The cleaner is a great vacuum, it has suction and easily picks up all the dirt and leaves in our pool. However, there are several issues that make this $600+ purchase a big regret.If you have a ladder as opposed to stairs, the cleaner will wrap itself around them repeatedly; strangling itself until there is no cord left (see photo). There is no way to untangle it from outside of the pool. I find that I have to get in and push the cord to the bottom of the pool, lift the ladder and free the vacuum. I tried putting gallon jugs filled with sand behind the stairs but the vacuum is so strong that it just pushes them out of the way or climbs right over them. Apparently I will now have to spend another $300 on new stairs that it can’t get behind.Another negative is that it is very heavy to lift out of the pool. When it is filled with water it is easily 25 pounds. It also has a power supply on it with a timer so in theory you could just leave the robot in the pool and have it automatically run every few days. The problem is that the power supply is only water resistant and if left out in the rain, water will destroy it. A replacement power supply is $250. So if you do not have a covered area near your pool you will need to build some type of housing to keep it out of the elements, or you can’t utilize this feature. Since I have nowhere to keep it dry I either lug the beast out of the pool when it is finished and find somewhere to store it or detach the power supply and take it inside, leaving the robot in the pool until I need to empty the basket. I have no idea if that’s bad for it or not but lifting it out is a pain especially for someone with a bad back.I really wish I had done more research before I bought it!UPDATE: The belt on one side also comes off at least once per cleaning cycle. I’ve used it less than a dozen times so it can’t be worn out. This is junk and I honestly hate it. I could have purchased 5 Aquabugs for this price. The last one I had lasted 5 years with no issues. Used for one summer. Very easy to setup and use. Takes about 2 hours to clean the 12'x25' pool. Does an 80/20 job. If you want a perfect cleaning, do it yourself.Biggest challenge so far is with the controller. The plastic pieces between the faceplate and the switches on the control board are loose. If the controller is moved too much then they fall out of place and the buttons stop working. I then have to open the controller up and reposition the plastic pieces to re-establish the connection between the faceplate and switches on the board.2nd challenge is with the shape of my pool. It is a fiberglass pool with integrated seating. I have to put buckets into two of the seats to prevent the cleaner from going into them. If I don't it climbs into the seats and can't get back out. It also can't handle the shape of the stairs so avoids them. Oddly shaped pool owners beware.A consideration is that you should not rest the cleaner on the scrubbing brushes. Therefore you'll need to figure a way to store it, supported only in the middle if you are not willing to shell out the cash for the carrying caddy.Summary – It's a pool cleaner. After 20+ years of cleaning the pool myself, I decided to spring for a robotic vacuum system. I researched all the different brands, and decided that the Dolphin brand was well respected and consistently got high reviews. I have a couple issues that kept me from giving a five star review. First, it's not great at climbing the walls. Sometimes when it goes up to the waterline, it will just lose its grip (suction?), and fall to the bottom of the pool. Also, it sometimes will lose suction while reversing directions, and will start to float up slightly. This causes it to miss debris at times. If I was going to purchase again, I would have bought the next model up. For that additional $125, I would have had a system that "remembers" the shape of my pool. The CC model has to relearn the shape every time it is used. Also, the debris filter/basket often gets "stuck" in the robot if there is sand in the pool. More than once, I have had to use the hose to spray out the robot before I am able to remove the basket. As the owner of an older Gunite pool, I find that the amount of sand that is in the pool to be higher than could be expected for a newer Gunite pool, or a liner or Fiberglas pool.Peter T.

