This was my first purchase from PCA and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I've been dealing with a new wave of hormonal acne for a few months and was been looking for a gel texture moisturizer to hydrate my skin during the day. The acne treatments I've been using have dried out my skin pretty severely so when I saw that this was designed to sooth irritated skin and the very high reviews I was excited to try it out. If I use this on its own or preferably with a face oil (I've been using Sunday Riley UFO) my skin is fine, not the most hydrated it could be but pretty good for daily wear. BUT if I try to use this with a prescription benzoyl peroxide or dapsone my face tightens and dries out in a matter of minutes and I experience a burning sensation. I also find that if I try to put a thicker moisturizer on top to try and counteract it's drying/irritating effects it immediately pills and I'm left with thick globs of product around my face that don't absorb, rendering my entire routine pretty useless. I'd give this product 3 stars but it's ridiculously pricey for not very much product and very underwhelming results. I think this would work well for people with oily skin, but otherwise I think there are much better gel moisturizers out there.Anonymous

An easy trick that works is to take the bottle in one hand and firmly bring down several times into the palm of the hand. Then pump a few times. Got this on popsugardabble. This caused intensely dry gross crusty peeling on my face on my eyelids and under my eyes. My skin is still burning a week later. I deeply regret putting this on my face. I look like an exema patient, I don't have exema. My skin was perfect before I used this. At first, I was skeptical because this serum feels really drying: when I apply, it soaks into my skin so quickly that it just feels tight, making me wonder how this can decrease wrinkles when my skin feels so stretched out. I struggle with a very oily t-zone area and was completely BLOWN away when I tried this product under my makeup before going out in this humid heat. I really wanted to love this moisturizer as there are many pros with it. It does hydrate my combination oily skin and I love the matte finish. I also had no irritations and I love that it has a hygienic pump. My only issue is it pills every time I use it. Even using it with a PCA skin serum it still pills. Any of my clients that have acne I DO NOT recommend this for them, as it's intensely hydrative. In the factsheet it specifically states it's not for "acne" clients. When my clients start using HydraLux they are quiet surprised how rich/silky it is & how far a little goes. A light finger dollop to tap around the face is plenty for 1 application. If clients want to wear it under makeup I suggest that they let the HydraLux penetrate for 30 min; why I mainly suggest it as a "night time-Reparative" moisturizer. Personally after an hour my skin feels like silk. I've also notice that, correctly hydrating my skin with this product, has directly = smaller pores. I can use it in the desert to Florida and it always knows how much moisture my skin needs which still trips me out 🥴. If clients state that it "balls up or peels off", I let them know they are using wayyyyyyyyy to much. 1 jar should get you 3-4 months use. I also ask if they are exfoliating 2-3x a week with their "Pore Refining Treatment". If clients have compacted/oily/dull skinned, the product definitely does not absorbs as well as if there acid mantle was healthy. Overall I love the feedback that client are giving me. I am licensed esthetician and PCA certified and I love using this as home care for after a foot peel. I won this product in a raffle of all things from a local salon. I was skeptical at first since I hadn’t heard of the brand prior. I looked it up and of the few reviews I found, decided it was a keeper (I could have sold it for about $60). This is the absolute BEST hydration lotion for your skin. Since I began using it, my skin (especially my legs) have felt so incredibly smooth and soft! One application lasts all day! The scent is pretty bad and it does leave somewhat of a sticky feeling when I apply it to my arms so for that reason, it doesn’t get 5 stars. I would normally dock two stars for those two things but the hydration is SO GOOD, it makes up for it a hit. I was lucky enough to receive my free sample from BzzAgent and I have high hopes for this PCA Advanced Antioxident Treatment ! I have been using it for 3 weeks now and have noticed my skin is smoother and softer. There has been no noticeable lessening of my dark spots yet but I am not giving up. I use this in the AM as directed and I really like the citrusy fragrance. There are "grainy pieces" in the treatment that feel like a facial scrub so make sure you use a moisturizer or serum after the treatment to spread it around your face more easily. This C&E advance antioxidant treatment is the truth. My skin has been much clearer and smooth since I started using this product. Stubborn dark spots on my forehead and chin area that wouldn't budge before with other products have started to fade. My skin tone is the most even it has ever been. The treatment goes on smoothly and absorbs into my skin quickly but I do have to shake the container before hand so it doesn't come out in a watery consistency. I ran to purchase this product after reading a blog review of how it changed a bloggers skin texture. As I get older I've been noticing my pores get larger and larger by the day (so it seems lol) and was looking for something that will actually improve texture over time and not just immediately like all the silicone laden products. This does have that silicone like texture with a slight grit to it but a waterless cream means that it is highly potent. You can feel a slight tingle from the vitamin c but it dissipates in a few seconds after rubbing in. It is best to spray either your face or hands with some aersol spring water or rosewater mist and then apply this, as it will spread alot easier. After applying, I use a lightweight gel spf and then another silicone based primer over that and have not had any issues with pilling. I have used this product for a couple months and a client of mine who I haven't seen for a while could not pinpoint what was different about me, just that I looked amazing and had a "glow". Haha this was really the only new product that I have added to my routine at that point so it does work.Marta

