Best Body Soap For Dry Skin (2023 Update)

Never have I written a review on any product and certainly it is time to be heard. I have used this product(the old formula) for years and knew something was happening with the product last year. With that in mind I bought ever bottle I could find. The old version was as good as it gets and was the highlight of my daily grooming. All of you who have commented on how great the new product is would be in awe of the old product. Also, I need to throw a flag, as the Company responded that the formula is the same cannot be true. I have the old and the new side by side and (to me) there is no comparison! I will continue to use until I find a replacement product that is as good as the old product used to be!! I will still recommend the product because it is still good but that will change when I find its replacement.M Lacy

Honestly, I didn't think much of the body wash while I was using it; but, when I ran out and went back to using the store bought body wash I've used for years I had my "Ah Ha" moment. My skin felt sticky and unclean, my back developed acne and I missed the smell of the eucalyptus. I have learned my lesson and ordered my second bottle. Only downside is the bottle pump, you have to push down several times to get enough soap out. I really love this product. After being alerted by another person's review (thanks for that) to a formulation change on my old product, I spent a fair amount of time researching what to buy next. I chose this because it has quality organic ingredients (which are hard to find), is eco-friendly, versatile and concentrated. Having used it for a couple of weeks now, I can highly recommend this. It is super friendly and gentle on my skin and the lavender essential oil feels and smells amazing. So far I have used it as a hand and body wash and have tried it as a shampoo and facial cleanser (tested great so will switch to this when old shampoo is used up). I also used a heavily diluted mixture on my plants and it immediately and safely countered the critters and mold and the affected plants recovered immediately. It is a thinner consistency than most of us are accustomed to in commercial soaps but it just takes a minute to get used to it because it is so pleasurable to use and smell. I recall seeing on the product page that there is some kind of additive or process to make it seem more like a thicker commercial soap if desired but, why bother? I have recently been reading about Castile soaps, named for the Castile region of Spain where they originate. They are organic, use oils and scents that are very body and earth friendly and not harsh at all according to my research. I decided to try Cove, and went for the Lavender scent because it is so relaxing and such a gentle aroma. This soap, and I hate to call it that because it is so much nicer than “soap” is just lovely. You only need the smallest amount on your cloth or loofa, like a teaspoon or so and it lathers up nicely and lasts for the entire shower/body. When you are done washing you have a nice clean feeling, not at all lotiony like so many body washes, so you feel squeaky clean without feeling dried out. Your skin feels fresh and moist. And as I said the scent is gentle and aromatic.In addition to olive oil, it contains several essential oils including jojoba, argan, which combats aging, and hemp, which produces a nice moisturizing effect (and no it is not psychotropic!). I love that this vegan soap has so many uses, for your face, your hair, to shave with, to wash your dog and even to do dishes or clean floors, though I would not waste it on floors! It is just too nice. Showering has gone to a new level with this lovely liquid soap and my hair and body and face have never felt nicer! Also, when rinsing the loofa or cloth, the soap rinses out very quickly and leaves the sponge nice and fresh. Recently I was sent a bottle of Cove castile soap to review. While I did receive it free in exchange for this review, all thoughts and opinions are my own. If you aren't familiar with castile soap, you should be. It has about a gazillion uses! Seriously. It's a must have for all of us hippie-homemakers that like to make our own cleaning products. It's a gentle, versatile soap that can be used in just about anything from toothpaste to baby wash, to an all-purpose cleaner for your whole home. It's super concentrated, so a bottle, especially one this gigantic will last you a long time. Cove castile soap comes in a one liter bottle, which is a couple ounces larger than most other liquid castile soaps that I'm familiar with, but it stays within a competitive price point. One thing I love about this soap is that not only can I pronounce and easily procure all of the ingredients, but most of them can be found in my very own kitchen! That's where I keep my oils and ingredients for making household stuffs. Here's what's in it: Purified Water (in my kitchen) Coconut Oil (in my kitchen) Potassium Hydroxide (this is just lye soap, which you can purchase on Amazon. None remains in the product anyway, it's just a part of the soap making process) Argan Oil Jojoba Oil (in my kitchen) Hemp Oil Olive Oil (in my kitchen) Vegetable Glycerin (in my kitchen) That's it! All of the ingredients are certified organic too, which is awesome. I chose the unscented so that I could customize it with whatever oils I wanted. There is a lavender scent available too. There's a laundry list of recipes on the side of the bottle to get you started too. I made three different things with this soap, one from the bottle, two not. First, I used the recipe from the bottle and made the all-purpose cleaner, using it to clean my bathroom and kitchen floors. Second, I made foaming hand soap. I cheated and just picked up a bottle of foaming hand soap from Dollar Tree, and once it was used up I started making my own. I don't have a recipe for you because I've been making it for about two years now, so I just eyeball it. You need two parts distilled (or boiled and cooled) water to one part soap. I also add a few drops of essential oils into mine to make it smell pretty. Make sure to mix the oils into the soap first, before adding distilled water. That's all! Third, I made wipes solution for my cloth wipes. Very simple, just about two cups of distilled (or boiled and cooled) water, one tablespoon castile soap, and one teaspoon oil, I use sweet almond oil, but fractionated oil, vitamin E oil, or olive oil would work. You probably don't even need the oil honestly, but I always add it. I was super impressed with the quality of this soap and will absolutely purchase it in the future. This body wash is amazing. Full stop. The first time I smelled it in the store I thought “I want to take a bath in that!” only to realize that was exactly what it was meant for. As a butch lady, I’ve spent months now trying to find a masculine body wash that a: wasn’t overpoweringly masculine, b: didn’t leave my skin feeling like I’d gone ten rounds with a sander, and c: wasn’t animal tested. Bevel hits all three and is black-owned to boot! I cannot stress enough how good this smells. I’ve had to stop in the middle of grabbing my towel to bury my face in it because it smelled like my body wash. Even on days when I forget to wear deodorant (which happens more often with quarantine) I still smell fresh out of the shower. It is more expensive than I would like, but a man in my building uses $70 body wash and I’m pretty sure this could give his a run for its money.ThePunkRanger

