Best Dyson Stick Vacuum For Hardwood Floors (2025 Update)

I was looking to purchase a vacuum for my daughter who is moving into her first apartment. I contacted my brother who is what I will call a QVCaholic from kitchen items, appliances, food, outdoor furniture, did I mention kitchen items. He highly recommended not only the brand but I couldn't go wrong with the price and easy pay. It ended up both my brother and I purchased vacuums. He's giving her his vacuum and now I have a brand new vacuum which I absolutely love. I love the way it gets close to the baseboard with the "ball" action of the vacuum as opposed to my upright that I currently have. This vacuum deep cleans so much more than what I currently own. I researched a lot of vacuums before I made a purchase. I was willing to pay for a high quality product as I think its money well spent. I went back and forth between Shark and Dyson. I researched motors and suction as well as performance on hard floors vs carpet. We don't have any carpet in our home. I needed something that picked up the dust and dander after our 3 dogs. It had to be easy to maneuver because of our home size and it had to be easy to empty and store. I didn't want to fight with an appliance daily. I read this has Dyson's strongest suction. I can tell that it is stronger than previous vacuums. It gets everything. It met all of my wants and needs in a vacuum. It is very easy to use and moves quickly from room to room. It's easy to switch between floor and tools and to switch out tool heads as well. I like vacuuming with this because I can see the difference and my cleaning goes very quickly. I'd give it 6 starts if I could. QVC had the best price on this item. I'm glad they carried it and I'm glad that I invested.Fawndear

We’ve had a dyson for 10 years the old style all floors the classic yellow and grey. All it ever needed was filters and it was built to last. Love dyson products. After retiring the old one and upgraded to our new one nothing has changed. The ball technology is super convient. When we got it in it was like we got a new member of the family me my wife and the kids all put it together, and marveled over its beauty. Seriously the thing is a beautiful household appliance lol. The kids wanted to use the attachments so my daughter did the top of the ceiling fan mind you she’s 8. And my son did underneath the couch. That’s how easy and user friendly this thing is. And it is extremely powerful. It’s like they took our old dc7 dyson shrunk it down and gave it a face lift. It’s my wife’s favorite thing to do now. Heck I even enjoy using it. OMG! I didn't think it was possible, but I've fallen in love with a vacuum. Tried cordless before and dissatisfied with suction, battery life, etc. This model came with all the attachments I could possibly use. Suction is fantastic for any vacuum, let alone a cordless. Keeps a charge long enough to vacuum whole house. Works great on all the area rugs, hardwoods and tile floors. Super easy to empty the canister too. Very easy to change attachments for upholstery, curtains, beds, walls, whatever. It can maneuver into almost any space. I have multiple pets and this baby can handle all their messes. I really loved this vacuum until the motor broke after only one year. I guess that’s what happens when you purchase a refurbished item vs a brand new one. The overall vacuum is great. The canister holds a lot before you need to empty it, and it truly lives up to being a “pet vacuum.” I have a husky and it was able to handle all of his fur. Perfect for vacuuming hardwood floors, as well as area rugs and dog beds. Definitely just purchase a brand new one instead of refurbished!Danni

It sucks up more dirt even after I’ve vacuumed with my Shark! Now I’m finally able to shampoo my carpet without accumulating dust bunnies in my shampooer. It even works great on my kitchen floor. Best vacuum I’ve owned due to its lightweight material and excellent performance. It sucks up pet hair and long hair without getting tangled in the vacuum. It can reach and turn in a wide range of directions. The only down sides are that its power trigger must be held at all times to keep the power on. However, you can buy an attachment on Amazon to keep the power on without having to hold the trigger. Also, for some reason, I can’t consistently easily detach the canister from the wand. Might take practice. It has user friendly and simple instructions to get started. Cordless is the way to go! Note I haven’t used any of the accessories yet except for a pet hair groomer that I bought separately and that worked great.Christina

Owned homes for 45 years, probably as many vacs, because I'd buy new ones because the newest and greatest latest vacs weren't so great! Years ago I tried Dyson and Shark. Shark destroyed my rug. When I tried Dyson- the Upright Animal, I knew that was it, my search was over. I added the Upright Compact When the Stick came out- that was it! NO MORE CORDS! I still have the Uprights, but they're barely used, though still working fantastically. I'll pass them on to someone. BUT THE STICK IS AMAZING. I can do my entire 4 level split SINGLE multi room-4 bed, 3 bath, playroom, basement, fam and liv room, sunroom, with various types of flooring: area rugs, hardwood, slate, LVPlanks, tile, and animals, grandchildren,. I've never run out of battery, I use low or medium, mostly medium. . My first V10 was $700. It was worth it, by the time I bought a vac every year or 2, the cost was as much as the Dyson, and they weren't the power nor built as well- those awful belts, bags, etc., constantly taking part for hair, string, removal. If you're on the fence, or deciding between this and the V8 at $50 less(though still a good vac), this is the better deal at $150 off with larger bin, better suction, 3 speed modes, battery status. Pros: Lightweight and very easy to manoeuvre. Small enough to store away easily, replaced my 10 year old dyson, was unsure if it would be powerful enough going from a corded to cordless, not disappointed! Great suction, 3 settings if you want to preserve battery charge. Very good all round, brought as a hoover for car/caravan with a view to maybe fully replace old dyson if good enough. More than good enough for the smaller home as a full charge is about 20 mins run on medium setting. Recommended Cons: Length of charge may not be suited to larger homes or looking to deep clean on high setting (you really won't need to often setting 2 is plenty for general day to day vacuuming) worth pointing out a full charge on high setting lasts 6 mins! Again more than enough for day to day users or for a quick whizz around. To use it it has a trigger (like a lawn mower and hold down), which not an issue for me but may hinder if you have mobility issues. Not really a big deal but when picking the unit up you also grab the trigger inadvertently and start the machine 🙂Jessica

