I got this due to the reviews plus I like the Jojoba leave in. I’ve tried it and tried to use it differently but this just doesn’t cut it. Like others have said it can get greasy. Been buying this for over a decade. Recently they change their novel and every time I spray at the nozzle sticks in the downward position and I have to lift it up. It’s incredibly annoying. It is one thing to raise the prices (used to be 6.29 back in the day) but when you downgrade the quality of the bottle it makes me not want to bother anymore. I love this stuff. I spray my whole head and then brush it before I use my curling iron. It seems to help hold the curls and I don't use any other hairspray after. It's not crunchy or sticky at all. I love that it has thermal protection since I usually curl my hair. You can't even tell there's hairspray in my hair after I'm done curling. Starting with the PRO, this spray is awesome after you have styled your hair, particularly with some curls that you want to hold yet you don't want to use stiff hairspray. You could run your fingers through the curls or tousle a little bit as you spray all around your hair. It is an awesome finishing spray! However, the big Con is that it absolutely, positively is an NOT a good thermal styling spray. Some of the positive previous reviews said this product made it shiny and held either a straightener or curling iron pass over. So I sprayed it on my blowdried hair and went ahead and curled my hair with a curling iron. I didn't notice at the time, but at some point later in the day I thought I smelled burning hair. I happen to shower again later that evening and after the shower as my hair fell in my face, without a doubt it was burnt hair smell! I was looking for a heat protectant I could use on my fine color-treated hair that would not alter my color or cause product build-up, be sticky or tacky, and would be versatile! I wanted something I could use on damp or dry hair to protect it from heat and this product is great! I use this on damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair after I put in an anti-snap product and lightweight oil (pre-blow-dry). Before drying I spray a light even mist over my hair and comb through and section off to blow dry. The results are amazing. My style lasts beautifully, feels like silk, and second-day hair requires a slight flat iron touch up (if that for my long bangs). I have no tangling while drying or after, I have no sticky tacky feeling (which is why I hate "hair sprays") except for very few products (one from Kenra (medium hold) and one from a brand not carried by Ulta) when needed. Any product that has the word “primer” in it gets my attention as it feels like something that is put on before adding anything else serves a purpose especially before applying heat. I think that when it comes to hair, we often don’t think to add a primer or heat protective item but definitely it keeps from heat ruining your hair. I haven’t been doing much to my hair separate from washing and having it in a messy bun. For this review, I blew dry my hair and used the priming spray but since getting this in the box, I spray my hair with it even if I will be air drying it. So with the heat protection spray I do like it. I don’t spray so much of it mostly when my hair is damp because when it’s dry like it just makes my hair feel very heavy. anyways I did try it both ways wet hair and dry hair just to see what works best for me. My experiences with this were positive not so much negative may be just like a little bit I have thin fine hair and it’s also oily so a little bit of everything and any product goes a long way I do know that because of the changes in season and I do require to use a little bit more so this would be very helpful for me during the winter because in the summer my hair heats up really bad because of the sun and it’s just I live in his dry state so he protection and I do straighten my hair a lot it does not really go with me. A little bit of a use I do get out of it but in the winter that is when I will definitely be using it to the max but other than that my hair did become heavy after a long day I’m not gonna say it so much light weight but it did make me feel good for a while with nice hair and it does smell good. I can't lie, I was really blown away by this line. Although I really wanted to give a good review on how well this straightened and retained my hair, I can't really say. I applied this I let my hair mostly sure dry in twists, then I proceeded to blow my hair out. I then straightened my hair. No other products were required to straighten my hair and it came out very silly and beautiful, by it didn't last😩. By the next day, the exterior layer of my hair had already swollen up. While this product DOES protect from heat damage (I tested some strands that remained straight, and they retained their curl after rehydrating), it does NOT help to retain the style or defy any humidity. I do not think this system, overall, does very well retaining heat styles or defending against humidity. I didn't get past more than a day before my hair swelled up from humidity. BUT, ill also point out that I experienced swelling on the outer layer of my hair, but underneath it was still straight, which was a new occurrence for me, and I was impressed. That meant I had less hassle to put up with to re-style it, which I did using perm rollers. All in all, I would t recommend this product individually.tre.l

