Best Robot Vacuum For Dogs (2024 Update)

My house is a 2217 square foot house and its floors are over 75% carpet which requires good vacuuming considering there are small children and a wide layout of rooms on both floors which necessitates a robot vacuum on each floor to ensure deep cleaning on carpets to prevent the accumulation of dust and dirt. This Robot Shark IQ has a high level of absorption leaving a great job in its wake. The ground floor has a large dining room, office, bathroom, laundry room, kitchen and hallway areas that require good vacuuming and I have noticed that even with all of that, it has mapped it out super well in just 3 cycles. , and has started off in a different direction each time, obviously looking to complete the map and is doing an excellent job so far. He has had no problem returning to his "mother ship" to unload when needed and picking up where he left off. Run time on most tile and carpet floors can be approximately 90 minutes, including 1 or 2 round trips to unload. After loading, it will come back out and pick up where it left off, just as you'd expect. On the second floor there are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and the work is repeated in the same way with an impeccable finish due to its powerful suction level… it is a great appliance that saves us time and we can program it to clean without us being at home. My 3rd Shark Robot A few years ago I bought a Shark ION RV750 robovac on eBay and was blown away by what a good job it did, so I purchased a Shark R85 on the next Prime Day, but was disappointed as it seemed it wasn't an upgrade, if anything it performed a little worse (it was slightly taller so it didn't fit under as many items of furniture), but it still did an excellent job. So moving into a tri-level home, I knew I wanted to get one more, but was torn between getting another 750 (which I knew worked well – and it's still going strong to this day!) or if I wanted to splurge and get the IQ Self-Empty. The appeal of being able to map and then determine which rooms were to be vacuumed was a big appeal as I've got two teens and their rooms aren't always robovac friendly. I also really liked the idea of not having another robovac to empty daily. We have 3 cats and a dog – along with allergies, so daily vacuuming is a must – and it's always a full bin. I considered the Roomba i7+ and i9+, but figured that I'd already had such a good experience with Shark that I'd stick with what I know works, and works well. So I decided to give the IQ a try. I'm already blown away! It's exceeded my expectations and it hasn't even completed the mapping process yet. As always, set up was a breeze. It's only ran a few times, but I can already tell a difference between it and the 750 that was previously on the top floor. I have a Shark Apex vacuum and the carpets are closer to that level of clean than the ION 750 which is astounding. Unlike my other two robovacs, it sets out and vacuums row by row with an impressive amount of precision. It does, as expected, fail to get debris in compact corners (for example the 4 inches of wall between the dresser and the doorway). It's ability to navigate around items, but then remember exactly where it left off once it has gone around, cleaned and returns to that spot, is equally impressive. The precision in which it finds the dock and loads in unlike the other two robovacs, albeit, I don't give it the suggested space around the dock (all three versions do just fine docking even with minimal surrounding open space). When it self-empties, it is loud, but not any more so than how a normal household vacuum sounded about 20 years ago, and it only lasts for about a minute, if that. I love this little robovac so much that I could see myself replacing the other two older ones with this model in the next year or so. Let me be clear, emptying the bins daily isn't bad at all. It's that the only trash wide enough to easily ensure none of the dust or debris go into the air or on the surrounding ground is the kitchen trash – and that's assuming no one's loaded up the trash to almost being full, and while most of the time, I'll go dump the bins in large trash, if I'm running out the door or in the middle of something else, I do tend to just go to the nearest trash can – which makes a small mess (although much less messy than not having the floors clean at all!).Ashlie

We’ve owned other robot vacuums and it’s very apparent the difference in quality, performance and advanced features with this Shark IQ Robot. The vacuum is very thoroughly at cleaning every nook and cranny. It can transition easily from hardware floors to rugs. There are blocking strips that are included if you don’t want it to go in certain areas such as cords or fringe materials. It does a good job of getting out of a spot that it can get stuck in. I was very impressed that it would maneuver on and off the base of our bar stools. It will get under beds, sofas and tables as long as there is clearance. I would highly recommend downloading the Shark Clean app so the robot can map your house and you can control, monitor and schedule to have it automatically start cleaning or you can turn it off and it will return back to the charging dock. So cute! The best part is the self emptying function that will empty all the debris each time it returns to the base. The only negative feedback is that it is very loud when it performs the self emptying function, but at least you know that it is working. We don’t wear shoes in the house and like to vacuum every few days to pick up any dust and dirt which is very noticeable and enjoyable. This is well worth the price.saleetah