It has been my intention to complain about this machine since it failed in May of 2021, but life is busy and there never seem to be enough hours in the day. At first this machine was terrific. It sucked up dirt from both my bare floors, and my carpets. The charge lasted through cleaning the entire house. This Dyson refurb was only 2 YEARS OLD when it started to fall apart. First the slider that opens the unit to dump out the debris BROKE. That whole debris canister just falls off the unit. I have to take it outside and dump it by hand! Next I had to crazy glue the carpet cleaning attachment because the rubber in one corner came loose, and with every sweep of the vacuum cleaner, that rubber ripped further. With tax I spent a lot of money for a vacuum cleaner that lasted 2 years before it broke. PLUS I had to buy more filters after one year, because they plug up. They do NOT clean fully when you wash them. I don’t have pets. I wash that new filter EVERY TIME I use the vacuum cleaner now, because the one that came with the unit failed when I followed the instructions and only washed it when the light came one. Buying paper bags is WAY cheaper! I’ve always bought Sears vacuum cleaners in the past. They always lasted between 7 and 10 years. My Wife bought a bought a Dyson V8, and within 1 year realized it was useless so she decided to upgrade to this model. The power and battery life are better, but everything else is just as bad. This is handyman's vacuum, meaning if you want to tinker with your appliance more than using it, then the Dyson Cyclone is for you. It doesn't work long enough to clean a 800 sqft carpet. The battery is fine, but half way through it starts to suffocate for air, and says the filter is clogged. Our filter is literally always sitting out drying because it has just been cleaned. The vacuum is never available when you need it, because the filter is either off the vacuum or it is sending error messages that it needs to be cleaned. In addition to that, the cup is way too small, it doesn't pick up dirt nearly as well as our 15 year old Electrolux, and I'm almost afraid to use it because it feels so flimsy. The only thing Dyson has done right is marketing. I wouldn't say I'm the best runner in the world if I had to stop for a break and eat a pizza half way up a flight of stairs. I bought this V10 Motorhead a few months back after the new year and happened to catch it on sale for a price I couldn't pass up on. Was deciding on the V8, V10, or V11 and I'm glad I made the right choice as I live in a condo which opting for the smaller dust bin size was a no brainer. The V11 had a lot of extra bells and whistles, but not necessary for the average user. The new design putting the device in line with the dust canister is a plus, it gives the vacuum a cleaner look, and boosts the suction power in my opinion. The point and shoot mechanism is good, but just be careful not to push too too hard on the lever if it gets sticky as I've read other reviews that other people ended up breaking the red tab. Just empty the bin often to avoid the dust from caking and it will work like a charm. I lucked out and was able to score a soft roller head from kijiji for $40.00 from a person selling it as they used it as a floor model at their store, so now that will upgrade my vac to almost an Absolute minus some attachments, bin size, and color. The red color for this vacuum is vibrant and pleasing to look at don't get me wrong. The direct drive cleaner head that comes with the vacuum works really well on my sofa bed to pick up my dogs brown hairs and the lowest setting does the job on almost all surfaces. I did my research and the direct drive cleaner head does a better job than the torque drive cleaner head and it's not as chunky as well. If there are cheerios/bigger pieces on the floor i just switch over to the soft roller! The crevice tool works well when sucking up dirt in corners and hard to reach areas. The combination tool works well with small rugs and delicate surfaces. The noise level is pretty quiet in my opinion and it doesn't annoy or scare my dog either even with the futuristic sound it makes. This is the lightest out of all the V10 models. I have nothing bad to say about this vacuum as I use it almost on a daily basis and I would highly recommend this to anyone living in a condo.Dennisthemenace

First of all, a cordless vacuum really changes the way you clean. Oftentimes, you find yourself cleaning up right after dirt was produced rather than in a fixed schedule. I havent owned any other cordless vacuum bevore, but Dyson really nailed the usabilty: as you can tell by the looks, it feels like using a rock solid weapon that you are going into battle with against the dirt. It's really fun. So this Motorhead version has a smaller container and less cleaner heads than the animal/absolute. For my single household, the smaller container size is more then sufficient, there were 0 times when I wished it was larger. Especially since you tend to do the cleaning in more frequent, smaller batches. The smaller container size makes the vacuum lighter, easier to operate in handheld mode and easier to empty out, which you should really keep in mind. Also I like the smaller variance of cleaning heads. I mean, every one of us has some carpet and some floors in their flat and will you really switch heads between the soft roll and the normal roll? Brilliant vacuum cleaner, I’m delighted with this! I have arthritis and was a bit concerned that it might be heavy without the conventional build of a vacuum cleaner. But this isn’t the case. I’ve used the middle speed and it has done a great job of clearing up the copious amounts of fluff two furry Border Collies generate. I even did the stairs which I haven’t done for (gulp) three years… the battery power is great, only slight downside is that the dust container fills quite quickly – but I’m guessing the two Border Collies have a bit to do with the amount of hair it’s having to pick up…Mrs Charmaine C

Pros: It was noticeable how the rotating brushes really groomed the carpet pile with good suction & is driven by its own motor within the head. The additional accessory; small longer rotating brush used on the stairs without the long poll made a great job of the stairs. Cons: We have just purchased this v8 to replace a v6 animalBoth vacs connections seem not to join rigidly with a bit of play which will eventually put extra stress & would benefit from some kind of rubber grommet between the connecting long poll to tighten both the head & main casing. Also the replacement batteries seem expensive. The charger wire insulation is too stiff & made of some kind of vinyl/inflexible plastic which seems inflexible & eventually splits & uncovers the very thin wires next to the 3 prong plug body, which can then pull away.We have had 5 batteries with the older model & note this new one is the same. They all become split eventually. Needs to be a rubberised material instead.Ian

I got a V7 in Jan 2019. Initially, and for about 1.5 yrs., I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then my housecleaner told me a charge didn't last more than 10 mins. Because I have another plug-in vacuum, I didn't think much of it at the time. Then I hired another cleaner. She brought her own vacuum so it hasn't been used at all since Jan 2022. Just in the last week, I tried to use it and it only lasted about 30 seconds. I had a very good experience with the website and service person on the phone but I have been advised that a new battery is necessary. If that is correct, I must say that I am disappointed in Dyson. I expected better performance from their machine. For a machine that is 3 1/2 yrs. old and only used perhaps 2 years of that (and not solely because I have another machine), I think the battery should last longer. And, if the cost of the battery is 1/4 of the price of the machine, I think that is even more disappointing. And, it's the cost of the battery + shipping. My carpenter husband has battery powered tools, uses them consistently and has never had to replace a battery. That knowledge doesn't help me. Is it possible that the charging station is defective? At any rate, as much as I loved it in the beginning, I'm pretty unhappy at present. I recommended my vacuum to lots of friends at first but now, I would have to tell them the whole story and what to expect.Bren

