Best Inground Pool Cleaner Robot (2025 Update)

This cleaner has muscle, I love the 4×4 design and the directional remote control makes this unit the best. No need for the WiFi. I have a 32k gallon pool and this unit walks the wall with no problem. Love how it cleans the waterline and tiles, fantastic cleaner and fun to watch it handle its duties. Surprised at the filter screen design, it picks up a lot of fine particles and debris. Switching from the suction system, I'm happy to be able to free up my pump motor from cleaning the pool as well. This is my first robot cleaner, and so fare its working above my expectation. Looking forward to getting many years of good cleaning experience from this 9550 sport.Greg

Firstly I would say buying a pool cleaning robot is a nightmare – seems like no matter what model you get, no matter how cheap or expensive someone will say it sucks (no pun intended). However after hearing my wife's input from a Facebook swimming pool owners group she was a member of about the Polaris I decided to go with the 9550. I did't want or need all the fancy WiFi and phone stuff so was able to pick this up for a good discount from a well known pool supply retailer. A benefit of that is the warranty starts from when they hand it over to you, and they have in house servicing under warranty so no sending it away or anything if it goes wrong. And yeah, their nearest outlet is literally walking distance from me.So, on to my review.Initial impressions after assembling the caddy were1. There's a lot of plastic and the tires didn't seem as grippy as I would have expected.2. It's smaller than I thought and quite heavy for the size – so dense3. Otherwise seems simple and well designed.It took about 10 minutes to assemble the caddy and attach the control unit. After that I was able to get it hooked up and in the pool cleaning in minutes – the basic controls are simple. I'm not interested in programmed cleaning which seems pointless unless you're going to leave it in the pool which they don't recommend. You'll need to clean the filter each time anyway.The lift and retrieval system took a bit of getting used to. Counter intuitively the end of the robot with the cable sticking out of is the front. But once you've figured it out it's easy to guide to the edge where it climbs easily even from 8 feet down. Lifting from the pool and cleaning the filter was easy too. I'm guessing that high pressure jets are probably responsible for a lot of the claims about the filter breaking or separating so I recommend a gentle spray from the outside to wash out dirt and then pick out any big bits that stick.In terms of cleaning thoroughness – I have a 36'x16' double-roman rectangular pool with rounded ends and a couple of steps at one end. In six cleanings it has never cleaned the top step and has not well cleaned the second step. It usually misses a spot of two in the middle of the pool. This robot does not have a compass and AFAIK has no pool mapping algorithm, the algorithm is more like a random walk. Even if it has a map It does not have a compass so after hitting walls and falling off at an angle it is probably lost again. I have tried using a bottom only mode and switching the pool type setting to non-rectangular. I'm unsure if that made a difference as I have little dirt any more to really tell.But the pool cleaning is quick – only 90 minutes so running multiple times isn't the end of the world. Or if you are in the hurry pick up the remote and manually guide it to the spots to clean. I actually only just figured out the remote could do that – I thought it was just for guiding the lift out at the end. Obviously I did not read the manual thoroughly the first time!My pool is suffering from some black algae – it obviously doesn't remove those spots, even a stainless wire brush doesn't do that so no way would the rubber scrubber do anything. But it might be softening it up a bit. I suspect with regular algae it is would be more effective – especially at stopping it building up in the first place.I will say that after initial cleanings with my 9550 I was somewhat disappointed by the amount of dirt still on the bottom of my pool quite apart from the missed spots. The day after cleaning it seemed my pool had silt again so whatever the Polaris had sucked up made it through the system again and settled out. However I already knew about the optional ultra-fine filter (part number R0535800 ) and had ordered it the day I got my robot. On the first clean using that filter it picked up an amazing amount of silt that's so fine it looks like sludge (see photo). Even after two more cleans it was still picking it up. This is probably not surprising since my pool used to have a DE (diatomaceous earth) filter that I ditched when the canister split so there was probably a bunch of that ultra-fine junk in the water.Clearly this junk is still passing through the pool system cartridge filter which probably explains why when I swept all the dirt to the main drain it would come right back the next day. So combined with regular cleanings using the Polaris robot with its ultra-fine filter I think I can a) remove the residual DE entirely, and b) keep the ultra-fine particles from the air out in the future. Since one of the reasons for using DE is to get rid of fine particles I'm confident this is combo of cartridge + robotic ultra-fine filtering is a good way to go. Obviously the robot won't filter 30,000 gallons a day but incrementally I think it will let me easily stay on top of ultra fine particulates that a cartridge misses but with all the convenience and low maintenance of the cartridge system.Incidentally several websites selling it claim the uSimon W.

