Best Hydrating Shampoo For Bleached Hair (2024 Update)

Wow! Best shampoo I have ever used by far! I have spent years trying to find a shampoo that doesn’t make my hair a tangly matted mess but this cleans my scalp and give my hair slip and hydration at the same time, I have dry curly / wavy hair that gets split ends and breaks easily and I have noticed a significant different in the ends and over all appearance and feel of my hair since using this shampoo and the correlating conditioner. The shampoo has a decent lather and you don’t need much of it as a little goes a long way. The only downside is that for me this product was a lot more than what I’d usually spend on a shampoo/ conditioner but is definitely worth the investment for something that actually works for my hair for once.sophie.b

I really wanted to like this but I just couldn’t so I returned it. The scent was the most part for me… I expected the same scent as the original Moroccanoil Hair oil so maybe my expectation was high? It was almost like those glade spray fresh clean scent to me. Performance wasn’t as good… it did help with the frizz and made my hair fluffy but made my hair feel dry so I didn’t see the point of paying this much for a product like this. I have long hair (almost touches my coxis; half of it is dyed because I’m trying to achieve a melted effect.. from my natural dark brown to grey) So my ends need help to maintain its elasticity, moisture and prevent split ends. I got everything from this brand that I was able to afford to start taking care of it . (Repair, protect and restorative products) It has passed 2 weeks and I’m planning on keep washing my hair every 3-4 days; I have experienced NO frizz as before, no tangle hair, it’s feels soft , smell great, more manageable. I hope as I keep with the routine of using only Moroccanoil , that my hair will get ‘repair’ and be ready for my last color sesión 🤞🏼.. I’m a costumer forever. Ps. To preface. I'm a 25 female. Natural light brown hair, bleached low maintenance blonde. Thick wavy frizzy hair that reaches the lower bottom of my back. Prone to split ends and breakage at the bottom of my hair. No extensions. I wanted to add this so people with similar hair types can relate. So to start, I'm so torn on this shampoo… I tried it for 3 weeks and I do like that this shampoo and conditioner cuts down on my overall frizz and made my hair so much smoother and less likely to tangle which is exactly what I was looking for. BUT there is some things about this shampoo I just can't ignore. First off the smell, I just can't get past it. It reminds me of a menthol cigarette. It just smells sooo minty and lingers after washing. Some people may not mind the smell but if my shampoo is going to linger, I'd prefer it to smell like something other than strong mint and almost a tea tree smell. Second, when the conditioner sets for a couple minutes before rinsing out I've noticed that my back and neck where the product has been laying in my hair will get very cold and tingly. Almost like how when you have a breath mint you get the same effect in your mouth but it's on your body this time. This alone made me decide not to repurchase. I like my shower water very warm and I found myself constantly turning the heat up because while the conditioner set I would get extremely cold from the tingly feeling. It can be overwhelming sometimes and linger even after washing the area thoroughly and drying off. I would assume if this was a shampoo and conditioner without the minty smell that I was having an allergic reaction to it but since it has that smell I just really don't know if the tingle is intended or not. And lastly, I've noticed a lot of small breakage at the top of my hair by my scalp. I'm not prone to breakage that high and only notice it after a fresh bleach every once and a while although it is usually very rare for me. I should note that it has been 3 months since my last bleach since I am a low maintenance blonde and I was not using this product during my last bleach. I also take a lot measures to protect my hair that could be the cause of breakage that high. So at this point only thing I've changed is this shampoo and conditioner. I've decided not to finish the rest of the bottle due to concerns about further breakage. This is just my experience. Some people seem to love it but it's a no from me. I hope this helps some people on the fence after reading conflicting reviews. I've switched to Joyco kpac reconstructing shampoo that has also given me the same desirable results so far with a much better smell, no breakage, and most importantly no tingly feeling on by skin.Lexi

I saw the hair loss reviews but if the hair is coming out at the follicle then that is definitely health related not from a shampoo. Shampoo cannot cause hair loss unless maybe a severe reaction to the scalp and there's swelling and for whatever reason the follicle comes out with it but that is highly unlikely. But anyways back to my review lol this is the most hydrating gentle shampoo I've ever used it's perfect! It cleans my hair and makes my scalp feel so refreshed but my hair is detangled and moisturized! And the conditioner is so creamy and moisturizing! The scents for both are so relaxing to me and my hair and scalp are taken care of with this set of shampoo and conditioner. my hair is so soft, shiny and perfectly moisturized. Definitely for medium to thick hair types unless you have finer very porous hair then I think you'd like it. Definitely one I can rely on and will repurchase but I already got the liters so guess I'll be repurchasing after that lolHairlover

