Finding the perfect bike rack for your Lexus RX350 can seem like a daunting task. With so many options on the market, it’s hard to know where to begin. The most important factors to consider are your biking needs, budget, and ease of use.
Before making a purchase, ask yourself: How often will you use the rack? Do you transport bikes for a family or just yourself? What road and weather conditions will the rack encounter? How much storage space can you sacrifice? Does the model need to lock bikes in place? Weighing criteria like these will narrow the field.
The search for the ideal bike rack also leads to other questions. Does the rack easily attach to the vehicle’s hitch, or does it require special parts? How much assembly or installation is required? Can the rack be tilted or folded when not in use? How much ground clearance does it allow? Taking the time to answer these questions will ensure you select a rack that checks all your boxes.
With a little research and some self-reflection, you’ll be able to confidently choose the perfect bike rack solution for your Lexus RX350. The ideal option will provide security, convenience, and ease of use while meeting your budget and needs. Before long, you’ll be hauling bikes with no worries.

Reviews:
I have recently purchased this product. More than I wanted to spend on a Hitch rack, but it has proved worth the price. I am very happy with the sturdy construction and the hitch tongue locking mechanism. The Pro's strong well put together, thoughtful design and easy swing away to open the hatch. Straps work well, as with anything you have a learning curve with putting them on and taking them off. When you have them on, they hold very well. I'm not sure about some of the things I have read about the straps, but they are a far better design than most racks in this range and they seem strong enough. The rack itself is built like a brick, very little sway as long as you have the bikes secure on the rack. Easy to utilize once you have put the straps on which is another learning curve. I typically hold two cruisers and I use the straight rods to secure on the rack. I would not be afraid to carry my bikes long distances and I will be doing this very soon. Cons, heavier than you think. Straps are a little tricky to put on and to secure bikes to (again learning curve) Caution when putting bikes on the first position as you have to get the frame through the latches. Can scratch up frames, but each carrier I have owned has lead to some scratches.Mack
I bought this rack in April 2020. There were four of us in lockdown, we all had bikes, and we needed a way to transport them if we wanted a change of scenery. The rack has been a mainstay ever since. Works just like advertised. The swing function is great. Installation is straightforward. Love the locking cable for added security when out and about with the bike on the rack. I read through many of the 1 star reviews as I am recommending this to a neighbor who asked me for the model. The only conclusions I can come up with for the poor reviews are (in order of decreasing likelihood): 1. User error 2. Newer ones are not made as well 3. I lucked out and got a peach instead of a lemon. Obviously, my vote is user error. It does take some effort to lock the stem into the trailer hitch but it is solid for me. Make sure you buy the correct sized product for your hitch. You do have to turn a couple of handle bars 90 degrees when loading up 4 adult mountain bikes. Have never had a problem with the straps. They are easy to use and keep the bike secure. Bottom line: my expectations were exceeded and I have over two years of regular usage with the utmost satisfaction.swmbkrn63
I got the product shortly after I ordered from Thule. Assembly is not very difficult, although there is a step missing as they don't tell you to use the flat key the first time that you need to insert the locks. Functionality is a mixed bag for two reasons: 1. the straps that keep the bikes on the rack are SUPER HARD to operate. You kind of need to choose between leaving them half loose at the risk of the bike falling on the highway or tightening the straps and being stuck as you will not be able to undo them later. I am considering throwing the straps in the garbage and replacing them with bungee cords. 2. The big feature of this "swing away" feature is that you can open the full trunk, unobstructed. This is true, except that when you are done and need to connect the arm back on the hitch, the sheer weight of the bicycles is pushing the arm down and not allowing the main bolt to go back in. You need to be fairly strong and push up the arm + bikes and wiggle with the bolt until you are lucky to find the threaded hole. It takes a ew tries and is a bit exhausting. So paying the extra money to have the swing away feature does not pay off. I would no buy this product again. The positive is that once you are done the bikes stay in place and the thing does not seem to move much.ddgzz

Reviews:
I was looking at racks for twice the price, but someone recommended this to me. It's a great, solid rack for the money. It fits 4 bikes easily and there is a lot of flexibility for adjustment if you have any smaller (i.e. 18-20") bikes. The build quality is excellent, packaged very well and super easy to assemble. The only thing it doesn't do is tilt down for cargo access. For my usage, this is not important to me and can deal with it if it means less parts to break and less weight. Many of the other 4-bike racks are pushing 60-80 lbs. This one is like 40lbs and you can move it around for storage really easily where it doesn't take up much space. Highly recommend this rack!Markos
Everything was as ordered.Greg S.
I saw this bike rack mounted on someone's car and decided to buy it. I like that the rack is lightweight, comes with a hitch lock and folds up when not in use. I would have like it if the rack came with a way to secure the bikes, but can use a regular bike lock if needed. Great price too!Olga Cotto