This review is on 9*** series. The model I was using was the "top of the line" version the P965iQ. The 9**** series share the same platform. Differences are controllers and cable detanglers (doesn't always work, that's why if you look carefully at the manual and box they says assists in detangling not prevents detangling).Had the 9650 for two weeks, in the process my pool was wrecked. IT HAS BEEN RETURNED !!!!!!!I bought the 9650 because it was supposed to be intelligent and "the best at cleaning". 0 iQ intelligent, that's it actual intelligence level. It's purely gimmick advertising. Things dumb as a rock just has some timers in it has absolutely no intelligence to it. The 9650 has to have an app to set timers that can be set, so if for some reason, such as the very poor wifi radio it has on you loose some of the limited functionality it does have.The app and controller on the 9650 has very limited functionality. All that it controls is a daily schedule, with in the daily schedule you can select start time and three run times :55 minutes which does water line, 1:50 and 2:50. Unfortunately the cycle timer can not be changed. This was also acknowledged by Polaris tech support. So consequently the 9650 would rarely climb up all the way to the top of the pool walls especially in the deep end of the pool.It did a horrible job climbing the stairs and when it did did extremely poor job of actually cleaning them. If I would have kept the unit I would have had to be out there every other day to sweep. Had I kept the 9560 my sweeping would increase by 1000X. So why would I need a cleaner.It also didn't do corners either so dirt accumulated in all corners.The perfect pool for these units would be a very small shallow pool with no step or obstructions. Not my pool at all !!!In comparison I have a 12 year old AquaJet robotic cleaner that only has two functions on the controller, I can set the cycle timer so it does get up all the way up all the walls and a run timer that runs the unit for over 2 hours. Also because of the design it actually climbs and cleans the stairs and platform and corners extremely well.It never advertised that it had Vortex 4 cleaning what ever that's suppose to be, but the cleaning it does is better than the Polaris 9*** series.Down side the of the AquaJet is it is no longer manufactured.But the Aquabot APRVJR Pool Rover Junior is almost the exact same unit as the AquaJet. Can't see the controller on the unit so not sure if they have the cycle timer setting on it. Cycle time is critical as that will determine whether the unit will go all the way up walls before it gets reversed. Oh yeah I failed to mention that my AquaJet cost $900 up to >$1500.For what you get with Polaris you can get a much better over all cleaner that actually climbs all way up your walls, cleans stairs and corners and can do all the other things claimed by Polaris that their 9*** will do with a "low end" cleaner and save yourself a good amount of money to enjoy on many other things.Also I am in the process of testing the P825 by Polaris. It doesn't offer anything that my 12 year old AquaJet doesn't already do. It looks more impressive but as far as functionality there is no difference between my 12 year old AquaJet and the P825. Beautiful product and very light weight! As a disabled pool owner, I value the need for ease, this does just that! Having an app integrated with this product makes it well worth the extra money. it’s so simple to use and support to clean out, no matter your strength. Simple flaps make for simple clean up! Note: You must plug this into a GFCI outlet. Not many old homes have these outdoors, but if you do, this is the last pool cleaner you’ll ever need!W

After hurricane Elsa my Florida pool was filled with bugs, debris, and a load of sand. I cleaned it with my manual pool cleaner but it left a bunch of sand remaining. So I decided to get this for the wifi feature and I am really impressed. This is extremely easy to use and I love that I no longer have to deal with hooking a hose up to my filter and then removing it, etc.This is so simple to use because it sucks up all of the dirt into its own reservoir which is rather large. It propels itself and even climbs up the walls. Setting it up to the app is easy to use and work. It has a choice for just ground cleaning that is a 1 hour 30 minute clean, or a ground and climbing which is 2 hours and 30 minutes. I did the ground and clean and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. It climbed up the sides of my pool and scrubbed my tile with the little scrubbers on the front and back.My pool has never looked cleaner since using this. This comes with a 60 foot cord which is way longer than I need but I got this unit over the 50 foot corded unit due to the WiFi options. I did not have any issues with the cord getting tangled while cleaning. This not only works great but also makes my life easier and allows me to have more family time.ShiningHiker

I picked this up to clean my pool on a regular basis, I was tired of doing it manually especially with how my filter works. My pool had a multi-speed pump so in order to vacuum I would have to setup the pool pump on high power and setup the hose to clean the pool. With this vacuum it just works when I press the button. I come back in 2-3 hours and the whole pool is pretty much clean.Now there are a few downsides to such a vacuum; for one the dirt cup is not that large and the "filter" does not filter out tiny debris. What this means is that the pool often gets a bit cloudy while the vacuum is running. My DE filter cleans all the water back to crystal-clear but it does often clog up the filter with the amount of dust it kicks up.However the vacuum itself does a phenomenal job of cleaning the ground of the pool back to white from whatever color it may have been. See the pictures for some examples of it in action. This model is the version that climbs the walls and cleans the edge of the pool outside of the water with brushes. In practice this works much better than I expected as the vacuum does actually come out of the water partially to do this (see pics).All in all I have been using this vacuum for 4 months and I have cleaned the basket twice a month or so (based on how often I run the vacuum) and I have no complaints. This is a product that actually does what it says it does without complications. The only part of this product that feels like an after-thought is the "bluetooth/app control" as the app literally has one button for me to start the vacuum. Not exactly mind blowing remote control capabilities…Outside of that I think this is an outstanding product and I will be using it for the foreseeable future. I will likely let it go with my house when it is sold since I think it will be a selling point for the pool itself.Jimster480