I have an oily scalp with wavy waist length thick hair (many thin/low porosity strands). Color treated blonde. Problems: fluffy/poofy hair, greasy roots, dry ends, seborrheic dermatitis (on back of scalp) 1. Product longevity: I only used the allotted card sample packet of 10 mL shampoo & 10 mL conditioner, which I was prepared to not be enough for my long hair. It was perfect! It went a long way, which was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. 2. Scent: the fragrance is pleasant, light but it hangs in there, even into the next day. The scent is unisex. It just smells very *clean,* like a fresh aquatic citrus. Although it’s subtle, it is noticeable enough to get a “ooh your hair smells good” when someone goes in for the hug. 3. Effectiveness: this cleaned my hair so well, without making it feel overly dried or stripped. I have a hard time getting a good product that works with my dermatitis, and actually calmed the flare up I was having. Day 2 after wash, my head was so much less itchy than it was all week. My hair stayed clean and free of grease throughout all of day 1 and 2. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was smooth, shiny, soft (but not overly fluffy/full of poofy flyaways). It felt hydrated and my ends looked good. I’ve been faithful to olaplex for the past 2 years, but think I may have a new fave. I noticed that with olaplex, my hair began getting greasy SO quickly. I was getting greasy same day as wash. I still love it (that LATHER and scent tho!), but I think it’s too rich and moisture-focused for regular use given my oily scalp. My seborrheic dermatitis was getting worse and having intense flare ups. Anyway, everyone’s hair is different, and can change in different seasons, so I really don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” hair product that will be best for everyone at all times. That being said, transitioning into warmer, humid spring/summer weather, I’m really pleased to have found this product. It’ll be great for clean summer hair.jessicaeve1023

For reference: I have LONG hair with a naturally wavy/curly texture, and with that comes frizz. A lot of it – even though I'm very aware of how to tame it (naturally kept or with a blow-out). My hair behaves weirdly, i'll just put it that way – it's difficult to achieve perfectly smooth styles. HOWEVER… I've been using OUAI products (I started with the THICK SHAMP+THICK COND.) for a little bit over a year now & all I can say is…I will NEVER go back to anything else, ever, unless I find something AS extraordinary as this brand. It's like magic in a bottle, to me at least. I have never experienced better hair (at home, done by me) in my entire life. It's insanely smooth & silky. I have such minimal frizz now. I normally need to blow dry AND straighten my hair, but I am beyond satisfied with just the blow-dried results. The only cons, I would say, is that because there's such rich and moisturizing ingredients (love to see it!) your hair can become a tad oily after the third day, even second sometimes. You just need to figure out what the right amount of product is for you so that you don't over do it. The second con, though it's nothing too crazy, would be that sometimes I end up needing more product in the shower, as it doesn't lather suuuuper well – but again, this depends on hair length and the amount that you know you need. I guess I just wish it foamed a bit more, is all. BUT these are such small things that can be resolved & aren't much of a big deal. For the oily con as mentioned above, this is why I switched to the MEDIUM line & I feel like it has helped. The THICK line may have heavier ingredients. I have tried SO many different shampoos and conditioners. A lot from drugstore and high end. And lately I've noticed I've been shedding more than usual. I have been using pureology a lot. I've used strength cure, hydrate and the nano works good line. But for some reason the pureology strength cure especially really irritated my scalp and makes me lose soooo much hair. So I got the ouai thick hair shampoo and conditioner and the first time I used it my shedding was only like 10 hair strands! I've washed my hair 4 times with it now and my hair scalp feels so clean but the shampoo makes washing my hair so easy and doesn't tangle my hair. And the conditioner is chefs kiss. I barely have to use any and my hair is so conditioned after the shampoo/conditioner. My hair is so soft, shiny, clean and my natural waves/curls look really pronounced since using the set. Also they smell AMAZING I want a perfume in the shampoo scent! I got the leave in, oil, and curl cream and they all work together beautifully and don't make my hair feel producty which I like because pureolgy always leaves my hair feeling kinda gross when I use their leave ins. Anyway I totally recommend this set and if you're getting greasy hair from this set try the medium or fine hair set. This just probably isn't for your hair type. I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. By this time, my hair is usually an oily, flakey mess, but it is not now because of this shampoo! Will definitely splurge for the large bottle!sweetkiwi

