20 Best Pastel Pink Hair Dye (Jan 2023 Update)

I’m trying to grow out my highlights & “embrace the grey” but have a bit of fun with temporary colour while I do so. I bought this product after a lot of internet research. Did my patch test, this is a “natural” product, no ammonia, parabens etc so was hopeful. All ok & did a couple of strand tests too. Ready to go! PLEASE make sure you wear gloves, mask around your face, ears & neck with a barrier cream, rinse hair out over a sink or bath. DON’T shower it off over your body! You will look like a Smurf! I wanted to temporarily colour my hair for the start of the football (soccer) season. I left the blue on for about 2 and a half hours & the purple & pink for about an hour and a half. I wrapped my head in cling film in case it dripped, it’s a nice thick gel, so I don’t think it would but better safe that sorry. It smells fruity so no stinky head while you wait. I loved the result! My hair felt soft & moisturised, still does. I knew the blue wouldn’t last as long, red tones grip better, so after 2 weeks & 13 double shampoo washes, the blue has almost gone but the pink & purple is going strong. I still get purple hands while showering but no skin transfer so all good. I forgot to take a before so the first photo is after the strand test but you can kind of see my highlighted, grey & mousey “before” hair. Second & third photos are a day after colouring. Fourth & fifth is to show how the pink & purple have washed out & the blue is almost gone after a lot of washes. If you want a longer lasting semi permanent colour, I would highly recommend this product! Love this product!! Used for over 10 yrs now. Use Vaseline around ears and edges of face to keep stains off skin. Nail polish remover will do the rest. I have black hair and it will only show on porous strands such as bleached or blonde – otherwise it has no where to go and will stain things as it comes off. What I love is that it DOES stain which means as it fades out you still have color stained hair until it fades to a more pastel color. Keeps from having to do all the time. I use gloves to apply liberally. Smells delicious! I then wrap in a cap (plastic bag will work, too) and let it stay on as long as I can- note that this method almost blends into my black hair until a first couple washes. Also note that I would lay a towel over my pillow until the first couple washes. Also, note that I use a special towel for drying bc color will come off the wet hair. Also note that I don't wear white or swim until after the first couple of washes. It's a stronger look than a salon color and lasts a VERY long time. So, if you want a fun color for the weekend, choose something else as it really is semi-permanent and doesn't just wash away from bleached or blonde hair. Hope this helps!CrazyHair Bae

I’ve been using Punky Colors since they were originally called ‘Jerome Russell Punky Colours’. I am a professional hairstylist and I love these non-pro colors for solid colors. Cherry on Top is the perfect bright warm red. It’s bright, it’s true to shade, and there isn’t a hint of cold undertone. That’s why I prefer to use Cherry On Top paired up with the diluting clear to create my pastel pinks in warmer colors than the actual Pink Flamingo or Pastel line. It lasts longer and looks like bubblegum. Yes, this color bleeds. A lot. It is a high concentrate of pigment which helps it last longer on bleached hair and coat non-bleached hair. My suggestion to a lot of you is to get a black towel and black pillowcase so you won’t ruin anything! Always wear gloves. And just rinse it the best you can before adding any shampoo. Shampoo is what makes the color spread all over the tub and stain it. Even if you do stain the tub, most porcelain tubs it will wear off. Porous plastic tubs you can get the foaming bleach cleaning spray from any store, spray it and let it set a while, it’ll lessen the red stains. Good luck!Cotton candy Cherry

I used this for the first time this week. I really like the shade. The trick to getting a good application is to make sure you shampoo your hair before application so it’s damp and why residue/build up is gone, which can make the color not adhere to your hair. Remember, semi-permanent coats the surface of your hair, not the cuticle, so you want it as clean as possible. Using it on dry hair will give you a tint, but probably not the bright effect you were hoping for. Liked it so much, I got a few more shades of red and brown to try out.shannon.g

this stuff is AMAZING!! So I have been on the grey silver hair trend (well trying to get there at least) lol and the stuff is a lifesaver! I couldn't get the darn brass out of my hair and it was driving me crazy! tried almost everything! My last option was toning but after all the bleaching I didn't want to use chemicals… this saved my life and turned my pale yellow to a beautiful silver after one wash with a little bit in my shampoo! then I shadow tried with it full strength! no brass slightly profile like I wanted (only in the sun and thats because I left it on as little longer to achieve the purple silver look). I also used it on my son because w bleached his mohawk twice but was still orange like really orange! one freaking wash with a purple shampoo I made with this (a little stronger than the one I made for my hair since his was so orange) and we got a beautiful silver!! I'm 1 wash!! no more expensive purple shampoo for me baby! I got one bottle and have made 3 batches of purple shampoo, shadow ripped my hair fill strength 4 times and still have over half a bottle left! My go to and will always keep it stocked in my house!! totally recommend if having title getting brass out or arrived orange after bleaching and don't want to bleach again!jessica.e