The cleaner is a great vacuum, it has suction and easily picks up all the dirt and leaves in our pool. However, there are several issues that make this $600+ purchase a big regret.If you have a ladder as opposed to stairs, the cleaner will wrap itself around them repeatedly; strangling itself until there is no cord left (see photo). There is no way to untangle it from outside of the pool. I find that I have to get in and push the cord to the bottom of the pool, lift the ladder and free the vacuum. I tried putting gallon jugs filled with sand behind the stairs but the vacuum is so strong that it just pushes them out of the way or climbs right over them. Apparently I will now have to spend another $300 on new stairs that it can’t get behind.Another negative is that it is very heavy to lift out of the pool. When it is filled with water it is easily 25 pounds. It also has a power supply on it with a timer so in theory you could just leave the robot in the pool and have it automatically run every few days. The problem is that the power supply is only water resistant and if left out in the rain, water will destroy it. A replacement power supply is $250. So if you do not have a covered area near your pool you will need to build some type of housing to keep it out of the elements, or you can’t utilize this feature. Since I have nowhere to keep it dry I either lug the beast out of the pool when it is finished and find somewhere to store it or detach the power supply and take it inside, leaving the robot in the pool until I need to empty the basket. I have no idea if that’s bad for it or not but lifting it out is a pain especially for someone with a bad back.I really wish I had done more research before I bought it!UPDATE: The belt on one side also comes off at least once per cleaning cycle. I’ve used it less than a dozen times so it can’t be worn out. This is junk and I honestly hate it. I could have purchased 5 Aquabugs for this price. The last one I had lasted 5 years with no issues. I thought I was upgrading. What a waste of money, this was a huge purchase for me.Jessica M.

Used for one summer. Very easy to setup and use. Takes about 2 hours to clean the 12'x25' pool. Does an 80/20 job. If you want a perfect cleaning, do it yourself.Biggest challenge so far is with the controller. The plastic pieces between the faceplate and the switches on the control board are loose. If the controller is moved too much then they fall out of place and the buttons stop working. I then have to open the controller up and reposition the plastic pieces to re-establish the connection between the faceplate and switches on the board.2nd challenge is with the shape of my pool. It is a fiberglass pool with integrated seating. I have to put buckets into two of the seats to prevent the cleaner from going into them. If I don't it climbs into the seats and can't get back out. It also can't handle the shape of the stairs so avoids them. Oddly shaped pool owners beware.A consideration is that you should not rest the cleaner on the scrubbing brushes. Therefore you'll need to figure a way to store it, supported only in the middle if you are not willing to shell out the cash for the carrying caddy.Summary – It's a pool cleaner. It does the job(ish). I'm sure I could have paid less and gotten the same level of performance and possibly without the challenges with the controller or getting stuck.Kailorbas

After 20+ years of cleaning the pool myself, I decided to spring for a robotic vacuum system. I researched all the different brands, and decided that the Dolphin brand was well respected and consistently got high reviews. I have a couple issues that kept me from giving a five star review. First, it's not great at climbing the walls. Sometimes when it goes up to the waterline, it will just lose its grip (suction?), and fall to the bottom of the pool. Also, it sometimes will lose suction while reversing directions, and will start to float up slightly. This causes it to miss debris at times. If I was going to purchase again, I would have bought the next model up. For that additional $125, I would have had a system that "remembers" the shape of my pool. The CC model has to relearn the shape every time it is used. Also, the debris filter/basket often gets "stuck" in the robot if there is sand in the pool. More than once, I have had to use the hose to spray out the robot before I am able to remove the basket. As the owner of an older Gunite pool, I find that the amount of sand that is in the pool to be higher than could be expected for a newer Gunite pool, or a liner or Fiberglas pool.Peter T.

I've had the cleaner for about a week. So far, it works great – just as advertised. Very well built. It's heavy especially when you pull it out of the water. It is definitely able to climb walls and steps. Strong suction. Even though the cleaner doesn't state that it cleans the water line, I've seen it climb above the waterline at points during the cleaning cycle. It was able to pick up small debri that my old cleaner (using a hose connected to the skimmer suction) could not pick up. I like the fact that I can clean the dual filters inside the cleaner and using a skimmer basket with a sock filter, I'm anticipating that I won't have to clean my pool pump cartridge filters as often. You can purchase ultra-fine filters to pick up sand and fine dust. I would recommend this cleaner.Weymann

Amazing. We have a beach entry and for 15 years every sweeper I tried would get beached and flip water out of the pool. Babysitting a pool sweep us MOT my idea of fun. The Nautilus CC Plus just backs up when the water gets too shallow. It’s awesome. And it cleans the water line tiles too. Highly recommend for anyone, but especially if you have a beach entry.Elizabeth

We built a new pool in 2019 and the pool builder installed the Prowler 920. It worked great when we opened the pool for the first time in April 2020 but quit in September 2020. I contacted Pentair for warranty assistance one year ago today. Several of the service providers I was given didn't know they were Pentair warranty centers. I've shipped the unit to two different service providers (actually had to drive three hours round trip to pick it up this last time because no one would answer the phone). It is sitting in my garage still broken one year later. I bought another pool cleaner to use in the meantime. I do not recommend this unit and definitely do not recommend an extended service policy as there is no infrastructure to support it.Brian

We love this! Our pool place recommended it and also said we could get it for less on DiscoverMyStore than from them. It saves my husband from having to spend 2 hours cleaning the pool. The pool was about 20 years old when we bought the house and had the main drain covered. That can make getting enough suction to clean the pool VERY difficult. We also believe we may have a leak in our line between our skimmer basket and the pump/filter because we get bubbles. This also makes suction to clean difficult! This product has made my husband fall in love with our pool again! We plug it in and let it go, it runs a few hours very similar to a roomba but for your pool! Once done we open the basket that collects the debris and wash it with the garden hose and then thoroughly rinse the unit the same way, allow to dry and then place in our storage shed! We run it 3 times a week as we usually only swim on the weekends, so Friday, Saturday and Sunday!cbadmanp