Best shampoo out there for oily dandruff ! Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I'm a licensed stylist and always heard and was taught that Tea Tree has healing ingredients that Actually work . Never had the chance to use it. One day I thought, I should go to my supply store and try some myself. It worked after only 1 use ! Paul Mitchell has the Best professional products out there ! I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! For me personally, I think it works great and a lot of the negative comments here are from user error but that's just my opinion.Kelsey

I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I tried some different shampoos and conditioners and none seemed better than the others. I was having a particular problem with tangles when my hair was wet. I have very hard water so that is probably part of the issue. My sister has amazing hair, she grows it down to her waist and donates it to a wigs for kids program. She uses this shampoo and conditioner even though she doesn't color her hair so I tried it and it is working great for me. Detangles, my hair looks healthy, and I see less coming out in the shower and brushes. I use the shampoo and conditioner together every other day. On the in-between day I get it wet and just use a little conditioner from around where a low ponytail would be to the ends for detangling. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. I would still love a fragrance free or more subtle natural fragrance option but it is getting the results I wanted so I plan to keep using it.Lucy

I have tried many shampoos for my bleached blonde hair. This shampoo works amazing on my dry brittle hair. I personally think it works way better than Opalex. This shampoo leaves my hair silky, smooth and doesn't fade my colored hair either. While Opalex made my hair feel like straw hair. I highly recommend this shampoo if you want silky smooth hair. If your a blonde and need a good purple shampoo. I highly recommend Biolage Purple shampoos. It's the best purple shampoo I've ever used and I've used many. You won't be disappointed with any shampoo from Biolage. It's my new favorite brand and I won't be going back to any other brands.Amy

