This product works really well if you want a gel with a strong hold! Its affordable and best if you want to get rid of fly aways for a nice sleek look. All you have to do is apply the gel to damp hair, brush the fly aways (go over it a couple times if you have thick hair), and then wrap a satin scarf around your hair for a bit. After this is done your hair will be nicely laid. It also works well for a range of curly/kinky hair types from 3a-4c and more. The only critique that I have is that it doesn't shine as much and for certain hairstyles, I want a nice shiny sleek look. This has the texture of a cream more than a gel, but still has quite a bit of hold for a thinner product. I have 3B ish hair that is very easily weighed down when wet, and this did a great job of giving enough hold without being too heavy. I also liked that I could use a lot of it (to get the benefits of a creamier texture) without getting weighed down. I am looking forward to trying the rest of the line, as this was such a nice experience! I think it would work well for a lot of different hair textures, as you can easily layer it or use less depending on your needs. First, I wouldn't call this product a gel. It's more of a cream gel, which should've been my first indication it wasn't going to work for me. Smell is good, product feels good. I purchased this 8.3 oz bottle on Amazon and the price was too good to pass up. It's called curl defining lotion which made me think it would have like a thick consistency like a leave-in conditioner would. I was wrong. It's a very thin liquidy consistency not like any lotion I would use . The product is bright yellow which I don't like . Why add unnecessary colorants to a hair product ? This product works great for my hair. It tames down my frizz so my curls can stand out. I use the Marc Anthony curl cream product too. Together, they work well. It dosen't crunch your curls, it keeps it smooth and natural looking. I wouldn't recommend applying too much because it will show in your hair. The results are not long lasting and you may have to apply more throughout the day. I purchased this item from the reviews I read about the hold it gave to edges. I was looking for something for my locs that would not make my hair brittle, white, etc. I dont find this product to produce those affects, but it does not hold my edges. I don't make it out the door in the morning without them rising, and I have soft fine hair. I've tried to add water first, then the product. No water, and just the product, adding a wrap for a few minutes while I dress without great results for the entire day. I like the smell of it however, that's a plus. This is, hands down, my ultimate HOLY GRAIL gel. I have 2b/c (waves), high porosity, fine/thin hair…this stuff is absolutely magic! I layer this over a mousse or foam in the summer for beautiful, bouncy, loose curls (I always have 2 ringlets underneath all the waves) OR under a hard hold gel in winter…either time of year it can be used alone beautifully but in conjuction with other stuff my results are amazing. LOVE SO MUCH! I have tight curls that boarder coils (like the princess in Brave) so i usually have to use a TON of product but I got amazing results without needing to use 1/2 a bottle of product! This was the routine: 1. Detangle in the shower, apply shampoo to roots/ scalp and massage in, making sure to scrub (No lather but when rinsing it felt very clean, like squeaky clean! My scalp is very happy) 2. Coily Conditioner- I opted for a more intense conditioner since my stylist said i was so under moisturizing and I am sick of needing to use a 1/4 of a bottle on my hair every wash day. Leave in Conditioner – Upside down and de tangled I squeezed some of the water out of my clumps so the product would just be rinsed away and then Smoothed in about 1/2 an eggs worth of leave in and combed through with my fingers, added a little bit more water to train the curls and scrunched in another marble of conditioner. 4. Gel – gel felt almost like a sticky conditioner and I didn’t feel like I needed a ton, probably applied 1/2 of what i used in the leave in. 5. Pattern towel – loved that the towel was extra large 6. Air dry 7. Jojoba oil- When my hair was almost 100% dry (just damp enough to be cool to the touch but not feel wet and just a little crunchy) I scrunched out the crunch with a few drops of the oil and my hair went from looking pretty normal to SO SHINY. LOVE, Love, love it! I initially only bought the style cream, which was hard to distribute through wet hair and made it tacky. Then I noticed the style gel on the website and saw that it was a CREAM gel. Bought it, tried it on my wet hair after applying the leave in, then finished with the Jojoba oil blend and, "WOW!" my waves instantly popped and were elongated. My 2C/3A hair is transitioning and I chose not to do the "big chop", but whether I twist, braid, or bantu knot style, this gel provides superior slip and juicy moisture on wet hair and gives me an almost even wave pattern from root to end. It air dries soft (not glass hard like traditional gels) within a day, and makes my waves–even at the crown roots–feel like butter! I now only use the styling cream on dry hair when re-moisturizing and reactivating waves, as that works better for me. I really like this mousse for my waves/curls but I wish it combated humidity. it sadly doesn't hold up throughout the hot days either, regardless of scrunching out the light crunch or not. my hair is between chin and tops of shoulders and cut shaggy so I know its not the length weighing it down and i only use one other product with it, Olaplex smoothing bond styling creme. overall though i do like it a lot. but once this bottle is finished ill be on the hunt for another mousse that can withstand the heat and humidity.kalirocker