Great product. The packaging and bottle was horrible. When the product arrived it had leaked into the cap but then I couldnt get the pump to work. One of my favorite things to purchase is sets or bundles of products. Most times I can get a better value and try a product with little risk, compared to MSRP individual prices. PCA is great at bundling products that work well together. I lean towards gentle, moisturizing facial washes and this cleanser is just that. It has decent suds action without feeling stripping afterwards. I like to use stronger products at night but the nutrient toner is great for morning routines. It says that this is for all skin types, but I disagree. I have sensitive skin. When I have a reaction to a product, my eyelids become very swollen, red, itchy, dry and flakey. The PCA facial wash did this to me. To make sure it was this specific product, I went back to what I had been using, allowing my skin to calm down for 3 weeks. I used no makeup, no toner, no serums. Just my old cleanser and moisturizer, that's it. I reintroduced the PCA cleanser and within 2 days my eyelids were very swollen, red, itchy, dry and flaky. It is definitely the PCA facial wash. This might be a good product for normal skin; but if you have sensitive skin you might want to try something else.Heidi
Though this cleanser is good, I feel it’s still too harsh to use after a peel. I 100% prefer to creamy cleanser to the facial wash for post-peel care. It isn’t as harsh as the Facial Wash Oily/Problem, but I don’t see this as a suitable cleanser after such an abrasive service. On a day of heavy makeup, though, I feel this would be suitable to ensure no residue is left on the skin. I haven’t worn makeup in quite some time, so I haven’t tested this theory just yet.ladasia.c

The bottle could use an upgrade. Too much product is dispensed. What I've done is keep the sample bottle I received from my esthetician and refilled that. I love this toner. It smells like pumpkin and I feel it does just enough without over drying me. Enzymes are very effective in helping restore and balance our moisture barrier and this does just that. I exfoliate with it 3-5 times a week and although my skin doesn’t tend to break out, I feel this helps keep pesky texture alway. Why did I make this purchase? I decided on this purchase because my beloved Glycolic Facial Tonic seems no longer to be available from either DermStore, where I had a subscription for auto-delivery of the item, nor from the manufacturer. I was hesitant to buy this because I never used a face wash in a jar. My esthetician recommended it and after I was running out of my normal Obagi face wash, I gave it a shot. It is seriously the best!! I have been using it only a few weeks and only in the morning and my skin looks so much better!! I’ve used this PCA Skin product for a little over two weeks but have used it morning and night. It seems to be lightening a few stubborn dark spots already. The spots weren’t extreme, but I know they are there and try to cover them when applying makeup. The product is a generous size and reasonably priced. The one downside is it’s hard too wait two minutes with it on your face especially when trying to rush to get ready for work. And be careful with the 3 thin sponges that come in the box because they are deceiving! With an accidental few drops of water on the 3 together, I inflated all of them instantly. But, I think it’s a good product that does what the advertising says it will.
I bought this product a little over 2 months ago and I my dark spots that was more of a dark mask on my jawline is completely gone. I have tried everything, and I mean everything to not only fight acne which left ugly embarrassing scars on my face every rime. This has a been a personal battle of mine since I was a teenager and I am now 33 years old. I would have terrible outbreaks during that time of the month and often get huge cysts pimples that would be very painful and would take forever to go away, and of course leave huge dark spots all along my cheeks, chin and jawline.