I've tried the big names like Neato D-Vacs / Roombas ($400-$700 range) and I found that while they had great suction power and capacity, their navigation abilities made them useless. All the cleaning power in the world means nothing if your robot vacuum never makes it back to it's base to charge and you're stuck hunting for it to carry it home everyday. I got this Eufy G30 Verge on a special buy price of $169 down from the usual $350, and it absolutely blows all of the other robot vacuums I've tried out of the water. It's very deceiving when you first fire it up since it's extremely thin and makes very little noise. I actually tried feeding it a couple dust bunnies to make sure it was on because it was so quiet. Despite this, 30mins into letting it map my house, I had to empty the dust bin because it was full….. with dust and hair (as seen in the pic)…. that was still on my floor without me being able to see it after manually vacuuming the day before. It ran for about an hour and generated a full map of my 1000 square foot condo before heading back directly to it's dock to charge. You can watch it generate the map using the app, and you can see that it uses that map to navigate your home perfectly. It moved in clean lines and then shot to areas of the condo that had missing boundaries on the map to fill in the data. Its very clear watching this bot move that it's far more intelligent than non-mapping bots, especially those that just bump around forever. SUMMARY The compact and stylish Eufy G30 Verge is the king of navigating homes and always making it back to its dock. While it may lack the power and capacity of some of it's larger robot vacuum rivals such as the Neato D-Bot or Samsung models, it is more than capable of ridding your low-pile carpet and hard floors of hair and dust. Although I wouldn't recommend this for homes with operating areas larger than 1000 square feet or large levels of hair and debris like food, this is the perfect bot vac for areas less than 1000 square feet that is generally clean but you would like to maintain. This isn't a miracle worker that can deep clean your floors, but with a price tag of under $200 it's an absolute steal.Alex

I usually love the brand, Eufy. I have had two now. My first one is the first edition and it lasted a few years before it started to be really loud. It still sucked (literally sucked, not it was bad, sucked), but was too loud. So, I bought this one to replace my old one. I put my old one upstairs and kept this one downstairs. First off, it was a fantastic robot. It sucked everything up really well! It was really quiet and really fast. I keep really good care of everything I own. So, I regularly cleaned the filter and cleaned the wheels and did maintenance on to keep it going good. The warranty ran out at 12 months and at 13-14 months my little robot stopped sucking as well and became really loud. I contacted the Eufy corporate office and they told me a bunch of things to do to help the robot. So, I cleaned everything again and the problem stayed the same. I replied again and they offered me a discount. I explained that I think I might have a faulty one because my other one has lasted for years. Also, I did not want to buy another one for it to stop working at 13 months. They then offered a replacement kit, which contained brushes. I already had bought brand new brushes and I knew that this was not the problem. It stopped sucking up debris, so brushes were not what I needed. I explained all of this to them and they said that there warranty is for 12 months and I can honor the discount and that is all they can do. They and I were very polite to each other, but we just do not agree. I normally only review if an item was good, but I just did not want someone else to buy this and have it not work one to two months after the warranty runs out.CJ

The iLife Robot is great. I gets underneath areas that are hard for me to clean. It usually takes 2 charges to clean the entire house so the battery life is pretty good. It’s easy to clean up too. Highly recommend. Even the pup approves!amanda.k

I love this vacuum. It doesn't find its way back home but it works miracles hands down picking up dog hair. I have seven Chihuahua's life was a nightmare with trying to keep up with the dog hair not any more. I run it every morning while I'm getting ready for work and then when I get home 12 hrs late from work. Its the best.Gwen

We call this little worker DJ Beetle! (get it… eh eh?? maybe not lol) He keeps our house looking amazing considering we have two dogs and a now 13 month old. It is easy to set up and easy to get a specific time set so it will automatically do it itself. What we do not like about it is that it does tend to get stuck sometimes and has some weird obsession with getting stuck in our bathroom and closing the door.. However, when the battery starts to die or it is done it's task of rocking the house it will return to base till his next mission. The downside to him in terms of cleaning is he is not very good at taking dog hair off low pile carpeting but considering he takes about 1 hour worth of cleaning off my plate everyday he has earned his keep in the house lol!tori.a

I have hardwood floors and I simply want roomba to do a quick daily run on the high traffic areas (kitchen, high traffic passage/hall, and entrance). The whole area is roughly 800 sqf. I have change the settings to custom do that it does 1 run per area so that it's "as quick as possible", yet it takes about 1 hour to do 280 sqf, and that's if it doesn't get stuck. Every single day it manages to get stuck in the most stupid way possible. On the rare days it decides to do the entire job it also finds a way to screw up. As you can see in the attached picture, one day it decided it needed to clean my neighbor's house. So it happens that NY neighbor has the same iRobot model and we think somehow they were trying to get together for a good night out. The dumbest part of all? Now that route is permanently part of my map and the only way to erase it is to start from scratch again…. I can't believe the software doesn't allow for manual modifications to correct the dumbest "smart" appliance ever created. Another incredible aspect of this useless piece of junk is that it's built to run with the lights on. The camera that's on top of it, does not see well in darkness so you absolutely have to run roomba during the day of with the lights on!! Another annoying thing about this is that every 1 or 2 months it simply decides that it won't do the daily run for no apparent reason, so every time I have to press the clean bottom for 20 seconds to remind it that I actually do not like dog hair on the floors. Ling story short, do not buy this model. Even if you win it on a raffle, don't hesitate to give it away!!!! The sad part is that when it runs, it actually does a decent job on the hardwood floors. The thing is that it takes too long and only finishes about 2% of the job required. Like I mentioned before, my neighbor has the same model and he is equally as dissatisfied with it as I'm!Ricardo

