Beautiful and Powerful, it's like having Gina Carano for your router and Wi-Fi. I have it hooked to a Netgear Nighthawk ATT hotspot for my rural broadband connection. When my Starlink Dishy arrives, it will serve up incredibly fast internet. This baby powers a mesh system that hosts my security, and it also powers a wired Google Wi-Fi that supplies my Roku. My Obihau VOIP with Google Voice is also hooked up. All this and internet too! I am so happy that I ended a 13 year relationship with Earthlink DSL within days of putting this system together. The Linksys E5600 AC1200 Router was easy to setup with the mobile WiFi App and took less than 10 minutes to get online. I setup the Linksys E5600 in a 1690 sq/ft home with a gigabit cable internet connection utilized by over a dozen wired & wireless devices. The router administration interface is quick and organized. I was able to locate all configuration settings I required easily. I have been playing with this router for only 2 weeks but have had no issues with reboots, disconnects, or dropped connections. This router is extremely stable in all modes, as I tested as a router, wireless AP, wired bridge, and wireless bridge. Although this is not the latest or fastest WiFi technology, it works as advertised and does so with ease. This router includes many features you come to expect these days such as Guest WiFi access, Parental Controls, Push Button Connect with WPS, and 1 WiFi network. There wasn't a feature I needed that I could not find. Once I had this router online, I did have to update the router firmware, which was quick and easy using the Administration > Firmware Upgrade menu. There I was able to set "Automatic Firmware Upgrade" for future updates. While the Linksys E5600 AC1200 Router did meet my requirements and was extremely reliable, it is limited to the entry level wireless AC speed of 833 Mbps. I would highly recommend the Linksys Dual-Band AC1200 E5600 Router for a entry level WiFi router for it's range and excellent reliability.Roshambo

After unboxing, I simply had to connect an Ethernet line from the modem to the router and another from port one on the router to my computer. Once that was done, I plugged the router in and flipped the power switch on. After about a minute, the WIFI networks popped up on my computer. I connected to the 5GHz wireless network and followed the instructions for the web browser-based set up in the Quick Start Guide. Once I set my network and access information, I was tasked to upgrade the router's firmware. Once the firmware update was complete, I was taken to the System Status page in the browser. The router's System Status page provides basic router information. There are some configuration options for network administration and routing as well as parental controls. However, the moment that you click on "Configuration," the true amount of control is revealed. For an entry level router, there were a lot more administration settings than anticipated. While you can more or less set it and forget it after the step where the firmware is updated, the ability to customize connections and routing can get deep. There is also plenty of security to protect the router from outside access, but I would like to see a few things better explained in the configuration. For example, in "Security->DMZ," you can check mark DMZ and save it. If you are just playing with the settings and have no idea that DMZ does, you could inadvertently open someone's computer to the Internet without protection. By the way, it means Demilitarized Zone and it is used in cases where the firewall prevents access to another server. I like this router's sleek black look. I have gotten so used to multiple antennas on a router that when I first saw this router's box, I thought it was a modem. Watching the dimly lit blue lights blink as the router works surely beats the old days with the bright LEDs. Directly in front of me, on the top shelf of my desk in my office, the lights do not blind or distract me. The connection to the Internet via both LAN and WIFI is easy. Web pages load quickly, downloads are fast and streaming video is as smooth as butter. If you are looking for an entry level router with many of the features of more premium routers, you cannot go wrong with this one for general gaming, video streaming and web surfing.Ntanel

I bought this product about 5months ago… Linksys was great but after few months I started facing wifi signal drop issue on my smartphone. I researched and found out that Linksys router Firmware has some problem with recent Samsung devices. I personally own Samsung M31 which gets disconnected automatically from the wifi whenever I lock my phone and I have to manually reconnect each time I unlock my smartphone. This doesn't happens with any other router on any other network with my phone. Actually the problem is also faced by other Samsung users who use the same E5600 ROUTER around my house. I bought this unit, searching for very good quality execution without the top of the line cost. I especially like the more modest impression than different switches of comparable abilities and the limit with respect to associated parts was an absolute necessity with so many IOT gadgets in our home. Once designed, I delved further into the setup menu and found a hearty assortment of elements to calibrate the gadget however you would prefer. One thing that was various was that the 2.4 and 5Ghz spouse networks are viewed as one, which is fine, yet I favor separate organization names. When set up was finished, I chose to run it through its speeds. Being weighty decorations, I stacked up a 4K Netflix film on one FireStick, then, at that point, one more film from HBO Max on another, then, at that point, stacked one more film on my PC from Amazon Prime through the committed IPTV LAN port. With that, I did routine surfing, record downloading, and so forth and this thing didn't avoid a beat. Decided to give it a shot and am beyond impressed with it! Set up was a breeze, via the official app, and I was up and running in under five minutes. The one thing I love the most about this router is the number of antennas that it has! Not only were devices getting stronger connections, but I am now able to get a WiFi signal in places that I previously would have to use my phone’s cellular data connection. With the increased range and signal strength, my devices are now getting faster speeds than ever before. I used to be disappointed previously because my old router limited the speeds that I was getting via wireless networks, which was frustrating because I am paying for the highest internet speed available but was not getting it via wireless. Now, with the K7W, I am getting speeds that I usually get when connected directly to the modem. This means that my original issue of diminished performance when streaming video is gone! Videos load fast and have no need to buffer, everything runs superb and super smooth. I am beyond impressed with the performance of this router! My old Tenda router went bad after a thunderstorm here in Fort Wayne, IN. So I ordered a widely popular brand TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Router (Archer A54). It works fine when it works, but unfortunately it dropped signal pretty often although it's a brand new router. Then I ordered the Speedefy K7W router as my friend recommended strongly. I am really surprised on the signal strength I am getting. The speed is exceeding the max speed (25 Mbps) that I am supposed to get from my ISP. It has a great app that is so easy to configure pretty much anything with it- so the full control of the router is in the palm of my hands. I spent hours looking for a modem/router combination that would cover the square footage of my new apartment, be Xfinity compatible, and feature rich. The choices weren't great and I normally just rent the modem but I needed to terminate service and start over recently so I decided to stop paying $14 month renting. This modem/router has a small footprint but should run up to 20 devices. Save yourself some grief and follow the NetGear activation instructions rather than reaching out to the ISP. My installation failed at first because I wasn't registered with NetGear even though everything looked good on Xfinity's side. So far things are working well. I have all my devices including WFH working without hard-wiring with an Ethernet cable. In the past, everything I purchased from NetGear was an expensive disappointment. I got this modem/router for the apartment I’m currently living at. The apartment is just about 1000 sq. ft and is 2 stories. Between my roommates and myself, there are up to 10 devices in use at any given time. We have not had any issues whatsoever with having a strong internet connection anywhere in the apartment even though the router is located in a corner of the building. It was incredibly simple to set up using the nighthawk app. I highly recommend this modem/router for anyone living in a smaller house or apartment who wants to feel confident about their ability to stay connected.Keiran M