Bevel changed the ingredients in their body wash. Instead of the clear wash with exfoliating beads it’s now a white liquid that practically lotion. It also has a bad after odor that lingers after application. I’ve notice their products are starting to get stickers instead of everything being printed on the bottle as well. The Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash in the 33oz bottle was underwhelming, but it got the job done! I just wouldn't repurchase this Aveeno body wash, but would definitely repurchase a different Aveeno body wash again. This has a very subtle fragrance that dissipates once washed off the skin. Although my skin loves collodial oats, I have tried other body washes from Aveeno that left my skin feeling smooth AND clean. With this, I felt I needed 2 soaps for almost a double cleanse if u will. I would not repurchase this exact body cleanser again, but I didn't dislike it. It didn't cause harm. I just expected more as the other body washes from Aveeno delivered and I will purchase those. One was an unscented one and another was a soothing version. There are some good ingredients in this body wash, but nothing that truly wows me…and it didn't provide a nice feeling on my body afterwards. It left me feeling tight, having to use more which I didn't like since I felt I was robbed of a good deal as this was a 33oz package. My theory is this was an older version and Aveeno has been revamping their products for a while, but I do appreciate Aveeno's other products. This was not worth the $ and it was under $15, but it didn't last long, it wasn't highly emolient like it claimed.abra.l