This bottle will last you a good while if you mix with water. It will still do the job and look bright and shiny. I used this to colour the blonde as my regrowth came through and trust me it looks better then having half blonde half black hair. Mixed this with the sapphire and got a beautiful blue. For a back story I am a natural sandy brown and my hair is in a mohawk currently. So I purchased the iroiro neon blue and first I did a bleach kit as I mention darker natural hair as I wanted to get the full effects of the neon. So bleached first then onto the color. I applied the color and left it on for 45 minutes so that i would get the bright vibrant blue i wanted. 45 minutes later i wash dye out under cold water as warm will fade it, didnt want that. However I have been dying hair for 20+years so I'm experienced and know what I'm doing. I am almost a week out and I literally look like I used one of the 1q 0 washes dye because I havent washed it yet but it looks as if I've pretty much combed it right out. This is by far the worst hairdye I have ever used. I've used numerous brands and numerous different colors and I will never purchase this brand again. I would not recommend it as it does not do what it stands behind. Worst product ever.lyndi.t

Ive used multiple Iroiro colors by now (Plum, Pink, Yellow, and one of the blue colors) and I love them. The smell is FANTASTIC, my hair feels great, and the price is worth it. The pouches are so convenient and much easier than having to shake the last bits of dye in a squeeze bottle (aka Arctic Fox). Also the colors, especially pink, last a good while and fade nicely. I just used a mix of plum, pink and yellow on dyed brown hair for a nice color tiny and it looks beautiful in the sun. Definitely recommend. Also cruelty free and thats always important!rebekah.a

This product worked wonderfully. I used L’Oreal colorista for brunettes to make a conditioner to put on my hair first. This is a true burgundy plum on medium brunettes. It came out so red I was impressed. Not that messy imo. My only regret is that this color looks better when I’m pale in winter. Can’t wait to tone it with a true violet. So far Amika violet toning drops are helping make it a bit less extreme. Great color payoff, environmentally friendly packaging, minimal damage. I did not put conditioner underneath to open my cuticle for scalp oil. Great technique for oily scalps. Love. Bought this from Sally’s it was affordable. Easy to stretch too.sheri .h

I bought this on a whim thinking it wouldn't work on my hair, but it works so well! I have light brown hair (the hair colour that happens when you have rlly blonde hair as a kid and then it turns light brown when you are older) and this colour stuck to my hair so well! It was a darker pink that looked so good! I've washed my hair about 6 times now and there is still colour in my hair that is quite visible. I'd definitely recommend this dye over any of the other pink ones for people with darker hair! I've tried the other light colourista one and manic panic and this one is 1000000x better! Just beware if you use it, it will stay in your hair for quite some time!Anna

Does it say semi-permanent? Yes. But… it’s going to add pigment to the hair, therefore some colors will last longer than others… as most greens/blues, those will often last the longest and be harder to remove especially from blonder hair. Purple seems to be the quickest to be washed out and completely gone. The denim blue one definitely lasted the longest and faded into a light green and was only removed after I dyed my hair pink (color cancellation, people) I’ve used this product and most colors very often, it’s not damaging on my hair and my hair is very damaged from bleaching and using heat. I highly recommend this as it’s easy to apply, cheap and usually has great results.Abigail M

Fantastic application color for the hot pink. I was doing this as a test to see if pink was going to look nice with my skin tone before purchasing manic panic…. Color look amazing the first couple of washes. Now, I have half of my hair a rose gold pastel and have still just as vibrant as the initial application. I'm not sure what happened here as this is not something I have experienced before. I was planning on taking temporary with a grain of salt since hair dye is not a one size fits all. I did bleach my hair before application, but that was an all over bleach. All in all, it isn't bad but nowhere near what I expected nor is it uniform. I was hoping to try the blue as well before diving completely into pink but alas, I do not think that will be happening.cokoscorpio

Loved the name and the colour! Was all for it! the colour was absolutely beautiful in the beginning, but be aware!! Your skin and nails will be stained for days/ weeks to come every time you wash your hair. I had to use gloves, each time I washed my hair, or else I would look like princess Fiona. Lol . Even just scratching my head, or washing in the shower, by back and neck was stained. I only wash my hair about twice a week, but it still faded so quickly, after about 2 weeks blond was showing through on top, and I just didn't want to go through the staining process again, so used shampoo and baking soda, to fade it out quicker. I applied this color to very very light blonde hair (bleached — see starter photo). I left it on for maybe 40 minutes and washed it out with warm water and applied a color sealing conditioner. The color washed away immediately — but it did tone my hair and make it very light! This was kind of pretty on its own. I tried again after a couple of days and this time I left the color on for about 4 hours. I applied it and put a bag on my head and just went about my day in my house. After washing it out with COLD water and applying the conditioner the color turned out beautifully! Not sure how it will work out with longevity but I love it!ambirbler

