Moisturizer prefs are personal and the characteristics of this one are different enough so that it stood out to me amongst the dozens sent in my Birchbox subscription. In fact this is the only one I ended up buying. Like someone else said, this smells like tea tree oil so if you don't like that scent…. To me, it smells fresh and clean but dissipates properly. I like the gel-like consistency and light weight, it was the differentiator for me. Keep in mind, that means your skin soaks up more of it; the pea-sized dosage recommendation for high end, denser facial moisturizers doesn't apply to this one. I use 5x that. That's not a big deal, IMO, by weight it's cheaper than some Oil of Olay. My only beef is the packaging. The shipping box was all paper so that's great, but the product container is completely unrecyclable. I'd pay more for glass bottle with no throw away pump. Kiehl's is owned by some massive company so that should mean it'd be super easy, bc plenty of bottles to repurpose.Adam W
Still undecided on this one. While it does decrease the amount of oil shine during the day when it counts the most, in the evening it's almost like my skin releases all the oil that was being held back during the day and I look and feel greasier than I did before. So for me at least, yes, it eliminates oil, but not for anywhere remotely close to 24 hours. Eight to ten hours, sure. I was a bit skeptical when I first ordered this product. I have always, and I mean always, had a huge problem with oily skin around my t-zone. However the rest of my skin has a dryness issue, so clearly I need to use a moisturizer. So I've always felt that the moisturizers I have used have increased the oiliness around my t-zone and made shininess a bit worse. This product is really amazing, I use it every day (with a heavier moisturizing cream at night) and I always have just enough skin hydration without greasiness. Now I will add one problem I've had while using the product- I work in a restaurant, so obviously there will be some grease in the air. After a long time working (i.e. running around frequently and always being on the go, not to mention the condition of the air in a steakhouse kitchen) I will occasionally still have SOME greasiness in my t-zone. However, I don't fault the product for this as I feel that the circumstances are somewhat unusual. The only reason I mention this issue at all is because you can't expect this product to work miracles, I certainly don't. But it DEFINITELY works better than any other moisturizer I have used before; nothing has met my needs as well.Seth

I’ve tried so many sunscreens geared towards oily skin. Most of them either work for an hour or 2, tops or they look completely gray. This the only spf that TRULY keeps me matte throughout the day. This formula does have a gray cast, but give it 5 minutes and it does fade. I’m a chocolate-colored girl and the cast usually mostly fades by the time I’m ready to leave the house. I was not prepared for the true matte this product provides. Most oil control products last maybe half a day at most. However, ShineBlock lasts all day. I applied it before applying my makeup primer and the results were amazing. I also love that I am shine-free throughout the day. I don't have to blot as often. Since I have been using this product, I have noticed one con. When I first apply it I can see a white haze on my face. It reminds me of the matte primer. The haze is gone within minutes. This is not a terrible mineral sunscreen, considering the amount of zinc in it it does pretty well. However, my skin tone is very dark and it left a noticeable white cast. I applied in three layers so that it could blend out better, it was very mattifying without being drying but was a bit hard for the texture of it to blend out on the skin. Still, after applying the adequate amount about three fingers worth it and waiting 15 min for it to settle in it still left a white cast. According to the box, it came with it; it's supposed to not only help moisturize your skin but also help protect it from the sun. My experience with using this product has been pretty great. I have combination skin and tend to have dry spots in random places on my face, but with this moisturizer, they have gotten better. Appearance: Out of the box the moisturizer comes in a cute palm-sized bottle that has a red bottom and a silver lid. The aesthetics are pleasing to the eyes and do make one feel like they are about to use an expensive product. Twisting the lid off the product I found there to be no safety seal, which disappointed me a little because you don't know if the product has been used or not. I took a star off due to this. The consistency and texture of the product are nice and have a whipped feel to them when taken a bit in your hands. It feels rather creamy, not sticky at all. It doesn't leave any residue on your face or leave any oily or sticky sensation. In using this product I like how you don't have to use a lot of it, a little goes a long way, with this moisturizer. I was able to cover both my face and neck with only