20 Best Mens Pubic Hair Trimmer (Feb 2023 Update)

I want to love all of the manscaped so bad. What I do love, is the blade and how it does not Knick or cut you. I’m a woman, I use it and my husband uses it and we both like that feature.
That is the only reason why it’s getting 1 star and not 5.

What is REALLY lame about the rest of it is the battery life and speed/ability to cut through course hair. It takes about 5+ hours to charge, and once it is charged you have about 2 mins of usage until the motor slows down and your battery life light is back to red. And yes I did actually time it all. SUPER LAME!!

I love the idea about not getting cut, it being water resistant, easy to use and it not being large but it just doesn’t cut it to be all it’s hyped to be.J Shall

Thing worked fine for a while, until it sliced my coin purse open. The “skinsafe” cutting head sliced me open like a razor knife. Wrote to customer service about it, their response was to offer a replacement head. Thanks but no thanks.
Then my trimmer became possessed. It would turn itself on and off randomly. It woke me up one night buzzing away after it had jumped off the counter onto the tile floor. I turned it off only to have it turn back on again seconds later. Tried plugging it into the charger, no dice. Still turned itself on. So I took the head off it and left it in the sink bowl so it couldn’t damage anything else.
Customer service offered a free replacement. I accepted and gave my mailing address. They sent me a replacement CUTTING HEAD. FOR THE TRIMMER I CANT EVEN USE ANYMORE.

It stopped working after less than 15 uses. I use it as intended, but also on my head if my fuzz gets to long for a Bic. First of all, I think a handheld Bic is safer, iv cut myself dozens of with this, and second it broke after a dozen of so uses. It is supposed to under warranty, but when I emailed I said if it's not covered under warranty and this is the quality of product I can expect, I wish to cancel all subscriptions. They canceled all subscriptions. Just shows that they don't even stand behind their own product.michael walker

This trimmer is powerful. It handles the corners like it's on rails! It glides effortlessly over the hairiest parts without so much as a howdie doo. It cuts close and even better, it doesn't take much time. I don't know who at Ballsy was responsible for this mystical hair destroyer, maybe magical unicorns on the island of smooth, but it's fantastic. I highly recommend this as once again, their products are top notch. My wife loves using it on me too and let's just say, I never knew shaving my undercarriage could inspire such acrobatic events as from my wife after she applies this to my nethers with the utmost of care.Dean M.

I got the B & B Trimmer for my husband for our wedding anniversary which was on August 29th. He has tried it several times now but unfortunately does not like it because, "It does not give me a close enough shave." He's been using a razor for years which he says gives him a much closer shave. I didn't realize when I ordered it for him that the return period was only 30 days. I want to thank you All at Ballsy for creating this trimmer for me!!!! Once I charged it up I couldn't wait to give it try because I had a lot of hair there that I was aoo ready to get rid of. I uses it bedwetting in the shower and I have to say that it was not only easy to grip it was formed to move nicely along on ……area with no concerns of nicks and snagging of hair. I must admit I would get nervous and scared to run anything along my private areas that had a blade and motorized. This trimmer seems more solidly-made and feels better in my hand vs. the competing Norelco products. It also is much quieter and smoother operating, and seems to cut more quickly (though I'm comparing a new Panasonic vs. an older/used Norelco, but I could swear that the Norelco never cut as fast as the Panasonic). I also like the pop-up trimmer which is much simpler to deal with vs. Norelco's swappable cutting heads (the plastic tabs on the Norelco's has the habit of easily snapping off). The adjustable cutting length dial works great with solid/definitive clicks between settings (and the solid comb seems less prone to break vs. the hinged and ready-to-break-apart one on my old Norelco). I also like the cutting range of 1-10mm with comb "A" and 11-20mm with comb "B". The longest setting I use is 10mm so it means that I never have to swap combs (those that cut longer than 10mm do may not find this a plus). However, I am deducting a star from the Panasonic for its few negatives. First it uses an Ni-MH battery vs. the newer-tech Li-Ion battery so the Panasonic run times and battery life aren't gonna be as good as they could be. There's little excuse for Panasonic not to have by now upgraded a premium item like this to the latest and greatest battery technology. The pop-up trimmer is a bit too wide to fit into tight spaces (vs. the one on my previous Norelco). And the battery lights (why are there three when one would do the job?) only indicate when the unit is charged – it doesn't provide a low battery indication like on my old Norelco (or the newer one's too). Again for a premium item like this the three LED's should be red, yellow & blue colored (or some other color combo) and also operate like a battery gauge. Finally, and not a real deal killer, is the need to oil the blades. Conclusion – a high-quality product (especially vs. the competing Norelco's) that is hampered a bit by the lack of some higher-tech bells & whistles that it deserves to have at this price point (especially vs. the much cheaper Norelco's).ira_gold