I've had the cleaner for about a week. So far, it works great – just as advertised. Very well built. It's heavy especially when you pull it out of the water. It is definitely able to climb walls and steps. Strong suction. Even though the cleaner doesn't state that it cleans the water line, I've seen it climb above the waterline at points during the cleaning cycle. It was able to pick up small debri that my old cleaner (using a hose connected to the skimmer suction) could not pick up. I like the fact that I can clean the dual filters inside the cleaner and using a skimmer basket with a sock filter, I'm anticipating that I won't have to clean my pool pump cartridge filters as often. You can purchase ultra-fine filters to pick up sand and fine dust. I would recommend this cleaner.Weymann
Amazing. We have a beach entry and for 15 years every sweeper I tried would get beached and flip water out of the pool. Babysitting a pool sweep us MOT my idea of fun. The Nautilus CC Plus just backs up when the water gets too shallow. It’s awesome. And it cleans the water line tiles too. I received my Dolphin today and it is my first pool robot from this company. My previous robot was a total did that broke a drive belt after a few weeks of moderate use. So, when I bought this Dolphin I was hesitant due to the fact that a lot of these robots, regardless of brand, tend to have issues with long term durability. For how much these things cost, you don't want to have to have it fixed every month or two, or lose your money when owning a pool can cost a small fortune every year anyway. Not all of us pool people are flush with money to burn on shoddy equipment. Having said that, I immediately noticed the fit and finish of this Dolphin is very nice. It looks like it should hold up a lot longer than my last bot. I also was smart enough to purchase the four year warranty, and I highly recommend any potential buyers to do the same as I can't attest how long this thing will last. What I can say is that is looks pretty good quality and it has been running like a dream. However I did have to pull it up on its first cycle due to a clog of leaves in the top impeller. Seems to clog easily. Not overly difficult to clear, but after five minutes it had stopped, so it did catch my attention as something that may require frequent cleaning to keep it running. It runs well and seems to make a big difference in the pool. I really like my Dolphin so far and it is absolutely higher quality than that last one. Will update this review in the future if I have any issues besides clearing the filters and the impeller. Good buy! And good bye!

Not knowing anything about pool cleaners I feel I did a good job comparing many models on line. I was very impressed with the features and comments about the Maytronics Dolphin E30. Our pool is 19×38 feet vinyl lined and I have never used a cleaner, so first time using a cleaner. My disappointment is an area of the pool is never cleaned. If the cleaner is placed mid length of the pool an area in the deep end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the deep end an area in the shallow end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the shallow end an area in the deep end is not cleaned. At the end of the 3 hour cycle there are always a few leaves left in the pool. I was looking for a cleaner that would pick up fine particles. This was the only one that listed 2-5 microns filtration. I have only used it 6 times, and it fits the bill. It has 2 sets of filters: fine and ultra fine. Easy to use: drop in pool, plug in, push button, put enough cord in pool, come back 2 1/2 hours later. Pull out of pool, hose off filters and cleaner and store securely out of sight…and admire your clean pool. Have not seen a cleaner climb to the surface and clean down the tile scum wall. Repeat process every 3 days. Only possible drawback is that closest repair facility is 400 miles away.18angler

Robot performs so much better than my suction cleaner. It picks up the fine debris/dust and the larger debris. I have a zero edge pool and needed a cleaner for my catch basin. My suction cleaner couldn’t reach it, but this one can be used for both since I just need to plug it in for power. It cleans much better than my previous suction cleaner and better than the pool service I canceled. I decided to invest in a good cleaner and actually get my pool cleaned and scrubbed. This robot climbs up the wall and scrubs both the walls and waterline tile. I am a fan of the Pick Me Up feature to have it waiting there to be easily removed from the pool. This is my first purchase of a Pool vac. Ive had it for a few months. So far so good. Cord length I use this on a 30' above ground pool, power supply is about 5 ft away. The cords reach, just barely. Cleaning effectiveness: It vacumes the pool floor pretty well, sometimes it takes a second run to get everything. It floats on purpose: I was a little concerned when I saw it "float" repeatedly when I first ran it, but I came to realize it is popping up its front intentionally inorder to turn. I think this is what others have mentioned when they talk about it floating. You have to ignore it and let it do its thing. Filter: The filter that comes with it is good for small leaves, grass and bugs, but I'm glad I ordered the microfilter. It gets all the algae and sand sized dirt. Wishy Washy Warranty: The warranty is unclear. They want you to purchase it at a local pool supply authorizedvendor for full coverage, but I called around and the local version is about $150 more. I purchased the Walmart extended warranty for $50 to insure that all was covered. Hopefully I never have to test out the warranty. 