Both sinks in my kids bathroom were clogged. 1 had orbeez in the drain and there was standing water in it & the other had kinetic sand in the drain so it drained slow. I poured one side of the solution directly in the drain & I poured the other side of the solution in the standing water. I let both sit for about 30hrs then poured hot boiling water down both drains 2x & they were both clear & water poured down the drain as a normal sink would. I use a drain cleaner 2-3 a year, usually the red bottle, "D". This brand sounded like a good alternative. It was so easy to use, especially because you just empty one of the chambers into the drain and let it do it's thing. I did not use boiling water to rinse. Ultimately, this product did help. My shower drain was clogged to the point that it took over 24 hours to drain. (By the end, I think it might have been totally stopped.) I tried 16 ounces and I thought maybe it helped a little, so I did another 16 ounces. That seems to help a little more, so I got another bottle and ultimately poured another 80 ounces down (on top of the first 32). Each round seemed to do a little more, and by the end, it was draining in just a few minutes. So it didn't entirely solve the problem, but it did make it a lot better, it just took a lot more than 16 oz. I've also gotten very good results from this in the past for less serious clogs. I think that it does do what it's supposed to, but it takes a lot more than the directions say for serious clogs.STK1

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I purchased Drano max gel clog remover. It says that it is guaranteed to clear packages. I use this on a slow drain that had hair in it. I followed the directions and used approximately half the bottle and waited and then rinsed with hot water. The drain does seem to be running faster now, but I might use the rest of the bottle to clear anything else out. It's a thick liquid with a strong smell so make sure there is ample ventilation. I would purchase this product again.

