Nothing worse than a company praying you don’t read the smaller text. I was unfortunate enough to buy in store to find out that the 100% waterproof is only for cleaning. Very annoying- but maybe passable if its use was good? Absolutely not. Took forever to get anything off my face which a normal razor could have done 3 times over in the time I tried to use this- and my face still isn’t properly shaven. I’d get a refund but I didn’t realize how truly bad this product would be Stick to shaving normally if possible or buy a better razor thats TRULY WATERPROOF if thats what you’re looking forCyrus

This is my first experience with a Braun razor. I wear a beard, but still need to keep my neck & cheeks nice and neat. I shaved with a hand razor for years, it was fine. I was interested in a foil razor, but wasn't sure if I'd be able to keep my definition lines on my face without destroying them. However, a friend of mine who also sports a beard has used a Braun for years, no issues. For the price I paid for this razor, I thought I'd try. Not sure why this little razor isn't getting more love, maybe people just don't know how to shave. It works darn good. I can shave closer & faster than I can with a blade, no irritation, and it does not destroy my beard lines. I can't imagine how good your expensive models shave, this little guy works well. Only wish I could use with a cord, but that's not a deal breaker. Don't ignore this razor!mike6000

There was nothing at all to dislike about this product. I found it to be an amazing piece of machinery. You see I have Parkinson's disease. It eventually became impossible for me to use standard blade razor because I could not twist my wrist to the angles needed to save the contours of my face at the jawline on the sides of my face. This razor is lightweight definitely waterproof and easily glides over all the contours of my face with its pivoting blades. Or I also like to point out that it was easy for me to hold because of the texture of the outside casing of the razor itself you see I have no strength in my hands either. I promise that this razor gives just as close a shave as a standard triple Blade razor.Philip

I bought this model online during the Black Friday sales in November 2021. It was to replace my older model Series 7 which has been a fantastic shaver. Please be aware that the newer generation Series 7 like this one uses a separate precision trimmer head that is not built into the shaver. The precision trimmer is not included in this particular retail kit. And you cannot buy it separately in Australia unless you opt to purchase an entire beard trimming and manscaping kit. I don't have a beard. And I'm not into manscaping. So this shaver is incredibly useless in its current state. Normally I would not have made this error of judgement because I would have purchased in-store after inspecting it. But in-store purchase wasn't possible during COVID-19 lockdown. Shaver Shop referred me to Braun, who referred me to their spare parts distributor who was actually very helpful, but it seems I've bought a dud. I'll start by saying a lot of the reviews I've seen here have been discussing the fact that instructions aren't included and comments about the fact there is no heater/dryer in the base. First off there is literally only 1 button on the shaver and 1 button on the base (outside of the base ejection button for swapping the cleaning juice). If you struggle with this shaver then there are likely bigger problems in your life. This is very simple shaver that seriously needs no instructions. As for the base always launching the cleaning cycle when you only want to charge the shaver… the shaver battery lasts over an hour. My shaves take approximately 5 minutes. That means I could shave, without the need for charging, or cleaning the shaver 12 times. If after 12 shaves you still don't want to clean the shaver then I don't know what to tell you other than you might want to consider evaluating your hygiene habits. Also, the cleaning solution/juice if not used will evaporate, so you might as well use it. I run the cycle after about 3-4 shaves and the next day it's dry and ready to go. Now for the real review… I previously owned a 5 series Braun many years back and more recently owned a 9 series Braun about 3 years ago. I no longer had the receipt so I couldn't prove I mailed it. $300 down the drain. So, for the next few years I avoided Braun products. I tried many others and finally gave up and settled with disposable shavers. I seen this sale after all this time and decided to try this shaver/Braun again. The motor on this shaver is louder and more powerful than the 9 series I remember. The attachments are easy to swap and use. I found the lack of an in-built trimmer a little frustrating as it takes a bit of time to swap heads. A small sacrifice as the trimmer itself is leaps and bounds stronger than the 9 series in-built shaver and far easier and more precise to use. Now onto a more sensitive topic, trimming of more delicate parts of the body. My god, this shaver has blown me away and establishes its true value here. The included beard/stubble trimmer attachment, normally meant for beards, has been a godsend for that area and blows Manscape products out the water. Honestly Manscape products are far overrated, and I found before this shaver, a Wahl cordless shaver with the correct guide to be much better. The Stubble and Beard trimmer was better than every product I've ever tried, and I can easily say with confidence that there is absolutely nothing better. This was the first shave I ever had that didn't tear me to shreds and cause excessive bleeding there. The shave is also faster as the newfound confidence allows me to shave without worry of nicks. While I will say it did nick once, the nick was barely noticeable or felt and didn't bleed. A serious gamechanger. The included guides that were notches of 1, 2, or 3 were additions nice but a close trim is possible without worry with guide 1. Seriously, this attachment should be marketed completely differently as it's outstanding. I'm speaking again of the Beard and Stubble Trimmer with 2 notch 1 guides, not the Precision Trimmer attachment as I would be far too scared to use that attachment down there. Also, while the Beard and Stubble trimmer is attached you can still run the cleaning cycle when the shaver is inserted into the base! Honestly that was an amazing discovery as the ability of having that attachment cleaned by the base, especially after shaving in that area, was a huge win for hygiene. On to the real purpose of this shaver, your face… It does a great and thorough job but requires many passes. This shaver shines in giving this quality shave without pulling or nicks. It rivals disposable shaver shaves without the irritation. The requirement of some extra passes is worth it. The 9 series did provide a faster shave as it required fewer passes of the same area, but it did not provide a better shave. The difference being the 9 series is almost 2 – 2.5x as expensive and has a far worse trimmer, no beard and stubble trimmer which again shines where you would least expect it to and had suspect reliability. I recently bought this machine and this is the first machine I've had with an associated charging/cleaning station. I have previously used Braun shavers for years, but these were not cleaned in this way. Then I wonder about this: The machine was delivered with 1 pc. Braun Clean & Renew, and according to the manual, the machine must be cleaned after each use. Then the contents of the cleaning station will last for approx. 30 days. If I don't clean every day the contents will evaporate within 8 weeks. This kind of fabric is very expensive to buy new, and I wonder if this type of cleaning is necessary. Online, it is also possible to buy a type of powder which, however, must be mixed with some type of ethanol. Then the price will be a fraction of the price for new containers. However, I have managed without such cleaning since I started with Braun shavers 50 years ago. However, according to the manual, I do not need to clean the machine in this way, but only rinse it clean under running water. What do I risk by maintaining the machine without using the cleaning station. Will it then have a limited lifespan? Will the machine have a longer life if I use a cleaning spray and shower my head after each cleaning under water?Ivar

