Best Shampoo For Oily Hair During Pregnancy (2024 Update)

Tried the Degrease Shampoo because my hair is quite on the oily scale. Packaging is great and high quality bottle and tamper proof lid/foil. Upon first usage, I noticed a very floral, fruity, citrus-like scent. It smells great and reminds me of sorbet or candy. After rinsing off, the scent is much more subtle which is great that it doesnt overpower you. The shampoo so far has been great. I have thin, fine greasy hair and my daily exercise routine and having hard water does not help. I found this degrease shampoo online and it is the first shampoo that has helped my hair not be so greasy. It worked the first time I used it and it is still working well three months later. Just bought my third bottle of this product online and I've finally been able to stop searching for a better one. I've tried so many shampoos over the years! Between oily scalp and product buildup, I never thought I could skip a day, but my baby fine hair was suffering for it. I honestly think most shampoos designed to remove oils and residue overstrip and create increased oil production (much like most acne medicines). It becomes a vicious cycle. This product works and does not dry out my hair and my scalp doesn't overproduce oils to make up for overdrying. Hello everyone. I came across this product. I mean I was constantly looking for a mild chemical free shampoo as I was facing a postpartum hair fall. I fortunately came across the Tree To Tub. Soapberry shampoo. I also read its contents, and I thought why not? I give this a try and uh it's amazing. It's not only gentle, it's also paraben sulfate uh silicon free, which is required for the water today. And also apart from the stress and tension that we go through, we require this kind of a shampoo, which is a very mild gentle on the scalp as an and we can use this on a daily basis. So this is an amazing product for all you women out there who want to get their hair shampooed on a daily basis without having to worry that you know, it can be harsh on their scalp. Uh it can cause hair green issues. This is amazing. I can't wait to try and just try their shampoo. I can't wait to try their other products, especially their conditioner. So my hair actually feels a lot more gentle and a lot more thicker fuller bouncy without even having to do blow dry my hair or straightening my head. I’m always trying out clean products, so I took a chance on this set for my hair and I’m glad I did. Keep in mind that if you are currently using regular stuff from the grocery store, your hair will have to detox for you to feel the effects of a clean natural shampoo. On my third wash my hair was clean, shiny and moisturized without leave-in products. I confidently use this on my kids too. I wish the bottle was bigger for the price, though. I'm very impressed with the ingredients in this shampoo and pleasantly surprised at how well it works. Many years ago I was on the hunt for body care items that were fragrance and dye free to address some health issues I was experiencing. Back then (about 10 years ago) it was not easy to find these items and even more difficult to find any that worked as well as "regular" products. I wish this had been available back then! It smells wonderful and lathers just as well as any other shampoo. I have extremely sensitive skin and found this product didn't cause any issues. My hair looked great, felt fantastic, and did I mention I loved the smell? The only downside (for me) is that even though I only wash my hair 1-2 times per week the cost is a bit high for my budget. I was looking for a good, safe shampoo through pregnancy and think I found my shampoo for life! I was drawn to this product initially for being natural and safe for pregnancy. When I received it, it passed the smell test with flying colors. It actually made me nostalgic for my childhood in the 1990s by reminding me of my favorite shampoos back then. I can’t get enough! Next, the shampoo was non-drying and didn’t weigh my hair down. The conditioner was perfect. I haven’t had so much success before with a hair product, especially with my sensitive skin. Let me start of by saying I have oily hair and that I've tried ALOT of different brands claiming to help with oiliness. However this right here, this shampoo has been doing absoulete wonders for my hair! It leaves my hair feeling cleaned but doesn't strip my head. The only thing I would love was for a bigger bottle as the texture of this is gloopy and you get through it quite fast, but that's not too much of an issue as it deffo works. If you struggle with oily hair I 100% recommend this!! Also works really well with their nettle dry shampoo too.shannon.s