4 Stars it does a good job of cleaning, but because it takes two runs to clean completley, there is a local supplier clause in the warranty, and I had to purchase the second filter, I dont feel that it warrants 5 stars. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. I can spend time swimming instead of vacuuming. I sometimes wish I would have gotten the model with remote control and auto timer, but that's a few hundred dollars more. Hopefully it lasts for many seasons.ME
I purchased this item last year on sale from Walmart.com at the end of the swim season. I began using it this spring. The cleaner does not climb walls , and that is fine, but instead of going at 90 degree angle and then backing off, it continues to move in the same direction. same spot , causing major tears in my vinyl liner in-ground pool. Have attempted to contact walmart vendor as well as the manufacturer(Maytronics) with no response. All I want is pool cleaner that won't damage my pool. I usually dont write reviews so quickly but this product just blew me away. Arrived with 3-days of ordering in great condition. Opened box and on top were the propaganda including warranty and "Quick Start". I thought after reviewing the Quick Start guide it was terrible because it was so simple. "Plug into power supply, throw in pool, start drinking" (paraphrasing but not much). It was just about that easy. I plugged in the power supply and then screwed in the units long cord into the power supply and threw into pool. It sunk to the bottom and went to work. One set of filters are installed and another finer set comes in a separate bag in the box. Other than that, its just the unit and the power supply.For the next 2-hours I drank some scotch and watched it go through my 15-30" pool (depth to 8' including sloped sides) pick up everything on the bottom (leaves, twigs and even some critters). I saw the video of it climbing the wall to the waterline and really didnt believe it – but it scampered up the walls like no problem. It even kind of pauses at the top of the water and really works the coping until submerging back down.I do find that it helps if you start it in the deep end near the drain to get the big stuff. I initially started in shallow and it was taking to long (my short attention span) so i threw it in the deep end. Worked the whole pool pretty quickly. I called the Wife out several times to impress her with its prowess on wall climbs and picking up big stuff. She didnt act impressed but she was (she hides her emotions well – except for the ones of embarrassment of me).Only had a couple of days so not trying to be to fan boy-ish yet. But having multiple pools that had in-wall water powered units that were up and down – this is really a good product not dependent on your pool filter, suction, etc.Highly recommend.LakeMead J.
Update 07/30/20:Maytronics directed me to a 3rd party for the solution to the unit getting stuck on the drain ***.com). They were great to work with, but in the end the clips didn't fix the problem with this unit and Style E main drain. Then, Maytronics offered to install an active brush, which is basically a 3rd roller in the center of the unit and this fixed the problem. No more does the unit get stuck on the drain!The unit does Fantastic at cleaning the pool now. I do have an issue where the unit tends to stay in the deep end of the pool for longer than it should (no longer getting stuck on drains though). So, I sometimes have to limit the extension of the cord so it stays in the shallow end and thoroughly cleans it.The Bluetooth app is a disaster, as you can read in the Apple store comments. But, they can improve that over time. The base unit rocks!One other thought. I thought the Bluetooth model was the way to go instead of a separate remote. However, as I stand next to the edge of a pool trying to manually control the unit with an $800 smartphone I'm begging to question the logic in that.