This brute is heavy duty, loads of torque and no problem carrying me uphill and still maintaining a good amount of speed. I've had it up to 40 mph on flat streets. I've traveled up to 10 miles on this at full speed and hills. She only slowed a little on the last hill, but all the flats were still good to get me home. Wow. The perfect electric scooter for just wanting to get my feet wet in the electric scooter scene before spending the big bucks. I purchased this scooter after having ridden my friend's Ninebot Max which, in my opinion, is the benchmark for commuting/cruising electric scooters; this HiBoy Max 3 is very close to that scooter at HALF the price. With 10" pneumatic tires that's actually wider than Ninebot's 10" tires, the ride quality and grip on this thing is excellent. A key drawback to this scooter is that it's rear disc brake ONLY. The rear wheel WILL lock up under hard braking which increases your braking distance and severely reduce stability. Lean as far back as possible and pulse the brake lever (hold and slightly let go intermittently) whenever you hear the tires starting to screech to get the most out of those brakes, which isn't much since momentum is working against you. So far in my month of ownership and daily usage it has survived multiple curb jumps, rain, and an accidental submersion in mud after I got a little overconfident. Realistic mileage per charge is about 11 miles for me (full speed, 180 Lbs).M S.
This Hiboy S2 scooter has been a hoot to use. It goes pretty fast reaching 19mph, much better than the average 15.5mph from other scooters of this price range. It reaches this speed very quickly too. The scooter offers solid tires front and back. These are the tires you want if you are using the scooter as a commuter as you don't have to worry about the tires getting flat. The ride is very good and it has the added benefit of a rear suspension. It does get a bit bumpy if the roads are cracked and uneven. The tires grip the road very good especially for being solid tires. The scooter offers rear mechanical disk brake and a front electronic brake. Unlike other scooters their electronic brake has a dedicated brake thumb level to control it. You can basically ride the scooter with your hands in the natural position of holding the handle bar with the thumb resting on the thumb throttle and thumb brake. This makes this scooter so easy to ride as you don't need to reach for a trigger be it brake or throttle. This is my favorite feature of this scooter. The range I get is around 11miles on sport mode going full throttle, around 15 miles if I use comfort mode and try to conserve energy. Scooter has pretty good lighting for night riding. They have high mounted headlight, low mounted taillight. Also included in under deck mounted light to help your scooter to be more easily seen at night. I would still recommend a high power front light and a helmet mounted taillight. This scooter pretty much met most of my expectations. For what it costs, it hits all the areas of what makes it a decent scooter pretty well. Acceleration, handling, smoothness, break response, battery life, durability, battery life, and charging time aren't all uniformly exceptional, but they're satisfactory. Assembly is very easy, and everything felt pretty well made and solid coming right out of the box. You almost don't need the manual, since every part of folding, unfolding, screwing the handlebars in place, ect is very self-explanatory. The battery life is very sensitive to the way you choose to ride. If you put it at the most powerful setting and ride at full throttle, you will not go much further than about 10 miles based on my test runs. If you coast, go easy with the acceleration and keep it in a power-conserving setting, then you might think the ride will feel a bit sluggish and boring, but you will have effortless and reliable transportation across the full range advertised. It's faster than walking and about the same speed as biking with a cheaper or comparably priced bike…without any physical exertion beyond just standing; I find this to be a winning quality when it's very hot outside. The tires work well and the whole frame is rugged and reliable, so far. I drove over side walks and cracked roads with gravel near Yale, and while it could do with a good suspension/shock absorbers, the big wide air-filled pneumatic tires do a respectable job at keeping the bumps from being jarring. Had absolutely no problem with modest off-road-levels of cruising. The acceleration is satisfying with a full charge on a flat surface or down a hill, and the disc breaks are mated well with the power for safety. It seems like when the battery is less than half full, or an incline occurs, or the motor gets too hot, the power drops off a lot, and the most powerful setting feels really more like a cross between the lowest and medium setting. If you slow down or give the scooter a break for half a minute, the power returns on a flat surface again for a while. I don't recommend stressing the motor