People that say they used this once or twice, you have to give the product time to balance your scalp. GIVE IT TIME. I mean do you use an acne line for one day and say it "doesn't work" because your skin isn't pristine the next day? I buy this product in store and love it, at first I thought it wasn't lathering enough and questioned that but I thought "by God I bought it I'm going to use it." Lol- well about a week after using it (daily use) I was pretty impressed that it was working. Give it a chance and don't believe any naysayers who review ANY product and bash it after one use. So admittedly I haven't had a lot of definable results. I got 2 sachets of the shampooing mask 2 in 1, and a small bottle of the shampoo with nettle, as a gift to try them out. Now with both products I tried to follow the instructions on the packages. To start off the small bottle of shampoo with nettle unfortunately wasn't really enough to do a while lot of anything to my hair. It didn't lather very well so 95% of my hair was completely untouched by the shampoo despite all my attempts to spread it out. I really dont think this was make for thick hair. Maybe it would work better for thin hair? Needless to say I didn't really feel any results after washing it out and when it dried I had to wash it all over again. Now i did get more results from the shampooing mask. That one at least by combining powder from both packets along with water did actually get most all of my hair. Now doing that mask in the shower was a pain in the butt! And was a bit of a mess. But I did see a little bit of difference in the oiliness of my hair. Not really a whole lot but I imagine longer usage would see better results. So overall I'm a little on the fence about both of these products. Protein shampoo is very good, it's very nutritious but I think it's better for normal or dry hair, I'm oily so they does not produce a lot lather maybe for my oily. The hair feel like to much weight. I used to use alternate with other shampoo for better results.fabiana.g

I colour my hair so use a lot of product. This really cleanses the scalp effortlessly and removes build up. I then follow with my normal Discipline or Bain Satin shampoo and conditioners and a thermo blow dry cream. I only need to use it every 3 washes or so so it lasts a long time. Leaves my fine hair grease free at the roots and fresh and my blow dry lasts longer before the dreaded oily roots set in. Highly recommend, I always repurchase.Laura

I read it from a hair expert that using professional shampoo will not only allow you to skip showering your hair for 3 days or so but will also make your styling longer. This shampoo from Kerastase is super effective with balancing my oily scalp! I use it to remove product build-up and it’s so refreshing after! My hair last for days if I’m not working out. This is a one of the best shampoo's I have ever used for oily scalp and oily hair. Typically if I use a shampoo to treat my oily hair it makes my hair super dry or the oiliness comes back after a day or two but this was just amazing. After washing with this shampoo my hair is definitely is cleaner and smoother and requiring less and less to wash so often. The fragrance is divine as well. It helps to reduce the oiliness in my hair and scalp. To me the smell is not the greatest but after applying conditioner I don't notice it.jo.s