Recently purchased this as an open box unit and so far seems to be working fine. We had a very similar modem / router that must have been its predecessor with one in between and the one that was similar to this worked excellent until we knocked it over and it smashed and it didn't work anymore. So hopefully this one will not have that happen. Netgear makes really good routers and the one that we had in between was given to us and it was actually a more expensive model with the two antennas and cable company was doing an upgrade in the area and as far as we are concerned, they fried it. Could never get it to reboot after they did whatever they did. I prefer to own my own equipment than to give them money to rent it each month and on a modem like this, wherever you buy it, it would be yours and once you pay for it there's no monthly gateway charges.JRB Tennessee

After working from home permanently, I opted to look into mesh systems (router is downstairs, I'm upstairs in a rowhome). I tried the Orbi first and hated the user experience. It definitely meshed, but the satellite didn't like being connected to devices closest to it (defeating the point of mesh), and the app constantly failed when trying to change settings or check the status. I finally got tired of it enough, did some more research, and grabbed the eero 6+ and have loved it since we got it. Installation was incredibly easy and the app experience is stellar. My two favorite things so far are that you can rename devices in the app to help explain those devices with random, unhelpful names to keep track of them. Additionally, my satellite in the upstairs office is actually connecting to the devices that are upstairs! This (for me) means my house devices are actually split about 50/50 and feels like I'm getting actual benefits out of the satellite. Highly recommend!Greg

Great router for the speeds – Great setup and easily manageable through the app – Great support when you have to call – Terrible router if you’re a late night gamer. The first parts speak for themselves, the later tho? This router LOVES to update. It’s literally a main feature. The physical router itself will update more than any app on your phone. It kicks you off the internet and makes you lose WiFi connection. If you’re a gamer, sorry, you’re kicked from the game and you take that DNF. my router finally died on me after many years. I was very satisfied with it. When I went to Best Buy to look for a replacement I spoke to a Best Buy associate about models I was comparing. When I talked to him about signal strength and placement he told me I should consider the eero. He was absolutely correct. The signal strength I am now getting is even. The thing I love about the eero is the fact that if I need to I can move one of the the two modules anywhere I feel I need a stronger signal. But so far I havent had to do that. I have added more wifi enabled devices to the network with no problem. It has been great not having a big clunky out of place looking router be replace by an almost unnoticeable one. I am continuing my research about this system as I know their will be future enhancements made to make this system even better. For now I am totally Impressed.darrenduke

This was bought as an upgrade to the Synology RT1900ac and as I also own Synology NAS I am familiar with there OS's. For those not familiar with them it is a very easy initial setup which you can use but I recommend installing the Threat prevention software and configuring the firewall and not just rely on the default settings which do not stop a lot of the attacks. The Threat prevention shows what is happening and drops major attacks but alerts on medium and minor which you can chose to deal with there or you can configure the firewall to stop the events from getting to the prevention software. (my preference). An example was an attempted hack of my iPad, the software dropped them so no problem but I configured the firewall to stop them there. Wifi is very good all around my house. 200mb broadband and I still get anywhere from 120-180mb download speed on my iPad. You can create different networks which is useful to keep some of the suspect IOT devices away from you main network.Mike_51

I upgraded to this router for my business because of the robust security features which include firewall, threat detection, safe browsing, automatic firmware update, and 2FA for login. Also VLAN support and multiple separated networks. You can use this device to separate your IOT devices (that typically have poor security practices) and the rest of your network. The router also seems very fast. Downside is that I had a few problems with setup. Setting up the router is not totally intuitive, even for someone like me who has a lot of experience setting up routers. I had a problem with ntp time synchronization that was very hard to debug and ended up being caused by the router's sensitivity to unreliable public ntp servers. It should have been easier, although I eventually figured out that I had to pick a reliable ntp server. Reliable ntp is required to use 2FA which uses authenticator programs such as Google Authenticate. So I could not provide 5 stars, but wish I could.David