My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! My hair last year was long to my belt loops. We thought was this because of coloring? Stopped coloring it last year, it's been growing out for awhile. Then for my last "trim" it turned into a chop because I've had really long hair over a decade & never has my hair looked or felt like this. Now my hair is right above my shoulders. I was doing my research on products before my haircut knowing after I cut it, I'm never using OGX products again even though I had 2 brand new large bottles. I asked my hairdresser about this brand & this color last (even though I'm growing out my hair I still have my old color treated lighter blonde ends). she said this product/brand is AMAZING & YES for me to try it I told her Ulta had the jumbos on SALE she said I won't regret it. Sorry so long but I have never found such an amazing shampoo & conditioner!! I also got the styling spray to wear my hair naturally Wavy to let it air dry & have less heat on my damaged hair & I'm hooked, 1000% pleased and recommend!! If you are not sure, they have travel size & you can try before you commit. I'm so happy I went with it, went with the jumbos & will continue to buy forever. Incredible experience with this WOW Shampoo Apple Cider Vinegar and Virgin Coconut + Avocado Conditioner. I applied Shampoo an I let it act for 5 minutes, gently massaging the root. I took a chance years ago! My frizz is under control just by shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels LIGHT (not weighed down by other frizz products). My breakage and hair loss is very minimum compared to ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE breakage and hair loss before using WOW! I’ll use this shampoo/conditioner combo forever! It’s def worth the Little extra cost compared to other shampoos that do absolutely nothing but harm to my hair! The smell isn’t overpowering yet still smells clean! This shampoo is a dream for anyone w/ long hair! First, it cleans thoroughly w/out stripping your hair of natural & needed healthy oils. It's gentle while still cleansing. Second, it helps fight all kinds of problems like hair loss, dandruff, dry hair, etc… Third, you do not need to use a conditioner! I have long hair that loves to tangle, especially when wet. Since this shampoo doesn't strip your hair the way others do, I can run my brush thru my wet hair easily, w/ no snarls! It's as if I used a conditioner! my daughter recommended this shampoo along with the conditioner. I was surprisingly disappointed. I of course thought right away that it would be effective based on the cost. Not at all, for starters I felt it made my hair more tangled and hard to manage which concerned me cause I already have course hair and figured how am I going to get out of this tangled mess. The conditioner didn't even help a bit and need I mention that when I tried to style my hair it was never ending. By the time I finished styling and drying my hair, my hair was so dried and brittle and even more course that when I started ugh!!! I learned that cost doesn't mean efficiency at all. Literally the worst expensive shampoo I have ever used. It doesn’t lather that well, and it makes my hair feel tangled, heavy, and sticky after rinsing it out. I was completely surprised that this didn't do for me what all the reviews I read said it would. I understand everyone's hair is different but I read so many reviews raving about this that I had no doubt that this was going to be the best shampoo I'd ever tried. Boy was I wrong… The first issue I had with this was that it didn't latter do a degree that I am used to. I thought I was going to be able to work around this but without the latter I really didn't feel as though it was cleaning my hair. I started with one pump but that really only washed the top of my head- barely. Another pump for my hair (mid back length, curly) which lathered even less on the strands then my scalp. Using two pumps – sometimes three- really doesn't bode well for the life of the product. With that said problem two arose; this barely lasted a month and a half using it every other day. At 24$ a bottle it really isn't realistic for me to keep purchasing when I was having no results and basically dumping it down the drain. Results were really nonexistent, my hair was still frizzy and ultimately more dry than before I started using it. There was no real change in texture in the month I used it. There was no problem for me with the smell like some people had, it just smelled like salon shampoo. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing this again, however I wouldn't tell people to stay away as so many reviewers said that it did wonders for them so I imagine I'm just an off case. Well, super bummed. I liked the light scent. It doesn't smell "good" but not bad either and it doesn't linger so I don't care about that. First time I used, literally thought I forgot to rinse conditioner out. So I washed next day (usually only wash twice a week). My hair was fine, but seemed a bit heavy. Used it yesterday without the conditioner this time because I used a hair mask (which I've been using for years). Could tell immediately when rinsing the mask my hair felt really weird. Then again today everything but the top most layer is a weird filmy greasy mess! So it's not just the conditioner, but the shampoo. It leaves a gross film on my hair making it super greasy. I have an oilier scalp but I can still go days between washes. This stuff somehow has the strands extremely oily! Will definitely return this one. DO NOT BUY THIS product, IT WILL DRY OUT YOUR HAIR. – I'm not too sure why this was given the name "hydrating shampoo". I have curly hair and live in the Southwest region of the USA. Hot, dry climate + curls = extra dry hair. I purchased this along with the condition with the hopes of going for a cruelty free, vegan brand that could nourish my locks in time for summer – I was let down and then some. DO NOT buy this product. After one wash, my hair was left brittle with zero definition, and that's with applying my usual styling oil and VERB curl creme. I'm an Ulta employee and I decided to try this when we first got it in our location. I tried the Ghost line's kit and it just wasn't for me (I feel that it weighed my hair down a bit but my hair is really finicky) so I was afraid to try the hydration line. My hair isn't super fine but it's also not really thick, just kinda in the middle, but I have A LOT of hair. I used to get a full highlight every three months for 8 years before deciding to dye it darker. My hair is a little damaged to say the least and it's pretty dry. I tried the shampoo and conditioner, and was surprised at how nice the shampoo lathered despite being sulfate free. Over time I noticed that my hair didn't fade as quickly as when I used my bumble and bumble line. My hair felt healthier and hydrated, but without any weird residue, texture, or weigh down. This is my first time using a Pacifica hair care product. I have used a sunscreen of theirs in the past and I liked it so I thought I'd give this a shot.Pros:Smell is nice. Not a strong or overwhelming coconut scent but still noticeable.Hair looks clean. There's not a lot of sudsing with this shampoo because its more of a cleansing shampoo.My hair does not feel dry. My favorite scent in my favorite shampoo. The scent is not overwhelming (I am scent sensitive) so it goes along way to be able to enjoy the wonderful tropical scent. The Coconut Power shampoo works great without leaving your locks stripped but leaves them clean & healthy. Please do not ever stop making Coconut Power hair care. I absolutely ❤️ it all.AlohaMama