a single swipe of it. Scent wise there is a very slight scent to it when bringing it up to your face, but that immediately goes away when applied. Now, as far as protecting your skin from the sun I think it does pretty well. In my experience, without applying SPF, every time I go out in the sun and come back in, even if it's for 15 minutes, I have a new freckle. Using this product however, has protected me from this. I probably need a stronger SPF, but this one isn't bad, especially since it's a two-in-one kind of product which is great since it helps save you money, and moisturizes and protects you from the sun. Lightly fragranced, this moisturizer does have a fluffy, whipped type texture which felt immediately soothing and hydrating once applied. It glides onto the skin smoothly and absorbed fairly quickly as well. My skin felt moisturized and supple once the moisturizer sank into my skin. I have used this several times under my makeup while out in the sun and I definitely had a decent amount of sun protection and did not suffer any sunburn or anything during those occasions. I like that it is paraben free, contains no synthetic dyes or phthalates and that it's also dermatologist tested. I have always loved Olay products, but the first time I tried the Olay Whip, I definitely was not a fan, there was this pilling effect and it the moisturizer simply formed tiny beads on my skin, which only got worse with makeup on, no matter how long I waited after applying it to doing my makeup. When covid hit and we started having to wear masks, I got crazy clogged pores because my skin would become so dry and my cycle would only make these breakouts worse, that is why I decided to add Olay Regenerist Whip back into my Olay collection. I tried this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I have always loved Olay products, but the first time I tried the Olay Whip, I definitely was not a fan, there was this pilling effect and it the moisturizer simply formed tiny beads on my skin, which only got worse with makeup on, no matter how long I waited after applying it to doing my makeup. When covid hit and we started having to wear masks, I got crazy clogged pores because my skin would become so dry and my cycle would only make these breakouts worse, that is why I decided to add Olay Regenerist Whip back into my Olay collection. Between the vitamin B3 for hydration and the peptides to help with aging and the fact that I've never had a breakout caused by an Olay product before it was at the top of my list fast as the first to try into my routine. The first thing I noticed about the container was the smooth texture and how easy it was to get a grip on both container and lid for easy opening, the second thing I saw made me squeal, a reusable and very easy to sanitize spill barrier! (earth girl side bar; Sustainable products containers has my heart and soul as well as Olay now. I hope it's as easy to return an empty container as it is to get them in the store!) When I lifted the seal and dipped a finger inside I instantly felt liquid silk just before the wonderful smell hit me, I could not wash my face and put this on fast enough! My husband is also a fan, apparently the other stuff I used previously made me smell like his grandma, thanks for the heads up hun. Changing up my skin care products and started using Olay Regenerist whipped moisturizer is hands up the best idea I've had in the past few years, and my skin has never looked better for it, even with just using it for a few days before work. The first thing I noticed on my face was the feel, it felt smooth and nice going on, didn't cake or pill and it didn't feel heavy. It felt light and airy and the smell honestly adds an extra perk to my step knowing how good I smell if someone were to get close. I've used the ReNutriv Lightweight daily and barely made a dent, it will last a while. However you need too much of the DWM cream to get the matte effect. I would say one large peanut sized amount is what I needed, so I went through this quickly. I have also tried using this by itself over my very drying astringent and by itself and it's the same thing. I do like the matte finish and the antioxidants which are nice in the summer, but I couldn't even see myself buying a vheap cream every month as if I need the money for other things I rather have a jar last a while. This is honestly the best day cream I have ever used. Unfortunately you do get what you pay for, as I have tried so many cheaper brands that turned out to be a waste of money! I have really oily skin and my face is so shiny. I used to have to apply powder several times a day to keep my face matte, but since using this cream I don't have to do it nearly so often. This little cream is like a magic elixir for those of us suffering with dry, sensitive (hormonal) skin. It’s so very soothing and hydrates so deeply. It doesn’t sit on the surface of the skin like so many other products marketed to dry skin. It actually sinks in and makes your skin feel more balanced and noticeably softer to the touch. Plus, there is no