Best Hydrating Serums For Dry Skin (2024 Update)

I read reviews before buying this as I wanted a more affordable secondary moisturiser and I have been loving the Cataphil cleanser, so I wanted to give this a try. I would consider this a very basic moisturiser, with a clean finish and no greasiness, which is great, but not one that I would consider terribly effective or hydrating. It sits very lightly on the skin so might be more beneficial in summer when skin is naturally more plump, but in winter when I am writing this review, there is little to celebrate with this purchase. I am using it more as a carrier cream than a cream by itself, as it just doesn't have the carry or punch a moisturiser needs, especially during the cooler drier months. `Charliegirl66

This is a very light weight cream. Feels rather water based which is great for my combination acne prone skin. I also have very sensitive skin with eczema on my nose. It does not irritate me or inflame my eczema at all. It hydrates my skin very well for day time use. I don’t notice any fragrance and nothing burns so that’s a huge plus. Highly recommend for day time use. I wouldn’t recommend this for night time use as I try to go for a heavier cream for night time routine. If you’re like me that needs deep hydration for overnight then this does not do the trick.Daniamaya

I have tried quite a few different drug store facial moisturizers and this is by far the best for me. I have very dry and sensitive skin. It turns pink easy (one light scratch and it stays pink for 15-20 minutes) and it flakes off. When I use this it gives me very minor irritation (a bit tingly) that goes away in a few seconds. It feels very light and absorbs quickly. It leaves the skin glowing. Also something I really love that I have not been fortunate enough to avoid with other moisturizers is it does not clump up if you rub your face. It locks in really well!Maddy