So i had really high hopes for this because the brand looked interesting and the smell was great. I tried it once on freshly washed hair to see what it could do as a stand alone product. The answer was…. absolutely nothing. I saw my waves starting to leave their clumps even while i was putting it through my wet hair because it encouraged so much frizz. I chalked it up to not using it right so i used it again a few days later on damp unwashed hair with my normal defining cream and it looked promising! For about 2 hours after it dried at least. Then my hair was just a poofy frizzy mess. I may try it again and use my gel, but i am no lomger feeling optimistic about this product. At first I thought, “WOW, I can finally afford an Ouidad product!” But then I slowly realized that this is did not fall to the same standard as the regular Ouidad products. I have fine wavy/curly hair that tends get frizzy and dry out sometimes and decided to give this a try after seeing other curly hair bloggers review it. Sadly this gel gives no cast and also gives very little definition hold. In even slighlty humid weather this means that your hair goes from lovely defined curls after diffusing to a big fluffy mess after a few hours. In the winter/early spring it wasn't quite so bad, but it took forever to feel dry. It doesn't leave my hair moisturized and also has a weird tacky feel soon after applying. I haven't tried other products in this line but will not be repurchasing. If at Target, you're better off trying the NYM curl gel, Aussie Instant Freeze or another product.S Smith

I received the Age Beautiful Starter Kit from [brand:zotos-professional] and Influenster for my review. I'm far from a professional stylist, however have been coloring my hair for the last 20 years and normally use the same red color every 4 weeks! Not with the Age Beautiful Starter Kit! My color is still going strong after 6 weeks and my greys are just starting to pop up and also didn't fade within the first few weeks. With my usual color it leaves my hair dull and dry feeling. Not with this product, my hair feels so much softer, more nourished and is much shinier than it would with my normal color. The smell was tolerable and not as strong as other hair colors I've used. The color matched my normal color almost identically, which for me was a game changer. Application was easy and one bottle was enough for my whole head. This product is now my new go to hair color! My hair has never looked or felt better and the fact that I don't have to recolor after 4 weeks is amazing. I never thought I would find a color that would cover my greys and not fade so quickly, boy was I proven wrong. I recommend this hair color to any one who colors their hair especially for grey coverage. I received this kit complimentary from Influenster, in exchange for my honest review. And it’s about to get real honest…. Let me start off by saying that my hair looked good after using this kit, HOWEVER, this is also a situation of “all that glitters is not gold.” My hair looked really good, but that has more to do with my hair than these products. This kit is marketed to kinkier curls in the 3c and up range, but to be frank… it doesn’t provide that 3c plus moisture. No Lather Cleanser- 3/5 stars- I liked this but please realize that it does not clarify. It works well if you don’t use silicones, but it will NOT remove layers of build up. That said, my hair was soft after using it. It just wasn’t better than any other shampoo I already own. That’s when it went downhill. I used a clarifying shampoo after the no poo, so I could give an honest review on the conditioner. Daily Cream Conditioner 0/5 stars- I left it on overnight, as I do with all of my good conditioners, and my hair was a dry, knotty MESS. My poor hair was thirsty and it took a really long time to gently untangle it after using this. It felt like I hadn’t conditioned my hair at all. The slip is terrible and I had to use another conditioner to remedy the situation before moving on to the detangler. I was HIGHLY disappointed. Luxe Leave in Detangler (my kit did not come with the gel)- 0/5 stars- this wouldn’t have helped with detangling. I used it after I applied a second conditioner and detangled my hair. It made my hair feel even DRIER, AFTER I used a second conditioner to remedy the thirst. This was nonsense and I don’t even know why it’s included. It felt like I didn’t put anything on my hair, but somehow needed to apply MORE conditioner after using it. Taming Cream- 3.5/5 stars- this helped with a nice hold and gave me a smidge of moisture…. But that little bit of moisture wasn’t enough to combat the dryness. Overall, my curls and texture looked lovely, but there was more frizz than normal and my hair just didn’t *feel* healthy. I personally won’t use this kit again, but may give the taming cream another shot with other products. I received this kit complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
It received the All About Curls Vox Box, and I decided to also try these products on my Grandson also since he has a different curl pattern than I do, and his hair is very dry. He also has very sensitive skin, so I'll note none of these products bothered nor irritated his skin. Which surprised us all. If you look at his before and after photos, you can definitely see the difference. I cannot say I was more impressed with one product than another. I definitely love the Lo-Lather Cleanser, Quenched Cream Conditioner, and Taming Cream, but I just think all four products work so well together. Because my hair is so dark, damage visibly appears on my ends very quickly. My hair even when primed or dirty never holds a curl for more than a few hours, especially in the heat. I put this to the test over the weekend on a trip where it was humid and temps were in the low 90s. Not only did my curl hold the entire day, I woke up with beachy waves. A few more spritzes of the heat protecting spray, a curling iron and finishing