I had been using Head and Shoulders and other various dandruff shampoo brands for my dandruff for years and never really found anything that helped much. I tried scalp scrubs, masks, rinses, treatments, etc and tons of home remedies and never found anything very effective. Until I saw a dermatologist on TikTok mention that dandruff is actually caused by a FUNGUS on your scalp 🤢 So gross. Anyway, he suggested trying something with ketoconazole in it and I ran out to Target to try this right away and it was worth every penny of the $14.99 or whatever it was that I paid. 10/10 if you have dandruff problems, try this. I’ve struggled with dandruff for years and have tried EVERY product; Selsun Blue, T/Gel, head and shoulders, home remedies, you name it. Head and Shoulders was really the only thing I found that kept it somewhat at bay and I still only use the condition along with using Nizoral shampoo. I have very thick and curly hair so I don’t wash it often which is why none of the other products worked for me because they would make my hair way too greasy. This is going to sound very disgusting but at one point many years ago I had dandruff really really bad. At least I thought it was the address. I kept using every single day and your shampoo I could find and it did very little. My skin on my scalp would flake and almost healed to the point of being a lot like cradle cap that little babies have. This shampoo was a big no for me. I purchased the shampoo and matching conditioner at Costco ($11.99 ea) and was hoping for amazing results. I only used the shampoo/conditioner one time and my hair was so tangled after that it took me twice as long to brush through it. After using my blow dryer, my hair was so stringy and dry. I did not notice much added volume, either. Super disappointing. The shampoo hardly has any suds to it so it just feels like you’re making your hair into a huge knot (I know it’s because Avalon stays away from harmful ingredients in their stuff which is good but it makes washing hair a little more difficult). The conditioner didn’t do anything for my hair (I put a lot on, too, because my hair was so tangled after using the shampoo). Avalon Organics also makes a strengthening peppermint shampoo/conditioner and it’s amazing. I don’t see that one much anymore so I fear they are no longer making it but this thickening biotin b complex shampoo is not a good option for me to try and replace the peppermint one.jennifer.s
We have been using this shampoo for years. The rosemary scent is so uplifting and it cleans oily scalps very well. It is a bit more drying than other regular shampoos but if you keep it on the scalp, it doesn’t strip away the oil from long hair, even with a quick rinse. Great scent, gentle on hair, nice natural ingredients. I use a lot of product each time I wash my hair – I need to lather-rinse-repeat 3 times before my hair is clean, which I think can be improved if I added e.g. some tea tree oil to the shampoo. It would still require a large dollop for it to lather up, though. I only wash once a week, so if I washed daily, one application would probably be enough. I want to start this review off by saying I've used this shampoo for nearly 1 year and my review is completely honest from my own experience ofcourse. BUT, it didn't take long for me to notice negative results. My hair progressly got thinner and thinner, started from seeing some hair on my palms when I moved my hand through, to the point I've seen bunch of hair on my towel after I showered. After realizing my hair is falling apart, I decided to change back to normal shampoo to see if there is any difference and there was, my hair got back to normal after a month or two. It took me too long to realize I should stop using this shampoo since I didn't imagine that this shampoo is the cause for my excessive hair loss. This is a review for the rinse, rather then conditioner because I couldn’t find a listing for it. You apply this as a final step after shampoo and conditioner, leaving it on for 5 or so minutes. It smells extremely strongly of ACV which some may find off putting. It has a runny consistency so it’s easy to apply but also easy to pour too much. Overall I think it did add some extra shine to my hair and helped it to feel a bit sleeker. I like how clean the ingredients are but it probably isn’t something that I would buy in full size.naomi.t

I liked it the first two times i used it but subsequent shampoos left my hair dry and make it look thinner. Conditioner did not help. I just don't think it is a quality shampoo. I have found this problem with cheap shampoos. I went back to using Loreal Everpure Volume shampoo. Even though it is not very expensive it seems to be a good shampoo for my hair.Update: I can no longer use Loreal Everpure shampoo. It started making my head itch. I am trying the Jason again. I regularly use Pura D'Or ACV shampoo and conditioner. I love it. However since my hair is high-maintenance needing moisture I use a lot of conditioner. I decided to order just a bottle of conditioner alone. I tried a different type to see how alternating two different lines would benefit my hair. I know that some ingredients have different properties. The number one ingredient in the ACV conditioner is aloe vera. I have been using this shampoo for YEARS. When i first experienced clumps of hair shed I used it and immediately it halted my hair shed by half. My roots also felt lifted. It's not a miracle but it save a lot of my hair. What really helped my hair is cutting A LOT of hair off basically into a pixie cut, and getting blood work and finding the cause. For me I had severe iron deficiency anemia and never took any supplements for it. For years I had broken thin hair, that barely reached my nose in the front, Frankenstein mullet. My doctor ordered a prescription for iron and I got other pixie cut and treating my hair gently. I followed my prescription exactly. Used this shampoo, good conditioner, a weekly mask and pinned my hair up frequently to avoid friction but I blowout my hair every