after my pentair robo vac died (on its 4th year) I did lots of research and bought this Polaris model. the main reasons were 1. 4 wheel drive. 2 . large easy to lift and clean filter 3. easy lift system out of the pool and 4. generally good ratings. I had several weeks of dirt buildup in the line where the walls of the pool meet the floor. it is not a 90 degree angle there as there is a sloped wall in the deep end. I ran the vacuum first for 3 hours. while it cleaned the rest of the floor and broke the waterline cleaning the walls (all good). it did not get the dirt in the line between the floor and the wall. I ran it again for 2 more hours on the floor setting and still it did not clean that dirt . the vacuum went over the dirt but never picked it up. I then tried to use the lift system to pull it out of the pool. the lift system was important to me as I have a bad back and my last vacuum was difficult to pull out of the water. the lift system did not work. the vacuum climbedthe wall half way and stopped. I tried using the lift system in a different area of the pool and the vacuum climbed part of the way and flipped over on its back . I called the company and got a very nice guy who spent 20 mins on the phone with me and tried to figure out why the vacuum did not 1. lift out of the pool since it cleaned the walls just fine and broke the water line, and 2. did not clean the dirt line between the wall and floor. he really had no explanation other then the brush is not long enough compared to the wheels. so when the vacuum starts climbing the wall it pulls the brush away from the surface of the pool right where that angle is. its very disappointing in that I now have to try to return this vacuum which means taking the caddy apart and getting the whole thing back in the box. I dont think the product is defective I just think it doesn't work on pools with an angle between the wall and floor as there is a little crease line where the dirt collects. its important to note that my previous 2 robo vacs. did clean that line.DOG M.

First, this robot does NOT have an "intelligent" means to clean a pool. If you have patience, and watch for an entire 2 and a half hour cycle, you'll see just how many spots, especially walls, that it misses completely. Second, if you plan on leaving this in your pool and "program" in daily cycles, or even two or three days a week cycles, PLAN that it will die a miserable death in a year or so, all while the shell degrades before your eyes. Third, WHEN (not if) this robot "dies", PLAN that you will need to spend AT LEAST the original purchase price to fix it, especially as the fix will likely be the motor block which is the most expensive, most vulnerable and least reliable part of this "toy". Overall, if you buy it, do NOT leave it in the pool, run it at most twice weekly, and store it OUT OF THE POOL and MAYBE you'll get about two years out of it. Then, you will need to buy another one.John

This has changed a little, since I bought my last one three years ago. First thing is that they added an anti-twist swivel to the DC power cord. This does not stop the cord from twisting. but it does help with the un-twisting. It probably make the twists a little less, but we still need to pull the twists out of the cord, but with the swivel, we don't need to detach the cord from the power unit. we simply turn the swivel by hand until the cord is a little less twisted. The second modification is that it ships with a filter that is not as fine as the previous filter. The filter that it ships with is good for leaves and sand, and other not so fine debris. The older filter would catch very fine debris, such as dead algae. I believe that they made this change, because with the really fine filter, the robot would lose power and not climb walls. There were too many reviews complaining about this, so they just made the filter harder to clog up. I like the previous filter, and am using it the newly purchased unit. I will probably never use the new not-so-fine filter.Why did I replace my previous robot after three years? Well the right side of the robot wheels stopped turning. This caused the robot to go in circles and really kink up the DC power cord. I did not know which part to replace – the motors or the control board, so I just bought a new robot. Much of the robot has aged over the three years, especially because i rarely remove it from the pool. Even if I got it to work, some of the other parts were looking a little worn. I am keeping the previous robot for spare parts.By the way, the new robot seems better made. Not sure why, it just seems to be sturdier and better looking. Could be that I am comparing it to my aged robot. This is something men do more often than we want to admit… Right guys?Robert S.

I spent several days troubleshooting with iAqualink techs, The wifi controller on cleaner was defective. Reordered the same cleaner through another company and that one worked. The return process was pretty straight forward and Walmart took it back at a local store. Not Walmarts fault so still giving a positive review since the process was not so bad. I got my refund after a couple days.Del

After trying several robotic pool vacuums I was most pleased with this one. Although not perfect, overall I am pleased with my purchase. Likes – Large debris basket. It holds a lot more than the other models I tried and is very easy to clean. There is also a full basket indicator on the console and app which is very helpful since performance drops significantly when the basket is full. – Automatic lift allows you to determine where to lift the robot out of the water and raises the robot to the surface which is a great feature so you don't have to yank on the power cord. – Wheels. This robot has no problem climbing walls or going over obstacles like floor drains. – Remote Control – I found this feature to be critical to guide the robot to get missed spots vs having to go through another cycle. One of the most important features in my mind. – The app allows you to remote control the robot, has a debris basket full indicator, automatic lift function control, and monitors the cycle status. Another critical feature in my book. – Tangle free cord is good to have doesn't work perfectly but you can tell it would be way worse without it. Dislikes – Heavy. Although it expels water automatically it is still heavier than other models. The automatic lift feature is a great help and minimizes having to pull on the cord to retrieve the robot. – App is spotty. The problem I have been having is with connectivity which I think could be user error as much as an app problem. Polaris has a help line which I have yet to call. I think I just need to understand how the connectivity works better. – Filter Basket – I believe there are three different types of filter baskets available for this robot (maybe more) and they vary on filtration level from very fine to fine to regular. They only provide the regular one which works fine for leaves and larger dirt particles but if you get fine dirt, sand, or DE powder in your pool this will not capture it and you have to purchase one of the others for as much as $80. I bought the very fine and it captures everything but at least two filters should be provided. – Cost – This is a relatively expensive model but I'm glad I spent the extra money over the other models I tried. This model has been around a long time and there is a reason for its longevity.GGSTICK