with the polishing primer I had another day of curls in 1520 minutes.I have never been sold on heat protection sprays because they tend to get sticky. I never thought to use a heat protectant spray until I started following Negin on social media. I was going through a phase of curling my hair frequently and noticed it was starting to damage my hair so I decided to give this product a try. I noticed an improvement on how my hair feels when I use it vs when I dont. I also love how it doesnt leave a sticky residue like a lot of other heat protectant sprays. The scent is similar to all Gisou products. I found that based on reviews its either a love or hate. I personally dont mind it. Its not overpowering, has light floral notes. It reminds me of something from my past. A lot of the Gisou branding has a very 80s90s vibe which I love since I am an 80s baby. She puts a lot care and attention into her products which I love. This product consistency is to thick for a spray. The product is thick and sprays in one spot, not a mist, and even after I try to brush it through my hair it stays concentrated in one spot. Impossible to cover entire area for protection without getting hair all greasy. I’ve tried to use it over a 3 month period , trying different ways of application but it just isn’t doing what a protectant spray should do. Will not buy this again. I had been hunting for a product for my 1 year old daughter's type 3 curly hair. I had been using a normal baby shampoo but found her hair was dry and was frizzy. Since using this with the leave in conditioner her hair is soft and her curls defined without making her hair greasy. I also use the defining jelly when needed. Since it is made for children I figured it would be gentle on my "old color treated hair" and it is!! My hair was clean , soft and my slight waves were brought to life! I received this product for free from Curlsmith in exchange for my honest review. The Curl Defining Souffle from Curlsmith is a game changer. This product smells amazing and has an almost tropical scent to it. The texture is, indeed, like a souffle. At first I thought it was too liquid-y to have that soft souffle texture, but as soon as I touched the product for the first time I realized that it did have some solidity to it. I used this on damp hair. This product is a bit heavy, but it held my curls beautifully. The one downside to this product is that it does leave a bit of a white residue in my hair. I have wavy, curly, semi-frizzy, natural white girl hair that I have been trying to get tamed and defined for years. This is now the only product I need along with the co-wash for first day styling. I am good to go. I never thought I would have such a simple, effective hair routine after years of complicated rituals. I'm not sure about reviews that mention bad smell. It smells just fine to me. Not overpowering, or any smell in particular really. Does it air dry with a serious cast? Yes. Can this cast be broken? Yes. It is a level 5 hold product, mind you. Scrunch your hair good after it dries. I just deal with it first day. Second day I use the moisture memory reactivator and Viola. Days 2-5 same and 6th day wash but that's just me. Reviews that shade this product are most likely from people who should be using different product due to level of porosity. If you want to try this, get the trial size, keep your receipt, and return it if you don't like it! Curlsmith is my holy grail hair product line. I will recommend this to anyone. During the BOGO 50% sale, I snagged a few Curlsmith products in trial sizes. This one blew away my expectations so I just ordered the full size! I applied a quarter-sized amount of this product to my soaking wet hair (upside-down and detangled, raked product through with both hands and scrunched upward). I air-dried my hair probably 80% of the way, then hit the roots with my diffuser to speed up the drying time. The photo I included is actually my Day 2 hair! These curls were slept on and not in any way refreshed with water/product, and look how they still held their shape. My curls are bouncy, shiny, and soft. Believe the hype! This is the one and only gel that works for my hair!!!! What happened to it!?!?! I love layering this Gel after using Shea Moisture's 100% coconut oil Leave-in Treatment with Shea Moisture's Miracle Styler (different line) after my rinse-out conditioner. I LOVE the Keratin in the Leave-in and tiny bit of protein in this Gel as well! Tbh this line by Shea Moisture is perfection!!! Love the shampoo and conditioner in this line as well…no protein in those but a great moisturizing wash combo. On my "gentle clarify" washes (Soapbox Tea Tree shampoo + conditioner) I follow with Shea Moisture's Raw Shea Butter Deep Moisture Treatment as my deep condition. LOVE these combo of products!!! That's a total of 6 of my hair products from Shea Moisture….and they are my HOLY GRAIL of hair products so PLEASE don't get rid of these products!!!!!! This review will be about the same as far the shampoo. On my very long thin wavy hair, this conditioner is just too heavy. I only apply conditioner from mid length to ends so I can avoid my scalp getting oily too fast. This conditioner does an okay job of taking frizz and it smells great so those are the positives. The negatives are just that, on thin hair, it is too heavy and makes my hair appear dirty the next day. I usually style my hair with mousse or gel before blow drying and I can’t even do that because my hair will look immediately dirty and stringy. I don’t mind using this system if I’m wearing my hair up and taking a break from heat styling. But because I wear my hair down all the time, it’s just not the best system for me personally. I’d recommend this shampoo and conditioner to someone with very dry or frizzy hair; but they would need to have nice dense thick hair to avoid dirty looking hair the next day.erin.g