The instructions on how to use the Drano are very simple and easy to follow. I poured the Drano in my kitchen sink to get the greasy buildup and food pieces out. I let it sit and then poured the hot water down the drain and I noticed the water went down a lot faster than before. I highly recommend this product for a quick and easy fix. Initially I tried white distilled vinegar and baking soda which didn't work; in fact, it made my tub drain even slower! Then I bought Drainbo which is a natural product but it didn't work either because it wasn't strong enough so I returned it to Ace for a full refund. Then I bought Liquid Plumr Hair Eliminator and used it the next day on my very slowwwww draining tub that now took 2 days to completely drain and to my relief, it worked! I read the reviews first and decided to let it sit in my tub drain for 90 minutes instead of the recommended 15 minutes due to how long it took my tub to drain but it might have worked better had I let it sit for 2 hours…then I flushed with hot water which backed up again so I started plunging…and plunging…and plunging some more and then the clog finally cleared! I tried everything for a crazy clog we had… My wife ran cabbage down our garbage disposal, which caused a clog to form around 10-15 feet past the P Trap. It shot cabbage and water up and out of the other drain and up the air gap to our dishwasher… The water filled up our sink and the water level stayed that way until I drained it by removing the P Trap. I used a clog buster, which is an expanding rubber balloon that plunges the pipes, and all it did was loosen my pipes and cause leaks, which I had to tighten. I used a 25 ft auger/snake, which was very difficult to get past the elbows. I had to attach the snake to my power drill, which was ridiculous to use, because it flopped everywhere. The snake got a few chunks but it wasn't doing nearly enough before it kinked too many times. This stuff… I had to use spare pipes to bypass my garbage disposal and my air gap to my dishwasher, so it couldn't bubble up and back flow, which would destroy them. Do not use this in your garbage disposal, if you don't want to replace it… Also, drain the water out of your sink by opening your P Trap, BEFORE you use this. The water will dilute the acid, and the acid will EAT your metal sink. I'm not kidding, there's a video out there showing the damage it did. The sulfuric acid must only contact with PVC pipes, nothing metal. Let me give you an idea of how strong this stuff is… As soon as I started pouring this down my drain, I heard a loud POP! It was the metal grate in my drain splitting, which is now mangled. It gave off a steam as I poured it, like acid does in the movies. The PVC piping held up well, as it should, since many protective gloves are made of PVC. I don't care about the drain grate, because this clog is COMPLETELY GONE. When I flushed it with water, there was absolutely no resistance or back up whatsoever. This product saved us a plumber charge, which might not have permanently solved the problem anyways. It also ended our 3 day battle with that horrible clog. To sum it up, this product is the Nuclear Option. It's a last resort option that is dangerous and can cause extensive collateral damage if not used properly. It is also almost guaranteed to completely annihilate whatever you use it on, including metal and skin. In my case, it destroyed an awful clog that nothing else could, and I'm glad I bought it. OK so I just poured this down my drain and so far it’s working wonderfully. It definitely thumbs up like crazy and on the bottle it said you might see a little bit. So definitely be prepared to see more fun than expected. I really like the fact that it’s dual action cleaning material. So you have two different types of liquid that makes us together to clean out your dream. You’re only supposed to use it in the sink in the bathroom or in the toilet. It doesn’t have any type of smell that I can sense so far. It does seem to be pretty dangerous if it gets close to children. I got this because the Max Gel, while it works GREAT, does not deodorize. However, this Dual Force variety does not deodorize at all. Not happy with that. Also, I thought, because it was a foam, it might clean the inside of the pipes better than the Max Gel. It didn't seem to clean the residue/build-up that I can see in the first few inches down my sink pipe at all. We periodically were using Drano and Liquid Plumber to open up our drains when they got backed up. Followed with hot water, they worked every time. We decided to give Liquid Fire a try. Read all the instructions on the label carefully and used it in our bathtub and bathroom sink drains. It made zero difference in our bathroom sink drain and we ended up with standing water in the tub! Had to pay over $100 to get a plumber out to open the bathtub drain. Weeks later (after giving their product another try) we had to buy another product to open up the slow drain in the bathroom sink. Also, the label doesn't tell you the product is going to corrode and ruin the metal finish you have around your drain opening permanently. I called the company because my experience has always been, that companies will make things right if you have an issue with their product. Not this one. It took them four days to respond after I called and emailed them. They immediately tried to blame me for not following the instructions on the label – which my husband absolutely did. They had zero concern for our bad experience and the costs we incurred after using their product. I pleaded with them that I would give them time to make things right by compensating us for the costs we incurred before contacting the BBB and giving them a bad review. I read all the reviews online about this product and the Drano version. I decided on this one based on more positive reviews. I had an issue with slow draining due to hair and soap scum build up. My snake couldn't pull out anymore hair as the clog was deeper, the baking soda and cleaning vinegar just wasn't cutting it anymore so I had to result to this rather than call a plumber and fork out their expensive rates. I poured about 1/3 of the bottle into my bath tub drain and let it sit for 7 hours, I boiled a pot of hot water after into drain and voila! No more water pooling and slow draining. After receiving my sample to try I needed to wait until the eventual clog in my shower drain to use it. I followed the directions on the bottle and poured the entire (small) bottle down the drain. While using the product I had my bathroom fan on to help remove any odors from the product. I was pleased to note that this product did not have a strong chemical smell to it. I waited the 15 minutes before running hot water to help rinse the product out of the shower and completely down the drain. This product did a good job of removing the clog in the shower. I was somewhat disappointed the next time I used the shower that I still had some standing water as I used the shower (other products have left my shower draining faster). Over-all I was fairly pleased with the product. I would used it again and I would also recommend it to others. I am sorry I have no pictures or video to add to this review.

I'm not really loyal to any type of product in this category. I usually buy whatever is cheaper and usually one is as good as the next. As far as my luck with using a drain cleaner goes it is just about zero. I end up with horrible clogs that just don't clear easily and I usually end up dumping full bottles down the drain before calling maintenance for help. This was different. I followed the instructions, waited the 15 minutes, then proceeded to run hot tap water down the drain. At first my sink backed up to about half full, but then very, very slowly the water started going down. I was still standing there after 5 minutes thinking I was going to have to use the full bottle, but I decided to give it a few more minutes. I was putting things away when I heard a loud sucking noise… the water actually went down the drain! A miracle! Used as directed, 1/5th bottle at a time but LIQUID PLUMBER "Clog Destroyer Plus" failed to budge spaghetti clog in kitchen sink with disposal. Prior to using LIQUID PLUMBER, scooped all but 1 inch of water that filled the kitchen sink after running a bowl full of leftover spaghetti through the garbage disposal. To protect the small appliance and pipes, we only use disposal for soft foods. As a rule, only foods that can be easily chewed are eligible for the sink and waste disposal. We never pour cooking oils and fats down the sink. It came to a surprise when a few cups of leftover pasta stopped water from draining. To avoid chemicals, we started with a sink plunger, followed by boiling water and repeating with plunger. Before running out to buy LIQUID PLUMBER, followed various Internet instructions to use vinegar and baking soda. After several failed attempts, we headed to the big box store for commercial drain cleaners. Now, several plumbers have refused to tangle with a sink that has 80 ounces of LIQUID PLUMBER in it. Astounding that LIQUID PLUMBER isn't able to cut though soft spaghetti noodles but sufficiently caustic to scare of registered plumbers. Severe clog in tub, tried a few other brands no success used a entire bottle of this let it sit from 6pm to 7am then used a teapot and boiled a few pots and used that instead of just running water. OK so I just poured this down my drain and so far it’s working wonderfully. It definitely thumbs up like crazy and on the bottle it said you might see a little bit. So definitely be prepared to see more fun than expected. I really like the fact that it’s dual action cleaning material. So you have two different types of liquid that makes us together to clean out your dream. You’re only supposed to use it in the sink in the bathroom or in the toilet. It doesn’t have any type of smell that I can sense so far. It does seem to be pretty dangerous if it gets close to children. It says if you come in contact with it to immediately rinse off as fast as possible. So I would say just be careful with this product but I’m definitely happy with it!rae.l