I think this is the combo for me! Today is my first day using the Moroccanoil Purple Shampoo and the Moroccanoil Purple Conditioner, and here's my thoughts: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a rich purple color, which is nice since most conditioners I've tried in the past are much lighter in color compared to their shampoo counterpart. Both smell really nice, too. I left the shampoo in for about 5 minutes, rinsed, and then I left the conditioner in for probably 5+ minutes before I rinsed with cold water. This is the best toning combination I've ever tried. After one use, I can definitely tell the difference in less brassiness. I wouldn't recommend leaving both products in as long as I did, however – I purposely did so to see if I could get a dramatic result, and a few strands have a very light violet/gray tone to them, which I love! I will definitely be buying both the shampoo and conditioner soon since I think both will help keep my hair healthy and a nice shade of blondechopper923

It has got rich, creamy and lathering texture, don’t need to use a lot of product and it lathers through the hair well. The colour is brightly deep purple and pigmented. The scent feels a bit strong during washing but after washing and through the day hair smell nice, refreshed and fragrance is mild. After washing hair is easy to brush but once hair is dry combing is a bit harder, hair feels dry and like straws therefore it causes some hair breakage. There is much difference in hair tone, hair looks much brighter, shiner, radiant, lighter and improved in colour. On the second day hair still feels clean and fresh in scent, however I have noticed that this shampoo dries out hair and strips off it’s natural moisture. Another minus for this product that it stains under nails and some dry skin areas which takes time to wash off. I would not use this product frequently but occasionally (once a week or once in two weeks). But I would definitely recommend for colour improvement, brightening and lightening dullness in colour.irina.g

There is quite literally NOTHING hydrating about this shampoo. It's quite stripping, to the point where it feels like a clarifying shampoo. That said, it cleans my hair very nicely, giving me a squeaky clean feeling that I do actually like, especially since I only wash my hair about 2x a week and get a lot of build-up. Gives me nice volume, and my hair feels good when I follow up with the curly hair conditioner. For me, it works because I like a stronger shampoo, but if you're looking for something gentle and hydrating, this is NOT it. I would give this 5 stars if it was described as a clarifying or volumizing shampoo, but calling it hydrating??? They must be joking, especially at this price point.julia

I’m not sure why this shampoo isn’t talked about because it’s truly fantastic. I have naturally curly hair that I blow out every week. My hair is also currently damaged from coloring and all the blow outs so I’m taking a break from both. I’ve tried many others shampoos yet this is the only one that makes a visible difference, my hair is smoother and less frizzy when blown out or air dried, I also swear it extends my color. I’m so impressed with this shampoo that I got their intense hydrating mask, leave in conditioner and oil, I use it all together with a palm full of tigi curls rock amplifier and this combo gives healthy, voluminous curls. I grew up with their hair oil and it’s crazy that after all these years they still have some of the best hair products. I also included Ouai leave in conditioner in my pic, another amazing hydrating product, I alternate this with Moroccanoil’s leave in on wash days. Unfortunately the shampoo didn’t work for me. It has a very strong scent and it matted my hair while washing. I typically don’t write negative reviews because everyone has their own preferences, but I felt I should comment on the customer service in hopes someone from the company would read this and respond. I purchased about $100 worth of product that didn’t work for me. When I tried calling to see what my options were I got a message they were upgrading their phone system so they couldn’t take calls and to please email them. I kindly emailed them with no response. After 10 days I send them a second email… no response. Truthfully, I'm generally not into any sort of hair oil due to texture aversion–that goes for all brands. But I liked this! I do like how OGX made this oil as a mist instead of the other oil with the pump lid. In the past, the pump lid oil that is much thicker would stick everywhere else but where I wanted it on my hair! I really appreciate the innovation of an oil mist. Applying to the ends of my hair, the lighter mist oil adds some shine and softness to the touch. It smells faintly like coconuts with the floral perfumed scent that are found in hairspray—smells good though! It also might've pushed me to consider hair oils more often. I'm 51, and my once beautiful curly brown hair is just dull and lifeless. Been trying several shampoo brands for moisture and curls, from super cheap Suave to expensive Kendra, and everything in between. This exact product included. I haven't noticed hair loss like some say, but I have noticed since using this OGX bottle, my scalp is super itchy. Haven't experienced this with any other shampoos. It hasn't been a terrible brand to use, my curls are looking better again, but the itchiness is driving me crazy. Yet I have a friend that swears by it. This product has been changed and not for the better. I used to LOVE this product! Now there are some excellent one-star reviews on Amazon that really nail down the problem. Here it is very simply: this product used to have Cyclotetrasiloxane as its number one ingredient. Now its number one ingredient is Dimethicone. Look them up on the web. Whereas you used to have a luscious dry shine to your hair you now have a greasy fly away style. The oil will actually come off on your hand it is NOT a DRY shine. They even took the word shine out of their description and now they call it hydration. The molecular structure of the Dimethicone will not allow you to put another product on top of it to round out your hair care routine. ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK!!MIKEY77