The Good: The vacuum unit itself is exceptional, with excellent suction, ease of maintenance, run time, and insofar longevity; it competes well with your average full-sized canister vacuums, which is truly impressive given the size of the Dyson. The hype, on this front, is valid. The Bad: However, the well-built central unit is let down by tools and accessories with components made from fragile, heat-molded plastic. Essentially, only the mechanical drive components are made from metal (I think), but everything else is plastic. While Dyson boasts that the main machine body is made from "ABS Polycarbonate" (think: riot shields), the smaller components seem to be made of high-density polyethylene or similar material. Our smaller motorized head unit suffered a breakage in the head-to-guard joint, which should not be the case for a relatively new, seldom used part. The use of brittle plastic in such a high-wear area by the spinning rotor seems at best poor design, at worst planned obsolescence. I understand that full-metal construction is a thing of the past, but "full-plastic" construction is not a viable alternative; some components need to be metal, full stop. The Ugly: Unfortunately, warranty details are misleading as they apparently do not include the tools, and nowhere in the warranty documentation provided was there a distinction between "tools" and the "unit." While I understand that normal wear-and-tear is to be expected and therefore not covered by warranty, I am disappointed with the craftsmanship of a really expensive product that utilizes non-durable heat-molded plastic for high-stress areas, specifically around moving joints. The concern is that having both motorized head units break renders the unit unable to clean carpet or furniture fabric, reducing 90% of its utility, and will cost you ~$200 extra to purchase the new motorized heads. In closing; a great unit overall, but my confidence in the product is let down by the fragility of the core tools and some of the convenient language of the warranty provided. Either warranty everything you produce or make it clear that the warranty only applies to the literal vacuum itself.Marcus_W

The first point we we make is that most of the 'positive' reviews are from customers who have not owned one for very long! Wait a couple of years (i.e. until the 'guarantee' has run out!) then see how you feel about it! Like other customers we have read on here – and other review sites – ours starting playing up just after the 2 year guarantee had expired. And like many other 'negative' reviewers it was the 'trigger' that became temperamental at first and has now ceased working altogether – and the machine won't take a charge now either. We called the Support number to be advised that our only option was a replacement "main body assembly" at £85 – but we then got cut-off somehow, so I called back and went through the entire process again to be told that the part we need is not available in stock! But this time we were given another option – have the machine collected to be serviced and repaired as necessary by Dyson for £79 – plus any parts that would be required including the replacement main body assembly at £85! Utterly shameful! For £600 you expect to get something that will be robust and long-lasting. When Dyson were entirely "Made in Britain" they were excellent – but now they are absolute rubbish. This is the second we have had since they are no longer 'British Made' – the first was appalling and we were only drawn to this second one by the fact that we didn't find anything any better when we first looked around and by 'customer reviews' which we now understand are largely written by people who havn't owned one for long enough! Our 2 and a bit year old Dyson v11 is now consigned to 'landfill' (which in itself rankles and we are extremely disappointed about!) – we will take our time this time around to find something better and will NEVER buy a Dyson again!Chris

I have used the V11 for 6weeks. The suction power is very impressive. The suction is better than my corded Miele vacuum cleaner and it is much quieter and way lighter. It has removed far more dirt than the Miele which is only two years old. The V11 has brought vacuuming into the 21st century. The various attachments are easily attached and removed, the machine is light, steers easily over carpets and hard floors. The ‘boost’ setting has huge suction power, which I rarely need to use, the ‘auto’ and ‘economy’ settings are perfectly adequate for 99% of usage. I have a Labrador which moults continuously and the V11 picks up all the dogs hairs without any problem from both carpets and hard floors. The battery is currently more than adequate, I have not yet run it flat, using it in a 3 bed size house. Emptying the bin is very simple and works easily. The floor brush head keeps itself clean, I,e,there are no hairs wrapped around the roller and after 6 weeks it still looks like new. Dare I say it is a joy to use – even the kids are using it because it is so easy to operate !! I’m not impressed by many things and I’ve had Bosch and Miele vacuum cleaners which were both good but, this V11 out scores them hands down, no contest. I would happily go out selling the Dyson V11 as it is such a a convincing machine, I highly recommend it. ( And no, I am not a dyson employee!! ).Geoff

Having purchased two Dyson handhelds in the past, I thought I would give Hoover a try this time around (as I do own a pull around canister Hoover that I've had since 2007 and its been awesome) . Unfortunately, I am left disappointed. If you want a vacuum that won't suck up the smallest of crumbs but rather push them around and shoot them out in every direction causing you more work, clogs up with little to no dust particles constantly, and then get zero help or back up from their customer support, then this is the vacuum for you! Because the vacuum couldn't be returned to store once it was used, I contacted the company directly. They proceeded to copy and paste their "de-clogging" instructions, and then ignored the rest of my emails. I am capable of reading a manual and this didn't help me what-so-ever. I cannot believe they actually advertise this as a PET model, because I am using it for much less dirty jobs than pet hair and/or litter, etc. and it's essentially useless. The only good thing I have found about it is the dual batteries and the battery life. However, that isn't very helpful alone when the vacuum doesn't do its job properly. Unfortunately due to the lack of support from Hoover itself, I will not be purchasing any more of their products or recommending to anyone else.kmitschke

I am quite impressed with my new vacuum. Every detail of it seems well thought out which means a lot in this day and age. It really seems to be built to last a long time. All the electronic parts are protected. I really appreciate the brushless "digital" motor. Every little detail is engineered like the battery and charger LED animations syncing together. It came with a silent 4-amp fast charger that charges fully in one hour. This is even including that it waits to charge the battery until it is the optimal temp so it doesn't degrade faster. Each battery and the whole vacuum have a three year limited warranty. The batteries have built-in smart BMS's that communicate with the vacuum and charger to make sure the cells are within their optimal ranges. I noticed the wheels are multi-piece with rubber tread unlike other vacuums I've seen. The whole vacuum is quite simple and intuitive. The phone customer service was some of the best I've ever had. The packaging was recyclable, even the plastic bags. The regular mode seems to clean better than our old corded Shark vacuum and the boost mode is crazy and like suctions it to the carpet. It gets a whopping 9 minutes of run time on boost mode though. The brushroll head is like 3/4 the width of the Shark's so you have to do more lines. The brushroll motor stopped many times to cool down today while I was vacuuming our nasty apartment's carpet. I needed to swap batteries a few times. I charged the other battery while I was using the other. I got the second battery for free as a promotion and it's very needed. Being a cordless stick vacuum is really quite nice but while it can go all the way under couches the weight is located where your hand is which makes it feel a lot heavier than it is. The hours of online research I did was definitely worth it. It would've been a five-star review but Hoover/FedEx's communication on the payment and shipping was very non-existent. Did lots of research on many different brands/types of battery powered handheld vacuums for auto and coffee cart cleaning. I roast my own coffee, addicted to espresso daily and those things can be a bit messy at times. This vacuum makes very short/efficient work of cleaning everything I put it through. I could tell just by unboxing it that the build quality is outstanding just based on the feel of the materials used, let alone actually charging/using it. The system is very well thought out with every possible attachment needed for all sorts of mild/moderate cleaning jobs. Very compact to get into the most confined areas too. The filtration system is as efficient as advertised as it never loses suction and the actual filter stays spotless due to the design. Super easy to empty the filter container with no mess/inconvenience. Have seen a few complaints in reviews regarding the battery capacity and yes it does fade when being pushed on MAX cleaning, but it does a great/quick job nonetheless. People should understand you simply can't have MAX performance/capacity simultaneously… Both battery packs give good runtime for the use I put it through and charge in a reasonable amount of time and don't experience any sort of low self-discharge when sitting on a shelf unused for any realistic period of time. Nice to have the option to buy more packs as these age as we have had to toss other brands when the battery fades due to it NOT being user serviceable and just dies. Last point I will make is the awesome design of the powered brush roller as it works very well at various angles and being able to remove the brush roller for easy cleaning is ingenious. Most other brands require the debris to be cut/pulled off of that part due to terrible design.Thomas

