Best Multi Use Steam Cleaner (2024 Update)

I bought my Dupray Neat Steamer 2 years ago. It’s become one of my favorite cleaning tools for tackling the tough and weird to clean things like the couch and our big area rug. Since my last cleaning, I had an issue with the cap getting stuck despite proper cleaning and air drying after my last use. I was very happy to work with Nilan in customer service who helped me with my warranty and shipping. One of my favorite things Ive ever bought. Its so easy to use. I absolutely love it. I love that I can use my own cloths on it instead of purchasing the expensive pads. It does come with 3. My only complaints are I wish the hose detached and it would be nice if there was a safety switch so I could lock the trigger so my 2 year old cant mess with it. If I need to take a break I have to shut it off and put it up so he cant get it. Then I have to wait for it to heat back up. Other than that its definitely worth the price.Beth

I've been using this steam cleaner for a while now. I used it to completely clean an apartment that I was moving out of and the landlord was impressed with the cleaning job that we did. The carpet was a little trampled down in the high traffic areas and the stream treatment helped to bring it back to its former fluffy self. I've tested a decent amount of vacuums over the last decade. This is the first one I've tested that was made for hard surfaces and I was excited to get it mostly for my wife who always uses whatever other vacuum on our hard floors almost interchangeably as our carpeted areas. While I normally would sweep hard floors and them vacuum up the pile or let our robot vacuum with mop attachment do all the work for me. Setup was a little overwhelming looking at first but not too bad. The whole thing comes in more pieces than I would normally expect to find but the instructions lay out what everything is pretty nicely and after the initial shock it wasn't too hard to figure it out. I put it all together and let it charge over night (it suggests at least 4-5 hours of charge time before the initial use). I'm pretty happy with the steps required to actually use this vacuum. It's mostly a supplement to our robot vacuum/mop. I'm happy with the robot but we usually go around the are and pick up/move everything off of the floor in the entire upstairs before we run it so it's a process. It does a good job but the setup and reconstruction of the area before running it makes us use it far less than I'd like. So having a vacuum that's made for sweeping and mopping that I can easily setup and break down is key. When you want to use this, just fill up the clean water tank with mostly water and a small cap-full of soap. Then you're ready to go. The first time I hit the power button, I was surprised as it kind of drives itself forward. Pretty nice to lighten the load but you're also fighting against that push when your pull the vacuum back again. Overall it was a nice little assist, I think. The vacuum and mop did a pretty nice job of cleaning the floor pretty quickly but it did require an empty and refill of the tanks before I was finished. That doesn't take too long so it was no big deal. After I was done doing the whole upstairs area, the battery still had about 60% left (I was worried because when I first started it up, it looked like the battery was draining very quickly). The nice thing about having a screen with all the information on it is that you can see at a glance how hard the vacuum is working and what battery level is remaining. After you're done the instructions recommend you clean the dirty and clean water tanks as well as the roller and roller protector after each use. This is the only annoying part since you can't really just grab the vacuum to do a quick job and put it back but the cleanup of these things doesn't take too long. The base station does include an auto-clean feature for the roller so you have that going for you and there were 2 additional rollers included with this vacuum so you can always just rotate them if you need to clean one. Apparently there's an app that goes with this vacuum. The instructions just said that you can "perform all functions from the app" but I don't really know what functions those are. I did not download the app and can't imagine what I would possibly need it for. The functions on the vacuum are very minimal and can be adjusted with just a few pushes of the 3 buttons on the vacuum. I just didn't want another app on my phone. The only weird thing I didn't love about this vacuum was how it sat on the charging station. It leans forward quite a bit for some reason. I would expect it to just sit straight up and down but when the head is locked and you place it on the charger the handle leans forward at what feels like a 30 degree angle. Far more than you'd expect. Enough that I thought I was doing something wrong. I couldn't figure out a better way to place it on the charger though so I'm going to assume it's just how it was designed. I got used to it quickly enough but it was a weird thing when I first saw it. Overall, I like the vacuum. It does a good job supplementing our robot vacuum by being easy to get up and running and being easy to break down and clean when we're done (while not needing to break down the entire upstairs before using it since we can move things while vacuuming). If you're looking for a nice hard surface vacuum/mop and this fits your budget, give it a look. I was impressed with it for the most part.swemoney