—————————————–There are many posts here that talk about the unit getting stuck on bottom drain vents. Dolphin says they have a solution. I've emailed them several times on this. Turns out, there is no solution. The unit won't clean the entire pool because of this.Also, this particular unit doesn't come with a cart. Why? It is the same design as the old TS but lighter.Sorry ***.update 29-May-2019Still getting stuck on the main drain, but it does clean well for the spots it 'finds'. As another reviewer put it cleans the same spots over and over. I have had to pick it up and move it hoping it cleans 'that spot'..i think I set a personal best, it got stuck on a main drain about every 10 min.. so 6 – 7 times an hour…Also, it does NOT climb steps unless you put in front of the step 'then turn it on'.This is not a sales pitch for TigerShark…On a side note before I bought the TigerShark in 2012, the local pool store asked me to try a Dolphin. Can't remember the model number. I did and it didn't clean well at all. but it didn't get stuck on the main drain either. I liked the 'no-tangle' cord but the last time I used it came apart and was floating on the surface. When i returned it one of the owners just went ballistic like I had damaged the machine, the younger calm headed owner apologized profusely and I bought the TigerShark. I cam back to the store for something and asked the younger one about the Dolphin. He said there was no damage and that it was working in one of their demo pools. I have only spent 50 dollars in that store the past 7 years.14-May-2019I got this about 2 weeks ago and have been running it about 2 times every day. The unit keeps getting stuck on the main drain. 1500 plus tax… looks like this is going back.Today, in 3 hours I had to pull it off the main drain 5 times, we have a sports pool and the pump was not on.I had a TigerShark that worked quite well but died after 3 years. just quit, replaced the wheels / bearings and it ran a few times more..I don't think this Dolphin will make it much longer..CT

I have owned this robot for a year now. It replaced a much more expensive Dolfin unit. Its all about the baskit, My other robot cleaned the pool as well but was way more difficult to clean the bag. This one cleanes as well but is so much easier to clean the baskit. I have used some other leasser brands on other customer pools but for my own pool I insist on Doflin and this one is a nice compermise between options and price. Being able to blue tooth your robot might seem important but you acualy only want to drop in in to pool once a week and forget it.harkonenn
Replaced my Hayward Tiger Shark vacuum which had done a good job with the Maytronics. This vacuum hands down is a better vacuum. It was cheaper than the Hayward and the basket system is much better. Easy to operate and it does a much better job of cleaning the entire pool including the sides than the Hayward did. Highly recommend.Randall
The Maytronics Robot Triton PS is an amazing wall climber and actually climbs steps fairly well. It doesn't turn over which is remarkable as it climbs and scrubs the wall and tile line. I am pleased so far on most features of the Triton. I thought this cleaner had a night strobe for locating on the bottom of the pool after dark, but it doesn't seem to include one (unlike other similar unit brands). The control unit cord has an anti tangle feature and it performs better than units with out the line floaters. The control box is very easy to operate. The owner instruction book is rather sparse on information. The one feature lacking is a longer than one week program….a drawback to operating the unit without some one being able to reset the program.corvette1440

My pool is a freeform pool with a dual level tanning area, a beach entry and decorative rocks sticking in some areas into the pool. The navigation of my previous Polaris Pilot was completely overloaded with this pool, it got stuck in multiple locations and had 3 repairs in the first 3 years until I replaced it with a simple Hayward suction side cleaner. Trying to understand the different Maytronics robots, I found John Kozas's YouTube video. It is the best explanation of the Maytronics models that I was able to find. This combined with the Pelican Shop inhouse service commitment caused me to call John. He was able to answer my questions and the robot arrived in California in less then a week after the call. I have used the M600 now 3 times. Good build quality and a large super handy filter basket!!! It really cleans the floor, the walls (amazing climber) and the waterline including the rocks. It goes onto the tanning area and drives around. Doesn't clean the beach entry – good thing it knows that it is out of the water and turns around. Did not get stuck once yet! Amazingly good navigation. The remote control app on my phone allows me to go to the areas that need more help. Spend 2-3 min @ each clean. I do a quick touch up with the brush in couple of areas (2 min) – kind of fun. The pick me up mode sometimes doesn't go to the wall I want but it is very convenient otherwise. Again the remote control app allows you to go to where you stand. I have at least a 15-20 min time saving vs. my prev. 2 cleaners. Oh yes, the anti tangling swivel is a fantastic improvement vs. the Polaris I had. I would say it is a must to have the anti tangling swivel on every pool robot. Bought this bad boy in February of 2021. It is December 2021 and now the vacuum stops after 2 minutes of run time. I took it apart to check for obstruction and didn't find anything. The gears pop when I does run. Unfortunately even if you baby it like I did it will still fall apart on you.shawn v.
