I have owned this trimmer for just about a year and am still pleased with it. The only thing I wish could be improved is the speed of the trim. My cheap, discarded, $10 nose hair trimmer cut much quicker, but would often nick the inside of my nares. I have not once been nicked by this trimmer. Both my 33 year old son and I have very sensitive skin when it comes to shaving. Neither of us can use those plastic disposable razors, as they tear our skin up with razor rash. I use an expensive man's razor to shave my legs (and those blades cost an arm and a leg), but my son prefers to use the Wahl trimmer to shave his face. It gives him a great shave without irritation and he uses it to trim his sideburns as well. This is the 3rd set I have purchased for him in 6 years because when he travels, he leaves parts of them behind. This is a great beard trimmer. Not sure how else to say it but it feels compact and tight (in a good way) whereas other beard trimmers I've used felt like they could fall apart any second. Good power and the battery lasts a long time. AA battery. Don't use it on your hair (I have short hair and it didn't do anything except pull my hair). I like the nose trimmer is a separate device as well so you don't have to take the attachment piece off each time to switch between beard and nose trimmer. I am very pleased with my trimmers. Both peices work well, with a low noise level. I didn't realize they would require 3 aa batteries until I opened the package but that is probably my own fault for being in a hurry and assuming they would have internal rechargeable batteries. Bought this for my husband; he loves it. The attachments are a little different than usual he says, and it comes with a beard brush and no brush to clean your head and neck when the cut hair falls. But besides that, he has nothing but good things to say about it. He has thick hair and has shaved his head for years, so if he likes it that much, it says a lot.Nicole

The Remington Virtually Indestructible Haircut and Beard Trimmer Kit, HC5855, 15 pc, is every bit as good as the competition. For someone who prefers, to put it mildly, that all haircuts should be practiced in the home, by doing as many as people in the family will allow, I find this cutter is up to the task. Beside the very motivating notion that one is saving plenty of moola, the absolute commodity of having the work done in the oasis of the home, no driving-no risks-gas, just can not be beat, and this Remington HC5855, can surely do the job. The one issue that it is always brought up when suggestions of haircuts are voiced, is the question: Who is going to perform the haircut? And will this person have some training in this particular field? The answer I give is that a number one can be performed by all at almost perfection level, all it takes is a little practice. That is when the wisecracks get started, but about this product is that I have already performed my number one (same number since a very long time), and I was able to do it by myself with no problems, replacing a Braun product with this one, and the results surpassed my expectations as to the quality of haircut it could provide. I got this Remington Virtually Indestructible Haircut and Beard Trimmer Kit, 15 pc, because I usually end up having to cut my significant other's hair at home (we are trying to save some money) and because I'm not a professional it takes me almost an hour – and he's mostly balding on the top! Plus, I have a chronic pain condition that sometimes makes my hands ache, so trying to hold a comb, use the scissors to cut his hair, etc., makes my hands hurt quite a bit. There were a lot of items in this kit – besides the actual electric trimmer-type main part, there were probably 9 different comb attachments for either cutting hair or beard trimming; plus there was a brush, a regular comb, a small brush to clean out the razor head, oil for the trimmer, and a zippered bag to keep it all in. There also was the instruction manual. Usually I will read instruction manuals from cover to cover before attempting to use an item; but this is pretty straightforward, and I hate to admit it but I didn't even LOOK at the instructions. I picked out a comb to attach to the clippers so I wouldn't buzz-cut my significant other's hair but so it would be short especially since it's now almost summer. I started at the back, running the clippers with the comb attachment up to the crown of his head, keeping the thickest part of the bottom of the comb on his scalp so as to cut it to that length. The device was very comfortable in my hand, and it also has a long enough cord so you have room to work it around without having to be stuck right to the electric outlet. It took me about 10 minutes to cut his hair, including shaving his neck and trimming around his ears (which I did without the comb). The comb attaches very easily and securely yet is easy to remove to use the actual clippers or attach another comb onto the clipper head. Also it was extremely quiet; we could have a conversation in a normal volume of voice without having to yell over the noise of the clippers! Below I have a picture of the entire contents of the packaging as well as the back of my s/o's nicely cut hair and shaved neck. Didn't cut him one bit, as unfortunately I've done with the scissors on occasion. He loved the way it came out and the fact that he only had to sit still for 10 minutes. And he looks a whole lot better too – wish I had taken a "before" picture because I probably cut at least 2 inches off all the way around, but I really wanted to show the amount of stuff this clipper set comes with. We haven't yet had the opportunity to use the beard trimmer, as he is just starting to grow out his beard again, but I look forward to using the clippers to do that. If it comes out anywhere near as well as his haircut did, I will be more than pleased. If I could have given this item more than a 5/5 rating, I would have. Another great rotary in Philips' lineup. This series does solve the issue of many complaints regarding the detachable trimmer and heads of other Philips shavers – it has the traditional flip-top head and pop-up trimmer. This adds to the bulk of the shaver, body and head, but precludes having to keep track of a separate trimmer and remove the head for cleaning, and it works reasonably well, although for me the trimmer isn't quite as effective as the SmartClick attachments for the Series 9000 shavers. The ComfortGlide Rings really are effective, and provide a frictionless shave, although in this model they are slightly larger than the Anti-Friction rings of the S7940 for example, and require some maneuvering to get around tight areas. The Quick Clean pods use the same cleaning solution as the SmartClean cartridges for the SmartClean stations, which is excellent for cleaning and lubricating the shaver. The Quick Clean Pod is unpowered however, and uses the shaver's power, reducing it by about 1 percent per cleaning, although on a positive note doesn't require cords or cables and is more compact – actually usable for travel. The GroomTribe app is the Achilles Heel of all these Bluetooth shavers, and in particular this model (S7782), because there's no information regarding this particular shaver – the app seems exclusively to recognize only the S7940 shaver. On the plus side, the S7782 will connect, and it does record the shaving time and the percentage of rotation (which improves shaving efficiency), although the motion sensor algorithm in the shaver appears not to recognize the correct rotational movement about half the time. The good news is you don't actually need the app, and this shaver has an LED screen that provides all the essential information about the shaver, including battery life, cleaning information and the previously mentioned inaccurate rotation statistics. The shaving heads (SH71/52) only have a single cutting ring, but actually are comfortable and provide a very close shave. Overall, an excellent rotary from Philips, that provides a close, comfortable shave, warts and all, with the potential to improve with software updates to the app. Recommended.S7782