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash is gentle on your skin. Very moisturizing. And u will never feel that dry squeaky clean feeling other washes can leave you with. (hate that feeling).I have used many Aveeno products over the years and honestly there's not one thing I can find out of them all that is a negative. Aveeno just checks all the boxes for me . I recieved a sample of aveeno daily moistuzing body wash from pinch me. And I will say I am shocked how good this soap felt during and how my skin felt after my shower. I always had issues with dry skin from head to toe. I've tried another brand who we all know advertises their Soap to be moisturizing and I hated it. This aveeno I was skeptical but honestly I LOVED IT. It didn't have that thick lotion feel to it and I'm weird to where I like to see bubbles when I'm washing my body and the smell i can say smelled good not perfumy or weird natural smell. I used a small amount and it was enough for more than half my body and i am a thick person. This product goes a long way. As for after the shower this aveeno doesn't leave that filmy layer feel on your skin that others do. It felt as if i was using a clear or clean soap that people use now a days. I had bad ashy elbows and knees and I could tell a difference later that day my elbows were smoother and not grey looking. I highly recommend this product. Not only has this bar made my skin so clear, but it’s lasted me forever! I’ve had the same one for a year now and my skin is still just as amazing as it was when I first saw results. This was recommended to me by a dermatologist, and I’ve been using it a month now. I generally avoid using bar soap because they tend to be too drying to my skin. However, this does have me rethinking my stance on them. While it’s not a fun, fruity smell, that’s ok. The smell is pretty blah, but it leaves me feeling super clean but not at all dry and itchy. As some one who has struggled with life long skin issues discovering this soap was a true blessing. Before a dermatologist at Curology recommended this soap to me I’d had to stick to a strict regimen of multiple products to avoid break outs – I literally just use this soap twice a day now and my skin is calm and clear. After massaging into my skin I leave it on and count down from 10 before rinsing so it’s antibacterial properties have time to do their thing. You’d think something so effective on oil would dry but no: the emu oil nourishes and moisturizes while the soap cleanses. Started using Ivory soap at 10 years old. Will soon be 62 and it's still the ONLY thing I use. Was excited when they came out with the bar soap in Aloe scent. But a body wash – don't even try to hold me back! I first tried the regular scent and it was great but when I tried this, couldn't believe how amazing it was. I have used this for years and I am in love with the scent of it! They did change the formula a few years ago and I wasn’t as happy with it, but I’ve gotten used to it! This is the second time I have bought the Oatmeal and Lavender soap and I can definitely notice a difference in the product's quality. The first time I ordered, I enjoyed using the soap because it reduced my eczema breakouts and it was very gentle on my skin. However, I found that the soap did not lather particularly well, and that bothered me. I like very sudsy soap. But this new one lathers much better and still has all the significant benefits. I like the soap, it calmed my eczema flare up. I wouldn’t really say it healed it because I started using another soap that showed significant healing immediately after every use. I choose to use a different soap and brand because having to purchase a bar of soap online and wait for shipping during a pandemic is just unnecessary. I suffer from dermatitis and have been struggling to find shower products that help my skin and scalp. While I do like my current products, I noticed that after a year of using them, they aren’t as effective anymore, so I have been trying to find other products to alternate between. I came across Wild Naturals on my search and am really glad I decided to give them a try. I purchased the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I LOVE the body wash and conditioner. The shampoo is good, but as someone who itches a lot, I prefer a product that foams a bit more (just makes me feel cleaner), so I have to use quite a bit to get that effect. As a result, I will likely go through the bottle pretty quickly. The body wash is great and I definitely feel clean. The conditioner is amazing! A very small amount goes a long way! I did notice that if I leave it in for 2-3 minutes as directed on the bottle, my hair is greasy the next day, so now I only leave it in for about 1 minute and that has made a big difference. I am going to continue using their products and hopefully my dermatitis will improve.Nicole J.

I'm a fan girl of the Island Vanilla scent from Pacifica. I've repurchased the hair& body mist and perfume multiple times. It's not your basic vanilla it has a creamy, sweet & floral scent mix to it. It's not like a "cupcake" vanilla scent but more like a natural vanilla scent with some floral notes finished with fresh cream. I decided to try out the coordinating body wash since I love the scent soo much. This body wash is a clear liquid but foams up to a creamy lather. It's gentle and the scent is there but very subtle compared to the the mist & perfume. I gave 3/5 stars because I do wish you could still smell it on your skin after you wash it off. On another note I think this could be improved by being more moisturizing as well. I love Pacifica and will continue to use this wash but won't repurchase it when I'm done.Em