I have been using the Shea Moisture conditioner for approximately two weeks and was provided them by #trywithtopbox as a #freeproduct for my honest review. I have fine, thin, waist length hair that is naturally blonde starting to go grey, that is prone to split ends and I would describe as normal to oily. I don't wash it daily but every 2 to 3 days it's just too much work to do daily. I used the conditioner as directed and found that my hair combed out fairly easily even while still wet which was great as it tends to tangle quite badly when I don't use a good conditioner on it. My hair was soft and shiny and manageable. The container for this feels slightly greasy when I handle it during use even after rinsing them off. The conditioner bottle uses a pump as a dispenser which is great but I couldn't get the original one that came with the bottle to function. I replaced it with one I had but I noticed that the thick conditioner dries and forms a plug that takes several pumps to force out. Overall I would say this was a good product that worked as advertised and if someone was looking to try this I would recommend it, I'm not sure if it is the best choice for me given the frequency with which I wash my hair.MargarethaM

I received this as a #freeproduct through #trywithtopbox, but this review is 100% my honest opinion. I have fine 2A/2B hair that is coloured/bleached. I really struggle to find conditioning products that are repairing and hydrating for the colour, but not too heavy for my fine hair. Most conditioners really weigh my hair down and make it oily. I didn’t have that experience with the SM manuka honey and yogurt conditioner! First off – the scent is lightweight and really nice. It smells exactly like honey, but isn’t too sweet. The formula is hydrating but not heavy. It’s a thinner consistency than a lot of other repairing conditioners, which worked really well for me. I use one pump from the nape of my neck to my ends and let it sit for a few mins before washing out with cold(ish) water. I don’t believe that long term results can be identified without using the entire bottle, but I will say that my hair has been shinier, easier to detangle after washing, and less frizz since starting to use this product. The ends of my hair are usually the driest, and they seem to be less damaged and have less obvious split ends. I would absolutely continue to use this product, and will rebuy! The only thing I didn’t love is the packaging – the pump on my bottle didn’t really work, and had a hard time getting any amount of product out. I don’t know if it was just mt bottle or a design flaw, but I ended up switching the pump with another bottles I have with a thicker tube, and have not had any problems since.RoseyB37

I purchased both shampoo & conditioner. Before I bought Living Proof 3 purchases ago. I have been on a hunt for a shampoo that would go great with my hair. I wanted to switch off from the drug store products like dove because it was breaking my hair so much & my hair just ultimately got thin wether from bleaching my hair or genetics. Either way we all know that the drug store products can strip your hair. On Living proofs website they have this hair test where it can help you figure out what hair products they have will be good for your hair type. My hair is fine, thin, brittle and super straight. I wanted more fullness in my hair & so far my hair does not have a lot of breakage anymore, I have more hair growth. I wash my hair every 2-3 days (yes, that's still a lot to some of you hahaha) but my hair used to get super oily the 1st day before using Living Proof. Now, I can maintain it within those days & within those days although my hair gets slightly oily it still feels/smells clean. I fell in love with their scent by the way. 8/10 recommend because it is pricey but I think it is very much worth.vb1112

I have thinning hair in some major need of a volume boost. This has definitely helped! The whole experience is such a pleasure. Smells incredible! If you’ve tried any other LP products before, you’ll know what I mean. The shampoo had a nice lather without being too weighty. My hair looked more voluminous and fluffy after use, but not in a major way (see pics). However, it pairs so great with their other volumizing styling products! This is the first time I try a shampoo and conditioner duo from living proof. I have very fine, thin hair that tangles easily and usually volumizing products or thickening products make it more tangled instead of just giving me soft, maneageable volumized hair, but this duo actually worked on my hair. It didn't make it look dull and gave a slight lift that wasn't exaggerated. This shampoo lathered really nicely and made my hair feel clean. I can't use shampoo that doesn't lather so I was satisfied with this one, it wasn't too much or too little. The formula is clear and has a soft fruity scent in my opinion.Sarahg2mua