The Norelco S7000 is a very great shaver and I do recommend this electric shaver to all men especially men with sensitive skin which I have and I’m 50 years old and I have been searching for a shaver electric or not and it will not make my neck red or razor bumps. The reason why I’m giving my purchase review is because it came with a defective battery it won’t hold a charge for that long as Norelco says that it should. So I contacted the manufacture and told them of this and they mailed me a replacement shaver of the same type and the replacement does hold a charge unlike the first one that I bought. And if you have sensitive scan on your neck and when you shave you get a red neck from a razor and bumps then you really need to buy either the S7000 or the S9000 cause I can shave dry and I get awesome results and no redness or bumps and you would want to get the electric Norelco shaver that you can clean it using a cleaning pod. I will never go back to razor’s ever again and when I have wore it out I will buy another one. I did buy the S9000 because it comes with double the blades but either electric shaver will give you a very smooth clean shave.Baylein

I grew up with and have used Norelco rotary shavers and body groom tools all my adult life. My old one, probably close to 20 years now, still works but there is no availability of replacement heads anymore and some wear finally. This is an excellent shaver and I am very happy I got it. I considered the 3000 and 5000 series, but 3000 seems to use lower end heads, and while the 5000 uses the same as this, the hard travel case is essential to me and purchased as a separate accessory brings the cost close enough that it was worth it to just get the higher end kit. The shave is great; I haven't yet tried out the cleaning pod. The shaver cleans very well under running water following the instructions. I also have some extras from my previous Philips/Norelco products that I use with this, such as combs, cleaning brushes and a spare charger.Chris_P

