Bought a Bottle of the Mint Blend at my Local Walmart. Got home, opened the bottle, applied about four drops in the palm of my hand, worked it into my beard down to the skin with my hands and fingers. The after effect was like smelling a old damp, moldy rags. Contacted Cremo's customer service and actually got a reply within an hour… and this was on a Saturday. Long story short, they bent over backwards to make this right. Got a replacement bottle of oil, and balm within days. Great job guys. I'll be buying direct from here on out. Until I tried this beard oil (I got the sample kit first), I really confused by this idea of beard oil. Why the heck would I intentionally want to put oil *in* any hair, let alone my beard?! I was worried that it would cause the skin on my chin and neck to break out and make my beard to look greasy. My goodness was I wrong! The trick is to use an amount according to the length/fullness of your beard. The fuller and thicker your beard, the more liberal you can be with the oil- and yes, get right down to the skin beneath your beard!! It is *amazing*! My beard feels and looks so much healthier! Serious beardsmen with a wide variety of oils on their shelves, doesn't need this one. The number 1 importance of beard products is how well they mousturize. We don't want all the additional ingredients other than natural oils and essential oils for scent. Sadly, this oil falls short in terms of that. I have no more issues with beard dander (/cheer!) and my goatee looks fuller and less disheveled. Most importantly is that my better half notices the difference. Can't beat Proraso for value and performance. Was curious about this because I'd never tried the vetyver scent. Goes on damp, rubs through easily, and soothes that dry, brittle feeling my beard sometimes gets. The odour is pretty much as I said in the title — like being in a thick pine forest on a really hot day. We absolutely love the product itself, the oil itself is fantastic and he loves it. The bottle it comes in on the other hand has serious issues! The last 2 bottles we have ordered have been messed up in some way, one was received broken and the oil had spilled all over the tube. He had to take it out and store it on its side to prevent further leaking. The most recent one the dropper bulb came already separated from the bottle and had to be stored at an angle so he can use it without further leaking. We have pictures if you would like them! I've tried 5 (Pirate, Viking, Original and Patriot) so far and this is my fav. Jury is still deliberating on Patriot (new to me), but the rest are all pretty good. I rotate through oils/balms each day. Thinking it helps keep me from getting tired of an specific scent and limits the opportunity for irritation. None have caused irritation so far. I really like the scent of The Biker, which is especially important now that find ourselves in masks a lot. Skin doesn't itch, which is a huge measure of success for me. Scent is secondary, but important. As a side benefit, the oil and the balm provide a pretty decent alternative to smelling my breath all the time in a mask. I have recently started matching oil and balm, with the only noticeable benefit is consistency in the scent. i really like what this product has to offer. I tend to go longer beard (3-6") during winter and goatee/stash in summer. Right now the beard is short (started to winterize), but remains soft and healthy whether short or long. I got the trial size because patchouli, sandalwood, and mint just sound weird together. Somehow I ended up with 2x trial sizes, the first one smelled really weird, like York peppermint patties. About the time I was at the bottom of the oil it changed to more like patchouli and sandalwood alone, the mint sort of went away. The second bottle of oil smelled only like patchouli and sandalwood, not really any mint at all. So that was kind of weird, but after a few days I got to liking the scent, especially the peppermint patty one, but the mint doesn't last too long. In the end it was the price for the larger sizes that will keep me away. But I do like that they have lots of choices if that's your bag.Bobb G.

Redken Go Clean works fine as a daily shampoo, but only if you don't have a dandruff-prone scalp. It builds a nice lather, has a fantastic neutral smell, and it seemed to make my hair thicker overall. However I'm knocking it two stars for two reasons. First, it has salicylic acid in it, the same stuff that's in your pimple cream and works as a drying agent. If you deal with flakes at all this shampoo could exacerbate the problem (it did for me). Second, it's simply overpriced. I understand the idea that "a little goes a long way" but the same can be said of other products on the shelf that don't have a price tag this high; specifically, I'm referring to shampoos that don't use sodium lauryl sulfate such as those in the Clear Men Scalp Therapy line.colette.s
Redken…you can never really go wrong with their products. I honestly haven’t found anything I didn’t like. This products minty-ness feels like your scalp is being deep cleaned (in a good way not hurtful) and the scent is great. My husband could do away with the invigorating part, but I like it! The first beard oil that I started oil is Bourbon Vanilla, which I see is no longer available on the shelves at Walmart, though it is listed on its website to order. I see you respond to others in this thread that you reformulated Bourbon to be Bourbon Vanilla… HUH? After trying a variety of brands and scents I settled on something from undercoverwax. It worked well and my wife loved the scent. Fast forward a couple of years, undercoverwax is gone as a company. I've been trying for months for a suitable replacement. Today I tried your Cremo Reserve Blend. I really like the scent. Giving it four stars and writing this review 10 minutes after trying it on my beard only because I it hasn't proven itself yet in terms of effectiveness and the wife hasn't smelled it. I am not a beard oil guy. I don't like my beard and face feeling like an oil slick. I do use Cremos scruff cream and that works great. Having a two year old beard however the scruff cream needs a little help and I know beard oil is an essential part of the bearded life. Cremos beard oil is not overly greasy and really helps with softening the beard and really making my face feel good. No itch or beardruff. The scent, I really like it, my wife goes nuts over it so I should be able to be able to go for full growth potential. I have used most products from everyone since 2012 and I now only have Cremo in my house. Great products at great prices.just a bearded man