scent, which is such an added bonus. It wears very well under makeup with no pilling. Instead, I feel it helps my makeup to glide on easier as my face is prepped. It’s such a good price as well. For us in Canada a 40ml tube is 40$ which is so economical considering what I usually pay for skin care. It’s helped my skin so much this winter as we’ve been in lockdown and stuck inside with the heat on all day. I am 24 years old and I always have rashes on one cheek, especially before menstruation. I accidentally bought this cream in a pharmacy and used it in the morning and at night. I am very surprised that the cream coped with the rashes in two weeks and now I have only traces left! This is just a super cream for the last 3 years! This moisturizer is incredible! The only one i've been able to find that doesn't make my face freak out. It is a gel that feels like it gives your skin a fresh glass of water. I get that great "glass" shine when it dries. Super light weight and it doesn't dry sticky or stiff. The only downside I can even think of would be that it's not that moisturizing. This is an amazing moisturizer for combination skin and acne-prone skin! The texture was really nice and felt great on the skin; it's light but moisturizing and doesn't weigh the skin down (you'll forget you were wearing it!) My bottle has lasted quite a while which goes to say that a little goes a long way with this product! I will say because it doesn't have the thickest coverage, I'm not sure how this would fare with people with drier skin types, so I only used this at night before bed during the winter. This moisturizer is considered for sensitive skin that has a very lightweight texture, however, I have noticed that putting it on a damp skin can be really irritating, it burns the skin. So after cleansing your skin make sure it’s not damp to avoid burning sensation. My skin took a month and a half to adjust to it, however, I still sometimes get that burning sensation. Although I still cannot understand why it had that burning effect, my guess is probably a damaged skin barrier.. but who knows.. Also this moisturizer doesn’t have any specific scent, it’s fragrance free which is good for people with sensitive skin. And it is oil-free and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores. I have very low standards for skincare because my skin is not very sensitive, but this is easily the WORST moisturizer I have ever used. It leaves a white cast on your skin ALL DAY (impressive how long the cast lasts I guess). It is also called an “oil control” moisturizer but it strips my entire face of ANY oil. There's a reason why Sunday Riley is in my top three favorite brands. Literally everything I have tried from this brand just works for my skin. This serum has a light lotion feel. If you have normal skin like myself it can be hydrating enough on its own. If not it layers well with other products. It absorbs into the skin like a dream and leaves it feeling smooth to the touch. It does have a light citrus scent that doesn't linger after application. Containing 15% stabilized vitamin c it helps protect against the elements and also helps to firm, brighten and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also have fade dark spots. My skin has changed a lot throughout the past years. I personally as of now struggle with comedones. I was acne prone as a teenager and have gained clear skin through birth control as well as spironolactone. Still looking for something to get rid of these comedones. Using this was very good for comedones considering it dries out those follicles that way the excess oil and sebum will be prevented from clogging a pore. However, if you struggle with dry skin do not use this. Unless you are applying pure aloe vera and coconut oil on your face 3 times a day this is not the product for you. My nose started peeling and flaking after 2 days of using it. I only applied it once each 2 nights. So I started using the JUNO face oil each night and the U.F.O. some mornings, which definitely worked in my favor. I used to struggle with oily skin but with the spironolactone it has definitely taken away those oils. If you also use another acne treatment definitely do not do this because that can cause irritation and a reaction. If you struggle with pores, acne, and have oily skin then i definitely recommend this product. Definitely not good for normal or sensitive skin either.koszmar
