thought the oil free formula might give my skin the breathing room it needs. Unfortunately, the product is refreshing but not at all moisturising. If my skin is dry and I apply it, my skin still looks dry and flaky a few minutes after application. It is necessary to use another moisturizer. Luckily, the dramatically different moisturising lotion came in a grab bag I purchased at the same time and I loved it. Ended up buying a large bottles as I was burning through the 50 ml.I use a hyaluronic acid serum under my moisturizer in the evenings, and the hydrating jelly feels a lot like that product. Indeed, hyaluronic acid is one of the key ingredients. If you think of this product as a serum, then its good bang for your buck. Or, if you have oily skin, this could definitely be a good product for you. Ive also tried applying it in the morning under my tinted moisturizer which works okay. However, the jelly does leave behind a slightly sticky residue that is more noticeable when other products are added on top. LISTEN I’ve tried DOZENS of moisturizers for my greasy, oily skin and this one is one of the only ones that doesn’t leave my skin looking like my face was just soaked in oil yet still hydrates and smoothens out my pores and texture. Not sticky at all and it just feels comfortable. Other moisturizers end up feeling greasy after 1-2 hours. This one just feels so clean and absorbs soooo well into the skin. I probably have the most oily skin in the world so trust me when I say this stuff actually controls oil it’s crazy. My skin is olive/tan with hyperpigmentation, acne scars from years ago, large pores, and horomonal acne…the most difficult skin to deal with especially around my period because I get a lot of hormonal breakouts (white heads and cysts). Trust me this stuff is amazing. Just for reference other moisturizers that have also worked for me are the neutrogena hydroboost gel and the drunk elephant peptide something. I have really oily skin and this moisturizing gel works for me. I was hesitant to try Clinique moisturizer again after having a horrible experience with the original lotion a few years ago (I broke out so badly I actually have a few small scars and bumps to this day). But this is very different from the lotion IMO. The gel texture is light and refreshing and doesn’t exacerbate my oily skin; also totally unscented. It’s not mattifying exactly but it doesn’t make extra shine. When I wake up my skin looks and feels soft, not super greasy like most night creams I have tried. I use the Sephora mattifying moisturizer on my face during the day and use this gel on my neck and the two small dry patches I have on my chin. I haven't reviewed anything on here yet, but this product really seems worth a review. I have an annoying combination skin that both gets dry/flaky AND oily/shiny. This moisturizers works like a charm, giving my skin hydration and controlling shine on my nose. I have no idea how they formulate this product to achieve this monumental task, but they somehow managed to do it. I used to be able to only control the shine on my nose by putting on powder, but with this moisturizer, I don't even need to put on any powder, and my nose still does not get excessively shiny. I highly recommend this for anyone who is struggling with shiny skin due to oil. Also, I noticed that, in the winter, when the air is particularly dry, this moisturizer doesn't give quite enough moisture, so now I complement it with the FAB Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration at night. That gives my skin the extra moisture at night, and then I use this product in the morning. Together, they give my skin enough hydration in the winter while still controlling the shine. I know I sound like some sort of paid spokesperson, but this is just me being excited about a line of products that actually works for my skin.Luce
I'm really enjoying this product. It does what it says, moisturizes while controlling oil. My skin gets even more oily when I'm not wearing makeup and I hate the way it feels. I can go a day without makeup with this product and it's really nice. It definitely provides a light moisture too. I get dryness around my eyes and mouth and nose. If you let this fully dry before applying makeup, you'll be fine. Primer is a key factor as well. I use a the smash box matte primer. If you need more moisturizer, just use a moisturizing primer for dry areas and you'll be good. Worth a try.MR
