Turned out it is a broken gear that is NOT available by lippert .I was told I need to replace the whole unit. These parts should be available Totally bad customer service. Easy to install. So far so good, we just bought a travel trailer this fall and ordered this so that we wouldn’t have to do so much cranking once we start camping. This jack requires some light work to install. Any DIY'er will have no trouble. The fuse is a cartridge type, I wish it was the blade type like all my other fuses in my car and RV trailer. That is the only negative so far. Very pleased with the look and performance. I like the extension too, easy to jack up. Speed is not as fast as I would like but I can not complain either. It Will not raise or lower the trailer anymore, and the light and memory 1 button quit working a month before the whole unit quit working. Did you ever run a manual jack up and down a few times on a 100 degree day? If you have, you'll understand why people convert to these! This jack seems to work fine, and isn't strained by the load of 500 or so pounds of tongue weight. I like the addition of a grease fitting to allow it to be maintained. This is still a somewhat crudely finished Chinese industrial product but with the limited use it gets, that shouldn't be a problem. I ordered this item from another supplier who had it drop shipped from Rural King. The service was prompt and the jack arrived in good condition.

The Husky 87428 Electric Jack was so simple to install and works very well. I read some reviews that made notes that the jack speed was slow but the ease of raising and lowering the travel trailer tongue far exceeds my concern on how fast the jack works. I am on my third jack now and I could not be more impressed with the Phoenix 5500 tongue jack. I had a problem initially and found out my plug did not have enough amps. The tech department helped me over the phone more than once, sent me a replacement part and now I have the best jack I owned. I decided not to buy a cheap China made jack figuring I wanted something dependable, so I spent twice as much for this USA made jack, which had good reviews. After installing it and first activating it, one of the 2 nuts holding the motor cover fell off. The other one was also loose. After reattaching the nuts, the jack appeared to work fine. Two weeks later when I went to attach my trailer to my truck, the jack quit after 2 seconds of use. Turns out the 30 AMP slow blow fuse burnt. I only had a regular 20 amp fuse available, so used that, and the jack worked fine. I called the manufacture about this, and they pretty much shrugged their shoulders, not knowing what would have caused the failure. They said they would send me some replacement fuses, since these are hard to find. Maybe it will work fine from here on out….we'll see.pangrammy

We have a 25 foot travel trailer, and this was a simple drop-in replacement for the old "crank" jack that was showing it's age. It's well made, has a nice cover and was nicely packaged. Mine came in in good shape very quickly. The only additional things that I did to the unit for the installation were 1) to use some 1/4 inch armored cable jacket to protect the power cable from sunlight, wear and tear (I already had some on hand, but that's available at any auto parts store, and it's cheap); 2) crimp a connector on the end of the power cable (which was already soldered for me, thank you very much! and 3) use a few cable ties to make a neat install back to the battery. This unit on eBay cost me 2/3 what it would have cost for a similar unit on Amazon, and significantly less for what I'd have paid from a trailer supply company.restatham
Arrived packaged a little loosely. The Jack box was basically floating in the much larger Amazon box, but there wasn't any damage. This is the same jack you'll find on many new campers. I have an older (2004) camper so I was a little worried about fitment. I removed my old jack in about a minute and I half. By the naked eye I was thinking I might have to move my tank rack back a hair, which might mean also adjusting the battery tray location, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I slid the new Jack in the hole everything lined up and no more work was needed. It does lightly touch the tank cover, but I don't see an issue with it at all. Remember you'll have to get a connection for the end of the wire to hook to your battery, but that's understandable as different units have different hook ups. To be fair I've only ran it up and down a couple times since installing, but it's quiet and smooth. It was extremely easy to install and looks great. I did purchase a cover for the power head, but i wasn't worried at all about being weather proof, I just want to protect it from sun fading etc.. they're available for around $10. This is a great Jack, that is reasonably priced. It's a piece of cake to install and hook up and is an rv industry standard Jack. My old sore shoulders wish I would have done this sooner! It was literally a 10 minute job removing the old Jack and installing this one.Shari
We have a 2016, 26 ft Coleman Lamplighter model. During a camping trip in late Oct 2020 we heard the tornado sirens go off while eating dinner. The wind and rain got so fierce, we knew we couldn’t get packed and leave so we rode out the storm, in the aftermath we discovered our tongue jack was no longer resting on a block of wood but had slammed down on the ground and was bent. Our 2 front stabilizer jacks were bent as well. We managed to jack up the trailer with my truck jack and get it hooked up. After doing some research on various brands of tongue jacks we purchased this Lippert jack. It arrived very well packaged, a box in a box. We spent about 30 min removing the old one and replacing it with the new one. It has its own internal ground so we did remove some of the black paint on top with a dremal grinder before inserting the new bolts to ensure good ground contact with the bolt heads and A Frame. The single black wire will need a #4 yellow lug because it attaches directly to the positive + battery post. We have a 2 battery system hooked in parallel which gives us 12V but twice the amp hours. The tongue jack would not operate at first because 1 of the batteries had a dead cell. Once the 2 batteries were isolated it worked fine with the good battery. I gave this jack 5 stars for ease of installation and overall design. I highly recommend it to replace the 1 the factory put on. Recommend a cover to keep the weather out.Lee