week with heat protectant. One year later and all of my hair goes past my chin and no bald spots. So major and life changing my boyfriend teases me saying he blinked and my hair grew. It's not thick and long but I have a good thickness lob now. I am extremely happy. Correcting my severe anemia was the biggest help to my hair but this shampoo helped control the damage. I bought this (just the shampoo) for myself while Christmas shopping because I have thinning hair and an alopecia spot. it's been two months and I'm almost done with my first bottle. I wash my hair every other day. I started to notice I have little hairs poking out at my part that I can't lay flat. I was getting frustrated but then realized they are new baby hairs. I looked at my alopecia spot and I have thin sparse regrowth in that area which is a miracle because I haven't had any hair there in over five years. I was happily using the old formula shampoo and conditioner(when it was called a detangler) however now that both have been reformulated, it has changed them beyond recognition and I can no longer use this product range. I have fine hair but also lots of it, which combination makes my hair tangle and knot easily. The old shampoo and conditioner worked through my hair superbly however the new one does not. The shampoo leaves my hair feeling like there is a residue and the conditioner does not untangle my knots easily. I struggle to comb through my hair with my shower comb and find that the comb "drags" through my hair. This was never the case with the old formula. In addition, when brushing my hair ready for blow-drying, I find it difficult to brush through and find that the ends of my hair become knotted and often require to be pulled out (or on one occasion, cut out with scissors). John Masters previously reformulated the neroli conditioner from being a great detangler to a ineffective conditioner which was why I changed to the mint range. Now that the same thing has happened I am left with no option but to change to a different organic brand. I very badly wanted John Masters to be my go to products however unless you stop reformulating products that were never broken in the first place I am saddened to say that you have lost a regular customer. I regularly use Pura D'Or ACV shampoo and conditioner. I love it. However since my hair is high-maintenance needing moisture I use a lot of conditioner. I decided to order just a bottle of conditioner alone. I tried a different type to see how alternating two different lines would benefit my hair. I know that some ingredients have different properties. The number one ingredient in the ACV conditioner is aloe vera. But the mix in this conditioner keeps my hair stronger and prevents split ends on the days when I just wet it. It effectively prevents my hair from getting thinner. I have been using this shampoo for YEARS. When i first experienced clumps of hair shed I used it and immediately it halted my hair shed by half. My roots also felt lifted. It's not a miracle but it save a lot of my hair. What really helped my hair is cutting A LOT of hair off basically into a pixie cut, and getting blood work and finding the cause. For me I had severe iron deficiency anemia and never took any supplements for it. For years I had broken thin hair, that barely reached my nose in the front, Frankenstein mullet. My doctor ordered a prescription for iron and I got other pixie cut and treating my hair gently. I followed my prescription exactly. Used this shampoo, good conditioner, a weekly mask and pinned my hair up frequently to avoid friction but I blowout my hair every week with heat protectant. One year later and all of my hair goes past my chin and no bald spots. So major and life changing my boyfriend teases me saying he blinked and my hair grew. It's not thick and long but I have a good thickness lob now. I am extremely happy. Correcting my severe anemia was the biggest help to my hair but this shampoo helped control the damage. (Also my fatigue, pica, 15 hour slumbers and my inability to run with getting winded instantly gone with my iron prescription) This shampoo helped me keep the little hair I had over the years and I still use it. I was very happy to find this shampoo on Walmart.com. My first purchase of it was from Amazon and the shampoo was very thin and watery, I was not happy with the amount I would have to use to just get a lather. This new bottle from Walmart was so much better, the product was thicker and I'm not having to use as much to attain a good lather. I have been using for a couple of months and so far I have noticed that I am not having as much hair loss and I seem to have a lot of new growth. It leaves my hair feeling light and not weighed down as some shampoo do. Overall I am happy with the product, only complaint would be the smell but that is probably because of the tea tree oil, I hate that smell. My hair for the last few years has started becoming more limp and thin. I've tried various shampoos and hair products that supposedly add volume, but haven't really noticed a difference. I was excited to try this Strengthening shampoo because not only did it claim to strengthen hair, but also lead to more volume. I've used it for about a week now (5 times washing my hair) and I couldn't be happier. I was pleasantly surprised as I have noticed a difference. My hair which was thinning on the top seems a little thicker and actually softer too. The shampoo is best when used with the conditioner and serum as that is what I have been using and it seems to be working. Other things I've loved about it: the scent. It's mild, but so fragrant. It's a pleasant floral smell that stays with your hair until your next wash, which I love. The texture is also ideal; not so thick that it feels goopy and not so thin that it's watery. It also lathers really well which is a definite necessity for me because I never really feel clean without the lather. Another bonus is that I can blow dry and straighten curl my hair without any issues; it actually recommends you to style as required.