Bought this recently and have been trying it out, as my old shaver was quite old and I needed an upgrade. This is definitely a step up! I find it really easy to use as it’s waterproof so suitable to use in and out of the shower. The battery lasts a long time between charging which really helps too. I tried this Braun shaver for a few days. The shaver has a nice sleek design and the added travel pouch is a bonus. Very easy hand grip. Battery power is good and lasts a long while. It can be a little noisy, but not too bad. It's very good for close shaving, but sadly fails when used for edges of beards/moustaches. I bought this a week ago. It fits well in the hand, though a little heavy. I was able to use straight away, even though it suggested it needed a charge first. After first use there were some hairs that hadn’t trimmed to the same length, especially around the moustache. However there was no irritation and the whole shave was quick. I am very impressed with the unplugged cordless straightener. My first impressions as someone who is always running late is that these will be an absolute game changer for me. They are fairly small and compact and come with a lovely heatproof carry case which is perfect for putting in your bag. I genuinely think I will use these on the go or in the car on those occasions when I haven't had time to fully style my hair. The unplugged straighteners come with a usb-c charging cable and adaptor and took around 2 hours to fully charge. The straighteners have a handy battery level indicator light so you know how much charge you have. I curled my hair with the straighteners which took me around 15 minutes and the battery level had dropped 1 bar. The plates are smaller than the usual GHD stylers, but I still found them to be up to temperature and highly effective in both curling and straightening my hair. My hair is medium thickness and length for reference. The straighteners themselves are very stylish looking. Overall I am really impressed and consider these straighteners to be a good addition to my hair styling collection. For me, the GHD unplugged straightener has proven to be a real game changer…it’s a cordless styler that can not only be used on the go but also charged easily via a number of sources whilst delivering the same results that I see from my main corded GHD straightener. I initially thought my GHD unplugged would solely be used for travel, particularly with it being approved for safe travelling in both hand luggage and hold luggage, but after seeing the same results on my hair as my main GHD styler I have found myself taking my unplugged straightener in to the office to fix my style before heading out for drinks/dinner straight from work and they have even become my go to quick fix styler if I just need a quick top up in a morning instead of a full style or just before a meeting. I have personally charged the GHDs using a traditional plug socket as well as using my laptop and can say the performance and charge from each source delivered the same charge results (these can also be charged from the car which I haven’t yet tried but think this is a great feature and will no doubt try out). The battery on this styler isn’t designed to last for hours and so from the first charge I logged how many uses I got out of the straightener and found this to be 2 full straight styles plus 3 style top ups which was around 20-25 minutes use (for reference I have normal thickness hair which is just below shoulder length). One thing to note is that it can’t be used whilst it is being charged, however, as it has the ability to charge on the go due to the USB-C charging cable this hasn’t been an issue for me; there is also a battery level indicator on the tool itself which is super useful to help you know when to charge. One thing that really stands out is just how lightweight and compact the straightener is with another key element for me being that the plates don’t seem to have been compromised in either the technology or their size which came as a pleasant surprise. This straightener is great! I have used it every day since receiving it to style my hair. I have shoulder length, really straight hair and have always struggled to curl it with straighteners in a way that didn’t just look like a kink in the middle – these straighteners changed that! I found that the narrower plates resulted in more defined curls than traditional straighteners achieve. I also usually struggle to curl my hair with straighteners but it was so much easier with the Unplugged. The absence of a power cable meant that I could turn it as I curled and angle it around my head more effectively! The curls the Unplugged produced also lasted really well in my heavy, very straight hair. The main thing I was worried about with the Unplugged was the battery life as I have a lot of hair! I cannot do a ‘perfect’ head of curls on a full charge but I was able to do a decent textured curl style (took about 15 min) with enough battery to top up later in the day. I then charge it overnight to top up my curls the next day (I sleep in a silk cap to preserve my style). The Unplugged is also small and light enough to put it in your bag to top up your style throughout the day if needed. I chuck mine into my heavy rucksack that I use for the commute and don’t even notice the addition. If you want a styler for tighter curls and on the go, I would recommend the Unplugged!Whale

I bought this shaver about a month ago after my Braun shaver quit on me after two years. I've had Norelco's in the past as did my dad. There was a comment made by one person that he didn't like this shaver because he felt the motor wasn't fast enough. I found this to be true however the motor is quiet and there are three cutting head with a lot of blades. Thinking logically, if the motor was any faster, there's a good chance that the blades would miss some hairs. Of all the Norelco's I've had in the past, this one is the best. The main shaver head along with the 3 cutting heads give a very close shave and conforms to your face, jawline and Adam's apple where my old Braun didn't. I use Williams Electric Shave for lubrication and have yet to have any razor burn. For cleaning, pop open the shaver head and rinse with warm water. There are three indicator lights which tell you when the shaver is fully charged and when it'll need to be charged up again. For $60.00, this shaver at least for me is worth every penny.Dakasis

The shaver does a good job, I have had bad experiences with electric shavers in the past where the blades have pulled on my facial hair and it hurts that even before I would shave I would use the back razer to shorten my facial hair so I could shave my face or I would just use the back razer to shave completely. with this electric shaver, I can get a good shave without the blades pulling on my facial hair. there is a lot of confusion on what I can use with the shaver, like Lectric Shave or can I use shaving cream, the user manual doesn't give enough instructions. it's great that it comes with a case for the shaver and the charger, but the shaver is difficult to fully clean out like dumping out all the hairs that the shaver collects, also you are only recommended one accessory, and that accessory is no longer available and it's an important product because it's used to clean the head of the shaver.Hunter11

I found that my new shaver does a credible job. I enjoy the fact that it's waterproof and can be washed after use. However, it was supposed to show a warning light when the battery became low, and it didn't do that, and I was caught one morning not being able to shave because the battery needed recharging. I've been using a Norelco shaver for more than 20 years (Model #6843XL) even after the battery could no longer be charged by plugging it in until even plugging it in would no longer work. So being 94 years old, I assume that this will be my last shaver I'll have to buy if this one is as good as my last one.Maftir

I'm going to be honest – this product burned my face. I do have sensitive skin, but I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and this was just too much. It almost seemed like I had to cake the mixture on my face for it to even work. Sometimes it was very successful while other times, I was pretty disappointed. This works like a charm on my long, dark, thick arm hair. I know I shouldn't be so self-conscious abiout it, but it really makes a difference in my self-esteem when it is lightened. Be careful to measure carefully. If you use too much powder it may sting and itch a little bit. If it does, just use some body lotion after you rinse it off, and it will take care of it right away.Christine