This has been a great purchase. It bolted right up to my 27 foot camper. It is grounded through the bolts, so it is a single wire hook up, which I hooked directly to the camper battery. The LED light provide perfect light to see at night. Comes with a cover that keeps it out of the weather. The total install time, including taking the old one off, was about 15 minutes. The lift works great. It lifts my 5700 lb camper with ease. The tongue weight is about 500 lbs and this unit has no problem lifting it. I am feeling a bit spoiled, I dont have to hand crank a camper jack anymore. Only 4 star because everything always has room for improvement. So far no complaints on this electric jack.Chris

Pricing was middle of the pack when I shopped but decided to buy at Harbor Freight so I could return on the road if it ever fails. The HF 90 day warranty isn't of much value so I bought the 2 year replacement warranty, making the total price a little on the high side. The jack appears to be very well made and installed easily with the mount holes lining up nicely. Two suggestions would be the inclusion of a cover (a very low cost item many others include), and 3 star washers to ensure good contact at the mount (again an extremely low cost add, but one that saves a trip to the hardware store). I tied a plastic grocery bag around the top to add extra protection from the elements, and it is easy to operate the buttons without removing the bag. So my initial impressions are good – nice appearance, seems well built, and works well. One consideration for many will be whether your tailgate will clear when hooked. Our SUV tailgate previously cleared with the hand jack, but won't with this. The distance from the mount plate to the top is 24" and the distance from the front of the post to the front of the jack's plastic housing is 5". I suspect most motorized jacks will be similar. It still beats cranking by hand, so we will just plan ahead if we anticipate not unhooking at our campsite. Hopefully it will hold up well over time and I will be a happy camper.Jim
Easy, fifteen minute install (old one was already off). Works perfectly. So much easier than hand-cranking the old one! If this lasts many years, it will earn these five stars I'm giving it. That's the real test, after all. Anybody can make something that works right out of the box. Durability is the true test. I bought an aftermarket cover for it, to protect it from the sun and rain. Hopefully that helps it last. I used the bare wires to connect to the battery when I was at the campground where this was installed, but when I got home I added connectors on the ends of the bare wires, to make the battery connection 'cleaner.'Rick
Super easy install on a year old Freedom dual axle job trailer….3 bolts, 2 wires and done! It's SO NICE not having to crank that handle anymore! Nice light to see what you are doing if you need it. The override handle cranks super easy compared to a regular trailer jack so even if it breaks its still an upgrade. Love the drop foot on it so I don't have to carry a block or brick with me anymore. Has enough power to pop off the hitch even if you still have forward pressure on it either from paying on a hill or your vehicle settling from shifting to park. It'll lift the rear end of the truck until it pops free. Doesn't sound like it's struggling or lagging even on my big, loaded trailer it surprised me. I like everything about it, including the price! And as an inside track member I saved even more and put that savings toward a 2 year extended warranty…. so if it dies, I get a new one for 2 years. I'm really happy with this purchase and typically I don't get excited about stuff I buy at HF. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!SCBUILDER