Like most bearded brothers I have a plethora of beard oils. When this showed up in an oil can I’m starting to see the theme they are rolling with. This helps shape and tame the flyaways and smells great with the Sweet Tobacco body wash. It is the most non greasy oil I’ve ever used hands down. The smell is there and you feel confident if anyone is near they’ll know “what’s up”. 2oz at this price is a steal where most other premiums are the same price for 1oz. Picked this up after actually going clean shaved, so I figured I'd use it as a hair tonic. The scent is beyond long lasting, gentle vanilla notes still come through even a whole day after, until I wash. Not even remotely overpowering, and very nice for some additional shine in the locks. Context: I have been a Beardbrand customer for 4+ years. When it comes to moisturizing my face, I look to the Old Money variety of beard oil. I historically have purchased this 1-ounce container of liquid gold once or twice per year. What Has Gone Right: There is no question the beard oil itself is made from high-quality ingredients and is effective in moisturizing my face and leaving my beard with a pleasant sheen. I use as directed, and I get use out of the product for several months. What Has Gone Wrong: First, the Old Money scent seems to have changed. Top notes used to include bourbon and tobacco (to the best of my knowledge), but now they include oak and leather. My wife has a perceptive nose, and she does not enjoy the current iteration of the Old Money formula nearly as much as the former. Second, the current packaging (taller and skinnier bottle) is clearly inferior to the former packaging (shorter and stouter bottle, as pictured). Perhaps cheaper materials were used to lower the price point by $10/unit. The worst change has been the cap, which screws on crooked for me (not flush with the rectangular edges) and flakes off nasty bits of black residue (within 10 uses). To preserve my sanity and appease my particular nature, I transferred the beard oil to a separate container, a $2 glass bottle with an eye-dropper feature that I picked up from a local co-op. Conclusion: I have gone steady with Old Money beard oil purchases for the last 4+ years, but the latest iteration has made me rethink things. In my opinion, changes to the formula have made the scent less alluring, and changes to the packaging have made applying the product less enjoyable. I lived in Florida my whole life and I took the humidity for granted. I never needed to do much to have a nice healthy beard. When I moved to Colorado earlier this year, my beard was not happy with the dry air. I didn't even know face dandruff was a thing. I bought a couple of other beard oils and balms, but my face was constantly itchy and irritated. After a few months, I finally decided to shave completely and start from scratch, and this time I'd take it seriously. I had seen Beardbrand commercials so I decided to give them a shot. Once my beard came back to a decent point, I bought the beard softener and beard oil in tree ranger, and I opted for the "mystery product" which ended up being the tree ranger utility balm. A couple weeks later, I can safely say these are the best beard products I've ever used. My face hasn't itched at all, there are no flakes, and my beard feels softer than it ever has. And I really love the tree ranger scent. I feel like I'm worthy of living in the Colorado Rockies. Yes, these products are pricey, but if you're going to grow a beard, it's worth spending the money to take care of it.Scott S.
This has all the notes of the description, plus more, and still has one clear scent, luxury! None of the complexities of this scent distract you from that one perfect scent you get from this. This has an incredibly luxurious and manly vibe to it. It has a spectacularly intoxicating scent. If I had a premium cologne that was 200$ and I thought (keyword thought) it was the best scent, that I needed to buy, and this was 200$, I would 100% buy this. This smells like a very nice extremely premium cologne that should be selling for at least 200$ dollars. This Scent is also Incredibly unique. The extra subtle notes I would add, is a slight black pepper note to it, and also a slight cannabis, and hops note to it.J.S.

I have never really used beard oil before so this is my first! It smells wonderful and is easy to apply. I would suggest putting it directly on your beard and rubbing it in a bit. The packaging and bottle are very well designed and easy to use. I like to put it on right after I get out of the shower. It leaves your beard nice and conditioned and gives you some control. The fragrance lasts awhile too! It’s a nice little touch to my morning routine and I would definitely recommend to anyone with a beard to try some out. You will not be disappointed with the smell and feeling of this product. If you apply too much it might drip down your beard so I wouldn’t recommend filling the dropper up to its max capacity for the initial use of the product. I used this product as a review. As I got older the skin under my beard started getting dry and itchy with skin flaking. I tried lotions and conditioners to no avail until I tried Zeus. The results were fantastic, no more skin flaking. Itch and raw skin gone. Has an eye dropper for no mess use, rub into your beard and comb. Softened my beard and gave it a nice gloss.