I'd been looking for the right combination to get a natural looking red/auburn (I CANNOT pull off ginger much to my chagrin) for almost a year and was afraid to go red again after my last experience with red (well orange) but I can't talk enough about how good this product is. I had mousy, light brown hair that is, at this point after 5 or so years of frowning it out, virgin hair. I also don't use heat on my hair so it's rather resistant to most temporary, semi- or Demi permanent color, which leads to a LOT of transfer. I have little to no transfer even with day 3-4 hair or after the shower as long as I rinse until the water is clear. I mix the merlot and copper shades 50/50 and use it every other wash in the place of my normal cleansing conditioner which equals about 1x a week for me with my curly girl routine. I've found this maintains the color without having to wait extended periods of time with goop on your head. I only do that every 4-5 washes depending on how my color is holding up. I get so many compliments on the color (it's been described to me as Irish setter red if you want a visual aid). People are shocked when I say it's dyed which is crazy to me but definitely welcome! I have very few gripes about the product, only really two minor things. Unfortunately, like almost every other non-permanent due on the market, it does have silicones, it just comes with the territory but I find that the shampooing with the color keeps my hair from getting too limp or messing with my curl pattern (3A). I don't like silicones but it's a trade-off I find worth it, especially given that I can stop using the product if it's weighing my hair down and messing with the curls. In addition to that, because I have to mix the colors and red is notorious for staining, my hands, my bathroom and tub have become Peach Bellini or red tinted on more than one occasion but that's more me not being careful enough than the product being bad. I've been buying the smaller bottles for 2 years and then last year there was a 50% off sale so i bought 3 of these huge bottles. i lost 2 of the bottles during moving (😭😭😭 i mourned these and ripped apart everything trying to find them) but the big bottle i did get to try, lasted over 6 months, it definitely replaced my use of shampoo AND conditioner bc it DID feel cleaner without having to using a shampoo n i felt like not using a shampoo at all was better. it DOES stain ur tub n shower if u dont wipe it off immediately if it does splatter but honestly worth it. its not AS staining as some other color depositing conditioners ive used, it smells great, and the color DOES last. fyi tho if u scratch ur scalp like i do when im thinking, the color will show up under ur fingernails tho 🤡 you can check my insta n quite literally see how long its lasted me since hair salon color. after using it once touching up roots n overall hair dye at the hair salon, the color literally never faded except for the times i didnt use the clenditioner. i also think it made my hair softer n healthier too. idk ab these hair loss claims but my hair was already losing hair bc of my continuous 4+ years long hair color journey of repeatedly dying it pink for 4 or so years without a break so maybe the hair loss claims are just ab the bleach? or some other environmental factor? i dont think its made it more hair loss-y tho. the color is rosegold however u can see a bit of lilac/lavender colors in there too so ig just be aware? i dont mind it all tho cause i love the pink, rose gold, and lilac/lavender hues i hope they have the 50% off sale again bc if i buy another 3 bottles–im pretty sure itll last 3 years(at least for me) i use to have shoulder length hair but now more like bust length hair. This review is for maintaining fashion color that was done professionally. I had purple and pink rainbow hair. My stylist recommended using this product as directed every other wash. I mixed the pink with a small amount of purple to make a dark pink. It really seemed to revive both colors. I applied to wet hair, used in place of shampoo and conditioner, left in for the rest of my shower, and then rinsed with cool water. Afterwards I applied olaplex hair perfector and a few drops of olaplex oil. Every time my hair was left perfectly soft and clean. I easily made it 3 months between color appointments. The bottle does say to test the product before each use. I imagine there must be some allergic reactions that can result, which I think is supported by several reviews stating they had hair loss. I would recommend being careful about trying to use this as a dye or for extended time on dry hair. This product does not work on my natural brunette growth. Lastly, this can stain your hands, but it won't for long. I just rinse my hands after every segment of hair that I work it into. I also have a scalp scrubber and wide tooth comb that I use to gently distribute so I'm not just using my hands. Rinse the product off of the shower walls and tub or it can stain, but bleach spray takes it right out.B

