In the instructions of how to use this oil, it says to work it though hair after a blowout. Very often, I blow out my hair with the Dyson Airwrap round brush and self-grip rollers. Self-grip rollers have a tendency to pull at the hair and break off small strands. I definitely think this oil is great at smoothing those strands after the blow out. You don’t even have to use a full pump for the oil to do that job. With either 1 full pump or less, the oil smooths the hair without ruining the blow out or making it greasy. My hair gets greasy QUICKLY after washing, so I really enjoy that I can use this oil for blow outs & it doesn’t affect the time in which my hair usually starts getting greasy. Also in the instructions, it says you can use this oil in your hair before washing. I’ve done this a handful of times now. I find the oil dries down in a fair amount of time, so I like that I can douse my hair with multiple pumps, put it in a pony tail, and after about an hour, it looks normal enough to do do things that I don’t have to look really impressive for (ex: errands). However, I notice when I completely oiling my hair up with this, it’s rather drying in comparison to other oils. For instance, I also use the Shea Moisture 100% Argan Oil, which is much cheaper, and it gives my hair that smooth oily feel that I aim for prior to washing. With this oil, I find that myself going back and re-oiling my hair due to the dry feeling. Again, I’ve only used it as a prewash a handful of times, so I have NOT noticed yet that the dryness is a lasting affect after I wash. I haven’t tried this yet on wet hair. Overall, it’s great for blow outs since a small pump goes far and it is light weight. When using larger amounts, I notice the hair feels more than dry than oily, and I worry this will eventually affect the dryness of my hair. I feel that I can find a cheaper oil to smooth my hair after blowing it out.PastaPrincess69
This was so extremely disappointing, I even tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and used up the entire thing before giving my review. I honestly love so many Ouai hair products, their detox shampoo and scalp scrub are some of my absolute favorites! Unfortunately this was such a dud, I honestly cannot believe how many positive reviews this has received. First thing, the smell is atrocious. I like nice smelling products, and even if its unscented or a mild scent I usually don't mind but THIS! I could not get over the scent, its a very woody/herb/patchouli scent and its STRONG. Next issue I had with this is that it didn't really hydrate my hair, if anything it felt more dry after, it didn't really absorb and just sat on the hair looking wet/oily. Some hair oils I love for example are the Olaplex and Gisou hair oils!hailey.p

I bought this about a month ago and I am loving this hair oil. The packaging is cute and professional. The colors are suitable to the scent. It smells like passionfruit, very sweet. The smell does not linger in your hair. Its fairly thick and a little goes a long way. Too much will make your hair greasy, so use sparingly. Great for its price point. Haven't been using it long enough to see any meaningful results.
This oil just sits on my 4b/4c hair. Twice, I have put it on my hair before bed and used a brush to help distribute it. I wrapped my hair and well into the next day, I can touch my head/hair and my entire hand gets covered in oil. I'm really disappointed at how poorly my hair absorbs this oil. I was excited about the ingredients including Coconut, olive, and castor oil. I figured since these ingredients were listed first, this oil should be great. Unfortunately, despite my hair absorbing those oils well when they're applied alone, I do not get the same experience from this bottle of GroHair Oil. Perhaps the lesser oils like soybean oil and sunflower oil are the culprits here. Not sure but looks like I should probably just use 100% coconut oil going forward until I find an o blend that actually gets absorbed into my hair. Also, this oil doesn't have much of a fragrance. So I see no benefit in using it at all. There are better oils for the price.