Reviews:
We were a bit apprehensive at first, not necessarily with the bike trailer, but more or less with the 1.25 hitch that we had to opt for as the dealership misinformed us on the size of hitch compatible with outback.I am happy to report we have had no problems with the sturdiness of this bike trailer as we were afraid the 1.25 would result in a wobbly outcome. As other reviews mentioned the trailer itself was a bit difficult to assemble. However once assembled and loaded it was exactly what we needed. We are comfortably and securely able to load our 2 Trek bikes and have no problem with the arms or straps. The only complaint is the thickness of the pin used to lock the trailer to the hitch. Could use a better pin something a bit thicker and sturdier for it to feel very secure.JAAM
First off, I'll mention that assembly was a bit harder than I thought it would be. The long bolts connecting the two pieces of frame together took a bit of finesse (and a rubber mallet) to get them to slide in and line up properly. It helps if you take the part of the frame where they screw in (on the outer rail) off first and line that up separately. Once I figured that out, the rest was a breeze. I really like the ease of use with this thing – bikes go on and off in just minutes. Way easier than it used to be trying to squeeze them into my car. I also enjoy how light it is, and how quickly it comes on and off the hitch. Although the price is a bit high, it is well-made and worth it. Highly recommend.Nate
There are things I like about this rack, but I think it's quite overpriced for what it is. I found it easy to attach to the hitch and I like the overall design – the arms feel secure, I like being able to fold the rack easily, and it does hold my bike well. I was also able to use the farthest rack position as a makeshift bike stand while I did some work on the chain, which was handy since I don't have my own stand. However, for this price point, I expect more than to have to use my own cheap Velcro strap to secure a mountain bike with average/slightly wide tires. I'm not using some kind of niche fat or cargo bike here – why doesn't the Kuat come with an integrated, high-quality strap for this purpose or better yet, a design that doesn't require that extra step at all? I also find the ratchet strap for securing the rear tire to be poorly placed. You can't get the bike on the rack without crunching the strap down and having to yank it out from under the tire manually, which is definitely increasing wear and tear already. Finally, the lock that comes with the rack for securing the rack to the hitch felt very cheap and online reviews suggest it can be broken very easily (a problem when you live in a high-theft area, which is not Kuat's fault), but it did lead to an extra cost to buy a more secure lock. Long story short, I'm glad I have the rack and it gets the job done, but it's premium pricing for an average/good product. I can't give a 4 or 5 star review when the value is skewed like that. Highly recommend waiting until this goes on major sale.liz4500

Having fenders is no problem, Just drop the arm just in front of the Fender. My E-Bike is 55 lbs & this rack has no problem supporting the weight. Loading my bike is very fast & easy. The front cradle holds the front tire securely & the rear tire sits in a shallow channel. Kuat does offer a ramp witch would make this process even easier. The integrated cable locks are a good way to lock your bike during transport. The Rack over all fills heavy duty & solidly built. Cosmetically it’s very beautifully painted too. Cons, The key hole to the Cable locks has a little spring loaded cover in the hole. So you have to put the key in at a angle to push it out of the way. It took me a Minet to figure that out.Mike
Ok, I love my biking and hate my bike racks. To say that most are put together with string and bailing wire is an understatement. I had one brand that was so top heavy that I honestly thought I would lose my bikes along the highway somewhere. That is until I bought the Kuat from REI. Expensive!!!! I bought the NV and then the doubler so I could have 4 bikes at once. I have been beyond impressed with this rack. Solid, stable, easy to use and very secure. Every part of this rack has been thought out and engineered to perfection. I know this sounds kind of over the top for a review but as a dentist, I look for details and precision in everything. This delivers in spades. I cannot say enough good things about it. So just suck up the price and appreciate the incredible quality that you are going to get for the money.DrKK
Trek Farley 5.0 (large frame) with 27.5 x 4.5 tires (Bontrager Gnarwhal Fat Bike Tire). Kuat phat bike kit installed. Cradles in lowest position. The ratchet arm will not come over the top of the tire without leaning the bike, swinging the arm up, then centering the bike/tire under the arm. Attached is the video Kuat sent me. This metjod is fine for one bike, but with 2+ bikes that need to be leaned, the other bikes get in the way. Kuat support says "Unfortunately at this time we do not have a solution". It seems like a nice rack otherwise, but Kuat's specs are misleading.Stephen K