Upgrade from Synology RT2600/MR2200 mesh with dual RT6600 routers, with a plan to add a third tri-band AP (MR2200 or another RT6600). Definitely a great purchase. Pros: *much* more responsive than RT2600, doesn't choke with the Threat Protection package running, still excellent Safe Access package (great for ad-blocking!), 5.9GHz band support (used for backhaul), mini NAS server works very well. Have not tested yet but a Pro: I plan to try out using the two routers as a multi-Gig media Bridge (I'm in the US, so should be able to use the 5GHz-1 for this). Cons, so far: I could not set up either router from a wired computer or using a computer with wifi, getting invalid connection feedback; I was able to see and set up two RT6600 routers (primary, then the mesh unit) with the Synology iOS app, then updated each to the newest SRM update, no issues since both routers were updated. In mesh mode, not being able to utilize the slave router's USB port for NAS storage is still a disappointment to me. Purchased this Speedefy AC1200 Wi-Fi Router (Model K4) router because I wanted to test this new product out. From the beginning, I was not expecting but I did find it generally easy to set up. The GUI interface (192.168.3.1) from the web browser seems pretty intuitive. There are options like Bandwidth control, parental control, IPv6, and more. I was surprised by the options that this router gives at the price point. The Wi-Fi was pretty decent compared to other AC1200 routers out there. At the price point that this Wi-Fi router is selling at it is worth a look at.S

Got this router to replace a Linksys router that kept disconnecting and acting up. Decided to give this guy a try and was not disappointed. The Speedify Model K4 is not complicated at all: simply connect the power adapter, ethernet cable to the WAN port from your modem and you are all set. You can choose to configure the router (password, SSID, etc.) if you want to change things from the default settings by either downloading the Speedify app or through a PC web browser. I was up and running in less than 5 minutes from taking it out of the box. This router does the things other routers of double the cost do, maybe even better.Jevon

I bought this router to put all my home devices in a separate network to make it easier for me to manage. I liked this model because of the following: 1 – Cost/Benefit – this is one of the best prices 2 – Easy to Configure – Using their app it took me less than 20 minutes to have it up and running. 3 – Range – My new house is big and I have some cameras outside that are far away and are working just fine with the 2.4Ghz network. 4 – it looks cool. It was time to upgrade my outdated wireless router, so I head to my local big box retailer. To my surprise, I found the Netgear R6260 on sale at an amazingly low price considering it’s performance specs compared to other routers with similar specs and even some with less performance. I get home and got everything ready to install my new R6260 wireless router. I first downloaded the Nighthawk App per the instructions and continued to follow the in-app instructions. Within about 10-15 minutes, I had downloaded the app, connected the router to my modem, customized my network and was up and running. I was blown away at the ease of installation, customizable features, and awesome performance throughout all of my devices. We bought this router because we had a Netgear N150, which performed well for the past 6 years. However, since we recently upgraded our internet speed to 400 mbps, we need a faster router. This one advertise a speed of 1600 mbps. It's a joke. I could barely get 50 mbps standing right next to the router. The worst part is, it disconnects every 30 minutes. For the few days we had it, I got disconnected from meetings give times and my son got disconnect from school and had to retake his midterm. We spend hours calling Specturm and doing research online trying to figure our what the problem is. We initially thought it was the modem, but after connecting our old N150 back, everything went back to normal. No more disconnections. We then purchased a TP-Link Archer A7, and it was spectacular. It is superfast and no more disconnections. Conclusion: This Netgear router is piece of junk, it's worst then my 6 year old N150, and it's even compare to the TP-Link Archer A7. We were lucky that we were able to return it, but we got a lot of headache and wasted a lot of time on it.Hi

This is a very straightforward router. If you want 5 GHz wifi6 and that's all you want, that's exactly what this router provides. Nothing fancy, which also means you're not paying extra for features you'll never use. I've had this for a couple of months and the speeds can vary drastically. It can go from 2-5mbs to 20-40mbs depending. There is no way to lock the band on the device as you would a MOFI modem. I live right outside of town (population about 20k and outside of Baltimore) with cell towers nearby. My cell phone has no speed issues. I connected an external antenna and that helped a bit but have to restart the device often to get better speeds. Maybe my nearby towers are overrun or getting throttled but AT&T?Nesto

I have been using the Orbi 4g router for almost a year now and have to say that I love it, the security is amazing. The functionality is incredibly user friendly and the best part is I can take it anywhere in my bag with my laptop and have 4g high speed internet anywhere I go. The user interface is very easy to manage and understand. I would recommend this 4g router over every other on the market based on my knowledge of most of the others out there solely because of how secure it actually is, and it’s useability user friendliness. I have been repairing electronics for about 20 years now and I highly recommend this router to anyone who wants the ability to have high speed internet where you might otherwise not be able to get it, or simply because you travel and this can be used in a vehicle quite easily with only an inverter. I was really looking forward to receiving this item. Great service from Very was delivered promptly. Upon receiving it I was looking to use it with my EE data sim, I followed the instructions and was expecting to pretty much put in the sim, download the app and that would pretty much be it. I wouldn’t do that and kept asking for APN values after a couple of calls to EE managed to get those. Entered these details and worked through the app and still no luck. I even tried to use the alternative option of doing it via the orbi login page but still no luck with it. I decided not to give up a d leave it a while and try all those options again and again and it just didn’t want to connect as it should. I eventually decided it was wasted effort and although it sounds like it would be a great product it just does not work for EE UK well certainly not for me. So the item has been packaged and returned. If you are with EE and in the UK I wouldn’t bother and save yourself the time and money.AndyM