We love our Dolphin. We did change out our filter basket after several uses only because we needed a basket to catch more leaves than grit at the time. But the Dolphin works wonderfully and it withstands the salt water very well. It's best to remove it after each cleaning but we tend to leave it in the pool, so the color does fade after a long time of being in the salt water; but that's on us, not the product.sturcken
I was a little worried that since this said it was for pools up to 33 feet that it wouldn't work for mine, but I was happy to see that by putting this a little closer to the edge than the recommended 12 feet, it worked fine. The actual cord is about 45 feet long. You could also position this near the middle of the pool and then it only has to travel 20 feet each way so the cord is plenty long.Climbs us the walls in my 10 feet deep end and moves from deep end to shallow end easily. Does not get the stairs, but that is not an issue to me and I wouldn't expect it to climb those.Works fine under my cover and getting around floats.Great suction power and cleans up leaves, sand, and even sucked up some diving toys I accidentally left in with no problem. The operation is similar to a robotic vacuum like we use in the house – kind of runs in different diagonals and weird paths, but it does get my pool clean in about 3 hours. It went to work as soon as button was turned on. It went straight across the pool and kept going! It then easily climbed up the wall all the way to the top and cleaned the tiles on the water line and the molding on the pool! Then it went to the bottom scanned the pool and headed in a new direction and continued cleaning. Once it was done a removed the oversize huge cloth bag very easily just by flipping 2 yellow switches. The next day i inserted the washable papertype fine filter and flipped the 2 yellow switches. Dropped the Dolphin in the pool and pressed the white control button and let it go. Man i never saw my pool this clean since I bought my house! Vacuum was going directly to deep end without cleaning the pool, not climbing walls, getting stuck. Had several calls with support and they had us send in for repair. We sent a clean, barely used vacuum. When we received it back about two weeks later, it was full of sand, shells, dings and scratches. We don’t live at the beach. It was clearly not our vacuum.
Reached out to customer service, they said they’d be back to us in 24-48 hours and 11 days later we’ve still heard nothing. Can’t use the vacuum: not ours and full of sand which we aren’t putting in our pool. After hurricane Elsa my Florida pool was filled with bugs, debris, and a load of sand. I cleaned it with my manual pool cleaner but it left a bunch of sand remaining. So I decided to get this for the wifi feature and I am really impressed. This is extremely easy to use and I love that I no longer have to deal with hooking a hose up to my filter and then removing it, etc.This is so simple to use because it sucks up all of the dirt into its own reservoir which is rather large. It propels itself and even climbs up the walls. Setting it up to the app is easy to use and work. It has a choice for just ground cleaning that is a 1 hour 30 minute clean, or a ground and climbing which is 2 hours and 30 minutes. I did the ground and clean and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. It climbed up the sides of my pool and scrubbed my tile with the little scrubbers on the front and back.My pool has never looked cleaner since using this. This comes with a 60 foot cord which is way longer than I need but I got this unit over the 50 foot corded unit due to the WiFi options. I did not have any issues with the cord getting tangled while cleaning. This not only works great but also makes my life easier and allows me to have more family time.ShiningHiker
I picked this up to clean my pool on a regular basis, I was tired of doing it manually especially with how my filter works. My pool had a multi-speed pump so in order to vacuum I would have to setup the pool pump on high power and setup the hose to clean the pool. With this vacuum it just works when I press the button. I come back in 2-3 hours and the whole pool is pretty much clean.Now there are a few downsides to such a vacuum; for one the dirt cup is not that large and the "filter" does not filter out tiny debris. What this means is that the pool often gets a bit cloudy while the vacuum is running. My DE filter cleans all the water back to crystal-clear but it does often clog up the filter with the amount of dust it kicks up.However the