I have had this robot for a year and it has been the worst purchase I've mad. The robot is completely infuriating. So let's start with the price – at the given price point I should be doing maintenance on this this only when brushes or bags need to be changed. It needs weekly cleaning and troubleshooting. The regular vacuum I purchased following this purchase (due to continued requests to return, and constant emails because this robot, has literally worked less than 9 times this entire year on command) requires me to empty it once a month with once a week use. The app is flaky at best and the robot almost never responds to it. Even though my virtual assistants can get it to at least make noise. Not to mention it's loud – all the time. Loud when emptying the bin, loud when running and loud when docking. The bin never empty's as designed so I always have to manually do it, with new bags old ones or anything. I thought it may have been clogged but my new vacuum pulled nothing. Operation is so infuriating, I can't stand to use this item that was supposed the make my life easier! The mapping is awful, and if you try to fix it to help the robot, you'll spend hours to discover that the adjustment only last as long as the robot doesn't run again! When the battery gets low, it never goes back to the base and because the battery is dead I have to search and find it. My smart home is set to turn the lights on when it's scheduled to o run, to help it "see", and it still manages to not be able to find its way back. To make matters worse, the lights were set to go off when the robot redocks – luckily they still went off after an the robot died. I could go on and on about the sink hole of money you will spend on accessories, and the time you will waist troubleshooting nothing, but I would say – just don't waist your money, spend it on a Dyson or Bissell!Shay

This is our first foray into the world of Robot vacuums and must say I personally am blown away by it. We have owned it for the last one month or so. We chose the S9+ iRobot Roomba since based on my research, it is the best robotic vacuum at this time. So far it has fit this bill perfectly. The installation was very simple and my daughter did it since she was so super excited about it that she would not wait up for me. So by the time I got to it, she had already installed it and kept it ready to go. We put in the laundry room and it does not take much space. We started the mapping run on day one of installation. It took a good 5-6 hours and we had a bit of doubt as to what exactly it was doing. But apparently this robot learns and now we have a daily schedule that vacuums the most frequently areas which it finishes in an hour and 10-12 mins like clock work. We have tiles on the first floor with carpet in two rooms. The vacuum switches from tile to carpet mode effortlessly. The vacuum’s suction (S9+ has the highest suction in current range of iRobot vaccums) seems just right. I am amazed at how the vacuum navigates itself through the maze in your house. The careful drive feature does work and it does not bump into objects. Also it seems to clean in areas that our usual vacuum does not reach. Although my wife would occasionally sweeps the floor to bring dirt from under normally stationary objects like sofa etc, it is not needed everyday. For the daily quick clean, make sure though that there are no dangling wires that may get entangled in the vacuum or any clothes. The vacuum can get stuck if there are clothes lying around. We do “clean everywhere “ deep clean on the weekends and that job finishes in about 5 years. If I had to suggest improvements, I would say somehow if they can make it more quieter in future, it would be awesome. Also I know this is asking too much, but if it can do stairs and go on second floor too. 🙂 Little bit regarding the Mop. We were debating whether we should buy the Vacuum and Mop combo but decided to go for it since Bestbuy was giving a nice discount on the combo during the Black Friday sale. The mop does a decent job, is very quiet and even tells you if you forget to fill the cleaning fluid. It takes a long time though so if anything, that is what I would ask for improvement. All in all, very happy with the purchase!AtulK

I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. For this much money you can buy a mid-range upright which I would recommendSteveC