I have an outdoor gunite pool, 42k gallons, which I have owned for 25 years. We have had 4 different pressure side and 1 suction side, all working at various levels, but none ever reached 100%. Our last presure sweep, the Pentair Racer, worked very well, until we developed a small leak on one the return lines, placing air into the system. The system air caused the presure side sweep to float to the surface. We have always wanted to go the electric robotic cleaner, to not only save on electricty, but to be independant from the pump/filter system. We have many trees surrounding out pool, which leads to a lot of leafs etc. The Warrior, which actually says "powered by dolphin" on the side, has a very large and easy to clean leaf/debris basket. It is a snap to clear and love how quick and easy it is. The cart is a bonus, as it stores the Warrior SE off the tracks, and holds the cords and remote. At the price paid, I couldn't be happier, and have always had my best sucess with Pentair products. The cleaning is very complete, I have three "wedding cake steps" into the pool, and a ladder, with two skimmers. I place the unit in, 2 hours later, my entire surface looks beautiful. We have a rather large domed main drain, and the until has hung up there for about 5 minutes once, but seems to always work its way out of that. The feature of cleaning the tile was a real bonus too, and I've also seen a great reduction of algee on the pool surfaces since owning this for 2 weeks now. The technology on these continue to rise, and the prices are now at a point were they are reasonable. I am very pleased, and love the fact that it is so portable too. Since I have a second home with an indoor pool, which I list on Airbnb, and it is easy to pop this in, while I clean the rest of the house. I haven't tried the second set of filters, provided with the unit, but they seem to be something I'll use in early spring upon opening. I frankly can't believe how well this works, easy to place in the water, let is sit for a couple minutes, and two hours later, it is done. Pull the until gently back to towards the surface, grab the ball beyond the anti-tangle on the cord, and when the unit is towards the surface, grab the blue handle and let it rest on the edge to drain the water. You may see a little stuff sneak back into the pool, if the basket if rather full, but it isn't anything to worry about. Lastly, I spent days researching every option for sweeps, and multiple distributers, and can say I am very satisified with how quick it arrived, the performance, ease of setup (only thing that need assembly was the cart), and how easy it is to use.Jack

A few things to improve on for Hayward.. 1. Despite trying all adjustments unit does tend to dwell in corners for reasonably long periods (eventually moves itself however) 2. Pool coverage is average, appears to track a similar pattern often despite so called programmed ability so this does not happen? 3. I would recommend including a hose/unit weight as an addition. Previous units I have had include a weight fitted to the closest hose to the vac – assists in keeping it grounded. * Be helpful I feel as the unit does do a bit of side tipping in the beveled corners, and not sticking to floor surface here and there (Tried all three flap adjustments – no different) 4. Should include a hose adaptor or two in differing sizes as the supplied hose would not connect directly to my skimmer plate hole, nor does the regulator valve supplied fit it either. (Too small for hole, perhaps as its made for America not Australia?) 5. Finally, I have a fiberglass pool with rounded floor to wall corners as pictured in the manual.. sorry guys it won't climb at all on any setting.. Fortunately I do not require this function. So, if climbing is what you need.. try another unit. All in all seems a good average vac, just hope it lasts now!Reviewed by Pool and Spa Warehou

Perfect cleaner for my Roman shaped, 25K litre, in ground tiled pool. Quiet and efficient cleaner which intelligently gets around tight corners and stairs effortlessly. The cleaner is a great vacuum, it has suction and easily picks up all the dirt and leaves in our pool. However, there are several issues that make this $600+ purchase a big regret.If you have a ladder as opposed to stairs, the cleaner will wrap itself around them repeatedly; strangling itself until there is no cord left (see photo). There is no way to untangle it from outside of the pool. I find that I have to get in and push the cord to the bottom of the pool, lift the ladder and free the vacuum. I tried putting gallon jugs filled with sand behind the stairs but the vacuum is so strong that it just pushes them out of the way or climbs right over them. Apparently I will now have to spend another $300 on new stairs that it can’t get behind.Another negative is that it is very heavy to lift out of the pool. When it is filled with water it is easily 25 pounds. It also has a power supply on it with a timer so in theory you could just leave the robot in the pool and have it automatically run every few days. The problem is that the power supply is only water resistant and if left out in the rain, water will destroy it. A replacement power supply is $250. So if you do not have a covered area near your pool you will need to build some type of housing to keep it out of the elements, or you can’t utilize this feature. Since I have nowhere to keep it dry I either lug the beast out of the pool when it is finished and find somewhere to store it or detach the power supply and take it inside, leaving the robot in the pool until I need to empty the basket. I have no idea if that’s bad for it or not but lifting it out is a pain especially for someone with a bad back.I really wish I had done more research before I bought it!UPDATE: The belt on one side also comes off at least once per cleaning cycle. I’ve used it less than a dozen times so it can’t be worn out. This is junk and I honestly hate it. I could have purchased 5 Aquabugs for this price. The last one I had lasted 5 years with no issues. Used for one summer. Very easy to setup and use. Takes about 2 hours to clean the 12'x25' pool. Does an 80/20 job. If you want a perfect cleaning, do it yourself.Biggest challenge so far is with the controller. The plastic pieces between the faceplate and the switches on the control board are loose. If the controller is moved too much then they fall out of place and the buttons stop working. I then have to open the controller up and reposition the plastic pieces to re-establish the connection between the faceplate and switches on the board.2nd challenge is with the shape of my pool. It is a fiberglass pool with integrated seating. I have to put buckets into two of the seats to prevent the cleaner from going into them. If I don't it climbs into the seats and can't get back out. It also can't handle the shape of the stairs so avoids them. Oddly shaped pool owners beware.A consideration is that you should not rest the cleaner on the scrubbing brushes. Therefore you'll need to figure a way to store it, supported only in the middle if you are not willing to shell out the cash for the carrying caddy.Summary – It's a pool cleaner. It does the job(ish). I'm sure I could have paid less and gotten the same level of performance and possibly without the challenges with the controller or getting stuck.Kailorbas