I never taught about using a vacmop before i was kind of skeptical and it would take me a while to clean my hardwood floors .. was kind of an event to say. Not anymore… thanks to this Tineco Floor One s5 Extreme i’m actually looking forward to do it now. I will attach some pictures to see what comes in the box and it’s pretty straight forward plug and play kind of situation as well with some before and after situation. Everything is very intuitive to use but you can check the book or type the name of it on youtube and they have an interactive video in how to use it for first time. It comes with 2 extra brushes and an extra filter that will come in handy when you’ll wash and let dry the ones that you’ll be using first(about 24hrs) they recommended doing that after each use and you’ll want to do that and don’t forget to empty the messy water each time so u prevent bad odors. The design and features are very modern … it has a voice and a screen that will assist you in your cleaning process. To be mentioned here is the feature that senses the proportion of a mess when on auto and turns gradually the blue light into a red one, sign that you should insist in that particular area till becomes completely blue and it’s scary accurate!!! The stand acts like a support and charger (which will take somewhere 3-4hrs for it to be fully juiced up). They also recommend using ONLY Tineco cleaning solution or just plain water. I totally underestimated this machine. When I turned it on, the brush kicked in and almost dragged me acoss the floor! Not really, but I was surprised by how powerful the brush was for such a compact package. This mop is no joke. I'm a busy and stressed-out professional, so lots of housekeeping chores don't get done on a regular basis. I've been meaning to clean the kitchen floor for quite a while — I had food and coffee spills, tracked mud, etc, on the floor in places, and serious grossness under the oven and fridge. I figured that I'd give this machine a workout. It really worked. It took several passes in some areas, but the machine just kept working at the mess until it was all clean. The dirty tank strains out the solid materials to make it easy to dump without clogging your sink. It also uses less water than I would expect, so I didn't have to dump the tank nearly as often as I thought I would have to. The clean tank and the dirty tank have good capacity. One super thoughtful little detail is that both tanks have flat bottoms, so they can be put upright on the counter, and you don't have to lean them against anything like you do with other wet vacuums. I really like how it is as maneuverable as a light vacuum, it does a great job on hard floors and we can also use it on floor mats that aren't too thick. That brush-forward design really gets right up to edges and corners. It is very user-friendly. The display is large, bright and useful, and the voice prompts are really helpful. Even self-cleaning is super easy. I'm just not sure what benefits you get from the app or its wifi connection.Snarltoof

This product is great. It puts the Shark steam cleaner to shame. Its very powerful and last quite a long time on just a cup of water. It will give you about 15-20 minutes of continuous usage. However, if you press the trigger sporadically, it can last about 30-45 minutes. The steam blast is loud and packs a punch. I use this thing to clean and sanitize everything from my bathroom to the kitchen (always sanitize the nozzle with bleach or alcohol after use to avoid cross contamination). Another great feature is all the attachments it comes with so you can steam clean almost anything. My only issue is the quality of some of the attachment. The small brushes and scrub pads aren't really reusable. After the first usage, they start to fall apart, especially the scrub pads which are excellent for cleaning your tub and tile. You can buy more attachments online, but its kind expensive costing 10 for 5. One reason I switched to steam cleaning was to save money on cleaning solutions, but if I have to constantly buy the attachments, eventually it will work out to cost more than the cleaning solutions. But I recently used the steamer to clean this very disgusting fridge in the apartment Im renting. I bought this tool to clean 1/2 grout tile floor grout. It worked great for the first 10 minutes, and it would great for the process, except it is not designed properly. I has a special small nozzle head, upon which small brush attachments are placed. There are three pieces, brush, nozzle, and nozzle attachment (to hook to hose or hose extension). The nozzle is made of thermoplastic, like the rest of the unit, except the pressure chamber cap, which is brass. The nozzle needed to be made of brass as well. The thermoplastic heats up, and a threaded piece (with o-ring) when at temperature cannot handle GENTLE scrubbing with the brush. (e.g. for the purpose it is made.) The nozzle fitting jumps the threads every time, once it heats up. So the unit is only good to use for about 10 minutes, before the nozzle gets soft from heat, and falls off constantly. If they made the nozzle out of brass, and the end piece (nozzle attach) out of metal, it would work great. But they didn't, so it is pure frustration to CONSTANTLY put the nozzle on again, and again, and again. This gets 1 star. It works great for 10 minutes, then its useless. If used with the larger attachments, it would probably be a great value; but I need it to clean grout. It says it cleans grout, but it really doesn't.MesaGuy