I have always been leary of buying an electric razor. However, over the past few years the cost of razor blades has skyrocketed and the quality of shave has deteriorated just as fast. I was tired of paying for razors that gave you a lousy shave. I was in the military and I know what a close shave is supposed to feel like. I took the plunge and purchased this razor. This razor has worked really well. The quality and closeness of shave is equal to anything I could get from a disposable razor. It takes a couple of weeks for your face to get used to shaving with an electric razor. It has been almost a month since I purchased the razor and I no longer feel any irritation at all. It is very easy to clean and the charge lasts for weeks. I will not back to using high priced low quality razors. I have long used cartridge razors, but no more. I’ll preface this with I have sensitive skin and prone to ingrown hairs & razor bumps. I used this in both my face and legs, and it’s the smoothest, least irritated my skin has ever been. There are even some contours I could get smooth with a good cartridge razor that I was able to get with this. I used it ‘wet’ with a foaming shaving cream. I also exfoliated first. I have never been as disappointed with a product as I was with this one. After all the glowing reviews and even some ratings calling it the best electric shaver ever made I took the plunge and switched from my Norelco. I have used for two weeks and the shaves are abysmal. Even after going over the same area 3-4 times there is still stubble left. Shaving the neck is even worse. Going over every area of my neck from every conceivable angle and there is still substantial stubble left. The only good comment I can make is that it feels good in the hand. ReDisappointment

I really love this shaver. After watching many positive review videos and my old shaver died, I bought this and am really impressed. You can shave with or without shaving gel/cream. The shaver gets close but not as close as other shavers, however it is more than close enough for a professional work environment. The biggest plus is that it is extremely safe, and I have been using for over a month and not one skin irritation or nick. Works great on scalp for shaving head also. Is a little slower than shaving with a regular multiblade razor and not as close, but much safer and no shaving cream needed.MojoBBQ

This is the second OneBlade I have owned. As a stand alone, this is a good trimmer, especially for shorter length trimming. I like most of the new design, especially that the handle is slimmer with a better grip. However when compared to the last model, it falls short in allowable max trimming length and ease of adjustment. The reason is due to the rotating blade head. This new feature is not bad to have, though with the narrow blade, I've never felt the need for it. The rotation doesnt allow for a cap like the previous model, which had a simple dial to adjust length, all the way up to 9. This blade has an attachment which you need to rotate with your thumb. It's not the smoothest or easiest operation. It goes up to 5mm, which isn't bad for a face trimmer, but less than the previous. Overall, this is a solid trimmer which will get the job done well. I dont feel the blade rotation is better than an easier and longer guard adjustment.Jeremy O

This shaver is very impressive. I charged it for a couple hours and decided to give it a go on my 4 day stubble. It's worked like a dream, gives a very close shave almost as close at a razor, I was so impressed. I judge my razors based on how well i can get nice clean lines on my goatee and sideburns and this passed both tests! My goatee looks great and my sideburn lines are crisp and clean. Everything you need to keep your self groomed is included in this great little package. It's nice and compact and would be perfect to travel with. It's also rechargeable! This is a great, Great Razor!!! It must be charged for the night or a few hours when you first get it though. You don't need to leave it plugged in though. Once it has been charged fully, you will have several days worth of power. It is very quiet, it gives a really close shave and it is really smooth on the face. In addition, it is very simple to clean. You can removed the guard and it reveals the blades of the razor. You just run some water over the blades and it removes the hair clippings.bj987keller

The Good: Great feel, grip, shave, ease of cleaning, quick charge time, trimmer is handy for sideburns to shape them up between haircuts. The Bad: I have now gone through two of these in about 2 years….the first lasted about 18 mos, the second, about 5. Problem? For whatever reason, after awhile, it will not charge. I also use shaving cream when I get out of the shower and use the razor, rinse it before, during and after use….and always and I mean always, after the period of time, you get up, plug it in, go in the shower, come out, dead. It won't charge. My guess? The Lithium Ion Batts. While ALL batteries have a lifespan, they should be much longer thant this. I rinse the head during shaving (shaving cream buildup and hair) 2-3 times while shaving paying attention to let the water drain down 90-95%….I don't think it's water intrusion….as deep as this thing goes is running it under the faucet head down? I used both the old and new charger….the new one shows all power lights on for about 2-3 seconds, goes dim, dead……there is something about these batteries that are not right….I am off to Walmart this mornign to get a 3rd in less than 3 years THIS time WITH the cheap warranty…..I have used Brauns for over 30 years and the batteries always seem to be the issue…do NOT pack them in luggage that will go in the cargo hold or you will find them dead, not chargeable when you get to your destination…this one is ONLY used at home. I take a cheap corded Braun on the road and it's about 20 years old now, still works but it's a dry shave…irritating…….I like the ability to use shaving cream for a much more comfortable shave but, this battery thing is aggravating…..over the 30 years I have gone through multiple 3, 5, 7 and 9 series razors…they ALL have battery failures eventually…so you end up buying a new one…..why? Because the other brands suck MORE. I have had Remington, Norelco (couldn't shave close with a gun to it's head), Chinese knockoffs even a small cordless from Harbor Freight that despite is size and slow speed delivered a great shave until it quit working…..it seems that if a rechargeable battery is run for 20 mins a day max, 6-7 days a week, it SHOULD last more than 6 months….never dropped, never abused, always left open on the counter after rinsing to let the head and razor dry after separated….still died….ridiculous…..I only hope the warranty is worth something when the next one croaks….no warning either….just dies…..still the best brand overall….Terry

I've never really liked wet dry shavers but this one changed my mind. it shaves flawless and leaves you face as smooth as using a traditional razor. i love that it's wireless and it charges very quickly and stays charged for a great amount of time. and cleaning is a breeze with the included brush and removable heads. you can also remove the head and run it under water for a deep clean. all around this is and excellent shaver.James

I bought this shaver about a month ago after my Braun shaver quit on me after two years. I've had Norelco's in the past as did my dad. There was a comment made by one person that he didn't like this shaver because he felt the motor wasn't fast enough. I found this to be true however the motor is quiet and there are three cutting head with a lot of blades. Thinking logically, if the motor was any faster, there's a good chance that the blades would miss some hairs. Of all the Norelco's I've had in the past, this one is the best. The main shaver head along with the 3 cutting heads give a very close shave and conforms to your face, jawline and Adam's apple where my old Braun didn't. I use Williams Electric Shave for lubrication and have yet to have any razor burn. For cleaning, pop open the shaver head and rinse with warm water. There are three indicator lights which tell you when the shaver is fully charged and when it'll need to be charged up again. For $60.00, this shaver at least for me is worth every penny.Dakasis

The shaver does a good job, I have had bad experiences with electric shavers in the past where the blades have pulled on my facial hair and it hurts that even before I would shave I would use the back razer to shorten my facial hair so I could shave my face or I would just use the back razer to shave completely. with this electric shaver, I can get a good shave without the blades pulling on my facial hair. there is a lot of confusion on what I can use with the shaver, like Lectric Shave or can I use shaving cream, the user manual doesn't give enough instructions. it's great that it comes with a case for the shaver and the charger, but the shaver is difficult to fully clean out like dumping out all the hairs that the shaver collects, also you are only recommended one accessory, and that accessory is no longer available and it's an important product because it's used to clean the head of the shaver.Hunter11

