I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they are right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially in the top which is longer. My hair is shorter on the sides and since I sleep on my side the definition fades sooner. I still had a little definition on my sides day 4, but the top still had curls. The first time I used it I only used a moisturizing deep conditioner and the mousse. It did great defining my curls, but left my hair very dry. The next time I used a moisturizing deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a moisturizing gel, and a sealing oil with the mousse. Sounds like a lot, but this is the process I have to use every wash day to keep my hair moisturized for 3 days. I did not have any problems with dry hair at all this time. I have thick heavy waves/curls. The product worked well when I used it with a leave in conditioner. The day I was in a rush and didn't put a leave in my hair was course and felt dehydrated. It doesn't help to clump your curls on it's own, but was easy to style and mold my curls with my brush. Dried quickly and smelled good. I didn't get a chance to use it for a long period of time to see the overall quality. The bottle untwisted just enough while under my sink and spilled. Luckily I had it in a container. The bottle easily untwist. You should keep the product right side up and make sure it doesn't knock over. Unfortunately it's the bottle quality that keeps me from buying this again. By day 3 of using the foaming lotion to style my baby hair i had some irritation in my forehead but it wasn’t too bad. I took a break for a few days from using it or styling my wig & when I used it again it started to severely burn my forehead. I wiped the product off & did continued use. This is now a staple in my hair styling routine. I have been spraying this on my hair every day before I walk out the door. It is a very lightweight hairspray and the hold is perfect for my needs. What I most love about this product is that it keeps my hair safe from frizz throughout the day. I have found that if I spray too much it sometimes leaves a slight white residue on my hair but this doesn’t happen very often and it’s not very noticeable. I received this sample from Influenster for my honest review. To begin, my hair is type 1 and slightly on the dry side. It thin to medium, unprocessed and is fairly silky. For me, this worked okay, not great (although I’m not one to style my hair often). It has a decent hold and decent humidity resistance. The crunch is expected for a firm hold so I did not mind it as long as it held my hair in place. For an average day, it held my hair for a few hours (not all day). The smell is good, but I have a sensitive nose so the smell does linger on for quite a bit which I don’t particularly enjoy. One concern I do have is that I noticed a bit of a white residue on my hair with this. I should mention, however, that my sister tried it and said she liked it and that it held her hair well. I will start by saying that I deducted a star because it says this is a humidity-resistant hairspray and I was super excited about that element of this product but I didn't notice any humidity protection. This hairspray also holds my hairstyle extremely well and for the whole day. The thing I love most about this hairspray is that it provides so much volume to my hair! I've used a couple of different volumizing hair sprays but this one provided the best results, it just didn't last because the humidity flattened my hair and curls. If you don't like scents, you may not like this. It has a hairspray smell mixed with a slight floral type of smell. I like it, it smells better than other hairsprays to me. I found it pretty hard to wash this hairspray out of my hair, which is a good thing because it probably holds up well in the rain. When i rub this product into my hands to apply to my hair it has a very off putting smell. I have used it a few times and it has done nothing for my hair as far as how it looks after i use it and does not make my hair smell nice. Man I love this stuff. I use a curl refresh spray from Sexy Hair (I think, it's a blue can) for day two curls, and this stuff for days three to five. It's a little too heavy for clean hair but perfect for all the other days. There is a learning curve. Too much will make hair crunchy and gross, too little will do nothing. It took two uses to find the right amount for my hair. I have shoulder length wavy/curly hair, medium fine thickness with A LOT of hair. I pump four times in my hands and prayer hand it down a clump of hair as wide as my palms. It takes me four goes to get around my whole head. Then I scrunch lightly and done! It does leave hair feeling a little wet at first but dries quickly and my hair looks better than day one. No frizz at all, very defined curls. When I am going to use a mousse, I always have some expectation of a certain “feeling” in terms of the texture of my hair. The reviews that state that it is difficult to run your fingers through are true… it is… but it feels more like strong hold hair spray. In areas I put too much, it is stiffer but if I did it lightly and directly on my roots, it does not feel that way. I have fine hair for reference. Now the important part and the reason I purchased the product…volume. I have SO MUCH volume. Even when I flatten my hair and then try to “fluff” it up again, it’s so voluminous.

I'm really tired of mousse that are too strong or sticky. This mousse is GREAT and no sticky feel. It really does a great job giving my hair lift. I have layered, color treated shoulder length hair. Sometimes I style it straight, sometimes in a natural wave. This works well either way. And did I say, no sticky feel??!Mature and still wearing makeup!