I’ve been using this for almost a year and I’m still happy with it. Most beard trimmers are either expensive or are cheaply made (ie, made out of cheap, hollow plastic). This one is a happy medium, it’s not expensive and it’s pretty solid. I only paid $50 for it. My last one was a Phillips, I believe. It was one that had those expensive, disposable replacement blades. That thing was like $80 (and the blades were ≈ $10/month) and it was a piece of junk. I hated that thing. But, this trimmer is MUCH better. I love the ease of the hight adjustment, it is by far my favorite feature. Also, the battery life is excellent. Admittedly, I do not use this a lot because I’m kind of lazy about trimming my beard, but I’ve only had to charge this half a dozen times. The only thing I don’t like is the pop up trimmer (which I use on my neck). It just doesn’t work as well as others I’ve used.PAlB

I WOULD be leaving 5 stars on this, because I absolutely loved my Manscaped trimmer. Until I bought TWO and both broke. Spent around $200 now. First time, bought and loved it. I used it till I died. Then I went to charge it and it lit up for a while, came back and whole thing was dead. I was like damn okay maybe I over charged it or got water in it on accident. Bought a new one. When it died this time I was EXTRA careful. I let it sit out for two days to dry before charging. I only let it charge for 20 minutes at a time. SAME THING HAPPENED. Neither charger nor device will work, on either set now and I’m so bummed and frustrated that I wasted all this money.Hannah McCoy

Have used this for almost a year now and really love it. The battery life is super long. The LED light is an essential, you know downstairs isn't always well lit. Waterproof is perfection, why get hair on your floor when you can let it go down the drain. The guards are essential, virtually impossible to cut yourself with one in place. It fits my hand perfectly and is surprisingly lightweight. The charger stand (wireless charging) uses a standard USB-C connector, so no worries if you lose the adapter included. Charging is fast and easy, The concept of a separate trimmer for upstairs beard and another for downstairs just makes too much sense. So if you are going for smooth look – the Manscaped razor is fantastic and works perfectly. However, unless the hair is about 1/4 inch or less, the razor plugs up really fast. The mower takes care of that. Pre-trim with the mower, then hit it with the razor. Overall, this thing is a great tool, designed for a very specific purpose.BinkyBarns