I have the vanilla scrub and the peach strawberry scrub, and I love them both. It is handy that they are in a tube so they don’t get contaminated with water in the shower, and I like that I can send the tube back to Pacifica to recycle. The vanilla scent is very pleasant, it is warm and sweet without smelling artificial. It is a lot stronger and longer lasting than the peach strawberry, I kept getting compliments after I used the vanilla scrub, the scent lasts quite a while on the skin. I’ve been using this body wash for a long time now and I have also been using the lotion version of it too. It’s a very yummy vanilla scent but not like the cheap smelling vanilla you can genuinely tell its vanilla. Out of all the body washes i’ve used I haven’t been able to actually notice any moisturizing feel to my skin afterwards but this definitely leaves a moisturized feel to your skin afterward and it’s even better withe the lotion. I was sent a bottle of this shower gel for review purposes. The consistency and feel of the gel is pleasant; it lathers well, feels quite nourishing and does not leave my skin feeling tight or dry. I followed with the Necessaire Body Serum and feel they are a good combination. The packaging's appearance is non-offensive, although not particularly appealing to me, but I really like the twist top. The fragrance is subtle, which is fine as eucalyptus can be quite overpowering, but I'm not sure I would have recognised it as eucalyptus and didn't particularly like it. I love this body wash. The scent is so subtle but it lingers. The smell has a relaxing quality which I love. It lathers up very well. I use a loofah and a few drops works the whole body. The skin feels so soft. I like that this brand uses key ingredients that work effectively to treat the skin. I was given this product to review but as I was so impressed I bought the exfoliant. This has quickly become a new favorite of mine! Unfortunately, this sentiment is also shared by my husband, so I foresee needing to repurchase this fancy pants body wash often. This stuff lathers up well and makes skin feel incredibly soft. The Eucalyptus scent immediately transforms your shower into a spa (well, if you close your eyes at least 😅). I would like to retract (and I reported so maybe they reach out to me) my review from a few months ago. For about 6 months, I had solely been using the old version of this product for my sensitive skin. It was amazing and did not act up my sinus allergies. However, about a month after finally writing a review, the company changed their product. This new product is not for sensitive skin and not for people who have skin or sinus allergies. It is no longer creamy but gelish. The important and natural ingredients have been moved down the list, just as many ingredients have been replaced or moved down for synthetic and chemical ridden ingredients. This product is now just like every other brand and not worth even trying. Listen to the other commenters that have been loyal for longer than I have. I have a very sensitive skin and get itchy when using strong products especially body wash and shampoos. This product doesn’t made me itchy after 2x of using it at night. It smells so good but not overly perfumed. I received this for free from topbox circle. I never really thought about trying this brand before but now that I tried this body wash and was very happy with it, I will go buy some of their shampoo and lotion. I also looked at the price in walmart and was very surprised how inexpensive it is for a big bottle. After rinsing it with water, it gives me a smooth skin. I noticed it especially in my lower legs. this was expensive but the reviews said it works, im sorry to say it dosnt. i have eczema and other skin issues and i figured ill try this out and see after my doctor told me i need a body wash or soap that will get rid of jock itch. it in fact has done nothing for both the eczema or jock itch. ive used the entire bottle and not even the slight change in the areas. not gona waste 20 dollars on this crap again.Cristopher

I like to start my reviews by giving background. I do not have sensitive skin or any issues. My review is based on someone who eats lots of fresh food, drink water and exercises so is it generics, lifestyle or what that contibutes.? I do not know With that being said, this line of skin care, beauty ,hygiene products are like a little inexpensive gem I found. I spend hours trying sampling at stores trying to smell , feel and just see how my body chemistry reacts to a product. This Mango Shea body wash works well. I find that I literally only need a dime size on my loofah. There is not this need to rinse and rinse and rinse to insure that this product is not just sitting on my skin and creating lather but not absorbing. A very popular brand does this on my skin. I feel it just smells oh so nice but it sits on my skin making lather that makes me feel like I am cleansing. This body wash is very sheer and the aroma is enough not to compete with a follow of moisturizering lotion. I just really find that a little goes a long way in this line of Tree Hut. I am excited to experiment with more from this brand. For this brand to be budget friendly and decent ingredients is a major win for me This is my everyday wash with 1-2 days with the tree but Himalayan salt scrubs to exfoliate. I follow up with another brand moisturizer or the tree hut almond and honey lotion depending on if I have spent a lot of time in the sun or inside depending on work week. This product is very mosturizing with zero tacky or dry feeling afterward.Tobias