This didn't do anything for my hair–maybe my hair is just too fine/thin? I have long, very fine/thin hair. When I first started using this I started out with maybe 7 pumps and ending up going up to 14 pumps with basically no results. I put it in freshly shampooed, damp hair. I experimented with blow-drying and allowing my hair to air dry afterward. With both forms of drying, my hair looked fluffier (than using nothing at all) for about the first 2 hours then fell completely flat and limp like I didn't put any products in it. The only pros were that it did not have an overpowering smell, was lightweight and did not make my hair greasy nor did it dry it out like some mousses can but it just didn't live up to it's claims of volume and fullness. Given the amount of positive reviews on it, it's probably just the fact that my hair is just too fine! I would only recommend this to someone if their hair is of normal thickness or thicker. Love this product. I have wave/curls, and this makes my waves hold, prevents them from falling flat and frizzy, and allows my curls to actually form. I typically have to wash my hair every 3 days, and most products I’ve tried tend to build up and make my hair greasy before day 3. This one doesn’t. This product had good hold but I am dissatisfied with how quickly it went flat. I used as directed but the bottle has at least 90% of contents left and no longer expands into a foam when dispensed. It is a runny mess to use and I suspect I use too much when it doesn’t expand. Hair ends up heavy and frozen as if it is still wet. I will not purchase this product again.Jenny
Everything about the packaging is great except I do find it hard to only get small bit into your hand. This could be a good and bad thing depending on how you use the product but when I use it I do have to waste some product because so much comes out. The results left my hair very voluminous. I had a huge difference in my hair, which was great. It lasted a while which was even better. The only downfall is it did leave my hair feeling greasy, if I would run my hands through my hair, my hands would feel oily with the residual product on them. My hair did also begin to look oily towards the end of the day (this was freshly cleaned hair and my hair normally doesnt get oily until I sleep on it for a night). But I did overall love the lift result and someone elses hair may absorb it way differently than mine and may not actually leave any residual product. I usually like this product as it gets my hair nicely loose and volumed for blowdrying, and so I ordered 2 bottles online. One of them is fine but the other doesn’t foam up when pumped – it comes out as liquid mush. Returning is too much of a hassle – who has time for that for a $13 product. I have a love hate relationship with this product so let me get the pro's and con's out there for you. I use a lot of Suave products and find them to be just as good if not better than the high price items. The price is reasonable and the results are just what we all need. I used the prior version for several years on my 2b/2c curls. My hair is fine and I need the hold of a lightweight mousse. I bought this new version without realizing the new nozzle went with a new formulation of the product. It went from a whipped cream consistency to something that looks and feels like the bubbles at the end of your bubble bath. It falls apart immediately and you can't tell how much to use without your hair getting crunchy and weighed down. My hair looks bedraggled. I love this product for many reasons. It gives me such lovely definition, volume and texture without leaving a sticky residue and the ingredients are fantastic. I also feel like it plays nicely with every other product I have tried with it. It took me awhile to figure out what application method worked best for my hair and now that I have it down, my hair comes out beautifully, not just on wash day or the day following, but for the entire week, my curls look gorgeous with very little maintenance. I prefer to style my hair with a leave in, a gel/custard/souffle and then I diffuse until it partially dry. Once my hair is 50-60% dry, I add four to eight pumps of this magical foam, focusing on the roots then working my way down the entire length, scrunching along the way, and then I resume diffusing. Excellent results, every time. To refresh, I usually slightly dampen my hair and apply a watered down version of a leave in or curl cream (gel when necessary), hit it with the diffuser and depending on what my hair needs, one or two more pumps of foam, often times, none. I was skeptical about spending almost $30 on one product, especially with my negative experiences with a different higher end brand a few years ago. But I must say, this product is totally worth it for me in regards to quality and how much I use. I get maximum results with little amount of product. I would recommend this product and will most definitely be purchasing it again and again. My curl type for those interested is predominantly 3b with some 3c and 3a mixed in. Normal porosity. I have medium length, 2a hair that's prone to frizziness. My roots can get greasy and the ends of my hair can get dry/develop split ends. I don't spend a lot of time on my hair and I don't like to use a lot of products – I'm looking for something I can put in wet hair to bring out my waves and help my hair air dry nicely. Overall, this product works pretty well for me. It does bring out my waves (albeit not as much as the toxic curl creams I've used in the past) without too much stickiness. It feels lightweight and does add a bit of volume. And, I really like the smell! It's faintly herbally/floral/citrus, without being overpowering. Overall, I'd recommend with the caveat that your expectations shouldn't be the same as traditional curl products from mainstream, prestige (non clean) haircare brands.
I’ve been using clean products for 2.5 years now but finding good hair products that actually work has been a struggle. I have straight/wavy hair so I got this to use as a root volume boost. I have long hair so it usually leaves my roots flat from the weight. I used 2 pumps on my scalp while wet then used a blow dry straightener and I was amazed at the lightness and volume! Aerate 08 All-Over Bodifying Cream-Mousse This is another Redken product I won at work this week lol (seriously this has been an amazing week, I have pretty much left work with a new Redken product prize everyday 😂) I've been using Aerate on clients for quite awhile now and finally after taking this home got to play around a bit on my own hair. I LOVE this stuff for creating a light and airy textured look especially on shorter hair cuts and textured bobs. It's super light and gives just the right amount of definition and piecyness to the hair. It isn't sticky or heavy and doesn't leave your hair feeling hard or like there is really much product in it at all. Think of light and airy textured alot like the name Aerate. The 06 indicates the amount of hold (0 is water and 32 is Redkens highest hold hair spray) so your that indicates it isn't a heavy product at all it's more for texture and won't give a ton of hold but if you're do want some hold you can follow up with some hair spray. A little goes a long way. I usually take a a dime size amount for shorter haired clients, really work the product between your palms forvq few seconds and then work it into your hair all over, I get pretty aggressive with it haha Working it right in there and all through the hair kinda just really getting in there and messing the hair up for a sec lol clients absolutely love this stuff. As far as styling products go I personally sell this probably more than anything else cause it gives just a noticeable result, it's super simple to style with and it isn't heavy. U can reapply to dry hair as often as you'd like if u want a little more body/texture etc. I feel alot of the reviews calling this heavy or hard to work with may not be applying it right. It's super important to just use a little and really work it with your palms . To go even a bit lighter, u can clap your hands together once it's all over your palms and it will fall into your hair like little fibers lol it's super cool looking actually. Cause I use this a ton on fine haired clients and it isn't too heavy at allally.h

This hairspray holds really well. However im not such a big fan of thensent and stickyness i find it leaves. Out of all the more expensive salon quality hair products ive purchased to try i would not purchase it again only ecause i found more preffered sented sweeter smelling hairspray sold in salons and my hair does not require this much hold from hairspray. But if you dont mind the scent and sticky when wet/stiffness when dry i would recommend itkay.w