I was wary of this product because of some reviews saying it doesn't work, but I'm so glad I bought this :') I have been growing a small patch of really thick, dark hairs under my chin/ jaw about the size of a quarter. I've tried plucking and shaving but it only makes them grow back ingrown. I finally decided to let the little whiskers grow out and I felt so ugly until I tried this kit! Being a middle age adult male, nose hair is a common thing I have to deal with. It feels like I buy 6 nose hair trimmers a year because they either fall apart or get rusty. This one feels like it might be a better quality trimmer on multiple levels. It comes with removable heads which are cleanable, and the heads appear to be more durable than some of the other heads on the cheaper trimmers I've purchased. Also, to keep everything together it's got a nice pouch for storage. How well does it work? Like I put in the headline, I can breathe through my nose again and that feeling Is AMAZING, it will probably lead to fewer headaches too. I used three of the functions of the device: nose hair trimming, ear trimming and eyebrow trimming. I had no need for the beard detailer without a beard. The nose trimmer I simply inserted in the nose and moved it around the edges and rotated a bit until I didn't hear any more hairs being ripped out. The ear trimmer seemed to do a good job, I could hear it zapping hairs as I moved it around my ear, I used the rotary cutter for that. And the eyebrow trimmer didn't cut a lot but it thinned it a little which was good. Philips Norelco – Nose Trimmer – Black/Silver The Philips Norelco nose trimmer is a compact battery operated trimmer that works very well. It is easy to use and I found it to be very effective in helping with my grooming needs. I especially liked the attachments for trimming the eyebrows. There are two attachment size options and they do a very good job of safely trimming near the eyes. It is very quick and takes no time at all to use. The same can be said for both the fine trimmer and the nose trimmer. It is easy to swap attachments back and forth and they all work very well. I was also glad to have the included travel pouch although I think it is probably the biggest disappointment in all of the included accessories. Still it is helpful to have so I was glad it was included. I didn’t like that included instructions since they are all on a one page sheet of paper and it's kind of klugy to unfold and read. I would have preferred to have them in a small booklet but they do tell you everything you need to know and once you start using the kit you won’t need them later anyway. I think it is safe to expect many years of service from this trimmer set and I have been very satisfied with all of the Philips products I have used.Reddog

This is a fairly standard nose hair trimmer, washable heads, with a few extra attachments. Overall, I find it to be effective, does its job as it claims to. There is no pulling or yanking of hairs when I use this, which I appreciate, however I find the cutting to be rather slow not as thorough as I would like it to be, which means I have to go over the same area more times than I find necessary. The metal trimmer doesn't cut longer hairs effectively, I seem to have a difficult time positioning the trimmer at the right angel to grab the longer hairs to either cut them down completely or at least trim to a shorter length then cut them again. The hairs that are short do not present the same problem. I have used the eyebrow trimmer and the detailer as well, those seem to be too gentle and don't cut the hairs on first contact. It requires only one AA battery, which means this is portable for travel, however its size is larger than the trimmer I currently use, so I would not bring it on trips. The design is modern, but rather industrial and basic, I would have liked it to be more sleek. The construction feels sturdy, seems like it would endure a drop or two, but I don't anticipate this happening because the material used provides a firm grip.dcyw

This is a great, double system which works (when new) extremely well in removing even the smallest hairs from the ear or nose. Huge problem is that I have bought at least a half dozen of these units over the past 3 years, because they fail to start much of the time without a light tap or two — and after a couple of months, ultimately fails to start at all. I remove the battery each time for storage, keep the unit clean and covered, so there seems to be an issue with the motor, wiring connectors or the switch itself. I have tried other trimmers, but this is the only one available with the extra small blade for the close areas.Steve413

GiGi is great brand. I've always used (+10 years) their jar of wax, strip-free, and although a bit messy, I've learned to use it, almost hassle-free. I didn't care for this style of waxing…personal choice; however, I'd recommend others to at least try it. See if it works for them… It's a good price and was worth the experiment for me, anyway. So I am used to waxing my own eyebrows, however, because of a recent deployment, I was not able to bring my Gigi waxer along. I found these on amazon and decided to give them a try. They are for sensitive skin and worked great! I give them 4 stars only because I had to also tweeze my eyebrows a little bit more than usual and because you have to rub them to warm them up. These are easy to use and work well for stubborn chin hair. The instructions are straighforward and I like that the kit also comes with lotion for you to wipe off any extra wax. It did take 5 passes to remove all the visible chin hair from one side of my face, and just one pass for the other side. So I can see that results may vary. I’ve only used this once. The plum beauty personal hair trimmer is great. I like that it has 2 different size trimmers, and that it also has a guard that my husband can put on to help trim his beard/mustache. The only thing that I didn't like was that it wasn't as close a shave as I would have liked. I have dark eyebrows and you can still see the trimmed pieces, so I had to use it every couple of days. But in the long run it was much easier and less painful than waxing, so it was definitely worth it!!Kitty42111