I tested the @lorealparis Revitalift Triple Power LZR Anti Aging 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The applicator was very easy to use and I was able to apply the serum on the face without any issues. The serum itself was smooth on my skin, although I did feel some tackiness while it was still wet. As soon as it dried, the tackiness was gone and my skin felt nice and soft. My skin did feel more plump and moisturized. However, I feel like I would need to use it over a longer period of time to see any anti-aging benefits. In the last two years I have been trying a number of hyaluronic acid serum brands. About a month ago I received a sample of Mineral 89 and I was instantly amazed with the results on my skin. The serum has a much thicker consistency than what I am used to, but this is what makes this product different. It absorbs very quickly into the skin and when absorbed, you can feel how moisturised and hydrated it is, even before applying any other products. I use this serum as a first step in my skin care routine and I layer other active ingredients and SPF on top. Unlike other serums I've tried, results of this one can be felt from the first application. I am really happy with it. I have gifted myself a big bottle of 75ml and it is now a staple in my morning skin care routine. This serum is fantastic! It absorbs quickly and very light. I have used it for nearly two months and my face is hydrated, smooth, and my pores seem smaller. A little goes a long way. I have stopped using expensive youth serums because of this product. I use it morning/night on clean skin. In the morning I use a tinted spf moisturizer over it and my make-up applies smooth. Five out of the six facial products I use are CeraVe. I've been using this product for about a month now. When I was first looking for an Hyaluronic product, I of course looked to CeraVe first. I was disappointed that I couldn't find the percentage of Hyaluronic Acid on the package or anywhere. I looked under the questions section on Amazon and everyone said that CeraVe doesn't give out proprietary ingredient info. I can understand that, however, I don't think the main ingredient, in this case Hyaluronic acid, to be part of a proprietary blend and inhibits consumers from making informed decisions about what products they are buying. Other companies list the amount of it on their labels….this has left a bad taste in my mouth and now I'm questioning my continued use of CeraVe products. L'Oréal Revitalift has no problem stating their percentage..1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid. I will stop using the CeraVe and purchase the Revitalift, since I know what I'm am purchasing. Maybe CeraVe has a higer concentration, but since I don't know, I'll have to go with what I do know. Here's what worked for me. At night, wash face, apply exfoliant/toner. Let that dry down completely. Mist face with water (I use a simple blue glass bottle with a pump spray top–got it off Amazon. Only mist lightly.). Then apply two pumps of the HA serum. Let that dry down thoroughly before adding the night cream. (It seems like using minimal product–just 2 pumps–also helped combat pilling. I like this. It lessened the pilling, and the bottle lasted longer.) YMMV, but letting ALL of the products dry down and settle in, plus lightly misting with water, AND only applying 2 pumps helped me with the pilling. So did using the serum at night vs. daytime. I'm very happy with the results from the serum. 50 y/o, slightly oily complexion, some dry spots, tend to get clogged pores; tried this serum to stop looking like a ghoul during Zoom meetings. I'm very happy with the results, and will continue to use this one. I have normal but sensitive skin. I don’t like heavy products or fragranced skincare on my skin, especially for the fact that I live in a humid climate. I really like this a lot. It feels luxurious the light fragrance is fresh really nice. I’ve been using the Chanel line now for about 6 weeks. My skin at 52 is really looking nice. But I am dedicated to the regimen am AND pm. I think there was only 1 morning in the last 6 weeks that I did not do my regimen. My lines are almost in invisible now. This serum feels absolutely heavenly on your skin. Lightweight yet incredibly hydrating. My skin feels so soft! One of the top ingredients in the product is Butylene Glycol which is a humectant which is great for helping the skin retain moisture, so if you have dry skin you'll love the way your skin feels when you use this product. I received Neostrata Products as a gift from Voxbox Australia and Neostrata. My partner and I have been now testing theses products for 3 weeks. Neostrata Bionic Face Serum we have been using this as step 2 for our skincare routine. Only small amount is needed my skin feels firmer and brighter. My complexion has improved. This is great product I am super impressed. This serum is sticky texture but I don’t mind that as it works for me. This Neostrata Bionic Face Serum is so lovely! The texture is similar to most serums and is a lovely thick oil that feels silky smooth and lightweight once rubbed into the skin. You only need the smallest amount of product for full face coverage, I use two pumps. It absorbs Into the skin super fast so you do need to work quick once applied before it goes tacky but once dried your skin will INSTANTLY feel hydrated and glowy! Out of all the products I was sent in the #MeetNeostrataAU goodie box, this has to be my least favourite unfortunately. As I have been using actives and serums for a while now, I eliminated them for a period of time whilst trying this Bionic Face Serum. To say the tacky texture of this product annoyed me would be an understatement. It did not have a nice feel when applying and it felt like I was lathering my face in glue! I had to wait for a minimum of at least 5 mins before the serum sunk in before I could get on with the rest of my routine, not good when in a rush in the morning so I left it to put on at night. This is formulated to visibly correct signs of aging and dullness. I admittedly do not have any deep wrinkles or fine lines but I was hoping to see some improvements in the texture of my skin and clarity. Given that I do use a serum with a higher percentage of retinol, this product didn't really do much for myself, though it is a good starter for someone wanting to introduce it into their routine, as it does contain Retinyl Palmitate, albeit a low percentage as it is quite low in the ingredients list. If you can withstand the tackiness of this serum and are new to the world of actives and serums, this would be a good product to start with as I did not break out and it did not irritate my rosacea skinolisyah.a