The lawn mower 4.0 touts ceramic skin safe blades that don’t cut or knick the skin. Completely false claim. Every single time I trim downstairs I get cut multiple times. The trimmer DOES NOT trim as close to the skin as they claim. A $20 Norelco trimmer actually trims closer to the skin. I can use the lawn mower & follow up with the Norelco & still trim shorter than the lawn mower by itself. Your trim area has to be silky smooth before u use this lawn mower or it will catch the skin every time without fail & cut you. Every time. Manscaped products are amazing for what they’re designed for. The lawn mower is a nice trimmer. It just doesn’t trim as close as they claim & it will cut your skin. Their claims on their website are just a sales pitch bullshit claim. They know it doesn’t trim to the skin. They know the damn thing will cut you. They know this & they care nothing about it. Just shut your mouth, spend $100 on the trimmer & you will believe what we tell you. I’d provide pics if they weren’t pics of downstairs. I have 3 cuts right now & still can’t get close to the skin. 5/5 Out of the shower Actually quite satisfying watching all the hairs fall off my legs. Quite flawless performance when it comes to out of the shower experience. This CUTS, mows down every single hair you can see. 1/5 In the shower The hair will stick to your body and that will make it harder to actually shave those hairs. Ended up nicking my armpit multiple times with this too. 3/5 For noise This is loud, like you can hear it from a room and maybe 2 rooms away. Everyone in the house will know you're shaving yourself. 4/5 Shaving length It's like 1mm of hair left on the legs so it's not perfect but it's still amazing for an electric shaver. Overall 3/5 I would use this more often but it's both noisy and hard to use in the shower. Other than those 2 gripes, it performs well everywhere else. I was shaving in the shower for 30 minutes and another 10 minutes out of the shower, it still has juice left to use. I recently got the Philips Norelco Bodygroom, a two in one trimmer and shaver. It must be said, up front, that this is a ***body*** hair trimmer and shaver… intended for your back, shoulders, chest, abs, underarm, arms, groin and legs. OOB, you get the two in one body hair trimmer/shaver, a cleaning brush, a proprietary charger, instructions, and a registration pamphlet. I am a hairy guy. Not quite sasquatch level, but not too far off, at least according to my wife. I have coarse hair also. It takes a pretty powerful shaver/trimmer to tame what I have going on. The short version is that the Philips Norelco Bodygroom has what it takes to get the job done, but please read on. You get a four-way contouring/pivoting shaver that first cuts your hair (with pre-cut blades on either side of the foil) and then foil shaves it down. I typically trim my chest, etc. with an adjustable trimmer head to a little over a 1/4 inch. But, for the purpose of this review, I charged the bodygroom (the green LED blinked while charging and turned solid green when done) and tried the foil shaver on the upper portion of my chest, to give the area shape. It did a great job. Close, smooth, exact… and no nicks. Note that you do not need to put a lot of pressure on the Bodygroom as you move it across your body. The way that the housing is ergonomically shaped (with a non-slip housing) is perfectly positioned to give you the right amount of pressure and surface drag. And, this was a dry shave. Yes, there was some irritation as a result of the dry shave, but that’s to be expected… and the irritation went away pretty quickly. For the remainder of my body hair, I used the adjustable trimmer head. The trimmer head offers 5 trim lengths, ranging from 1/8” (3mm) to 7/16” (11mm). It includes a guard that is easy to adjust with one finger, as well as self-sharpening blades. I had my wife take care of my back (my first time doing that, for which she was very happy). In the shower, shower off, I took care of my arm pits, chest, and other areas. There were instances where the hair “clogged” the trimmer guard, but I haven’t had a trimmer guard yet where that didn’t happen. Turn it over, shake it off, keep soldiering through. Easy enough. After cleaning up the shag carpet on the shower floor, so as not to block up my drain, I then showered and, with the water running (and given the Bodygroom is “showerproof”/water-resistant – but don’t submerge it (e.g., in a bathtub or sink), of course), took another go. At no point (dry or wet) was there an instance when there was a pinch or pull due to the trimmer blades. The self-sharpening trimmer blade was key here. My one gripe about the use of the Bodygroom was that there were instances where I could feel “drag” from the trimmer guard across more sensitive areas. It wasn’t unbearable. And, after a little I was able to learn how to maneuver to avoid the drag. But, this isn’t my first rodeo with body hair trimmers. Yet, this was the first guard with which I experienced the issue. After all was said and done, I dried the Bodygroomer, removed the trimmer guard, popped off the blade head, and cleaned the Bodygroom using the included brush. Super easy. According to the specs, the lithium ion battery in the Bodygroomer takes an hour to charge and offers 80 minutes of use. After a full charge, I used it for about 40 minutes total. It didn’t bog down once. I did recharge it before storing it and will likely charge it again before use, as I tend to go a little bit between “grooming” sessions. Other than keeping this thing clean, there’s no other maintenance. No oiling, no blade sharpening… nothing. Also, Philips Norelco offers a 5-year warranty. The manufacturer does make replacement shaving foil heads and shaving foil head cleaning spray, so just how long the foil head will last remains to be seen. A few minor bones to pick. You cannot use this device while you are charging it – but, given you’re likely to use it in the shower, with the shower running… not being able to charge it while using it is likely a good thing. In addition, I wish it came with a case that held the Bodygroom, the charger, and the brush. I’ll likely end up throwing it in an oversized zipper sandwich bag but a travel bag would’ve been a very solid addition. So, worth buying? Absolutely. For the reasons provided above, the Philips Norelco Bodygroom is a solid four star purchase and worth every penny. It’s ergonomic, easy to handle, provides two cutting surfaces (a foil shaver with pre-cutting blades and an easy to clean trimmer with self-sharpening blades and a 5-position adjustable guard), and thanks to those cutting surfaces gives you the versatility needed to shave your back, shoulders, chest, abs, underarm, arms, groin and legs. It holds a great charge and has enough power to make short work (see what I did there) of coarse body hair with zero problems. I wish it came with a travel bag, but c’est la vie. I am a 75 year old woman and I have trouble raising my arms to groom my hair between cuts. My hair is short and layer cut – almost as short as a man. This worked really well. I am a woman who had been going to a barber since 2019, as I wear my hair extremely short, funky, shaved. Unfortunately then there was the coronavirus, so I did not get my hair done for 15 months! I was drawn to this razor after shopping for quite a while. Good for both men and women. I like that it is light weight, the exterior material is soft and comfortable and will not slip from your hand. The balance of the unit is fanominal. The on/off button is a soft touch, the unit is quite and has a low frequency vibration. Over all I really like the unit. For younger people with taught skin it would be a 5 star product. But for those of us who are staring to age and have some sagging skin and use a blade cover, pulling to make skin taught, you tend to get harsh nicks, especially on the curves of your body. If Philips makes a unit that would address the problem I described I would Love to sample the unit. So for the overall performance of the Philips Model MG 5750 I feel obligated to score it a 4 of 5 Stars.Maple Doughnut

