I've had laser hair removal completed in a dermatologist office multiple times (4-6x each at different offices over many years), I've also owned several at home devices. Nothing has ever worked long-term. I've owned my tria for almost a year and a half. It has changed my life. On my neck, chin and upper lip I have seen a 98% decrease in hair growth. Consistency is key. It is difficult in the beginning but it gets much easier and less painful as the laser decreases the amount of hair growth over time. I started using a topical lidocaine but after around 4 treatments I no longer needed it. Now I use weekly for maintenance and it takes maybe 2 minutes in the morning to just zap and move on with my day. I use it every week. I am now working on my arms and legs. I did a lot of googles about different lasers and this one is very similar to the ones they use in doctors offices to get rid of blue and purple spider veins. It absolutely does! I wish I took more before and after! Here’s a couple of tips—you’ll know when you hit a spider vein bc it’ll hurt. But sometimes you’ll be right over a vein and not feel anything. My tip—go slightly off center and kind of play around w tilting the laser at different angels. You’ll feel it, you’ll nail that vein and in a few weeks it’ll just slowly fade away. Something very different and stand-out-ish about this laser hair removal device and others is the shape and the way you hold it. I think some people might prefer the more rectangular shaped devices, but I find this gun-shaped tool to me a lot more easy to hold and use especially for larger areas of skin. The product is well made and if used correctly and timely, will minimize the appearance of unwanted hair or get rid of unwanted hair completely.
I'm really loving this device! Easy to use and effective. I am using it for my legs it for 6 weeks and it worked! my legs are showing a definite reduction in hair growth, as well as an overall slow down in hair re-growth! now I will focus on using it on my underarms more consistently and hope to find the same kind of results there!

I have always had to shave every day–sometimes twice! It seemed like the moment I stepped out of the shower, I already had stubble. On top of that, I have keratosis pilaris, so shaving was very irritating to my bumpy skin. I had wanted to try laser hair removal for a long time, but it's so expensive to treat all the areas–it would be at least $2,000 to treat everything. I figured if this device could even just help reduce the amount of shaving, it would be well worth the price. Since the hair on my legs grew back so quickly, I decided to take the extra time to carefully do individual pulses, especially on my calves. I figured out a really efficient way so that I get full coverage in less than 10 minutes for both legs. The results have been beyond my expectations! Even after the first treatment, my legs stayed stubble-free longer. After each treatment, it just kept getting better and better. I could see patches where there's the cycle of growth that showed me how much growth I would have normally had without shaving. This was my first experience with IPL, so I was very nervous, but definitely excited. The instructions for the SmoothSkin Pure Fit IPL Hair Removal System were very simple and easy to understand. There are only 3 buttons on the whole machine, so you feel very confident that there's nothing you'll forget to do or do incorrectly. Once you turn the machine on, it's instantly ready to go and you can place it against your skin. The machine automatically determines the best setting strength for your hair color and skin tone, so there's no guess work. You can then choose one of 3 settings with the simple push of a button and you're ready to start! I found the machine to be very quiet and the actual process was somewhat uncomfortable, but it varied each time and depending on what area I was treating. There are a couple of different ways to engage the laser light hair removal system. I absolutely hate shaving my legs, as in they *maybe* get shaved once a year if that, so I thought this might be something to make my mom happy but not have to shave. Unfortunately, the only place on my body with the correct color hair is my lower legs (everywhere else I have red and blond hair). Additionally, the entire (large) end needs to be touching skin for it to work, but my legs are muscular enough that the only way to get it to touch enough skin was to also have my fingers against the end and be repetitively pulsed which is not recommended in the guide, though I've had no issues aside from the awkwardness. Also, this is totally on me since I should have read all the instructions before deciding to try it, but you actually have to shave before using it the first time since apparently hair will mess up the filter that protects the light, which for me seems to defeat the entire purpose of the product. I feel like I got conned into shaving, but on the positive side they do include a Venus Divine razor blade and a Venus razor handle, which was a nice bonus since I did not previously have two matching razors but tend to shave with both hands simultaneously to save time – much more comfortable with matching razors. I suppose only time will tell if it really works, but I haven't had any of the adverse effects listed in the manual yet, so it at least seems safe. For someone who doesn't mind shaving occasionally and who has more meaty legs or the right color armpit hairs, this might be a great solution to stop hair growth, but I think it needs a few tweaks. Once the light is burned out you have to buy a completely new unit. I'm not sure how long the 250,000 pulses it says the light will last will get me, but I could see this becoming a very expensive system over time for people using it consistently over larger body areas. On the other hand, it could save a LOT of time if you are a consistent shaver and are able to use this product effectively. I have gotten several laser hair removal treatments professionally done and this product definitely holds up to the competition for the cost. When you first open the box it is a little intimidating the instruction manual is long but if you give