It’s ok, it works, I’ve had no issues getting the battery in or out even though that compartment seems to be a bit more towards an oval shape. I’ve used it several times without major issue. It does always sounds like it’s about to quit working, switched the battery and it still sounds that way so it is what it is. It gets the 12 little hairs off my chin every 2 weeks so I’m happy about that. Beyond that I’m not a fan and wouldn’t buy again. I’ve tried another product from this brand and didn’t like that either. Might be something with the materials used…Becky

After searching for a multi tool for hair removal i finally broke down and bought 3 separate tools. This one i bought for facial hair, specifically nose hair. I dont know why there are so few nose hair trimmers marketed toward women. I dont need to trim my haircut too, but most of the multi tool trimmers that include a nose hair trimmer are marketed to men who also want a haircut trimmer. This one works great so far. I pulled too hard on it trying to get the comb part off and it came apart in multiple pieces. The good news is that they all snapped together easily and nothing broke. I like it for trimming my eyebrows too! The most difficult part of using this is getting it out if the package. It's sealed in there like it is on permanent display at a museum.Beachgirl

Don't get your expectations too high. Performance not that great. Only can handle very very very very very very very short stubble. I initially thought there was malfunction and I just got a bad set. My Wahl trimmers did as good or better. Took a long time to get an good smooth shave. I should have done better research of other brands. I doubt you will print this review.william

In the barber trade, Andis and Wahl are the big names in clippers shavers. When it comes to tools for finishing fades, the Andis Profoil and Wahl Shaver Shaper are the benchmarks. I bought the Andis because I like the way the shaver blades are staggered. The performance is outstanding. You shave as close as you want. But I'd have to caution anyone using this tool not to bear down hard because you'll be pushing the blades with far too much force against the foil which will wear down the foil and blades prematurely and might even produce a razor burn. Just take it easy and you'll have great results in short order.7373markh

Purchased this product online, delivery was on time and well packaged! Upon opening the package, the device itself looked nice and sharp but it felt rather cheap for the amount of money spent. While trying to test it out I noticed that the charge cord was as flimsy and useless as they come. The darn thing won't stay plugged into the device, it didn't bother me much as I started using it after the required initial charge duration. All the lights indicators worked fine. My first shave was smooth and efficient but after 2 weeks of use, the shaver was blunt as a rock. Though I cleaned it often it didn't help, then I noticed that the shiny bronze look has not turned into some dingy color. Anyway, I will not recommend this gadget to anyone unless you feel like burning some money. This is my honest and humble opinionbantuman01

My prior electric razor (Braun 3010s) was made of mostly plastic and the quick-change attachments were prone to breaking. By the time I admitted to myself that I needed a new razor I was limping along at about 50% capacity. The beard trimmer was also so loud (either by design or due to some other breakage) that it would wake my wife out of a dead sleep while I shaved in the morning. I told myself I needed a durable razor, and this delivers. The clippers and body are of solid construction and are so quiet I'm sure I could shave right next to her and she'd never wake up. The attachments are versatile, numerous, and made of a better and stronger plastic blend than my prior razor's. My only downsides so far are twofold. 1) all the accessories are cumbersome – I recommend purchasing a case (there's a nice one on Amazon) for storage. It would be better if Philips had a package deal with an in-house case so I didn't have to shop thru Amazon. 2). The blades are SHARP. More…sensitive areas of your body need either a different razor or a large guard; else it'll look like a wolverine mauled it. I speak from experience.Thomas01

This trimming kit is the bomb!!! I have gone through many different trimming kids in the past and they never last very long but this one seems to be standing the test of time as I have had it so far for twice the time I’ve had others. It’s a very solid and well made trimmer. It has all the attachments you would ever need to get any type of trimming job done. Whether it be your mustache or beard or your nose and ear hair it has you covered. The battery lasts a very long time and the recharge time is quick as well. You should always keep your blades oiled up so that you get an optimal cut every single time. The power is great and provides an even in solid trim each and every time. After several clips with this, I am pleased. Lithium battery holds a charge far longer than standard clipper. Head adjuster lever is VERY stiff. On/Off switch should be moved up closer to the top on the opposite side to make it easier to reach. Cuts real close if you need it to. Plenty of power.MikeyDog

During our mandated shelter in place, stay at home time, hair still grows! This was a god-send from Conair & Sharper Image. By using the graduated combs and the included pamphlet suggestions, I was able to NOT scalp my husband. He approved of the haircut. I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome.CEM