I loved having the opportunity to try this heat protectant smoothing lotion in exchange for my honest review. The 6.6 oz retails for $29 on the pureology website. That price seems pretty fair. I have long hair and I usually use about 2 or three pumps. It smells great and smooths any frizz. Also, a lot of people skip the heat protectant step before they blow dry, flat iron or curl, and the professionals will tell you that’s a big mistake. Especially for color treated hair. This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. I started using this originally as a heat protection spray because I used to use a lot of heat on my hair. It worked great when using heat. It protected my hair and kept it shiny. What attracted me to it was the Coconut scent as well as the silk drops in it. It looks frizzy and damaged but it's not really. Just a few light sprays of this over my dry hair before a flat iron and my hair is can be transformed to spun silk! It's amazing! I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. Started using this product today. At first, I really liked it and thought it was nice overall. Then the smell hit. At first, I was like ah this is interesting. Not bad. But then it got worse. I was like why does this smell like this and what does it remind me of? I didn't quite like the smell, and as I used more of it (because the product itself is great), I then realized: it smells like cat litter. I'm going to return it for the coconut scented one and see if that one is better because the product itself is great. Very lightweight, sprays on easily, isn't sticky or tacky or gross. Left my hair feeling great, nice and soft, and actually made styling my hair a lot easier. It was just the smell that turned me off. My hair has never felt healthier in all my years of using protectants. Joico is a fantastic brand, and IronClad was phenomenal. Their new Hero with added shine is still difficult for me to adjust. I have long thick wavy hair that gets dry easy. I wash with all soft redken brand shampoo/conditioner. While wet, I add "United" Redken all over and I normally let it air dry (blow drying works fine too) I use hot tools at its highest setting (450) to straighten my hair. I would take sections, spray iron clad directly on my hair and style, and immediately after, my hair felt soft, light and never did more with it. Just perfect. Hero adds a gloss that makes your hair feel heavier in the beginning. I've adjusted by using less, spraying further away, but the results are the same. It's like my hair has to dry all over again. I still recommend this product since they no longer make my beloved IronClad. But just be warned, if you don't have dry hair, this will make your hair appear oily. Just remember, it locks in moisture (as it should) so for those of us with very dry hair, it still is a great purchase to makeEmpress86

I used it as suggested, and it leaves my hair dry, sticky, and dull. I really hate it. I don't feel like it protects my hair. It makes it worse.T

I love this product! When I first used it I was drawn in by the smell. It is so light and refreshing and I love the guava scent. I have been using this for about a week now and am loving it! I use it mostly when I get out of the shower as a detangler. After spraying it, I am easily able to brush through my curly hair, which usually has a lot of tangles. I have 2C/3A botticelli, coarse, high porosity hair that eats products and loves small proteins. This spray smells lovely and the scent lasts for quite some time (high po) like a perfume. However my hair does not like coconut of any variety and that ingredient is very drying so after a few uses, it went from shiny and lustrous to dull and knotty. The price cannot be beat on this hairspray! It works incredibly well and I’m a huge fan of BTZ products. It holds extremely well, even in the Florida humidity. I will say the formula is sticky, and the hair can be crunchy if too much is sprayed and used too closely. There’s truly a technique to getting this hairspray to work for you, but it’s worth it for the price! I love having a higher end product I love for when I can afford it (I highly recommend Moroccanoil Strong Hold Hairspray) and a less expensive option for when I’m saving money. This hair spray holds my style without being sticky our stiff. The smell is pleasant, but not very noticeable after it dries. I bought this as part is the sale they had and I had to buy 8 things to get free shipping and the sale price (4/$20 sale). I did buy 1 extra thing just to get free shipping and the sale prices. Without contacting me, Sally cancelled 5 of my items and shipped 3, I was disappointed that they didn't offer a rain check our anything because the 5 things that were cancelled were the only things I really wanted (they were not available in stores). I love this thermal protection spray. I have tried other heat protection prays but they do not make my hair feel smooth and fight against breakage like this one. This is the only brand I trust and love that helps protect against the heat after using curling irons or flat irons. I really recommend this product. I didn't have the opportunity to test this product so gave it a medium rating. It was highly recommended by a YouTube channel. As soon as I took the plastic cap off the bottle the scent hit me. A tiny spray on my palm smelled so strongly it was difficult to wash off completely with soap and water. This may be a great product for blow drying unless you have allergies/problems with fragrance. I lightly spritz a small section of hair then comb through before curling. I love this product. I bought it while it was on sale (buy 2 get 1 free) so I was able to stock up! It's easy to use and it doesn't leave any residue or add any weight to your hair. I am in the process of getting my hair back to a healthy point so I do have some breakage that causes "fly-aways" but this helps to tame some of them down while protecting my hair when I do blow dry, flat iron or curl it with my hot tools. It also smells great, not an over powering scent just a light clean scent. I think I may come back to do another review on this stuff once my hair is back in tip-top shape but since most of my fly-aways are tamed I would say this will be a 5 star review once my hair is doing better!MrsObrien88