The only way, for me, to login was; as I eventually discovered; to input the devices IP address into the browser. The default error message "cannot connect with router, need to wireless" is a favorite. It pops up logging -in Trying to install PLEX Installing NAS credentials. The software does not provide a menu of folders to add but, insists one inputs the absolutely correct name for each folder [not necessarily the one the OS displays. I bought the Nighthawk Modem & Router. Could have saved a lot of money and bought a cheapie and spent the money elsewhere. The setup & user interface needs to be completely re-written with the manufacturer doing all the work and the purchaser plugging & playing (an expression, that itself, was a joke} One has to remember all the glowing reviews are done by people who set this sort of stuff up on a daily basis. Most people don't. Manufacturers still charge high prices for beta or incomplete or insufficient setup procedures. Been this way since the Home-brew Club, needs to change. YMMVklp51d8

I recently dropped cable (internet & TV) since fiber optics finally became available in my area. Since I was going to be solely relying on streaming to receive content on all of our TVs and devices now, I knew it was going to be necessary to upgrade my current AC1750 router (Linksys EA7400). This R9000 by Netgear is absolutely perfect. It's super fast and comes with tons of useful features. The Nighthawk App is far superior to the App that was provided with my current model as it allows more user-configurable options and is very easy to utilize. I saw a significant increase in WiFi range, both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels. The LAN ports allow port aggregation on ports 1 & 2 for NAS attachment and the router is configured to run PLEX media server. This router also allows for VPN connection along with providing some built-in firewall protection. Overall, I am very pleased with this router.Adam24649

The R7800 is not for the faint of heart. My meaning is that it will require some preparation and some reading. Certainly, plugging the router straight into the cable modem should work fairly well as a sort of plug-and-play device. Nevertheless, some set up will be required. Conversely, this is the superlatives advanced router that comes equipped with many advanced features that I will allow the reader to research all by themselves! I do like the on and off switch on the back! Finally, a device that one can turn off at will! For reasons that I cannot fathom, manufacturers of many varieties of in-home use Internet connected devices come without on off switch in capability. My Roku ultra device for example, has no on or off switch. I do believe this is entirely asinine! The perverted neurotic obsession to force consumers to keep devices switched on and running 24 hours per day 365 days per year is simply evil to say the very least. There is a clear intent here to undermine the ability of the consumer to control Internet connected devices. In fact, it is quite likely that net gear will probably remove the on and off switch for the back of this router perhaps for its next model release of this roter. I recommend connecting these devices to a power supply that you can easily turn offat will. Cheers and never surf the web without a safety net! I live in a rural area where internet reception is quite frankly just terrible; thanks to satellite internet. While I’ve gotten used to this, having this Netgear router definitely made everything so much easier for not just I but the entire household. The router is incredibly simple to set up and manage that it took me no time at all to get it up and running the way I like it. Plus, the app works effortlessly with the router. It’s incredible that I can control my entire router from wherever I am, just from my phone. I’ve never experienced any reliability issues or any concerns with this router, it always seems to be working when we need it. I can only imagine how crazy good this router will become once we get cable internet. This router deserves 5 stars for obvious reasons. The price is also, in my opinion, fair for the performance you receive, even if I currently can’t take advantage of it. I’d definitely recommend this router, but also any Netgear router to people. I’ve seen other routers made by other companies that really don’t seem to compete with Netgear routers in terms of reliability and also security. The Nest Wifi Pro is a quick and easy way to upgrade home network and give it boost with Wi-Fi 6E. Not only does it look good great, but it’s super easy to setup as all it requires is power (which is included), and an ethernet cable to connect your Nest Wi-Fi Pro to your home network modem, router, and/or switch. I love how simple and easy it was to add to my home network as it required no additional configuration, the Nest Wifi Pro was literally plug and play. Once everything’s plugged in, install Google Home App on your phone (if you don’t already have the app), and follow the instructions. What I love most about this setup is that the Nest Wi-Fi Pro really does it all on its own. This is perfect for people whom want a fast and reliable home Wi-Fi network without knowing the technical details of how it all works. Each mesh router covers 2200 sq ft, so a single unit maybe sufficient for most homes, however it’s just as easy to add another one or two into your mesh setup. Nest Wi-Fi Pro’s biggest selling point of course would be the addition of Wi-Fi 6E which really helps if you have a plethora of Wi-Fi enabled devices in your home. It works well to improve speed and alleviate congestion as you would now have three bands of connectivity. While I was anticipating excellent/improved speeds, it does not seem to be as advertised as my home network seemed to be bottled around 70-90 mb/s when compared to my current mesh home network setup which normally runs around 200-300 mb/s during the peak hours and upwards of 500-600 mb/s during off hours (for reference, I have FIOS gig internet service but well over 40 Wi-Fi enabled devices in our home). This was pretty disappointing as a swap of hardware would not lead me to expect such a dramatic drop in speed/performance. The interesting thing was that when I ran speed tests through the Google Home app, it seems to show speeds of 600 mb/s, but it doesn’t measure up with real world scenarios. I’m incline to think there maybe some firmware bugs and/or circumstances that maybe causing a cap on the network speed. Still trying to troubleshoot the setup to improve speeds. A quick Google of Nest Wifi Pro issue does seem to indicate that I’m not alone with lackluster speeds. Overall, the Nest Wifi Pro has a good value proposition, however it seems that I may not be experiencing the best that the hardware has to offer at this point. If it does end up working as advertised, then it’s an excellent option if you’re looking to improve your overall home network. However, if already have a reliable mesh network and don’t have many Wi-Fi enabled devices, chances are, you don’t need to upgrade simply for Wi-Fi6E at this point. If you are looking for a quick and simple mesh setup that will give you Wi-Fi6, then the Nest Wifi Pro maybe it as it priced very competitivity in the market where Wi-Fi6 is still not readily available.Felix