Reviews:
I have owned many bike racks and without a doubt this is best one ever. It is very well designed and manufactured. When I get both bikes on, I feel confident they are firmly attached and I don't find myself always looking in the rear view mirror to see if they have been misaligned by the wind and bumps. The bikes, while close to one another, do not rub or bump into one another which is another great feature. I wish I had learned about this rack years ago. As testimony to how well made and designed it is, I was reinstalling our bikes after a ride when I noticed a fellow rider watching me. He came over when I was done and said he had been watching me and was impressed with how easily I installed both bikes. He looked it over and how firmly they were attached and said "this is what I have been looking for forever!" Yep, I know exactly what you mean I said…j.a.
This item has been reviewed a lot and most of what's out there is true. 1.) It's well made and sold at a reasonable price, especially when compared with the bike shop brands. I checked out all the other similarly priced racks, and this one has the best combination of features: straps to hold bike wheels, anti-wobble pin, ratcheting vertical arms. As others have noted, the raised wheel wells improve ground clearance. There are a few reviews that I think are off base, though. Some have complained about excess sway, and I'm pretty sure that what's really going on there is that the supplied allen screws and lock washers are not being tightened all the way. You're not going to be able to get them tightly fastened using the supplied allen wrench. It's too short to really torque down on it. I found that tightening those down hard (using a pipe or something to get more leverage) and using the anti-wobble pin supplied with the rack does the job very well. Second, there are complaints about the rack not having a locking mechanism. I've been using bike racks for 35 years and have never had one that had a locking mechanism. The things are designed to CARRY bikes, not stop someone from stealing them. Solution? Get a cable lock and lock your bike frames to your trailer hitch. If you're a biker you probably already have a lock anyway. If not, you can get one for about $13. Overall, I'm very happy to own this rack, and am very pleased with the price, too.t.
As an avid cyclist, I wanted to purchase a bike rack that would make me feel good about the securement of my expensive road bike when transporting from one place to the next. It was also important for me to break free from the traditional racks that allow your front wheel to spin free while driving potentially damaging your vehicle or the bike. While the price was fair, some of the things I have noticed that need improvement or should have been included in that price point are as follows: – The two bolts that secure the bottom frame to the upward arm while tightened and secured per the directions still allows for significant play of your bike when hitting bumps. Doesn't exactly give me the "warm and fuzzies" while in transit. – The bars that go into the hole to secure the wheel rests and prevent the arms from moving are sometimes difficult to get in and require wiggling the rack to fit perfectly. They have already started rusting after two months of limited usage which is not acceptable for paying $200 for a rack. -The manufacturer should consider putting some kind of cushion or padding on the elbows that secure the frame of your bike in. Otherwise, you're inviting your expensive carbon bike to get scratched, dented or worse. I was able to remedy this by affixing pipe insulation, although this is not the most attractive thing and I feel should be remedied by the manufacturer. I would welcome hearing from the manufacturer.R.M.B.