This is the BEST face product I own…at first I thought “oh boy it’s going to be oily”, not at all. It nourishes your skin. Dries up making you so dang soft! Also don’t forget the neck…You only need a small pea size amount..it literally heals your face. I’ll explain…so long story short I have a dog(yes sorry people, my dog) she was diagnosed with diabetes last year. She’s fine now, but the last year she went through many changes. One was hair loss. Fast forward one year later, she’s better, but has this thin hair on her back. Skin there was dry and flaky. I decided hey with what’s left on my hands, so not much I’ll rub it on her back. I swear on all things holy her back is back to normal. I am on my second bottle of this very light serum. When I bought it for the first time I did not like that it seems to be oil serum, as I am not fan of oils, but once you apply it it absorbs quickly and does not leave any oily residue or feeling on the skin. This is a serum but sometimes, when my skin is a bit oilier or during heat waves in Summer I use it as a moisturizer together with another lightweight serum to add that bit of hydration without too much product on my face. It smells lovely (not like fragance) and feels even better. Does not offer miracles, just a soft, light bit of hydration that soothes the skin. I have combination skin that is prone to sensitivity. I have an oily t-zone that is prone to breakouts and feels uneven to touch. My cheeks have a tendency to be dry and dehydrated. I bought this serum as it was oil free And hydrating. Initially, I started placing it all over my face. My cheeks soon became very sensitive and red from using it. I found it was stripping the natural oils from my face causing my cheeks to become very sensitive and dry. I therefore stopped using it on my whole face and now only use it on my oily t-zone. It has worked wonders on my t-Zone. My forehead has never been so clear and smooth and my make up glides on smoothly for the first time ever. I would definitely recommend it if you have oily skin. I have combination skin, which was particularly oily around the t-zone. I would find my make up melting off my shiny nose and I couldn't find anything that helped. When I discovered Aesop I was desperate to try just for the smell alone, but was hesitant because of the price. One day I bit the bullet and treated myself to a bottle of the Lightweight Facial Hydrating Serum and have never looked back. It has changed my skin no end, the oiliness has reduced significantly and I often get comments on how well my skin looks (especially for my age – mid 30's). I got this last year during the Fresh sale, and the bottle lasted about four months! During that time, my skin took on a softer, bouncier texture and feel. I also had some various Fresh samples that I used with this, and I loved them all! Just bought this yesterday from Sephora. Had high hopes due to the great reviews of this product and it lives up the the hype! I used the sugar scrub, rose face mask, rose toner, this serum and the deep hydration sleeping mask and Omg this morning my skin looks so glowy, hydrated and supple!!!As soon as I washed my face after using the sugar scrub and rose face mask, my skin was glowing like never before. As soon as I applied the rose toner and this oil infused serum, my face was glowing and was so supple.I definitely recommend this serum and also other best sellers from the ROSE line in this brand. This is my first time using the Fresh brand as it is quite expensive but well worth the price. Invest in this and you will never regret especially if you have dry, dehydrated skin. I absolutely LIVE for this serum! It’s very liquidy… In fact i didn’t even realize it was a serum, i had thought it was more like an essence. But it is very moisturizing and leaves a soft healthy glow and skin just feeling good! I have combo skin but this winter i’ve been dryyyy and pores went crazy and this always has my skin looking Fresh (pun intended lol). This is one of those products where you might forget that you put it in or you’re not really thinking about your skin until you glance at a mirror and go DANG i’m having a good skin day! & then remember you added this bad boy to your regiment. However, in the several weeks I have been diligently using the hyaluronic acid serum and booster, and the polypeptides serum, and the discolouration serum, I have seen no detectable difference, except my skin being sticky from the products. I hate the say that, but there it is. I even left one area untreated, to have a comparison. No discernable difference. So far. My six weeks grace period is coming up shortly. Just bought it and have only used it a couple times. Absorbs quickly but was thicker consistency than expected, which I like. The bottle was glass so it makes it feel much more high quality. I'm getting crows feet and stress lines on my forehead so I wanted to try something gentle such as pure hyaluronic acid first. I've had other products with hyaluronic acid (I have combo really dry skin that tends to pile oil by the end of the day) and they've responded well so I have high hopes for this in the long run. Will update overtime! Especially in the winter coming up. I use chemical exfoliation often as well so I'm hoping this will become a permanent part of my skincare routine.Amy