I chose this to replace a really old QG3364/42. I needed something with more power and could hold a decent charge. I chose the MG5750/90 because of price. With a coupon code, it was less than thirty-five dollars with free shipping. Right off the bat, I was impressed with the grippy handle. Not that my old trimmer was slippery, but this new trimmer gave me a little more confidence when holding it. It felt more solid and well built than I was used to. The motor is stronger than my old trimmer, as well as smoother, and because the mechanism doesn't rattle, just a bit quieter. This trimmer cuts my hair much easier even though it'll take some time getting used to the new guards as I haven't figured out how to get even cuts yet. When trimming at the corners of the mouth or other tough places, it can be hard to get even hair in tough spots. The only disappointing thing is there is no charge indicator light. I'd gotten used to having that featuring and didn't realize this trimmer didn't have it when I ordered it. It's not a deal breaker just something that could be on even the most basic trimmers. Other than missing a charge indicator, this is a good trimmer. It's not perfect, but I'd buy it again.bigbearsfan

This is really the best trimmer I've had. The main reason is that it doesn't cut nor hurt you while trimming. I trim my beard with it at 0.5mm, meaning without any guard. For my hair, I use 12mm and 16mm guards and the guards are solid, and cutting my hair works great without issues nor uneven cuts. It's compact and easy to hold, with rubber. It's very reliable and always works well. I bought the Philips series 7000 Hair Clipper because I wanted guards that reach higher than 16mm and the 7000 has a guard that goes to 28mm. I'm not referring to multigroom 7000 but the hair clipper series. So this 7000 still isn't as good as my multigroom 5000 as the blades are way too sharp and cut and hurt my neck so much while trimming without a guard, and I get uneven hair cuts as the guards are adjustable and not as solid. No issue with 5000 multigroom. Just wish it went to 25mm+. Okay, there's no light to let you know when to recharge or while recharging but the battery lasts so many hours. I once tried to drain it and 3 and a half hours later it was still running, and it wasn't fully charged. You just have to charge it for minimum an hour and you'll know it's fully charged. Easy, not complicated like some are making it to be. Fussy people. Plug it in, go about your day, come back and it's charged. Like every other device out there. The only thing is I wish it was waterproof just to be able to wash it all as it would be faster to clean. The head/blade is waterproof at least. The series 7000 is waterproof. But, this is the one I bought 3 and a half years ago or 4 and a half, I forget, and it still works great today, August 2022.Ramouz

While the trimmer works well, I've owned it less than a year and a comb broke as there made of light weight plastic. Their website does not show replacement combs for sale and no phone number is anywhere to contact them other than email. If they would just list these parts this review would not be negative. Honestly, I have been looking for a good trimmer for the “below the belt” region forever! I am glad to report, that this is it. This does exactly what it claims. It perfectly trims those hard to reach and sensitive areas. Really well thought-out design and blade strength. 10/10 would recommend for the boys.David

This is a decent groomer for men's body hair. I've been using an old Norelco groomer that has a narrow blade so was looking for an upgrade with a wider blade and would appreciate one that doesn't catch on skin. I've tested this on various regions, chest, pelvic area, and even my beard. The groomer cuts great but the blade can catch on loose skin… if you hold it flat to the skin, it works fine but just make sure to keep it flat to the skin on certain areas. I've managed to nick myself after getting too confident and am a little shy now so go slow. Working with the combs, trimming everything else, beard, chest, etc. worked great and came out great. It's easy to switch out the combs (four sizes included, 3,5,9,12mm), easy to clean, easy to charge (USB), and blades are easily replaceable. It holds a charge long enough that after a few runs and touch-ups over the last week, it's not needing a recharge. Box says 90 minutes for the battery so figuring only 10 min or so each use, I'll get a decent amount of use before needing charging. The width of the blade is just about perfect, larger than my old Norelco but not unwieldy. It's very easy to hold regardless of where or what direction your trimming. My only other negative is that I ordered onyx but received sage. The sage is a very nice camo sort of green which I'm fairly pleased with so not really disappointed. Overall, pretty good groomer for guys. Keeps everything neat and clean!Trooper

This is a review of the Meridian trimmer with "universal USB" charging. There are good and bad things about this trimmer. I don't dislike it. But I wouldn't recommend it, for reasons I'll explain. The trimmer itself is a nice width and has a fairly decent amount of weight to it. On the front are LED's to indicate charging level. The material covering the trimmer is just slightly soft and slip-proof, which I appreciate. The trimmer blades are like every other trimmer of this type I've ever used. There's nothing that special about them from what I can tell. The width is decent. Depending where it's used, the wide size has good and bad points. In the box you get a brush to clean the blades and parts, a very short charging cable and two combs that snap on the end of the trimmer. This is nowhere near enough variety in length. Using the trimmer with no comb, you get 3 lengths and that's it. The other gripe I have is that this is sold as a "universal USB" trimmer, which sounds fantastic for bringing it along on trips. But it uses a proprietary cable that is USB only on one end and is not universal. If you lose this special cable, you can no longer charge the trimmer. There's also no charger included. So you'll have to buy that separately, which is disappointing. There's no storage case either, although the box is a decent thickness and can be used for storage. For these reasons, I'd suggest going with a more mainline brand, like Remington, that usually comes with more lengths, attachments, an actual way to charge the trimmer, and sometimes a storage case.shawnph1970

