Can I obsess over the smell for a moment? Amazing! It was the first thing that literally blew my mind! It's not often i find something for my curly hair that just works and i need to review to hopefully help others in their curly hair journey. I have a mixture of tight and loose curls and ringlets but my hair is prone to frizz. It doesn't matter what i put on my hair and i have tried everything, 2 days later i have a halo of frizz. This cream is amazing, definitely a holy grail for me. I use it as a curl cream (leave in) and 6 days later i still have no frizz. This is unheard of. I love the creamy texture, don't be put off by the oil in the name as it's not greasy at all. It leaves my hair soft, bouncy, defined and shiny. Yes shiny, something curly girls know is hard to achieve. I follow up with either the souffle or gel and hover over with my diffuser so as not to break the cast. Then finally use the serum to scrunch in. My hair has never looked or smelled so good. Curlsmith gifted me a free sample of this conditioner in exchange for my honest opinion. This cream is rather rich, but you need very little product, so it doesn't weigh down the hair. I'd start with a dime-sized amount and add more as needed. I tried it on two different textures, 3C and 4C, both shoulder length. I got the best results using a nickel-sized and quarter-sized amount, respectively. It makes both curls and coils look healthy, shiny, and hydrated. It doesn't weigh hair down, and I love, most of all, that it doesn't leave hair feeling soft, not crunchy. It looks fabulous and actually feels like hair! I have to note that following the directions is crucial for my desired results, especially on coily hair. I comb it out completely before washing, and constantly rake my fingers through it while washing and conditioning to keep it detangled Once the Oil-In Cream is raked through soaking wet hair, I use the recommended praying hands method to cover the strands as best I can, but I also gently tug as I go to elongate the coils. I find this helps immensely with shrinkage. Tie it up and fluff it in the morning and it's good for 2-3 days without reapplication, unless you feel like a little additional moisture. If you wash weekly, it doesn't leave hair a sticky, greasy mess, either. Overall, while using this cream takes a few extra minutes of care, the results are well worth the effort. Also, considering the amount needed even on thick hair, this jar holds a good amount of product. This is my first experience with the Curlsmith brand, and I'm delighted that it does what it says. I have moderately frizzy but mostly straight Caucasian hair and I've been using natural, sulfate/paraben free shampoos for a year or so now. I like TGIN because it makes my hair SUPER silky and soft. The conditioner detangles so well that I can easily wide tooth comb my hair straight out of the shower. However, my hair does feel very heavy and has NO volume whatsoever after using this. I also have to wash more frequently as my hair gets oily way faster, oily to the point it looks bad. First of all in case you didn't realize, because I did not, it is more of a detangler spray. It is not a cream or a serum like I thought it was going to be. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It works! I skipped using conditioner on my daughter's wavy, knotty, unruly waist length hair and sprayed a lot of this product. It still felt rather dry and was not horrible to brush, but not like using conditioner. However, the next day her was was soft and manageable. It is expensive and I had to use a considerable amount, but it definitely works. I also used it on my son's curly hair and it made it straighter and softer. Give it a shot! I absolutely adore this product line. I was given some for my baby shower years ago and they were the first products to touch my baby's skin and since then I was hooked. We have never used anything else. She always smells amazing. The hair conditioner is used in place of an actual conditioner and it is a leave-in product. It is a conditioning and detangling spray. Before using this product I would have to use 2/3 products after I wash my hair, and then use a thick cream throughout the week to keep moisture in. But with this, I can finally just use 1 product!!!! That’s a major achievement for me. I use this after I use the Curlsmith co wash, and my hair stays moisturised throughout the week. The only thing I need is to spritz some of the reactivater spray in the mornings and I’m good to go. The product is thick so you don’t need a large amount, and a little goes a long way. I can literally see my hair drinking this up and see the change in my hair after every use. Absolute game changer! I am doing a Curlsmith challenge this year, where I only use Curlsmith brands. After just one use, this product has become a staple in my weekly wash routine. I used it as a deep conditioner, leaving it in for 3.5 hours under a plastic cap following my protein treatment. Following wash out, my hair was shiny and soft with a revived curl pattern screaming YASSSS! My hair is far from damaged but craves moisture and this definitely satisfies and more. I love how the product smells, fresh with a mild fragrant scent. The cream is thick and silky itself and does not require much product use to provide coverage to your hair. With conditioners, I usually use a third to half a container ensuring my hair is fully saturated and coated. With this hair masque I barely went pass the rim where the cap screws on, for me that’s insane! The slippage is incredible and it’s perfect for detangling after only a few minutes in the hair. At 17.99 and needing to use less, this product is definitely worth its price. I used to have amazing, curly/wavy hair without trying at all. Like, shampoo, and sometimes condition every few days and BAM – perfect hair. However, when I went on the pill my hair was suddenly limp and sad. No curl, no wave, no volume, nothing. I tried the curly girl method for over a year and it seemed to make matters worse. I have natural/4a hair. I used this product after taking down a 6 week protective. I started off by shampooing with the TGIN