I found that my new shaver does a credible job. I enjoy the fact that it's waterproof and can be washed after use. However, it was supposed to show a warning light when the battery became low, and it didn't do that, and I was caught one morning not being able to shave because the battery needed recharging. I've been using a Norelco shaver for more than 20 years (Model #6843XL) even after the battery could no longer be charged by plugging it in until even plugging it in would no longer work. So being 94 years old, I assume that this will be my last shaver I'll have to buy if this one is as good as my last one.Maftir

Cost was just great on this purchase and the reason for purchasing two, one for myself and one for my son! I have experienced the single head of the Bliss for a while and when I saw the cost of the double head, thought I couldn't miss, plus I needed a birthday gift for him! The double head is much better and the recharging capability is absolutely fabulous! Saves switching batteries like I have had to do often on the single head. I purchased this shaver 07/09/2022. i took it home and started charging it, I couldn't wait to try it out so I used it in cord mode. I have tried the Mach 5 and a Braun version. While the Mach 5 produces a good close shave, it takes me 20 to 30 minutes of shaving to achieve that. Plus I have to use a lubricant while shaving to achieve the best shave. I used this new Babyliss shaver with no lubricant on my head and it literally took less than 3 minutes and it's the best shave I've had. it's nice and rugged metal, all others I have used have been plastic. It has definitely been the cheapest shaver I have tried. I was skeptical from reading some of the reviews, I do have more of a coarse hair which one of the reviews mentions getting results from. If you have coarse hair and want a great shave, I totally recommend this shaver! I'm not saying it won't do fine hair, I am just not a good test for that.Chris M.

This is my first time I try an electronic shaver my self. First off love the gold color on it mm it was pretty smooth easy to use honestly. Featured here is the Panasonic ES3831, a cousin of the ES3834 which I had and which it duplicates in every way except for the trimmer which the ES3834 had but which this ES3831 doesn't, but if you have no mustache to trim like I do, this ES3831 will be a must have for you. It follows a line of very reliable high quality Japanese precision Panasonic ES travel shavers. I could not believe at how great a shave it gave! And it runs for a long time on easy to find AA batteries. No fumbling around with a charger. Very handy when you're traveling international because different countries have different outlet configurations. With this handy precision quality shaver, you won't have to worry about that. Don't worry about getting it wet. It's water resistant and can be used for a wet shave. I gave mine to my wife, and after flirting with another brand that just didn't work despite its name and higher price, I'm going back to the exact same Panasonic model now to get back into the game.PapaBap

I wish in the "Tell us more" section, it had an option under "Do you recommend it?" to be "Maybe"; Ditto for is it a good value. It is well known that electric foil and "pad" shavers work well but maybe not as well as blade. Remember that old adage by some shaver manufacturers that their shavers "shave as close as a blade or your money back."? That tells you that blades shave closest. In the case of this Panasonic shaver, that is still true. The foil on this shaver gets dull rather quickly after using it for a few weeks, so I now have to follow it up with a going over with a razor. The reason that I use this shaver is that I keep cutting myself with the razor if I use the razor first; even with shaving cream. I wish there was a way to closely shave but not cut myself. On the good side, this shaver is waterproof and the batteries last a long time, weeks, before replacing.bricolaje

Another great rotary in Philips' lineup. This series does solve the issue of many complaints regarding the detachable trimmer and heads of other Philips shavers – it has the traditional flip-top head and pop-up trimmer. This adds to the bulk of the shaver, body and head, but precludes having to keep track of a separate trimmer and remove the head for cleaning, and it works reasonably well, although for me the trimmer isn't quite as effective as the SmartClick attachments for the Series 9000 shavers. The ComfortGlide Rings really are effective, and provide a frictionless shave, although in this model they are slightly larger than the Anti-Friction rings of the S7940 for example, and require some maneuvering to get around tight areas. The Quick Clean pods use the same cleaning solution as the SmartClean cartridges for the SmartClean stations, which is excellent for cleaning and lubricating the shaver. The Quick Clean Pod is unpowered however, and uses the shaver's power, reducing it by about 1 percent per cleaning, although on a positive note doesn't require cords or cables and is more compact – actually usable for travel. The GroomTribe app is the Achilles Heel of all these Bluetooth shavers, and in particular this model (S7782), because there's no information regarding this particular shaver – the app seems exclusively to recognize only the S7940 shaver. On the plus side, the S7782 will connect, and it does record the shaving time and the percentage of rotation (which improves shaving efficiency), although the motion sensor algorithm in the shaver appears not to recognize the correct rotational movement about half the time. The good news is you don't actually need the app, and this shaver has an LED screen that provides all the essential information about the shaver, including battery life, cleaning information and the previously mentioned inaccurate rotation statistics. The shaving heads (SH71/52) only have a single cutting ring, but actually are comfortable and provide a very close shave. I grew up with and have used Norelco rotary shavers and body groom tools all my adult life. My old one, probably close to 20 years now, still works but there is no availability of replacement heads anymore and some wear finally. This is an excellent shaver and I am very happy I got it. I considered the 3000 and 5000 series, but 3000 seems to use lower end heads, and while the 5000 uses the same as this, the hard travel case is essential to me and purchased as a separate accessory brings the cost close enough that it was worth it to just get the higher end kit. The shave is great; I haven't yet tried out the cleaning pod. The shaver cleans very well under running water following the instructions. I also have some extras from my previous Philips/Norelco products that I use with this, such as combs, cleaning brushes and a spare charger.Chris_P

I switched back to Norelco after a 3-year switch to Braun. Glad I returned to Norelco, unquestionably the shave was the closest I have ever had with an electric shaver. Also, I like that it is quiet and easy to clean manually if I don't use the cleaning pod. However, the new head design is a step backward in my opinion. Its large gaps and dead space between the edge of the head and the blades make for difficulty in smoothly sliding the shaver over my face and repeated pinching when shaving above my lip. I would gladly pay the same price for a 7000 with the old head design coupled with the new minimalist stand and self-powered cleaning pod, that would be a 5-star shaver! But Norelco is not offering that option. I use the Bluetooth feature but will discontinue eventually as after a certain period of time it becomes superfluous.Tomthewise