This conditioner is 10/10. I have tried “The One� conditioner and have also loved that one as well, but this one has different benefits. For one, it’s super light and not as thick as some conditioners, the slip is great. My hair used to look so dull if I didn’t wash it and now it looks shinier and feels super soft. My hair doesn’t feel heavy. The no fragrance makes a huge difference because I don’t have those extra unnecessary chemicals drying out my hair. One con for this is the bottle size. I should’ve bought a bigger bottle because of my thick hair I have to use a lot of product. The small bottle featured in the photo was between $10 and $13 and lasted me about 2 weeks. I am not high maintenance at all when it comes to hair care. I prioritize my preference to skincare etc. After running out of shampoo I decided to try this one since I love the Kristin Ess texturizing spray. Biggest mistake! This formula literally caused my head and scalp to become insanely itchy and when you scratch, since the formula is so drying, your scalp gets flaky. It’s not dandruff, but looks like it because of all the flakes. I’m so disappointed with this product. I used this shampoo only once, and I could feel it making my hair a strange brittle texture as I washed it. I can generally wash my hair and not use conditioner, except for the first week after I get highlights. I could not even run my hands through my hair after washing. Needed to use a conditioner, and then still had trouble getting a brush through it. The bottom 2 inches of my hair remain unmaneageable since I used this product. Now I am forced to use conditioner just to brush through my hair after washing, even though I am using my previous shampoo. Very unhappy that it basically wrecked my hair. My husband, who has virgin hair, has no problem with the shampoo, but does use conditioner. The only reason I even tried this was because there is no scent. That is the only plus. I really like this. For me the smell lasts a while and it does a good job of clarifying my scalp. It smells great and it does what it says it’s going to do. My only issue is that it takes a while to rinse out. My hair feels a certain way after rinsing for what I would say is my “normal” rinsing time. I probably rinse an extra 30 seconds to a minute more than usual. But that’s okay with me because I don’t use this daily so to me it’s not a giant issue. But it might be for others. My hair has literally never felt better. My hairstylist said my hair had a lot of product buildup so I researched the best product to remove it and came across this. I NEVER want to use another shampoo again! My bleached hair feels like virgin hair again and feels so clean. My hair is absolutely obsessed. It is truly in love with this shampoo. I used to use Paul Mitchell tea tree lemon and sage thickening shampoo but now my hair can’t get enough of this stuff! You’ll notice in the reviews that this makes your hair stiff. That is true. I have used St Clements Shampoo Bar for over a year now and have since then switched to Ethique conditioner as well. I hope to leave some helpful thoughts on this bar as I have gotten to know it well over the past year. PROS: The sustainability, the results, the smell- there are so many good things I can say about this product. I have pretty thin hair. I originally switched to this bar because the shampoo I purchased at the grocery store was causing my hair to fall out. I decided I wanted to go natural to eliminate the chances of that ever happening again. I originally purchased this bar on Amazon simply because of its natural ingredients- without knowing anything about the Ethique company itself. Once I tried the bar and learned more about the values of the company, I was hooked. This is currently the only shampoo bar I have tried and could see myself venturing into other shampoo bars from Ethique in the future, but either way I have definitely found a soap company I will stay with. The bar helps my hair feel lighter, has allowed me to go an extra day in between washes, and is just as easy to use as liquid shampoo (once you get the hang of it). I also appreciate their value on sustainability and being kind to the environment. After my initial order on Amazon, I have ordered directly from Ethique to receive a plastic-free shipment. That alone is 100% worth the few extra dollars for shipping. Plus, the free sample size product they give you usually equates to the cost of shipping anyways and is a great gateway to trying other products from Ethique. CONS: Product-wise I don't have many bad things to say about this bar, but I did dock one star for one main reason: lifetime. I love this bar so much that I don't mind paying more for Ethique products. I do not, however, agree that the price of this shampoo bar is comparable to a bottle of "normal" shampoo at the grocery store based on its lifetime. My bars last between a month and half to two months. The first bar I bought I used incorrectly (I made suds and then washed) and have since then learned how to use the bar correctly. The month and half time average is based on the bars I used correctly. This also correlates to storage. I live in a pretty low humidity climate- its really dry here. I store my bar on soap saver pad on a metal-bar shower shelf and when I leave the shower I make sure to leave the shower doors open and the bathroom fan on for a while after I'm done. I find that the bar still remains really soft in between washes, and often breaks down while in use. This results in me going through the bar a lot quicker, since large clumps pull off the bar into my hair. I did not have this problem with the first few bars I used, but it has since been common in my past few purchases. If there are any recommendations from people who have experienced this on how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it! Hair feels clean. I was using a now discontinued liquid Charcoal Shampoo from another company, which I was happy with. This is even better for my hair and scalp. I cannot use "cheap" or "supermarket" shampoo due to reaction to additives but am not having a reaction to St Clements because it is free of the toxic (to me ) preservatives in most shampoos. I chose this brand over a cheaper option at Priceline, because Ethique has a cleaner ingredient list while the other brands stocked contain nasty (to me ) ingredients and/or preservatives. My naturally poker straight hair is not artificially lifted by this shampoo bar and is very clean with four short strokes on my waist length hair. Only issue is trying to keep the bar dry, as bathroom often in use. If you have a busy bathroom, a face washer isn't going to keep the bar dry and the box will stay wet. Should be sorted soon as getting a free pink container with latest order. Thank you for not putting Aloe in everything, as I am allergic to it and appreciate Ethique adds ingredients because they are beneficial or essential to the formula, not because they are "trending" like some other brands do.Jen