After 20+ years of cleaning the pool myself, I decided to spring for a robotic vacuum system. I researched all the different brands, and decided that the Dolphin brand was well respected and consistently got high reviews. I have a couple issues that kept me from giving a five star review. First, it's not great at climbing the walls. Sometimes when it goes up to the waterline, it will just lose its grip (suction?), and fall to the bottom of the pool. Also, it sometimes will lose suction while reversing directions, and will start to float up slightly. This causes it to miss debris at times. If I was going to purchase again, I would have bought the next model up. For that additional $125, I would have had a system that "remembers" the shape of my pool. The CC model has to relearn the shape every time it is used. Also, the debris filter/basket often gets "stuck" in the robot if there is sand in the pool. More than once, I have had to use the hose to spray out the robot before I am able to remove the basket. As the owner of an older Gunite pool, I find that the amount of sand that is in the pool to be higher than could be expected for a newer Gunite pool, or a liner or Fiberglas pool.Peter T.

My Polaris 360 pool cleaner started acting up "again". I just got done doing the tune up kit replacing everything at the start of the season but the wheels started not rotating and it would get stuck in the corners. So I decided to purchase a robitic electric cleaner. This was the best deal out there. My opinions after about 3 weeks of using it; It doesnt cover the pool as good as the Polaris. I still have leaves in the bottom and have to run it about 3 times. It however cleans my liner better then the polaris. I gave it a 3 as its not bad but it could be better for the price… There is so much more someone could do to make this pool cleaner great, but that might be in the higher priced ones. I wasnt going to spend over $500 for a high end one. So I guess you get what you pay for.Mike R.

I researched and bought prior to opening my pool this year. Went with the DX4 over the DX3 because of the longer cord, duel brushes and extra filter inserts. Decided against the DX5 because I didnt think I wanted the blue tooth and remote capability. If i was going to stand there and control it why not just vacuum it myself. (I can get my pool spotless in less than 20 minutes start to finish.) Put it in as soon as I opened pool. Pool is clear but a lot of winter sediment and grime. Ran about 2 hours but could see spots that it never touched. Ran it 3 more times (another 6 hours for a total of 8 hours and it finally seemed to hit every part of my 16×32 pool. Was very skeptical and thought about returning it. Next day there was accumulated debris in different parts of pool that had settled from the night before so I put it in and went out. When I got home the pool was clean except for one spot and the stairs. Ive watched it go thru 6 full cycles and it has never gotten past the 1st step. Also tried the pleated filters which are much harder to clean out the debris. I think I will just use the smooth filters because they are super easy to clean. If you want to cut costs I would try the DX3. Im not sure if I really needed the 3 extra cord length or the duel brushes. If you want to make sure you get every little speck of dirt I would upgrade to the DX5 so you can steer it to the spots it might miss.Robert T.

I usually dont write reviews so quickly but this product just blew me away. Arrived with 3-days of ordering in great condition. Opened box and on top were the propaganda including warranty and "Quick Start". I thought after reviewing the Quick Start guide it was terrible because it was so simple. "Plug into power supply, throw in pool, start drinking" (paraphrasing but not much). It was just about that easy. I plugged in the power supply and then screwed in the units long cord into the power supply and threw into pool. It sunk to the bottom and went to work. One set of filters are installed and another finer set comes in a separate bag in the box. Other than that, its just the unit and the power supply.For the next 2-hours I drank some scotch and watched it go through my 15-30" pool (depth to 8' including sloped sides) pick up everything on the bottom (leaves, twigs and even some critters). I saw the video of it climbing the wall to the waterline and really didnt believe it – but it scampered up the walls like no problem. It even kind of pauses at the top of the water and really works the coping until submerging back down.I do find that it helps if you start it in the deep end near the drain to get the big stuff. I initially started in shallow and it was taking to long (my short attention span) so i threw it in the deep end. Worked the whole pool pretty quickly. I called the Wife out several times to impress her with its prowess on wall climbs and picking up big stuff. She didnt act impressed but she was (she hides her emotions well – except for the ones of embarrassment of me).Only had a couple of days so not trying to be to fan boy-ish yet. But having multiple pools that had in-wall water powered units that were up and down – this is really a good product not dependent on your pool filter, suction, etc.Highly recommend.LakeMead J.

