i love this product and it does everything it says it should — my hair is finicky, so that's high praise. but the glass bottle? garbage. knocked it over one time and it shattered, and i do mean SHATTERED, into many tiny pieces. i keep finding them the hard way because they were too small to see to sweep up. t couldn't salvage the serum because of all the little shards! nearly $30 in the trash, itty bitty shards stabbing my feet, and oil/serum that took hours to completely remove from my floor. i understand sustainability, but surely there's a medium to be met here?
The product was okay; I used it for about 4 days. Then on day 5, the slightly oily bottle slipped from my hand to the tile floor and shattered – I mean SHATTERED- into a million pieces. Still picking up tiny pink shards of glass and also pulling them from my feet. Have used lots of oil type hair products in past and never had breakage like this. I would avoid based purely on packaging!
I wasn't blessed with thick hair. Mine is fine, medium length and color-treated (honey beige blonde) with a mind of its own. First of all, Pureology can do no wrong in my eyes. Every single product they make is absolute gold. I loved having the opportunity to try this heat protectant smoothing lotion in exchange for my honest review. The 6.6 oz retails for $29 on the pureology website. That price seems pretty fair. I have long hair and I usually use about 2 or three pumps. It smells great and smooths any frizz. Also, a lot of people skip the heat protectant step before they blow dry, flat iron or curl, and the professionals will tell you that’s a big mistake. Especially for color treated hair. This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. The only single drawback is the scent, I wish it was less peachy and last shorter. Not to my liking anyway. I really enjoyed the shampoo from this line, but I feel the conditioner & smoothing cream are too heavy for my hair type. I shampoo and style my hair once a week and with the use of this product I had to shampoo after 2 days due to itchy scalp and just overall weighing my hair down. I use another high end line smoothing creams and I can go 6-7 days without shampooing. I’m all about that dry shampoo life. This product smells great and my hair looked amazing right after I blowed it out and it definitely did smooth my hair out, I just didn’t like the weighing of my hair down after 2 days. is such an amazing product! This hair serum isn’t for everybody because it’s such so heavy and thick, but if you have thick, dry, or coarse hair this would be perfect for you! This is a very thick serum that you only need a little bit of, and the nozzle makes it easy to get the perfect amount. This smells amazing, it hydrates deeply, and it makes your hair so shiny after you blow dry. This will weigh down fine hair types but for my thick hair, I use this for all of my blow dries. I received a complimentary product from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I am always happy to try a new serum for my curly 3B/C hair. This stuff is liquid gold. It smells good, has a nice weight to it, but isn’t greasy or sticky. The texture is smooth and silky, spreads easily, absorbs quickly into my hair. I suspect most people probably don’t need a lot, a pump or two would suffice. Today I used it with the shampoo and conditioner from the set. The shampoo and conditioner make my hair super silky and soft and this serum provided moisture and heat protection. I have zero frizz! Today I used my hair dryer with a diffuser attachment and wow, my curls got super springy. It’s been about eight hours since I washed my hair and applied the product. My curls are intact, silky soft, smooth and defined. I used about 3 pumps worth which is probably a lot but I have a lot of hair and need a large quantity of product. I’ll be trying this with a round brush and hairdryer and flat iron in a couple days. But for now? I love this serum, it’s great!rosie.k
So it’s a very convenient size bottle only 3 ounces very bright yellow color and absolutely marvelous scent of flowers that is not overwhelming and very clean and pleasant. There’s a little cover over the pump that’s transparent, the bottle is transparent as well and the pump is very convenient and only gives you the amount that you need per each pump action. It’s very liquidy and oily but the serum is nice and smooth and silky and it works pretty well especially on damp hair but I would actually suggest using it on dry hair so you don’t overuse it because it is oil or oily and you don’t want to have that much oil in your hair because it’s going to get dirty/greasy pretty quickly then. it did also help with the flyaways and keep it from becoming frizzy. I think it’s a very good product and I will continue to use it because it works and I really like the scent and I really like that it’s not such a big bottle that I could bring it with me in my purse and I love the little cover for the pump so even if it spills it won’t actually leak. I will recommend this product and the line because it’s high quality, luxurious appealing and almost substitutes for a slight body mist or perfume that smells like beautiful smelling flowers which reminds me of wisteria. This line is great for very dry hair. I especially like it for