Reviews:
After going through 2 hitch racks thanks to being rear ended 4-5 times (big vehicles apparently can't see low hitch racks when parking, or just people in DC can't drive…), I was giving up on bike racks for my car. I had previously been told due to my Ford Focus' spoiler, a trunk rack was out, but then this model was released! I bought it, and am pleased to say it completely cleared the spoiler, with room to spare. We've also used it on my friend's 2017 BWM X3. It does not completely clear the spoiler due to the MUCH larger trunk size, but it does take pressure off the top straps and per Saris, shouldn't cause damage. A thing to note with 3 bike racks–they are a bit like tetris since the bikes sit so close. If you have 3 bikes, identically sized, all with racks and fenders… they may not fit without racks/fenders coming off and some weird maneuvering. On our last trip, we had 2x 54 cm bikes with racks, and 1 58 cm bike with no rack. The 54s went on the outside and inside, with the larger 58 cm bike in the middle. Handlebars crisscrossed over each other, around tires, and the racks. Rags and bungee cords were deployed to keep bar tape safe from rubbing on tires. So it WILL work. It might just take some time to get it right.Emm85
NOTE: You will need bungee cords or straps (not included) to keep your bikes' front wheels from moving around. I bought this after I had to start borrowing a car that did not have a hitch. I wanted a bike rack that was more versatile than my hitch-mount bike rack — something I could use on most cars. The Saris Bones EX fit the bill. I bought one of these and had to return it for another one due to Saris' poor quality control. A Committed To Quality card with a hand-initialed QC Check is included with each rack but the QC checks aren't being properly done. Even though they were brand new, the first one smelled like cigarette smoke and was really dirty. It was also missing one of the two strap management caps. The second one didn't have those problems but the ratchets were installed incorrectly so I had to redo them. The included instructions aren't very detailed so having the ratchets installed incorrectly added to the confusion of mounting this rack for the first time. The Saris rack is fairly sturdy but not as sturdy as my hitch-mount rack. But I guess that's to be expected of just about any trunk-mount rack. Still, I was disappointed to discover my bicycle, a Priority Continuum Onyx, didn't mount completely flush against the rack. The bicycle has a relatively standard frame but the seat tube has about an inch of space between it and where the hold down is attached to the rack. The hold down keeps it somewhat sturdy but there is that inch of space for movement. It seems like Saris could easily redesign the seat tube hold downs to better secure a wider range of bike frame geometries. The bike rack fit a 2018 Honda Fit well and it appears to be able to fit quite a wide variety of vehicle shapes. Overall, despite Saris' quality control problems and my bike not fitting snugly, I still recommend this bike rack due to it's ability to fit a wide range of car shapes.Sammy
The installation was so easy after an installation video. Is very sturdy with no shaking. Won't scratch at all. There was one concern then another arose after my 1-hour drive. First, I was not sure how easy it would be to steal this trunk rack. And, would love for this company to maybe provide a latch locking system because after I press to release the upper and all cords, it comes off easily. Second, the bike small strap furthest to the front crack right off. I thought it was too close to the end with nowhere for the bike to slide if the latch belt buckle strap was to break. So, mine broke and the bike held on by the last to latches. I would definitely buy a cord to secure the last two to prevent from bike falling off. I would want to exchange and extra cables and for it not to break so easily.miriam

This rack is well made with heavy gauge steel. Initial set up for our bikes only took about 10 minutes. After that loading/unloading is very quick. I bought the dedicated lock/cable kit. The locking hitch bolt really helped to tighten the rack on the hitch once tightened down (class 3 Curt hitch). I have only used it once but it is quite secure on the highway with minimal movement. The tilt feature allowed my CR-V hatch to clear the mounted bikes to access the cargo area.Donald

This bike rack is built strong and sturdy. I was looking for one that odd shaped bikes would fit, and be easy for my wife to use on the back of our car. This unit is really sturdy, and fits the bill perfectly. Good quality. Only negative is how far it sticks out from the back of the car, but what do you expect in a 4 bike carrier. I wish it had an accessory number plate holder. I wish it had the option for LED lights/indicators to plug into trailer plug. (as an accessory if people want/not).adamran74

This was a bit challenging to put together, and needs an adapter to keep it from rattling and moving around in the hitch receiver. That was an easy fix. Haven't used it on any long trips or rough roads. Hope it holds up. I like the design.Lauren H.

I needed a hitch rack for my 2012 Prius V ants after much searching and blog reading I decided to find the Beta-2. Luck would be on my side and I found the rack at a great price at OutdoorPlay. Shipped free and got it quickly. The Beta-2 works great , easy to use, store, and solid. Never knew of Kuat before this but I would recommend them to anyone looking for this type of bike rack.Tracy
Well built, nicely coated, no wiggle! Drove two bikes from NJ to NC with zero concern. I would strongly suggest other buying this bike rack – read a robust review from switch back travel and trusted other purchases based on their reviews and am incredibly pleased. Please note this bike mount has a hitch stabilizer so the whole rack keeps secure.Kelly
The rack was easy to assemble and the bikes went on easy as well. The rack looks great and is lightweight. I have not taken the bikes for a drive yet but look forward to doing so.Bryan