out to its maximum potential for long periods of time. The battery will drain and the acceleration will just stop being fun. However, it will continue to buzz along at a steady 10mph (below the advertised max speed) at the very least if you wish, so I can't complain about it as a good short/medium range city commuter. The headlights and tail lights are more than bright enough to keep you safe in terms of alerting others that you're on a road, but the headlight doesn't provide much more vision at night than just what's directly within about 8 feet of you….which is sufficient to ride around safely all things considered. All in all, you don't pay anything in gas and you don't exert yourself physically to use this scooter. It's very fun for short bursts of smooth acceleration and very practical for commuting, even if the roads driven on aren't of the best quality (thanks to the great tires it has). I wish the power was a little better and more consistent, but I'd say it's worth the money for what it's intended to be.Herman

I love this electric scooter! I'm lucky to live close to my work place, about 2 blocks away to be exact, and this scooter is my work commuter (as long as the weather is tolerable). If your like me you see those scooters all around town, well I’m not into the hourly rental thing so, guess who got a scooter? Yep this guy. The other day I got the Razor C25 SLA Electric Scooter and let me tell you, ever since getting it, I don’t want to get off. This scooter is AWESOME! I don’t know where to start. Assembly was a breeze, plug in a wire, put four screws into the handle and your ready! I made sure the rubber tires were full of air and charged the battery as recommended. The next day, I’m outside riding around like a kid with a new toy! The scooter is smooth, easy to operate and really got some speed. I love that there is a speed gauge and battery indicator right in the middle of the scooter. The right handle is your throttle, and allows you to get to speed up to 15 mph! The left handle is an electronic break. Oh and let me tell you, this scooter also comes with a headlight and brake light. I can’t tell you how many people in the neighborhood have asked me about it while I was riding in circles and even to the store. Where I simply fold down the handle bar and take it inside with me. For some reason, I didn’t realize how big this scooter was going to be from looking at it online only. I guess the max weight of 264 lbs. should have clued me in. This scooter is as big as the ones they have around the city for people to rent for a little while. I appreciated all of the instructions and safety information that is included. There is some very light assembly, like locking the vertical bar into place and adding on the handle bars. It is very fun to ride. But, because you should only ride on flat surfaces, we have to take ours to an area of the city where the sidewalks are not uneven and bumpy. I benefited from riding it a bit without the motor first, so that I could get acclimated to the machine before getting the motor involved. I haven’t felt comfortable enough to use the bluetooth speaker yet. I want to focus all my attention on driving. Also, I did feel more comfortable wearing a helmet while riding, as the instructions suggest.blusunday
There are a lot of pros to this Hover-1 Alpha scooter. However, the pros outweigh the couple of negatives in my opinion. The reason I was really drawn to this scooter was due to its speed and the fact it had a higher weight capacity. I know I wanted to play with this as well as my brother who would need the higher weight. So far, I can say that it has lived up to its description. My brother weights about 210 and I can say that the speed has not been affected at all. It Definity goes fast, and it is very quick to do so. However, at first it doesn’t, and you need to click on the turbo button to let it know you want to go faster. Once that is clicked it’s good to go. The negative to this scooter is the battery life doesn’t last long as I thought it would, or what it stated. I would keep in mind that you want to charge it when you are done using it, and possibly note that if you are on the heaver side, the battery does not last as long. At least that is what I have noticed thus far with me using it (105lbs) to my brother who is 210. Compared to the other hover scooter I had; it was much smaller. I love how this Alpha scooter is bigger overall. Bigger tires, bigger handles etc. In general, this is not as flimsy as the smaller versions and this is made with better quality and is made to last, in my opinion. The LED lights are great. They help when its being used at night, and they are extremely bright. Again, with the other scooter I had, you couldn’t really see it and I wouldn’t use it at all when the sun would start to go down. I feel much more confident and comfortable using the Alpha-1 in later hours. Overall, I am very impressed with this scooter. The speed is great. It handles much better when using it, compared to a smaller one and you can see it from a mile away. I will the Alpha one has much more control, even at higher speeds and doesn’t feel shaky. Only negative I can say, is the battery (at least with mine) and it may not last as long with someone higher in weight. However, I love this scooter and plan on using it for a long time!JXO