If you’ve never used a battery powered stick vacuum, you’re working too hard. The Dyson V7 Advanced Origin vacuum Is one of the lightest vacuums I have used. Easy to maneuver around furniture and items with a flick of the wrist and with its thin beater bar, it fits under furniture with ease. The battery provides about 30 minutes of vacuuming. At first, I thought this may not be enough considering how much time I used to spend vacuuming. But it turns out once you eliminate the time spent plugging and unplugging the vacuum, minding the cord so it doesn’t get stuck or knock something over, or moving things to vacuum around or under them, I found I could vacuum the house much faster than I ever could before with much less effort. Not that I have much battery left, it’s just about all used up. I do feel a bit of “Range Anxiety” having just one fixed battery and do rush more. A replaceable battery pack as used on cordless drills and other tools would be a welcome addition. This Dyson comes with a combination tool, the wand/pipe, and a de-tangling motor bar cleaner head. with hair removal vanes that clear long hair and pet hair from the brush bar. The motor bar cleaner head seems to work, no hair or strings got wrapped around the beater brush. Be aware that this model comes with just what is listed in the product description, the combination tool attachment. There is no crevice or other attachments which used to be standard. Nor is there a wall mounted charging dock. If you know you will need the attachments, you should look at other Dyson models that include them or purchase them separately. Not a problem for me replacing a well-used Dyson vacuum that came with the attachments which are all still in excellent condition. Not including the attachments keeps the older ones that are in good shape from going into the landfill and should help keep the price down. This seems to align with the packaging which was all fully recyclable cardboard. No foam, plastic or other environmentally bad packing material was used. Replace the wand with the combination tool and you have a very powerful hand-held vacuum to clean furniture, drapes, the car, or whatever you need one for. The normal/low power setting seems perfectly adequate for hard wood floors and low pile carpet. The High-power mode adds a very noticeable increase in vacuum power and noise. Nice to have when you need it, but I found I rarely did. The Dyson is a well-made vacuum. Very nimble and powerful. Everything fits and functions exceptionally well, which is what I have come to expect of the brand.MrBill250

Up to now we have been very happy with our v10 – great performance and useability. But after 18 months two niggly problems have surfaced as a result of the failure of small plastic pieces that are not sold as replacement parts – you have to replace the whole assembly. 1. The red plastic button that attaches the wand to the body has broken and falls off. 2. The red plastic clip that is supposed to stop the bin sliding off the body has worn away, so that the bin comes off every time you just want to empty it. Both are small plastic pieces that are clearly separate to the main components and should be replaceable – but they are not. I was quoted £121 to replace the wand and the body – that is both extortionate pricing and a total waste of the other parts that are duplicated when you buy the spares. Dyson should do better to support customers and the environment. I will also say that we have a still working V6 (nothing gone wrong) and an old DC04 which has had many parts replaced over its' long life, but it still runs fine and was cheap/easy to fix. I guess that says that they are not built like they used to be. Oh and one more thing – the flexible hose for the V10 also fell apart after a year!Disappointed

I have always been huge Dyson fan as I find their products work well and stand the test of time. This cordless vac reminds me of the one I originally purchased nearly 10 years ago. It is nimble and very well balanced. On a fully charged battery, I have been able to spot clean multiple rooms, multiple times (hard floors with a few small rugs). I have used other cordless vacuums and find them to be unevenly weighted compared to the Dyson. The body of this is somewhat heavy for its sized, but the grip, and overall design are very ergonomic and I feel it conforms to the movement of my hand and wrist seamlessly. This makes the weight less of a concern, which is a factor for me as it determines whether I can effectively use a product or not. I personally wish that the on/off was a switch rather than a sqeeze trigger and that the option for max power was a push button thumb trigger rather than sliding switch on top of the body. Also of note, this model does not include any kind of wall mount kit for storage/charging, where my previous model did. I do find the model to be a bit noisy especially on MAX mode, but it is not intolerable. The beater bar does great job picking up hair without tangling.ArmadaJim

Purchased Hoover – 6 weeks ago Good points – delivered quickly, well packaged, looks solid, quite a few accessories, Looks and feel nice. Bad points ,way to heavy to pick up and move around as many have said before. Takes to long to charge, digital displays are just a gimmick and just add to the cost and running of the machine. The wall bracket is made from cheap plastic and feels like it’s going to break when slotting in and taking out the heavy hoover. Bracket looks very cheap for a premium product at the high end of the price bracket.. The Battery occasionally stops / starts for no reason – don’t know if this is a design feature to save on battery life – although I doubt it – very disappointing. Final thoughts – Disappointed!! – although I have bought Dyson hoovers in the past and been happy with them — i would find it hard to recommend this product for the reasons mentioned above, I had hoped for better. The hoover does not feel as if it’s any more powerful than previous models I’ve had before, it doesn’t live up to the Hype. I really wanted to love this vacuum. I was excited to receive it, but that excitement was short lived, much like the battery life. I charged the battery to full power, and started cleaning the couch. All was going well as it seem to be getting a lot of dust and dirt out of the cushions. 3 cushions in and the battery died. I charged it again and tried the floors. It seems to have good suction power, but does kick back a bunch of dirt. If you have the space and the money and want a high end “dust buster” then go for it. If you’re looking for something to clean your couch cushions or mattress like they showed on air, then keep looking. Unless you enjoy taking ALL day to do your chores and stopping every 15 mins to recharge the battery.JennyK1234