use after I have been on a heat styling binge. It’s definitely a heavier, thicker shampoo and conditioner. I have coarse, dry hair, but it gets weighed down easily, as well. I prefer to use this line when I am providing a “deep conditioning” treatment to myself. The serum is excellent in small amounts, and takes frizz. I would not recommend using the serum and the cream together. Serum is good for days I want to flat iron and smooth. The cream is better for days I’m allowing hair to air dry. The cream is a bit heavy for my liking. Not that it affects the product’s performance, but I am a huge scent person – the wish this line (and all of the Biolage lines) had a more appealing fragrance (they don’t smell badly, just reminds me of regular bar soap I guess). I absolutely love the Kerastase Chroma Absolu Serum Chroma Thermique Hair Serum! I usually don't like leaving products because they have my hair feeling dry or weird. I used the serum as part of the Kerastase Chroma Absolu system and I definitely think it's my favorite serum I've ever tried. I use the serum on towel dried hair and woke up to beautiful soft hair that had some definition without any styling. The spray function really helped get coverage over my hair easily. Kerastase Chroma Absolu Bain Serum has been a game changer! I have medium length, straight, thick, dry hair, and I am always concerned about using heat products. I have been following the instructions and applying a chestnut sized amount onto my towel dried hair, prior to blow drying it. I have been making sure that I only apply the product towards the length and ends of my hair – not on my scalp. I used just a blow dryer and a round brush to style my hair for the first time, after using this primer. Once I was completely done drying my hair, I noticed that my hair still had some volume, and even some shine to it! It looked healthy and hydrated and there was so much less frizz than normal. I usually always have to flat iron my hair after blow drying it, because the ends still look terrible, and the frizz is out of control. Not this time though! Skeptical but wow! I bought this place product and immediately after reading the reviews of people saying it made their hair sticky and straw like I thought I just wasted $30. I read the reviews of people who loved it and took their tips on what worked for them. I let my hair dry to about 40% dry and then I put the product in (2 pumps for my long hair) I have found little is more! And then I put it through the middle of my hair to the ends and then I brush through it for about a minute to ensure equal distribution. I then let the product sit in my hair for a couple minutes to fully absorb and then it’s drying time. I use my Revlon dryer brush and it took me about 5 minutes to do a beautiful salon like blowout. This is one of those products that can be terrible if not used properly but a great product when used correctly.macibradley1
I received a sample of this product in a gwp from Ulta. I used it for the first time yesterday and hated it so much, it went into the trash can this morning. My hair is normal/fine and highlighted, but usually feels smooth when styled. This product left my hair feeling like straw and extra tangled. Okay this is the best stuff ever. I have fine, wavy to curly hair. My hair is EASILY weighed down, and let me tell you, this product delivers. This is NOT an oil. Like how hyaluronic acid or niacinamide supports a moisturizer, this serum supports your conditioners or leave in moisturizers while helping smooth, shine, and protect. Unlike facial serums, this one goes on AFTER the moisturizing products to lock in the goodness. It strengthens your hair and allows for better style retention, as well as influencing your natural texture to take center stage in all its glory! This is a water gel like texture, it’s fast drying, but with no tacky ness or a residual texture of its own. It’s completely absorbed unless you use too much. If you use too much it will pull humidity from the air, making your hair feel like you just were in a sauna for 30 mins until it dries again. Use less than a full pump for medium hair, even less for fine hair. It’s styling benefits are definitely refreshed by scrunching with water! Next day this a huge time saver for me after sleeping on my hair. How I used it: After washing my hair I applied a pea size of number 6 Bond smoother, and BRUSHED it through upside down. I have textured, difficult, wildly frizzy 2b/3a curls/waves. They are not uniform so my hair sticks out in all directions and looks REALLY dry. Half my hair still has bleach damage from when I was platinum blonde. Basically, any hair product really has its work cut out for it! I found this serum to be VERY calming and nourishing, and it made my hair feel silky and soft, which is NOT easy to do. I have medium thickness, medium density hair that's an inch or two past my shoulders, and a full pump was too much – I ended up having to re-wash my hair. You really only need a little, applied to the bottom half of your hair. For me, half a pump distributed between both hands and applied with the praying-hands method was perfect. The product will last you a long time! Anyway, it took on my difficult locks and won! For this reason I wonder if it might be too much