I have an extremely oily complexion and never thought i could keep my oil under control throughout the day while also keeping my skin hydrated until i tried this moisturizer. For reference, without this moisturizer my skin turns into a grease bucket after 15 minutes of washing and this moisturizer makes my complexion look completely normal for about 4-8 hours depending on my skin that day. Once my face starts to build up a bit of oil after many hours, i can just pat it off and be good for another couple hours before patting any oil off again. Lasts a full days wear. I also find when i dont use this moisturizer my acne and blackheads start coming out and also my pores become bigger without it, showing just how much it actually helps my acne/blackhead prone and large pored-skin. I hope they never discontinue this moisturizer otherwise i will never be able to make my skin complexion look as normal as this makes it throughout the day. Also this is also super moisturizing for my skin surprisingly and i never dry out from it. The product actually does exactly what it says it does which is control oil and moisturize which is rare for a product to really live up to all of its claims. I have dry to normal skin type, I feel this is so thick moistuizer such that I get sweating and it is sticky. It is suitable for very dry skin and suitable for night routine. I love the ingredients in it and I use for only night routine as the last and final step.(I feel this is best for only PM routine) I can't use this for morning routine as it is thick and doesn't let any products on top of it for example: sunscreens (I used both mineral and chemical sunscreens) which is a must for AM routine, sunscreens doesn't blend with this product. Kindly make changes to product description (suitable for very dry skin, less is more (dry , normal, oily skin types)and suitable/best for night routine). Best stuff I've ever chosen to "try". I've had acne prone/oily/dry skin since my early 20's. I have used EVERYTHING out there to help clear it up. Nothing worked. Or something would help the acne, but completely dry my skin out that it literally hurt to smile. Neutrogena hydro boost was what she gave me to use that day. I first noticed after I applied it to my face, neck and décolletté, how velvety my skin felt. And it was as if my skin just drank it up! Like it really needed it. So I applied a little more. Went to bed, woke up the next morning- my skin looked and felt totally different. No fabrication. No exaggeration. The texture was different. I had a glow. And even my acne wasn't as red, or aggitated looking. And had seemed actually slightly minimized. I began using it from that day forward and my cystyc acne has ceased, my skin is supple, clear, brightened. All I can think is that this moisturizer some how balanced the pH levels in my skin. So this gonna be my honesh review regarding this cream lil bit lengthy .. So when I used this moisturizer So after continue 3 days usage thier was tiny bumps near my chin and jaw line and cheeks area I was scared thought might be due to of other products so I stopped using this and then after 1 week again started with simple routine with zero actives Facewash- toner – moisturizer ( 15 days ) it suited my skin and as promising it moisturized skin so well this winter After 15 days start using my vitc active with it and yes it worked completely fine with it . And now after 1 moths usage I can say that it worked really well for my skin So I wanna say skin care is subjective and some people might face issue with it because might it not have with the other products they are using so you have to give it a try . Fact : oily skin types it might be really heavy for you during summers so you can use it during winter times. Good moisturizer for normal dry combination skin for winters but not might be extra helpful too extremely dry skin you have to layer it up with another moisturizer or hydrating serum. Okay so it took me a bit to realize you shouldn’t be using this as the last step of moisturizing unless your skin is very oily. This is meant to provide moisture not retain and keep it in like most moisturizers. Which is fine because the effect when I use it more like a serum is amazing!! Plump and a glass skin like texture that looks hydrated without being oily! It also smells legitimately like a watermelon unlike most artificial scents. I like that it comes in a nice glass bottle and have already purchased again in various sizes after I received it as a gift the first time. I will say it is quite overpriced due to the amount you get and how much you can go through but the product itself is worth it so I took off one star. For context, I've been using this moisturizer all summer. I purchased the mini watermelon moisturizer and have used almost the entire bottle. I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and I had tried different creams and such to bring moisture back to my skin but nothing was really working. I use 1-1.5 pumps of this moisturizer twice daily and it has made a huge difference in my skin texture. Before I had patches of dryness which affected my foundation application but not anymore. Yes it's a gel moisturizer so it's not a heavy moisturizer but it does compliment other products, NO pilling when used with other products and my skin is more glowy now! Love the smell