The purpose of this product is to provide #heatprotection, it is also #sulfatefree #parabenfree #dyefree and #mineraloilfree. That's a huge bonus because those things are terrible for your hair. This product contains coconut and argan oil as well. The instructions state to simply apply the product after washing but before applying heat a.k.a blow drying,flat ironing, and/or curling. I had the opportunity to try Hair Food's new coconut and argan oil "Heat Protection Blend" and I would enjoy sharing my experience. I used this product on my towel-dried hair after shampooing and conditioning as usual. I flipped my head upside down and spritzed liberally then straightened up and applied a little more. I worked it through with my fingers and then I blow dried as usual. I did not use any other product on my hair so I could really get an idea of Hair Food's benefits. After blow drying and a bit of finger combing, my hair was soft and shiny. Very nice! The product also has a great smell that filled the whole bathroom while I was drying my hair! As my hair is thin, it only takes me a couple of minutes to dry, and I only use curling irons or flat irons occasionally, I probably wouldn't use this product much BUT…we did have an accidental discovery! My boyfriend grabbed the Hair Food heat protection spray after showering and sprayed it (probably quite generously!) on his hair and WOW! His very curly red locks looked great! He did not blow dry or apply any kind of heat but his hair looked and felt awesome, shiny and SO soft! So, I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with thick, curly hair, regardless of heat applications. For best results: Shake well before using. Apply liberally on race section before applying heat. The first thing I noticed about HAIR FOOD coconut & argan oil HEAT PROTECTION BLEND was how clean and fresh it smells. I found it to work best by shaking the bottle, spraying it on a small section and brushing it in before using my styling tool. It didn't stick to or cause build up on my styling tool or my hair. It left me hair feeling clean not caked. I would have liked for it would make the top layer (most damaged from color) a little smoother. However, it did keep my hair from being further damaged. This product should be discontinued by the smell alone. The product itself seems to he ok for hair. The one and only time I used it, it did make my hair feel a lot more moisturized. But the smell…TERRIBLE!! It smelled so bad but despite the smell, I still tried it in hopes that it would go away. Well this made me sick. Trigggered migraines that lasted days. Based on description, reduces frizz and flyaways which I’m not sure why any product would want to reduce frizz or flyaways. I say that because that’s the point have natural hair to be free. And, unless you’re trying to control frizz and flyaways in a protective style then yes I can see why. I am a wash and go for a year and don’t mind the frizz and flyaways. The product smells really good thought!!! Even after hair dry, the product can be smelled days after without using any of the other MO products to keep hair moisturized. Based on the 8 fl oz jar🏺I got 2 uses wash/go uses and a little left for a 3rd. I have very dense hair which (when I say dense I mean that you have find my scalp lol) means this size jar is not really enough for my hair. I did not get a tingling feeling using this product and may be that didn’t leave on the required 15-30 minutes. Love this mask! Ok, so it costs slightly more than I would like to spend on a tub of hair mask but it is worth it. Have repurchased already! The texture is more watery than the average mask but this just melts into the hair. I have naturally straight thick (previously coloured) hair and this mask leaves it silky, shiny and soft. There is a slight tingling sensation on the scalp but the directions say it is to be expected and means it’s working – always good to stimulate the scalp for hair growth I guess. There is a scent but I don’t mind it. Highly recommend.