I'm relatively new to the robot vacuum world, but I've learned a lot in a short time with trial by fire. I started with a Bob, so maybe the bar was set very low to begin with, because Bob is a dumb robot vacuum. He was so random in his protocols and lacked the necessary sensors to operate like a smart RV. He would vacuum in paths that didn't connect or revist areas he'd already done 3 times and miss what you kept thinking he'd get! You couldn't tell him where to vacuum, where not to vacuum, nor which room to vacuum in. He coudn't even find his own charger in a timely manner! I'm still yelling at Bob in my head to this day (Over here Bob! No Bob! It's right there Bob, get it, no, no arghhhhh!!!)! Deebot is exactly what you wanted out of Bob, but couldn't get. Clean lines, logical paths and consistency. If you're looking for a smart and intelligent RV, make sure it has Lidar sensors! These are what give your RV the parameters of the room and the objects within it. So far DeeDee has outperformed my expectations, within it's limitations. It has a lidar sensor, cliff sensors and a camera, all of which work in concert to identify your room and everything in it, while avoiding most pitfalls. I can tell DeeDee where to go, where not to go and even to come clean a specific spot where I've made a mess. Best of all, she can MOP! None of which is perfect. She can only get 95% of the floor. For instance, my kitchen hardwood floors look great, BUT I still need to mop the edges and just under the appliances, because she can't get all the visible flooring below them nor all the way up to the edge of the baseboards. Still, the bulk of my carpet and hardwood floors are looking so much better, more often since we got her. I guess I'm just overwhelmed by how much better she is than Bob. And I guess I fell for the trap Bob set for new robot vacuum buyers! Show a high retail price and a super low sale price, thereby leading you to believe Bob was a Super Bob, when it turns out Bob is a Super Dud!! There are other more familiar brands, but given that DEEBOT mops and vacuums all in one, while having Lidar, cliff sensors, a camera and a solid app, it's hard to want to go with anything else. Roomba is one such household name, but their tech is dated comparably (no lidar sensors). I'm sure they'll come around, but nothing they have currently is this advanced. LG and Samsung are over priced and Shark is much like Roomba, in which they mimic what a machine with Lidar can do, but slower and less efficient, per the youtube vids I've watched. The 360 brand seems to be a copycat and pretty good from what I've seen in reviews, but they are so new, they don't even have strong customer service presence yet, so hard to want to go with them. CONS: Dustbin is a little small, but easy to empty and maintain. It doesn't get all the way to the edges, tho I'm sure this is the case with all of the RV's. The app could be a little more use friendly, tho it works pretty well when you get used to it. TLDR: Buy this one over the others. The tech is the latest greatest, it works well and consistently, and I don't have to scream at it (Bob is somewhere chasing his tail – no Bob over heeeerrrrrre!!!). It being an all-in-one vac/ mop is a complete bonus.Junior

I like the job this robot vacuum does. I have it scheduled to clean every day and it has helped keep my place clean as I want to make sure the area is open for cleaning. It does a decent job of switching between the carpet and non carpet areas. Also, it has a mopping plate that sucks up dirt on one end and mops the floor on the other end. Also, it automatically avoids any carpet if the mopping plate is installed. I did purchase an upgraded mopping plate pro and that does a super job of mopping up and removing stubborn stains. Not sure why they don't make that standard because the mopping plate that comes with the unit works best on a floor with very light stains. Overall I am glad I got this unit as I have mostly hardwood floors and a few area rugs. I am really enjoying having a cleaning servant available at all times!Calvin

It doesn’t avoid objects well, doesn’t avoid animal toys at all. On top of which it’s side brush design grabs ahold of things much more than previous robots I’ve had and it’s escape/untangle maneuvers aren’t as thought out as they should be. When it does recognize something it should avoid it either avoids the entire area all together or it takes it’s sweet time crawling around the object turning to check and see where it is every centimeter. Most irritating however is that it leaves small pockets and corners completely untouched. In my kitchen and bathroom it doesn’t get close enough to the cabinets to grab crumbs near the baseboard (by a large margin) and not because the side brush kicked it around- it wasn’t even close to touching the crumbs. I even tried using it with the AI turned off and it was still not thorough. It also loses suction quickly if you don’t empty the bin every use- you can feel the air coming out the side and when the bin was half full the air flow was significantly reduced in Max+. The bin is also too small for a premium model, if you have multiple animals you will stuff the bin full every time it runs. It is a relatively good vacuum overall. But the level of expectation especially considering price leads you to be disappointed and the object avoidance is misleading. Most of these issues are software related so it’s possible they could get fixed but there is no guarantee.SethCB

It's very good on hardwood and rugs, has no issues like other brands climbs on rugs and etc. Roborock S6 isn't as good. Has sensor for carpet detection and this avoid to go over carpet or rug while in mopping mode. currently unique and very useful feature. soon will be avail in roborock S5 MAX, S6 doesn't have it. Multi floor feature – also useful. roborock s6 doesn't have it water dripping for mopping is controlled from the app, several levels – this is useful and also unique for 950 cons: 1. LDS, laser sensor isn't horizontal that is the issue as 950 can easily get under bed, but can't get out as from distance it doesn't see a way out and as result gets stuck under bed. sure this area can be marked as no go zone, but how to clean under bed in this case? 2. app doesn't have virtual walls, which are useful; roborock s5, s6 has it. 950 has just box as no go zone, which only horizontal or vertical 3. no map edit and no map selection. you can't create new map at will if any exists and it might overlap the area – 950 choose by itself, which isn't correct map for the area 4. 2 floors required 2 charging docks to work as expected, otherwise map selection isn't guaranteed 5. it's loud. roborock S6 a bit quieter 6. app doesn't have many features like manual navigation, map management, virtual walls I think that updates to firmware and app software can address current issues and add missing features.mikek75310

Do not buy Ecovacs 950 ozmo. The life of product is not more than 8 months. All of its sensing system totally fail. The support team is sitting somewhere in Malaysia. Thet can not resolve issue bcos there are no service center in india.