I received the Pureology Hydrate Sheer products from Influenster for review purposes and have been using the shampoo & conditioner combo for the past 2.5-3 weeks to give it a fair chance prior to reviewing. For reference I have fine, wavy hair that has considerable damage and split-ends from bleaching my hair every 3 months as well as pretty regular use of hot tools/blowdryer. Therefore, I'm in desperate need of hydrating/repairing products that also don't weigh down my fine hair. As for the Hydrate Sheer Shampoo, it's a decent shampoo and gets the job done. A little bit goes a long way, it lathers very nicely and it rinses out easily. My hair is admittedly softer and hydrated after using the shampoo/conditioner pair together – however, I do NOT think this shampoo outperforms my regular favorite shampoos/conditioners from other high end brands – and at this price point I really do expect a higher quality product or at least a more noticable change after nearly 3 weeks of continued use. I wasn't a huge fan of the scent at first, but it did grow on me over time and now I quite enjoy the fragrance. Overall, it's a nice shampoo and I will continue to use the rest of the bottle, but I would not repurchase products from this line as I feel there are better performing shampoos out there for damaged hair at a more affordable price point.JillLo

I have been on a hair journey these past couple of years, including currently growing out my silvers. With this in mind, I expect my non-dyed hair to react differently to shampoos as it grows out more and more, but I have a ways to go still so this review is largely focusing on colored hair. I’ve tried different shampoos in the Pureology line before, and this one feels fairly par for the course. It does not have that endothermic minty coolness of other Pureology products, but it does leave my hair feeling clean. Some people have mentioned it made their hair feel immediately more brittle, but I didn’t notice that. Please note: This is a clarifying shampoo, so perhaps people mistook the removal of product build-up (and the damage that build-up causes) as the shampoo ‘causing brittleness.’ I did immediately follow with conditioner, and then utilized my typical post-wash oils/thermal protection products. My hair feels nice and I do notice nice volume for a couple of days. It’s not a miracle worker, obviously, it’s just a shampoo. You’re not going to get 80s hair from just a shampoo. I only wash my hair every two weeks, and this shampoo/conditioner line didn’t cause excess oil production that would make me need to wash more often, so that is a plus in my book. All this being said, I will likely keep this in rotation with my Olaplex, Oribe, Ouai, and Briogeo products.debra.r

I love the fact that this product is vegan and cruelty free, although it is owned by parent company L'Oreal that does test on animals. The packaging is supposedly made of 95% recycled plastic. Because I was aware of the claims that it contains menthol and burns some people's scalp, I tried my best to follow others' advice and put it mostly on the ends of my hair rather than rubbing it into the scalp. It definitely has a strong mint smell and I still felt a prominent cooling sensation after a few moments even though I avoided putting it on my scalp. The strong menthol combined with hot shower steam stung my eyes a bit so I can't even imagine what it would be like accidentally getting this in your eyes. I wasn't a huge fan of my hair smelling like mint while wet after the shower but the smell faded when my hair dried. After using both the shampoo and conditioner, my hair felt softer and shiny but not dramatically different than when I use drugstore products. I noticed some improvement in my hair's frizziness. Just like with the shampoo, I find this bottle difficult to open. I don't think I would personally purchase this product. But if you're a fan of mint-scented hair products, don't mind spending more money and would prefer a refreshing/revitalizing conditioner, then it might be for you.karolina .k