I got this because the Max Gel, while it works GREAT, does not deodorize. However, this Dual Force variety does not deodorize at all. Not happy with that. Also, I thought, because it was a foam, it might clean the inside of the pipes better than the Max Gel. It didn't seem to clean the residue/build-up that I can see in the first few inches down my sink pipe at all. It does foam, and it does help with clogs and drainage, but it doesn't do what I was looking for it to do (clean and deodorize). Do not recommend and will not buy again.addisonsvox

I've tried a handful of tools over the years for removing hair clogs, primarily from shower drains. This one works best, by far. My only complaint is that they're disposable, rather than reusable. But, I think it's the aggressive velcro-type tips that both makes the wands so effective and, in turn, impossible to clean after-the-fact. I'm still looking for a reusable alternative. In the meantime, as the shower drain slows, I'll keep using these to free the clogs.ReluctantPlumber

You need to start with a dry sink or tub for this to work since you need to pour on really hot water to activate. Thrift is lye in pebble form. Thrift was almost solely and still is primarily available in plumbing supply shops. There is a reason for that. This stuff works! Water must be flowing so handle it before it is 100% clogged. Be sure to heat the pipes and it's better to use boiled water to pour in after you put it in the drain. The hotter the water the better it works, but hot tap water will work also. It will not eat the pipes like sulfuric acid. You can get lye mixed with aluminum powder at any hardware store, but I prefer this. There are some videos on Youtube.Zorg

Both sinks in my kids bathroom were clogged. 1 had orbeez in the drain and there was standing water in it & the other had kinetic sand in the drain so it drained slow. I poured one side of the solution directly in the drain & I poured the other side of the solution in the standing water. Followed instructions step by step. Used boiling water and let it set overnight using both containers. My house now smells like a chemical plant. I had to siphon the green gobbler out of sink into a bucket and use a shop vac to remove drain line. Used a clogg blaster that you hook to garden hose. instantly unclogged the drain. take my advice and buy a drain king for garden hose. it will save you headache literally from chemical smells and extra work.isaac

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I purchased Drano max gel clog remover. It says that it is guaranteed to clear packages. I use this on a slow drain that had hair in it. I followed the directions and used approximately half the bottle and waited and then rinsed with hot water. The drain does seem to be running faster now, but I might use the rest of the bottle to clear anything else out. It's a thick liquid with a strong smell so make sure there is ample ventilation. I would purchase this product again.

The instructions on how to use the Drano are very simple and easy to follow. I poured the Drano in my kitchen sink to get the greasy buildup and food pieces out. I let it sit and then poured the hot water down the drain and I noticed the water went down a lot faster than before. I highly recommend this product for a quick and easy fix. The only thing I don't like is the chemical smell it gives off while it's sitting in the drain. Wish they had fresh scent fragrances. But I would definitely recommend to a friend! My bathroom sink drain was VERY slow. My husband's identical drain works great. I used a whole jug (80 oz.) of Drano Max Gel, in 3 installments, waiting each time before "flushing" with hot water. When I turned on the hot water, with the drain open, it quickly accumulated to a depth of about 2 inches, and when I turned off the water, it took 25 or 30 seconds to drain. Not much different from before I used the Drano. Not impressed. The jug said to come to www.drano.com for the details on "Guaranteed or it's free," but I couldn't find any such details. My advice is to try a different brand.