and that its very light weight, almost like a serum. I have oily skin most of the time (sometimes combo) but last year for a short time I suddenly had dry flaky & itchy skin patches and found out I suffered from skin dermatitis. Being sensitive to a lot of ingredients, I started researching skin care products & their list of ingredients to find something more natural and safer for my skin. This hit the mark, so I ordered from Sephora to try it out. This is fantastic that it doesn't make me oilier or feeling greasy on my oily days ( a little drop, 1 to 2 pumps goes a long way). I honestly use it as a serum most of the time for my nighttime routine, as it's so lightweight, I can add a moisturizer over it without getting greasy. I really feel like it gives me a nice brighter & naturally light from within kinda glow to my skin, without feeling like my skin is too dewy/shiny (being that I usually have oily or combo skin, I don't want added shine, so this is just perfect!) and it helps soften my skin too. I can't say it reduces redness though (at first I felt like it did, but not so much anymore, but for the smell, the moisturizing/softness, brightness and glow, I do love this!) As for that dermatitis issue of severe dryness I was having when I started with this product, within a week it went away with this serum! This little cream is like a magic elixir for those of us suffering with dry, sensitive (hormonal) skin. It’s so very soothing and hydrates so deeply. It doesn’t sit on the surface of the skin like so many other products marketed to dry skin. It actually sinks in and makes your skin feel more balanced and noticeably softer to the touch. Plus, there is no scent, which is such an added bonus. It wears very well under makeup with no pilling. Instead, I feel it helps my makeup to glide on easier as my face is prepped. It’s such a good price as well. For us in Canada a 40ml tube is 40$ which is so economical considering what I usually pay for skin care. It’s helped my skin so much this winter as we’ve been in lockdown and stuck inside with the heat on all day. Sometimes, in the evenings I just take a big blob of cream and massage it into my face for 20 minutes and I feel like I’ve had a mini facial. It really is a lovely product. I am 24 years old and I always have rashes on one cheek, especially before menstruation. I accidentally bought this cream in a pharmacy and used it in the morning and at night. I am very surprised that the cream coped with the rashes in two weeks and now I have only traces left! This is just a super cream for the last 3 years! This is an amazing moisturizer for combination skin and acne-prone skin! The texture was really nice and felt great on the skin; it's light but moisturizing and doesn't weigh the skin down (you'll forget you were wearing it!) My bottle has lasted quite a while which goes to say that a little goes a long way with this product! I will say because it doesn't have the thickest coverage, I'm not sure how this would fare with people with drier skin types, so I only used this at night before bed during the winter. This moisturizer is considered for sensitive skin that has a very lightweight texture, however, I have noticed that putting it on a damp skin can be really irritating, it burns the skin. So after cleansing your skin make sure it’s not damp to avoid burning sensation. My skin took a month and a half to adjust to it, however, I still sometimes get that burning sensation. Although I still cannot understand why it had that burning effect, my guess is probably a damaged skin barrier.. but who knows.. Also this moisturizer doesn’t have any specific scent, it’s fragrance free which is good for people with sensitive skin. And it is oil-free and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores. When I first started using this moisturizer a few years ago I loved it. My recent purchase of this moisturizer hasn't been the best. I'm not sure if an ingredient has been added but I'm even more oily after I apply it. I started having continuous breakouts all over my face (cheeks, jawline, between eyebrows & forehead) for a month. I thought it was stress and other things. I decided to eliminate this product from my skincare routine just to see if it would help. My skin immediately started clearing up. I believe it's a good product just not for oily, sensitive & acne prone skin. I also noticed my make-up looking terrible by the end of the day. In the morning it would be fine, during mid-day I look like a oil stick. Today was my second day not using it under my makeup & my face is not oily at all & it still looks fresh! My pores no longer feel clogged! I still love the Farmacy brand & will continue to purchase other skincare items! I'm just praying my review will help you all come up with another moisturizer that's a little lighter, less clogging of the pores and less fragrances and ingredients.