I've only used the MC1275 once to clean shower floor tile grout using the scrub pad attachment. I filled the steam chamber one time with distilled water, and the steam was ready in approximately 5 minutes. It was easy to control, but did a marginal job restoring the whiteness of the grout. The scrub pad itself came loose and separated completely from its plastic base in under 10 minutes. While the steamer worked as advertised, steaming cleaning the grout didn't live up to my expectations, and the scrub pad's durability was a major disappointment. The good – it produced steam reliably; control is easy to maintain. The bad – the scrub pad is virtually useless for scrubbing applications; steam alone will not magically clean discolored tile grout.beforemytime

I am amazed at how effective this machine is at cleaning up even very old pet stains from carpet and mattress topper. I have two chihuahuas that occasionally barf on the bed or my carpeted bedroom floor, and sometimes they will pee too on the carpeting. I of course blot up as much as possible when this occurs but it was still gross. Not bad enough that it stank to high heaven or anything but the beige carpet looked gross with lots of little spots and definitely needed a freshening. I couldn't believe how immediately this machine removes the pee and barf stains!! Even ones that were really old, even got old bile stains out of a white mattress topper-quickly and easily. Everything looks and smells great now. I really can barely believe it! I happened to get this machine second hand/used from someone's tag sale but I would pay the full price. When I first got the Little Green I used it primarily for cleaning spots on area rugs. It worked well, but always leaked every single time I used it. The suction is pretty weak for a carpet cleaner…I have even done a thorough clean of all the tubes and nozzle to make sure it was 100% clean without any blockage. After not using it for 6 months (and misplacing the water nozzle and suction brush during a move) I replaced both items through the Bissell site. I once again made sure all compartments were clean in the machine before use. Now when I use the machine the dirty water excessively leaks from the bottom (or some area at the bottom of the machine) and the leakage has gotten EXTREMELY worse. I ended up having to place the machine on a heavy duty trash bag on top of a high absorbent mat. When I use the suction, there are LITERAL BUBBLES coming from the bottom of the machine. NOTHING is going into the dirty water tank. Before anyone asks, yes the suction top on the dirty water container is closed and all items are in the proper place. So moral of the story is that instead of having dirty water in the designated tank, it is now pooling in the trash bag. After tonight I will NOT be using this product ever again. Love this mop. Cleans carpets, windows, furniture, just think of what you could possibly clean. Believe it or not this mop with detachable handheld steamer will remove wrinkles before your eyes. BEST PART, it takes regular tap water. Awesome absolutely amazing tool. Comes with attachments. Clean grout, windows, baseboards, even removes paint mishaps from your wood floors, not floor finish. u hust received this item today. I was excited to use it si ive only used this one time so far, on my hardwood floors. It heated up quickly and lasted longer than expected. It was able to get up some spots that regular swiffering or mopping couldnt get. I do not like how short the cord is. I dont have a large house and my stuck vacuum can be plugged in the center of the house and go everywhere. This steam mop have to be plug in two separate outlets, and would've been more if I did the whole house. Also i don't like that the plug can't be clipped on the cord to store. That seems like its just obvious for it to gave that little extra piece. Those are my reviews so far. I'll update if it warrants.Tracy

we moved homes and omg, when I say this, I mean it, but this is my absolute most favorite utility ever. the previous home owners weren't exactly the cleanest and this steam vacuum wasn't gonna take any of that. paint on the floor that even those industrial grade stain removers couldnt peel? no problem. sticky icky gooey set in mess on the counter? no problem. nasty stains in the bathtub? no problem. disgusting window stuff? consider it gone. cabinets dirty and messy? not anymore. this little tool has been phenomenal when it came to cleaning everything around the house, the house legitimately felt like it was brand new after we were done with rhis. btw for anyone wondering, I did all this by using the pressure attachment only on the steam vacuum, nothing else. while steaming the messy spots, I would rub it back and forth with the steam vacuums nozzle itselfShamim

This is not much bigger than dollhouse furniture if you ask me. I bought this months ago and if I had actually taken it out to use it before now, I would have returned it. I had no idea the parts were this small! Good for cleaning very very small spaces! Couldn't handle the laundry area at all. Only good for maybe a sink. Not to mention almost gave my self third degree burns 10 minutes after letting it cool off. The top says 5 minutes. Had I known that you have to hold the handle down to create the steam I would have never bought it. I have had other steam machines and never had to do this. If you have any issues with your hands this machine is not for you, ie arthritis. The extra tank for the water does not come out easily, not sure if it is only my machine or others but it is always a struggle. I just purchased this machine back in April, and I have not be able to buy the replacement filter because every time I check on their website it is sold out. The filter is needed to operate the steam cleaner, which I was not aware of, since it really isn't in the description of the product but in the manual once you receive it.pizella