My kiddos have had electric scooters for a few years now and absolutely love them. While watching them zip up and down the street, I always imagined how fun they would be to ride, but unfortunately I am an adult and that little scooter just wouldn’t hold me. That was why I was so excited to find the Hover-1 Alpha. This thing is a beast. It has a weight capacity big enough to support most adults and is super fun to ride. I love that the charger is actually labeled with the brand name/description on it. I hate it when I am stuck searching for a charging cable and having to go through the collection I have saved up in my television stand before I can charge my device. You get a lot for your money with the Razor EcoSmart Metro Electric Scooter. Power and range could be better but neither are bad at all and you can perform battery mods if you wish. Out of the box assembly easy and quick. Only real complaint is the stock bike seat just does not work well for this scooter. While the seat has cushion it has little support and combined with the more upright riding position, all your weight is distributed straight down your spine to your backside. With the scooter not having any suspension, this quickly gets uncomfortable. Replaced stock seat with Bell Comfort 920 Noseless Replacement Bike Seat purchased right here on Academy Sports and it makes a big difference. A couple of other minor nits, such as kick stand mounting position reducing underside clearance. Otherwise, I would have given this 5 stars.LWHJR1
As someone who has owned a good 4-5 scooters before this one (some propane powered, others electric), trust me when I say: get the warranty. Electric scooters, seemingly regardless of brand, are prone to problems. I got this scooter about 4 months ago. When it came out of the box, it only went about 4 miles max per charge before it was so weak it barely went walking speed. Now it can barely make it 2. I contacted razor and thanks to my warranty, I was able to get replacement batteries from them which I'm charging for the first time as I write this. The scooter itself is great; its comfortable, looks nice, constantly has people asking me "where did you get it?" And "how much was it?" And I do recommend getting it. I think even with what potential problems it could have, its worth the price for how long it lasts and how far it goes. And thats coming from me when mine was working at 1/6th its supposed capacity. If the new batteries also start failing for some reason I'll likely change this review, but for now this is what I've got to say about it. Tl;dr, great scooter but DO NOT get it without a warranty. My girlfriend got this as s surprise birthday gift for me and I would not be any happier. It has very little assembly (just 4 screws for the handlebar), I finished it within 5 mins and took it for a ride right away. I was blown away by the scooter and its features. The scooter is amazing with multiple speed adjustments and could go up to 15 mph. it has a cool led headlight and taillight that make me feel safe to drive at night. The scooter is big and has pretty large wheels which make it feel very sturdy, especially for a big guy like me. it's foldable which makes it very easy to transport the scooter around. Overall, I was very, very impressed with the product. Definitely would recommend this product to anyone in the market for an electric scooter.Liam

I gave two starts simply because the Jetson would be great if my battery experience wasn’t so poor. I ordered two scooters with four batteries total. Two were dead on arrival. One started rapidly degrading after no more than about 15 rides that were no more than 30 minutes to an hour, per ride. The last standing battery is starting to deplete faster as well. Considering it’s over a year since purchase, Jetson doesn’t offer anything more than a 15% or so discount on a replacement battery that isn’t even in stock. Not a product I would recommend, given the $1500+ price point I paid for two of them.Kash