I've been shaving with Philips Norelco shavers for many decades and have had all the flagship shavers including the James Bond and the Smart Touch XL and currently own the AT830, 8900 series and the 9721 shaver with cleaning station. I tell you this so that you are aware that I know a thing or two about Philips shavers. I'll concentrate solely on the shaver itself since my previous review was declined. The shaver's handle is squarish and non-ergonomic making it difficult to hold for anyone (like myself) with arthritic hands. Unlike the Prestige or the older 9000 series (i.e. 9700 and 9300) that were contoured, this handle is simply long and uncomfortable to hold and maneuver. Secondly, the heads are squared off making it difficult to shave under the nose and under the sideburns and close to the ears. The only way to achieve even a modicum of closeness in these areas is to turn the shaver 90 degrees so that either side faces these areas because the sides of the head plates have less area from edge to combs/blades. While it is possible to achieve a reasonably close shave by doing this maneuver, it is not easy nor comfortable. This is, in my opinion, a design flaw that needs to be addressed by Philips. I could say more about my experience owning this shaver (I bought it; it was not part of a promotion) but I'd rather have this review okayed so that other potential buyers can be informed.westlaner

Philips 9000 I have been using Philips shavers for half a century now, and even when I have occasionally tried an alternative I always return to them. My previous shaver was the 9000 Prestige, so that is my main point of comparison, and I have been using this new model for two months so this review is more than an initial reaction. It improves on the Prestige in a number of respects, not least the charging method. I could never see the point of the ‘wireless’ charger of the Prestige, which itself had to be plugged in and was really quite large and unsuitable for travelling, leaving me once without its use when we were locked down abroad at the start of the pandemic and I had not taken the charger. This newer model has a much smaller wired charging stand which charges the shaver in about an hour, compared with the 3 hours the wireless one took. A full charge gives about 100 minutes of shaving which lasts me a little over 3 weeks. You can use it wet or dry, and I find I get a better shave using it wet with soap, but for a quick trim before maybe going out of an evening a dry run over is OK. Lights below the head indicate whether you are pressing too hard or too softly on your face, or just right. I soon found my pressure was OK and so switched this feature off, but it is useful to get started with. The cleaning station is an improvement over earlier Philips versions as it is independent of charging the shaver and does not itself need to be plugged in. Philips have returned to a flip out long hair trimmer on the back of the shaver, rather than having to replace the shaving head with a trimmer as with the Prestige. A weakness is that there is rather a lot of surround of the actual cutters on the shaving head, and this makes it difficult to get into tight places such as under the nose, so you have to use the trimmer to shave that area. Then there is the App. Well, I suppose everything has to have an App these days, so you can’t blame Philips for trying, but if they think I am going to stand in a steaming bathroom over a sink of hot water with a shaver in one hand and my phone in the other, well… But in the end this is a new model and not particularly cheap (depending on what offer you might get), so the main question has to be, does it give a better shave? The answer, for me at least, is yes, but only just. The 9000 Prestige was a quantum leap from its predecessor, and while this does improve on that, it is only marginal. But then that is the law of diminishing returns and Philips have now reached a point where improvements are incremental rather than game changing. I've had roughly the previous 5 generations of the top of the line Philips shavers so I feel I have some good experience when writing this review. I did NOT buy the previous 9000, on account of the fact they had the ridiculously pointless wireless charging. Thankfully Philips saw the error of that gimmick and have re-introduced FAST charging that they nailed down to 1 hour – so I went for this! To the first most glaring new addition – the LED "SkinIQ". This I honestly believe is merely a gimmick, and I have switched the LED off. If you're paying this much, chances are that you've bought previous Philips shavers, so you'll already know how to shave effectively with them. But this generation is far more than just a gimmick – it is a radical new design, and not just with the shaver itself. When I first saw the plastic surrounds around the shaving heads, I again instantly thought "gimmick". However, when I thought about the design, it seems that they're designed to encase the shaver heads completely, and possibly protect them from staining and possibly even damage from shaving gel – which for me is perfect because I CANNOT dry shave comfortably as my skin is horribly sensitive. The next extremely welcome design change is the re-introduction of the flip up side burns trimmer. I saw many comments from Philips users bemoaning the removal of this in the previous couple of generations and I completely agreed with them. This is a really welcome return – but it might be the cause of the one downside to the design – and that is that the position of the power button has been raised higher – to pretty much exactly where your thumb rests holding the shaver when shaving with it. This is going to take some getting used to. Another radical redesign is the cleaning station – which is now a "pod". So radical, in fact, that the cleaning pod does not even need a separate power supply – instead you plonk the shaver into it and press the power button on the shaver! The display on the shaver looks like something from a sci-fi film now – I LOVE it. But don't think it's all style – this shaver is very much substance. The shave itself is comfortable, and the performance is strong. Of course it misses hairs at times – there is no shaver on the planet that won't – and anyone who tries to suggest otherwise is being economical with the truth. The trick is to take note of the areas you're still finding hairs after the shave, and pay extra attention to those next time around. All in all, this is the best package Philips has ever done with the 9000 series. The cleaning solution is great because it's space saving, and fast. The return of the sideburns trimmer, the dropping of the wireless charging gimmick and return to the 1 hour charging that we all love. Smoothest, closest, quickest, cleanest Norelco shave ever. Been using Norelco for many years. Amazing how much better this newer model is compared to its predecessors. For this reason alone. it must be top-rated at 5. However it lacks some features and I almost downgraded the rating to 4. (a) There is no hardwired charging option, (b) There is no safety snap-on head guard. (c) There is no stand for quick, convenient, handy daily storage. (d) Case for entire package is huge – I have some brief cases that are barely any larger. For short-term travel, a week or weekend, don't want to have to pack that huge case, don't usually need a charger. But a hardwired charging option that can be packed/stuffed in the corner or a regular dopp kit for emergency use would be great. A snap-on head guard is important to protect the otherwise exposed head from dings, scratches, & dents. Even when razor is laying flat on the charging pad, the head is facing up and things can be dropped onto the head and hurt it. Why has Philips stopped supplying that snap-on head guard? Why would anyone use the charging pad for daily storage – with the head facing up? The pad doesn't have an on-off switch. No need for it to charge every day. Why not have a stand for the razor so the space needed for daily storage is minimized? Space on bathroom shelf, or in luggage, is typically at a premium. After conducting a somewhat extensive exercise of due diligence in picking my new electric razor, I started to lean very heavily towards the Philips s9000 prestige. I admit I did have some apprehension because of the top end price tag associated with this product, but it was immediately alleviated on possession. Now after two months of using this on everything from a 1 to 5 day growth, it has performed flawlessly. I can wholeheartedly say it's the best electric razor I've ever used. Geat battery life with a slick and convenient wireless QI charger, All accompanied with superb styling and great performance, delivering an exceptionally close shave that's not far off a wet shave, with very minimal effort. When I first pressed the on button I knew I was in for a new experience in shaving. The torque of the motor inside this very solid body was amazing. The whole case twisted solid in my hand. I knew there was power to spare. As I glided the three articulating cutters over my beard I could hear and feel the power and the smoothness of every stroke. I'm 76 but, it felt like shaving a young 17 year old again. I kicked it up a notch to high speed to tackle the hair on the back of my neck, the barber missed, and to my surprise it mowed through that area like a champ, using the trimmer attachment that came with the purchase. This is my second one blade so the fact that I ordered another one says it all! As someone with very sensitive, acne and in grown hair prone skin I was never able to shave using the traditional razor and shaving cream method. I have tried out many hand held razors from cheap to very expensive but none of them lasted more than a few months never mind an entire year. I saw the one blade at my local pharmacy and decided to try it as I’ve had decent success with norelco in the past. This was the shaver I’ve needed and wanted all my life! The flat head design ensures stability while shaving and also makes it incredibly easy to shape my beard, side burns etc. What I love the most about the one blade is that it shaves the skin pretty much as close as a regular razor without the “side effects” of a traditional razor. No longer do I suffer with acne, razor bumps or irritation after shaving. This new one blade greatly improves upon the first iteration in the design of the guides and charging stand. The first one had individual length guides that didn’t really stay on that well and no charging base. I love the design of this new model because the guide stays on even while trimming the jawline and the lcd screen shows how much charge is left. For how small this thing is it has always held a charge very well. I shave about every week-ish and a full charge lasts about a month depending on how much I shave. The disposable heads last a long time as well given I tidy-up the thicker hair of the torso and below the belt, using a separate blade of course. My first one blade has lasted me over 3 years and it would probably still work if I didn’t drop it so much. To sum up my review, if anyone has had the same issues as I have using a traditional razor than I implore you to give this a try! Your skin will thank you!JNYC

