Not sure what the bad reviews are all about, but I love this product. I have coarse hair and over the years have over-shaved (shaved past where I needed to) and shaved incorrectly, and in the opposite direction. I thought I was doomed to get waxes forever or save up for laser hair removal, but alas! Anyways, I have tried nair several times and immediately after applying felt tingling and burning. Never left it on long enough to see results. It also did not come with a sponge, so it was messy and the smell made my body wreak of rubber until my next shower. Yuck. Nair burned so much I wouldn't dare put it near my bikini area. Veet on the other hand exceeded my expectations. It comes with a sponge making the experience so much easier and tidy. No product is perfect but I'd say 95% of my unwanted body hair is gone (bikini, under arms, legs, stomach). I left it on for 12-13 minutes, and didn't get any type of chemical burn or irritation. I've always been a shaver but I had gotten tired of the razor bumps, prickly little hairs that hurt when they start to grow back, and the dark spots that are left from the razor bumps. I watched one of Taina's videos on YouTube and she recommended this as an alternative to shaving and that was some of the best advice for hair removal I've had. My verdict is that it is just a nice and affordable moisturizer with a little bit of weird thickness and smell in it. I bought this after seeing the reviews online. I have PCOS and Hypothyroidism, so facial hair has been a 20 year daily battle for me. Anything to help reduce hair growth or cover up the shadow is worth a try to me. I've been using it for almost a week and notice major differences. Actually, I noticed a difference after just one use. It not only reduces the hair growth speed but also has smoothed the bumpy surface where I am constantly shaving and plucking hairs. The hair is still there but I went from have to do upkeep 3-4 times a day to twice a day, when I wake in the morning and at night before bed. Both are when I apply the Gigi Slow Growth. Some complain about the smell but I like the smell. It's Aragon Oil, so if you don't like it, you won't like this but if you want to reduce the hair growth, you'll do anything. I do use it twice a day even though directions say once a day but I have coarse, dark, man hair on my face and very fair skin. I wanted to hit it hard and it worked for me. Also- it takes a very small amount to make a difference. I see reviews about it not running in or taking too long but I think they may be using too much. For my chin, cheeks, neck and sideburns I use a nickel size amount and spend maybe a minute rubbing it in. A small amount goes a long way.

It had been decades since I used hair remover product. I decided to try it again. It is advertised as 27% less chemical ingredients than the previous formula. Wow, this stuff is amazing. MUCH different than what I've tried years ago. This is a nice pump bottle and the cream comes out as cream. Not watery or seperated. Came out as cream. Even has a little cap to prevent an unwanted pump. The spong it came with makes so much sense. I sit over the side of my bath tub when using this. You totally don't have to, but I do. So first I apply cream to the yellow softer side of sponge and rub all over my legs. Then after 6 minutes I use the slightly rougher white side of sponge to wipe away. Leaves my legs hairless, smooth and moisturized. There is no chemical smell, no need to vent the bathroom, no headache. Nothing like I remeber. Has a nice light clean violet scent This stuff rocks! I feel confident enough to let my pre tween daughter to use it too.
Upon first look the description on the bottle is very deceiving. It specifically says “in shower hair removal cream”. Reading that you would think you could use 100% in the shower. Because the product is wrapped in plastic to keep the sponge attached you can’t read the instructions until after purchase and opening. The instruction state that you apply before your shower and wait 3 minutes and than shower without a direct stream on product. I do like that it does actually work and the sponge is nice to get the product off of you good. It really does work well and leaves my legs soft. I get horrible razor burn on the inside of my upper legs and bikini line when shaving, so was excited to try this as a shaving alternative. Upon opening the product, I noticed that the smell was not as terrible as other products I have used. You apply the product with a little sponge the size of your palm. You have to make sure the hair you want to remove is completely covered, so just my entire upper legs seemed to take a lot of product. Once you apply, you have to leave it on for 6 – 10 minutes, so make time for this before your shower. Once you get in the shower, you are able to wipe the hair off with the same sponge. I applied this on leg hair that had been shaved 2 days prior, and it seemed to do a really spotty job. I ended up having to shave to catch the hairs that weren’t removed, so I was not super impressed with the end result. Maybe it is made for longer hair? I cannot believe how great this product is. It is the smoothest shave in the world. No bumps or irritation. Just unbelievably smoooooth.I immediately ordered two more tubes. For those with sensitive skin who still feel the rough effects of shaving long after a shave, I recommend this product. The only other product I would recommend besides this for shaving would be Ritual's "The Whip" shaving cream, but The Whip's cost is highly prohibitive in my opinion. If you are sensitive to menthol I wouldn't use this, but for those with extra-sensitive and/or razor-bump-prone skin pick this one. I have a complicated routine where I use American Crew Pre-shave oil(fairly expensive) on my face before applying a small amount of this gel in my hand, adding a little water, and working into a lather. I use Nivea for Men Extra Soothing Aftershave Lotion for extra moisturizing after the shave and Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Foaming Wash(not available on Amazon! Get on this, Amazon!) after for a little extra acne/bump prevention. I swear I have the most sensitive skin in the world, and I can't recommend this gel enough.Tom S.
I suffer with extreme sensitive skin, and razor burn, which in conjunction created bums all over my face. I love the Braun Silk-epil Beauty Set. It's got just what I need in one convenient package. First the beauty brush. It comes with 4 different heads, one for exfoliating, one to cleanse, one for sensitive skin and one to blend. I've used all 4 heads and they really work. I've used beauty brushes in the past, but this one is much higher quality because the bristles are much softer, don't irritate the skin and are longer lasting. I especially like the 2 modes that can be used, vibrate or rotate to ensure all parts of the face are taken care of. Since it's waterproof I don't have to worry about taking it into the shower. It takes batteries so no forgetting about recharging. The one thing I wish it included is a silicone brush head. I find that they last longer than the normal bristles so it would have been nice to include. I also really like the epilator/shaver. The epilator comes with 2 attachments, one that massages while it epilates and one that is faster, but can hurt the first few times. I've been using the epilator on my legs and after a couple of times, it doesn't hurt as much. I've also noticed less hair growth and longer time intervals between hair removals. As with all epilators, it does hurt a bit while removing hair, but using a lotion right after helps with the sting. The shaver/trimmer is a neat feature in this beauty set. The trimmer is great for areas on the face or bikini line since it's not as abrasive. The shaver also gets a pretty close shave so it's ideal for that bikini line. This is rechargeable so it's convenient and you can use the epilator in the shower. However, the trimmer/shaver cannot be used in the shower, which would have been nice if it was both. That being said, it does not detract from the versatility or convenience of the product. The epilator works ok. Was really annoyed when I wanted to use it, the battery was totally flat. I always recharge after use so it’s ready for next time. Took ages to recharge so I could not use until the next day. The face brush is just average as well. Not much power. Very expensive double product for average performance.
AMAZING! Being on chemotherapy I have to be very careful about the hair removal products I use due to sensitive and dry skin. Waxing and shaving are out of the question which is why I went for the Epilator. My relief when I first used this product was immense! Although I use lots of other after shave balms, i've actually continuously used Mennen Afta for over 40 years. My Dad used it too The fragrance, quality, price and feel on my face are all winners. It has a nice calming effect on my skin which I am so addicted to. Young people often ask me what my cologne is. I like that they like Afta.Old habits die hard, especially if they work as well as Mennen Afta ! Sadly it hasn't been made or sold in Australia for 15 years so I have to order fr om the US.