I bought two of these after my roof rack and 599 big mouth bike holders were damaged by a tractor trailer. I own a small minivan, mazda 5, and the rack is just high enough that I can just reach so there's always the potential for some difficulty putting a bike up there and this carrier exacerbates the issue. Without a decent tray the front wheel wants to turn and fall off requiring the fork to be held while leaning the bike to get the clamp past the stays and crank, but if the tray is remotely damp the rear wheel will slip out instead. The big issue is the tray really doesn't keep the wheels in place. I've since bought replacement 599s with proper trays and use these two as backups, I've had a lot of thule over the years but with the tray style these use, they're awfulruss
I am an avid cyclist and have used Thule products over the years along with others but keep coming back to Thule. My cycling has moved away from straight road and mountain biking towards gravel cycling. This rack is excellent all the way around and works well with a little prep; put the pedal facing you at the 4-5 o'clock position, push the straps behind the wheel holders, lift the arm up to about 40 degrees. I grab the seat tube and front fork on my BMC Road Machine and it goes right up and drops into place. I don't worry about it either as its stable as a rock at 70mph on the highway and off road at least up to our drop in points. I would not have mountain my prior mountain bike up top…its just too heavy for me to navigate…fit for purpose…hitch mount. It is sad to read the review where the bike shop installed this rack on a Subaru Crosstrek incorrectly, yea read and follow the simple instructions if you are going to mount it driver's side [reverse the jaw/holding arm first…]. Not that difficult. The jaw always opens facing you. In my opinion for a roof rack that lets you keep your front wheel on, especially those of us with Thru Axle's its the best. Keep ridin!MadmanXWater
The pro ride XT is slick and holds onto the bike very tight. It is very easy to use when you actually read the instructions and put it onto the right side! Who knew?! And when lined up properly and tightened right it had no wobble cruising at 100km/h and 80km/h with winds, other than small shakes. Very impressed. Unfortunately It seems THULE decided that security should cost so you have to but the locks separately which just added to the already huge price. But it should last me a long time. It comes with T-slot adapters and square bar too so it can be used on different rigs. Also it grabs meaty MTB tires with room to spare. She's a banger of a rig overall. That guy with a kona

AWESOME, well built. One of few racks that can handle 3 bikes on CLASS 1 hitch without voiding a cars warranty. I wanted to carry three bikes on a class one car hitch without voiding potentially the car warranty. Only the Thule Helium 3 bike and the Saris Bones 3 bike fit the bill as both are very light weight. The Thule is made in aluminum and the Saris is only 16lbs I believe. Tongue weight capacity on a car is usually around + or – 200lbs. Thus if rack weightsstephanegti
First of all, despite the issues I have with this rack, it is a good rack that requires a degree of faith when fitted but after 4 hrs with a bike fitted I have not had a problem. My first issue was when building it. At first the instructions seem ok but they are not precise enough and, as I found out, it is very easy to fit a part the wrong way round. Secondly one of the bolt holes was not pre drilled so had to do that myself. Fitting the rack to the car was simple enough and only takes five minutes to do. The front wheel element has two settings, standard & 29". My mountain bike has 27.5" wheels and did not fit the standard setting so I have to use the 29" option. For me this was not an issue but I recently came across a Facebook post where some with the same size wheel and tyre could not get his bike to fit unless he deflated his tyre. My final issue is its size, it is big and doesn't collapse at all for storage, surely they could design some way of making it easier to store? Despite my gripes I do like the rack, especially the upright design meaning the bike doesn't poke out of the side of the car ( especially in lanes on the way to my favourite trails!) and you don't need a light board. It is definitely worth looking up the road test video to see how much movement there is and what it can cope with.Jontym
I use this rack on a 2009 Toyota Venza. I had trouble finding a rack to even fit my car (as I have no trailer hitch) that would carry two bikes, and this fits the bill. I am pleased with the rack overall. I did have to purchase a separate part from Saris to use with my Venza. You can't use the metal clips on the window on the side (there's no metal around the sides of my rear window), so I had to buy different straps with little foam cylinders to go inside the window. It would have been nice if those had been included. As another reviewer noted, no matter how I crank down those bottom straps, they keep coming undone from the bottom of the hatch and flopping around. I don't think it makes the rack less stable, because it's really being held in place by the top and side straps, but it's really annoying. The other modification I had to make, and this isn't really the fault of Saris, is that, because I have an Electra Townie, it doesn't fit perfectly in the rack. Because it's a pedal forward design, the bike has a longer base than a regular bike. It rests _almost on_ on the bottom holder but the included strap wouldn't quite fit. I bought a small nylon buckle-style dog collar, and it works well. My car is kind of tall, although it's not as tall as a regular SUV, and I'm 5'5". My bike and my son's bikes are not super lightweight, and it took some time before I was very good at getting those bikes up there. It can be kind of unwieldy and a bit of a knuckle-buster, especially for a woman, to load. I think I've gotten pretty smooth at it now, and it's a good opportunity to work on that upper body strength, but if you've got a bad back, you want to think twice. I don't want this to sound like a negative review…it's not. I do like the Gran Fondo, and I don't know what I would have done without it. Not have a bike rack at all, I guess. It looks cool, it fits my car, I feel confident that my bikes aren't going to fly off the back of the car on the highway, and I can load it myself. But it wasn't pop it on the car and done.Marcia
13. Swagman Semi 2.0 Hitch Bike Rack
Product Details:
The semi 2.0 platform-style hitch rack was designed to accommodate premium carbon-fiber bikes and other high value bikes. it is a no frame contact bike rack. instead of grabbing the bike by its frame, like many hitch-mount bike racks on the market, the semi 2.0's pivoting arms with ratcheting hooks tightly grip the bike by the front wheel. the back wheel is secured with a ratchet strap that will hold the bike in place. what sets this rack apart from others is its cam lever located at the base of the rack. the cam lever allows the rack to easily be put into its desired position. in its parallel position the rack is at a reasonable height for loading bikes. when not in use, the bike rack will fold up against the vehicle. even while loaded, this rack has the ability to tilt back to allow rear access to the vehicle. the semi 2.