I recently got the Nest Wi-Fi Pro. Up front, the Nest Wi-Fi Pro is NOT a modem/router combo. You will need an Internet Service Provider (ISP) supported modem (or modem/router combo, set in Bridged mode) in which to plug the Nest Wi-Fi Pro to get internet service. OOB: you get the modern-looking Nest Wi-Fi Pro (with a very small 5” tall x 3” wide footprint – in Snow, Fog, Linen, or Lemongrass), a 22 watt power adapter, a white, slim ethernet cable (no bright, obnoxious yellow or blue cable), and setup instructions. On the reverse, you have an Ethernet in (from your modem), a power jack, and an Ethernet out (to another device, e.g., a laptop or another Nest Wi-Fi Pro that will serve as a wired extender). Although you can also connect other Nest Wi-Fi pros wirelessly to create a mesh network. There are no physical buttons on the Nest. The only light is a status light that can be set, in the Google Home app, to high, low, or off. Specs: The Nest Wi-Fi Pro provides Wi-Fi 6E, using the 802.11ax Wi-Fi standard (AXE5400, tri-band (2×2 (6 GHz), 2×2 (5 GHz), 2×2 (2.4 GHz)) mesh system that allows combined wireless speeds of up 5.4 Gbps, with automatic band steering. The 6Ghz band (while much faster than their slower counterparts) is intended for close range, indoor, connections… e.g., other 6GHz devices, such as other Nest Pros. The Nest offers proactive 802.11k/v client steering for seamless mesh point roaming for uninterrupted Wi-Fi, auto-QoS for video calls, and device prioritization for up to 8 hours. The Nest can handle up to 100 connected devices per extender and has a Dual-core 64-bit ARM CPU, with 1 GB RAM, 4 GB flash onboard. It covers up to 2200 sq ft (each additional Nest Pro provides another 2200 sq ft of coverage, with Google recommending no more than five in a home). But, coverage mileage may vary though depending on where you put the device… a central, exposed area is best. From a smart home perspective, the Nest supports Matter, Thread border routing, Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), and is, of course, ready for 6Ghz smart devices when market ready. Setup: Geared more toward the general consumer and not more tech-savvy individuals, setup is super easy. Download the Google Home app. Connect your existing modem to your Nest’s “in” connection. Or set any existing modem/router to bridged mode (much easier than it sounds, with a little web research) and then connect to the Nest. Plug in the Nest. Open the Google Home app, which will find the Nest, and follow directions. The app walks you through everything and does all the work for you. A few notes. Ensure that your device’s Bluetooth connection is on. Make sure you’re in a well-lit room to scan the QR code on the Nest’s underside when prompted. When creating a Wi-Fi network name (if you have an existing wireless network and you want your devices to connect to the Nest easily) give the Nest network the same name as your current wireless network. When creating a password (if using the same network name) use the same password. Confirmed… you must agree to turn on Nest Wi-Fi cloud services if you want to use Family Wi-Fi, Guest Network, Advanced Networking, and Device Lists available in the Google Home app. If you have an active internet connection, the Nest will search for and update its software/firmware and will restart. With the network setup done, you manage the network in the Google Home app. “Wi-Fi” will appear as a selection option. Tap “Wi-Fi.” You’ll see connectivity status (internet, Wi-Fi devices, and, if cloud services are enabled, devices connected to the Nest), an option to run a network speed test (I was able to consistently get my standard wireless speeds through the Nest, from different points both inside and outside my house on my cell phone), as well as the following cards: Devices List, Family Wi-Fi, and Guest Network. In the app’s Settings you’ll see the following options… change network name and password, Family Wi-Fi, Guest Network, Preferred Activities (i.e., video conferencing and/or gaming), notification settings (new device, new device (guest network), password mismatches, and lost connections), advanced network settings ((do not change these settings unless you know what you’re doing – WPA3, 160Ghz for 5Ghz channels, UPnP, enable/disable IPv6, DNS, WAN, LAN, DHCP IP reservations, Port Management (requires cloud services), and Network mode (allowing you to set the Nest Pro itself into NAT or Bridged mode). From Settings you can also view open-source licenses, restart the network (i.e., the Nest Pro) or factory reset the network (i.e., again, the Nest Pro). With cloud services enabled, you’re able to see the devices connected the Nest Pro… including signal strength, how much data they’re using (upload and download… by real-time, per day, week, and month) and have the ability to pause / prioritize device-specific internet connections (the latter of which ensures that at least 80% of your internet bandwidth is dedicated to that device… e.DetailzGuy