I bought this steamer believing it was going to be amazing for my wood floors. When I used the steamer, it really didn't pick up dirt, it just spread the dirt around more. I tried to contact customer service several times to inquire about a return. After finding the returns instructions it was going to cost me almost as much as the unit to ship back. I have had this Hoover Steam Complete for about a month now and I love everything about it. This steamer is very light weight so it's easy for me to carry around and and steam clean just about everything in my home. I like using this Hoover Steam Complete to Steam clean the the small edges around my sink it the kitchen, I also used it to get all the gunk off of my stove top, I have also use it to steam clean my windows and wow! I can't believe what a easy and wonderful job it did on my windows! They where so spotless when I was finished! There was also a few spots on my couch that I had tried to get out before with a little soap and water but I just made it look worse, so of course when I used this Hoover Steam Complete on the spots it made my couch look so nice again with no spots! This steamer is wonderful, I have also cleaned some spots on my carpet and use it all the time to steam mop my kitchen floor! I am so happy with my new Hoover Steam Complete and I can't wait to use all of the tools that come with it! This is awesome I get to clean (cleaning is something I love to do) but because of this Hoover Steam Complete I get to clean without having to use heavy chemicals, I get to use the power of water/steam! I loved all the attachments on this steamer. Once I started steaming, I couldn't stop! I used every attachment for different purposes. The microfiber cloth and rectangular attachment worked great on my wood floors! The small nylon brush and steel brush were awesome for grout lines! I would have given a 5 star review; however, I wasn't impressed with the window tool. We have a glass shower and it took a LONG time to clean…and didn't work well. Traditional glass cleaner was much more effective and a LOT easier. I also wish the unit came with more microfiber cloths.SJO

This cleaner does a very good job of cleaning. It heats up quickly and has very good pressure, which is adjustable. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the locking buttons are hard to press to release attachments. I have pinched a finger several times and currently have a blood blister from trying to remove attachments.cat mom

I deep cleaned my entire house with this steam cleaner. It's amazing. It stands by brilliantly without leaking steam while I move things around to clean more. I find that the 700ml lasts a good while before needing to be refilled. The only draw back is that if you must refill you need to let it cool off and depressurize before adding more water. Pros you can use tap water but make sure you maintain per Dupray instructions with vinegar rinse after so many uses. I used every single attachment and I love it but I still need to get the hang of the squeegee. My favorite moment was getting the cracks between my shower surround that I couldn't get with anything else. The pressurized steam blasted out the gunk. It was disturbing and oh so satisfying at the same time. I feel better knowing that I can clean soft surfaces that I can't throw in the laundry, especially for the coming baby. 100% worth the cost, and I'm glad I chose the home over the Neat.Christy R

I bought this two months ago to replace my previous Shark steam mop (a different model), which my daughter "borrowed". I have also had other brands of steam mops in the past. I like that the water tank is removable and can be filled directly from the tap and there is not a little jug which needs to be stored somewhere. I like that it is light and relatively small and hence easy to store and carry. I also like that it stands up by itself. My previous mop had the flip over option and the cloth was like a pocket, with only one side open. Unfortunately it shrank on its first wash and never fitted properly again, often coming off mid-mopping (one of the reasons I did not press y daughter to return it), so I liked that this model's cloth attached differently. The bit I did not anticipate with this model was that whilst the cloths stays on fine when mopping hard floors, I cannot use it to steam clean carpets as the cloths sticks to the carpet in preference to the mop. I wish I had known this before buying this mop. This is the first steam mop I have had where you have to prime the pump to get the steam flowing. This requires you to pump the handle a few times. What the instructions do not say is that you have to continue the pumping action to keep the steam flowing. Now, this happens automatically as you are mopping the floor, but when you stop to move the mop around furniture (which most of us have on our floors) the steam stops and then you have to pump it several times to get it going again. Same issue if you want to hold the mop on a stain to give it a while to soften, steam flow stops. So, overall I would not rush to buy this model again, despite it having some good features.CN263