I used this for Halloween. It looked great, but got EVERYWHERE. I’ve gotten it out of my hair but my skin and everything I touch has it all over. I did this Friday night and it is now Wednesday night. I’ve taken 5 showers, scrubbed things by hand with a sponge in laundry detergent, tried micellar, and even scrubbed my neck with a magic eraser. Even tonight things I’ve touched have had red transfer. It ruined 2 pairs of my work uniform and multiple company shirts and sweatshirts. Some were dark and some were light gray. I touched a white cat on Monday and it GOT ON THE CAT AND STAINED THE CAT. that was DAYS after I used it. It looked wonderful. It washed out of my hair in 2 washes, but it won’t come out of anything else no matter what I do. It dyed my skin and is STILL transferring almost a week later. My boyfriend bought a different brand for 1.50 and his came out first shower and didn’t transfer on anything. Don’t waste your 8 dollars. Photos all taken today, 5 days later.Lexi

The Rose Gold was perfect shade on my blonde hair. Bout the Truest Rose Gold to its name. Not Pink. Not Red. But the deep hue of a pink to red rose. The Gold highlights in metallic to give a magical and natural look. On medium cool blonde looks like Rose Gold jewelry. Ordered from Walmart bc Amazon reviews looked like sellers may not be consistent. And Surprise, It was Cheaper. Was out of stock in my store when I did a Curbside Order so Walmart shipped it to me for free with my over $35 Curbside Order. Bought this for my kids for fun and sprayed the tips of their hair blue. The bottle did say some cloth transfer was possible but didn’t mention that this stuff would turn the entire back of your shirt, your neck and shoulders, hands, and anything you come into contact with blue. It was so messy my kids couldn’t sit down because it was getting all over our chairs. I immediately put them into the shower to rinse it out so it wouldn’t ruin anything else. Two washes later my tub is still blue when they get out even though you can no longer see this product in their hair. It would not be possible to wear this for any length of time without getting covered in color and ruining clothing and furniture.Bluemom

I have being dying my hair bright, vibrant red for just over five years now, and Arctic Fox has been part of my color maintenance routine since day one. Vibrant red hair is not easy to maintain and keep from fading quickly, which can very quickly do serious damage to your hair if your only using ammonia-based chemical dyes every time you need to refresh your color. Arctic Fox doesn't damage hair at all. In fact, it helps undue the damage caused by permanent dyes because it doesn't have any harsh chemicals that strip hair. Arctic Fox is actually GOOD for your hair and works just like a conditioner, not like a hair dye. I add Arctic Fox to my regular conditioner (sulfate free of course) so that every time I wash my hair I'm also keeping my red looking vibrant and even healthier every time. I always wash my hair using the coolest water I can tolerate and after I shampoo I apply my premixed bottle of 3/4 sulfate free conditioner, 1/4 Arctic Fox Wrath + a dollop of Violet Dream and let it sit on my hair secured on top of my with a claw clip while I finish the rest of my shower routine, just like I would do with a nourishing hair mask. Once my routine is done, I rinse out my hair thuroughly in cool water and towel dry it only so I get the most out of conditioning my hair, and viola! My looks, feels softer and healthier than before I washed it, plus my red still looks like it did the day I first day I dyed it. It's a win win. Not only does Artic Fox keep my red looking great, but it leaves my hair healthier every time also. Plus the custom colors you can create by mixing different different Arctic Fox colors together are endless! I was amazed at the color i got by mixing Purple AF + a touch of Aquamarine! It sounds crazy to mix aquamarine and deep purple together, but the color came out a multidimensional dark blue/purple-ish color that changes color depending on how the light hits it. It's my new favorite color! It does come out very dark, so I apply it (no conditioner added) to the bottom 1/3 of my hair and lightly pull the color upwards into my red to get a perfect blended fade from bright red to deep blue/purple. I have virgin dirty blonde hair. I bought the shade Transylvania which is a pure black color. I applied it last night to my clean hair, no products or nothing in it and let it sit in foil for about 40 minutes. I didn't apply the dye to my whole head, I just wanted to add pieces here and there throughout my hair like I've done in the past. Upon rinsing my hair out with cold water and letting it dry I noticed how faded the black looks. In the shower the water ran blue. I know black dyes typically contain blue but this was like a vibrant blueish green. In artificial lighting the dye in my hair looks like a dark grey, but in the natural sunlight it looks like a greyish green which isn't very pretty at the moment. I'm going to give it one more go before I decide whether or not to return this. I usually LOVE arctic fox dyes and have never had issues before but this black dye really needs to be reformulated.Jen