I have always struggled with shavers, I am fair haired and my beard grows slowly so I usually go clean shaven but recently I have tried some different lengths of beard. With this Oneblade Pro I can manage the length easily, the guard comes with an adjustable comb so you can set it between 0.5 and 10mm, the best bit about that is it adjusts so simply with a turn of the wheel, the numbers are nice and clear so it's easy to set where you want it and it also doesn't move while shaving so you get a good even shave. I have attached a couple of photos, when I heard I was getting this I let my beard grow out so it was pretty long and untamed, for the first try I basically took it all off with a combination of using the guard and then removing it for a smooth finish, you can see the difference and it was an effortless shave no fuss and a nice smooth face. Battery life wise it's great so far, charged up once, used every day for a week and it's still going strong, I am guessing it will need charging soon but I can't complain at all. It is comfortable in the hand and us really sinple to use, the rotating head makes shaving so easy and it follows the contours of your face very well. It.comes with an extra blade for body shaving which I haven't used yet but its good to have the option. It comes with a standard 2 pin shaving plug for the bathroom socket and the lead is long enough to not cause any issues. It's much better for me than having to use a beard trimmer if I want to have some decent stubble and have a separate razor for when I want to be clean shaved, this does both really well and I would recommend it to anyone.Mooseman34

I will start this review by saying that I've exclusively used electric razors basically since I discovered what they were after I started shaving. I've used many different types and qualities over the years to varying levels of success. Unfortunately, the Philips Norelco Oneblade Pro fails to live up to the hype. In concept, the idea is interesting and unique, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. To start, the blade touts itself as being able to handle all lengths of hair, and I had gone almost 2 weeks without a shave (which is uncommon for me) so I figured what better way to test it. I tend to shave my neck clean and leave a bit of a 2-3 day shadow on my face so that's what I aimed for. While it accomplished this task, it was much more difficult and took much longer than my traditional method. I started with clean saving using the Oneblade without the guard on it, and it does well enough, although since it only cuts along the top and bottom edges, I found covering large flat areas to be a bit of an interesting experience. Since it doesn't cut directly under the flat middle part of the blade, you have to be sure there is room to move the blade up and down around it without cutting hair you don't want cut. The angle of the blade on the base does not lend itself to this experience. Trying to angle it without flipping it over is nearly impossible, and flipping it over means the teeth of the blade are directly against your skin. Fortunately the rounded edges do save you from any terrible mishaps, but it still does not lend itself to a very easy shaving experience. Once I finished the clean shaven portion of my neck, I attached the comb and set it to '3' (which I imagine is something akin to 3mm of my old Philips Norelco comb. It does manage to keep a consistent 3mm cut throughout, but it's like taking a weed-eater to a full yard of 5ft weeds. Yes, it CAN do it, but it does not do it well. As the blades cut the hair, it would just pile up and jam into the top of the comb until the comb and blades so full of hair they could no longer reach my face, and instead required me to remove the comb, tap out the hair and brush off the blades. The other strange thing about this design is that with the comb installed, only one of the two cutting edges is in use, which means if you only ever use it with the comb installed, or mostly use it with the comb installed, you will dull one side of the blade much sooner than the other. The blade cannot be flipped over to allow you a fresh cutting edge on the side that you use less. One thing I will mentioned about this, is that it is more comfortable than any travel razor I've ever used. So for travel, I would choose it over most other options if you're not willing to pack a bigger or bulkier razor. Bottom line, It will accomplish what it set out to do, but unfortunately it does not do any of those things well. It's comfortable, if a little strange to use and does not nick or cut the skin even if you have to use it at strange angles. But for the same tasks there are better options.Beradon

My husband feels the blades aren’t sharp enough for thicker hair even with the two different blades they offer. It does maintain your beard in between barber visits but overall he feels that he would switch brands after a little more research into these types of shavers. One big plus he says is the battery. He’s only had to charge it once since opening it and it’s been well over a month. Overall it gets the job done but if you are very meticulous about your beard you may want to invest in a higher end shaver.vanessa .r

i liked the design and the concept of the trimmer… and I realized before i bought it that i would have to spend money before i found out if it was any good. But such is life, and it does look pretty nifty. Searching reviews wasn’t doing any good, nor were review videos off youtube. Every video and review online is sponsored by Philips, and they’ve cornered the market. Every “review” sounds like a infomertial. You just can’t get an honest opinion. So screw it- i just bought one with trepidation.

It’s been a year since then, and here’s my opinion for what it’s worth. The Philips OneBlade is JUNK! To begin with, i shave my face AND head and do so regularly. However, with three days growth, the blade wasn’t able to make it all the way through without being replaced- straight out the box.

The kicker? It has a 3 month shelf life before it won’t charge enough for a shave. That’s right, i’m on number four because they quit charging. All of them. Even now, i’m headed to court in a suit and tie, and half my face is shaved. the other half has a weeks growth from a holiday. I look like an idiot.

Try googling “OneBlade won’t Charge” and watch a new world open up before you. Thousands of people also have this issue, not to mention blade life when they cost a fortune.