Rosewater hydrating shampoo ( Which I LOVE). After that, I applied this protein treatment for about 10-15 mins. I immediately followed up with the TGIN Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask.. it left my hair feeling amazingly healthy.My hair went from feeling limp and brown to shedding and breakage, to strong and resilient to shedding & breakage. For anyone who doesn't know- protein treatments HAVE TO BE USED WITH A HYDRATING/ MOISTURIZING conditioner as the second step. I am wearing my hair curly and it's hard to tell if my hair is stronger. It did leave my hair feeling dry and I left it in without heat for thirty minutes under a shower cap wrapped in a bath towel. I have been experiencing a lot of split ends, breakage along the shaft and just overall not happy with my hair journey so I am praying for good results. Use this in my 1 yr old’s fine, curly hair as a daily moisturizer along with aloe vera juice and essential oils. I also use it to style her hair, either method keeps her curls soft, moisturized and detangled, while helping to hold her style in place. My texture is thick and curly and my hair has the same results. I do not use it to hold my styles as my texture is too thick and requires more hold. I am so sad. I love this brand. prior to the formula revamp i bought the regular shampoo and the hair conditioner and my hair was so happy! it smelled amazing and my hair was so soft and bouncy all the time. I am not sure why they changed the formula but the new one, I can't wash it out of my hair fully no matter how long i scrub my scalp. The cleanser doesn't go on like shampoo. You cleanse from your scrap to your ends. It has a slight smell but not to overpowering and doesn't smell like chemical. I like that you can use it with color treated hair. My curls have lost some definition. I always condition after. But with Devacurl, I noticed after rinsing my hair felt really soft, so I skipped the conditioning. I also noticed how my hair felt less oily and their was less frizz. I am a 4a fine type, low porosity hair type and this product threw the moisture balance from my hair. I attempted to use the product similar to other deep conditioners. (2 times a week), but that was too much. If you have really dry hair, this product will moisturize and bring it back. My hair became curly after my daughter was born. Sometime around then, I developed crud on my scalp that literally nothing cleaned-from prescription shampoos, low poo, no poo, boars hair brushing, scalp scrubs, baking soda and vinegar-you name it, I’ve tried it. I also have hair that builds up easily compounded by (I think) the world’s hardest water, which isn’t great when you are trying to be low impact, environmentally friendly and still have decent curls. My shower/hair routine is complicated in a effort to minimize the scalp crud. I’ve been using the Guardian for conditioner and body lotion for three years, but my skin, hair, and scalp is very dry and as I progress through menopause, it wasn’t enough anymore. I purchased a bar of Curlosity and have been using it for two weeks as a co-wash and conditioner and guess what-No scalp crud! Usually by now it has shown up or never went away. It’s not great for my curl pattern and hold, but I’m still experimenting and may try using In The Buff for my ends. It’s also simplifying my shower/hair routine! Yeah, less water use! The pros of this shampoo are that it leaves a beautiful purple hue on my hair, which is about 60 percent naturally grey and 40 percent dark brown. It also leaves my hair looking healthy and shiny. The only cons are that it does leave purple stains in the shower. It is easily washable on non porous surfaces like the tile and tub, but on my shower liner it does seem to permanently stain. The other con is that it leaves some purple residue on my scalp and strands which can build up, but I counteract that by using a clarifying shampoo once or twice a week along with daily use of the Tone It Down bar. All the other Ethique bars I’ve used did not have the residue issue, so I’m not sure yet if it’s specific to the Tone It Down bar or if it possibly got damaged in transit, as I do live in a very hot climate. Either way, I’ve gotten many compliments while using this product, and one person who sees me on a bimonthly basis (patient from work) even asked if I dyed my hair! Overall, I like this product, but if you have a lot of porous surfaces in your bathroom that you don’t wish to stain, just be mindful of using this shampoo around them. 🙂Sandra
I am newly 27 and when I was younger I had long cute loose ringlets and waves, between a 2A and 2B. As I got older, my hair straightened out and occasionally would have a small body wave. For a long time, I thought my hair had flattened out to a 1B/1C because I was just older and that was what my hair was supposed to do. I was WRONG. My hair was just dry! My hair is currently about 25 inches long from my scalp so it is long. I use Curliosity as a leave-in conditioner. After I shampoo and condition my hair, I will separate my hair down the middle, run the bar twice on each part of my hair, then rub the bar between my hands and rub my hands through the crown of my head. I massage the conditioner into my hair and let it air dry. BOOM. 2A/2B hair. No more effort than that. I love this product! My seven years old has thick curls, and often her hair is dry. After one use of the SoCozy Kids Curl Conditioner, her hair was soft and moisturized. It has a very strong coconut smell which I like, and was easy to rinse. My other daughter, who has straight hair, also tried it. The conditioner made her hair soft and easy to comb. It’s not hard to go overboard with this hair oil if you have thinner hair. I would say my hair is of a medium thickness and two sprays at an arms length distance is more than enough to make my curls shiny. I do two sprays and run my fingers through my hair to evenly spread it out. It’s a thinner type of oil so distributing is easy. When I applied too much It looked like I spilled baby oil in my hair.annalee.c