for people who have fine, healthy hair that's straight or only slightly wavy. First, I purchased this with my own $$ after seeing an article from The Kit so I was not paid or sponsored for this review! I just want to help my people find hair products that work b/c it’s hard to find!!! I have shoulder length relaxed hair with 3inches of curly new growth and I’ve been struggling to find a solution that allows me to moisturize and smooth my new growth while not weighing down my relaxed hair and CHILE, I found her! This serum is magical- I used JVN pre-poo oil(GAME CHANGER), then a full Olaplex treatment(no 0 for 1hr, then no 3 for 1hr, followed by 4+5) then I used a bean sized amount of this serum, mixed with a bean sized amount of Olaplex no6 and a pea sized amount of Pattern by TER leave in conditioner on wet hair. I use the LCO method, which I find is better for relaxed hair than the LOC method, so I layered a little Pattern Jojoba oil, Olaplex 7 and a smidge of castor oil on my roots and ends. It’s been a week and usually by now, my hair is dry, limp and crazy, but this serum has my hair bouncing and behaving!! It’s light, my hair is snatched and blends with my weave like I’ve never had before! This products has too much alcohol. It's very drying to African-American hair types. Do not use. Also, the price was too high for a bottle of mostly alcohol. I'm getting a refund. NOTE: A better choice for African-American hair types is Organix Argan Oil & Shea Butter Moisture Restore Weightless oil. It adds shine and a light protection for African American relaxed hair without weighting it down. I’ve used a few different argan oils for my hair, most common ones being the OGX and Hanz De Fuko Hair Oil. The Forte Series beats them both by a mile! I have fine hair, so those of you who are like me know it’s hard to find a good product that controls frizz while not weighing your hair down too much. This does just that! It’s not too oily and heavy (much like the OGX ) and does a better job controlling the frizz when compared to HDF Hair Oil. This stuff goes on super easy and evenly and leaves my hair soft all day. The scent is the same as the molding paste so no need to worry about clashing fragrances. Fine Hair Tip: after washing with shampoo and towel drying, I mix a drop of this in my hand with the Molding Paste as a pre-styler to give my hair so much more volume when blow drying!Matt M.

I was hesitant to buy this because of the bad reviews, but it was on offer in my local store so I thought I would try it out. I have naturally straight (with a very slight wave) and thick hair and I have been dealing with frizz and fly aways because of the summer humidity and wet weather. I use this serum in conjunction with the dream lengths conditioner (not the shampoo as it makes me look oily), wonder water, and no hair cut cream. It makes my hair soft and shiny without weighing it down or making it look oily. It tames frizz and flyaways but over time I need to reapply on dry hair to smooth it out again. An added bonus is that it smells great and it offers heat protection which will help with preventing frizz too! Overall I think it's a good serum for my hair type, but I guess it might not work so well for others.Carys25
Enjoying this hair serum on my fly away baby hairs this summer. It gives my hair a nice shine and not too oily if the right amount is used. I do have thin hair so if I overdo it, this is too much. The only reason it’s 4 stars is because it doesn’t last long at taming frizz. I find myself going back to apply more after a few hours if I can for a refreshed hair look. I have NATURAL HAIR. I have 3C curls. I typically don’t straighten my hair, it’s usually in it’s natural form. I’ve tested out a couple of products over the years, but many have failed to work. A lot of products tend to weigh my hair down and make it oil rather quickly. I purchased this product off of a single review written by a person of color. I hadn’t seen any accept one. I sectioned my hair and applied the product in dime size amounts to sections of my hair, distributing it with a denman brush. I used my Dyson blow dryer to straighten in and then the magic actually happened when the flat iron came into play. I really saw how effective the product was. It was smooth, flowing, and extremely shiny. I only applied a dime size amount of Olaplex before straightening and the Kérastase did all the magic actually. If any women of color are wondering if this product will work for your texture, I suggest you try it!caricha
Let me start with, if you use a blow dry brush, this product is AMAZING! Blow dry brushes speed up the drying process, but they are incredibly drying. I hadn't found a product until now that kept my hair from feeling dry after using the brush. Kerastase left my hair feeling soft and hydrated. It also doesn't leave an oily residue like some products. By the time I am done drying, my hair has volume and shine. It's fabulous. When I straighten or curl, it's even shinier than after simply blow drying. I love it! My hair feels so protected! I will be using this forever to protect my hair. I was so excited to give the Kerastase Heat Protecting Leave-in Treatment a try that I went straight to shampoo my hair. After towel-drying, I applied to my damp hair.
