As to the post about the plastic insert below the cap being a problem, I purchased a bottle of this Italian oil and thought the same thing until I tilted the bottle and held it there for a couple of seconds. Then the stream of olive oil was just perfect. Most olive oils inserts let too much olive oil out, but this insert (to me) is just perfect. It's more of a drizzle than a pour.
As for the taste, I really don't like the taste of olive oil, so I add it to my food before I eat it and then I can't taste it. It just adds a more complex dimension to the taste.Sandy

This olive oil is something special. I find myself reducing ingredients in my dishes so that I don’t overwhelm the taste of my oil. Perfect for salads. My kids delightfully dip their bread in it. I use it to lavishly finish roasted vegetables. I have even had a spoon or two to sooth an upset stomach. If you want elevated cuisine you have to elevate the ingredients. Papa Vince olive oil is in a class all of its own. Worth every penny. It’s inspired many dishes in my kitchen. I’ve added the orange oil as essence to a whipped cream. As other reviewers have stated, this Olive Virgin Oil face cream is great but because it is so thick, it's not practical for daily "day time use". I love the entire Olive Virgin Oil line, including the discontinued Olive Leaf Milk, which was perfect for my daytime moisturizer. So I thought I'd give the "cream" a try. But it's too thick for me. I'll have to go back to a product that I purchased years before I discovered DHC because I haven't found a match to the Olive Leaf Milk, sadly. Please bring a product that is light weight in the Olive Virgin Oil line. And yes, I've tried the Rich Moisture, but it's not comparible to the past Olive Leaf Milk. I was fortunate enough to receive this serum free of charge from #influenster and #jlobeauty as part of a #voxbox campaign, in return for my honest review. This is such a lovely product! It is packed with powerhouse ingredients that are so good for your skin. It feels light, breathable and comfortable. It sinks into the skin, leaving no residue behind. The skin feels immediately firm, refreshed and smooth. The formula has no scent, and is neither sticky, nor oily. A real joy to use! As per Jlo website, the key ingredients are: Jlo Beauty® Olive Complex, an antioxidant-rich, 4-part olive blend of squalane, fermented oil, extra virgin oil and leaf extract. Japanese rice sake ferment that brightens and conditions. Yeast-derived ferment, known for its antioxidant and smoothing properties. I was super excited to receive the That JLo Glow Serum with Olive Complex complimentary from influenster in exchange for my honest opinion. Upon opening the voxbox, the first thing I noticed was the magnificent, luxe crystal looking bottle in which the product is housed. This only furthered my curiosity as to the product and its effectiveness. The pump bottle only requires one pump for ample coverage on the face. If you choose to apply it to the neck and décolletage, an additional pump is necessary. As the lightweight, non-sticky product begins to adsorb into the skin, there is a mild tightening sensation. Upon using this unscented product for several weeks, I found the serum to be very hydrating with some noticeable plumping of fine lines. Personally, I don't see a need for a moisturizer as the serum is quite moisturizing within itself.sgowins
When I first seen the bottle I thought “Oh it’s so pretty!”, and then I picked it up. It’s cheap lightweight plastic! I’d say it’s a mid-range price for a face serum, and because of that I expected they would put a bit more effort into the packaging. I prefer glass bottles, or at least a higher quality material than cheap plastic. Putting that aside my next issue was with the pump. I’m hoping I just got a bad bottle but when I pump it the serum squirts out very forcefully- it literally went right past my hand onto my wall! I have to make sure I cup the pump to make sure the serum actually stays on my fingers. Then I noticed the smell. I am a fan of fragranced skin care but this does not smell good at all. I can’t pinpoint exactly what it smells like, but it almost has a spoiled smell to it. I tried to give it a chance and just deal with the smell hoping I’d see some results within a week or so, but the slight hydration and basic plumping is not enough for me to continue using it. It felt like it would be very hydrating while I was applying it, but it dried down very quickly and my skin just felt smooth and dry, not hydrated at all. I did notice slight plumping which was nice, but I didn’t have any of the results that they claim in the ads and description. All in all, I feel it’s over priced and underwhelming. I don't like strong or weak olive oil and this is perfect for tossing on pasta or a salad. When refrigerated, it's solid. So I take it out about 15 minutes before needing it and rest the bottle on its side on the counter. I want to address this first: Cyclomethicone is actually one of the better silicones. It's used in products to give them a slippery feeling, aids in combing, increases gloss, and eventually evaporates. (Leaving very little build up…if any at all.) Traces of it can be cleansed away with mild shampoos and even some conditioners. The previous reviewer seems to dislike all silicones. *side-eye* Different strokes for different folks. There's a difference between a bad product and a product that may have been bad for a particular person's hair. This is a good product. Please don't write off this product because of one (biased) bad review. Moving on… My hair is a type 4 a/b (relaxed) and I've been on my healthy hair journey for over a year. I love this stuff and have been using it for months. The consistency of it kind of reminds me of a (thin) hair serum, but it never weighs my hair down. My hair is always still bouncy and even has less frizz after applying it. I use it sometimes to seal or just for the extra shine and amazing citrus smell. It also contains a ceramide (wheat germ oil) which is supposed to be great for relaxed hair.
First off Thank you SB for shipping to military overseas. Next I received this oil today and immediately used it on my skin and nails left so soft and smooth. . I will use this oil on my natural hair as well. I purchase this oil with the buy 2 get 1 free great deal. So I currently have three bottles one on my desk and the others in my stash. This oil smells great, light, absorbs well, non greasy, and very moisturizing. I will continue to use this Olive oil in my beauty regimen.
I have almost shoulder length fine hair. I have been combing it straight back for years. I do have natural curly hair but you would not know it except towards the back. It looks really nice combed back until I go outside and a light breeze strikes it, it becomes a mess like a Troll Doll, so I wear a baseball cap majority of the time. After shampooing and cream rinsing and drying it damp with a towel, I used a dime size of the oil and massaged it very well into hair and scalp, shape it with my hand and fingers, let it dry natural and my hair hasn't looked this good in years, curls all came back to life and get compliments from time to time and the wind isn't an issue any longer.. As the other reviewers have said, I also fine it not greasy or oily. When I want to recover it from sleep or other before I shampoo again, I just splash water from my hands, reshape it and I'm good to go.