I bought the 1 oz over a month ago and added it to my collection of face products. After applying, there is a sticky kind of tacky feeling as I press it in. I wasn't sure if this was making a difference until I ran out and my skin feels dryer without it. This really does help hydrate but not as much as I expected. I think if I give it more time, it will get better. So far I really like it and it absorbs well into my skin. I did notice that my other serums absorb better as well when I put this on beforehand. I just bought my second bottle and got the bigger size. Looking forward to better results. It didn't irritate or break me out at all. I love Good Molecules and how they are vegan and cruelty free! I’m a licensed esthetician, so I’m always on the hunt for the perfect products. I’m in my late 30s, and for sure having signs of fine lines, dryness, and dullness – which I rely heavily on good products to fix haha. I’m never usually affected by smells. Products that other claims have an odor don’t typically phase me. This does have a weird smell to it – you can tell it’s derived from the honey, but it’s just weird. And I can understand why it would be off putting to some customers. I’m a big fan of dermal layering in terms of products. Until a company comes out with a “one size fits all” product, layering my products will still be part of my regimen. Unfortunately…I haven’t been able to figure out which part of my routine this one goes in. I’ve tried as a first product…but once I apply the rest of my serums and creams, by the end, I’m getting “pilling” and the products are clumping and rolling off. I put it on last, and at that point, it’s not being absorbed. So perhaps it’s better suited for someone who’s NOT product junky…because this one “doesn’t play well with others”. So if you’re one of those who likes to use different products targeted for various issues, this wouldn’t be a good one to add. However, if you’re more low maintenance and apply minimal products, this one way work. That being said – I do think there are better hyaluronic acid products out there then this one. Due to the fact that it doesn’t work well with my other products, and the fact that I feel there are other better hyaluronic treatments … wouldn’t reccomend this product unfortunately. Let me start by saying I love this brand so much and I’ve had great success with some of their other products! I was so excited to use this as I have very dry and sensitive skin that has been flaring up with all these cold fronts rolling in! This did make my skin feel so soft, supple, plump, and beautifully dewy. I was loving all of the immediate benefits until around day 2 of using it, I noticed my face breaking out like crazy in little inflamed whiteheads all over my face. Even though I have sensitive skin, this is really unusual for me as I just finished accutane a couple months ago so I haven’t really had any issues with breakouts since then. I kept using the product because I thought maybe it would pass or maybe it wasn’t the product at all. HOWEVER, I decided to stop using it around day 5 and I just used my regular products that day instead. By the next morning my skin was already clearing up so nicely but it was DRY. It felt like my skin was rebounding from how moisturized it had been with this product. I nursed it back with my normal moisturizers and now the breakouts are almost completely cleared up so I have concluded that this serum was 100% the culprit. I am so disappointed because I wanted to love this product so badly. Unfortunately it just did not mesh well with my skin. That being said, the other benefits I saw were so amazing and I know tons of people who never had any breakouts from this product so it really does just vary person to person! If you don’t tend to break out easily or have sensitive skin then try this! It could be the next great addition to your routine, but for my sensitive skin friends I would not recommend.katie.w

I recently purchased this and loved it so much I bought another bottle. The consistency of the serum is medium and bouncy. I’m not sure about people saying it smells bad. I don’t smell anything but a faint scent of honey and it’s faint enough that I can not smell it unless I put a quarter size amount on the back of my hand and hold it up to my nose. I asked my 13 year old daughter to do a smell test for another opinion on the smell. She couldn’t smell anything but a faint smell of honey as well. I suppose if you don’t like the smell of honey it would smell badly to you. This far out performs The Ordinary. I’m not opposed to The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid but this is for us gals who need that extra love in the aging department. I had used a glycolic acid peel mask two days before using this serum for the first time and my skin was thirsty. It was looking rough no matter what I was putting on. Once using this as well as a moisturizer my skin was hydrated and continued to feel hydrated. It was glowing and I saw a noticeable difference in my fine lines and pesky vertical lines on my forehead. They were filled in and not noticeable on the skin.itsmekayyy

There is seriously NO OTHER Hyaloronic acid serum like this…. I switch back and fourth at night with propolis and there’s suck. Big difference in the morning in the moisture level and appearance of my skin… it’s crazy. Some people say this is too scented which is insaine to me because all the fragrances are natural fragrance and this one in particular is extremely light and fresh, I honestly don’t smell anything exept freshness and I love it. I love finding such good products but at the same time I’ll never be able to use a different one because no others come close to the benefits of this serum. It’s perfect if your a minimalist and still want that glow. Plum plump will give you everything you want. Hydration, plumped lines, a smooth glow and firm clear skin. Immediately after using the product, I broke out on my cheeks. It felt like my skin was burning, too. I thought perhaps it was contact dermatitis with a blanket that had softener on it or something since softeners irritate my skin (albeit I never experienced burning sensations with softener), but after trying this product day & night for 2-3 days, I confirmed it was the serum. My skin is still recovering from the marks of using this product around December 16th. Thankfully it’s not too bad now. This product may be for you, but it wasn’t for me; it’s also the first Hyaluronic serum I’ve tried so I think I’m just going to stay away from those. This was the only Glow Recipe product that made me have such a reaction. I give it 2-stars for packaging, smell, & consistency. subtly brightens skin because of the kakudu plum, something that isn't advertised but welcomed. a decent hyaluronic acid serum, can be sticky. best application is to apply it to a damp face, then allow a minute or 2 for the product to mesh with the water on the skin. then massage the product onto the skin until almost dry. and then spray face with a hydrator (water is fine). water another 2 minutes before massaging the product into the skin again and following with a moisturizer. i find that using an occlusive product (like a face oil) helps to reduce the stickyness. once the products have fully absorbed into the skin (which for me is about an hour) – skin looks bright and plump. it is a bit expensive for a brightening hyaluronic acid serum but it does work. it's also safe for fungal acne prone skin!kajalkumar