yourself a few minutes to read it over before plugging it in you will feel more comfortable to get started. I have now been using this for about 3 weeks and see a difference in almost every area I have used it. My bikini area has had little to no hair growth since the first use, my leg hair is growing back slower, thinner and a little patchy so it is really making a difference there. My armpits have had a slower growth with lighter hair. The only real place I haven't noticed much change is my face, I think the hairs I get there must be too light, this is also the only place that I noticed the zaps from the machine more of a quick static zig than anything else not anything painful or compared to the feeling you get from the professional machines. Ever since I heard about in home Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, I have been dying to try it! Clinical studies have shown these systems can be a highly effective in reducing hair growth for extended periods of time. When my Gillette Venus Silk * Expert 3 came in the mail, I was almost beside myself with eagerness! The instructions are straightforward and easy to follow. You prepare the treatment area using your preferred hair removal method (I used the complimentary Gillette Venus razor – an added bonus item which came with the product). This allows the Silk-expert to correctly target the melatonin in the skin, thereby disabling the hair follicle (I learned that from the very informative instruction manual). Once your skin has been pre-treated, simply plug in the product, place the SensoAdapt automatic skin tone sensors to your skin, make sure the LED power bars light up on both sides and push the button! Glide it along your skin and the Silk-expert does the rest. I started out using the Silk-expert everywhere it is recommended for use: legs, arms, underarms, bikini area and face, below the cheekbones. Thats right – I pretty much have hair EVERYWHERE! While I believe the amount of time it takes for the product to treat each area is reasonable, I found that shaving then treating everything all areas at once was too time consuming for my daily routine. I decided to target my least favorite shaving areas first instead. Once I have completed the 12 week treatment period for these areas, I will move on to other treatment areas until it’s all gone! While I would love to give the Silk-expert a 5 star review right now due to its informatively written instruction manual, it’s ease of use, and the fact that I can barely even feel it while it is working (It was NEVER painful for me), I haven’t seen any results just yet. The manual states that when used correctly, a reduction in hair growth should become noticeable around 6 weeks of use. I have only been using the Silk-expert for 5 weeks, so I’m not worried about it yet. If the product is as effective for me as it was in the clinical trials, it will be one of my favorite products ever. If it turns out not to work so well (results may vary from person to person), then I will be more than a little disappointed. I've been using it for 3 weeks. Once a week and I have noticed significant hair regrowth. There's a few here and there and this week was like a couple. So I can honestly say the product works. I haven't used other brands this was the first one I bought ever. So cant compare with other name brands. But, from experience sometimes you just pay more/extra because of the brand name. The product comes with warranty for peace of mind. To compare with the laser at laser clinics, well, I used to go to get it done at a laser clinic and spend a bit of money but with Covid I wasn't able to go back and get the retouch. This makes the product great value wise to compare to getting it done at a laser clinic. Can't agree more, the product does what it says. I have been using this product for about 8 weeks. For testing I started working on my armpits and bikini line. The first attempt was difficult as it was hard to find the right light intensity due to my dark skin under the armpits. It wasn't paining but there was the stinging sensation in your skin which is in any case nothing compared to waxing or plucking, as far as I'm concerned. The next sessions were smoother with reduced light intensity, thanks to Philips Lumea app. After 4 sessions I have observed that the hair growth is at a lower pace. I am sure it will be get better in longer usage. All in all, very positive. For notifications of my schedule I use the Philips Lumea app which keeps track of each session and provides useful tips on how to use and store the product with images, videos and comments. This was a very considered purchase, as it's a lot of money for a bit of beauty kit, but I was reassured by the positive reviews on here and other websites, and the fact that Philips offer a 100 day money-back guarantee. The device is easy to use, there is lots of guidance and even YouTube videos and a useful app you can download to remind you when a treatment is due. You need to be in front of a mirror so you can see it light up when it's ready to use, but once you know what you're doing it's very quick on the face and underarms – a matter of minutes. If you want to use it on your legs however, set some time aside – the 'window' is very small and so to cover a large area will take a while. It's also difficult to know where you finished the last bit, Phllips advise against drawing a grid on your leg! For the first couple of weeks there was no change, as expected from the guidance, but by the third session I noticed to my surprise that I hadn't needed to apply tweezers to those annoying chin hairs, and that the incipient moustache was more or less invisible. Underarms took another session before I noticed the difference, possibly because I hadn't covered the area very efficiently. I decided I didn't have time to do my legs, but I'm going to revisit that plan now because this is so effective. I swim regularly and while I believe body hair is a woman's own business, I do prefer not to have stubble under my arms. I should now only need to use it every six weeks or so to keep things under control, this is good because I have a queue of friends who would like to borrow it after me!