If you are looking for a small, steam mop that delivers big results, look no further! I decided going in, that this steam mop was going to just be mediocre. But, much to my surprise, cleaned like no one’s business! The little water basin could be a little larger, but it’s not a deal breaker imo. Once plugged in, expect to be ready to mop away in about 20-30 seconds. Yes, for once a product literally gives an accurate description. I use a spray bottle with 1-3 ratio of vinegar water and spray as I mop to give a little extra disinfectant. By the end of my clean, my washable reusable mop pad is filthy with yuck. The mop was super quick and easy to set up and the longer cable meant getting around large floors wasn’t such a task after all, I was reluctant to buy in favour of a cordless but couldn’t find one, I guess for electrical safety reasons these cannot be cordless. Plenty of steam, remember to do the pump action if you experience low steam with it. It takes me moments to go around and do all of our floors here, and the mop came with two pads so I’m not without if the other one hasn’t gone in with the mucky wash yet. The pad head itself twists around in movement so I can easily manoeuvre it down the sides of the toilet and any other skinny gap floor areas that fit. The price was competitive in the sale, and for something as good as this I would go as far as saying overall my purchase is outstanding. Highly recommend!Rachel

I have two long haired cats. In my kitchen near the stove I had a lot grease buildup from cooking. Lately I stated to notice my cats hair was shredding and the loose hair was now getting in the grease. I ordererorderer the H20 Mop because I really needed some help. This product took just minutes to put together. The water heats up even quicker and it really did the job. The steam loosens up the grease and the hair, and with one wipe it came off. I can't wait to tackle my bathroom. But this saved me a lot embarassment since my family is coming over for the holidays. No one would have wanted to cook in my kitchen before. It takes less than a minute to warm up. The heat is hot enough to melt away candle wax and nail polish on hardwood floors. It is a little hard, however, to clean vehicle seats with but that's what a detailer is used for! I recommend it. I use it for my tub, my floors and my rugs. I am amazed at everything I can clean with the Black & Decker 8 piece Complete Steam Cleaning System. Amazed at how steam can clean! I thought mopping my floors thoroughly cleaned them & the grout lines, nope! Steaming them using the grout tool, & the complete steam steam system, I couldn’t believe the dirt it brought out. Using this is so easy, snap on the grout brush, filling water, plug in & turn it on. Reading which settings is my Only complaint, the manual is printed a little small. From grout to steaming the floor after to finish is simple, power off. Take off grout brush and snap on the mop. It really doesn’t get easier! I found using this also so comforting, the sound of the steam, how smooth and easy the mop glides on my floor. So much better then mopping! My glass shower doors look amazing using the squeegee. This is my 2nd steam product ive used in my home. I have a larger steam mop that works great. I was a bit skeptical at first since this one is smaller compared to its cousin. The different connections is very smart to include because we have used this in our showers and walls in the bathroom to help speed up the process to cleaning. When i used the steam mop i used half water and half pinesol and havent had a issue with the compartment getting damaged. I took before and after shots and youll be surprised as to how a regular mop doesnt do the job. You may smell clean but the steam mop shows how it truly gets the job done. So many uses. This steam mop system comes with everything needed to steam clean almost everything in my house. It takes under a minute to heat up and be ready to use. The water reservoir is very easy to fill. The pads are washable so I don't have to spend money on disposable pads. I normally use a spray mop with cleaner on my floors. It works fine but I wanted something to really get the floors clean without the use of cleaners or chemicals. That is where this mop comes in. It steam cleaned my tile floors as well as hardwood floors so well. My hardwood floors never looked that clean with a regular spray mop. Everything looks so clean and the pad was black so I know it really cleaned well. This is a really great steam mop system. I can't wait to find more places to use it.Bx04

We frequently have six grand children running around are house. They mainly stay in the living room where Nana let's them eat snacks! The carpet had noticably dingy traffic areas, spills, and various snack crumbs smashed into the carpet around the coffee table area. As a former professional carpet cleaner of five + years, I am amazed at how well this smart wash carpet cleaner cleaned our carpet! The living room is approximately 13' x 20' and used 2 gallons of hot water with mixed detergent to clean. The traffic areas and spills took multiple passes as expected. 1 gallon of water without detergent was used to rinse the carpet and extract any remaining detergent from the carpet. Rinsing is an important step because detergent is designed to attract dirt and if not rinsed properly, will attract more dirt to the carpet. I was sceptical at first and thought at best the carpet would look "better". However, the hoover smart wash outperformed my expectations and the carpet actually looks clean! I've owned this machine for little over two years now and overall it's been great but there was one issue I had about six months into owning it with the dry only button and I was frustrated but Hoover was awesome about it and sent me a box and return label so they could see the problem and fix it. Not only did they send me a brand new machine, they also sent me my old one fixed and restored! This machine does an amazing job and it's much lighter to push than the older previous models. It takes a little bit getting used to it at first since it operates differently than older models. Once you get used to it, it's easy. One complaint I have is it's a pain having to remove the small cleaning solution container and setting it aside for rinsing with water only. (Note: be sure to place it upside down or it will leak cleaning solution all over the floor) Not a deal breaker but I hope with future models there can be a switch to use clean water only for rinsing. One thing I will stress that helps is to clean out the machine good after every cleaning! With this model it is easy to remove the brushes and the plastic covering them. This particular model has a "dry only" function which did not work on the first unit ordered. It has a circuit board which is either susceptible to damage or manufacturer defect. After going through the gamut of trial and error with customer service, they sent a replacement free of charge.