Update 07/30/20:Maytronics directed me to a 3rd party for the solution to the unit getting stuck on the drain ***.com). They were great to work with, but in the end the clips didn't fix the problem with this unit and Style E main drain. Then, Maytronics offered to install an active brush, which is basically a 3rd roller in the center of the unit and this fixed the problem. No more does the unit get stuck on the drain!The unit does Fantastic at cleaning the pool now. I do have an issue where the unit tends to stay in the deep end of the pool for longer than it should (no longer getting stuck on drains though). So, I sometimes have to limit the extension of the cord so it stays in the shallow end and thoroughly cleans it.The Bluetooth app is a disaster, as you can read in the Apple store comments. But, they can improve that over time. The base unit rocks!One other thought. I thought the Bluetooth model was the way to go instead of a separate remote. However, as I stand next to the edge of a pool trying to manually control the unit with an $800 smartphone I'm begging to question the logic in that.—————————————–There are many posts here that talk about the unit getting stuck on bottom drain vents. Dolphin says they have a solution. I've emailed them several times on this. Turns out, there is no solution. The unit won't clean the entire pool because of this.Also, this particular unit doesn't come with a cart. Why? We called Dolphin about and an apparently because it's got the built in bluetooth, it doesn't come with a cart. What? Makes no sense.NickelDraft

update 22-June-2019The dolphin was returned and I did buy another TigerShark. It cleans way better for about 1/2 the price and the same 3 year warranty I personally think it is a better buy. It is the same design as the old TS but lighter.Sorry ***.update 29-May-2019Still getting stuck on the main drain, but it does clean well for the spots it 'finds'. As another reviewer put it cleans the same spots over and over. I have had to pick it up and move it hoping it cleans 'that spot'..i think I set a personal best, it got stuck on a main drain about every 10 min.. so 6 – 7 times an hour…Also, it does NOT climb steps unless you put in front of the step 'then turn it on'.This is not a sales pitch for TigerShark…On a side note before I bought the TigerShark in 2012, the local pool store asked me to try a Dolphin. Can't remember the model number. I did and it didn't clean well at all. but it didn't get stuck on the main drain either. I liked the 'no-tangle' cord but the last time I used it came apart and was floating on the surface. When i returned it one of the owners just went ballistic like I had damaged the machine, the younger calm headed owner apologized profusely and I bought the TigerShark. I cam back to the store for something and asked the younger one about the Dolphin. He said there was no damage and that it was working in one of their demo pools. I have only spent 50 dollars in that store the past 7 years.14-May-2019I got this about 2 weeks ago and have been running it about 2 times every day. The unit keeps getting stuck on the main drain. 1500 plus tax… looks like this is going back.Today, in 3 hours I had to pull it off the main drain 5 times, we have a sports pool and the pump was not on.I had a TigerShark that worked quite well but died after 3 years. just quit, replaced the wheels / bearings and it ran a few times more..I don't think this Dolphin will make it much longer..CT

This product will free you up to do other things while it is cleaning your pool. While this robotic cleaner is not able to clean every spot of my pool – steps, seat and sharp curved areas, it does a great job of getting the debris off the floor and walls. Now it will not get all the fine dirt from a wind storm. It seems to vacuum the dirt but since the filter is not coated with DE the fine dirt will pass through the filter and back into the pool to settle back on the floor and steps. So my process is let it run for the 2 1/2 hours – take it out, then clean the inside of the robotic filter. Go back to the pool and sweep the pool. Due to the white plaster I can see where the robotic cleaner misses. A major plus on why I purchased this was that the debris does not go into my pool filter. I don't have to run this when the filter is running and I don't have the vacuum hose always in my pool. My neighbor has a vacuum connected to his filter and every morning I hear when the vacuum comes out of the water and sucks up air. The major disadvantage is the higher price but I believe that the less wear and tear on my filter is worth spending the extra money. Remember all the debris that this robotic cleaner picks up is that much less is going into your filter thus keeping your filter pressure from climbing that much faster – thus allowing your filter to run more efficiently. I've been a pool owner for over 40 years and I should of bought my robotic cleaner a long time ago.RMG

This Aqua Products EVO604 robotic pool cleaner is leagues beyond my previous one! My old one could only clean the bottom and the slanted bottom, but couldn’t go up the walls. This guy can actually climb all the way up past the water line! Not only that, but it cleans very well.It’s definitely a beast of a pool cleaner though and is easily 4x bigger than my previous one. I actually purchased a small deck box just for this because i didn’t have enough room in the bigger deck boxes I already have for it. You also need to put this away when not in use and make sure that it’s not left sitting out in the elements. So keep that in mind because it needs a lot of room to store it.It takes a few minutes to set this up since you need a power source and have to connect everything, but once it’s set up it’s a breeze to operate. There’s no app or anything like that, it’s either just on or off, so basically cleaning or not cleaning. That’s it. No fancy settings or readings. Upkeep is also nice and easy as well and you don’t need to keep buying filters and other things for it.The only thing I really have complaint about is that it doesn’t clean in any sort of systematic way. It’s sort of like the old Roombas when they first came out. It just runs all over the place until it gets 95% of the pool. Unfortunately that means that there’s always going to be a spot or two that it misses and there is no way to get it to clean that specific area. But other than that this is an amazing robotic pool cleaner!Melrel05

This is no different as it is prone to making those same "Oopsie-daisy" mistakes, but honestly not as much as I was expecting. For the price the Zodiac MX6 delivered what i was looking for. I needed affordable pool cleaner that would pickup the find debri and scrub the floor and walls of the pool. I didn't know they sold a elite Zodiac MX6 that come with two rubber scrubbers that i needed on my new mx6. I was able to do a little research and found out i could buy the new elite part and it would fit on mine. $29 and one screw it was on and working. The only problem i have is my pump is getting to much air in the line which i can only see the leak is in the reconnecting hoses on the MX6.i figured that shutting off the bottom drains before hooking up MX6 seem to solve most of the problem. It worth the price and quality and i am very happy with my purchase.dsallas-123