My first hitch mounted bike rack. Just retired and hoping for more rides, rails to trail trips etc. It was easy to assemble, but I suggest that you save yourself trouble by making sure you read each step and be sure before you tighten any bolts. I think it would have been hard to do it wrong though. Once assembled, easy to mount on the hitch receiver. Getting the bikes on and off is simple and quick. The tilt-down function works well so we can open the hatch to the Subaru Forester even with the bikes loaded. And it folds up and locks into place easily when not used. There were racks that were MUCH more expensive, but not sure it would have been worth it. This one seems more than adequate.Robert P
This bike rack is the best!! Simple to use and works best for no to scratch your bike!Carlos G
We recently upgraded to carbon bikes and searched for a hitched platform rack that didn't secure the bikes to the frame to avoid possible carbon cracking. While I ended up purchasing this rack, a coworker was simultaneously ordering a 1UP bike rack from the US. I would have ordered the 1UP if not for the steep price, delivery charge, extra accessories and poor Canadian dollar. Needless to say, the Swagman met and exceeded my expectations except for a couple of areas: 1. the rack is pretty heavy and you can throw your back out when installing and taking it off the hitch as it's made with hollow steel members. 2. It doesn't collapse which makes storage and transporting the rack very awkward and uncomfortable for one person to carry. With these 2 negatives aside, the rack is very solid and takes seconds to secure bikes and does so without touching the frame. It has some included security features that include locks and wires which is a good deterrence but we wouldn't leave our bikes unattended for too long on the rack. We also really appreciate the tilt feature, that allows the rack to tilt away from the vehicle so the rear door to our CUV can fully open while the bikes are on the rack. We have taken our bikes on the highway and on bumpy city streets with minor potholes and it stood the test of time. If you don't plan to take the rack off and on your hitch frequently, you can simply pivot the rack vertically for the riding season then take off later. It's a well made, solid rack that gets the job done that's the best bang for your buck that I could find when compared to other platform, no touch frame hitch racks at the expense of its weight. We have a 2" hitch and used the included 2" adapter and the rack was rock solid. If you can afford paying almost double, I would recommend the 1UP, otherwise this is a great value.
14. Kuat Transfer V2 3-Bike 2" Hitch Rack
Product Details:
When it's thursday afternoon before the three-day stage race, or if you are punching the clock to hit a weekend of alpine single-track with your crew, the kuat transfer 3 bike rack sets the travel off well with easy loading and frame-less contact. the transfer set itself apart not only in value but also convenience, as its u-shape allows you to step into it, instead of to the side when loading. and the perfect fit system ensures that each bike has a relatively custom fit as the wheel trays can swivel and adjust to better fit wheelbases and handlebar widths. when loading, roll up to the back of the car, kick down the spring-loaded foot pedal, lock the tray down for loading, and place your bike on the trays. the tire trays fit 20-29in tires, so there's no hassling with initial positioning. a front claw-like lever arm holds the top of the wheel in place, and a simple ratcheting strap secures the rear wheel in place.
Reviews:
Just got this rack to give as a gift, but I put it together and have mounted and tested it, and the Transfer V2 reflects all the qualities that I've experienced with Küat products. I already have two Küat racks (NV 2.0 and old-style Sherpa), plus a roof basket (Vagabond X), and even some other Küat stuff like the bottle-cage locks ( a great and handy product, and all of mine still work beautifully). Everything I've ever gotten from them has proven to be the most innovative products on the market, well-designed, and built with the highest degree of quality and durability. I don't even bother to look elsewhere for racks – They're simply the best by every measure. Even on those rare occasions when I've had to seek support for a product, their help has been exactly on target, and the people whom I've talked to have always been super friendly and have gotten whatever I needed to me right away – So in addition to everything else I've mentioned, even their customer service in my experience is unexcelled. The rack I use depends on the bikes I'm carrying. So I use my Küats to carry everything from road bikes to a Stumpjumper 650B fatty to a 29er hardtail to Specialized Jett 20" kids bikes, handsome others in between… My racks are the quickest and simplest to mount and use, the sturdiest, and the most secure under all conditions, from highway to rugged 4WD off-road, for any bikes I want to carry. Period.Richard K
Had this rack for about a month. We use it daily to transport our bikes to safe riding locations. I had been looking for a 3 bike rack and having no luck…till I stumbled on this rack at Moosejaw. This thing is a beast. I love how it folds out of the way, securely holds the bikes and zero play in the hitch. Highly recommend!Travis
Purchased the Transfer V2 in May as i wanted a rack for the back of our Airstream that was rated for RV use that I could transfer to my truck when I got to camping locations. Previously had a rack that the bicycles hung from the crossbar. This rack really locks the bikes down and limits movement while traveling. Also the cam lock works well in that there is no movement in the rack once it is torqued down to 18 ft-lbs. Have traveled over 4000 miles and have had no problems. Well made rack. Highly recommendBy Gerry