This is my second one blade so the fact that I ordered another one says it all! As someone with very sensitive, acne and in grown hair prone skin I was never able to shave using the traditional razor and shaving cream method. I have tried out many hand held razors from cheap to very expensive but none of them lasted more than a few months never mind an entire year. I saw the one blade at my local pharmacy and decided to try it as I’ve had decent success with norelco in the past. This was the shaver I’ve needed and wanted all my life! The flat head design ensures stability while shaving and also makes it incredibly easy to shape my beard, side burns etc. What I love the most about the one blade is that it shaves the skin pretty much as close as a regular razor without the “side effects” of a traditional razor. No longer do I suffer with acne, razor bumps or irritation after shaving. This new one blade greatly improves upon the first iteration in the design of the guides and charging stand. The first one had individual length guides that didn’t really stay on that well and no charging base. I love the design of this new model because the guide stays on even while trimming the jawline and the lcd screen shows how much charge is left. For how small this thing is it has always held a charge very well. I shave about every week-ish and a full charge lasts about a month depending on how much I shave. The disposable heads last a long time as well given I tidy-up the thicker hair of the torso and below the belt, using a separate blade of course. My first one blade has lasted me over 3 years and it would probably still work if I didn’t drop it so much. To sum up my review, if anyone has had the same issues as I have using a traditional razor than I implore you to give this a try! Your skin will thank you!JNYC

I have always struggled with shavers, I am fair haired and my beard grows slowly so I usually go clean shaven but recently I have tried some different lengths of beard. With this Oneblade Pro I can manage the length easily, the guard comes with an adjustable comb so you can set it between 0.5 and 10mm, the best bit about that is it adjusts so simply with a turn of the wheel, the numbers are nice and clear so it's easy to set where you want it and it also doesn't move while shaving so you get a good even shave. I have attached a couple of photos, when I heard I was getting this I let my beard grow out so it was pretty long and untamed, for the first try I basically took it all off with a combination of using the guard and then removing it for a smooth finish, you can see the difference and it was an effortless shave no fuss and a nice smooth face. Battery life wise it's great so far, charged up once, used every day for a week and it's still going strong, I am guessing it will need charging soon but I can't complain at all. It is comfortable in the hand and us really sinple to use, the rotating head makes shaving so easy and it follows the contours of your face very well. It.comes with an extra blade for body shaving which I haven't used yet but its good to have the option. It comes with a standard 2 pin shaving plug for the bathroom socket and the lead is long enough to not cause any issues. It's much better for me than having to use a beard trimmer if I want to have some decent stubble and have a separate razor for when I want to be clean shaved, this does both really well and I would recommend it to anyone.Mooseman34

I will start this review by saying that I've exclusively used electric razors basically since I discovered what they were after I started shaving. I've used many different types and qualities over the years to varying levels of success. Unfortunately, the Philips Norelco Oneblade Pro fails to live up to the hype. In concept, the idea is interesting and unique, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. To start, the blade touts itself as being able to handle all lengths of hair, and I had gone almost 2 weeks without a shave (which is uncommon for me) so I figured what better way to test it. I tend to shave my neck clean and leave a bit of a 2-3 day shadow on my face so that's what I aimed for. While it accomplished this task, it was much more difficult and took much longer than my traditional method. I started with clean saving using the Oneblade without the guard on it, and it does well enough, although since it only cuts along the top and bottom edges, I found covering large flat areas to be a bit of an interesting experience. Since it doesn't cut directly under the flat middle part of the blade, you have to be sure there is room to move the blade up and down around it without cutting hair you don't want cut. The angle of the blade on the base does not lend itself to this experience. Trying to angle it without flipping it over is nearly impossible, and flipping it over means the teeth of the blade are directly against your skin. Fortunately the rounded edges do save you from any terrible mishaps, but it still does not lend itself to a very easy shaving experience. Once I finished the clean shaven portion of my neck, I attached the comb and set it to '3' (which I imagine is something akin to 3mm of my old Philips Norelco comb. It does manage to keep a consistent 3mm cut throughout, but it's like taking a weed-eater to a full yard of 5ft weeds. Yes, it CAN do it, but it does not do it well. As the blades cut the hair, it would just pile up and jam into the top of the comb until the comb and blades so full of hair they could no longer reach my face, and instead required me to remove the comb, tap out the hair and brush off the blades. The other strange thing about this design is that with the comb installed, only one of the two cutting edges is in use, which means if you only ever use it with the comb installed, or mostly use it with the comb installed, you will dull one side of the blade much sooner than the other. The blade cannot be flipped over to allow you a fresh cutting edge on the side that you use less. One thing I will mentioned about this, is that it is more comfortable than any travel razor I've ever used. So for travel, I would choose it over most other options if you're not willing to pack a bigger or bulkier razor. Bottom line, It will accomplish what it set out to do, but unfortunately it does not do any of those things well. It's comfortable, if a little strange to use and does not nick or cut the skin even if you have to use it at strange angles. But for the same tasks there are better options.Beradon