GOOD THINGS; the trimmer is compact and quiet to use. There are 3-LED power/charge indicators so you tell if you sneak in one more cut before it dies. Recharging the trimmer is very quick, even from zero. The base cutter is rounded and safe around the “family jewels”. ISSUES: The “rounded” sections on the basic trimmer does not cut close to the skin, leaving a thick “5-O’clock” beard, maybe too much for someone that wants a clean or an un-fuzzy look or feel. The guards, clipped onto the trimmer, are too sharp/pointy, a yard rake design and around tender parts can be painful, unsafe and possibly dangerous to use??? With 2-sizes in each guard those sharp points are in both directions, going forward or backwards can hurt – just warning! The addition of a LED over the trimmer to illuminate the way through the “jungle” would be very helpful maybe improve safety as well, that handy addition would sure offset any minor reduced battery/trim time. The charger cord is too short (6-in), with USB/polarized trimmer connectors, is not easy or safe to add an extension (110V) cord – just 2X or longer would help very much. This company is not environmentally friendly as the timer was delivered in a box, inside a box with every item (brush, cord, 2-trimmer guards) inside individual plastic envelops, with additional cardboard and plastic inserts, just too much packaging/trash. Overall not a good deal or something to use until you find something better, close but no prize, sorry!JMC45

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. And it's the bee's knees! In the past I've used a shaver or beard trimmer to get rid of and manage unwanted body hair, but the Norelco Bodygroom 3500 is one unit that does a better job all by itself. First and foremost is that it doesn't cut me up like a razor or my beard trimmer does. The Norelco Bodygroom 3500 has rounded cutting trimmer tips so they do not stab you! I feel this is the main selling point of the Norelco Bodygroom 3500 and why it is superior to the alternatives. It cuts very well when dry (the cutting head is a combo trimmer and shaver), but when the hair is wet (it can be used in the shower) it takes a few passes to capture the hair. That's just the nature of water. It works best on hair under an inch long if you want to shave at skin level. To cut hair down to size but not shave off completely use the included trimmer guards that snap on. The Norelco Bodygroom 3500 is lightweight, comfortable to hold and not too noisy. To shave hard to reach areas it comes with a folding detachable extended handle. Click the Bodygroom in and now shaving your back is possible. Some control and shaving efficiency suffers while using the extended handle but without it some people might not be able to reach all areas. Also, the end of the extended handle does not have any rubber grip on it and becomes 'slippery when wet'. So, I put a few strips of skateboard grip tape on it which was helpful. One thing I didn't like was the charge only lasted an hour. There's a low battery light indicator but it was still hard to gauge when the charge would run out. It charges quickly (30 min for half charge) but when I'm rushing in the morning it still is not fast enough. I wish it had a screen showing battery charge percentage or how many minutes are left. What I ended up doing was to basically charge it after each time I used it. It does not work while plugged in (it only charges) to prevent you from using it in the shower while it is plugged in. This is a good safely feature, but being the battery is not user replaceable, when the battery dies (as all do) you'll need to buy a new unit. The rubber membrane over the on/off button feels a bit thin and I can see it tearing after heavy usage. It'll still work but it won't be water resistant anymore. The Norelco Bodygroom 3500 is great for daily or weekly use on all (even private) areas of the body. I did not experience any skin irritation and it is an easy to use. Of course, don't use it on a sunburned area of the body, guess how I figured that one out… I use it almost every day for quick touch ups which barely take any time. I'm never going back to my prehistoric ways again!SmoothSkin