Nothin beats an all in one face shaver when you don’t have to go back and forth between different styles of razor's. Philips Norelco OneBlade 360 Face has precise accuracy and gets a very close shave! I love how close it gets without having to use a straight razor. The blade and head of the shaver runs close to the skin to catch the smallest hairs and leaves it baby soft. I was surprised at how well it did with only one pass and hands down will use this one for every shave. Phillips designed this product with shaving in mind and in my several uses, I have yet to see the normal cuts you would get with a regular razor. My favorite part is how the blades line up my beard so easily without frustration. The slim design is easy to see around and fits in a travel bag perfectly. The battery is long lasting and charges very quick. This took over the #1 spot in my shave routine and has been going strong for me without an issue. Phillips nailed this one!!!AudiDad88

First time I used Oneblade I was amazed. Still today I use it almost always over other 3 types of razor I have. Razor(5 blade), trim razor rechargeable, and electric 3 head rechargeable are the three. They all work fine but the Oneblade does the job so much better. This is one of those products that you hope the manufacture doesn't ever discontinue. It is like nothing I have tried before, until you try you will not understand. I know I should tell you how smooth it is, how close it cuts, how it never cuts you, and it is amazing ability to get those curved areas of the face as easy as anything. If you purchase it and you do not like it I give, well it is not my product. But the faith in it is that strong you could put your promise on the product. Price around $29 is the another reason you can come up with to cause any more delay. I will stop acting silly, seriously a great product. This is from a proud owner of one since spring 2022.Joey

I bought this model online during the Black Friday sales in November 2021. It was to replace my older model Series 7 which has been a fantastic shaver. Please be aware that the newer generation Series 7 like this one uses a separate precision trimmer head that is not built into the shaver. The precision trimmer is not included in this particular retail kit. And you cannot buy it separately in Australia unless you opt to purchase an entire beard trimming and manscaping kit. I don't have a beard. And I'm not into manscaping. So this shaver is incredibly useless in its current state. Normally I would not have made this error of judgement because I would have purchased in-store after inspecting it. But in-store purchase wasn't possible during COVID-19 lockdown. Shaver Shop referred me to Braun, who referred me to their spare parts distributor who was actually very helpful, but it seems I've bought a dud. I can't rate the product because I've frankly only used it once.Philby

I'll start by saying a lot of the reviews I've seen here have been discussing the fact that instructions aren't included and comments about the fact there is no heater/dryer in the base. First off there is literally only 1 button on the shaver and 1 button on the base (outside of the base ejection button for swapping the cleaning juice). If you struggle with this shaver then there are likely bigger problems in your life. This is very simple shaver that seriously needs no instructions. As for the base always launching the cleaning cycle when you only want to charge the shaver… the shaver battery lasts over an hour. My shaves take approximately 5 minutes. That means I could shave, without the need for charging, or cleaning the shaver 12 times. If after 12 shaves you still don't want to clean the shaver then I don't know what to tell you other than you might want to consider evaluating your hygiene habits. Also, the cleaning solution/juice if not used will evaporate, so you might as well use it. I run the cycle after about 3-4 shaves and the next day it's dry and ready to go. Now for the real review… I previously owned a 5 series Braun many years back and more recently owned a 9 series Braun about 3 years ago. I also have owned/tried Remington, Philips, Manscape, and Wahl shavers in the last 3 years so I have a lot of experience and by far this is better than every shaver I have tried, including the 9 series and I'll explain why. First off, my 9 series broke about 3 years ago only 4 months after purchasing it. The trimmer failed to run; the rest of the shaver still functioned. Anyway, I dealt with the customer service and found it lacking. I mailed the shaver off and after calls asking the status, they told me to be patient. 2 months later I moved, lost my USPS tracking receipt, and finally the Braun customer service acknowledged they didn't have the shaver and asking for shipping confirmation. I no longer had the receipt so I couldn't prove I mailed it. $300 down the drain. So, for the next few years I avoided Braun products. I tried many others and finally gave up and settled with disposable shavers. I seen this sale after all this time and decided to try this shaver/Braun again. The motor on this shaver is louder and more powerful than the 9 series I remember. The attachments are easy to swap and use. I found the lack of an in-built trimmer a little frustrating as it takes a bit of time to swap heads. A small sacrifice as the trimmer itself is leaps and bounds stronger than the 9 series in-built shaver and far easier and more precise to use. Now onto a more sensitive topic, trimming of more delicate parts of the body. My god, this shaver has blown me away and establishes its true value here. The included beard/stubble trimmer attachment, normally meant for beards, has been a godsend for that area and blows Manscape products out the water. Honestly Manscape products are far overrated, and I found before this shaver, a Wahl cordless shaver with the correct guide to be much better. The Stubble and Beard trimmer was better than every product I've ever tried, and I can easily say with confidence that there is absolutely nothing better. This was the first shave I ever had that didn't tear me to shreds and cause excessive bleeding there. The shave is also faster as the newfound confidence allows me to shave without worry of nicks. While I will say it did nick once, the nick was barely noticeable or felt and didn't bleed. A serious gamechanger. The included guides that were notches of 1, 2, or 3 were additions nice but a close trim is possible without worry with guide 1. Seriously, this attachment should be marketed completely differently as it's outstanding. I'm speaking again of the Beard and Stubble Trimmer with 2 notch 1 guides, not the Precision Trimmer attachment as I would be far too scared to use that attachment down there. Also, while the Beard and Stubble trimmer is attached you can still run the cleaning cycle when the shaver is inserted into the base! Honestly that was an amazing discovery as the ability of having that attachment cleaned by the base, especially after shaving in that area, was a huge win for hygiene. On to the real purpose of this shaver, your face… It does a great and thorough job but requires many passes. This shaver shines in giving this quality shave without pulling or nicks. It rivals disposable shaver shaves without the irritation. The requirement of some extra passes is worth it. The 9 series did provide a faster shave as it required fewer passes of the same area, but it did not provide a better shave. The difference being the 9 series is almost 2 – 2.5x as expensive and has a far worse trimmer, no beard and stubble trimmer which again shines where you would least expect it to and had suspect reliability. I have given this product 4 stars as the customer service, if you ever need it, is lacking and I’ll likely always have a chip on my shoulder towards Braun for simply makingAlan

I recently bought this machine and this is the first machine I've had with an associated charging/cleaning station. I have previously used Braun shavers for years, but these were not cleaned in this way. Then I wonder about this: The machine was delivered with 1 pc. Braun Clean & Renew, and according to the manual, the machine must be cleaned after each use. Then the contents of the cleaning station will last for approx. 30 days. If I don't clean every day the contents will evaporate within 8 weeks. This kind of fabric is very expensive to buy new, and I wonder if this type of cleaning is necessary. Online, it is also possible to buy a type of powder which, however, must be mixed with some type of ethanol. Then the price will be a fraction of the price for new containers. However, I have managed without such cleaning since I started with Braun shavers 50 years ago. However, according to the manual, I do not need to clean the machine in this way, but only rinse it clean under running water. What do I risk by maintaining the machine without using the cleaning station. Will it then have a limited lifespan? Will the machine have a longer life if I use a cleaning spray and shower my head after each cleaning under water?Ivar

Purchased a Series 9 in January of 2022. I believe the manufacturer states that you should be able to get 18 months out of a blade (which are very expensive to replace). I started finding that my beard was taking longer and longer each day to get a good shave out of and as a result, the battery lasts me 5 days at best. This started to happen after about 4-5 months of use. It is difficult to get to the 6 months point without replacing the blade no less 18 months. Given that, it is a very expensive shaver to own and I am disappointed. My Braun series 5 performed much much better but it's been discontinued.stinger