We have two KBO e-bikes (about 58 pounds each with batteries removed) and have used the Thule rack for long (500+miles) and short (in-town) hauls. The professional installer of our hitch gave us a hands-on tutorial of how the EasyFold rack works, which was really helpful. We were novices at bike racks, but after just a few uses, we're now confident and proficient. I appreciate the ramps, but generally don't use them because it's simply easier to lift our bikes into place on the rack. We know exactly where to position the arms and place the pedals for easy tie-down. The bikes are really secure when put properly into place with the arm clamps and tire straps. The rack folds easily for storage, either in the back of our Honda CRV or in our small apartment. When folded, the wheels on the rack are a nice touch to use rather than carrying. We love the ability to lock the arms and hitch in place for security when parked. This rack was a great purchase for us.Orange Crush
Bought this because it is rated for the weight of e-bikes and one of the few racks that can handle a heavy bike with fenders. But the rack is awkward. Even though the clamps can move around the inverted-U-shaped mount, the rigid arm of the clamp doesn't offer enough mounting options on the bike frame — especially if your e-bike has a thick down-tube. If you have water bottle holder(s), a pump, or any other accessories mounted in the internal triangle of the bike (e.g., on the downtube or seat tube), it will interfere with positioning the clamps. This difficulty is compounded when trying to carry two bikes that have accessories mounted in the internal triangle. This rack has some cool design features. But it lacks the kind of flexibility that an over-the-tire clamp can offer fender-less bikes. It is the best rack out there I can find for an e-bike. But this is not the nicest rack I've ever used.HelmetHead
This is the best bike rack I have owned. In fact, I'll be selling my 1-Up system to purchase a second Thule EasyFold for a second vehicle. Why? 1) The Easyfold is compact. Compared to other bike racks, the Thule folds nicely for storage as well as for managing it when putting on and taking off the vehicle. Yes, like any bike rack it protrudes from the hitch, but it's impossible to have a hitch-mounted bike rack that doesn't protrude. I like that the rack can be folded out of the range of the rear sensors when not carrying bikes. 2) It's durable. When bikes are mounted following Thule's instructions, they will not come off the rack. The gripper is strong, but you must position it correctly on the frame and twist clockwise until you hear it click. Once those things are done, it will not allow the bike to unmount accidentally. 3) The built-in locks are nice, one to keep the hitch secure and two to keep the bikes secure. I still lock with a Kryptonite chain when parked for long periods of time with the bikes on back, but the Thule locks keep the bikes secure from attempted thefts.