Here are a few things I've found over the past year of using the unit maybe 10 or 12 times.

The good first.

I like the dry only feature so that way one can use it as a dry vacuum or go over the freshly cleaned carpet to one's heart's content.

It seems pretty light and maneuverable to me and the three agitator brushes do a pretty good job agitating the carpet pile.

Yep, that's about it.

The not so good.

First and foremost there is no way to rinse the cleaning solution mixture from the carpet leaving it behind to dry and attract and hold on to dirt and grime. I used it on a white shag and the tips of the pile turned brown as it dried so I went through the whole process again only this time adding a clean water rinsing step and used my shop vac to remove the rinse water.

Why would I use the Shop-Vac to remove the water you might ask? Because these units do not have enough suction to do the job.

The cleaning solution container does not seal well when removing it from the unit so it tends to get messy and somewhere along the pathway in the unit seems to leak eventually.

The dry only function seems to be malfunctioning or it could be the leaky cleaning solution.

There are a lot of little nooks and crannies to clean after every use if you want to keep it operating as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Ultimately, in my humble opinion, they need to scrap this design and go back to the drawing board. If you remove the cleaning solution container it will make a decent but very expensive vacuum.Andrew

Ok, so I see the reviews and I can say I personally have owned 1 of the Bissell Revolutions 2x whatever cleaning power and I was satisfied (extremely satisfied as it still runs). I have a black lab and a long haired cat and I live in the country. We have absolutely no concrete or asphalt surrounding our house, and live by the coast so our dirt is probably about 30-40% sand, so tracking mud and sand is frequent in our home. I still have the Bissell (no complaints there), however I clean mine everytime after I use it and vacuume very very thoroughly before I shampoo with my shark navigator (that I am also very very happy with). The thing with all carpet cleaners is the way you treat them. You can't just vacuume once briefly then expect the shampooer to not pick up hair clumps. Do this: vacuume the area until you think u did good, then empty the vacuume and do it again. If you pick up no hair, use the shampooer. If you keep vacuuming up hair, then keep vacuuming until you basically aren't picking up hair, then you will not have issues with your shampooer. I just got the Hoover Powerdash (I got a super good deal for $20 from a garage sale brand new in box never used so I figured why not, my Bissell isn't a pet model so this will be good to try) and am writng this review in response to all the negative recent reviewers I see just because they are having so many of the same issues with clumped hair and leaks.. First off, don't leave your shampooer with dirty water, and it won't leak. Also, don't leave solution in it or simply store the resiviour separately so you won't have leaks either. These machines mainly use gravity to apply solution, possibly with the assist of a small pump like device that might be powered by the belt rotation to feed water (which is great, never have to replace an actual pump) so if you leave solution or dirty water stored in the resiviors, your bound for issues. It's all common sense, if you expect to just leisurely vacuume and have your shampooer do all the rest, then hire a pro. If your willing to take the correct steps in maintaining and shampooing your carpets to remove grime, these are for you.
One lady stated she's owned 12 of the exact 1 that I own (which is I'm assuming for a business or a friggin mansion) so not sure what she's doing wrong but I guarantee the problem is operator error. Especially if she's having the same issues with the same shampooer that I have never seen, unless of course she's overusing them when she shoulda got a commercial cleaner for whatever she needs 12 of these things. I use mine about 15-20 times per year for the past 2 or 3 years and don't have issues. This is for residential use, if taken care of they will last. One last thing, clean your shampooer directly after use, I take mine out front and rinse it on our gravel driveway, being careful to only lightly spray the nozzle and brush assembly, keeping water away from the motor. This will ensure a clean start next session, and is a hell of a lot easier than cleaning clumped up dirt and hair that's caked up and dried solid before u even get to shampooing and even better for the machine instead of just flat out not cleaning at all and burning out the motor due to naglagence and poor maintenance. Use your head people, these are designed to clean what dry vacumes can't, not vacume up hair and remove grime at once. You need to remove a majority of the hair and then these come in and remove everything else just fine. Plain and simple.
Tip: make your own solution using a mixture of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, laundry detergent or dish soap and whatever essential oil fragrance you like (orange or grapefruit recommended). Search online for the correct amounts of ingredients for your needsTyler D