I love this shampoo. It's meant for oily hair. I tried a "normal" hair shampoo and it convinced me to try this. I've been using it forever now and I love the effect it has. It makes my hair soft. I do still use a "normal" based hair conditioner (I think it's kookabar) for extra silk texture. I am a little annoyed because it's recebtly started to get really soft and slip between the grates of its rack. (Photo to follow) This has started in the past month roughly. I keep it away from the stream of water, uncovered to air dry. It seems to only affect this recipe since, as previously stated, I did try one "normal" sampler and a normal block. Incredible experience with this WOW Shampoo Apple Cider Vinegar and Virgin Coconut + Avocado Conditioner. I applied Shampoo an I let it act for 5 minutes, gently massaging the root. I took a chance years ago! My frizz is under control just by shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels LIGHT (not weighed down by other frizz products). This shampoo is a dream for anyone w/ long hair! First, it cleans thoroughly w/out stripping your hair of natural & needed healthy oils. It's gentle while still cleansing. I really really love this product because wonderful smell. It is refreshing to my scalp. Makes my hair feel fabulous. However, I don't know why but it makes my hair have crazy static electricity! It took me a couple of months to figure out which Lange product was doing it and I finally narrowed it down to the peppermint products. It is the strangest thing. Not sure what is in it that caused the electricity because otherwise I really love the mint shampoo and conditioner. Very sad that I can't use it. I have very fine, oily hair. I ran out of my Lange mint shampoo in the fall and we were in the middle of a move and having a baby that it slipped my mind to order some before I needed more. So I’m fairly new to L’Ange trying out all the products, and decided to go ahead and order this because I am trying to hair train. A confusing product for sure, if I had to describe this mask in emoji form, it would be the thinking face emoji, because it left me perplexed and not quite sure how I felt. I've used hair masks before and I was expecting that this, like them, would be applied to the hair at a separate, non-shower time and left, then rinsed out in the shower.So for clarity's sake (because the listing doesn't have much info) you are supposed to use this AFTER shampooing, like a conditioner and then stand around in the shower for five minutes before washing it out. I'm not so much a fan of that, I do prefer a mask that I can sit down and relax with while it's on, ideally a longer mask that can go with a face mask, so you can feel like you're getting more of a spa treatment. This is more like a sheet conditioner than a mask, which makes the sheet part at all feel a bit pointless.I do have short hair, so I didn't have any of the problems with fitting my hair in the cap that others seemed to have and it did leave my hair soft and shiny (though not any more than a good conditioner). I like the fact that it's not tested on animals and that the cap is cute. When you first see the cap you're going to be confused because it looks waaaay too big to fit on a human's head. It's comically big. But it actually fits well, though I did have to slide it back like a beanie cap to stop it falling in my eyes.My two biggest complaint about this would be 1) the mask goo is hazardously slippery in my shower. Even dropping conditioner in the shower previously, it rinses away easily and I've never had any problems with slipping, even after rinsing all over my shower, hair and feet, my shower was so slippery I really struggled to get out without falling. So be really, really careful when using this.2) I really feel like the term 'mask' is misleading and since it stays in for such a short time, I think conditioner is just easier and does as good a job. Would love to see a longer, non-shower based 'mask' instead.Minor complaint, but the sticker is also really fiddly to figure out and apply with wet hands and no mirror. The smell is ok, though pretty strong and floral, if that isn't to your tastes.Overall, I just felt it wasn't effective enough for me, given the hassle of using it, lack of a spa type experience and the overall cost and cons of the mask.S. I ordered this balancing Shampoo and conditioner with other product from the same brand in the last two weeks . I start to urs it immediately following the instructions. I found out from the very first time I use it the stopping of my hair fall. My hair for some reason start to fall too much after my second child, no illness involved in any type. I didnt really thought will not come back as it used to do. Now my hair is so thin that I thought if this shading will not stop soon I will be eventually bald. For a female this is not acceptable. So I start to search for natural products that can help me, and here we are , this product save my hair, now my hair stopped falling as it used to be. And this fact alone is so great that at least I know there is hope to regain what I lost in the last year .Now, its really nice after it dry completely. I have to get the same brand conditioner just to not mess anything that can help, and it works just perfect for my hair.Just as a note I also use the same brand of Castro oil to grew new hair that I need in order to treat my hair in all ways possible…Thanks you….Update, after a month of using this balancing Shampoo and conditioner with its conditioner I can say it great and my hair is looking fuller and healthier and I even have baby hair too. I used it with Castro oil from the same brand too. Awesome….chris m.

I got this balancing Shampoo and conditioner for my brother but as I read more about it and how it is supposed to treat the scalp, I became more interested in it for myself. I have a severe allergy to balancing Shampoo and conditioners and hair products and the one Id been relying on stopped working, causing my scalp to freak out and get eczema/psoriasis type condition. Trying to find a new balancing Shampoo and conditioner lead to hair falling out. I do have fine, thin hair, but I dont have an issue with hair loss, but I bought this with hopes in healing my scalp and promoting growth for what was lost. My scalp has cleared up 100%. It is so happy when using this balancing Shampoo and conditioner. No more flaws, hives or itchiness! My hair has strengthened and strand loss has gone down, but I used to have flare ups.This does make your hair straw like if you lather it up carelessly. I try not to, and its imperative that you follow using a conditioner of your choosing so it will be manageable. I also follow with a detangler spray before I blow dry.For me the scent smells like a lemon-like cleaning product but I just follow with a body spray in my daily routine so it doesnt bother me. Its not too strong or offensive, Im just used to a more luxurious scent.I recommend this for scalp health. I do see new growth for hair, but I am not a person to speak on hair loss recovery for this product.Charlie