So much better than the 3000 in every way. The quick charge fully charges it in an hour, and provides an hour of continuous use. It cutie the hair great! Even when I let the hair grow long, it easily cuts through the hair, leaving my skin smooth. Also, it’s great to shave “down there” as it doesn’t scratch or damage the skin. That being said, being freshly clean will improve results, as will keeping up with `maintenance`. I tried the attachments/guards, it came with 3 at different sizes. Perhaps they would work better on course/stiff (and clean) hair, or maybe shorter hair as I quickly found them difficult to use on areas of my body that had long soft, oily, fluffy hair. So for the effectiveness of the supplied guards, results may vary depending on… you. Without the guard this tool is awesome. It cuts hair like a hot knife through butter and with no nicks, no bruising, no gashes/etc. On a few areas I would typically slow down to make sure I don`t amputate anything, but this machine`s built-in safety guard holds no bounds… similar to using an electric razor just mow everything away, not quite haphazard, or WOT, but pretty close. This alone helped shave (lol pun) about 5 mins off this part of my routine, easily. Plus no burn, and no bleeding & worrying about crazy infections in crazy places; this alone makes the item worth it for me. The added bonus of the extension/attachment makes the hard to reach areas easier with less pre-stretching involved. Basically I can now reach that one area on my back without any warm-up exercises. Clicks in and out of the attachment easily. A little bulky, but seems sturdy enough that it would last several accidental falls in the bathroom from my clumsy hands. Cleaning is a breeze. The whole unit is waterproof and the head is easily dissembled for ease of access. It may be helpful if you have small fingers though since the guard/foil is dainty and may be kind of small for big hands/fingers to remove, maintain and clean. Overall I do believe this item will be the perfect replacement for my normal clippers, as well as a perfect replacement for my cheapo pen style personal trimmer. The really killer feature of this beard trimmer (which doesn't seem to be advertised well imo) is that it it doesn't miss a bunch of hairs like most trimmers do. The adjustable "built-in metal comb" guides the hairs directly into the blades, since it's the same piece of metal that the blades cut against. This is very different from a trimmer with a plastic comb/spacer, which will sort of lift the hairs but then drop them before they reach the blades, allowing them to curl away and avoid being cut. With this trimmer, you no longer need to do several passes to ensure you haven't missed any hairs. I've included a picture with the comb/spacer fully extended so you can see what I mean. Note: it might not be quite as effective if you use the plastic spacer (for lengths greater than 5mm), although I expect it would still work quite a bit better than other trimmers.Iann

Norelco does a great job with shavers and their clipper attachments are a great little added bonus, but I wouldn't cut my hair with them for obvious reasons. That's where the series 9000 comes in. At first glance, it looks and feels premium in both the real stainless steel body and the compact yet weighted feel in the hand. It's very portable and comes with it's own carry case. I really like the large height adjustment wheel and steel blade guard that give a sense of precision while it actually follows through with that precision from 0.4mm up to 10mm with the only included guard attachment. My old hair trimmer came with a bulky case and 9 attachments, the smallest of which was 3mm, so it's refreshing to be able to vary the cut of my beard and sideburns. As a hair trimmer, it's kind of slow, mainly because the blade is small and the guard teeth are so close together. Though it does the job, I've decided to only use it for finishing touches for which I feel it works best. I've even used it to clean up those hard to reach spots the shaver can't get to like just below the jaw line or trimming the moustache just below the nose. I've used it for about a week and can report the battery has just recently went to 2 bars out of 3 which is pretty impressive. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the elevated noise compared to my corded clippers. Though I would assume it's to be expected from a cordless unit. Quite miniscule in comparison to it's indispensability. I would recommend this for people that don't use razors, but want a well groomed beard and overall appearance.joecaffe

I was looking to upgrade / replace my older 7400 Multigroom that I've had since 2016. It still worked great, but the battery hasn't been holding a charge as long as it used to. I figured I'd upgrade to the 9000 series. First thing is – this is not a replacement for a Multigroom, but it's still world's away a better beard shaver compared to the 7400. That said, there are some pro's, con's and trade-offs that have me still keeping my 7400 in the bathroom along side the 9000. First, the pro's of the 9000. This thing is a solid shaver, it doesn't feel cheap. It's made of metal and plastic which give it a good heft. The design of the 9000 is such that it can be left standing on the vanity by the sink, waiting for me to come up and shave. Taking up a smaller footprint is nice. Next, the 9000 can be used in the shower. My beard isn't long enough to warrant shower shaving, but it's nice to know that if it gets splashed or wet on the vanity that it won't fry the razor. The coolest feature of the 9000 is the guide. It's built into the razor itself and you can use the dial to go from 0.4 to 5" in length without using the included guard. You'll see in my pics there's a white number and a blue number on the dial. The White number is the length of the razor without the included guard attached. The Blue number is the length when you have the included guard snapped on. The guard adds an additional 5" in length, so the length goes from 5 to 10" in length with the guard attached. I leave mine set at 8" with the guard attached for an even shave. Battery life so far has been great, I've only left it to charge once or twice over night – but have been using it for several weeks now. Something Philips has FINALLY allowed is the ability to use the razor while it's plugged in – meaning if the battery goes kaput, I can always use it as a wired razor. But like all good things, where there are pro's there are also con's. Because the power port is on the bottom, there's no way to stand the razor up when it's charging, meaning you'll have to lie it down. Not horrible by any stretch of the imagination, but something to be aware of. I mentioned I'm still keeping my Multigroom 7400 in rotation and it comes down to the size of the detail head trimmer. The 9000 razor head is about an inch across, so if you want to get in tight around a soul patch, under your nose, or wherever – you might have a challenge because the 9000's head is bigger. The 7400's detail head was about 0.5" across allowing for a much tighter detail cut. Finally, because the razor allows for a 0.4 amount of hair, there's no way to get a totally clean shave with this. You'll always have some stubble left. If that's your jam, this isn't a negative – but if you're like me and you want some parts around the neck to be clean shaven, you'll need to use another razor, like a 3500 or something that's meant for clean shaves. I’ve been using the body groomer for years. Works great on my back or hard to reach places. Only reason I’m not giving this a 5 star is that the back attachment breaks. I find myself buying a new body groomer once a year because of this. Philips won’t cover the back extension under their warranty. This is a great groomer but the wear and tear on that back attachment really does take a toll at about the one year mark for me. As I write this I’m ordering a new one. Last one I purchased was a little over a year ago. This time though, I’m buying the 2yr extended warranty that Target offers. This trimmer lives up to all the hype. Im not a barber but I cut my own hair. Once that I zero gapped the blade, it was on. I edged my hair line and my beard with ease. The lines were so crisp around my beard they lasted much longer than they have with my other trimmers. Be very careful if you zero gap the blade. They cut very sharp. My wife does not normally use trimmers. I let her edge the back of my neck and she cut me. I think the trimmer is over priced but it is by far the best cutting trimmer I have ever used.shawndowtin