I have used this shaver only twice. Both times dry, once after 3 days of not shaving, once after on day. Shaver is noisy, but the shave is smooth. After 3 days takes a long time. You have to passed on your face several times. If you shave couple of times a week this is not the right shaver. Don't cut the fine hairs on the neck. Curvature of the shaving head dose not allow to reach under the nose. But you can use the trimmer. Trimmer width is too narrow and too close to shaver head. This shaver is not for traveling. Cleaning part to bulky and cleaning solution can not be put in carrying case (TSA), so you need to carry a suite case and pay extra, unless you are travelling first class. No plastic cover for shaving head, but carrying case quite good and sturdy. A plastic cap can be produced in China for about 50 cents. Consumables. Require cleaning solution and lubricant oil. All extra expenses. This a good shaver, but not suitable if you travel and if you don't mind the bulky cleaning and consumable. They don't want to sell just a shaver, but also a steady income stream by selling consumable.Jeffj

I purchased this product about 2 months ago when my older 7000 series shaver finally gave out after more than 5 years. I had used a 3000 series before, and the 7000 was a great upgrade and provided a clean comfortable shave. I thought the 9000 series was an upgrade from the 7000, but apparently I was completely wrong. My first shave with this razor was extremely painful, pulling hairs constantly and also provided a much worse cut than my old 7000 series. After my first shave with it the very first response my wife gave me was "Why didn't you use the new shaver you just got?" That hurt almost as much as the shave. In any case, I decided it might just be the new style of shaver head and my beard/face needed time to "adapt" and gave it a while. After one month, no change, and today is the 2 month anniversary and I'm done with this razor. It still pulls multiple times every shave with just one day worth of hair growth, and I have to shave twice as long (at least) to get anywhere near the closeness of shave I get with my old 7000 series. I think part of the issue is the new foil design, specifically the gold cover which appears to have box holes that basically just grab and yank out hair, baffling design to me. In any case, I will warn everyone I know to stay very far away from this razor. If you happen to be unlucky and have one yourself, I'd urge you to upgrade to a 7000 series shave as you will find it works better than this razor in every way. Shaving in the morning shouldn't feel like punishment and having to suffer through constant yanks and burns, and that's all this razor provides. I honestly have no idea where the positive reviews for this thing come from, unless they've just never used an electric shaver before and don't know how much better things can be when they are done right.DevDan

This is a great, Great Razor!!! It must be charged for the night or a few hours when you first get it though. You don't need to leave it plugged in though. Once it has been charged fully, you will have several days worth of power. It is very quiet, it gives a really close shave and it is really smooth on the face. In addition, it is very simple to clean. You can removed the guard and it reveals the blades of the razor. You just run some water over the blades and it removes the hair clippings.bj987keller

The Good: Great feel, grip, shave, ease of cleaning, quick charge time, trimmer is handy for sideburns to shape them up between haircuts. The Bad: I have now gone through two of these in about 2 years….the first lasted about 18 mos, the second, about 5. Problem? For whatever reason, after awhile, it will not charge. I also use shaving cream when I get out of the shower and use the razor, rinse it before, during and after use….and always and I mean always, after the period of time, you get up, plug it in, go in the shower, come out, dead. It won't charge. My guess? The Lithium Ion Batts. While ALL batteries have a lifespan, they should be much longer thant this. I rinse the head during shaving (shaving cream buildup and hair) 2-3 times while shaving paying attention to let the water drain down 90-95%….I don't think it's water intrusion….as deep as this thing goes is running it under the faucet head down? I used both the old and new charger….the new one shows all power lights on for about 2-3 seconds, goes dim, dead……there is something about these batteries that are not right….I am off to Walmart this mornign to get a 3rd in less than 3 years THIS time WITH the cheap warranty…..I have used Brauns for over 30 years and the batteries always seem to be the issue…do NOT pack them in luggage that will go in the cargo hold or you will find them dead, not chargeable when you get to your destination…this one is ONLY used at home. I take a cheap corded Braun on the road and it's about 20 years old now, still works but it's a dry shave…irritating…….I like the ability to use shaving cream for a much more comfortable shave but, this battery thing is aggravating…..over the 30 years I have gone through multiple 3, 5, 7 and 9 series razors…they ALL have battery failures eventually…so you end up buying a new one…..why? Because the other brands suck MORE. I have had Remington, Norelco (couldn't shave close with a gun to it's head), Chinese knockoffs even a small cordless from Harbor Freight that despite is size and slow speed delivered a great shave until it quit working…..it seems that if a rechargeable battery is run for 20 mins a day max, 6-7 days a week, it SHOULD last more than 6 months….never dropped, never abused, always left open on the counter after rinsing to let the head and razor dry after separated….still died….ridiculous…..I only hope the warranty is worth something when the next one croaks….no warning either….just dies…..still the best brand overall….Terry

I've never really liked wet dry shavers but this one changed my mind. it shaves flawless and leaves you face as smooth as using a traditional razor. i love that it's wireless and it charges very quickly and stays charged for a great amount of time. and cleaning is a breeze with the included brush and removable heads. you can also remove the head and run it under water for a deep clean. all around this is and excellent shaver.James

My 4 star rating might be too high. 3 1/2 might be more accurate. My instructions say that when you charge the razor that the light will stop blinking when it is fully charged (about 2 or 3 hours). However, the first few times I would charge it, the light would still be blinking after 4 or 5 hours. So, after 3 hours I consider it to be fully charged, even though the light is still blinking. The razor needs to be recharged more frequently as compared to previous Norelco razors that I owned. I need to recharge it after about 5 days. Previous Norelco razors I would recharge about once every 10 days. Overall, I still get a nice shave from it, so I am not totally disappointed.PSUVPI

About 5 years ago I bought a low end, series 2000, Norelco shaver and I was impressed with how well it worked for the price. So, it was time to get a new one and I bought a new Series 2000. This time I was horrified with how horrible it was. Low power, low RMP motor, low capacity and low power battery. It takes about 20 passes (literally) over an area to shave without feeling too much stubble. The literature says 40 minutes of charge time but you can feel and hear the motor weakening during the same shaving session, after starting with a full charge. The literature also says something about “self-sharpening blades that cut hair just above skin level”. If that was the design criterion then that is the problem. It appears that the blades glide over the hair. I can appreciate the pressure to keep prices low, but selling is dysfunctional product doesn't make for happy customers. So, why don't I buy a more expensive model? Because the more expensive models have essentially the same mechanical guts, except that they have superfluous and worthless gimmicks such as "self cleaning" or "smart hair sensor". As opposed to a stupid hair sensor? Too bad. My next shaver is going to be some other brand. Side note to the Philips designer,s engineers and bean counters: You never make a newer product that is so obviously worse than an old one.Hairy Dude