I purchased the J7 after I decided to retire my few years old Roborock S4 to the basement and get some newer technology. If the J7 was my first robot vacuum purchase I would probably be happy. But when compared to my previous one this has too many annoying problems. Let me start with what it does better. First, it really is a good-looking vacuum. Much nicer than the homely S4. Next, the amount of pet hair and dirt it collects is at least 30% better than the S4. So isn't that what a vacuum is supposed to do? Vacuum? Why 3 stars? Because it only finishes a cleaning job 50% of the time. Reviewing the last 30 cleaning jobs on the app, only 14 finished. There are way too many issues that require my intervention to get a finished job. It sucks up objects it is supposed to avoid, brushes get stuck with pet hair, doesn't dock properly so not charged for next job, strands itself because it didn't recognize no-go zone, etc. It is rare I need to help along the S4 except to empty the much larger dust bin or clean the washable filter (which the Roomba does not have). I wouldn't say I totally regret this purchase but given the opportunity to do it again I would go with another Roborock. BTW, as I write this review the Roomba has not cleaned in 6 days while I wasn't home. Battery was dead sitting on the charging dock.BretLee

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to try several robot vacuums, but nothing has come close to the ECOVACS Robotics DEEBOT X1 OMNI Robot Vacuum & Mop. This unit offers so many features and outperforms all previous units and it also includes a mop feature! What’s in the box: – DEEBOT X1 OMNI vacuum and mop robot – OMNI auto-emptying and auto-cleaning station – Extra dust bag – Extra pair of mopping pads – Cleaning brush – User manual When it arrived the size of the box was a little surprising, I was nervous about how big this robot might be. Once unboxed, it is actually a very manageable size for our home. We have a perfect spot in our family room for the base unit which provides access to all the hardwood and tile flooring on the main level. Setup: There are extensive instructions included (user manual) that are easy to follow and made the initial setup a breeze. Ecovacs has done an amazing job of simplifying the setup process for the non-technical user. Both the Deebot (vacuum) and the Omni station (base – instructions attached) require setup. The base needs to be plugged in and the clean water tank filled. The DEEBOT should be fully charged before initial use. The side brushes and mop pads can be installed at this point or left off for initial mapping of the required spaces. Once the area is mapped a 2D or 3D map is available, rooms can be identified, and zones can be setup and customized as desired. There are numerous settings available based on user preferences. Cleaning: The DEEBOT X1 simply outperforms any previous robot vacuums I have owned. The unit runs quietly, and the mopping performance far exceeded my expectations. We have a small dog that keeps us on our toes in terms of cleaning the hardwood and tile flooring and it’s now a snap. I've owned several robot vacuums and I can say nothing comes close to this Ecovacs robot. I've used it for a few days now and am completely blown away with how well this robot works and how dead simple Ecovacs made the whole process. Out of the box this thing is huge. I've had one other self emptying robot vac and the base station for the X1 dwarfs my old base station. This is largely due to the fact that this base station has two massive water tanks to fill and empty the robots on board water tank used to mop hard surfaces. The robot itself is sleek and feel sturdy and very high quality. Packed with every feature imaginable, this robot really is the most advanced smart home device I've ever used. Setting the Robot up was so simple. I followed the instructions in the app, plugged in the base station, connected to wifi and used Ecovacs built in voice assistant "He Yikko" to tell the vacuum to get started. It then made it's way around my house quickly mapping out the entire house room by room. Gone are the days where you have to wait through several full vacuum cycles to get a map of your house. Within 15 minutes the app was updated with an almost perfect map of my house, it even recognized the toilet in the bathroom. After getting the map of the house, I popped on the mop brushes and sent the vac on its way cleaning my house. There were a few things I was really surprised with. The first being how quickly it made its way around my house. It was considerably faster than my old robot and still cleaned just as well if not better. The second was the X1's ability to identify changes in the floor. When you have the mop brushes on the X1 easily identifies transitions to rugs or carpets and knows not to go there and try to mop your carpet. I was also shocked at just how well it cleaned after its first full run. The first run the X1 wandered around finding every wall and moving in what fell like no logical way. But at the end it did clean the house. But every time after that this thing moved like a well oiled machine, starting at the back of the house and moving room by room making straight lines through the whole floor. I will say my floors have not looked this good in a long time. I decided to really test out the X1 by starting it without cleaning up the shoes and toys my kids left all over the house and not opening all the doors all the way. I was again shocked to watch the X1 roam through the house, dodging socks and dolls and finding its way through a half opened door to go about its business. It really only tripped up once by sucking up a white barbie dress, which to be honest is understandable. I've learned the X1's base water tank will last about 4 cycles of mopping by about 1000 sq ft of hardwood, which seems very nice. Emptying the dirty water is quick and simple and man was it full of dirty water. I have no doubt this think is cleaning after looking at the water. It really is a start and forget kind of robot that will do everything you need it to and exceed all your expectations. But the fun doesn't stop at mopping and vacuuming. The X1 has a few other little features that just add to the fun. The first being the build in voice assistant. I wasn't expecting very much, since usually proprietary voice assistants don't work as well as Google or Alexa, but this this is pretty cool. It's faster to respond than any assistant I've used and works great for getting the X1 started and has fun little features like yelling at your X1 to come clean by your feet. There is also a built in camera and speaker on the front of the X1 that lets you use the X1 like a sentry if you want it to roam your house to keep an eye on things while you are away. It's an interesting feature and a neat little addition. I can't say I've gotten a ton of use out of it, but how cool is that my vacuum has a camera. Really the only thing I had any problems with was I wanted to put cleaning solution in the water used to mop, but Ecovacs recommends you only use it's cleaning solution. Only problem is, I can't find anywhere that the cleaning solution is sold. It's not even available on Ecovacs website, which is really strange. Overall, this thing has it all. I don't think you'll find a more advanced robot vacuum, which makes sense given this things price tag. SETUP/MAPPING It comes with the Deebot X1 Omni vacuum/mop robot with a plethora of sensors, two side brushes, a “floating” main brush, three wheels, and mop system attachment with pads. The top is magnetic which grants you access to the on/off switch and a cute little bagless bin that can hold 0.1 gallons with a reusable washable filter that empties automatically when the vacuum goes back to the station or manually if you want to go back to that peasant lifestyle. The Omni auto-emptying and auto-cleaning Station is large compared to other bases. As it houses a clean water tub, dirty water tub, a cleaning brush, an extra pair of mop pads, and a 3L disposable dust bag. The power cord is removeable and has a place to wrap it on the back for cable management. Both the vacuum and the base feel well built, solid, and high quality. Each of the tubs has thick plastic with rubber textured handles. Everything opens and closes