I personally think this dye is great, but I can think of another brand that has more staying power and is cheaper, so for that reason I can only give this 4 stars. The tone of this pink is unique to pinks I have bought previously and I think that's great when wanting some dimension! The texture is hard to describe but not its really creamy or gel like. And I think it smells like peppercorn, which doesn't bother me. I find a tube of this goes a really long way too, which is fantastic! The staying power is pretty average for your vivid pinks. Its rare for them to last too long. But I touch mine up every few washes around the roots and let the rest fade to a pastel, so its no big deal.dominique.f

I recently tried this product for the first time and I think it’s now one of my favorites! I’ve gotten TONS of compliments since I used Blue Ruin and I’ve used them all, over the years. Warning: stuff is Pravana Vivids level of stainage. RIP to a couple of ratty old towels, lol. My hair is between a level 2-3 with grays and I bleach and then highlight it to level 7-8. Pro tip is that I mix this product with a little conditioner and Olaplex 3 and then leave it in my hair for 2 hours. It really saves it from being fried. I have a feeling I’ll be using that combo for a while.lisa.b

I tried to manage my expectations a little with this product, as it’s recommended for light blonde or pre-lightened hair but mine was a balayage with dark blonde/light brown. Turns out it defied my expectations and still came out as a super vibrant red! My hair is chest length and the tube had just about enough to cover nearly my whole head (my roots are dark so I avoided those) with a small amount of conditioner mixed in to stretch it a bit further. I’m now on wash 3 or 4 and I’m surprised by how much colour is still in my hair! The vibrancy has been toned down but it’s definitely still red and I expect it will be for a while yet.Nicole

I purchased Insert Color Here because my elementary age children wanted to dye their hair. I didn't want to use something that would be permanent or really damaging. One has dirty blonde hair and the other medium brown hair, so I wasn't sure how well it would work. The Amethyst Insert Color Here took to their hair very well. My dirty blonde son ended up with a very bright almost "anime" purple hair. My medium brown son came out with a plum color. Both looked really nice. Their hair after dyeing was soft, and there wasn't any awful odors while dyeing. The color faded quicker from my son's medium brown hair than the dirty blonde, but it still still lasted a month and half. My son's dirty blonde hair first faded into an interesting silver color which he also enjoyed, that lingered until about two-ish months out. Now! As much as I have high praises for this stuff, I also purchased the Ruby and Emerald and my kids want to try those colors. However, we are now 4 months since dyeing their hair and my tub still has a purple hue. Despite scrubbing, allowing super hot water to just sit (which lifted the color more than anything), bleach and other chemicals (not at the same time!). So, I am hesitant to use the other colors because I don't know how to not stain my tub again.DazedFlamingo

I love having blue hair so I was really excited to get my hands and hair on this. my only downside is that it does turn my natural honey coloured roots near black, and the scent isnt…amazing. (it is a bit chemically, in comparison to the "typical" semiperm colour super sweet smell) BUT the colour is absolutely beautiful and vibrant and multi dimensional! It does fade to a more greenish tint but that's fine with me. i mixed grumpy bear and royal sapphire and I love it! I’ve been wanting to dye my hair red for years but never followed through with it. But, when I came across this product, I thought “why not?”. I had a balayage prior to the pandemic so still had blonde in my hair & applying this color turned out amazing! It looked beautiful in all kinds of lighting too. I received so many compliments! Just as mentioned, it will wash out after quite a bit of showers! Even as it’s fading away, still loving the color. It was also super easy to apply as it comes with instructions. will say that I don't know if I saw any healing benefits, but I've also upgraded my hair routine a lot recently so that could be why! But on to the color part… it's absolutely amazing. I bought 2 containers because of the BOGO sale, but also because I have hair that goes below my waist so I assumed I'd need that much due to experiences with other brands. Alas, I was wrong. I barely used 1/4 of one of the containers to do my whole head! To be fair, I have brown hair with a bleached streak that was a patchy purple because the last dye I used washed out in some parts but not others (plus a past split dye that caused one half of the ends of my hair to be a light brown while the other is darker), so perhaps that could be why. I applied a pretty good amount to my whole head but especially my bleached area and so a little goes on a long way! It added a red tinge to my dark brown (mahogany vibes), turned the light brown to a pretty dark red, and the bleached streak is a bright red that looks beautiful. You can't even tell that it had purple in it before. I've gotten many compliments and people can't believe it's something I did at home!Macey