Just got this today. I have a 3 bedroom home that’s carpeted with the exception of kitchen and bathrooms. House was just cleaned two days ago. First, I did all floor surfaces in less then 30 minutes. Amazed at how much stuff it picked up. I didn’t realize there was a trigger you hold while using it. It’s so much easier then flipping a power on and off switch every time you stop or move things. I will also note battery came partially charged and I did not charge prior to using (I was too excited to try it.) no issues with how long this lasted or power in general. Love all the tools! This is a game changer for me. Also, this is so light weight and that makes it so much easier to move around with it. This is my favorite new toy! I am so disappointed with this product. Firstly no one informs you that the battery has a very limited life span – its performance will weaken after a couple of years. I have owned my Dyson V7 Motorhead for 3 years and am now lucky to get 10 minutes running time on high suction before it dies on me. Secondly I was told by the salesman that cleaning the filter just required rinsing the cloth tube under a tap after use. Not true! In order to get decent suction on carpets the metal cyclone filter has to be taken out and thoroughly cleaned, which is a difficult job considering the product's design does not allow for easy access. I have even resorted to hoovering out the cyclone filter with my Mr Henry which is a pretty ridiculous situation. James Dyson should hang his head in shame for making such an expensive and short lived product, which only adds to the landfill problem when trying to dispose of it.MrsB

The vacuum is so light to use by comparison to competitors. The suction is fantastic for a household with pets and kids. (kid=crumbs and pets=mud!) We do have a "cabled" vacuum for the main cleaning, but this Dyson is great for the daily "quick whizz over" and the quick clear up of crumbs/mud. If the budget allowed and in hindsight, I would have bought the product with the longer lifespan on full max (why would you not use max all the time!). This is because a quick whizz of the car (mud & crumbs again!) depletes the battery very quickly, and it is too much of a faff to bring out the corded vacuum… thus, only half a job! Also, when the nozzle adapter is used (for crevices), the Dyson loses some of the stability. It feels loose and you cant apply too much downward force/pressure. (If that makes sense.) I bought my V7 as a refurbished machine from Dyson. It arrived and looking at it it looked brand new so was feeling pleased. Got it all set up. Noticed it was really quiet in operation… fantastic. I was falling in love with it. It was lightweight and was beginning to think I had made a wise choice. Then things started to go wrong. I noticed the beater bar wasn't rotating. I took the beater bar out of the head and realised the motor was turning but a part, I assuming it is called a drive dog or something was missing. Not to worry a premium product would have exemplary support mechanisms in place. Nope wrong there! I was quite happy to fit the missing part myself if Dyson would send it out. I thought I'd use the option of the WhatsApp messaging service to contact customer services. I sent photos and videos as requested but all I seemed to get was a generic response of "I can sort this out for you". Of course that never happened. I ended up phoning customer services who were very pleasant who suggested that "they could send a new beater head out….. BUT they were out of stock and would take 10 to 14 days to come in". So here we have a Dyson V7 raring to be used but would be potentially sitting in a cupboard for nigh on 3 weeks between ordering and getting the part so I could use it. Absolutely not acceptable. Would have been happy for the whole caboodle to be exchanged but apparently that wasn't possible. Dyson very kindly offered to refund my money and collect the faulty machine. Now what was I going to do??? Simples, I ordered a Samsung Jet 95. An absolutely superb machine. Slightly heavier than the V7, slightly louder in operation but it works perfectly. Most impressed. So a big thank you to Dyson for letting me down, though the poor experience of your customer service I was forced into the arms of a competitor. I felt duty bound to share my experience and to explain to other potential purchasers that Dyson are not all they are cracked up to be.DavidP

This was a nerve racking experience until opening the delivery and finding that it really was a new vacuum that performs better than any other vacuum (including cannisters) I've ever seen. The best part was paying less than half price of a brand new one in the store. I've been told, my entire life, that nothing cleans better than a cannister vacuum. After using Mama's new cannister vacuum to clean her bedroom I used my Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy to run back over her carpeted bedroom. Let me preface this by staying that she had a Golden Retriever for 12 years indoors until he passed away 11 months ago. I also need to note that she vacuums her bedroom daily. My new Dyson sucked up as much fine dirt/dust behind her cannister vacuum as you would expect to find after cleaning a dirty carpet that hadn't been cleaned in a couple weeks. The astonishing revelation was that it not only found dog hair, but how much dog hair it removed from a floor that has been cleaned more than 200 times since the last time her dog was in there. This is an awesome vacuum cleaner, especially if you have hardwood floors and lots of dogs like I do! I had no clue how much the two long-haired littermate puppies we got could shed since our other dog is short-haired. This vacuum cleaner picks up huge balls of fur like it's nothing. I really worried it would get clogged with fur instantly but it keeps going. The only thing I would say is that the extendable hose vacuum is so tight that you literally have to wrestle with it and the vacuum if you're going to use it. I'm not sure if it gets looser as it gets older but I wish the handheld hose weren't such a wrestling match. If you have a dog, you need this vacuum. I didn't like the price tag but seeing the quality and the fact it will last for so long, it's a good investment.elaine.c

This review represents only a couple of weeks worth of use since purchase. So I would not consider a product based on such review. So far I am pleased with the Dyson Ball vacuum. It was easy to assemble out of the box, and Im very impressed with its suction power. I had previously gone over this carpet MULTIPLE times with a brand new vacuum of other popular brand after putting down a heavy layer of Carpet Fresh powder. The Dyson Ball picked up a significant amount of that powder the other vacuum left behind. My only complaint so far would be that the Dyson Ball is very HEAVY. If you have a big home/space to vacuum, your arms will get a good workout. A small framed person would likely get tired of using this vacuum fairly quickly. A good online price on this outgoing model is the only reason I opted for it. But had I known how heavy it was, I probably would have researched further to find a lighter option.luccia4us

So after my other vacuum I had for a long time, even went with a family of 6 over seas when I was active duty military finally dies. We decided that we would try a Dyson, so we went with the Dyson Ball Animal 2. Honestly my kids (16-24yo) and wife usually do most of the vacuuming so they used it for the first few months and when the kids complained about the quality I thought they just didn’t want to vacuum. Finally I decided to try it for myself and I quickly agreed with their opinions. Here are some of the issues we as a family decided to put in this review. 1. For a vacuum that cost more then my first car it should have a light on it to help see in the darker areas of the house. 2. When you lock the handle to the upright position it is made with plastic and feels like it is going to break every time. 3. The extension hose has to be pulled out the full length so to do stairs or other angles are very difficult. 4. When trying to roll the vacuum on the back two wheels any little bump knocks it out of the lock position. In our opinion this unit was cheaply made and not worth the money. Will not invest in or recommend a Dyson. Wow, as I am completing this review the last question it asks me is “I received a product for free to help facilitate my review.” and the only option is “Yes.” We did not receive anything for free, we paid $499.99 plus tax for this vacuum out of our money.MSgt Robert V