This was my first product from Sunday Riley. It was recommended to me by the Real Skincare Discussion. I started to get more acne and breakouts as I got older, but I was put on prescription creams for them. I believe this is why my skin disliked this serum. I started very slowly with a small patch test, and when I worked up to my whole face, I broke out everywhere. Although I used the prescription cream and this serum at opposite times of the day, I think it was simply too much for my skin. Either that or my face cannot tolerate one or more of the ingredients. However, I have found that if I use it on body acne as a light spot treatment, it does help with size and redness. I have been using the serum on my boyfriend’s face instead (always putting it in my clean hands first) and any breakouts, clogged pores and blackheads have noticeably improved with this. He gets compliments on his skin all the time, but I don’t get any of the credit for introducing him to this or any type of skincare routine at all lol. It's also affordable so if it doesn't work for you, it wouldn't affect you that much. I have loved Naturium’s multi peptide moisturizer for many months. When I saw the brand was coming out with an acne line I was thrilled! I still struggle with hormonal acne, sensitive skin, and clogged pores. When I first saw the acne line in store, I knew I had to try a product or two. At the time, my skin was extremely irritated and I had broken out badly from a cleansing balm I tried one time from another brand. I decided to try this moisturizer first from the acne line. I’ve used it for a week and can say that my acne has subsided, my skin is less irritated, and my texture has improved. This product is so hydrating, smooth, and luxurious. I love that Naturium has a salicylic acid moisturizer to get deep into the pores, but the percentage is low enough to still fight the acne without drying out the skin. I have oily/combo skin and was trying to figure out how to add salicylic acid to my routine and this is perfect! I use this as my daytime moisturizer. It goes on silky smooth. Had been using this cream for about 3 years, then i started using retinol and this cream irritated the s*it out of my face, like full on redness and burning sensation. I tried incorporating it on my routine for like 2 weeks and it kept irritating me, so i had to stop. Its good for a basic routine of cleanser- moisturizing- sunscreen, but the parfum in it might be reactive with other heavier creams or ingredients. I started using this cream because my dermatologist recommended it after starting taking Accutane to treat my acne. Because of the treatment my skin became extremely dry, irritated and literally nothing would help me. This is really the only cream that would moisturize my skin and sooth it. I have rosacea so I read this is calming and I decided to try it. It works well for my redness and irritation. I mix it with my Avene Tolerance Control Cream and get a great skin barrier for up to 9 hours. All Avene products have worked well for me. They are some of the best!! Hope this helps someone!!

you don't need an EYECREAM. EYECREAM is just your mosituriser in a compact form in a higher concentrations. literally this is a luxury item which you can and should skip. just apply an extra layer of your moisturizer to your eye area, and I promise you, you will see the same results as your eye cream. that being said, no one told me this when I got into K beauty and getting addicted to it. so now, EYECREAM is just in my routine and I can't seem to NOT use one. coming to the product, it's specifically for Dry skin people who live in a dry climate. change any of these two variable, and this might be too oily for you. you will enjoy it if you have dry skin in a dry climate. climate is a very important factor. for anyone from normal to oily or dehydrated skin, this can be too much. for dry skin, this is very refreshing, it's has a nice smell, doesn't give you milia (I have milia prone skin), and definitely wakes you up. doesn't do much for puffy eyes, recommend you to get the eye ball version of this. but it's definitely a refreshing product.
Loved it. I'm very hesitant with under-eye products because I tend to get small bumps under my eyes when trying out different eye creams. This is the only eye cream I swear by! I suffer from incredibly dry skin and in the winter, it’s not unusual for me to even have patches of eczema on my face / around my eyes. After trying literally tons of eye creams, I found this one! This is the only eye cream I’ve ever used that has helped heal my skin around my eyes and then keep that area hydrated! I use a pea sized amount total for both eyes and gently rub / pat the cream into my eye area. It absorbs quickly and I’ve never had an issue applying makeup over it. This is a great eye cream for someone with dry eyelids / eye area and is looking for a product simply to hydrate and maintain that hydration. I wouldn’t say this eye cream targets more than that, so it might not be great for everyone. I was hesitant to buy it because of all the reviews that say the previous formula was better. But decided to buy and try it because I have an oily acne prone skin and need a sunscreen that doesn’t make me break out nor shiny. I was also looking for a light daily moisturizer. So this looked as 2 birds with one stone to me. I’m glad I didn’t pay attention to those reviews snd bought it because it turned out to be exactly what I wanted. However I agree that it’s not mattifier as it used to be, but doesn’t matter to me because it stays matt and I need to wash my face and refresh my sunscreen in every couple of hours anyway. Also I like this one better than the old formula because I didn’t like the