Dude, this is the BEST semi permanent hair color I have ever used. In 2018, I suddenly became allergic to regular dyes (PPD and some other unknown ingredients), and was unable to use traditional dye methods. When I say allergy, I mean SEVERE reaction… swollen head, eyes, lymph nodes in my neck. Needed emergency care for the reaction. Luckily for me, I don't have an allergy to bleach (probably because there's no pigment) and was relying on the only coloring agent I didn't have an allergy to, OverTone (I tried Arctic Fox, Manic Panic, and even Henna to no avail). I saw Brad came out with his own color and wanted to give it a try. I am happy to say that I have had ZERO allergic reaction to it and the color deposits so much more beautifully than my previously used products. Minimal bleeding when rinsing as well! Super happy. I wanted to love this hair dye so much, but sadly it just didn't work for me. Based on the reviews of others, I'm guessing it has something to do with my hair..?? Anyway, here are the problems I had: 1. Despite Brad's claims, one pot was not enough for my whole head. I don't have crazy hair. It's curly, barely below my shoulders, normal thickness normal density. I got 3/4 of my head dyed before it ran out. 2. Something about the product made my hair feel almost gummy… even when dry.. weeks later. It threw off my curl pattern and my hair was not greasy but something was off. I could tell it was the product because the top 1/4 didn't get dyed so I had a good comparison haha. My hair has gone back to normal now but I had a month of bad hair days which sucked. 3. Since I ran out of product, I ordered a second pot the day I dyed my hair. By the time the second pot arrived a few days later, (never shampooed, only rinsed with water) the majority of my pink had rinsed out. 4. While parts washed out so fast, I'm left a month later with the weirdest splotches of pink throughout my hair. Like two spots above my ears… so odd. If you've used color like this before and you know it works, I bet this product is great! I wouldn't recommend it if you are new to dying your own hair or if you have natural curls.Abbey

Super easy to use, you have got to try this! Use on pre-lightened hair for processing. This formula does not mix with developer which makes it even more convenient to use! Literally, just apply to the hair (generously) and let it process. Make sure sections are fully saturated with product. Let process 25-45 min and voila! I got this color after a good talk with a rep @ Salon Centric, I wanted a cute color but not too distracting bc of work. She picked this purple for me but I never committed till recently! I got a more blunt mullet and I figured I deff need a color to match the edge and this was insanely pigmented 😻 so glad this was the color she recommended bc it wasn’t muted but also not a neon green scary color. I was scared it would be more dark but did it anyway and it wasn’t at all it was a super saturated purple …a blueish purple for sure. I went to the beach and it of course took most of the color out BUT it faded nicely and I had about 4 shampoos of decent color after that beach trip! So it deff has lasting power I left it in my hair for an hour – as it faded it became more of a lilac pastel purple 🥰🥰vanessa.z

This pink is NOT pastel any sense of the word! If this is pastel then I’m madonna ( I’m not). I had bleached out my my hair till level 10 was super excited To use this as I’ve had my hair every color of the rainbow and pastel pink is one of my favorites. I Checked my hair in about 10 minutes since it was so Highly pigmented. The dye did appear dark out of the bottle but that happens often and it doesn’t mean it’s the final color so I wasn’t really concerned. When I checked my hair 10 minutes in it was bright pink and when I say bright I’m talking about neon signs a blazing bright! Now I have nothing against neon pink hair it just doesn’t look right with my skin tone and it’s not the color I was going for. I honestly would not recommend this to anyone if they are looking for a pastel pink or even a light pink… a true pink …:magenta pink. The only time I would tell someone to go ahead and use this is if they want neon pink bright neon pink it does not wash out of your hair anytime soon. It does say 5 to 30 washes but let’s put it this way I ended up having to bleach my hair out again to get it out . So all in all I would never use it again I give it to storage because I mean the quality of the dye was very good for a direct dye color was vibrant he lasted quite a long time but it wasn’t the color it had Represented itself to befabianna.t