I have used non electric back shavers before and they were worthless. After reviewing this Mangroomer pro cordless on many forums I purchased this at a great Walmart low price. It's well designed, good grip with rubberized handle. It's rechargeable cordless design is great and it works great. With the multiple angles of the extension handle I was easily able to get every nook and cranny of my back hair, shoulders, with ease. I am not new to using a small clipper. I so I think I know what I am talking about. I was shocked how cheep it felt in my hand. Seems like it has no real strength to it. I truly wonder how long it will last. Be sure to never drop it, or it will be gone. It did trim the hair off my back, but then my back hair is very fine. And I did manage to scrap myself up a bit too. Another thing I was shocked about, when it's is on charge, it wont run. So when the batteries die you cant just plug it in and keep using it. And you cant take it apart to put in new ones. But that do tell you how to take out the circuit board with the batteries on it to toss it out. For what I paid for it I thought it would be much better. So I will use it till it goes and then get the cheaper one. All it really is, is the edge trimmer on an electric shaver on a stick. If you have one, you know how they last. Be sure to keep it oiled and clean it every time you use it…. One last thing, it does work me, but I just wonder for how long…..2011jakecarl

I bought one of these a while ago and it was excellent. Rechargeable and solidly built. And it made short work of my hairy back making me no longer looking like I had escaped from the zoo. Alas it got blunt over the years and on seeing the price of the replacement blades it made good sense to order a brand new replacement. I thought I was buying the same again but this new Mangroomer is a pale imitation. Made by the same company and costing the same it's a far inferior product. It's much lighter and has no real weight to it making it harder to use. The weaker joints mean that it won't stay in position plus it is now battery operated not rechargeable. Luckily I used the cutting blade of the new one to revamp my old one so I'm still not being hassled by zoo keepers.afrocub

I have had very short hair for probably 20 years now. There's only so many options you have when your hair decides it doesn't want to grow anymore. As far as I'm concerned, I had two options. I could let it bother me and spend all kinds of money and effort trying to get my hair back in one way or another OR I could go for the military buzz and keep it short. I chose the latter and it's worked out well for me. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, I would have my head buzzed every 10 – 14 days because I like to keep it as short as possible. Even when my hair is long (14 – 28 days without being buzzed), it's not very long at all. It's manageable and able to be easily buzzed. I have a friend who works for SportClips and before the world shut down, I would give her my business every two weeks. She would keep my head buzzed and I would contribute to her career but since that option is currently unavailable, I decided ManGroomer might be a great alternative for me. I thought of ManGroomer because I purchased "THE BACKGROOMER™" awhile back and it works just fine. Unlike the Backgroomer, my experience with the ULTIMATE PRO Self-Haircut Kit was not a good one. The clipper did not cut properly. I used several of the guards, I tried cutting without a guard and I even tried plugging in as opposed to cutting on the battery power thinking I would get more power, but the results were the same in each attempt – painful and ineffective. The clippers pulled my hair as opposed to cutting in all of my attempts. Thankfully, I have a proper set of Wahl brand hair clippers in my closet that I was able to use to shave my head without any issues after the ManGroomer Self-Cutting Kit failed me. The packaging was fantastic. The timeliness of delivery was optimal. When I emailed the company for a return and refund request, they literally returned my email and gave me a refund within minutes. It couldn't have been longer than 10 minutes. I was incredibly impressed by the response. Not only did they issue me a refund but the team encouraged me to try a couple of more times with their product. All aspects other than the actual product itself were flawless on ManGroomer's part. For this reason, I will continue to buy products from ManGroomer because customer service goes a long way with me along with the fact that I bought another one of their products that I've had zero issues with. I'm chalking this up as simply something that didn't work for me. It may work for someone else and despite my negative experience with this particular line of ManGroomer's product, I am not discouraged by the brand and I look forward to using more of their products in the future.J.r. Yes, it works and is a better solution for my back hair than anything else I ever tried (other than having someone else shave my back for me). However, even with the mangroomer, shaving your back is still not the easier thing in the world. I recommend this model over the slightly less expensive one because without the extra foil head I would not have been able to get a close enough shave. Despite being the best product on the market, I'm only giving 4 stars because it appeared to be cheaply made. Used it for the first time today and one of the red lock buttons fell off which wasn't a big deal since I was able to pop it back on, but still shouldn't have happened. Its made in CHINA, so this is expected. If Wahl came out with a similar product made in the America, I would gladly buy it instead even if it was more money.Kevin