vacuum itself does a phenomenal job of cleaning the ground of the pool back to white from whatever color it may have been. See the pictures for some examples of it in action. This model is the version that climbs the walls and cleans the edge of the pool outside of the water with brushes. In practice this works much better than I expected as the vacuum does actually come out of the water partially to do this (see pics).All in all I have been using this vacuum for 4 months and I have cleaned the basket twice a month or so (based on how often I run the vacuum) and I have no complaints. This is a product that actually does what it says it does without complications. The only part of this product that feels like an after-thought is the "bluetooth/app control" as the app literally has one button for me to start the vacuum. Not exactly mind blowing remote control capabilities…Outside of that I think this is an outstanding product and I will be using it for the foreseeable future. The cleaner came intact in sealed box. Very minimal assembly; just have to straigthen the hose cuts for the tail and main hose. The wall quick diaconnect fitted easily on the existing pool wall pipe. All I had to do was adjuat the tail knob and cleaned my pool in less than 4 hours. Awesome product for the money. The hoses seem to be a little stiffed but hope get more plyable with time in the water.jeq-enterprises
For the price you can't beat it. Needs better instructions for adjustment. I would not suggest using the wall fitting that comes with it if you are replacing a Polaris. Use the Polaris fitting and attach the hose to it. This gives you the option to use restrictor plates and the overall wall fitting is better. The hose is almost reason enough to buy this unit. It is an excellent hose and contains all the floats and swivels you need. That is worth at least 1/2 of the cost of this unit in itself. The first drawback though does start with the hose and is not limited to this hose as I have had some Polaris hoses act the same way when new. When you try to attach the hose to the top of the unit you might find it near impossible to actually cut a thread into the hose so until the hose loses it's sheen due to chemicals you will likely need to leave it on there buy force of friction. Maybe a good wire tie. That leads me to the 2nd issue. The tail. This comes with a nice perfectly good tail and an apparently week clip. The clip disappeared never to be seen again within a week. Had to wire tie it on. Unit also seems to be overly hungry for it's own tail. Have had to rescue the tail from throat and bag a couple of times. Probably means they used a hose that is too supple fora tail. Not sure how to fix that other than maybe replacing it with an actual Polaris tail. Don't worry about the Polaris backup. Drain it and put it away. This unit has backup built in. Sometimes spends too much time in backup mode. Performance is a bit subpar compared to a Polaris 180 in terms of wall climbing. My unit won't come all the way up a wall. I guess the good side of that though is it's not spraying everyone randomly. I don't like the double wall bag as it's hard to empty. Only a moderate improvement on a 180 bag in catch rate. Still prefer panty hose over any Polaris bag. Overall I do recommend it just be aware of it's quirks.warriorack
After 5 years with the Aquabot Pool Rover Jr., I replaced it with the Dolphin Escape for my above ground 18×33 oval pool. After one season, I could not be happier. In my opinion, a much better product for the following reasons: it brushes the bottom of the pool, removing stubborn algae, does a much better job cleaning the corners of the pool walls and even slightly climbs them, the cord does not twist up, emptying the bag and cleaning it is a breeze, much faster than the pool rover and you don't have to worry about remembering to switch the swivel pin from side to side, it has a larger handle making it easier to hook and lift out of the pool. It has done an excellent job cleaning my pool. I've read some reviews by some who are not happy with the supplied basket and they end up purchasing an accessory finer basket for very small debris. I think the supplied debris basket is fine. I do not know how reliable and how long the product will last but it seems to be sturdy and well built.domini1515

I've been buying and using rechargeable above ground pool vacuums for the past 5 years. I bought the Dolphin E10 about a month ago and realized I should have bought it sooner. I didn't want to spend the money but it's well worth it. It's absolutely wonderful! I pride myself on keeping my pool clean but since using the Dolphin E10, my pool has been absolutely crystal clean. There are no hoses to connect through the skimmer but it does have a cable that connects to electricity. I just love it!Judy