This is a beautiful and hydrating layer in the routine, but it isn't as moisturizing as I might have expected. I do love it but even though I have combination skin I definitely need to apply a good cream over it, even when I do four or more layers of this. That's to be expected. The consistency is milky and soft, it applies and spreads easily, doesn't pill at all, doesn't irritate, and layers very nicely. The only downside of this is the dropper, the bulb is very small and the tube is large and the product is not very fluid, so you really have to get it out in several goes instead of just one. They could fix this by increasing the size of the bulb. It's not a real problem but something easy to improve.Michael O.

Great bottle size, the dropper is a little tricky to use, but you just got to bring it to the level of the product before you press on it and viola, you’ll get some product. Love the packaging! Have been using this serum for almost a month! Very lightweight, not much scent to it and yet I love that it is moisturising enough for my sensitive skin! No outbreak or anything so far! I've tried a few other PK products and loved all of them, but wasn't sure about this one. I expect serums to be liquid/runny but this one is pretty thick and milky white? The dropper is useless and I'm pretty sure it's too short to even reach the bottom of the tube, and it doesn't pick up or squirt any product. If it does, it shoots it everywhere. I honestly had to just dip it in and use the outside of the dropper to scrape the product off onto my finger and then apply. I'm not sure if it did anything for my skin, but I also didn't use it consistently enough to fairly test it. Like I said, it's more viscous, but it applies more smoothly like a liquid, soI think you could get a lot of coverage with little product.Irene

