I normally use a different hair gel brand for my curls but after trying Dark & Lovely’s Let’s Jam condition & shine hair gel, I do believe I will be using this going forward. The extra hold for certain hair style types is phenomenal, this is great for hair braiding, hair twisting, and keeping any edging slick and in place. Depending on the weather outside most hair gels leave a lot of visible dry flaking or gel clumps that are sticky and hard to wash out, with this hair gel it was minimal if at all. You get a large sized container that is affordable, and you really don’t need a lot of product either. This gel worked better on my curls that any gel thus far, and I have really long, thick curly hair. I would definitely recommend to other with similar hair types.Candy19

So upon opening this gel, inside it looks like a big black gel ball. When you wipe it with your fingers to get some out, you will actually see that it is a clearish color. The problem is that it is very greasy. I put on quite a bit to get it to hold because it says extra hold but it felt more like a hair grease than a gel. The smell is ok, not horrible, it smells partially good, but there is a weird after smell there that lingers that I can't put my finger on. I would not purchase this for a good holding gel because it feels like a hair grease instead of gel. I bought this product in-store about a month ago and have spent the last two weeks recovering from the severe reaction that stemmed from it. After looking up the ingredients on the package, I realized too late that there are a few key irritants in the product that reacted negatively to my skin. My symptoms include scalp irritation and tenderness, face sores, and intense swelling around my right eye. I would highly recommend steering clear from this product and brand. I received this product from Influenster as a sample to try. I gave 3 stars to try and keep it neutral. I’ve never been big when it comes to hair products like mousse, gels, hairspray, etc. I don’t like my hair to be crunchy, stiff or sticky. I also don’t really have curly hair…it’s actually wavy but even more so naturally frizzy and I usually straighten it or braid it. I tried it because I love the first product that I tried by the same company which is the oil mist. But unfortunately I didn’t like the gel for the reasons I stated above. Maybe because my hair isn’t really curly that neither the mousse or gel accentuated the curls. I did like the packaging and the scent was pleasant but not overpowering. Tried this out for my 2-year-old son and I really like it! Has a great list of natural ingredients, many of them organic. Fragrance is very subtle and clean. It leaves a very flexible/touchable hold, not stiff or spikey. A bit pricey compared to other similar products but you are paying for quality ingredients, and I care about the ingredients my kids can be inadvertently ingesting through products like these so it's worth it for me. I enjoy plus I have three little brothers so this product also works great in their hair. using warm water this product comes out well and doesn't take very long to rinse out. from my experience this product lasts long and using comb you can style it any way you desire. but when it dry's it looks like dandruff especially if you have black hair.angel.a

It's SO CHEAP I don't know if you could ever convince me that some expensive bottle of gel is going to do much better than this stuff, so I don't waste my money. Here's my routine. -Wash condition (make sure shampoo is sulfate free!) -Use tshirt to absorb excess water -Apply serum or argan oil to ends -Apply generous amount of gel eeeverywhere -Blow dry with DIFFUSER -Shake out curls to get rid of the "crunchy" feel And you're good to go for a couple days!kate.s

You rub it into your hair after you shampoo while your hair is still wet. When your hair dries, the hair stays where you combed it until you run a comb or brush through it to take the stiffness out. It will last for about 2 days. It is water soluble and non-greasy. And it is also inexpensive. One bottle will last me more than a month. The squeezable bottle allows you to use every bit of it. The biggest appeal for me is the scent, it smells very good when I put this gel on I smell as though I just came out the shower. It's perfect for going out, it has a strong hold, it's consistency is a little bit sticky on the hands but easy to rinse off, it's not too oily on the hair either it's just the right amount of shine and moisture. If you don't mind the 15 dollar price for the 16 oz unit I would highly recommend it, your hair deserves it. I bought this gel almost a year ago. I just started recently using it since I've cut my hair 3 weeks ago. It's in a pixie cut. This gel has helped with the wet and wavy look as my hair is cut low in the back and sides. I am still getting the hang of .3 curling iron. I usually use a combination of Mielle products for my granddaughter but this time I decided on Moisture RX products only due to being the change of seasons and her hair being a little more dry than normal. The Good: I've been using this stuff for a few years now, I really enjoy the way it makes my hair feel after I use it. My hair is naturally very curly, yet it's on the finer side and also become very frizzy especially from the natural elements (rain, humidity, etc). I use this product on days when I don't feel like styling my hair but I still want my natural curls to come out looking like their fresh, nice and tamed. This product is fantastic because it does not dry down crunchy whatsoever and the gel feels very light-weight on the hair, which is great because out mousse/gel products tend to weigh down fine hair and can be easily overdone. I use this both on wet and dry hair depending on what stage of getting ready I am at during that time. I find it has the best effect on damp hair. I do not use this in my roots, I mostly apply it to the bottom 70% of my hair and if applying wet, I will also brush out my hair with it in. When applying dry I simply "scrunch" it and smooth it through my hair and it really helps bring about a lovely ooomph to my natural curls. It also helps with frizziness and instantly smooths out my hair, I've reached for this many times during humid days because it really helps my curls not frizz up in the future. I start smaller and apply more as needed. I found that I don't need a whole bunch of product to make this work well and I'd rather apply more later than apply too much all at once. The Bad: Oh boy is this formula STICKY and SLIMY. Honestly this is a very unique feeling gel during application that I have not experienced in other products and I know that I certainly cannot wait to wash it off of my hands after using it. The packaging could also be better as the formula sticks to the top of the tube and creates a dried "slime" and the cap is easily snappable due to the very thin plastic attaching it to the bottle. Really nice gel, I use it for scrunching and for refreshing my curls. I’d say it’s light hold – it does dry to a light cast but easy to scrunch out and helps with definition. Thin consistency so it’s easy to distribute and it’s great for curl glazing. Works really well with the Amika curl corps defining cream. I have thick 2c low porosity curls for reference.Carrie

Oh how much I love this gel!! It does have a cologne like smell but to me it smells so good. Whenever I want to scrunch my hair I use this gel and the last me the whole day. Just got this delivery about 15 minutes ago. While I love the smell and the light hold of this product I am not too pleased with the minor condition of the jar itself. It came with the top sticker ripped, and the content was half full, although it appears that a good bit of it had transferred into the lid. Tresemmé has changed the formulation. The label info listed by Target, as of today, does not reflect the changes that Tresemmé has made. The old formula worked wonderful for my hair. This new formula with coconut oil causes my hair type to frizz. This new formula didn’t hold its style as a 5 hold either. My hair ended up limp and frizzy. The prior formula held all day and combated humidity. With the old formula I could do a quick refresh without having to rewash my hair for another 2-3 days. I washed the new version out of my hair the next day since it wasn’t the product for me. Some hair types do fine with coconut oil so if that’s you I’m assuming it works quite well.happyapple

Ok IDK about the group Boys2Men use of this product, but all 6 males in my immediate family love this product! It holds but not crazy glue dusty stiff. The scent is what I imagine a young Sean Connery would smell like. Masculine not fruity, clean not overpowering. My sons 17, 14, 10, 8 and 4 get complimented often. My hubby works in food service and isn't supposed to wear strong cologne. This is just enough to keep his hair in place and smelling nicer than food grease.lngcarothers