I would give this vacuum less than 1 star if possible. I had my previous Dyson Vacuum for 10 years before it died on me. It was a great product. Based off than experience I decided the money was worth it to invest in another Dyson Vacuum so I purchased the Dyson Ball Animal 2 (1/25/2020). After owning it for just about 1 year month I was already having problems. I would turn the vacuum on and there would be a burning smell and a grinding noise. There is a black mechanism that divides the left and right rollers. On that mechanism there is black plastic pieces that protrude. The roller slides right on to these. The plastic appears to have melted causing the black plastic protruding piece to completely detach. This then makes it so that the roller no longer spins and the black protruding piece is broken and separated from the part that spins. After going through all of the troubleshooting Dyson sent me a new head to the vacuum (1/23/2021). At this point I had own the vacuum almost exactly a year. I thought, hey this kind of stuff happens, no big deal. Everything was fixed in a little less than 2 weeks and I was good. Then the same thing happened again on 10/23/2021. The black plastic protruding piece melted again which made the vacuum unusable. Frustratingly, Dyson had NO record of my previous issue even though I have email proof which allows me to provide the exact date of 1/23/2021. I was going through this again 9 months later. This time (due to shipping delays) it took 2 months for me to have my vacuum back and working again. Once again, I was given a new head to the vacuum. Now, 3/12/2022 I am going through the same issue again for a 3rd time. The black plastic protruding piece seams to have melted again! I am now having to mail the entire vacuum in and hopefully will get it back fixed within 14 days. I was beyond frustrated and the person on the phone said that all they could do is send it in to get repaired or give me 20% off another Dyson purchase. I have now owned this vacuum for a little over 2 years. Assuming I get the current issues fixed within 14 days the vacuum will have spent about 4 months of time being repair or waiting for replacement parts. In other words, inoperable. It is only my wife and I that used the vacuum. My children to not touch it. Also keep in mind that I take very good care of the vacuum. With all of the issues we have had with this vacuum I am very diligent in cleaning the hair and other stuff out of the rollers after every use. I vacuum the entire house every Saturday which is about 3000 sq/ft and mostly carpet. Can this vacuum not handle that kind of usage at a single time? It appears that it cannot although our older Dyson vacuum could do it just fine. I believe I spent somewhere between $600-$700 dollars on the vacuum. That is a vary big purchase price for something that keeps breaking down. I fear that I will continue to go through this because the Dyson Ball Animal 2 is poorly designed. I do not want to continue going through this until the warranty runs out and then be forced to get something new at my expense. I pay that much money for quality which means that I expect to use this vacuum for many years. I guess for now I will wait on my vacuum to return and fixed for a 3rd time and keep my figures crossed. Ideally I would be willing to get some of my money back from purchasing this vacuum and use it to buy a different model Dyson. Yes, I would be willing to give Dyson ONE more chance with a different model. Just offering me a 20% discount on a new vacuum is not going to cut it when in just 2 years I have had some many issues after spending hundreds of dollars on a vacuum that promises quality. I have been a lifelong user of Dyson vacuums from the very earliest days. I have always thought that they are the best. Sad to say that after 2 years of use I cannot say that about the Animal 2. Just for the record we also have the Dyson V6 Animal which my wife uses because of her Rheumatoid Arthritis. Once a week I will do the heavy duty, top to bottom house clean with the Animal 2. And I don't look forward to it at all. First of all the positives: 1. Fantastic suction 2. I use all of the heads that can be attached to the hose and are excellent for getting into the difficult spots. The negatives: 1. This is a heavy machine. Now I keep myself fit but you get a workout from this machine. Because it is heavy it is not the most manoeuvrable. Somebody like my wife who has RA can forget about using this for more than a minute or two. 2. When using it with the hose when the accessories are attached, the machine does not follow easily and more often than not tips over. It is shocking for doing that. I wouldn't even contemplate using it for the stairs. 3. The hose may be lighter than previous models but honestly does not feel as robust. But so far it has stood two years worth of use. 4. The power cable is sadly far inferior to previous models. It is of cheaper quality and easily gets entangled around the wheels of the vacuum when using the hose and even when using it without the hose. It may be a longer hose (I think) but it gets tangled so easily. All in all, this is one of the worst Dyson's we have had.Andy

I thought the old vacuum cleaner was doing a good job, but the first use of the Dyson proved me wrong! It pulled up more stuff than I thought possible. I have heard about the Dyson ball for years, but had no idea that it really would make maneuvering easier. Since we have mostly hard surface travertine floors with several large area rugs, I like that there is an easily accessible switch to turn the beater bar off for vacuuming off the rugs without worrying about scratching the stone floor. The Dyson was delivered quickly, it was well packed and arrived in perfect condition all at a Sam's Club price. The only regret I have is that I waited so long to switch to the Dyson.KenLV

I have a total of 4 Dyson vacuums. Unfortunately I purchased 2 of these before I found out how inferior they are compared to the old ones that I have. I really do not like these ball units. If you try to wheel the unit to where you want to start vacuuming, the lock disengages and the head drops to the floor making it hard to get to your location. It is not just a defective one as both of my units do this. VERY frustrating. Then, when done vacuuming, it is really hard to lock back into the upright position. I feel I wasted my money on these 2. Super quick, So much easier than getting the broom, sweeping and hoping to get it all with the dustpan. It helps keep my floors so much cleaner. I love that I don't have to deal with a vacuum cord either. I actually keep my floors clean every day with this than if I was sweeping or using a traditional vacuum. I also love the attachments, it makes getting to harder to reach places easier. The clip/button to empty is a little hard to press at first, I felt like I was breaking it, but I confirmed with the directions I was emptying appropriately (I was) so I kept pushing and it worked. It also gets easier to empty the more you use it. I can't even tell that I have an older version for the price I paid. My mom has a newer version and this one stands up to it the same. I think the main difference I notice is emptying the canister but I'll take that for the price. I've also used this to vacuum my couch since we have a dog and cat who like to use that as their bed and it works like a charm to get the pet fur. I will keep this forever!tess.goeller