Started using this product today. At first, I really liked it and thought it was nice overall. Then the smell hit. At first, I was like ah this is interesting. Not bad. But then it got worse. I was like why does this smell like this and what does it remind me of? I didn't quite like the smell, and as I used more of it (because the product itself is great), I then realized: it smells like cat litter. I'm going to return it for the coconut scented one and see if that one is better because the product itself is great. Very lightweight, sprays on easily, isn't sticky or tacky or gross. PROS – I an very sensitive to smells and the fragrance wasn't overpowering. CONS – The product becomes sticky once it's on the hair for five minutes. I didn't like how my daughter's hair turned out using this product. I usually add jojoba oil to wet hair (natural) then blow dry then flat iron. I replaced the jojoba oil with this heat protectant. I love the way this smells!! It’s got a good sprayer that has a good, consistent mist so it coats really evenly. Making it hard to over saturate one area. I have thick hair so it did take me awhile to get enough in my hair. The sprayer is a little awkward but makes a lot of sense when your hands get a little slick. It leaves your hair shiny and I think that it does it’s job as a heat protector. It’s a little too pricey for me though, but I really wanted to try it. Next time I’ll probably check out a different brand of heat protector. I would, however, recommend this to those with fine or oily hair since you because it’s a fine mist you have more control over how much you apply.kika.h
This is my 4th or 5th time purchasing. This stuff is great. I spray it in my hair before blow drying. I spray both sides of my hair, top part and underneath. It helps greatly with drying time, especially since I have long very thick, straight hair. My hair feels protected from heat damage, even if I choose to use heat tools. It smells heavenly, like the beach. I normally hate fragrance in products but since this is for hair I like it. It's affordable and cruelty free. I don't notice it making my hair more less greasy. Still in search of a heat protectant, sadly this one isn’t for me—far too greasy. You’re supposed to avoid the roots but that’s pretty hard if you have a pixie cut. Even a light application weighs my hair down and looks too greasy. I think if the nozzle allowed a more fine mist then it would work far better…but despite household cleaners having this ‘technology’ that lets you spritz or stream, beauty products never make a mister that will accommodate various strengths. So I end up having to place this so far from my head, to avoid the dang roots, that I feel I’m spraying the mirror and my face as much as my hair. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, this isn’t an awful product…but regardless of length, if you have oil prone or super thin hair I’d avoid! Meanwhile I’m just turning the heat lower on my flat iron as that seems to work just as well.
My hair has never looked so good! I love it. I use it before I curl or straighten my hair and I only use it on the last 4-5 inches of my hair. The first time I tried it, I thought it was going to be really oily but it dries as you go and leaves the hair soft and smooth, and a nice finished look. I do like this, works good when you do not over spray. Can be very greasy on finer hair types so use sparingly. A little goes a long way with this product. My hair has not only stayed healthy and strong but it’s also kept its shine AND my color doesn’t seem to look as dull and faded as soon as it normally would. I love ! It really does protect hair from heated styling tools! Before straightening I spray it all over my hair. Typically I spray it on once my hair is dry (you can do dry or wet). Then I take and run my fingers and then brush through my hair before styling. It’s a milky mist consistency and a little goes a long way. I bought this a couple days ago. My hair struggles to hold curl cause it's thin regardless of having a lot of it. I sprayed this on layer by layer ran my fingers through and let dry. I’ve been using this product for years. If I was reviewing this product a few years ago I’d give it 5 stars. As of late I’ve moved away from heat styling and accepting my natural texture. This product was my best friend for quite a-few years. After blowing out my hair I’d section out my hair and give them a healthy spraying with this spray. I never had any issues with greasiness or stickiness. My hair always looked smooth and stayed nice and soft. This definitely combats frizz and does a nice job protecting against thermal heat. The biggest issue I had with this product is the fragrance. It’s pretty heavy and sweet. It Always made me sneeze! Without fail. Obviously I put up with it, but it definitely irritated my nose. This is a fantastic product, its honestly the first heat protectant product thats actually worked when I straighten my fine hair!! I bleached my hair twice in three days and the second day of bleaching my hair it was completely fragile to the point where I literally did not want to brush it because every time I did hair and hair would fall off and I'm talking chunks of hair. I immediately remembered about this product, because I had used it in the past and it had made wonders for me. This time it still came through for me, I bought the shampoo and conditioner along with the hair repair mask and like I said it didn't disappoint me at all. As soon as I washed my hair with it I was able to feel the