Pool Supply people are awesome. In response to my question, they checked inventory to make sure they had the cleaner, then contacted the manufacturer and got back to me immediately with an accurate answer. They also shipped the same day. Great customer service, I give them 5 stars. The Dolphin does a fairly good job of cleaning the entire pool. I have a 60 ft lap pool with curved corners (side and bottom) and a few very wide, deep stairs into the pool. The Dolphin cleans the full length of the pool. However, it does not clean the curved areas as well as I would like, and it occasionally walks up onto the lowest stair and cleans a portion of it but not other stairs. The curved pool sides also cause the Dolphin to miss some dirt in the curved areas. I'd say the performance is very good but not great. The Dolphin is wide, so it would probably have been better for me to have a cleaner with a smaller, narrower cleaner that cleans more of the curved areas. I suspect the Dolphin would be much better in a pool without curvature, although I still doubt that it would clean normal pool steps well.Chuck

My Polaris 360 pool cleaner started acting up "again". I just got done doing the tune up kit replacing everything at the start of the season but the wheels started not rotating and it would get stuck in the corners. So I decided to purchase a robitic electric cleaner. This was the best deal out there. My opinions after about 3 weeks of using it; It doesnt cover the pool as good as the Polaris. I still have leaves in the bottom and have to run it about 3 times. It however cleans my liner better then the polaris. I gave it a 3 as its not bad but it could be better for the price… There is so much more someone could do to make this pool cleaner great, but that might be in the higher priced ones. I wasnt going to spend over $500 for a high end one. So I guess you get what you pay for.Mike R.
This is my first robot pool cleaner and I'm very happy with the results. Apart from a little manual brushing in the tight corners and the stairs, the robot does a fantastic job taking care of the rest. Cleanup is easy and quick. Only take 2 minutes to clean the basket and filters. This does need to be done often (after every 2 cycles in my experience). Taking apart the impeller is also very easy. We've got 2 dogs and 4 girls with long hair so the impeller does get gummed up with hair after a month or so. It's wall climbing ability is great and it has no problem scrubbing the scum line. WiFi connection has been so-so. Not sure what that's all about as everything else connects just fine. I end up using the Bluetooth connection most of the time which is slower but adequate. Manual steering is tough to get the hang of. The delay is too long between command and action. Once you get the delay down, it is nice to be able to steer it to the dirty spots for spot cleaning. Still easier that seeing up the manual vacuum.
I researched and bought prior to opening my pool this year. Went with the DX4 over the DX3 because of the longer cord, duel brushes and extra filter inserts. Decided against the DX5 because I didnt think I wanted the blue tooth and remote capability. If i was going to stand there and control it why not just vacuum it myself. (I can get my pool spotless in less than 20 minutes start to finish.) Put it in as soon as I opened pool. Pool is clear but a lot of winter sediment and grime. Ran about 2 hours but could see spots that it never touched. Ran it 3 more times (another 6 hours for a total of 8 hours and it finally seemed to hit every part of my 16×32 pool. Was very skeptical and thought about returning it. Next day there was accumulated debris in different parts of pool that had settled from the night before so I put it in and went out. When I got home the pool was clean except for one spot and the stairs. Ive watched it go thru 6 full cycles and it has never gotten past the 1st step. Also tried the pleated filters which are much harder to clean out the debris. I think I will just use the smooth filters because they are super easy to clean. If you want to cut costs I would try the DX3. Im not sure if I really needed the 3 extra cord length or the duel brushes. If you want to make sure you get every little speck of dirt I would upgrade to the DX5 so you can steer it to the spots it might miss.Robert T.