I have purchased 2 Mangroomers and after the first I was convinced I was a lifetime customer until this last purchase. The blades no longer cut through my back hair and seem to not be made as quality as they used to be. My first model didn't have a problem going through my forest of hair but now even with the power boost all it does is tug and rip hair out. The overall quality just seems to be downgraded after making such a quality product and gaining good reviews and supporters. I'm highly disappointed that such a good product can't even do the one thing it claims to do, man groom. I will no longer be using this companies products based on the change in blade quality and the inability to cut my back hair.Jefferson H.

This trimmer/razor is excellent. It works as advertised. It is the 3rd trimer that I have purchased. About 15 years ago I had a Norelco that worked great without attachments, so after the trimer broke, due to me dropping it, I purchased another brand and it never worked correctly. It had lots of attachments that had to be changed just to trim my beard. I kept it for a few months and replaced it with a Norelco and it was a poor as the one it was replacing. This is the first that I have found that works as well as the original trimer I had without all the silly attachments.TGSC

I bought this trimmer to replace a different brand one from Best Buy that was starting to have problems after 5 years of use. My biggest problem with this trimmer is that it has no power cord going to the the charging base and instead you plug the charger directly into the outlet then plug the trimmer on top of that. This is too much weight for the electrical outlet. Another issue is the box didn't say what the range of cutting lengths this trimmer allows. The previous trimmer cut hair from 1mm to 23mm but this only cuts from 1mm to 1cm which isn't long enough.Michael

Unit does a fine job of trimming the beard, moustache and sideburns! I remove the gauge and shave with it as well. It's not going to replace cream and a razor, but for my needs it gives me as close a shave as I need. I actually really like the non-corded charger, contrary to some reviews I read. I have charged it once since my purchase and gotten a half dozen shaves and trims in without recharging or loss of efficiency. Very pleased with my purchase.Lucky

I ordered beard trimmer after reviewing the website and reading how they take a returned item, have their "technicians" inspect and test all items to ensure the highest quality. I received the trimmer and I opened the package and upon examining the trimmer I found trimmed whiskers in the top portion of the trimmer as we'll as finding the blade filled with trimmed whiskers. I was extremely grossed out by that sight. I then realized that the tube of oil they had provided had leaked during shipment and all over. I then plugged the charger into the wall and it never light up the way it was described in the user manual. I contacted the company to exchange for a trimmer that was in the condition that they advertised and was told they are not set up to do exchanges but I could keep the dirty and nonfunctioning chgarger at a discount. I thought all trimmers/shavers were the same but this one is a cut above the others. I’m using this as my daily razor and to trim my own hair. I also use it to keep body hair under control in all the right places. Honestly, it is just a solid feeling product. It has real weight and feels comfortable in either hand. The blades cut unbelievably well and evenly and it’s the closest shave I’ve found next to a razor. It has a built in wrapped around guard with 20 sizes so you don’t need fiddle trying to find the right guard to use. One thumb click away from adjusting to the one you want. There’s basically an option for any way to want to cut the hair on your head, face or body. Waterproof as well so you can use in the shower and under the faucet for cleaning purposes. I love this Manscaper Body Groomer. I got it delivered in 1 day. I opened the box and I was impressed by the illustrated packaging displaying it's key features. I did a quit read through of the instructions and set it up to charge. It said for a full charge to charge it for 1 hour but It charged much faster, and has a power meter showing charging status. The unit has a wonderful grip so you have complete control of your trimming session. The blades are super sharp and precise, to you can really get right to the skin if you want to, the blades are also self sharpening to keep them good as new and prevent irritation form dull blades. It also gives a tight trim, making a nice line on you sideburns or hairline, by your neck. It comes with a guard that has an E-Z Cutting Length Dial so you don't have to carry a bunch of different guards when you travel. It is fully waterproof so it's easy to rinse the hair of the blades when done, or use it in the shower. It is built strong and solid, not like some of those other wireless trimmers.