So for some reason I used to be against the expensive Dyson products. I even used an older corded vacuum that made me feel that I was correct in my assumption that they were way over priced. But after buying a Hoover corded, where it quickly failed with an irreplaceable battery. Followed that with a cheap corded version, ok but a pain with a cord. And then a cheap knockoff of the Dyson style that has very little suction, and now I broke down and bought a Dyson to try it because the price was right. First off these ARE better than the cheaper knock-offs. A lot more suction with these. And all the parts fit together better and smoother connecting and disconnecting. Coming from an engineering background I immediately noticed how so many little things had been done right. I am impressed. I hope it holds up. If I had bought a Dyson in the first place I could have purchased the most expensive version for what I spent on all the others.aruba4me2

I have had my Dyson v7 for about two weeks now, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The size / weight / no cord / maneuverability is perfect for getting to every spot that my old vacuum could not reach. I can now vacuum under the bed, on the bookcases, the stairs, the HVAC air return, etc with ease – and it also works great in the car! The suction is good, and having a simple bag-less canister is great. The only issue I have is not with the machine, but with my choice of which Dyson version to purchase. My Dyson v7 works exactly (actually better than) as advertised, but sometimes 30 minutes of run time (which is what is advertised for the v7) is a little shy of what I need. This is not the fault of the vacuum, but I should have purchased a Dyson rated for 60 minutes (the v10 or v11.) Luckily the recharge cycle is not that long – so this is not too much of an issue. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would recomend it to anyone who wants to make the task of vacuuming easier, faster, and more enjoyable.StevenS

I am so upset and disappointed with the DC50. I had no idea such a well known and well respected firm such as Dyson could produce a vacuum that won't move on carpet. My parents have had Dysons since they came out and always loved them. I saw this one and though ideal size for my house, lightweight, brilliant. Stupidly impulse bought before looking up reviews online. Now I see its a common problem. Our carpet is medium pile, yet the vacuum initially is hard to push and I mean really hard, then the rotating brush just stops working which makes it practically impossible to push. I press the button to get the rotating brush going again, one push and it stops. Its not a fault with the machine because a lot of other people complain about this issue. I just can't believe theres a vacuum on the market that won't work on carpet. I now feel stuck with a very expensive mistake. One plus though, I cannot fault the suction (probably why its so hard to push) but the tiny bit of the living room I managed to do before slumping and crying because I wasted so much money, it sucked up loads of bits and dog hair that our old vacuum had completely missed.lynsmith

I have been a proponent of the Dyson range for over 20 years; I continue to be a ardent supporter and the Dyson Small Ball Multi Floor vacuum is no exception. I have, today, retired a long-serving (7 years) DC12 – with full honours! It served us extremely well (until yesterday, when it sadly gave up the ghost). Although I was completely satisfied with the retiree's performance; but, we had not appreciated how tired it had become. A 4-bed house, 2 teenagers, 2 dogs and recent new carpets. The "new kid on the block" has hit the carpets running. We had new carpets a year ago and today's first outing for the Small Ball has been first class; visibly discernible results. Having used this vacuum over the Christmas and New Year break when all the family and their dogs descend onto us, in excess of 5 Labradors, I can truly give the Dyson Small Ball 5 stars. On a daily basis it copes with the fallout of my 3 dogs and messy husband and although the dust bin is small and fills quickly I can only assume this is because it is so efficient, my carpets and rugs look way cleaner and it adjusts from hard to soft surfaces with ease. The compact and neat design of this machine has many advantages, the first being storage, I like my cleaner to be available but not in the way, this little beauty can be popped into a cupboard or even tucked away behind a sofa or armchair! (my little trick) With the retractable handle it folds down into a small unit and in a small house would be an ideal choice. The cleaning properties of the Small Ball are improved by the smaller brush head, it gets into little spaces easily and the wand features are amazing, the vacuum is well balanced and does not fall over when you are catching cobwebs, so much better with the tools on-board, nothing gets lost. With regard to the small dust bin, I found this a positive feature as you have to empty it on a regular basis thus avoiding the musty smells that can arise when the dirt is left in the bin to fester for a couple of weeks! You need to take the bin apart to empty it thoroughly if like me you have animals, as the hair shoots up the canister and can wedge in the top, but it's easy to do as long as you are not heavy handed. The Small Ball is an all round great machine, it easily copes with a large, messy house and I can highly recommend it.Mamabaz

This vacuum is the worst vacuum I have ever used. I had the Dyson upright and loved it, but when it was time to replace it we decided to try the canister, because we believed it would be more convenient. For starters, this vacuum does not have a power head, it is a suction head and so if the vacuum loses the slightest amount of suction the brush does not rotate. The hole which connects the floor attachment to the hose is slightly smaller than a marble so it constantly clogs. I have spent more time unclogging this vacuum than any other vacuum I've owned. This vacuum does not clean – it is a very expensive floor duster. We have cats so from time-to-time I will find small pieces of cat kibble on the floor – the vacuum does not pick it up. The list of things this vacuum does not pick up is seemingly endless, but here are a few examples: coffee grounds individual staples crushed egg shells, lint, small pieces of dried leaves in the fall small pieces of paper fine needles from artificial Christmas trees and garland bits of thread bits of wool dried flower petals tiny bits of mud from shoes I've tried vacuuming the cars with this vacuum, but it does not have the suction to pick up the tiny little pieces of lint that collect on the upholstery and floors. Basically, anything larger than sand or dust, this vacuum does not pick up. If you place the vacuum head right over the small item you are trying to vacuum up sometimes you will get lucky and it will pick it up, but if you vacuum up anything larger than a couple of pieces of cat food – the connection between the vacuum head and the hose gets clogged. I have had this vacuum since August 2018 and dread using it every time. I have unclogged it so many time the tip where you insert the screw driver to release the brush from the head is starting to wear. Last night I had enough of this over-priced, novelty item – I was decorating the house for Christmas and had remnants of artificial pine needles all over the floor – the vacuum clogged five times where the vacuum head attaches to the hose and twice where the hose attaches to the canister. After nearly 40 minutes of vacuuming and unclogging the vacuum, I finally dug our old $149 Canadian Tire Shark vacuum out of the storage room and had the floor clean in less than five minutes with no clogs. A $650 vacuum should at the very least be able to compete with a Canadian Tire $149 special. After the nightmare and waste of time I had last night trying to vacuum my living room – I finally had enough with this vacuum and I am dropping it off at the electronic recyclers. This was without a doubt the worst purchase I have ever made. I kept it for two years, because of the cost of it and I didn't want to throw away $650, but I literally cannot deal with this vacuum any longer. I really liked the Dyson upright – it was a bit heavy and cumbersome to use and it was very awkward to vacuum stairs, but it picked up everything I needed it to and it very, very rarely clogged. There is absolutely no comparison between the canister and the upright! I have called customer service and did all the trouble shooting tips, I washed the filter and then bought a replacement filter when that failed. If you have to vacuum more than dust from your floors – do not buy this vacuum. If you are insistent on purchasing a Dyson vacuum – go with the upright!NatalieF