ONLY TRIED THIS SHAVER FOR 3 DAYS BUT WANTED TO GIVE MY IMPRESSION AFTER 60 YEARS HAVE SHAVING MY HAND. I HAVE GAINING A LOT OF WEIGHT THE LAST 3 YEARS SO HAS MY FACE. DOUBLE EDGE WASN'T DOING IT UNDER THE LIP AND CHIN AREA. LOTS OF CUTS. BOUGHT THE 2300 CHEAP AND I AM IMPRESS. CLEAN SHAVE AROUND THE CHIN, BETTER THAN BLADE. SECOND, I CAN SIT IN MY LIVING ROOM CHAIR AND 3 MINUTES A DAY , SMOOTH OUT MY FACE WITH NO STUBBLE'S. CONS ON THIS SHAVER IS THE BATTERY. 8 HOURS TO CHARGE SHOULD BE OUTLAWED. NEVER HAD A NI-CAD THIS POOR. VERY POOR QUALITY CONTROL OF BATTERY. DOES NOT MATTER AS I HAVE THE POWER CORD PLUG IN NEXT TO MY CHAIR. THEREFORE, IT IS A WINNER FOR ME. I bought this model online during the Black Friday sales in November 2021. It was to replace my older model Series 7 which has been a fantastic shaver. Please be aware that the newer generation Series 7 like this one uses a separate precision trimmer head that is not built into the shaver. The precision trimmer is not included in this particular retail kit. And you cannot buy it separately in Australia unless you opt to purchase an entire beard trimming and manscaping kit. I don't have a beard. And I'm not into manscaping. So this shaver is incredibly useless in its current state. Normally I would not have made this error of judgement because I would have purchased in-store after inspecting it. But in-store purchase wasn't possible during COVID-19 lockdown. Shaver Shop referred me to Braun, who referred me to their spare parts distributor who was actually very helpful, but it seems I've bought a dud. I can't rate the product because I've frankly only used it once.Philby

I'll start by saying a lot of the reviews I've seen here have been discussing the fact that instructions aren't included and comments about the fact there is no heater/dryer in the base. First off there is literally only 1 button on the shaver and 1 button on the base (outside of the base ejection button for swapping the cleaning juice). If you struggle with this shaver then there are likely bigger problems in your life. This is very simple shaver that seriously needs no instructions. As for the base always launching the cleaning cycle when you only want to charge the shaver… the shaver battery lasts over an hour. My shaves take approximately 5 minutes. That means I could shave, without the need for charging, or cleaning the shaver 12 times. If after 12 shaves you still don't want to clean the shaver then I don't know what to tell you other than you might want to consider evaluating your hygiene habits. Also, the cleaning solution/juice if not used will evaporate, so you might as well use it. I run the cycle after about 3-4 shaves and the next day it's dry and ready to go. Now for the real review… I previously owned a 5 series Braun many years back and more recently owned a 9 series Braun about 3 years ago. I also have owned/tried Remington, Philips, Manscape, and Wahl shavers in the last 3 years so I have a lot of experience and by far this is better than every shaver I have tried, including the 9 series and I'll explain why. First off, my 9 series broke about 3 years ago only 4 months after purchasing it. The trimmer failed to run; the rest of the shaver still functioned. Anyway, I dealt with the customer service and found it lacking. I mailed the shaver off and after calls asking the status, they told me to be patient. 2 months later I moved, lost my USPS tracking receipt, and finally the Braun customer service acknowledged they didn't have the shaver and asking for shipping confirmation. I no longer had the receipt so I couldn't prove I mailed it. $300 down the drain. So, for the next few years I avoided Braun products. I tried many others and finally gave up and settled with disposable shavers. I seen this sale after all this time and decided to try this shaver/Braun again. The motor on this shaver is louder and more powerful than the 9 series I remember. The attachments are easy to swap and use. I found the lack of an in-built trimmer a little frustrating as it takes a bit of time to swap heads. A small sacrifice as the trimmer itself is leaps and bounds stronger than the 9 series in-built shaver and far easier and more precise to use. Now onto a more sensitive topic, trimming of more delicate parts of the body. My god, this shaver has blown me away and establishes its true value here. The included beard/stubble trimmer attachment, normally meant for beards, has been a godsend for that area and blows Manscape products out the water. Honestly Manscape products are far overrated, and I found before this shaver, a Wahl cordless shaver with the correct guide to be much better. The Stubble and Beard trimmer was better than every product I've ever tried, and I can easily say with confidence that there is absolutely nothing better. This was the first shave I ever had that didn't tear me to shreds and cause excessive bleeding there. The shave is also faster as the newfound confidence allows me to shave without worry of nicks. While I will say it did nick once, the nick was barely noticeable or felt and didn't bleed. A serious gamechanger. The included guides that were notches of 1, 2, or 3 were additions nice but a close trim is possible without worry with guide 1. Seriously, this attachment should be marketed completely differently as it's outstanding. I'm speaking again of the Beard and Stubble Trimmer with 2 notch 1 guides, not the Precision Trimmer attachment as I would be far too scared to use that attachment down there. Also, while the Beard and Stubble trimmer is attached you can still run the cleaning cycle when the shaver is inserted into the base! Honestly that was an amazing discovery as the ability of having that attachment cleaned by the base, especially after shaving in that area, was a huge win for hygiene. On to the real purpose of this shaver, your face… It does a great and thorough job but requires many passes. This shaver shines in giving this quality shave without pulling or nicks. It rivals disposable shaver shaves without the irritation. The requirement of some extra passes is worth it. The 9 series did provide a faster shave as it required fewer passes of the same area, but it did not provide a better shave. The difference being the 9 series is almost 2 – 2.5x as expensive and has a far worse trimmer, no beard and stubble trimmer which again shines where you would least expect it to and had suspect reliability. I have given this product 4 stars as the customer service, if you ever need it, is lacking and I’ll likely always have a chip on my shoulder towards Braun for simply makingAlan

I recently bought this machine and this is the first machine I've had with an associated charging/cleaning station. I have previously used Braun shavers for years, but these were not cleaned in this way. Then I wonder about this: The machine was delivered with 1 pc. Braun Clean & Renew, and according to the manual, the machine must be cleaned after each use. Then the contents of the cleaning station will last for approx. 30 days. If I don't clean every day the contents will evaporate within 8 weeks. This kind of fabric is very expensive to buy new, and I wonder if this type of cleaning is necessary. Online, it is also possible to buy a type of powder which, however, must be mixed with some type of ethanol. Then the price will be a fraction of the price for new containers. However, I have managed without such cleaning since I started with Braun shavers 50 years ago. However, according to the manual, I do not need to clean the machine in this way, but only rinse it clean under running water. What do I risk by maintaining the machine without using the cleaning station. Will it then have a limited lifespan? Will the machine have a longer life if I use a cleaning spray and shower my head after each cleaning under water?Ivar