All the people complaining in the comments either are too impatient or have no skill at all. I suck at dying my hair but it took little effort to dye my whole hair. Not to mention I am latina! I have the thickest hair you have ever seen ! This thing is ammmazimg. I have tried other brands and they never washed off and ended up leaving the color on my hair for months. This is affordable and works if you want something temporary or like to change colors all the time without damaging it. This brand has never dried my hair out btw. The best thing about this is a little goes a long way & it is highly pigmanted. When I had hair up to my lower wings it was able to cover all of it. You just have to be patient! I like to keep my hair a pretty shade of light purple/lilac. While I was shopping at Walmart, I saw a few bottles of . on sale. My hair had been looking pretty blah lately, so I decided to try it out. I liked the fact that it was a "PASTEL" shade of purple, cruelty free vegan, and also was super strong and took as little as 10 minutes to fully develop. I brushed it onto the bottom half of my hair, which had been previously bleached numerous times in the past. I left it on for just over 2 hours, which I normally do with semi-permanent dyes like this (dyes like Manic Panic I leave on for even longer and blow dry for best results!). When I saw the color of the dye itself, I was SO excited! It was SUCH a beautiful shade of purple! Not dark, or harsh in any way, but it reminded me of cupcakes or sprinkles. What I got was a whole other story! My hair turned out SO dark! I only left the dye on so long to deposit the color, I never thought it would turn such a deep, dark, totally random color. I'm so disappointed in it, but everyone else thinks that it's the right color and I get a lot of compliments. I've washed it once so far and while it has lightened drastically, it hasn't lightened to a pastel anything, it's just a faded version of the super dark purple. I can't complain about it too much though, because it was a random purchase, and I only paid $3 a bottle and it only took 2 bottles. When using this you have to be super careful, because it stains everything around you quickly and permanently! It stains things much worse than other dyes like it that I have used. I also don't think they should necessarily call it a "pastel" purple, because straight out of the tube it is a much more brighter, more vivid purple than a pastel, and the color it made my hair is nowhere near a pastel. I would probably only recommend this dye to people who don't expect their dye to last a long time or change their hair color a lot, or it could be maybe good for someone dying their children's hair because it seems like it washes out pretty easily. I had high hopes for this dye when I actually saw it, but sadly It just didn't work out.ashley.h

I love Directions. The best hair dye for bright and vibrant colour. Just a shame that it is only semi permanent. I can never find a permanent dye that gives me anywhere near the bright red of this dye. It is very messy in the bathroom though! Stains my bath far more than permanent dyes so make sure you wipe off spills straight away and use a good bathroom cleaner spray, preferably with bleach in it. It also stains pillows and the neck of light coloured clothes in the week or so after dyeing but I've found these stains usually come out in a normal 40 degree wash.Lorraine G

Really lovely colour, doesn't last as long as other semi-permanent dyes so I use around once a month if I want to keep this shade. Easy to apply and has a pleasant texture and scent. I LOVE MANIC PANIC ❤️ This is my go to hair dye. It never disappoints! It's vegan and cruelty free. Not harmful for your hair. It goes on your hair just as it comes… Open it, crack the seal and apply straight from the jar/bottle. This is my new color as of tonight and it is amazing. The amplified is supposed to last longer and be a more vibrant, stronger color. The scent is rather nice with any of them you get. This one reminds me of the smell of grape tylenol. I absolutely loved this product and color when I had my hair dyed blue. It kept my color so vibrant. It does stain your hands, skin and tub so be careful when using it. If it does stain your tub it should fade over time. You can put it straight on your hair or mix it with your conditioner to just touch up the color. The picture was taken right after coloring with the rockabilly blue. I would definitely buy this again.hunter.l

Smells amazing and is easy to apply. Unfortunately that's where the good in my review ends. I bought the Magic Salem and pastel Iris colors and honestly? I wasn't impressed. They don't last (pastel Iris has only lasted one wash, Magic Salem – which was quoted to last 3 weeks – only lasted 3.) Not to mention, Magic Salem is their purple, but it came out blue rather than purple. And to make matters worse, the dyes faded super poorly? It looked awful.

I love Lunar Tides. The salon I go to for my highlights use this product. I also purchase this as a consumer for at home use in between salon visits. The dyes are super vibrant. A big plus is that Lunar Tides are vegan and cruelty free. I like mixing colors to make different shades. These are semi-permanent so they will wash out. I recommend washing your hair with cold water and use Watercolor Shampoo for whatever color your hair is. I bought 4 dyes from Lunar Tides: Juniper Green, Aurora Green, Pastel Iris, and their toner. the toner worked great, I loved it! however the dyes are absolutely terrible. I read so many reviews before buying from them and the only “bad” thing I could find was that it was runny and messy. the hair dye I received is almost a gel consistency, not runny at all. my hair was platinum blonde before I dyed it with juniper green. it is very dark in the container, but bright green on the hair; this was my first red flag. I kept hoping it would be darker when I washed it out but obviously it was lighter. my hair was joker green. I figured this was my fault for toning my hair and thought maybe that could be the issue. however, I also dyed part of my hair with the Pastel Iris. in the container, it looks like a darker purple (the shade you think of when I say purple) so I assumed it would be darker than I expected; it was not. it went on the hair very light, looked very similar to the toner. after I rinsed it out (with cold water as you should) the color was BARELY there. it looked like I left toner on for a little too long. again, I figured this was my fault for ordering a pastel dye. HOWEVER, I just washed my hair for the first time since dying it (it has been exactly ONE week) and the color is completely gone. the part that was dyed purple has absolutely no color in it. this was after ONE WASH. there is absolutely no reason for my hair to be blonde right now. I had to purchase a completely different dye to cover up the horrid snot green and now I have to re-dye the part that is purple EVERY TIME I want to wash my hair??? an absolute waste of money and time. should not be sold as semi-permanentzoe hintze