this cleans pretty well. Much better than my big Spin Scrub Hoover. This tiny little thing has the right kind of brushroll to pick up the carpet fibers and sweep off the dirt. It has good suction. Traffic areas get matted or compressed so they need the brushroll. What makes it a problem, is that the dirty water reservoir has very limited capacity so it only cleans about a 3×3 foot area before it is too full. That is, in a high traffic area. It might clean a slightly larger area if you are only lightly cleaning invisible dirt. I think the mechanism senses SUDS and freaks out and quits suctioning, and it also let a large amount of sudsy water leak out on my hardwood floor next to my carpet, without warning. If it's not very sudsy, it won't leak so bad, just a little, when full. so i had to empty this dirty water tank 3x on a 2.5x 8 foot hall carpet with low pile. . Not cool. Definitely ONLY for small areas as i said above. I was attracted to the bigger more expensive ones of this style that have 2 brush rolls and much larger capacity, and wider cleaning path. I will probably have to get one of those, as this one won't work well for a regular sized room, even just the traffic areas.lexy

Initially bought to clean carpet from when my pup was sick and tried to hide downstairs in the only part with carpet when she wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, that liquid sat into the carpet without knowing for a while. This carpet cleaner took care of that and then some ! I LOVE the feature that it has heat to help dry the carpet so you can basically walk onto it right after. I’ve had my basement get water in it after a storm and I was able to also use this to suck up all the water out of the carpet. It saved us from having to replace the baseboards/carpet. I understand it is compact so it’s not really meant to clean your entire house of carpet. The bin gets full quickly with the dirty fluids. The unit isn’t heavy like a commercial use which could be an issue if you have thick/deep carpet. It’s easily disassembled for cleaning of hair in the brush. I did notice when sucking up water from the thick carpets constantly to save us from flooding it was almost as if I could start to smell the belt running hot. In that case I tried my best to wait longer between vacuuming. I’d recommend this to anyone. 4.5 stars only for unit capacity is slightly not enough for my liking.kelsey.k

The LittleGreen ProHeat deep cleaner was recommended to me by my mom for getting those little messes out of carpets and rugs. I got mine in March of this year and it was doing its job, other than a brush popping off the end of one of the hose attachments (an easy enough fix with some glue). I was happily using the machine about once a week just to touch up around the house, with the occasional bigger spot that needed a couple of tries to come all the way clean. Then, about three weeks ago, I was a little confused about why the dirty water tank didn't seem to be getting fuller. On closer inspection, I found that the hose had developed a sizable hole in one of the creases. The machine is outside of Target's return period and Bissell customer service has been completely unresponsive. For an item I got just a few months ago that is being used regularly, but not heavily, this is an unfortunate turn from being a product I liked to one that I simply cannot recommend.Lane

I purchased online & hoped to do curbside pickup. My local store didn’t have it on hand but shipping looked like it would only take a day or two so I opted to have it shipped. We’ll about 4 hours later (maybe less) it was delivered to my front door. I absolutely couldn’t believe it. What amazing service. My first trial run of the unit was on a bench. I very briefly pre-treated the surface. Then I followed the instructions to spray while scrubbing. I didn’t put a lot of time or huge effort into it. The results are really great and I’m sure they would be even better if I let the pre-treatment soak for longer than 2 minutes. After I cleaned my bench, I could not believe how filthy the water that I suctioned from the bench was. I will be using and loving this little machine a lot!!! It was really easy to assemble and get started. I think I’ll get better at judging how to pre-treat stains and how to scrub. But for a first try using it & doing with almost no effort. I’m ashamed at how filthy my bench was and glad I have something like this on hand to clean with.kcgCLT