The formula is gel based that glides smoothly on the skin and sinks in nicely without feeling any stickiness. I have super oily skin on my face, it always bothered me but i never did anything about it, I kept using the same old face cream since high school. I turned 30 recently and the photos of my birthday showed me how oily my skin looked even with make up on, so i decided to look for other options. I read a blog about the best creams for people with oily skin and i wanted to give it a try, i bought this one because it was one of the face creams mentioned in the blog and I love it. I thought it was kinda overpriced because it's only 50g but you need very little to cover your face. It smells very nice, it feels fresh, leaves your skin mate but moisturised. The effect lasts for hours! EDIT: after a month, I started to get a rash around my lips, I thought it was the usual allergies I get due to cold wind but I discovered that this water gel was the cause of it. I'm really enjoying using the . It's a light weight serum that you can use in place of or underneath of your moisturizer ( I use it underneath). It has a really pleasant citrus-y scent that isn't strong or overwhelming, and it has a very nice consistency that isn't thick or tacky. You don't have to use much because a little bit definitely goes a long way, so this bottle has been lasting me a good while. It dries pretty quickly and absorbs well into your skin making it feel ultra soft and hydrated without being oily or greasy. My skin is naturally very oily and this serum hasn't made my skin more greasy or caused me to break out. I've been using it for a number of weeks now and I've slowly started to notice my skin starting to look and feel firmer and I've also noticed a difference in some of the fine lines and wrinkles in my face! For what this product does, the price is not bad at all. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try a great serum to help with firmness and fine lines/wrinkles or anyone who just wants a great serum or moisturizer in general. I cannot understand why so many reviews note that this is sticky. I have used another popular serum from QVC which was a bit sticky but this one does not feel sticky to me at all. If anything, my skin feels softer. I also use it with the IT Cosmetics 'Confidence in a Cream', which for additional note, is a light creamy texture that goes on smoothly and feels good on the skin! I have normal/dry skin for reference. Also, I have used products in the past that have caused minor breakouts and not with this. I've been using this moisturizer for almost 2 years now, and besides the price point, I genuinely love how it leaves a deep dewy glow on my face other moisturizers I've tried just can't quite replicate, unless they're 4-5 times the price, and even then I find myself still reaching for this one. Over time I've seen a real difference in the dryness and lines on my forehead and crows feet around my eyes. This is from the serums I'm using too of course, not just the moisturizer, as I've been working hard at putting together a really effective skincare routine and reading lots of ingredient reviews, but I can tell this moisturizer plays a big part in the overall results I'm seeing. The other great thing here, besides it leaving my skin dewy (without being too shiny), is it seems to penetrate the deeper layers of skin as I've noticed towards the end of the day when I'm on my way home from work, my skin still feels pretty soft. I will say, the one drawback to this moisturizer is it takes about 15-20 seconds to get it to melt and blend into my skin, so you've got to be aware of this, and work it a bit as it's white cast galore at first, even on my fair skin. It doesn't instantly melt like many lotions, it does disappear with no white cast after the 15-20 seconds and getting warmer from the natural warmth of your skin. So don't give up lol – it's worth it! Recently I've discovered a fantastic hack for the longer blending time though! I decided to try out the Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% (by the Ordinary as well) as my last step before applying the moisturizer. It's an antioxidant serum with a bit of an oily finish, but not too oily. And oh wow! It makes the consistency just a tiny bit more slick to where it instantly blends, almost no initial white cast, and the finished results look even more glowy and supple. It's hard to describe other than fantastic! I sometimes find myself touching my face because I can't believe how soft it is. Yes that's mine! Also, a little goes a long way here. My most recent bottle of this stuff, the larger 3.3 oz/100mL size, lasted over a year and a half of use at frequency of ~4 days/week. You really only need just barely a pea-size amount to create ample moisture and to seal everything in my experience. It also doesn't have an unpleasant smell like some "unscented" products, it's a truly neutral scent which I appreciate as it's the last layer, besides sunscreen, and I find myself unable to use products with any strong smell on my face. I bought this product in January and now we're in July and it's still not finished! I use it 2x daily and a little goes a veryyy long way. First, I apply the Ordinary serums (HA 2% + B5, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc, and Caffeine 5%) and then the moisturizer. Together, they've done wonders to my skin. I have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis and it was SO difficult to find a clean, non-toxic and affordable moisturizer. I tried so many different brands and wasted so much money looking for just-the-perfect moisturizer and I can honestly say this is it. Knock on wood, this product works like a charm on my skin. It keeps my skin hydrated and smooth and gives it a healthy glow. It also reduces the redness from the dermatitis so it keeps my skin calm and not irritated at all. I use it on my face, neck and hands. Don't apply too much of it though. I wait a few minutes and then add an SPF cream afterwards. My only wish is that the Ordinary adds SPF to this product because it is the ONLY missing thing – other than that, it really is wonderful. Will buy it again and again and again.srhsrhsrh

I have to say every time I use this my skin is screwed up for a week afterwards. I bought an entire regimen from theordinary and it just doesn't work. I'm not going to leave a review for every piece but none of them work at all. None of them are useful and all of them dry out my skin, give me a horrible texture, oiliness and mad blackheads. Almost all of them irritate my skin in some way, and I do not get that issue with any skin product I've tried in my life, no matter how cheap. I'm only going to bother reviewing this one because it's the worst one, but I honestly would recommend staying far far away from this entire line. I don't really have the same issues that others have, I have no problem warming it up in my hands, it applies evenly and the absorption is fine. I don't find it gives any type of white film. The issue is it just actively makes your skin worse. Face does not feel moisturised after usage, and then in a few hours you have oilier skin than you did as a teen. It does say it's oil free but you would never guess it from the feel of it. It kind of feels like a lube instead of a moisturiser. I'm a guy who just buys whatever is on offer so I've used many and I've never seen anything like this. Maybe I'm ignorant and this is what more expensive moisturisers are like? I genuinely feel like I must be doing something wrong, but frankly I've never needed instructions for a moisturiser and have always had better results, and if it's possible to apply a moisturiser incorrectly that's just another reason to give it 1 star tbqh. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this product! I have combination/oily skin and do suffer from hormonal acne around especially my chin area. I can’t really speak for the one star reviews as this is simply an amazing product for an outstanding price. It could be the way they are applying (or misapplying) the product, could be skin allergies or sensitivities etc. and to that I say it is simply trial-and-error and finding out what works and what doesn’t. For me, when I find something that works well- I stick with it! I would really recommend at least giving this product a try, for this price it is a STEAL, I wouldn’t sleep on it. A few thousand five star reviews can’t all be wrong!