Being old-school, I was reluctant to purchase the newer laser type levelers when they first came out almost two decades ago. The technology was available for use in the construction industry, however, I was a bit slow in converting over because I already had a 50 year collection of multiple sizes and types of levels. I wasn't ready to make the jump to this newer "Laser" technology, and so I remained with my old-school levels. But then… About 3 years ago, I started preparing for my retirement, and part of that process was to have a plan "B" in case I needed to go back to work. My choice for plan "B" was the construction business. And so, after extensive research for the brand, and quality, of tools that I would need for this possible adventure, I decided to go with the "DeWalt" 20v MAX collection of tools due to their reliability over the years. I was NOT disappointed! I had my eyes on DeWalt's DW08825LG 12v 5-Spot + Green Line Laser Kit, however, being deterred by its cost, I decided to start off with more of an entry level laser, and so I chose the DW088 series of lasers. I then went through a struggle with choosing between the Red or Green laser models. Research showed the Green laser to be a bit brighter and easier to see in daylight over the Red one, so I went with the DW088CG model. (I also picked up a DW08801 Red laser for comparison, which is shown in the photos below). (Depending on your lighting, and the coloration of the material reflected on, both the Red & GRN lasers have their advantages over the other). I was indirectly then attracted to the DW088 laser series because of its lower cost, (easily affordable), its small, light weight of 3.5 lbs, (ease of portability), its use of 3 1.5v AA batteries, (easily attainable), and its ability to mount in diverse ways; plus, it was "Self Leveling." It has an attached 180 degree integrated magnetic pivoting mount, which also has a 1/4" X 20 thread on the bottom of the unit for mounting to a standard camera tripod. The magnets allow attachment to most metal objects, such as the metal drywall strip on most internal wall corners, as shown in one of my photos. It also includes another detachable bracket that connects magnetically, and allows further mounting options such as ceiling brackets, nails, etc… and is contained within its own DeWalt molded "hard case" for protection and storage. *** I REALLY like the DeWalt HARD cases!!! *** The DW088CG laser uses a "constant pulse" for detection with an optional DW0892G Green Line Laser Detector that allows detection up to a distance of 165'. (Always pay attention to the fine print, which says it can achieve a range of 165' WITH a detector), [sold separately]. The laser's "visible" range is 100' without the detector. I have measured this and I have achieved a distance greater than 100', which is very significant for its intended use. I do NOT own a detector, therefore, I am unable to verify the MAX range of the unit with the use of said detector. The Self-Leveling feature allows the unit to be "auto-corrected" within a +/- 4 degree tilting of the device without any outside adjustment. If tilted beyond this limit, the "Out of Tilt" Range Indicator will cause the laser beam to "FLASH" until manually brought within the +/- 4 degrees of tilt, (Level/Plumb). This was a GREAT advantage for me in the use of the lasers to level and plumb the fabrication of my barn stalls, in that I did NOT have to use the cumbersome "string levels", neither did I have to constantly "dodge" the strings that held them, along with the "re-leveling" of them every time they were run into, or an adjustment was made to a post, or such… The first thing that I wanted to do was to check and verify its accuracy, so I setup the laser at the end of my 40' hallway and went through the calibration procedures. (These measurements were also double checked with my "physical" levels for comparison). Being a DeWalt product, I was expecting things to be BETTER than what was stated on the brochures, which was +/- 1/8" at 30'. My results at 40' as recorded in one of the photos below, was quite a bit tighter than the specifications; the Horizontal Beam, Scan Direction being 1/16th", the Horizontal Beam, Pitch Direction being 1/32nd", and the Vertical Beam at 12' was 1/16th". All of these results far exceeded the specification requirements of the product, as recorded within the manual. (I did notice, however, that the printed manual included with my 1st laser, was now replaced with only a digital version for my 2nd laser). [Ouch!] There are actually two separate lasers in this product; one for the vertical plane, and one for the horizontal plane. Why have not purchased one of these before. All spirit levels redundant. levelling kitchen cabinets, wall and floor tiling, shelving, even used to align a large area of laminate flooring, the list is endless. A must have for any professional. Cross, vertical and horizontal lines, everything plumb. Went for the "green" as recommended by other users. The magnet is really strong, easy to adjust and I did have a standard camera tripod which fits perfectly. Anyone thinking of buying one just do it, brilliant.RalphDavid

I am a HVAC contractor, I have been wanting a small laser because having a straight line for reference is always handy when running pipe or conduit. Measuring and marking works, but I would then have to find the always missing tape measure! The AA batteries had me nervous as far as longevity of use, but I was pleasantly surprised! The unit came in a carrying case, which is a must for any laser. The case is tough and holds all the stuff for the laser including a spot for batteries. Instructions are minimal, but sufficient, the flashing laser beam confused me, but a quick search explained that the unit was too far out of level to auto correct. Initially I had to adjust my expectations as I am accustom to 360 degree lasers, once reminded that this unit is a baby laser not a big boy I was good! I like the brackets for different mounting situations, I LOVE the magnet. My "big boy" 360 laser is much more costly and cumbersome to haul around, the portability and ease of use make this tool really handy! Beam: Green is easier to see, reach of the beam is acceptable. Rugged-yup I've dropped it with no issues. I loaned it to a general contractor friend of mine, He was impressed with the visibility of the green laser, its reach and longevity of batteries. Did I mention I love the magnet for mounting.2story1