easily. Along with sliding in and out of place smoothly. You can tell a TON of engineering went into every single aspect of this device. Replacement parts aren’t too expensive either which is good. They report an overall run time of 140 minutes. Which I found to be accurate on stock settings. But if you increase the suction power it is a lot less. If you run out of battery mid clean it will return to the dock, charge a bit, and then resume cleaning. They report it takes 6.5 hours to charge fully. Which is a long time, but they likely chose that to maximize the life of the battery. They say it has a max decibel range of 68 dB. I found on stock settings it was close to 50 – 60 dB and would imagine going to maximum suction would be between 60 – 68 dB. On the lid of the base, it gives you instructions on how to get started. Which pretty much says unbox everything and scan the QR which takes you to the Ecovacs HomeVac App which then walks you thought the rest of the process. Which is pairing your robot, connecting it to the internet, and doing the initial mapping that you can see in real time. They report that it uses True Mapping 2.0 which scans the home environment, quickly generates a map, plans the most efficient cleaning paths, and they guarantee less missed and repeated spots. Which I found to be accurate. Once the initial mapping was done, I fine-tuned it by adjusting my house walls, combining some rooms, labeled them, and made a few software barriers. Such as my stairs. It treats that barrier as a wall, and I haven’t had an issue with it. Overall setup time was about 30 – 40 minutes. VOICE CONTROLS: The Voice Control supports Alexa and Google Assistant. But also has a unique one called Yiko. Which you can access by saying “Ok, Yiko” and then a plethora of commands such as “begin cleaning”, “stop”, “return to dock”, “what are you doing”, “clean x”, “mop x”, “clean under table”, etc. You can say “I’m here” and through sound localization tech it will seek you out and clean around you. All of which worked well just like any modern age smart assistant. However, the robotic voice can be improved as it doesn’t sound very good. You can increase/decrease the volume through commands or via the app. And it will call out when it is doing something which I LOVE. Such as starting a clean, returning to the base, emptying the bag, cleaning the mop pads, etc. Which I really like. As that way you aren’t left wondering. For those of you concerned about privacy voice commands are saved on a server which you can go in and delete in the app. You can also turn it off if you’d like. OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE: It uses something called AIVI 3D which utilizes AI computing power, astrophotography-grade RGB camera, LiDAR, dToF sensor, autopilot technology, and human recognition to identify and detect obstacles while scanning the home and creating paths to clean even in the dark. They do report that it works better in well-lit environments. Which I found to be true but did just fine in the dark. With all this tech it does a spectacular job at avoiding objects. On the extremely rare occurrence it did suck something up it shouldn’t have it would automatically turn off the brush, lift itself up, and try to vroom off. This worked every time without intervention. There are two protective bumpers on the front, and I found it rarely bumped into anything to activate them. Even when it did it was very mild making me unconcerned about damage to the vacuum or the thing it was being rude to. It never ran into me or my dog. When it detects an object (shoes, dog toys, clothes, cords, socks, etc.) it will clean around them with a minimal barrier (maybe an inch/inch and a half) and gets even closer around tables, chairs, or walls (maybe an inch or less). It never got stuck anywhere. During the initial mapping it shimmed itself into a small crevice under a bed that was barely big enough for it to fit, went exploring, and came out the other side full of dust with a story of adventure. I received this vacuum cleaner from Samsung for product testing purposes. I've never really considered owning a robotic vacuum before – both because I thought the setup might be an involved process and that I would need another vacuum to do the stairs. Well, having a decent sized home with fairly large rooms, each with either solid wood or hard vinyl installed, the JetBot changed my mind quite quickly! The room scanning with the LiDAR is superb. You can see a plan of your room appear on the Smart things app I'm seconds, and the whole of your house start to take shape before your eyes. Very impressed. I have a black labrador with sheds a good number of hairs around the house and being black against lighter coloured flooring the floor looks clean for about ten minutes after vacuuming usually. With the jet bot you can just select the room to clean from the app and hey presto, your room is clean and hair free with zero effort! You can also drag a square on your phone screen to cover an area of your home to spot clean and the JetBot obliges immediately. There are many options to tailor the cleaning process to your liking, and I especially like the self emptying process when the JetBot returns to its base. You can also control the JetBot from out and about – I tested through the Smart Things app with my phone WiFi disabled and it worked over mobile data. I was also very impressed with the JetBots ability to clean surfaces that are raised off the floor. I have freestanding speakers and kitchen stools that both have bases that are up off the floor. The JetBot lifts itself up and cleans those areas perfectly as well! I am completely convinced of the benefits of owning a robotic vacuum now – yes you'll still have to do the stairs with another vacuum, but that is all you will have to do. I have had "bot" vacuums for years, but this was the fanciest model I have used. The difference is night and day. Coming home to a house filled with vacuum lines because it cleans so well on its own is so satisfying. Is it loud when it's working, yes it is, but do we watch t.v. while it is in the room just fine? Yes we do. It is very good at getting to the edges of rooms, it does have a harder time getting under cabinet edges, but overall it does a spectacular job. And when it returns to the base station and another vacuum system empties the collection bin and puts it in the bag in the station it's so cool to hear, now that one is loud, but it's like 10 seconds and then it's back to charging. The first time you use it it will map out your house and show you a surprisingly accurate map of your house and any furniture etc. that is has "found" while mapping everything. It does cover room transitions very well, it's still low to the ground, but it has the ability to lift itself over objects and transitions very well. The ability to make "no go" zones on your map is also very handy, if you don't want it to go to cords, get near stairs or electronics. Or for me last week, not get to close to the x-mas tree, an area that it normally will clean. And I can go back later and "edit" the map and remove that zone with just a few clicks. A few drawbacks, it can get stuck but not very easily, and the sensors will get dirty, and it will yell at you from the other side of the house saying please check the sensors. But usually, it's a warning and it will continue cleaning. When using the application to have it clean, it will send you notifications if it gets stuck or needs to be cleaned etc. And being able to look at a map of where it has cleaned, and I mean every back and forth, you can visually see how many times it has covered a room. It sometimes is finicky if you pick it up, so you might need to have it "return to dock" and then resume but those have been few and far between. I think I have only used my regular vacuum once in the past 6 months because of this machine. Drawbacks would have to be no parts for the machine, you cannot find bags anywhere in the world for that matter, it doesn't make sense. Now I am still on my first bag, but it needs to be changed, and you still cannot order them, even from Samsung, this seems to be the biggest complaint. What good is a $1000 vacuum that you cannot get parts for? But once they become available, I would say this is a win!waywardt