KoI purchased this Dove Cleansing Beauty Bar in the Sensitive Skin Formula and I love that it doesn't have any harsh fragrances or irritating chemicals! Although my facial skin isn't sensitive, it's dry reactive. The skin on my body is dry, sensitive, and reactive. My body skin can be extra sensitive on occasion due to shaving so I prefer cleansing bars that are not harsh or irritating on my body (especially legs, underarms, bikini area). This bar of Dove Sensitive Skin cost me $1 at DollarTree in Dec 2021, which is VERY affordable! I'm sure you could get this particular Dove bar in bulk save even more $ fuel/costs of getting 1 bar at a time like I did, but wanted to try it out! I wish I had gotten more recommend getting more of these bars! It's always nice to have at least 1 as a backup bar! I'll be repurchasing this again highly recommend! Even though this Dove Beauty Bar is advertised as "soap-free," it still cleanses very well, leaves skin soft, fresh, and smooth! I don't feel like I'm stripped after using nor do I feel like I have a layer of film either! I definitely will be repurchasing! I have used this Dove Beauty bar in Sensitive Skin alone and also combined with other soaps (as I'm transitioning to bar soap only), and the formula held up perfectly! I love that this Dove Beauty Bar is perfect for feminine hygiene, gives a nice leather without too much of a soapy lather, and I also adore that Dove is cruelty-free! Many Women can be more prone to Urinary Tract Infections and it's particularly important to find a pH balanced, hypoallergenic, sensitive, fragrance-free cleanser that won't irritate the urethra for safe feminine hygiene. I personally recommend THIS Dove Beauty Bar in Sensitive Skin as a safe, gentle, and approved feminine hygiene cleanser and as a body cleanser! The winter months are drying on the skin and this Dove Beauty Bar cleanses without soap, without dyes, and allows for your skin to shine through with a lather even with 1/4 moisturizing formula in the bar! I've noticed that newer versions of Dove Beauty Formulas are infused with Dove Nutrium, but that may be the packaging since this felt very soothing on the skin with a distinct clean feeling that Dove leaves! I recently tried using Dr Bronner's light blue baby Castile Bar Soap, which is different all together (read my review on that) and am switching back and forth depending on how much exfoliation/cleansing my skin needs. I keep this Dove Beauty Bar and any soap bars I have in a reusable soap bar container. However, it's 100% safe to leave out on the shower counter!!! I just prefer to keep my bar in a container bc I have recently been transitioning from body washes to bar soap and want to be extra hygienic! (or am neurotic?) I do predict we will see a trend of an increase in bar soap products in general for 2022 since the packaging isn't made with a plastic container, it's a condensed version of the same thing, and is more environmentally friendly. (Especially when bought in bulk and if it's a cruelty-free soap that has environmental friendly packaging!) Again, I adore that this Dove Beauty Bar in Sensitive Skin Formula is safe for feminine hygiene, gives the perfect amount of lather, is cruelty-free, doesn't irritate my skin, leaves my dry skin soft without a stripped feeling it doesn't leaves a filmy residue on my skin either! We love the smell of original white Dove soap. It is nice and creamy and lathers up very well. It leaves the skin smelling so clean and fresh. It's 1/4 moisturizing cream so you know your skin will be moisturized and not dried out like with some soaps. I like that it's unisex meaning men or women can use it and it's safe enough for baby's sensitive skin. We always have a box under the cupboard and use Dove soaps regularly. Often available in a multi pack you can be assured you'll always have Dove Original soap on hand. The scent is still on your skin hours after a shower. I have been using these soap bars from Dove since I was a preteen! They make you feel really squeaky clean, with a softness left to your skin thats just the right amount of moisture without the feel of any sort of film you can get with other brands. The Dove White bar has this unmistakable type of smell to it that’s very sensual and feminine and will linger on your skin through out the day without over doing it. It’s such a fresh-clean, yummy smell! I’ve always loved the way after a wash the smell fills the bathroom, and then as the doors opened, the scent flows through the rest of the home. That’s how I always knew my Mom was taking a shower. 🤍 On my days off I love to lather a Dove bar into a loofah, to create a rich thick lather and just saturate my body into the soapy, creamy thickness and just let the water from the shower do the rest. The Cetaphil gentle face wash works so well for me I decided to get the gentle cleansing bars for my shower as well. I wanted a body wash but didn't want another plastic container in my shower, not did I need another overly scented soap that would make my acne flare up again. As I got older, I was starting to have skin problems. I developed dermatitis. My doctor recommended that I switch my body bar soap to this. I got a free sample to try. I will say the initial smell puts me off, very medicine smell, but then as the bar slowly disappears the smell goes away. The initial out of the bag is intense. Today this review is after 8 years of use. If you struggle with skin issues, I recommend this to people. It is a gentle cleaning bar that deep cleans but does not dry out the skin. NOTE: I live in Texas, HEB has the best prices on this product in store. Costco once a year has a sale of these online. Keep an eye out for the Costco price.christina .p

Vanicream bar soap was recommended to me by a dermatologist. It is a very good soap for people with very sensitive skin. I’ve had no issues with it. It cleans very well, has no scent but does its job. It’s great for traveling. When you use it, it doesn’t leave a film and it dries instantly after using it. The body wash is great! The rest of the review centers around the “Delivery system” As others have said the two bottles are very tightly heat shrunk together. One of my bottles had a kink in the top edge of the bottle due to the heat shrink. Next issue was trying to release the pump, slip joint pliers helped here. Then the kink in the top of the bottle along with the squared off bottle top design allowed the top to collapse when trying to pump. Let’s talk about the pump. I’m sure the viscosity (thickness) of the body wash added to the top of the bottle collapsing, the viscosity also prevents the pump from returning to the top of the stroke. I need to manually pull the pump to the top of the stroke. Did I say the body was is great. The addition of a compatible pump, a redesigned bottle top, and adjusting the heat shrink of the two bottles would serve Sam’s Club best. My wife thinks I have too much free time!PAlefty