This scooter is a blast! Initially, I was a little concerned because the only instructions it came with fit on a bifold card… I would’ve expected a proper multi-page manual for something so sleek/sophisticated. But, as it turns out, that quick start card provides basically everything you need to know! I actually appreciate the simplicity & ease of use. The scooter itself feels very strong/sturdy— nothing flimsy about it! Yet it’s nimble & easy to maneuver. The headlight is nice & bright. The screen/display is easy to read with just a quick glance. I like that you can set different speed maximums/limits. The cruise control is a great feature & comes in very handy. And the bell is the perfect cherry on top! All my family & friends are very envious! Since COVID is still a thing, I haven’t had much opportunity to utilize the folding/portability aspect of it— for now, I just take it for spins around the neighborhood. I bought this a year ago, in the beginning it worked fine. It could last about 1.5 hours, 2 hours at most when you drove it on a full battery. Now it barely lasts 45 minutes if you’re using it without breaks. I bought this to go to work but I’ve given it to my little sister because this scooter is just a toy. It’s not a proper electric scooter and you can’t use this for anything worthwhile. You can take it out with your kids or siblings, use it for 30-40 min and bring it back home to charge for another 3 hours. Not worth it if you’re looking for a good electric scooter. It's quiet and smooth. but I hate don't like the brake. There is only one brake, in the back, and it is either on or off – no in between. this makes for jerky stops. it is impossible to slowly, smoothly, come to a stop on this vehicle. And it has no front brake at all! ok so even the little Razor kick scooter @ Walmart has a caliper front brake! so now i'm trying to drill through the frame to retrofit a caliper brake on the front, and I just should not have to do this.Hap 14

I saw the video on the the mototec mad 1600w page however it was out of stock so I reached out. the ecoastriders team got back to me and told me the vulcan was the upgraded model and was pretty much the same thing but better. I was really impressed with the steering and stability. Great scooter, still going strong after a year. I didn't want to spend more on the Fat Tire model with a Lithium Battery, so opted for this one with Lead Acid batteries. But once these are worn out, I will just replace with Lithium. Looks like you can get a lithium battery with charger on ebay for a good price and just wire it up. Works great in my neighborhood and we take it camping. Very happy with it.Robert
If you purchase this scooter as I did, I recommend you buy it on Walmart. The overly cheap ones on Facebook are scam's. I also recommend that you go to Youtube and do a search for the scooter, you should see a video done by "Clarks Place" where they assemble one, it will make your assembly go smoother and its not complicated.LeRoy
Love It. So Much Fun! Had a few issues, brakes needed adjusted, they squeaked really loudly. Make sure you fully charge the battery before you ride it, unless you want to push it home. The battery light indicator shows as full out of the box.. It's Not! I learned that the hard way but once it was fully charged I've taken it 11 miles round trip, up and down hills, grass, dirt,gravel, side walk and road, and battery still had 75% left. I have no review of it's speed capability since I haven't tried pushing it full throttle, my top speed so far is only 17mph at a 3/4 twist of the throttle. Model is some what different from the picture, ignition is now built into the new head light and charging port is on the outer bottom side of the foot board. It has a horn but it sounds like the ones that come on mobility scooters, wasn't impressed so I'll be ordering a new one. It's a lot of fun and definitely worth the money!Carrie

Please don't even order this. It came in a surprisingly thin cardboard box, and yes, it was damaged. Some scratches on the frame and a crooked holder for the front light. Installment was a nightmare. You get 3 sentences with 6 blurry too-small images that get you nowhere. It was frustrating because I had to find out myself and I am still not sure if I secured everything 100% safe. Nothing to find online as well. Than the use. It is a small device, which I can get over because I figured already. There is no speedometer which I kind of missed, and with GPS the top speed I reached (even slightly downhill) was 14.9 mph, although the box/site promises you 18. I have not tested the range, so I wouldn't know if it makes the 18.6 miles. Because of the big tires the ride was smooth, but because of how small it is you just aren't comfortable and it feels strange. I did not expect to get something enormous and perfect, but still, for 500 dollars I expected every single thing to be better. I shipped it back the same day.Jaap
First of all it’s smaller that expected, but that would of been fine.. but the breaks or something was scrubbing when in use, one break didn’t even work at all. When fully charged it would barely make it up a small blacktop driveway, probably 100ft distance at a slight incline. Would be great for flat city streets as a commuter scooter, it’s just not functional for my area which isn’t necessarily flat. This was a nice ride for the one time I got to ride without issues. On my second ride I got a flat tire; had a mechanic look at it and I was told the valve on the rear tire needed to be replaced or the tire would not retain any air that I put in. When I first open the box of the scooter I was very excited that I finally received my varla eagle one scooter been waiting for the past 3 weeks..