Item was delivered next day! The Zodiac MX6 was easy to assemble and get going (took me and my 7yo grandson about 15 minutes). We have a 14×36 in-ground concrete pool that is about 9.5' deep. The skimmer is located near the deep end, but the MX6 seemed to have plenty of hose to reach all areas in the shallow end. We watched it for a few minutes and kept checking on it every half hour or so. It never got hung up or stuck on anything. It cleaned the pool in superb fashion. I'm extremely happy with this….especially since Walmart was about $60 cheaper than Amazon!Mp3Mike

Overall the Dolphin Explorer E20 Robotic Pool Cleaner is good but have some challenges with an interior ledge in the fiberglass pool, great at cleaning the bottom of the pool, however misses some spots due to the curvature and ledge in the poolRaj L.

Works great! I have an 18 x 34 inground vinyl liner pool, love this robot! I have not had to use my regular vacuum at all! Such a time saver! Picks up anything in my pool so far, leaves, sticks, small gravel, coins, even silt and some of the red mud because I live in North Carolina and our dirt is red clay. Lol. Not knowing anything about pool cleaners I feel I did a good job comparing many models on line. I was very impressed with the features and comments about the Maytronics Dolphin E30. Our pool is 19×38 feet vinyl lined and I have never used a cleaner, so first time using a cleaner. My disappointment is an area of the pool is never cleaned. If the cleaner is placed mid length of the pool an area in the deep end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the deep end an area in the shallow end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the shallow end an area in the deep end is not cleaned. At the end of the 3 hour cycle there are always a few leaves left in the pool. I do not know if another brand is better I am just explaining my experience.Sherri

This is hands down the best thing that I have ever gotten for my pool.We have a 16 ft above ground pool that we love but it was a constant pain trying to vacuum it out all the time. We only had a small vacuum and it just wasn't getting everything. I came across this that was made esp for an above ground pool and I knew that I had to give it a chance. WE LOVE IT. Its so easy to use… just plug it in and go! It gets my pool sparkling clean. What I love most is that the filter basket is very "tight" so it keeps the sand and dirt in it without just shooting it right back out into the water. I live on a dirt road so that is huge for me. I would recommend this to ANYONE who has an above ground pool. It is by far one of our most favorite investments.Sadie P.

I love this little cleaner. So after having my pool closed all winter since I'm in California we don't take it down. Just lower the water levels to just below the inlets and then use winterizing chemicals and cover it. For reference we have a 12'W × 24'L x 52" H Intex pool.So we had a bad storm (wind) and it ripped my cover, so all sorts of debris went into the pool. I was able to get most of it out but there was still that portion I have the intex vaccuum (save your money) it picked up very little. Then I found this little gem. My water was crystal clear. And it has the brushes that clear any slime from your pool so that helps with algae! So you don't need as many chemicals for your pool. It's such a good investment. It will save you on time, your labor of cleaning the pool, and on chemicals.Alliecat1977

Over the last 30+ years of owning and maintaining a in ground pool…… this is indeed the very best pool cleaning device I have ever owned. Certainly cost the most…. but, certainly, thus far, has given me the best results and personal pleasure having. This is a Adult Big-Boy Toy for sure…. costing aprox. $1500!!But, I am worth it…… and so are many of you!Once your sold on the idea of a automatic debris collection device…. working independently of your Main Filtration Filer….. The Dolphin Supreme WiFi Robotic is …… Superbly the best!-Superior Filter Trap and easy clean up. Can do in a 5 gallon Bucket with a hose! Will brush up the finest debris such as sand and algi scum and of course leaves and such.-Cycles are 2.5 hours and their are many to choose from! Works from you phone.-Actually scrubs the water line and walls! I now do very little brushing!So far….. very happy!Rob &. D.

My house backs to the woods before this purchase I would spend hours cleaning the pool each week. This pool cleaner is so effortless…I haven’t gotten the app to download on my phone yet but from what I see I don’t know how anyone could have a pool without one. I do have a kayak above ground pool with a vinyl liner, so far no issues or concerns. I am keeping the pool open a bit longer this year as I’m getting some back yard renovations done, this thing has even picked up a few small stones that found it’s way inside the pool. I can’t wait until we reopen the pool next season. I’ll actually get to spend more time relaxing in it versus the hours I wasted cleaning it!!! If I can get the app to download that will be my bonus. I’ll be able to program it from anywhere. This is the best gift a pool owner can have. I didn’t order the caddy but as soon as I find the one for this I will purchase as it is a bit heavy to carry back and forth. After a lot of research, decided to buy this unit. Received it quickly and unpacked and put it to work. – fairly efficient once you get an internet connection for the APP (the internet connection is required) which is a small challenge as pool is 15 yards away from house and internet modem is on the far side of the house. The 3rd brush does a fairly good job of scrubbing. There is no mapping feature of the pool for the supreme (not very smart) it does sometimes takes 2 cycles (5 hrs)to get the whole pool clean. Watching it, it seems that it at times it appears confused and takes 15-30 seconds to continue on the next leg. Since 2006 have been using a Blue Diamond RC robot for pool cleaning which mapped the pool and only took 1 3 hour cycle to get it all. By the way it still works great but needs new brush's. Bought this as I am afraid to take the BD RC apart being 15 years of pool cleaning and chlorine though I am reconsidering after watching this one work. Did not help with no caddy being included at the price. So this robot is ok but…….Sherry