Coming from an old school Neato BV85, this "smart" vacuum was a significant upgrade. When I first turned it on, it "mapped" the house and built a floorplan profile. I misunderstood that it would be building the floorplan while it vacuumed as my old vacuum did, but it instead drove the entire house and used its LIDAR to map the floors. I messed up because I closed some doors that I didn't want it to vacuum at the moment so those rooms didn't get mapped. After I figured out what was going on, I watched the mapping occur real time on my phone, it was quite impressive and very accurate. I later learned that if I had let it map the entire house, I could forbid those areas from being vacuumed whenever I wanted to, so I should have let it map. I'll just have to redo it at some point. The vacuum worked well, was very quiet, and did the whole house on a single charge. It did return to empty its dust bin several times mostly due to the immense amount of dog hair. This is a nice feature. Overall it did well, and was very quiet. Only noticed two things that my old Neato seemed to do better. The Samsung has no side cleaning spin brush to get up close to the baseboard like my Neato. It still seemed to do OK, but it missed a few small spots because of this. Secondly, due to the way the sensors work, it would not get up close when it made a turn around an outside corner. It would angle in and then drive and hit, then back up and try again until it got straightened out. Bottom line is that it wouldn't get close to the wall for about the first foot after it went around an outside corner. I think the software algorithm can be updated over time to improve this. I like the vacuum and really like the WiFi features, I didn't think I would this much.Nextelspe