This oil has saved my dead ends, it makes my hair so soft, smell so good and has a beautiful shine. It's really helped revive my damaged hair. Growing up I was always taught to use drug store shampoo conditioner, I had never used anything different or tried any hair oils or masks and where I live we have hard water and it's really taken a toll on my hair over the years. I have super straight, super fine, super blonde, color treated hair. Most of my life I’ve had very short cuts (pixies and the like) because I never learned how to manage long hair – I was also a teen in the 90s when V05 hot oil was about as good as hair care products got. For my hair texture that just wasn’t ok because it weighed me down and made me look like an utter greasy mess. The past few years I’ve been growing it out just to see how it goes in the modern era with modern hair care products (I feel like some time-traveling Victorian) and was borderline ready to chop it because I still couldn’t figure out how to not make it look like a crazy wild mane of flyaways and snarlballs right about when Covid hit. So I had to suck it up and figure something out. I gave this a try after reading reviews and I’m SO glad I did. My hair looks shiny and glossy and full without even a hint of grease and all of the flyaways are tamed. It’s like photoshop for your hair. And oh MY is it soft! There’s no gooey, sticky residue (I even like how moisturizing it is on my hands afterwards), and I use a pump all over when wet, and another half pump on my ends when dry. Also, I have to mention the scent. I have a hard time with heavy smells, especially on my head since I work out daily which means scents get hyper-activated with sweat. I was worried that the scent would be too much, but it’s light and really clean. I used to use Lush R&B on my ends during the winter which I loved the smell of (it’s too heavy to use year round) but I actually like the smell of this even better. I bought this because a hair oil I used for years stopped being sold, and I used to love Moroccan oil in high school. I have very long hair (it's at the small of my back and I'm 5'7"). It's kind of a light-brown/dark-blonde with a hint of red, moderately dense, but the individual hairs are mostly fine and prone to both dry ends and oily mid-lengths. I always use a curl cream and a hair oil to bring out my waves and keep it soft. My last oil treatment had water as the first ingredient and my hair absolutely loved it. What I liked: A little goes a very long way. Tipping the bottle quickly to coat my fingertip was enough for my wet hair (plus a bit less on the ends when dry). It smells amazing, definitely lived up to my memory of that dreamy Moroccan oil smell. As soon as I applied it, my hair felt wonderfully silky and easy to run my fingers through. After I let it air dry as usual, my mid-lengths were very soft, and even the dead ends felt a little nicer to touch (I really needed a haircut when I tried it). The shine is absolutely incredible! It was glossy all the way to the ends, and didn't make my mid-lengths stringy/oily looking (I use Sebastian dark oil now, and need to be a lot more careful with how much I apply or it gets stringy). I got so many compliments on how shiny my hair was the next day. What I didn't like: The first use was amazing, but after i used it for a couple weeks my hair started to feel heavy and hung straighter. It was still shiny, but looked less full and the ends were getting more dry over time. Ultimately, I think having silicone as a first ingredient makes hair oils too heavy for me (though I've yet to find another with water first). I consider this to be more like "hair makeup". If I was going to an event I would 100% use again for the amazing glossy look and intoxicating smell. I used this after washing my hair to moisturize my hair and my scalp was so flaky, itchy, and red in some spots..There was a build up on my scalp like no other. I have oils at home, that to be honest I have forgotten to use recently! Having visited my hairdresser recently this was used on my hair for the first time. I have thick, curly, coarse and frizzy hair. To blow dry it it can be a workout for the arms..and there is no way I can get it as smooth as they can! My hair is naturally ringlet-curly, but the ringlets were always noticeably frizzy. Over the decades I’ve tried oils, creams, mousse, gels, lotions, & potions to try and tame them. I gave up & would blowout my ringlets then straighten my hair, then slather with product. It worked for a while. Enter Covid Hair Loss!! I got this in a Voxbox about a month ago along with the 100% virgin coconut oil shampoo and conditioner. I really wasn’t impressed by the shampoo and conditioner and I think I liked this more, but not much more. I really tried man. I gave it a month! The only times I ever really liked this was when I mixed it with other products. I tend to “cocktail” products and even when I added this into my “cocktails” I really couldn’t see any difference. I also tried using it by itself and that did leave my hair shinier than if I hadn’t used anything and it helped my frizz (I get really frizzy hair) but I still needed a detangler or leave in conditioner and another product to get my hair all soft and silky and shiny the way I like. Unlike the shampoo and conditioner, I am going to keep this in my after shower mix as I like the shine I got. I just wasn’t…. wowed. I guess I have enough products already that do the same thing and more so there isn’t anything that would make me want to buy this after I use it up.little.l
This is a first impression review of this product. I just received my vox box and was super excited to try this line because I never have before and see it all over the YouTube community. This serum is very heavy: feels and smells just like pure coconut oil. My hair is very dry but it’s also a little bit on the thinner side (when compared to most curly hair) so it left my hair feeling a little weighed down. For reference I have 2b curls, more 2c on the bottom, and used it on second day hair that was previously diffused. Also, there was a definite user error made because I saw the top of the bottle and thought it would come out as a spritz and sprayed it directly onto my hair. It comes out in a line if you will, so definitely spray into your hands first. I think if your hair is a little bit coarser than mine this would work well, or else I would use it as more of a treatment than finishing serum.amanda.j