The new formula ruined this moisturizer for me. I had a subscription and was obsessed with the original formula. The smell was the most amazing and refreshing scent. I always felt like I was transported to a tropical island, and applying it was my favorite part of my skincare routine. The scent just lifted me up and relaxed me. Now, the new formula has zero scent. The whole experience is non-existent for me as a result. The original formula also just felt better on my skin overall. I could even apply it right over and around my eye area, and never experienced any irritation. It actually helped soothe my eyes. The new formula burns! I’m so disappointed that the formula was changed so drastically. I really just hate this moisturizer now. It’s nothing like the original, which was my holy grail and addiction for years. If you’ve ever found a moisturizer you truly love everything about, then you know the devastation of not being able to get it anymore and how hard it is to find a replacement. I wish they would’ve kept the original formula as at least another option, but it seems to be gone for good. Huge mistake, Farmacy. I’ve been an avid user for years. The formula was perfect and never broke out my sensitive skin. UNTIL they changed the formula. I just purchased a new package and to say the difference is huge is a massive understatement. Whereas previously the moisturizer perfectly absorbed into my skin and truly had the oil free dewy glow you want, the new one adds this weird layer on top of your skin that just….sits there. It’s kind of sticky like it hasn’t fully absorbed and, this sounds dramatic, but it feels like it’s clogging my pores immediately. Like when you use a bad sunscreen, or a bad lotion in a pinch, and when you sweat you can feel that layer of sweat trying to come out but can’t and it just feels gross? Yeah. That’s how it feels almost immediately and then subsequently the rest of the day. You’re just sitting there not sweating and your face can’t breath or dry feeling. It gets worse, especially if you do end up outside and sweating. Needless to say, my sensitive skin that I actually had under continuous control for almost two years now looks like a battle zone with all kinds of breakouts coming up even in areas I don’t usually get them, like my neck. Y’all, I’m telling you, skip this “upgraded” product. It had to be a change for money purposes because it was NOT for the benefit of the skin when they had a previously perfect product. My skin is suffering during winter time, so I tried this serum, and it helped me to keep my skin more moisturized. The smell was good. I’ve been using this product for about 3-4 weeks now, and for me it resulted in severe breakouts and clogged pores! I have combination skin, but do not tend to have acne problem at all, so this kind of reaction is very unusual to me. It also is a terrible base for make up, my base just doesn’t blend and turns into a very unbuildable and weird texture. I also tried different make up products just to understand what is the problem, and the result was the same with any of them… Another problem is it’s smell – although it is quite pleasant, I would say it’s way more long lasting and strong that it has to be for a moisturizer.Polina

This is everything I look for in a gel cream. First I really like that it is lightweight and not oily. I feel comfortable putting this on my face and neck, there is no sticky or grease-y residue. I also like that there is no odor. Putting cream on your face, the scent is very important and this product does a great job compared to others with having almost no scent. I like that this also works well and dries quickly – I can finish my morning routine of putting sunscreen on without having to wait a while for this to soak in. I have combination skin and it does not make me break out or cause any irritation on my skin. I like that it provides hydration without feeling heavy, especially in the summer the light weight feel of the product is perfect for hot days. It is easy to apply and I don't feel like I need to wash my hands after applying, I just rub any access, if any, on my skin and it absorbs all of the product. This little cream is like a magic elixir for those of us suffering with dry, sensitive (hormonal) skin. It’s so very soothing and hydrates so deeply. It doesn’t sit on the surface of the skin like so many other products marketed to dry skin. It actually sinks in and makes your skin feel more balanced and noticeably softer to the touch. Plus, there is no scent, which is such an added bonus. It wears very well under makeup with no pilling. Instead, I feel it helps my makeup to glide on easier as my face is prepped. It’s such a good price as well. For us in Canada a 40ml tube is 40$ which is so economical considering what I usually pay for skin care. It’s helped my skin so much this winter as we’ve been in lockdown and stuck inside with the heat on all day. Sometimes, in the evenings I just take a big blob of cream and massage it into my face for 20 minutes and I feel like I’ve had a mini facial. It really is a lovely product. And if you’re like me, struggling to find a cream that actually absorbs and feels like it’s helping soothe your dry skin, then you might want to consider this one!!