thickness of that one and this one is easier to spread on the skin. I’m giving it 4 star because I think Murad should have released this as a separate product (a matte sunscreen+moisturizer ) and not as a replacement for the old formula (mattifier+moisturizer). I REALLY loved this moisturizer. I have combination skin, my T-Zone gets oily and my chin area is super dry. I been using this for about a week and I really like it. It leaves my T-zone matte all day and reduces the appearance of my pores. My skin feels soft after applying this moisturizer and I like how my face doesn't feel dry and stiff. The fact that it has SPF 45 is a plus! This also works great as a matte makeup primer. This was my first time using a Murad product and I'm very impressed. I've owned this product for at least six months now and used it probably five times a week, so I feel confident in writing a review. The SPF works fine. The mattifying effect isn't that significant, but it certainly doesn't make me MORE shiny throughout the day. Once it's on, it's a perfectly fine sunscreen. The application, however, gives me hypertension. Because it's a white sunscreen, it does give me a white cast on my cheeks upon rubbing it in, which I could hypothetically fix by rubbing it in more if it didn't immediately start PILLING. Have you ever seen a sweater that's been through the wash a thousand times? Imagine my face is the sweater, and I just get tiny little bits of sunscreen that come through the more I try to rub this in. Then I have to wipe or rinse my fingers off and try to keep going, but by that time it's dried onto my face and the white cast is there to stay. Now, I've been using this for six+ months, so clearly the application issues are not as severe as they might sound. However, I'm lazy and don't want to have to look for a new product that does the exact same thing without pilling when I rub it in, so I simply resign myself to daily frustration. This face lotion is amazing. It is the only product that worked for me this past winter. My apartment is extremely dry, causing my skin to dry out and flake in the winter. It was extra bad this year with mask usage. I started using this in the AM/PM after cleansing and it completely moisturized and soothed my skin. No flaking, less redness. I am on my second tub of this moisturiser and I absolutely love it. I have dry/ combination skin (dry around my nose and oily on my t-zone) so it is really hard to find a product that will hydrate and get rid of dry patches while also balancing out oil. Since using this product for the last 7 months, my skin has visibly cleared. Dry patches have disappeared and I breakout a lot less frequently. The consistency is almost jelly like, I was skeptical at first but this actually ensures you only need a little bit of product, it melts in the warmth of your hands so is super easy to distribute. I also have very sensitive skin and this has not given me a reaction in the slightest. Overall, this is my holy grail of moisturisers, but it does come at a high cost. If you have the disposable income for a price like this- go for it. If not, there are many other products that give a similar effect and may be better for your skin type. I’ve been using this item for over 2 weeks now and it’s made a big difference in my appearance and my breakouts. For me, when I now have a breakout I apply this on it and it reduces the redness and basically shrinks it and makes go away in a few days rather then lasting a week. I use foaming cleanser day and night. then in the evenings I follow with the control gel. Then in the morning I use the retinol that is within the blemish control range and after that I use the facial moisturiser 30spf. The retinol is great for the post-acne marks and this definitely helps reduce breakouts as well. This routine has worked for me, not completely getting rid of them but definitely reducing the appearance. I would definitely recommend these products.Ryan14
This product is fantastic! I've been using it daily alongside the Blemish Control Cleanser in an evening as part of my night time routine and wow! The difference in my skin is unbelievable. It applies to my skin well and really targets those areas of my face that dry out and have blackheads persistently particularly around my nasal and cheek areas. It leaves my skin well hydrated and doesn't leave a greasy texture on my face which I find with alot of these types of products is a huge problem. The packaging looks great too. A little goes a long way for this gel moisturiser as you don't need a lot to cover your whole face. It is a very gentle product but I did find it is quite sticky upon application and does take a while to sink into the skin. There was also no clear instructions on the packaging or product how to use it. I had to refer to the leaflet that came with the product test. It is a small tube of gel moisturiser so think it would be better to use this sparingly on blemish prone areas instead of all over the face. I did notice a difference in skin using this when targeting specific problem areas.Lien863
