I know the title of this review sounds annoying because yeah…of course crystal sugar doesn’t dissolve in cold water, it never does. But the size of the crystals as well as the remaining amount of tea powder sediment at the bottom of my cup is substantial enough that I thought it was worth mentioning. Maybe if the crystals were smaller it would dissolve quicker and maybe I just need to give it a few more good shakes to get it all dispersed. First I tried it with hot water only, and it tasted slightly bitter the way matcha is supposed to, but also had little chunks of the coconut milk still floating on top of the water. If you have used coconut-based dairy alternatives before, you’ll know what I mean. Quality is great, powder is green with larger white chunks that are the coconut. Won’t be repurchasing and I likely won’t even finish this packet. It’s a shame because I really enjoy matcha otherwise. Next time I’ll buy just plain matcha without the additives/sweeteners. Also, as many have mentioned, the packaging is just horrific. No way to keep it closed and the product fresh. Size wise – you get a good amount, but I really cannot get past that taste. I buy this stuff in bulk! The Lakanto Matcha green tea drink has been a part of my morning coffee routine for years! I start by blending the Lakanto mix with beef collagen, cinnamon & maca root then I add a heaping spoonful to black coffee with ghee & MCT oil. I blend with hand mixer and it's the only way to start my day. The best part is that it's delicious. Sure, it's incredibly healthy, but it's also something I look forward to drinking because I enjoy the taste. Before I started drinking this, probably 25% of my daily sugar intake came from coffee. When I tried quitting sugar before I discovered Lakanto, I always failed and artificial sweeteners always had that gross taste. It wakes me up, gives me a burst of clarity and energy and I'm not hungry until one o'clock. I've lost weight, have more energy to exercise regularly, my hair, skin & nails look great. PS This recipe also taste great with tea!
taste artificial, not what i expected. I regret to buy this product not seeing the ingredient, such a good brand like making the most worthy buying product the mond fruit sugar, but some of their products adding the 'nature flavour', means artificial. I really like the Lakanto drinking cocoa and I also really enjoy matcha lattes, so I was glad to try this product. To me, the green tea taste is not strong enough. Also, I am a bit concerned the product contains sugarcane fiber as a thickener, and virtually all sugarcane grown in the US is non-organic. If they want to use sugarcane fiber in this very expensive product, I would prefer they formulate with organic. The product does have a very nice consistency when mixed with just water.iHerb Customer

Matcha Certified Organic Matcha Tea came in a 16 ounce can with a plastic lid and sealed inside with a foil covering that you lift off with the tab. I didn’t pull mine all the way off as I am leaving it in place for extra protection for freshness. The front label logo states “matcha DNA”. On the side and back of the label, it gives instructions how to make it and a warning “DO NOT EXCEED 1 TEASPOON PER CUP”. It has all the pertinent info regarding the producer/distributor (Made in China), as well as their “philosophy”. The expiration date is stamped on the bottom of the can. There are also the seals from 6 organizations such as USDA, etc. It is 100% pure organic matcha, which is “finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves”. It can be consumed for drinking (hot or iced), ceremony, lattes, cappuccinos, smoothies and baking. I had a cup of hot Matcha with my dinner, ½ teaspoon per 12 ounces of hot water. It has a pleasant taste to it. It’s not really strong and I didn’t need to add any sweetener or milk to it. I have avoided trying Matcha, even though I like green tea, go figure, however, now that I have tried it, I will certainly partake of it regularly. I have been drinking this every day since I received the product. The measuring spoon that comes with the can is a teaspoon, and not 1/2 teaspoon as the servings recommended on the can. I put one teaspoon into my blending cup, add my powder Stevia and add 4 ounces hot water and then use my blend stick to mix all ingredients (see pictures). After blending, I pour into my 30 ounce tumbler and add 20 ounces of cold water. Sometimes I add milk too. You can add ice cubes should you want it colder. I have also made it with cold milk too after blending the 4 ounces hot water with the Matcha. Later, when weather gets colder will probably make hot Latte Matcha Green tea. But until then I enjoy drinking this cold every day. It actually taste like tea to me and a lot easier to deal with than my other teas I have made. I have no bitter taste with it at all. Having received Matcha certified organic green tea powder, in my search for healthy nutritional green tea benefits, I stumbled upon something quite 'foreign' to my past experiences with green tea. Little did I know that this powerful powder is said to have been used in ancient times by warriors to give them strenth and stamina in battle. And the spiritual leaders supposedly used in in rituals to help 'enhance' their mental powers and have a calming effect. Well, since I just got it, I can only report my first experience, and I do feel that it gave me a 'pick me up' that allowed me to get some things done that I did not expect. Having said all of that, it is from China and there is a warning about lead in it, and suggestions that only certain amounts be used in each day. It tastes pretty bad, too, so be prepared. When I peeled back the aluminum covering under the plastic lid, a strange 'fog' seemed to rise up out of the can about 6 inches, a thick green almost like smoke from a smouldering fire. took me aback for a moment. The adventurous person that I am, got a grip on myself and mixed a scoop with hot water, as instructed, stirring briskly until appearing to have disolved into a dark, murkey looking liquid, and gulped it down. Not for the faint of heart. You can add milk and stevia, which I did. But still, it was tough for me to swallow. I will use it again, however, to see what benefits come from taking it.petunias4me

I have never used this tea before not until now. I tried it both hot and cold before I left this review. I think the sea is sort of interesting I mean the taste. It is just unique something I have never had before. I don’t hate it nor do I love the taste. I think I could get used to it though. My mom drank it and said it was OK. She also said she had to drink it a bit more to get to used to it. The smell is OK. The look is OK. The texture is OK. So far I’m 50/50 on everything. I can say that it tastes better hot than cold. I was so excited to try making this at home, because I frequently get matcha green tea lattes at coffee shops. This matcha powder comes directly from farms in Japan. It is very high quality of course, and the taste is fantastic. I think it does take a little practice to learn how to make these lattes, but I am confident that I will get better at it. There are some very helpful videos on the company website, and it was cool to see the many ways you can choose to make matcha tea.