i like the design and features. the only thing i would do different is make all the handles locking (just to keep someone from removing or vibrating off on a long trip when not all saddles are in useJOHN H
Really nice product once you put it all together. But when I hooked it up to my pick-up, and got on the road that's when the trouble started. Any little bump or swerve and this thing sways back and forth (agressively) to the point where the bikes were banging into eachother. I pulled over to check it out and my tailgate had scratches all over it from the bike pedals being slammed into it. I had used the safety strap that came with it (which was as tight as I could make it) and I had even purchased the swagman hitch stabilizer, which obviously had no effect. So in the end I just took it off, threw it and the bikes in the back of my truck and continued down the road. Very disappointed considering the amount of money I had spent.
Good rack that's easy to remove. Folding part is difficult to use. Don't lose any of the knobs, especially the locking ones. They are hard to replace, the swagman locking knobs model 64008 is not compatible.scottt57

19. Thule Proride 598
Product Details:
The easiest way of cycling with the thule proride 598 you can simply take your bike on the roof of the car. at least, if your bike is not heavier than 20 kilograms. this means that almost every road bike and mountain bike can participate. this is ideal if, for example, you want to cycle in the forest or on the beach in the morning – at least a short drive from your house. all that has to be done is to place the bike in the gutter of the thule proride 598. the thule dial lets the user know when the bike is properly secured. with this bike carrier the wheels are fixed (max. 3 inches wide) and the frame. the latter is done by means of a frame clamp. it has rubber surfaces that do not damage the frame, but can be firmly fixed. please note that it only concerns the bike carrier and therefore not the roof racks on the roof of the car.

Reviews:
Purchased these as a car change means I have no tow bar for existing bike rack and these 598 go along with my existing Thule Aero Wing bars we have. Went for this type rather than the other types as they have a “v” clamp which encloses fully around bike frame. First time using – easy assembly of clamp fittings – easily slid onto roof Wing bars and easy to “hook” the bike onto V before turning knob to secure V clamp and then securing wheels with straps. All secured nicely. (I added a short cam strap over front wheel and would probably use a Velcro strap around V fitting for peace of mind). Easy to use with Wing roof bars, easy to place bike onto V (we have a Ford Galaxy so roof quite high but a wee folding step helps a lot) and easily secured using turn knob. Product materials are good.Fairidea
Bought 4 of these – for two adult and two child MTBs. First time I installed / set up, was a bit complicated and took a fair bit of adjustment – I had two bikes facing forwards & two backwards so the handlebars weren't clashing. I had to slide the roof bars/wheel trays around a bit/move bikes forward/back so the straps that hold the wheels in place could pass through their clips (instead of being prevented from going through as the bar was in the way). But after that, went okay. After 2 x 4hr+ motorway journeys, bikes stayed secure. Also fairly easy to remove. Racks seem well made, not too heavy, look nice & fold down easily once the bikes are off. If I had only bought one or two, would have been much easier to fit. No regrets on the actual product, and happy to recommend.Family Bikers
Thule is the name in roof mounted bike racks. The quality you'd expect is there and they hold up well in wind and stop/start driving conditions. The 598 excels in that the jaw of the frame mount completely or almost so encloses around the frame making it very difficult for a would be thief to easily get at your bike. My only complaint is that the locks do not seem to be high quality. Not only are they not colour coded to the keys (which is problematic if you have 3 bikes plus the roof rack lock) but getting the key in and then getting it to hold in place whilst you get your bike on/off can be a pain. Thule needs to sort this. On a tip from the really helpful team at my Halfords I dotted the key and corresponding lock with nail varnish. There is a one-key solution sold but it's another £30 on top of all the money you've already spent and it doesn't seem fair to me. Colour coding their locks to their keys would cost very little. Anyways, lets end on a high note. Very durable, very good, very secure system.FamilyCyclistDad

Reviews:
This rack is relatively light weight for a 4 bike rack. It is sturdy but more than 3 adult bikes might be pushing the weight limit of 100lbs. Typical mountain bikes run 25 plus pounds each. We used this on a Mercedes sedan with a 1 1/2 hitch and you didnt even know the rack or bikes were back there until you looked in the rear view mirror. The anti sway bike mounts worked great. Once well attached the bikes do not move at all. Not so with other well known an more costly racks. I own a few and this is my go to for a get away weekend with the bikes. 100% A good bike rack.jptinman70