This vacuum makes other vacuumes seem like garbage created in back alleys by neanderthals that started a vacuum business, like they're lies an imitation of vacuum technology. Stop wasting your money on hundred and something dollar vacuums every year or two and hating them the whole time as they don't really clean your floor cuz their suction never really sucked and you sit on the floor and unclog them all the time. Just buy this vacuum! they have a 14 day full refund return policy if you don't feel it is superior enough to be worth its price tag believe me it is. Check on price match. if it's not on sale haven't seen it for more than $100 off. Might think it's crazy to spend so much but it's that much better the other ones are crap made by tricky robbers. Sure it is an investment but you will be so blown away by the quality of how well it works I bet you won't return it and you'll see it as an investment because you know how the other ones just break so might as well invest and have it last for 5 years and enjoy your vacuuming experience. I mean you will want to vacuum more if you have this vacuum you will want to clean your floor completely just to see it like clean stuff it is fun too use! It is bafflingly silent it is the quietest vacuum on the planet you could probably vacuum with this vacuum in the same room with a sleeping person and the person would not wake up. Almost forgot whenever you vacuum and you maybe vacuumed up something that might be a little larger such as a penny let's say and you know how you usually hear the penny kind of Slam around the corner is it goes in this literally doesn't Slam at all it just gets vacuumed in it doesn't sound like it's getting hit at all or damaging your vacuum in anyway which is very comforting the vacuum is doing its job not asking you to pre clean smaller items before you vacuum.Zeldarocks

I’ve had mine for three years and I love it as much as when I first got it. I have to say this works best for hardwoods or other hard flooring. I got one for my mom and her housekeeper said it hurt jar back but she used it for carpets. I wouldn’t recommend it for that. If they advertised it for wood floors I think it would have a rating of 5 stars. I have all hard flooring and it is fantastic. It basically dusts the floor with the rotary tool. It just glides behind me with little or no effort. It has so much reach. It cleans everywhere, cracks, corners, underneath the bed, ceiling fans. I can vacuum the house in no time. To me it is so much better than the stick vacs. You don’t have to hold the weight and you can do the entire house and never loose power. I would definitely recommend this for hard floors!!!LisaSt

I've always wanted a Dyson vacuum but didn't think I could afford one. So when I saw a refurbished model for sale I had to buy it. Even though it's ith; the charging dock, charging cord, plus a brush and nozzle head. The other reviews I've read complained about the size of canister and emptying it but I haven't had any problems myself. I have yet to accidentally hit the switch for emptying the canister but we'll see. The battery life could last little longer but as long as your not continuously running it on the max suction mode and don't live in a two story house you should be good. I wouldn't use in your vehicle since small rocks could damage it. But I'd recommend it for apartments and single story homes. Nonetheless I am pretty satisfied with the vacuum and the price was great!modestmichael89

I've owned this for three and a half years and purchased this after we moved into a small house with all hardwood floor. We ended up buying this as a refurbished model. I love this vacuum for how light it is, and cordless element is SO convenient. I used to be able to zoom around my house and get the whole house vacuumed (if it had been done the day before). I have 2 cats and like to do a quick vacuum each day so this works great for that. If I skip a day or a even a few days, theres no way the battery will allow me to vacuum the whole space. Additionally over the few yrs I've had it the battery just doesnt last as long as it used to. It does get clogged, so occasionally it has to be taken apart to remove hair. I would not pay full price for this brand new, but the cost of a refurbished is better. The small attachments work good to clean hard to get to spots in my car, and it also does a good job cleaning couches. Just this past Christmas I got the ball Dyson. I like to use the cordless for my stairs and a quick clean up, we use the ball plug in now more to vacuum the whole space. Overall I would recommend this, it would be especially good for someone with no pets and a smaller space.amanda.c

I have a hand-held (trigger 7) and I really like it and the attachments of this V8 fit my hand-held perfectly! I purchased this one because I broke my ankle and needed something to clean effortlessly since I have a cast on at the moment and my handheld didn’t come with a wand or floor attachment. I’m happy to say I’ve vacuum every day since receiving this (two weeks ago)!! Love LOVE Love it. I VACUUM WHILE on my FOOT SCOOTER(picture that!) It comes with more attachments than I can use, it has a learning curve for MÉDIUM to HIGH PILE carpets. Try it with the low settings first and lower the wand as you vacuum. It cleans the carpet without damaging or “freezing up” the fibers, it also plumps up flattened high traffic areas of the carpet. I must say that the air does kick back some debris on hard floor as you come backwards. The floor/carpet attachment does not pick up my Dog’s dry food unless I lift up the vacuum to land the food under the vacuum head. I keep it charging at all times and battery is enough for me, however, they can do better. It does NOT last 30 minutes! I’ve dance with returning or not..but the sale price was really good vs how much easier this makes cleaning for me and the fact that all of the attachments fit my hand-held.Dalitza

In order for this vacuum to run you must hold the power/trigger button down the entire time you vacuum. The moment you take your finger off the trigger the machine stops! This wasn't mentioned during their video presentation! I called Dyson's customer service to make sure this wasn't a defect. It's actually a feature! Who came up with this brilliant idea? You can see that the woman in the video presentation is holding the trigger down with her index finger at 7:54 minutes. They also claimed that the battery lasts up to 45 minutes. They neglected to tell you that it lasts that long if you use the smallest attachments. The suction power was good for the 5 minutes I used it.ThelmaSW

I absolutely love this vacuum. I talk about this vacuum all the time and I’d like to mention the reviews I see about the battery. Mine lasts for days. I charge it downstairs and keep it upstairs in the corner for kitchen messes. It stays charged for days. I just love the cordless and will never buy another corded vacuum again. The power it has and it does everything. I use it on concrete even. My patio. My vehicles. My garage. Very rug in the house. Carpet. Hardwood. Under couches and beds. On my walls and drapes. If you are at a point in your life where you want something to pamper you for cleaning. This is it. It is light and easy to clean. I’m sorry for the people that had a bad experience, but I LOVE this vacuum.Teamveit18