The robot works really well and is easy to use. The mop is good if you want a light clean since no soap can be used. I like that the dust bin is large and holds a good amount of dust and dirt before having to dispense. I am still learning to use the Mi Home app properly so it can map my home but overall I am happy with my purchase.V

Vacuum works great but it gets stuck under the fridge and dishwasher which I dont like. It senses the stairs so that was good. Didnt mop to good and it got stuck even more mopping than it does vacuuming. The app works ok but needs improvement with features and commands should have both for vacuum and mopping.queenvq

We were so excited about this being our first robot vacuum.. unfortunately it was a horrible experience. First it gets stock on everything, dishwasher , couch, chair. Secondly, it has no radar it runs into everything and then adjusts but doesn’t remember it for future cleans. Thirdly, the mop feature doesn’t work as efficient as it makes it seem. Then after we settled with all those problems it started shorting out just 20 days after purchase. Thankfully we can still return and get another brand. Not a quality product.Connor

I bought my DEEBOT 500 about two months ago to clean our two bedroom apartment. I have been totally amazed with the cleaning this thing does. In the summer time we are only home two days a week and the rest of the time we spend at camp! When I first started running the DEEBOT I ran it the day after we were home. When we came back I could not believe how much lint type dirt was in the collection bin. Then we ran it again after our second trip and it collected just as much dirt again. I did this routine for about three weeks and by this time it was collecting very little dirt. So now I am running it once a week and it still picks up some dirt! It does a very good job around the outside edge of the rooms as you can follow the tracks. I have moved stuff we have had on the carpet for a while and the carpet was very pushed down and when we came home it was as if we never had anything there. The vacuum pulls the carpet back up and it looks very good. When I bought it my wife rolled her eyes. Now she rolls her eyes because of the great job the DEEBOT does!waynekel69

I've had this deebot 500 for about three months. It does a great job cleaning – you can tell by the amount of dirt you empty out of it. I'm sure alot also comes from under furniture that would be hard to get to with the regular vacuum. The problem is the robot gets tangled in any cords, wires, or cables which might be in its path. It also gets stuck on the feet of my modern sofa which has wire horizontal design. On small threshold between room it goes right down the 1/2 inch gap but then gets stuck trying to come back up it. You do need to rearrange furniture sometimes so it can get to all the areas you want cleaned (move dining room chairs so it gets under table, move stools from under countertops). I've also found that the spining brushes have tangled in carpet fibers on a low pile carpet in my basement so I won't use it there. Its a handy device as long as you babysit it. I can understand the premium for robots that allow for mapping or better learning. Maybe next time I'll try a more advanced model.HudsonValleyDeebotUser

I bought this robot base on all the great reviews everyone gave it and it worked great ….. for only 2 weeks! After 2 weeks it would only go about 3-5 ft and then it will automatically stop and do a180 degree turn and go the opposite way (I have hardwood floors). Basically it kept doing this and it really didn't go anywhere. There were nothing near the robot when it was running. Called Ecovac support team, sent my new deebot to them and they replaced it with a "refurbished" deebot. After using the "refurbished" deebot for a couple of weeks now, I'm having the same issue. There's has to be some type of manufacturing defect with this model. There's no way 2 different robots will have the same issue unless there's a defect somewhere internally ….. as of right now I'm still waiting for tech support to get back to me on this 2nd unit. If I can get a refund (probably ain't gonna happen) I'm taking my money and purchasing a different brand as this robot is unreliable. Bottom line not worth the money or the hassle. Spend your money elsewhere or purchase a manual vacuum and do it yourself.Deadbot1234