It’s very close in style and function to the Remington all in one grooming set, but there is an unfortunate difference. First, it may be more powerful than the Remington, but the blade is almost too sharp, as I nearly cut myself at least three times. Second and more importantly, it is a struggle to remove the beard combs from the initial blade without taking off that blade at the same time. I found that I had to hold the trimmer in place to be able to take the comb off. These attachments are too secure and they shouldn’t be. I bought the Wahl unit to replace my broken down Remington, which had lasted for more than two years, thinking that it might be better. In this case I was wrong. For your safety, go with the Remington.Matt

Had to replace my Other beard trimmer as it started to malfunction. I have a Wahl Hair Clipper set which is great. This trimmer however is the worst I have ever used. The attachments are poorly designed and lead to poor trimming. The blade itself has a hard time trimming a single wild hair from my beard or mustache. The motor bogs down very quickly and I have to oil it several times during a single grooming session after a full nights charge. I wish I would have kept the packaging so I could return it. I now need to buy another trimmer as this is unacceptable and irritating to use.Nicholas

DO NOT BUY. I recently decided to "upgrade" from my Gillette All-Purpose Styler after having it for 2 years. Was very excited to move try out this Trimmer (especially since it came with a charger and was eco-friendly – i.e. I didn't have to keep buying batteries). Having any kind of good expectations for this trimmer was my first mistake… Do yourself a favor and just never buy this product… First of all – it's cheap. It FEELS cheap. I spent $20 for the Gillette trimmer and thought THAT was cheap. Paying $30+ for this product is RIDICULOUS. ***NOTE: I know this product is now on sale and is going for a cheaper price. If it were me, I wouldn't pay $5 for this crap. Don't waste your time. Second – This product LITERALLY falls apart. I would go to trim my beard, shave my face, etc. and the top would just pop right off. When you go to switch heads (i.e. from trimmer to buzzer to any of the other 5 faces this trimmer has, it would loosen the top. So guess what? Next time you shave that sucker is coming right off immediately and you have to hold the top down. Just ridiculous and poor quality. Third – THE BATTERY LIFE SUCKS. Again, was pumped to move from a battery-requiring trimmer to a rechargeable trimmer. Boy was I wrong… I would charge this trimmer for hours, even DAYS… The longest this trimmer has EVER lasted me was 20 minutes max. It would average 5-10 minutes. Not even kidding I got halfway through a shave and it died (again… takes hours to charge) so I was left with half of a beard. Had to use my wife's razor and straight shave the rest of my face. Will never forget that. Coming full circle – just save yourself the pain and regret and buy Gillette. OR – pay for a nicer brand. Whatever you do – don't buy Wahl. This was the first and last Wahl experience I will ever have. Good luck all!Josh

After switching to a foil shaver (Braun 700 series) a half-year ago, I got fed up with the perpetual stubble and fine hairs it left on my face. So, today I gave in and bought this Norelco 5100 series (I'd been a Norelco user for decades before the Braun purchase). It only took the first shave after charging and my face was smooth again. I guess my face must be made for the rotary heads, because the foil shaver just didn't cut it for me. This shaver will also allow me to remove and clean the individual heads, something my last Norelco would not let me do (greatly reducing the effective life of the blades, which would eventually clog up no matter how good you were about trying to clean them). I can't speak to how well this shaver is going to hold up, since it's only Day One, but my experience with Norelco in the past has been a good one.LarryB

I have had previous Norelco units just like this. So i trusted the brand and the model here. I have never been so disappointed in one of these as I am today. The blade assembly at the top always felt mechanically sound and made of good material. The 5100 Series however seems of lesser quality it is bulky and the sound of the plastic can be heard as you use it. I would never try and use this with anything other than a dry surface. This qualtiy is too cheap to deal with the issue of water seeping in and clogging up with the shavings inside. 2 weeks into using the 5100 the blue plastic holding in the blade fell out. This little blue ring is the mechanical connection holding the blade in place. Why this wasn't built into the assembly with a stronger, studier frame is beyond me. Something QA should pick up on. So now I have to place it back with delicate care each time as I had taken the time to read through and line up exactly how it needed to be. The issue here being is that these don't seem to be able to be held up through regular cleaning to try and protect the life of the unit by clogging up the blades. Overall did it do the job when it was working at full capacity? Kind of. The bulkiness and placement of the blades make it awkward to get a clean consistent shave. Would I recommend this to others? Never.DN

So far it seems okay. The cutting is better than panasonic but not as good as wahl. I prefer a T-blade for a quicker trim. I'm happy with the settings as I like to adjust beard length as this does go all the way to 20mm (I'd prefer 25mm). The longer clip attachment has unnecessarily sharp edges; I don't know why they didn't make it like the shorter clip, and clips seem delicate. I wish philips provided a better case, or at least sold one as an extra. The body seems unnecessarily large/long when compared to other trimmers.Blurgh