I love this body wash, this is my second time ordering it. It has a pleasant scent, not overpowering, I never have to use a lotion after showering with this, my skin is never dry. You only need a small amount on your body sponge to gets lots of suds. It's very economical for these 2 large bottles that last a long time.Quiltinggma

Like the title said it was very difficult for me to figure out how to open this bottle. There were no instructions on the bottle on how to open. I had to find a YouTube video with a similar bottle style just to open it. But once I figured it out it was well worth it. Great value and feels amazing on my skin.EJB

We have really enjoyed using this Dove Bodywash for All skin types. We always have too many bottles in our shower, his & hers! I love that we can both use this bodywash. My husband was reluctant at 1st, thinking it was just for women, once he tried it he was on board. It doesn't have a strong smell, just clean and fresh. I also really love that it's an antibacterial bodywash. These days we all need that antibacterial. It also makes me feel better knowing I'm doing what I can to stay clean and healthy during these times. Dove products are our favorite anyway, so this was perfect for us.Debidoes

I was intrigued when I saw this DOVE antibacterial bodywash for all skin types. I wondered if it really would work with my sensitive skin. I was actually surprised by how well it moisturized my skin. The scent is very light and clean. It lingers like a soft glow all around my body. The pump bottle is perfect for use in the shower, 2 pumps is plenty enough to lather and wash. This is not my first experience with the Dove brand, but it is my first experience with the Dove body wash. I really like that this body wash is antibacterial and eliminates 99% of germs on the body. It is very moisturizing, and it didn’t dry out my skin. It didn’t irritate my sensitive skin either. It is a very creamy body wash, and it lathers well. I used it with a loofah. Having enjoyed Fresh Lemon Sugar shower gel in the past, I decided to buy a travel-sized bottle of the brand's latest offering. I'm glad I did not get the full size. The consistency was pleasant enough, hence the two star rating, but I did not like the smell at all. It reminded me of Elmer's white school glue. Almost neutral, but plastic-like. This product just didn't smell fresh or even pleasant. If you like the idea of gentle scents reminiscent of milk, this isn't it. The price is high, and I do not recommend it. There is a variety of better-smelling and less expensive body washes out there. This body cleanser smells amazing, feels hydrating on the skin, and leaves skin feeling clean. The scent reminds me of a fancy hotel's body soap – an earthy, cotton scent. It is definitely more than slightly scented though, so if fragrance bothers your skin, I might avoid. When you lather this on, it develops more like a cream on your skin and you can feel how hydrating it is. When washing off, you're left feeling clean and hydrated – not dry, tight, or like there's a film sitting on top of the skin like some other soaps feel. The packaging is absolutely adorable! My first impression of the Fresh Milk Body Cleanser was that the bottle is a little small at only 8.7 ounces (260 mL). But after using it in the shower, I remembered that good things often come in small packages. When lathering up in the shower a little bit goes a long way. The Fresh Milk Body Cleanser lathers easily into a medium froth with a slightly creamy texture, and has a light, clean scent. The lather feels gently moisturizing and definitely does not strip the skin while cleansing. Upon rinsing off, my skin instantly felt smooth. Once fully dry, I noticed the light, clean scent of the body cleanser lingers on the skin. It is pleasantly subtle and not at all overwhelming. This will make a great daily body cleanser since it contains hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. This body wash is amazing. Full stop. The first time I smelled it in the store I thought “I want to take a bath in that!” only to realize that was exactly what it was meant for. As a butch lady, I’ve spent months now trying to find a masculine body wash that a: wasn’t overpoweringly masculine, b: didn’t leave my skin feeling like I’d gone ten rounds with a sander, and c: wasn’t animal tested. Bevel hits all three and is black-owned to boot! I cannot stress enough how good this smells. I’ve had to stop in the middle of grabbing my towel to bury my face in it because it smelled like my body wash. Even on days when I forget to wear deodorant (which happens more often with quarantine) I still smell fresh out of the shower. Bevel changed the ingredients in their body wash. Instead of the clear wash with exfoliating beads it’s now a white liquid that practically lotion. It also has a bad after odor that lingers after application. I’ve notice their products are starting to get stickers instead of everything being printed on the bottle as well.