Hair type: Fine strands, Medium Density History: Colored and Heat Damage Four stars! I tried this out for a week before writing a review. Keep in mind I rated this product according to my own experience. This is not a terrible product. It helped me tame fly aways. However, I was not impressed. It made my hair feel and look wet and flat if I used even a full spray. When I use this for my hair I have to blot some of the spray off of my hands, rub the spray over the fronts and backs of my hands, and flick my hands through my hair sparsely. It’s too easy to overuse this product on my hair type. I would market this for Medium-Course hair types. I definitely don’t think it has the same level of moisture and hydration and the shampoo and conditioner. They should develop a “Light Moisture” and a “Deep Moisture” line. i never write reviews for anything but holy cow this quite literally saved my hair. for reference i have a mix of 2b, 2c, and 3a hair due to years of coloring and heat damage. i have quite a bit of hair and it's thick, low porosity, and protein sensitive. no matter what "hydrating" products i've used my hair has always felt dry and never absorbed anything i put in it. i got my colored red hair retouched recently and not quite sure what my stylist used to treat my hair this time around but it came out sooo dry and brittle. after some research and finding out more about my hair type i decided to try this plus the conditioner that goes with it. and wow is all i have to say. i've never had hair this soft straight out the shower and it's so easy to comb through now. curls i thought were lost forever returned. i'm also noticing less hair fallout probably from my hair not being so tangled anymore. this shampoo cleanses really well without stripping my hair and it just overall transformed the look and feel of my hair. 10/10 recommend if you have a similar hair typepia
This SheaMoisture High Porosity Moisture Replenish Shampoo is GREAT. I really like the scent and how clean my hair is after use. It is not watered down nor is it very thin, it comes out smoothly and I only need a small amount to thoroughly clean my hair. I like the way my hair feels afterwards and the very nice smell. I use SheaMoisture products and this too shall be added to my normal hair care routine and will replace my current shampoo. I have 3c 4a hair and I usually put in my hair in some protective method – twisting or braiding. The curl conditioning oil and cream has been a god sent. As someone who is really sensitive to products and usually breaks out on my forehead after twisting my hair and has allergies from the perfume found in products, I haven’t had ANY allergies or breakouts since using this product! I love love love this product. I was suffering from dry damaged hair and nothing seemed to work for me to give me that soft healthy looking hair. I wasn't using any gel but my hair felt very crunchy and dry which led to breakage all the time. After doing the curlsmith quiz, I realized I have low porosity, coarse and protein sensitive hair, and I got the moisture recipe line recommended for my hair concern. So I bought this oil-in-cream together with the Styling Soufflé and I have been using them over a month now and I must say I cannot and will not use anything else. Before using this product I would have to use 2/3 products after I wash my hair, and then use a thick cream throughout the week to keep moisture in. But with this, I can finally just use 1 product!!!! That’s a major achievement for me. I use this after I use the Curlsmith co wash, and my hair stays moisturised throughout the week. The only thing I need is to spritz some of the reactivater spray in the mornings and I’m good to go. The product is thick so you don’t need a large amount, and a little goes a long way. I can literally see my hair drinking this up and see the change in my hair after every use. Absolute game changer! I am doing a Curlsmith challenge this year, where I only use Curlsmith brands. I like them. They are lightweight but my hair is dry the next day after using either of both oils. I have several pattern products to see which one works for my hair best. I have washed my hair with the hydrating shampoo, applied the leave in conditioner, added the heavy condition and roller set my hair, sat under the hair dryer for 30 minutes and achieved a very soft loose curl set that lasted four days. My hair was very soft, fluffy and not dry at all. That combination is what made me purchase the rest of your products. I have not mastered the wash and go look I want yet because the curl gel, the style cream and the leave-in conditioner all shrink my hair down to half the length it normally is. It looks good, it has a tight zig-zag pattern. I would like it to be less tight. I do have a short haircut and would like my hair to feel lighter. I am in the process of checking the porosity of my hair. I am also 72 and my gray has started to come in (salt and pepper fashion, natural brown and gray. Still trying to master the wash and go. I love this product, the smell is divine as I like anything with lavender in it. Most oils can leave your hair quite greasy but I don’t find i get this at all with this product. You can use this oil for your scalp so for me I don’t really use anything else except this miracle can do it all moisturizing product for my relaxed hair. The Tracy Ellis Ross Pattern Jojoba Oil caught my eyes 👀 on TJMaxx shelf. I had planned to order it online but since I happened to be in the store I went on and bought it. A good way to try out the product immediately before me ordering more products to try out. I bought my first Pattern product a couple of weeks and have used it pretty much every day or every other day. Juicy and Joyful yes and noticed it in the mirror and when outside in the sun. Very oily. I went to the spa and when I got up there was a back of the head oily stain on the paper. That didn’t stop me from ordering a few products online to try out in which as of this review waiting on delivery. I couldn’t rave any more about this product. This hair oil is absolutely amazing!! I was a bit skeptical of purchasing because the ingredients show that there’s silicones in the product. I did more research on silicones in hair products and turns out they’re a curly haired girls best friend!! ( It can irritate those who have sensitive scalps so I would still start slowly ) Silicones are occlusive, meaning that they don’t actually moisturize they just sit on top of the hair. This is useful for locking in moisture because it does not allow any moisture out nor allow any moisture into the hair, thus making it great for humid or dry environments. The silicones in this product are the type that are easy to wash out. This oil also has avocado oil which we all know is great for hydrating the hair. I use this oil after using a leave in conditioner to seal in the conditioner and it’s worked wonders!! I use far less products daily because this oil truly helps to lock in the moisturesyena.k