Using the Google Home app is convenient enough, they work well when working properly but frequent drops after a couple weeks I can’t seem to figure out why and my old system doesn’t do it. I had a 3 mesh setup of Samsung Connect Home Pros before and the wifi speeds were terrible but the connection was solid and barely ever completely stopped working like these have been doing. Getting them to connect properly, even after looking up videos still took over an hour. Not to tout my own knowledge but I’ve worked in the tech industry for over a decade so I’m pretty versed in setting up networking equipment, and while the steps are simple…just getting them to actually find and complete setup was just annoying. Had to continually reboot and kept them right next to each other still had trouble connecting the mesh initially, it’d find it in the app but unable to setup for seemingly no reason…it finally just worked after numerous reboots. Overall the speeds are good but for the latest and greatest I was expecting the max speeds I can get. If I connect the LAN I have 600Mbps and with the Samsung’s I typically got 150-200Mbps wireless. With these I typically get 400-500Mbps. I’ve tried everything to figure out why the drop from the main router and have no idea. If I don’t have the mesh setup at all I get the full 600Mbps speeds but much shorter range of course. I am fine with those speeds, it’s the every other day disconnections that have become frustrating. Rebooting fixes it but no clue why the main unit cuts out from the connection to the modem. It’s definitely not the modem based on replugging in the Samsung’s for a few days and no issues. The range is good on them, the speeds are fine but certainly not impressive (I did try a doupble priced 2-pack Orbi and they had around 500Mbps speeds off the mesh but no issues disconnecting). I’m tempted to return these but I wanted to like them for the value. I don’t know if it’s defective or if the mesh is really that poor on the distance (each is about 20-25ft from each other) causing the random disconnects, not quite full speeds, and the bad taste from the initial experience I’m not real impressed.Matthew

The bottom line is this. The modem is fast and all, but it covers a very short distance I used this to replace a six year old Arris modem. The problem is that this modem will not broadcast over as wide an area as the prior one did. I have Ring cameras and a front door keypad lock, all connected to WIFI that this new modem won't reach. It's really sad. This is an inferior product, plain and simple. Now I either need to use an extender or get a new modem to replace this one. It's just ridiculous that a six year old modem will out distance a new, state of the art modem. PatheticWeb

I purchase the Motorola MG8725 AX6000 cable modem router as a replacement for the Netgear CAX80-100NAS AX6000. These two devices offer similar specifications. They both tout AX6000 Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and both have gigabit (1gbps) and multi-gigabit (2.5gbps) LAN ports. I am a Comcast Xfinity customer who recently upgraded to the Extreme Pro 1200 plan and needed to upgrade my DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem to a DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem to take advantage of the speed in my new plan. While the Netgear CAX80 suffers from wired connectivity problems, the Motorola MG8725 excelled. The CAX80 would randomly drop my wired connection from its 2.5GbE port from my PC ruining gaming experiences and downloads. This occurs only when using the 2.5GbE port on the cable modem and a 2.5GbE port on my PC. However, on Netgear's community page, many users complained of the same issue and suggest that disabling the Wi-Fi on the device would "fix" the issue; and it did. But that is crippling my $500 experience. The MG8725 does not make me suffer from choosing fast Wi-Fi 6 or fast 2.5GbE connections. In short, it just works, as advertised. It also costs $100 less than that of Netgear's offering/solution. The set up was very easy and straight forward. The device has more customization options and I feel more in control of what my device can do according to my preferences. It's a great start to a new relationship between me and Motorola. If you're looking for a device that can provide a strong, fast, wireless network while also allowing you to access above 1000mbps speeds through a wired connection, give this device a chance. The Motorola MT8733 is the absolute best and easiest to install cable modem I have ever purchased! I replaced a Netgear C7100V which is a piece of junk and really difficult to install. The Moto app is easy to use and informative. The link to get xfinity to activate the modem worked! It’s super fast and reliable. It works nicely with my Orbi mesh system and my home is now fully wired with fast WiFi for the first time ever! Highly recommend this product even if it is $200 more than the Netgear alternatives!DJAudio

Zero stars. Do not buy. Made the mistake of thinking it might be better to get a cable modem and router in one, especially made the mistake of getting this Netgear C6250 pure garbage of a product. Wasted two hours of time, one hour with Xfinity tech support doing resets, then another hour with Netgear support with a tech support agent who had a noisy child and family in the background, finally for the agent to conclude after three reset attempts that this device is defective. Brand new out of a sealed box. Issue was a molasses slow download speed, this wasn’t an issue with the previous setup of a different (separate) modem and separate wifi router. Another issue was the 5Ghz SSID would not show despite checking broadcast settings being ON. Never touching a Netgear product again.Stag97

I set up my NETGEAR AC1600 Cable Modem Router to replace my Xfinity rental router. I am not a “TechGeek”, and it only required a single cable and power cord swap out. Then a simple call to my internet provider and I was back online. From there it was easy to get my WiFi Thermostat and WiFi sprinkler system connected. I would highly recommend the NETGEAR AC1600 Cable Modem Router without hesitation. Oh, did I mention it will pay for itself in less than a year and then I’m putting money in my pocket every month after that! Don’t hesitate, every month you delay it costs you money.Drblood2