I didn’t know my hair needed mizani until I discovered it. I’m so happy I was chosen to try this clarifying shampoo. I’m one of those types of people who only washes her hair once or twice a week. I would find it difficult to figure what my wavy hair needed and why sometimes it was oily and weight down or dry and frizzy. From the fist time I tried the shampoo, I realized what my hair needed. I needed Mizani gentle clarifying shampoo to remove all the build up, oils and impurities that would collect during the week from not washing my hair. This product gave my hair volume and shape to my wavy hair. Also my hair looks more healthy and shiny. And most importantly I don’t experience oily or frizzy hair. I am in love with Mizani’s gentle clarifying shampoo! I was surprised when I used it in the shower and saw it was grey in color. I then read it has charcoal, an ingredient that really pulls impurities out to get a deep clean. That was for sure the case here. I felt like my scalp was left so squeaky clean without feeling dry, as other shampoos tend to do when they strip moisture in the process of trying to clean your hair. However, this was so nourishing and my hair didn’t feel dried out, but still felt super light in texture and super clean. I was so thrilled with the results. In addition, it has coconut oil which leaves your hair baby soft and shiny. I am for sure a new loyal customer after this pleasant experience. I received this item for free from Influenster and Mizani in exchange for my honest review. I’ve only been able to test it out once so my review will have to be based off my first impression. For starters the amount of product you receive is very generous compared to other midrange price shampoo products. The moisture fusion moisture shampoo was a creamy, white texture and color and gave me a really nice lather. It’s scent was really one of my favorite parts, it had a faint clean scent that I’m still able to smell even after an hour after washing my hair (which my hair doesn’t hold on to scents as long). As for performance it definitely left my hair soft and smooth after application. After air drying my hair it is still very silky and soft. I deal with dandruff and this shampoo did a great job at leaving it clean while keeping my scalp moisturized. I would have to try this for a little more before being able to fully recommend this product, but so far so good.xoisabel

I have naturally wavy, dry, and fine hair. Because life has been so busy the past year (earlier this year I had my 4th child), I have been neglecting my hair. I have been using inexpensive drugstore shampoo and it has unfortunately left my hair very dry and lackluster. I've noticed my hair has become "crispy" and almosty feels like rope. I was wondering if I needed to get a clarifying shampoo or professional moisturizing treatment. After just a few weeks of using Nexxus Hydra-Light shampoo, my hair has significantly improved. It is much softer, bouncier, and looks healthy. I no longer feel there is a waxy film on my hair from the cheap stuff. I've also noticed I have more volume, probably because my hair is more clean. I tried this shampoo looking for product that would add volume to my fine/medium density hair and because I heard great things. This shampoo made my hair feel like straw after; it was incredibly staticky, dull, and had absolutely no volume. I followed up with the conditioner, and it felt like I hadn't put conditioner in my hair at all. After doing some research, I found out why: This shampoo contains sodium laureth sulfate or sulfate. It is extremely drying and strips your hair of natural oils; however, the effects of sulfate can be negated with a conditioner that uses silicone (a synthetic oil that is bad for the environment as it does not break down). The matching conditioner does not have silicone to recoat your hair, leaving it dry and brittle from the damaging effects of the shampoo. Ideally, you don't want sulfate or silicone in your hair. I don't know why this line would tote not having silicone but then still use sulfate. It's just setting your hair up for damage. I thought I would add what I found for anyone considering using this line, especially if you have sensitive scalp/hair. I believe nexxus does have some sulfate free shampoos.MichelleK103

Please do not buy this if you have curly hair. I recently got a balayage and i wanted to make it a bit healthier so i got this because of the great reviews. I saw one bad review saying it burned their hair and they lost their curls. I chose to ignore that bc most reviews were really good. I used this as instructed on the bottle and i only used 10mL (up to the first line) so not too much product. It felt really hot as soon as i applied it which I thought was odd. I proceeded to washing it off and in the shower while wet it felt soft and hydrated so i was happy. After i got out of the shower and began brushing it, tons of hair started to fall out and my hair normally doesnt shed. Then i started to notice how stringy it got, it was so fragile it kept breaking. It then started to get really frizzy and my curls were gone. I applied leave in conditioner from shea moisture to try to help and although it did help a little with moisture, my curls are basically gone it looks like i have huge heat damage and they all look crumply. I have no defined curls anymore. Extremely sad but i will work to get them back just dont make my same mistake.Liz

To be honest I think it left my hair more brassier than it should be. It was a baylage that needed some help because it was getting brassy so I picked this product. I regret it because I think it made the blonde in my hair darker and brassier. When you have product in your hand its like a purple/blue color, once you have it in your hair it’s purple for a couple seconds and once you lather it into your hair the shampoo’s soap bubbles it’s white? It’s official, I have found my new favorite purple shampoo! I love Nexxus so I couldn’t wait to try their purple shampoo on my hair. I have colored hair so it tends to get brassy overtime in the highlights, with just ONE wash it toned the highlights right back to their beautiful tone they should be and left my hair feeling healthy and soft. This shampoo smells fantastic and you don’t have to use much to get the desired effect. I think that for the quality of Nexxus it’s an absolute must have for blondes.