I actually love this product. It smells fantastic. I have very coarse, thick, wavy and frizzy hair. I am also white. I am pretty sure Carols daughter was designed for African woman’s hair. I have purchased quite a few of their products and they are fantastic but and very concentrated. For me and As I wrote about how my hair type is, I must be very careful about the amount I use. A little goes a VERY long way. Too much will tend to become a weighed down greasy situation. Would not recommend for anyone with Caucasian fine, thin hair at all. My hair is a combination of 2B, 2C, and 3A. It’s fine, very high density, and medium porosity. I bought this line because I felt my hair was falling straight and was way too heavy from lack of protein. After one wash my hair bounced back with tight curls! Just the perfect amount of protein for my hair type. The only con for me is that it’s a low lathering shampoo. Even though I always shampoo twice, I’ve found I do feel the need to clarify a bit more often while using this shampoo. Definitely not a deal breaker, though. I still love how strong and soft my curls feel so I will continue to incorporate it into my routine! Also it does help with tangling, which is amazing! Blown away by this incredible shampoo. I'm an old lady now and over the years have spent a small fortune on various shampoos ranging from cheapo own brand to expensive professional stuff. Some of it good, very good or just rubbish. I loved how this shampoo basically cleared out all the s*** from what I thought was clean hair and it even took out all the weak and loose hairs. So beginning with the smell, it's very pleasant and fruity, Iand moderately strong. The packaging is….not so great as other reviewers say, so I just take the top off and put it back on when I'm done, no biggie really. I have 3a-4a hair that's moderate porosity, I always detangle my hair prior to shampoo and was in sections, it does tangle your hair back up, even if I focus on the scalp while hold the length of the hair, and pulling the shampoo down the strands, it still tangle lol. As far as the product in my hair, it feels rich and slightly moisturizing; as far as leather, this product doesn't lather in your hands, but it does moderately in soaked hair on the first wash (I wash every 2-3 weeks, so I expect to need two washes), on the second wash it lathers really nicely after getting rid of most of the product build up and my curls. are. popping after rinsing! love it. My hair is left feeling clean, and moderately stripped of it's moisture (definitely need a moisturizing conditioner/deep conditioner to follow up) and oddly soft. I have sensitive skin but have had no reactions to this product and no increase in hair shedding.Menca

After shampooing my hair I towel dry my long color treated hair very gently with a water absorbing towel and put a few pumps of the 14 in 1 Miracle Worker into my hands, rub them together and apply to my hair from midway down to the ends. I can then let it air dry while I sleep and wake up to a gentle wave in my hair. If my hair looks slightly frizzy during the week, i will pull into a ponytail, wet my hands with water and slightly dampen my hanging ponytail hair before putting a few pumps of 14 in 1 Miracle Worker into my hands, rubbing together and disperse onto my long haired ponytail. It makes my hair look soft with a light wavy bend and never feels sticky when dry. It works even better than higher priced conditioning products that I have purchased in the past.Georgia P.
I bought this because I recently had to have brain surgery due to a brain bleed, and my scar was itching like crazy. This sooths my scalp and stops the itch as soon as I spray it on, wet or dry hair. It also helps with the frizz, enhances my waves. I like that it prevents breakage and strengthens. It's moisturizing. It helps detangle. It's super affordable. I really wanted to LOVE THIS but something was off for me. I used this for a full month before reviewing. The smell is the best thing about this smoothie. When first applied it feels like a leave in conditioner and it smells great. I usually air dry my curls and after putting mouse or oil they will curl naturally on their own into “romantic style� curls. HOWEVER with this smoothie the hair becomes limp heavy wavy and the product is essentially very waxy rather than moisturizing after drying. I have no curls after using it just a frizzy mess after using this and even by twisting the smoothie into each strand as per the instructions to create curls it does not facilitate curls… the hair needs to be fully washed by the next day. Additionally this broke me out so so badly. I couldn’t even keep my face on the pillow after using this product. My hair needed to be washed out the next day. Horrible breakouts on my face and back after using this and then they stopped once I stopped using it / stopped sleeping on my hair after putting this smoothie in. You get a lot of product which is nice but it’s almost causing me more hassle by weighting down my hair and causing the need to wash more frequently and I have to avoid my hair touching my body while using it due to the thick clogging waxiness of it. So the moment I took this product out of the box I absolutely LOVED the smell ! It would be to a point that I would walk by and just open it so I can smell it ! It smelled amazing ! Now regarding my hair I’m not sure if I put to much or my hair just wasn’t liking it ! It left a very weird feeling in my hair and I found that it made my hair look greasy/wet ! It did keep my curls ( in the pic) a nice curl as if I just brushed my hair after a shower! I've been using the shampoo, conditioner, and curl smoothie for the last little while and, my word, my curls have never felt so soft! I'm very much a wash and go kind of girl. I cannot be bothered putting much effort into my hair so I was happy to try a product that was so easy peasy. I washed, conditioned, worked the curl smoothie (it's like a cream) through my damp curls, let it dry, and voila! Super soft, lovely smelling, healthy looking curls. The only *teeny* downside is my curls aren't as bouncy as they could be with other products but I think what this product is doing is making my curls the best they are naturally.