I have some fine lines and wrinkles, and after using this- it plumps those areas right up! No lie. My forehead wrinkles and fine lines practically vanish, and even deeper, more stubborn ones between my eyebrows fill out some! My skin just drinks this up. It is extremely thick and concentrated- a little bit of this goes a longggg way. I wouldn’t suggest just globbing or slathering this particular serum on.

It is very hydrating/plumping and the B5 helps immensely with irritation, so it is VERY nice to use on the same evenings that I have used products containing chemical exfoliants such as glycolic acids, AHA’s or BHA’s in general. It definitely calms my skin, and layering this serum with my AHA/BHA or retinols definitely prevents my skin from drying out or acting up afterwards, as those products can tend to be irritating.

How I use it at night: I first wash, exfoliate, gently pat my skin dry, and then tone my skin. The exfoliation and toning are a crucial step, and help to “prime” my skin to best absorb the serums and moisturizers to follow. I use a glycolic acid serum first, and allow it to dry down and absorb. Then, I apply a couple drops of this serum, again letting it dry down. Next, I apply Sunday Riley’s A+ High dose retinoid serum. Finally, I apply a small amount of a thick emollient cream (Like Farmacy’s Honey Halo). This product blends well with my other serums and creams and using it as a layer between my AHA’s and moisturizer keeps my skin from experiencing any intense side effects from the AHA’s.

During the daytime, under makeup this stuff is an excellent primer and has some grip. It also makes your skin look fabulously dewy and glowing. The key is to wash your face and tone. Then apply this and your moisturizer and let it all soak into your skin for 5-10 minutes before applying makeup.Leah Sell

I have very sensitive skin and have to be careful with the products I use. I get the odd hormonal spot here and there, but the main issue I have is with dull and tired looking skin. Also now I’m in my late 20s, I’ve started seeing lines in my forehead and a change in my skin. I’ve been using this for a week now and can already see a difference. Email the ordinary with a photo of your skin and your problem areas and they send a breakdown of the best skincare routine for you! Every skincare routine should be tailored to your specific skin type, but for someone with combination sensitive skin, this has worked perfectly for me. If you have the same skin type, this may work for you. But would suggest emailing the ordinary as they’re the experts. I’ve been using the ordinary squalane cleanser. If I’m wearing makeup, I always double cleanse. Then I dab my face with a towel a few times, so my face is still damp. Next I use the ordinary Nianamide 10% + zinc. After that, I use the natural moisturising factors + Ha from the ordinary. At night I do the same thing, but put the ordinary retinol 1% in squaline after the niacinamide and before the natural moisturiser factors. I don’t use retinol in the day as it attracts UV rays. I made the mistake of cleansing in the shower then following this routine. My face went really blotchy, so have just been following my routine when I get out the shower and haven’t had any issues. Probably just me though as my skin is really sensitive. I was really nervous using so many products on my face as I’m used to just cleansing and moisturising. But for someone with sensitive skin, I’d highly recommend the ordinary products!Lilly