I Would Return This If I Could. I Started Out Good, Cleaning My Car Seat, A Spill On My Couch Etc. It Works Ok, But What I Did Not Expect Was That I Needed To Push A Lot Harder Than Expected. This Is Not A Machine That Does The Work For You. You Do All The Work, And The Handles Feel Really Flimsy. The Hose Is Also Made Of Hard Plastic. There Is No Wiggle To It. The Hose Is Also Incredibly Short, Which I Had Read But Wanted To See If It Was A Big Deal. It Is. It Also Leaks From The Bottom, So If One Is To Use This In The Car, You Either Put It In The Car, With Something Underneath, Or You Put It On A Stool Or Something Near You. Because The Hose Is Short, Both Of These Are Risky, Meaning The Bissell Could Fall Over, Get Knocked Off Etc. Not Fun When You're Trying To Clean Something And it's Already Taking Alot Of Work. So Many Negatives, I Would Not Purchase Again. The Hard Plastic Hose Tore, And I Have Only Used This Bissell A Handful Of Times. Maybe 5, And For Mostly Small Things. Not Fun. My home has mainly hardwood and tile, but the bedrooms are carpet. I wasn’t really in the market for a huge machine, so I went with this one. I’ve done two bedrooms and so far, generally pleased. Pros—lightweight, easy to assemble and maneuver, easy to use. It has done a pretty decent job of removing general dirt that accumulates over time in my carpets. The carpets have also dried quickly for me. I just turned on the ceiling fan after and they were completely dried overnight. Cons—clean water tank is small, so you have to stop multiple times to empty and refill. My standard size guest room took 3 refills; however I considered the size when I bought and knew that was probably going to happen. I also have a problem with the soap suds bubbling through the vent on the top of the dirty water tank. I’m not really sure why it does this. It doesn’t really cause a problem; it’s just weird. The dirty water tank also is designed in a way that makes it hard to clean the inside and get all the water out. Overall, it’s still a solid, compact little machine for the price. As for the complaints about cleaning the brushes, I would make sure that you vacuum you vacuum your home thoroughly before you clean, especially if you have pets. I have had no issue with the brushes.krystlerb

I bought this product in May 2021; its performance was as I had hoped until August 2021 when it starts making a loud high pitched sound when power it off. Immediately, I think it's a belt, so I go online and look up parts and support on Hoover.com. After searching exhaustively and not finding a way to troubleshoot this, I emailed Hoover support and they replied back with only one option, a replacement; who can argue with that? I did as asked and sent screenshots of the machine model # and manufacturer's code as well as a photo of the cord cut off from the broken machine. I was instructed to wait for the replacement to arrive and discard of the broken machine at that time. When the replacement was in, I completely disassembled the broken machine with hopes of finding a way to repair the new one in the event it stops working. I was appalled by what I found- of the dozens of screws used to hold this machine together most were rusted. I get it, it's a carpet shampooer which means water is involved so rusted screws will happen, BUT, 3 months from purchase, I don't think that's okay. Also, the motor was rusting and there was a white gasket or belt that was obviously not fitted properly, because it looked stretched and melted to the motor. So the replacement was as expected, it worked fine until this morning when it started making that high pitched noise just like the one I purchased in May of this year. It's Oct 2021, 3 months ago it was replaced. In 6 months I have lost faith in the Hoover quality I was accustomed too. I grew up using only Hoover products to clean our floors. My dad said "Hoover never breaks." The proof was there as we used our personal Hoover machine to clean the floors of our church twice a week plus our home at least twice a week. I do not ever remember mechanical issues or replacements of those machines. The two machines I have used recently, are only used to clean the carpet in the living room of a one bedroom apartment. Both machines were treated with kid gloves by cleaning all detachable pieces on every use. I'm not sure how this will be resolved so I will gladly edit this review to include a resolution to my satisfaction when this matter is resolved. Such a disappointment.David

I spent hours reading reviews of different steam cleaners on multiple sites. I chose this Hoover knowing there were two risks based on those reviews. One, the machine would leak from the bottom. Two, it would stop working after only a few uses. I had hopes that neither of these would be the case because the good comments far exceeded the negative ones. But within 15 minutes of using the machine it began leaking profusely from the bottom. Called Hoover who confirmed it is an internal mechanical issue and could not be fixed. It does have a warranty so I can get a replacement but what confidence is there that this problem won't recur with the new one?? So frustrated. I am moving in three-weeks and need to clean the carpets for the next person – the warranty process would take past that amount of time. So now, I have to either go spend money on renting one or just get a completely different machine. Waste of time and money. I do not recommend this product, the negative reviews are accurate.Laura

This little steamer produces a large amount of steam for the whole time that it is activated. The most useful attachment so far has been the nozzle. I used the unit to sanitize an entire mattress and box spring. I am satisfied that it was hot enough to kill all the mites and small spiders we were seeing when changing bedding. I used a small brush attachment on a few stains after I had applied some all purpose cleaner and it lifted the stains with only light brushing. I am sure I will find many more uses around the house and RV when cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and fabrics. I blasted the wire oven racksSwampy