The equipment is great, but the setup for this device was kind of a horror show. The biggest problem was that the app you need to set it up (and referenced in the included documents) isn't actually compatible (per my conversation with their tech support), and made the whole installation process more aggravating than necessary. Thankfully, this wasn't my first rodeo, so I got it set up and working and honestly I really love not having to use separate devices for both modem and router. This is the best mesh point system that I have bought. We have Xfinity internet and our router can’t give the whole house internet as we have a big house. This 3 google nest mesh point system delivers to the whole house without dead spots and switches out device’s to the closest point. I have used netgear and I would always be connected to whatever point connected to my phone when I would get home and it would stay connected to that point until I was out of range. With the Google mesh points, the router points know basically where your device is and switches automatically so you have the best internet connection with fast speeds and no interruptions. Where the netgear I had several problems with being connected and not having good speeds and or even having connection but no internet. I’m very impressed with Google and there technology on this product. Recently moved from a small one-bedroom apartment into a house, so the drop in WiFi signal from one end of the house to the other was surprising. Our internet speeds are 200 Mbps down/ 10 Mbps up and we receive that while in the room with the router. Moving to the other end of the home where we sleep and that signal would drop to around 30 mbps down and 8 Mbps up. After purchasing this kit, the router is still on one side of the home, we have one access point in the middle of the home in our library and another in the primary bedroom and we maintain the 200 Mbps down / 10 Mbps pretty much everywhere in and around the home. We're already a decently heavy Google household so the fact that the access points double as voice assistants is pretty handy as well. The largest con to the Nest Wifi router is the fact that it only has one ethernet port. This is fine, because an 8 port Gigabit Ethernet switch is like $25 at most. But I can see how people who aren't necessarily tech-savvy have no idea what a network switch even is. The other con is the lack of choosing what WiFi network to connect to (whether it be 5 Ghz or 2.4 GHz). For the most part, the automation works well, but there are a few times where my partners desktop will only connect to 2.4 Ghz and it leaves her with a slightly slower connection. Overall kinda minor, as it quickly adjusts, but still an inconvenience. With that being said, I still think this Mesh Router from Nest is the go-to option for those who are already a Google household. So far, the issues presented are minor at best, but I would highly recommend picking up a network switch with this router to ensure you have enough Ethernet ports available.Matt

We were looking to extend our gigabit wifi coverage and already owned the previous generation Google Wifi mesh extenders, so I figured upgrading to the Google Nest Wifi made sense as the old version had served us well. These newer ones perform as advertised: stronger coverage over a wider area thanks to the updated hardware in the current units! We upgraded to whole home security cameras, so I wanted to ensure we didn’t see any dropouts or higher battery drain due to poor wireless speed/strength, and so far I’m happy to report they are working out great. A big positive for me was the hardware microphone mute for these units. Honestly I would have preferred being able to buy these without the built-in microphone/voice assistance feature just out of privacy concerns, but being able to disable it manually on the hardware itself and see the LEDs on the bottom of the points change to Orange/Red to show the mic is disabled once you flip the switch is handy. The biggest negative I have for these was that the setup was not flawless, and even required me to reach out to support as it wasn’t anything that could be fixed through standard troubleshooting like power cycling or doing a factory reset and redoing the network setup from scratch. The other issue I had was trying to add my old google wifi units as access points since their documentation notes the old ones could still be used as long as you didn’t try to exceed their recommended “limit” of having no more than 5 access points connected to a single router. After factory resetting the older units and trying to add them to the mesh network, I noticed considerable issues with signal degradation as it seemed like it was actually introducing interference rather than boosting signal coverage in other areas of the house. The new Google Home app that lets you control/monitor your network is pretty good overall as well, aside from returning a lot of “Unnamed Device” names for the hardware found on our network – I don’t recall the old “Google Wifi” app having the same issue. Slight negatives aside, I am still quite pleased with the newer Google Nest Wifi mesh router and access points – the speeds are solid, they transmit fairly well throughout the walls and home in general, and aside from the initial setup hiccups, they’ve been performing flawlessly ever since. Overall, I’d highly recommend the Nest Mesh router/points system and since the rating system doesn’t allow it, I’d note that if possible I’d give this one 4.5 stars out of 5.Matt