Ok, maybe it's not something I should'nt Do, but I use it around my eyes and around my mouth. I then use the caffeine one around my eyes and seal everything with a peptides eyes-mouth cream. I was a bit self-conscious about my hollow eyes and I was starting to develop fine lines around my lips (barely noticeable, but boy was I not ready for it at 37) and it really plumped everything up within 2 weeks of use which really surprised me. Also, the first time I used their products I would breakout like crazy even after a 6 Weeks period. Then I decided to vive it a second shot and again started to breakout. But then, stupid me realized I was also scrubbing my face really harshly with a washcloth when washing and that was obviously the cause. I don't breakout anymore and I should mention I have acne prone, very sensitive skin. At first, I also found it made my skin feel very tight and my fine lines worst, but thanks to some review, I now apply it to damp skin which is a game changer. And that less is more. A few drops is enough. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish the company would provide more detailed instructions like the damp skin thing which I learned through review. As I delved into the 'over 40's' category one thing I really noticed was that my skin was becoming much 'duller' and less elastic. It lost it's youthful/dewy, glow and was in desperate need of a 'drink'. I've never been one for make-up nor any sort of skincare routine for that matter but the effect of ageing was undeniable. Let me start by saying that I have very dry and dehydrated skin. I have tried the other highly rated serums such as Glossier super bounce HA, Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Liquid Gel Cloud Serum, Inky List HA serum, Peach & Lilly glass skin serum, Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate, and they didn't begin to touch my degree of dryness. After application and with a moisturizer my skin felt tight again after 5 mins. When I did my skincare routine at night, I would wake up in the morning and my face would be flaky and I exfoliate twice weekly. I'm also getting older and I've incorporated retinol into my routine. God help my skin… My Inky List serum was empty and I found myself in Ulta to find the next HA to try. I look up my options, sample some of the testers on my hands which were promptly absorbed and not noticeable after a few minutes. I saw this but was leery about it due to the reviews, but I went for it anyway since I didn't have much to lose. Wow! This serum isn't watery – she is thiccc with 3 c's. Two drops is almost too much but I like to spread it across my neck and upper chest as well so it works out. I can actually let this sit on my face for a few mins before finishing my routine and my face will not be dry at all! It feels heavy at first but it soaks in very well and I'm left with moisturized, dewy, glowing skin even a full 24 hours after application. This serum is amazing and I haven't tried anything else like it. The cons: -I would definitely say this is meant for parched, driest of the dry skin. I can see why oily or normal-skinned people would hate this. -I don't know how well this will wear under makeup. I haven't worn foundation since I've been using it because I actually like the way my skin looks, finally. -There is a light fragrance. My skin is reactive and will turn slightly red no matter what I put on it and this was no exception. However, it didn't irritate my sensitive skin. Could be something to be mindful about.Sahara Dry

Hyalu B5 Hyaluronic Acid Serum & Toleriane Dermallergo Soothing Cream Tried this when I had a bad area on my face and neck (very dry, red skin). I have very dry skin on my face and neck areas.Almost as soon as I applied the cream my skin felt soothed and much less sore. Within a day it had calmed down and the redness had almost gone. Amazing. I use this at night or when I am feeling like I need added moisture. It is best under a night moisturiser and I find that you wake up with fewer dry spots. I found this to be a light creamy texture that left the skin feeling soft and smooth. Within a few days of using daily I was able to reduce application to every 3rd or 4th day. Really pleased with the results, skin feels hydrated and smooth This will definitely be remaining in my bathroom and i buy again !!damla1232

This serum is fantastic! It absorbs quickly and very light. I have used it for nearly two months and my face is hydrated, smooth, and my pores seem smaller. A little goes a long way. I have stopped using expensive youth serums because of this product. I use it morning/night on clean skin. In the morning I use a tinted spf moisturizer over it and my make-up applies smooth. Five out of the six facial products I use are CeraVe. I've been using this product for about a month now. When I was first looking for an Hyaluronic product, I of course looked to CeraVe first. I was disappointed that I couldn't find the percentage of Hyaluronic Acid on the package or anywhere. I looked under the questions section on Amazon and everyone said that CeraVe doesn't give out proprietary ingredient info. I can understand that, however, I don't think the main ingredient, in this case Hyaluronic acid, to be part of a proprietary blend and inhibits consumers from making informed decisions about what products they are buying. Other companies list the amount of it on their labels….this has left a bad taste in my mouth and now I'm questioning my continued use of CeraVe products. L'Oréal Revitalift has no problem stating their percentage..1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid. I will stop using the CeraVe and purchase the Revitalift, since I know what I'm am purchasing. Maybe CeraVe has a higer concentration, but since I don't know, I'll have to go with what I do know. Here's what worked for me. At night, wash face, apply exfoliant/toner. Let that dry down completely. Mist face with water (I use a simple blue glass bottle with a pump spray top–got it off Amazon. Only mist lightly.). Then apply two pumps of the HA serum. Let that dry down thoroughly before adding the night cream. (It seems like using minimal product–just 2 pumps–also helped combat pilling. I like this. It lessened the pilling, and the bottle lasted longer.) YMMV, but letting ALL of the products dry down and settle in, plus lightly misting with water, AND only applying 2 pumps helped me with the pilling. So did using the serum at night vs. daytime. I'm very happy with the results from the serum. 50 y/o, slightly oily complexion, some dry spots, tend to get clogged pores; tried this serum to stop looking like a ghoul during Zoom meetings. I'm very happy with the results, and will continue to use this one.