difference, after brushing my hair my hairbrush would have little amount of hair. I have used it about 5-6 times since I've bleached it and my hair is starting to feel back to normal. Honestly if it wasn't for this I think my hair would have been super short by now because of all the breakage I had. I also would recommend you not washing your hair daily, allow 2-3 days in between each hair wash to let your hair rest but that's only if your hair is as bad as mine was. I Bought the travel size Neuro Iron Hairspray. Just as a previous reviewer states, the spray nozzle stopped working. I curled half of my hair and the bottle stopped spraying the product. It was making a hissing sound , but no spray. The canister still has plenty of liquid that I can't use 😕. I have never had a product stop working so quickly. It looks frizzy and damaged but it's not really. Just a few light sprays of this over my dry hair before a flat iron and my hair is can be transformed to spun silk! It's amazing! I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. It's color damaged and very dry and frizzy so I either need to add curling cream to get my waves or fully blow dry it straight. I used to use the Bb repair blow dry cream and that made my hair silky after a blow dry. This product left me with a residue on my hair I can feel. I was on TIK TOK late one night, as usual, and came across a hair dresser that recommended the Verb Ghost line shampoo, well one thing led to another and I found that Ulta has a starter kit that included the shampoo, conditioner, prep, and oil. So because it was such a great deal, I ordered a kit and added their deep conditioner because who doesn't like having a deep container to try as well. While I waited 3 days for my order to arrive, I allowed my hair to get as dirty as possible. If I was going to try this line, I wanted to get the full effect on the first use. The order finally arrived and I ran to the bathroom like a giddy school girl that couldn't wait to try this product line. Let's talk packaging! It is simple but high end. To be honest, the name Ghost and it being a black bottle, is what originally won my goth little heart! The smell was about average for salon quality hair care, which is great because I knew it wasn't filled with a bunch of artificial fragrances. I did my usual lather rinse repeat, followed with the deep conditioner that I let sit for 5 mins, towel dried my hair, added a little squirt of the Verb Ghost Prep through out my whole head, combed out, then added 2 pumps of the oil to my ends. Now usually that is where I stop because I HATE blow drying my hair. But today was different and I needed the results ASAP. So I grabbed my blow out brush and started at work. The results? My hair was so healthy and shiny! It smelled so good, felt amazing, and it actually had some volume! This stuff (when used sparingly) didn't make me feel weighed down at all. And because my hair is so long, usually most products make my hair feels so heavy and feels like it left a gross film on my strands. Now I will say, don't use the Prep if you want to air dry your hair. I have done it a couple times now, and it leaves my hair kind of crunchy feeling towards the roots. I Love love love. I just used this last night and super pleased with the results. I have very fine hair and it does not weigh it down or feel greasy like others posted. It has a nice scent too. So many hair products have silicone which over time coats the hair but not allowing moisture in and can leave build up and dry hair from inside out. This hair product has none of the bad stuff and leaves my hair feeling nourished and protected. I bought the large 10 ounce one at TJ Maxx for $11 after trying one of their Iron Guard products and liking it. I went with this one because it was a larger bottle and figured it wouldn't be that different but I was wrong. I was going to give it 3 stars but made it 4 stars because I should have read the bottle and the reviews better. This definitely feels like a hair spray in that it gives your hair a crunch. I have used this 2x after brushing my dry hair and then used a straightener over it. You feel the crunch immediately so to me it made it a bit difficult to straighten. I ended up having to brush, straighten, brush, straighten, brush to get it to look the way I like. It did hold the style throughout the day which I guess is good, but it just wasn't the easiest getting the style this way which was just basic straight hair. I believe this would work really well when using a curling iron though or using on humid days. I'll stick to the normal Iron Guard 44 spray because this huge bottle will last me years and I rarely curl my hair. TLDR: This is half heat protection and half hair spray to set your hair. The idea was that you wouldn't need 2 different products.strawberry.p
I use this when curling my hair. I spray it all over, then brush through prior to using my curling wand. It helps hold my curls/waves and I don't need to use hairspray after, so my hair stays soft. Curls last all day, with only a little touch up the next morning. I think it helps protect too, since my hair is in pretty good condition and I curl it a few times each week with a very hot wand.MoKat

I made the mistake of using a curling iron set on very low on an non-heat friendly wig! I sprayed this protectant on first and I am sure it saved my wig. I only discovered afterwards that I was working on regular synthetic. I don't recommend doing this ever but this was a mistake that could have turned out really bad.