This is the best purchase ever. The default NBN modem/routers that come from your provider are very bad. But you can use them as modem only (as a bridge) and pait it with this fantastic and superfast Ax10 Wifi router. I have seen my speed go up spectacularly and the connections are way more stable! So far the router has been working flawlessly. Easy to setup. Had it up and running within 10mins. Has good wifi range. Covered my 3 bedroom house no problems at all. The one thing a hate is that it has to connect to a top level domain server every 30sec. Its to check to see it your internet is still up and running. A heat beat. The Eero Pro 6e is the perfect mesh system for high end internet speeds of 1+ gigs and anyone looking for a user friendly Wifi setup. This is my first time using an Eero product and I’ve been very impressed. I’ve always used Linksys routers in the past and had a mesh system with them in place before I received the Eero Pro 6e system. The Linksys system was always bit of a pain to setup, the steps seemed easy enough but sometimes it would take multiple attempts for the different nodes to connect to the system. With the Eero I didn’t have any of those problems whatsoever. Setup took less then 15 minutes and was so simple I believe my 70 year old mother could have been able to setup this product and she’s SUPER tech challenged. The Eero’s came packaged in a sleek box and the nodes themselves are small, compact and sleek looking. Each unit has 2 ethernet connections so if you have devices that you want to hard wire in that is possible. Initial speed tests showed me getting over 900mbps throughout my entire home which is a huge upgrade considering my last system was only getting about 500-600 even though we have 1 gigabit AT&T fiber. I was able to even get those speeds sitting outside my home which is very useful if we want to maybe stream to devices outside when we have people over to watch football games. The Eero app is user friendly and has a host of cool features but unfortunately some of them are only accessible through the $99 dollar subscription program they have. With Eero Plus You can create profiles if you want to control what kind of sites or apps your children are able to access. You can see historical data and use DDNS features as well as Ad blocking and VIP support. One free feature that I found very useful is being able to dim or completely turn off the status light on the Nodes themselves. I know it sounds silly but my TV sits across from our bed in our master bedroom and there’s a small white light similar to the Eero status lights that I cover up almost every night so its not beaming at me like a headlight. There are some more advanced features that are free like Port Forwarding and DHCP & NAT. But I admittedly probably won't use those features very much, but I'm glad they're available. Overall I am very happy with the Eero 6e Pro system. It finally allows us to hit gigabit speeds throughout the home while being user friendly and super easy to setup. This triband Wireless 6e router uses the latest in wireless technology to provide a low congestion 6ghz band signal to allow for faster and cleaner connections to your router to assist in offering the fastest speeds on your local network. Eero makes it so that anyone, no matter the tech level, can purchase and connect this mesh system, as long as they can download an app and follow directions. I loved the unboxing experience of this router. With 3 units, everything is packaged very neatly inside the box so you can grab one at a time and go through the setup process with each. The first step is getting the app and setting up an Eero account. Then follow directions for adding a router to your home network. It’ll guide you through the steps of disconnecting your old router and connecting your new one to your modem. Once complete, you can then use the app to set up additional units providing a wide range of wifi coverage across your home or property. My modem fairly centered to the living room but I wanted to expand wifi out to my front yard and garage. When adding the additional access points, I didn’t have any connection problems and was able to get good signal putting one in my bedroom (using only wireless internet connections and a power cable) and another in my garage. I didn’t want to fall back on my wireless connection while looking up how-to videos in my garage, so this was ideal. This is what I call an “app managed” router. This seems to be a more popular approach, but it simplifies the setup and management process for those who are not quite as savvy with adjusting technical settings of their home network. This is a plus and a minus in my book. On one hand, it makes things much easier for the majority of people, on the other hand, it also restricts you from fine tuning your network to your liking or wireless environment. With that being said, it’s very easy to see what is connected to your router as well as the ability to group different items to make parental controls and monitoring a walk in the park. I made a completely new network with the setup of this router so I could add each item one by one and group them based on function or type. For example, smart home devices, PCs, and personal devices (phones, tablets, watches) all got grouped in their respective categories. Although I do not have kids, I could see where this would be useful if you wanted to create groups for individual children for game consoles or phones to limit screen time. As for customization, it doesn’t leave you completely in the dark. You can still do, what I now consider a standard features, port forwarding and DHCP reservations. You can also adjust your DNS server, turn on or off your UPnP, as well as a feature called client steering which makes sure you’re on the router with the strongest signal and therefore likely the fastest connection. There’s also “Thread”, which is a low power wireless standard that devices can connect to. The device also has Zigbee built in so if you’re Smart home is built on this standard, you can use the eero as a hub. Performance seems right in line with what I expect with a clean 6ghz wireless signal. My PC which is one of my few 6e devices, negotiates at 2.1 gbps at the highest, but averages around 1.2 to 1.4 gbps. This is, on paper, FASTER than a wired connection. The reality is, depending on if your device is WiFi 6e capable and distance to your router, you may or may not see those speeds. BUT I will say, using fast.com to test my speeds, under the best conditions, I was hitting my advertised speeds (1 Gig Fiber) from my ISP which is very impressive considering I’ve only seen these speeds under wired connection (940 download and 800 upload on Eero wireless router). As for local network file transfers, well I have a windows PC as a server, and lets say SMB isn’t the fastest file transfer protocol, but I transferred a file across the network at 74 MB/s average. This was from a NVMe drive to a HDD, which is a common setup for network file backup. Another added bonus is if you want to wire your devices to the access points, each one comes with 2 ethernet ports. If you have a device that’s ethernet only or want to spread out wired devices so it doesn’t crowd the desk, this makes that convenient. The biggest downfall of this router is the subscription based parental controls and monitoring. Instead of building these into the product like other routers, eero has opted to get a few more bucks out of you by charging $99.99/year for these features. You don’t have to make the purchase, and the router works fine without them, but there are routers available that include this in their purchase price without a subscription. Another thing I would have liked to have seen would have been a QoS feature where I can prioritize traffic on the network by device. This is great for streaming or gaming devices where it’s network traffic is important to be prioritized to sustain the quality of picture and latency. It’s hTravisJ

Was excited about a Wi-Fi 6e router at a great price, but with that price comes some very large limitations. Was coming from a Velop Wi-Fi 5 setup prior. Here are the limitations: – No browser interface to manage router, must use app – WPA3 support is beta, is really WPA2/WPA3 not WPA3 Personal – No ability for advanced network management, can’t configure a MAC address filter, which bands are in use, channels, anything – No ability to manually configure device prioritization Here are the privacy concerns: – By default, your email address and name are used and uploaded to Facebook to be used for targeted advertising not only by Eero, but any advertisers that uses audience targeting. You have to email them with a specific subject line to opt-out – By default, you are enrolled in a trial of their Secure service, which further uses your personal data – Your device unique IDs are collected and used for targeting products and services to you. This unique ID allows advertisers to create profiles and link activity across 3rd parties – Eero collects the unique IDs and MAC addresses of all devices that connect to your network With an extremely limited ability to manage advanced settings, no ability manage the device from a browser, you can only use the app, no ability to see detailed logging of traffic on your network or what the router actually is doing, limited support for WPA3…you would be better off spending more money and getting a Wi-Fi 6e router that does not obscure it’s management functions and logging and provides finer-grained control over configuration. This is not really a “Pro” device. If you are a novice and want an inexpensive 6e router and are not concerned about your personal data, then this is not a bad option. If you want more control over your network security and desire more transparency, try a device like Linksys Atlas AXE8400. That is what I am replacing this with.Jason