La Roche Posay Effaclar Matt Daily moisturizer is a great product. I love all products from this brand but especially this one. My oily skin looks perfect after using it, and it’s stays the same for entire day. I am 24 years old and I always have rashes on one cheek, especially before menstruation. I accidentally bought this cream in a pharmacy and used it in the morning and at night. I am very surprised that the cream coped with the rashes in two weeks and now I have only traces left! This is just a super cream for the last 3 years! (I tried this brand before about 5 years ago, and it didn’t help me, maybe another cream). I advise everyone! Moisturizer prefs are personal and the characteristics of this one are different enough so that it stood out to me amongst the dozens sent in my Birchbox subscription. In fact this is the only one I ended up buying. Like someone else said, this smells like tea tree oil so if you don't like that scent…. To me, it smells fresh and clean but dissipates properly. I like the gel-like consistency and light weight, it was the differentiator for me. Keep in mind, that means your skin soaks up more of it; the pea-sized dosage recommendation for high end, denser facial moisturizers doesn't apply to this one. I use 5x that. That's not a big deal, IMO, by weight it's cheaper than some Oil of Olay. My only beef is the packaging. The shipping box was all paper so that's great, but the product container is completely unrecyclable. I'd pay more for glass bottle with no throw away pump. Kiehl's is owned by some massive company so that should mean it'd be super easy, bc plenty of bottles to repurpose.Adam W
Still undecided on this one. While it does decrease the amount of oil shine during the day when it counts the most, in the evening it's almost like my skin releases all the oil that was being held back during the day and I look and feel greasier than I did before. So for me at least, yes, it eliminates oil, but not for anywhere remotely close to 24 hours. Eight to ten hours, sure. The scent isn't offensive and doesn't linger on me, but I'd strongly prefer something unscented.BMcS
I was a bit skeptical when I first ordered this product. I have always, and I mean always, had a huge problem with oily skin around my t-zone. However the rest of my skin has a dryness issue, so clearly I need to use a moisturizer. So I've always felt that the moisturizers I have used have increased the oiliness around my t-zone and made shininess a bit worse. This product is really amazing, I use it every day (with a heavier moisturizing cream at night) and I always have just enough skin hydration without greasiness. Now I will add one problem I've had while using the product- I work in a restaurant, so obviously there will be some grease in the air. After a long time working (i.e. running around frequently and always being on the go, not to mention the condition of the air in a steakhouse kitchen) I will occasionally still have SOME greasiness in my t-zone. However, I don't fault the product for this as I feel that the circumstances are somewhat unusual. The only reason I mention this issue at all is because you can't expect this product to work miracles, I certainly don't. But it DEFINITELY works better than any other moisturizer I have used before; nothing has met my needs as well.Seth

Creams with hair-raising price tags such as this should come with grandiose promises. But this little glass tub of cold cream offers only two: to soothe damaged skin and then make it really, really (REALLY) soft. It does both marvellously and much more. Now this is the real deal! A true Iced Tea! But with a flavorful blend of raspberry. Which is perfect as the tartness of the berry against the tea is a pairing that sings! I've been drinking Pure Leaf bottled iced teas for a while now with very little flavor selection in the stores, so I am happy to see some expansion into other flavors by this brand. #Mint is not an easy flavor of Pure Leaf to find locally, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a single serve bottled #tea of it in the refrigerated case in the #Target grocery section as opposed to the checkout lane mini fridges. I adore this moisturizer. It works just as intended without causing any irritation or clogging my pores. I can comfortably wear this on top of a treatment serum and beneath sunscreen without feeling like I'm melting. Sometimes I wear it by itself when I'm staying in. It's perfect. If you have very dry skin this will not be suitable for you. I love the sanitary packaging which also keeps the formula stable and the pump works well until the end. Unfortunately, this product didn't help with controlling oil on my face. I have oily skin and regularly have to blot or give my face a wipe down throughout