I love almost all things Aussie Moist. The conditioners are my go-to. I got this oil because I thought it would add shine to my hair. I have dark-muddy-brown 4C afro-natural hair that I twist into curly styles. Even when my hair is moisturized, it doesn't always *look* like it is. This oil did add some sheen but that is not the main reason I buy it all the time now. It does something magical for my twist-out curls. I use it to seal my hair after washing & on damp hair to twist in curls. They hold shape and last longer. Also, I can tame them back from frizzing by applying a little more of this oil between stylings. This stuff is amazing. And, even though my hair doesn't shine like crazy, it does have a nice sheen and it stays highly moisturized. The other benefit is that this doesn't weigh down my hair and I get a lot of "bounce" and body. I can't say that this will work for ALL 4C hair curls, but it's one of my forever-will-be products. (By the way, this is the one that works best, best, best for me but I have, in a pinch used the coconut one)Free
I struggle with dry hair and have always gone back to the Aussie moist line time and time again, no matter how many hair products I try. However I suffer with dry ends still, even though I use a leave in as well. I recently decided to go outside of my simple hair routine and add this hair oil into my wash routine. After I wash and condition my hair and add leave in, I apply one pump of this Aussie hair oil to the ends of my wet hair and braid as usual. The has been a game changer. I received this product in exchange for a fair and honest review. I received it in conjunction with the scalp oil and have been using both together for a couple of weeks to truly assess the effectiveness how both products. Thankfully this product is not leaving my hair greasy as a lot of other oils do. I have been cautious to only really apply to the ends of my hair and not the scalp so it does not weigh my already limp hair down. My hair is very shiny and looks very especially at this point where the air dries out and my scalp gets itchy and I feel like my hair suffers the effect. I have tried many hair oils over the years and this is definitely my favorite. It helps keep the frizz down. It makes my hair feel incredibly silky. The smell is amazing. Not to oily or filmy. A little goes a long way, otherwise your hair will be weighed down and greasy looking, especially for me because I have fine wavy hair. I normally just put it in my hair damp and let it air dry. My waves are defined, so soft and the frizz is gone. When I diffuse, I use this and the Aussie refresher spray gel for curls and it’s even better. I could about give this oil 5 stars on how great it smells. It's such a relaxing thing to just breathe it in when I'm putting it on my hair. I've tried it on both damp towel dried hair and on dry hair and I feel for my naturally wavy hair that it does so much better when it's damp and I let it continue to dry completely after applying it generously to the ends. I like that it really makes my waves have more texture, even a beachy look. I noticed that after applying it was way more soft than it usually is and has been which I love. It's not so tangled after I apply it and its super easy to comb thru my hair. It also manages and controls my frizz and flyaways and that makes it worth it to me, using it to tackle several purposes. Knocking off a point for the horribly designed bottle. Lol. Once you get down to half way it’s nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get out lol. I have been trying several different products for my girls cornrows/braids and between this AND the Cantù Sheen spray, I’ve found something that WORKS! I leave their braids in for 3 weeks and it doesn’t leave a nasty residue after the 3 weeks AND their braids/extensions were actually easier and more manageable to take out.2princesses
I wanted to like this product 🥺. But unfortunately I don't. It feels good to the scalp and smells good to my nose. But I can't get it out of the bottle! I'm annoyed. It's clumpy and NOT oily as I thought it would be. I bought it to grease my scalp because I have new braids in but gosh I hate this stuff. I have squeezed and pushed and nothing's coming out. The only way I can get it out is if I stick my finger down the tub because the nozzle is useless. The product is way too thick. I'm disappointed 😞 Anyone have tips on how to get it out?charel.g
I’m a 4a and Natural for 20 years. My hair loves Petroleum based oil products. My mini braids/twists always come out great. No residue or itch and my curl patterns pops. No problems washing my hair or using gel. I agree with the reviews that mention the design. I have to take the top off to get the product out. But this last mini braids set took me 7 hours and I figured out I could just stick my finger into the bottle neck and get enough to apply to a section of hair. But I’ll need to find something else to put it in. Overall I will be buying this again , hopefully in better packaging.MsRox

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I don't know why you changed your formula, but you need to go back! This oil is too light and does not give my hair the moisture it was getting with your old product, 'Conditioning Spray Oil with Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Keratin, Conditions Hair & Scalp'. With your old formula, I had finally found a product that worked on my hair, since another brand's product I was using was discontinued. Now I have to start looking for something else, again.