I've used color shampoos and conditioner for a long time now and none of them have actually added color to my hair. Ya it kept it from fading as fast but never brightened and refreshed my color. I've only used viral three times now and the results every time have been amazing! The longer you leave it in the deeper the color. Its hands down the best colorwash I've ever come across! It does leave your hair a little hard to brush but I will be trying this brands conditioner very soon 🙂Anonymous

I am using the silver shampoo and conditioner to grow out my grays and I get compliments allll the time on my hair. What's been colored was a bleachy blond and this shampoo blends it to the silver so well. Using it all the time it has the slightest lavender under-hue, which I like. Using it less often is more truly just silver. I'll keep using it even after I've grown out all my gray (I'm about 4 inches out right now).Anonymous

I bought this color for my son. We both regularly dye our hair with Manic Panic. For some reason Pillarbox red has been an absolute nightmare. It is constantly bleeding on EVERYTHING. His hoodie, bedding, pillows, shirts, my bed, seat on his bus, my car seat, my stainless steel sink, etc are all red. I would give 1 star of I didn't know and love manic panic. I have been using it for 30 years! I washed his hair 5x 2 days in a row for a total of 10 times and it is still happening. I am losing my mind. All his clothes are getting ruined. I don't want to rate quality because I don't want to bring the rating down if there is just an issue with this batch. I just wanted to share my experience.Angel5787

I purchased silver stiletto. I already have blonde hair but bleached it awhile back. Grew my roots out and recently rebleached those and then cleansed my hair with shampoo and no conditioner. After fully drying I used the whole bottle on my hair and it was thoroughly saturated, even rubbed it in to make sure. Covered it as instructed for thirty minutes and NOTHING! Two big light blue blotches near the ends of my hair and nothing else. Vast Majority of my hair didn't take the color. At minimum usually my hair will pick up color and keep it going for a few washes. This product is Not even worth a dollar. Don't buy this.Coralcrumbs

I bought one bottle each of Rockabilly Blue and Vampire Red. I was going for a dark reddish purple. Mixed about 3/4 red and 1/4 blue. Applied, let sit for an hour. Despite the fact that I used only 1/4 of the blue in my mix it was what stained my hands (through the gloves!), sink (where I washed the mixing bowl) and my whole shower…I was shocked but honestly I don't care much about it being stained so I shrugged and on we go. Just a bit unfortunate that my whole shower floor is blue and my porcelain sink is as well. The color however turned out beautiful. I dyed over my natural dark brown hair and it made it slightly darker but a lovely rich purple/red. Exactly what I wanted. It does bleed really badly and will stain any white/light towels, sheets, hair bands/etc you might have. Now here's where something weird comes in…since I dyed it a week ago, every day I get my hair wet in the shower it smells AWFUL. Like, I immediately thought it smelled like a Porta-John. I even asked my husband the last few days to smell my wet hair and confirm that's what is smelling so bad and yes, it's my hair! It's so strange. I tried googling to see if anyone else has had the same problem but couldn't find anything so maybe it's just me? I'm giving it three stars because my hair looks and feels great, but I'll probably never use it again due to the excessive staining/bleeding and the weird smell.Alex

This color truly works well on all types of hair. It holds to the hair very well. My only complaint is it does run from the hair even if you shampoo it over three times, the color will stop bleeding after about three or four days if you rinse daily.JONI D.

This brush is pretty but I just don't grab it that often. I do like it though. One of the ones I keep. Update: Okay I’ve been using this blush everyday recently yes in fact it is a nice blush to have use. It’s very pretty on skin, natural can be built up. It has very nice pigmentation but not crazy where one little swipe can go no no no no! It looks like the most beautiful glowy blush glow. Not chunky glitter. Smells amazing when putting on. Smells like sexy smooth light vanilla. The heel goes away first swipe, sucks for appearance but not bad because who wants silver on their cheeks on the daily? To me the packaging is a little cheesy with the blush design too bulky for travel. I never use the brush it comes with always my own. This is a very pretty blush lasts throughout the day.kristin.w

I have used this blush for about 8 or 9 years now. I don’t think I’ll ever find one I love as much as this one. It gives you a warm, flushed glow that lives up to the name “Sexy Booster” 🙂 The scent is really pleasant too, which is unusual for a blush product. I can’t attest for sure that the supposed pheromones really have any effect, but regardless it’s a gorgeous very natural looking blush. Unfortunately it’s no longer made, so can be difficult to find often more expensive than when it was out.