the day. I still found I needed to do this while using this moisturizer. I've been using it daily in the mornings for about 2 months. For additional context, I generally eat very healthy (GF, DF, egg-free, paleo, low sugar, etc.), exercise, and drink plenty of water. This was a great, light moisturizer that soaked in and worked really well under makeup, but I didn't notice any change or lessening in my oil. Our winters are SO DRY in Colorado and each year I fight the battle of flakey, dry skin, where no amount of lotions or moisturizes can fix. Well, this serum changed all that! I have ridiculously oily skin. I’m talking about so-oily-you could cook-with-the-amount-of-oil-on-my-face, and it really didn’t do anything to keep the oil away. The Southern California humidity isn’t as bad as in some other places, but still. I’m pretty bummed because Caudalie usually has some pretty good products and I’m always looking for ways to mattify my skin. It also took me a while to figure out the best way to put this on. Upon application, I loved how lightweight it felt and how quickly it absorbed and didn’t leave a sticky feeling. However, one should never leave the house without SPF, so I experimented with ways to add this to my routine. No matter if I mixed this with my SPF or if I applied this first and then the SPF, my skin would still look and feel not quite oily, but not very matte. Bummer, right? It does have a nice, clean scent to it. I’m pretty sure it’s just the standard Vinopure line scent. It might be a big strong for those who are sensitive to scents, though. All in all, it was pretty underwhelming in terms of oil control, but it still felt nice as a moisturizer. I wouldn’t say it’s now my go-to. I’ll continue using it until I run out, but I won’t purchase it. #freeproducttrywithtopbox
I have combination skin that can get very oily during the warm, humid summer months. As a result, It can be a struggle finding a moisturizer that is lightweight enough for me to wear during the day while still hydrating my skin. The vinopure oil-control moisturizer did a wonderful job of this and was even great when worn under makeup! I frequently have issues of my foundation breaking up after a few hours of wear if I use skincare before application, but this product didn't have that effect. It was lightly hydrating, enough that my skin felt smooth and plump, and it absorbed very quickly which i appreciated. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that this product is fragrance-free since it does have a light scent to it but fragrances can be irritating to my skin. I also love that is comes in a tube! it may not feel as luxe as a pretty glass jar but it is far more hygienic and easier to use. I received a free sample of Caudalie's Vinopure Oil-Control Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin from Topbox Circle. Receiving a #freeproduct did NOT cause me to leave a positive review. I actually DO have oily, blemish prone skin. Normally I can't wear makeup or BB cream for more than an hour before my oily skin causes the makeup/BB cream to break up, look blotchy and patchy, and just overall terrible…. No matter what I apply to my face beforehand. The best mattifying primers and setting powders are just no match for my oily skin. The photo with the blue wall in the background is the "before" photo. I had just taken a shower and dried my hair. No product applied to my face at all, and you can already see my face is starting to look oily. In the other photo, several hours later, the only products I've used all day are the Vinopure Oil-Control Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin, Purlisse BB cream, and mascara. No primer, no touch ups or oil blotting sheets, no setting powder, no nothin. My face looks a little shiny but honestly it looks so much better than normal. My makeup isn't sliding off my face! Ive been using this moisturizer after showering in the morning, and after washing my face at night. It doesn't feel greasy at all and hasn't caused any new breakouts for me. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating is because I find the scent totally repulsive… Thankfully the scent doesn't last long. If you're on the fence I think it's worth a try.lisatron138

I love this moisturizer for cooler/less humid months! With true combination skin, I find this moisturizer is light and airy enough for the oily spots while moisturizing enough for the dry parts of my skin. I will note, however, that I switch to the Bioelements Beyond Hydration moisturizer during the more humid/summer months because my skin tends to be more oily during those months. Being late August, I just switched back to this moisturizer and it feels great on my skin, keeping it moisturized as things are getting more dry.Samantha T.
I was recommended this from my mom's spa as a trusted but unknown company. It's my first product from Bioelements and I absolutely loved it. I have very dry skin, also pretty sensitive, occasional acne, and some fine lines starting. I loved the feel of this as I like creamier formulas to actually make sure it feels hydrated but this is nowhere near heavy at all, it's a good medium ground. A little goes a long way, and overall I like it way better than any other standard moisturizer I've tried (from Kiehl's to Olay). I'm excited to try the other moisturizers just because I do have sensitive and very dry skin so I'm going to see if I like those specific targeted ones more, but to be honest I have a really hard time not just ordering this again because it was great. A few years ago our pastor shared as an illustration for how we can invest in the wrong things, women tend to spend the most money on makeup, but research has found there's not a lot of difference in lipstick from less expensive to more expensive ones, but there is a huge difference if you spend more for a better moisturizer! I was very excited to receive this product that was gifted by Laneige for my honest review. I had heard good things about it and was hoping it would live up to the hype. The first thing I learned with this product was that a little goes a long way. The product was instantly hydrating. As someone with dry skin, this product moisturized my skin and helped it to stay moisturized throughout the day without making me look oily. I used this moisturizer as a base when applying makeup many times and it left my skin hydrated and blended with my makeup very nicely. After application, my face felt very soft and smooth. The only thing I would say negatively is that although this product is recommended for oily skin, it just makes them look even more oily and did not go away through out the day. I’m very surprised at how much is loving this gel moisturizer! I have combo skin and with the weather changing, this product ended up doing a great job at moisturizing enough for both days and also being used as a night cream. It sinks in well and doesn’t leave a heavy tacky feeling that’s noticeable. The only gripe I have is with the design of the jar. I noticed that it twist to open, but doesn’t twist all the way off. It twists about halfway and then you have to pull up on lid to completely remove it. I struggle every now and then, because I forget it doesn’t twist all the way off, which is different from other products, but does take an extra few seconds to remove. This was a very basic,nice moistrizer. Not enough moisture for me at night,or even during the day,really,but excellent under something heavier to help with my redness and also has a beautiful cooling sensation. Very light,easily-sinks-in gel cream texture and the aloe is great for inflammation. While I don’t suffer from acne,I definitely do get the occasional hormonal pimple and I’m redness prone. Being very fair, this is more evident on me. This will be a great cream for the Summer months(layered over/with an SPF,always,during the day!). I can see this working wonders for oily,ir acne-prone skin. The scent-free formula also helps with aggravating skin. It’s a good moisturizer. Creamy white with a light aloe scent. The texture is nice, like a gel cream. It absorbs well into the skin. It gives a nice cooling sensation when placed on the skin. It dries matte. Would probably be best suited for someone with oily skin. It may not be moisturizing enough for someone with extremely dry skin. I would say that its not ideal for cold winter weather as it’s very light. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, I would advise against using this. Otherwise, I would purchase it again and recommend giving it a try. It’s an affordable price as well, I paid about $6 on Amazon.gee.c
I used Clean and Clear aloe vera calming gel moisturizer, for 2 weeks straight, and not only did I absolutely love the texture, but it moisturized my skin and kept it moisturized, all through the day; without leaving any kind of greasy residue on my skin. I was not familiar with gel cream texture, but I must say, a little goes a very long way, and it saturates into the skin so quickly. The scent was very light and pleasant. It does not linger. It was also very soothing and Cooling as soon as I put it on my skin. I love using this not only every night and during the day; but after exfoliating & just anytime my skin felt irritated, or needed an extra boost of hydration. I will definitely be adding this to my everyday skin care regimen. I am very impressed, and I was definitely recommend to anyone with dry, oily, combo or sensitive skin. I’ve tried so many sunscreens geared towards oily skin. Most of them either work for an hour or 2, tops or they look completely gray. This the only spf that TRULY keeps me matte throughout the day. This formula does have a gray cast, but give it 5 minutes and it does fade. I’m a chocolate-colored girl and the cast usually mostly fades by the time I’m ready to leave the house. I only wish it was a higher spf. Will continue to buy this over and over! I’m on my second bottle.Amblessed O.
I was not prepared for the true matte this product provides. Most oil control products last maybe half a day at most. However, ShineBlock lasts all day. I applied it before applying my makeup primer and the results were amazing. I also love that I am shine-free throughout the day. I don't have to blot as often. Since I have been using this product, I have noticed one con. When I first apply it I can see a white haze on my face. It reminds me of the matte primer. The haze is gone within minutes. So far, I have not noticed any residue left behind. I plan to add this product to my daily routine.Shearil M.
This is not a terrible mineral sunscreen, considering the amount of zinc in it it does pretty well. However, my skin tone is very dark and it left a noticeable white cast. I applied in three layers so that it could blend out better, it was very mattifying without being drying but was a bit hard for the texture of it to blend out on the skin. Still, after applying the adequate amount about three fingers worth it and waiting 15 min for it to settle in it still left a white cast. Nice for underneath makeup but not presentable enough to leave the house by itself without attracting a few stares. Nice try UrbanSkinRx…but the search still continues.Amina
